Influenster Feast Vox Box:

In my quest to try all the free samples and provide reviews, I am posting my experiences with the Feast Vox Box from Influenster. This box had a lot of interesting products, some of which I loved and some that were just good/okay. I will provide brief reviews below. If you like testing out new products, especially beauty products, and don't mind sharing reviews about your favorite things, check out Influenster. Things I Really Liked:

Arnott's Tim Tam Biscuits, Dark Chocolate- I have seen Tim Tam cookies/biscuits on social media for years from people living outside of the US. People rave about them! I was very pleased when I tried them. Tim Tams reminded me of a tiny candy bar/a really rich cookie. They are made up of chocolate-covered chocolate cookies with a fudgey layer in between. Tim Tams are very delicious and eating just one is satisfying enough with a cup of tea or coffee. The cookies are sort of high in fat and calories, so it is for the best that the packs only include around a dozen cookies. Be sure to try the Tim Tam Slam by dunking your cookie in coffee and eating before it completely dissolves into chocolatey goodness. You won't regret it! I would love to try every flavor of Tim Tams in the future!

Bigelow Benefits Teas-I am a hot tea fanatic and flock to any kind of delicious sounding/wellness tea product. I was happy to see that Bigelow has introduced a tea with added benefits because the brand is high quality and often more affordable than other tea brands. I tried and liked both the Stay Well Echinacea Lemon and the Calm Stomach Peach Ginger flavors. My only warning is that the teas include many other herbal ingredients and taste intensely herb-like. You should read the ingredients before buying to make sure you can deal with each herb or flavor. I think these teas are great for keeping warm, well, and comforted this winter. I have already purchased the Refresh Turmeric Chili Matcha Green Tea and it was surprisingly tasty and mild. I love the variety and wellness possibilities of the Bigelow Benefits teas.

Things That Were Good/Okay:

French's Crispy Jalapenos-I tried these fried jalapenos in a similar vox box last year and I liked them, but I just forgot to use them regularly. The Crispy Jalapenos are salty, crunchy, only somewhat spicy, and make a great topping for things like tacos, burgers, soups, etc. They taste great to munch on as a snack too! I used these on top of an improvised southwestern salad and they added some flavor, crunch, and spice. I like the resealable plastic container, the straightforward ingredients, and the recipe ideas included. My big critique is that I forget to use toppings like these crispy jalapenos unless I see them regularly on the counter or in the fridge. I also prefer hot sauce when I want some spice. I like French's Crispy Jalapenos, but I forget to use them on my tacos and burgers. They are an "extra" ingredient that I don't find essential and probably won't buy.

Del Monte Fresh Cut Golden Sweet Whole Kernel Corn-This canned corn was great in all respects, but it is another case of something nice that is not essential. The Del Monte corn was easy to use in a southwestern salad straight from the can and it tasted sweet and crunchy. I appreciated the simple and straightforward ingredients, the beautiful appearance of the corn, and the recipe ideas on the can. It was a high quality product, plain and simple. My family usually buys store brand canned foods to save a bit of money. Even though I liked this Del Monte canned corn, I can get by with a store brand or less expensive product.

Country Crock Buttery Sticks-I was pleased with these margarine sticks in every way, but I still have a hang up about not using butter when baking, for some reason. I used the margarine in a no bake chocolate cookie recipe. The sticks were clearly measured out and blended into the batter easily because of the softer texture. My cookies tasted great and had a wonderful texture. I thought the buttery sticks had a very unnatural buttery aroma when unwrapping one, but I did not detect this taste in my cookies. I thought the ingredients were decent, but I don't like to see things like soybean oil and what seems like preservatives/taste and texture changers. These margarine sticks are comparable to butter nutrition-wise, but I think they have significantly lower saturated fat. The Country Crock Buttery Sticks performed well in a cookie recipe and were easy to use. I might buy this product sometimes, especially if it is cheaper than butter, but I do prefer using butter for the simple fact that it tastes pure and is simply made.
