Meant to attach this video to an ask response but used the wrong one on accident, so here’s the MUTOs kissing just for you. One of my favourite clips in the entire series. I love you creature and sound designers.

Kong: *points at Femuto and Hokmuto* Who’s that?
Godzilla: They don’t like me.
Kong: *points at his ancestors* Who’s that?
Godzilla: They don’t like me either.
Kong: *points at King Ghidorah* Who’s that?!
Godzilla: Let’s just assume for the moment that everyone here doesn’t like me.

This is probably the funniest thing I’ve ever posted. Also turn up your brightness because this movie is dark as FUCK
(video description under cut)
A Clip of the Godzilla and MUTOs fight from the 2014 movie. It is the scene where Godzilla has FMuto pinned on the ground and MMuto appears to drag Godzilla off of her. When MMuti appears, the normal audio has been replaced with an audio clip of Vegeta screaming “THATS MY WIFEEEEEEE”

Does hokmuto have a wife in your rp’s? Since his sister femuto does with gigan, I was wondering if he had a wife. If he does, who are they, and is femuto the one that helped him, and if not, is he interested in anyone? Like megaguirus or someone like that?
The hokmuto's name is Hansan (I better have spelt that properly), but Cretaceous Ghidorah called him Han Zimmer (as a show of how much he doesn't care about people's names) and now the Ghidorahs tend to call him Han Zimmer, lol.
From what I can see in the RP, Hansan doesn't have a wife and is single. I THINK he has feelings for a minor character that I can't remember who, but it's not something that is explored as you can tell by me not remembering any of it. But Hansan is played by my friend and any relationship he would be in will be between him and my other friend, as my characters don't really associate with Han Zimmer much beyond Shin Ghidorah making his life hell.
Oh, and Megaguirus is in the RP, and she's married with a kid.... to Owen, the dance-loving food-guzzling Legendary Godzilla of this RP (not the same Goji as in the Monsterverse movies, that guy was evul and killed before I properly joined the RP).
I love questions about the RP! Please, if there's any more questions, lemme know! I wanna jump-start my page again!

In light of the upcoming holiday (and in light of this being my first poll on this account), I decided to engage in a fandom pastime: Shipping!
Votes will close on Valentine’s Day, hehehe. Remember to reblog so this can reach a wider audience!

Well, the kaiju ship I ship most is Mothollante, but everyone’s already given their thoughts on that so yeah. Has a lot of the pros of Mothzilla with few of the cons, as well as the wonderful aesthetic of a genetically-engineered abomination and a goddess of nature. There’s also the obligatory puns about flowers and butterflies, and Mothra-based hurt/comfort and fluff which is one of my favorite kaiju fan plots.
Mothzilla’s… alright when handled in a certain way, but it’s a “the ship is fine but why is it everywhere” type of thing. And with the MonsterVerse especially, their relationship is better if it’s platonic. All in all, I don’t really ship it, unless a particular person’s take leans to the “humanity’s sins and nature’s virtues” aspect of both of them.
Gong’s pretty good. Tired old men being tired together.
Rodorah’s pure arson and anarchy and I value it for that, but no way is that dynamic anything approaching healthy. I ship it for the lolz.
I’ve jokingly shipped Legion from Gamera and Destroyah together before. Two big buff arthropod ladies.
Angzilla has the same benefits as Gong, really, but with more Showa craziness. I find Kongzillra to be a funny threesome, esp. because GvK would have been over in ten minutes if Mothra was there to slap some sense into Goji, to calm Kong down, and to alert the humans to Mechagoji/Ghidorah.
2MUTO is the kaiju ship I like second most, it gets points for being the only canon kaiju couple I can think of outside of the two OG Rodans, and also because I just love the MUTOs in general. Fr though, those two bugs were so sweet together, and I do think they had as much if not more chemistry than the human leads. Anyone who says that Femuto would have committed mate cannibalism on Hokmuto can face my wrath. MUTOs are clearly designed to fight, hunt, and live in pairs (therefore it makes no sense for her to kill and eat him), and it’s entirely possible they’re like crocodilians (i.e. female raises the kids and protects the nest, male brings her and the wittle babies food. Babies stay with the parents for several years until they can live on their own, and may stay within the parents’ territory for several more years. But now I’m going on one of my MUTO ecology headcanon rambles again…)
That’s all I can think of for now, have fun with these and have a nice day!
ooh this is a long one
- I think the funny thing about the hurt/comfort fluff is I only really like it with the Heisei Mothra. For some reason, maybe because she starts out as a larva, she always seemed a bit less like a goddess to me and more like a really caring person just fighting for what they love. While I read other Mothras as more closed off and unsure in social situations because of their attachment to world peace, Heisei Mothra feels more sociable and peppy, and thus capable of committed relationships
- continuing that, Mothzilla I have never really been a fan of, and I think Goji and Mothra being friends is far more interesting. They care so much and mean so much to each other, but it’s because they value their friendship, and neither of them have really had a relationship like that before. They started off as a business relationship and got closer over time, and I think their friendship is very sweet.
- Kongzilla is (usually) very relaxed old man yaoi and I like that a lot
- If you read my other previous ask about Rodorah, you’ll know how I feel about it. Very wacky very goofy very arson.
- Y’know what, I totally think Legion could get it. She’s pulled tons of arthropod ladies before.
- Again, relaxed old man yaoi, I like that a lot. For them it’s way more like, they’ve been friends for so long and have only gotten closer over time, and everyone’s wondering whether they’re official or not, and maybe they won’t say it out loud cause they don’t want the attention, but they are.
- I had a pretty brief Kongzillra phase and that was pretty fun. Mostly used for laughs and silly shipping dynamics where there’s no bad blood. They’re a power throuple.
- The MUTOs are so cute to me, the part where they meet each other in Chinatown, call to each other, nuzzle, and sync up their vocalizations when they kiss lives in my head rent free. It’s too bad Godzilla hates straight romance, because they were a very adorable and committed couple. (I also would be super into any MUTO ecology posts if you’re offering)
(this clip. this clip right here. the sound design, the cuteness, chefs kiss.)

There’s a reason many members of the kaiju fandoms consider the MUTOs/Titanus Jishin-Mushi to actually be either derived lungfish or placoderms (personally, I’m in Camp Lungfish).
The MUTOs* canonically are very bug-like in appearance and possess eight limbs, but we also clearly know they have internal bones and vertebrae. They display drastic sexual dimorphism: females are larger and stockier with gradients of dark gray for coloring, while the males are about 1/4th-1/3rd smaller, have one set of large forelegs adapted into wings, and are deep black with silver markings on their jaws, legs, and wings.
There’s more about them I could go on, but the film creature designer stated that they are fucking mammals. These things lay eggs (yes I am aware of the platypus) but they also do not suckle the young and they do not have hair anywhere that can be seen. In earlier concept art, they did have hair and skin rather than carapace, but this is not seen in the final film:
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
The creatures do have a larval form, but this is not seen directly in the film. However, for certain events to occur, the larval form must be at the least semiaquatic. We know for a fact they are a metamorphic species (the male makes a cocoon). Despite the insectoid appearance and them having a parasitic life cycle, the female lacks an ovipositor and instead lays her eggs rather like a vertebrate does (she is a vertebrate, we can see her spine after… well, she gets decapitated by Godzilla).
Furthermore, the creatures seem to be a coastal species: everywhere one is willingly, it’s a coastal environment. The Philippines, a fictional city in either Kyushu or Shikoku, Honolulu, and San Francisco. The imago male was able to catch a submarine and carry it to Hawai’i, and later we see him dive on a boat in San Francisco bay and swim underwater with it to the shore.
The creatures are implied to do some nurturing of their young (though it’s possible it may just be like that of the tarantula hawk wasp, one of their main inspirations: leave a food cache for the young’uns). However, certain other hints of their behavior imply they may be more like alligators in this respect. Either way, they are highly defensive of their nest structure, and linger in the area while the eggs incubate.
All this has lead several factions of the fandom to decree that they are, in fact, derived lungfish. They breathe air, they make cocoons, their skulls look similar to the face shape of the MUTO. Some have suggested that the metamorphic life cycle could be a form of evolutionary neoteny (the larva looks more like the ancestral lungfish before cocooning and developing into the adult, consistent with a known pupation time of 15 years). The multiple limbs have been suggested as being like a sea robin’s fingers. The creatures possess a biological EMP, which is suggested as having been derived from the lateral line organ (or maybe their “eye” sensors are derived from that, it’s still a matter of debate).
*MUTO as an acronym stands for Massive Unidentified Terrestrial Organism, and is a catch-all term for the kaiju of this universe. Once a kaiju has been “identified” by discovering a myth, folktale, or other ancient record that refers to it, it’s name is changed to that creature’s name, it gets a formal scientific name, and is otherwise moved out of the MUTO category. “Titan” is the term for kaiju in general in this universe, with “sub-Titan” and “superspecies” referring to fauna, flora, and florafauna (exactly what it sounds like) that also display funky biology, but are not large enough or immune to military weapons-enough to classify as true Titans. However, the film Godzilla (2014) neglected to name these two creatures anything other than “MUTO” and therefore the acronym is now inextricably connected to them, even after they were ID’d and given another name: Jishin-Mushi, Japanese for Earthquake-Beetle. MUTO is still what everyone calls them, and the fandom has nicknamed these two individuals as Hokmuto (the male) and Femuto (the female).
This concludes my long, rambling TedTalk that nobody asked for. Sorry.

So, last night when I was playing ‘Kaiju Universe’, there was a Minilla EX who apparently has the ability to paint Kaiju gold with its atomic breath.
Long story short, in about 20 minutes after I had joined, the entire server turned friendly as everyone wanted to get the Midas Touch (I myself got a bit on my Hokmuto’s wing as pictured here).
That has by far been my most unique experience I’ve ever had playing the game.
