Hi! What's your favorite flavor of bubble tea and which one do you think I should try first? I've never had bubble tea before.
hey! hm... that's a hard question. there's just so much good boba haha. if i had to say my favorite would be taro or peach oolong, but recently i've been ordering more of the lattes with pudding as an extra topping. it's a sweetness overload but, surprisingly, i don't mind. as for which one you should try first, brown sugar milk tea is a classic but if you'd like something not too sweet, i'd recommend a fruit tea like wintermelon tea. not wintermelon milk tea btw ! just wintermelon tea. if you like more earthy flavors, taro milk tea or hojicha or matcha latte are always a good pick! and of course it wouldn't be boba without the tapioca ♪( ´▽`)

𝐒𝐄𝐍𝐒𝐄 𝐀𝐍𝐃 𝐎𝐓𝐇𝐄𝐑 𝐒𝐏𝐄𝐂𝐈𝐅𝐈𝐂 𝐇𝐄𝐀𝐃𝐂𝐀𝐍𝐎𝐍𝐒
WHAT DOES YOUR MUSE SMELL LIKE? I keep thinking like very earthy/gourmands- Hojicha or Gunpowder green smokiness, vetiver, sandalwood or cypress, spiciness from pink pepper or cardamom and tobacco. Maybe lifted by something a little mysterious you only get as like an afterthought: white musk and jasmine.
WHAT DO YOUR MUSE’S HANDS FEEL LIKE? Firm. They're square-palmed and sturdy in build, rough and callused from years of martial arts. Suguru runs a little hot, so his hands would be perfect for breadmaking, but they also get rather sweaty when held...
WHAT DOES YOUR MUSE USUALLY EAT IN A DAY? A LOT of tea, but pretty healthy and balanced meals. Tends to eat on the lighter side though- so white fish and eel, rice, sauteed and/or blanched veggies with minimal seasonings. He does love heavier comfort foods like stews and starchy dishes, but he has to be in the mood for it, otherwise it's too much.
He's more sensitive to taste and aroma, which doesn't help his tolerance of ingesting curses, at all he normally has a hard daily limit to how many curses he can absorb.
DOES YOUR MUSE HAVE A GOOD SINGING VOICE? It's low and has a husky quality, not amazing or classical singing attuned, more like hard/alternative rock kind of voice.
DOES YOUR MUSE HAVE ANY BAD HABITS OR NERVOUS TICKS? He later picks up smoking from Shoko, but in general, he tends to self-isolate when he's not feeling well or depressed. He doesn't exactly hide how he feels, it's definitely noticeable that something is wrong, but he feels too exhausted to care that much about how it's making his close friends worry.
WHAT DOES YOUR MUSE USUALLY LOOK LIKE / WEAR? A bit basic/classic, he is willing to spend more on clothes if they are well tailored and will last a long time. Definitely more of a traditional type, but he also has an attraction to streetwear like fancy joggers and high-end sneakers. He has trouble justifying indulging in stuff, especially if it's considered trendy, but he does like the style.
His ear gauges show this rebellious streak in a subtle way.
IS YOUR MUSE AFFECTIONATE? HOW SO? He shows affection by being caring and through physical gestures, gentle touching is a big tip off that he's comfortable around someone but also mindful of not being too intrusive. He's the type to nurse someone like Satoru if they're sick, he just complains the whole time to make it seem like he doesn't want to.
WHAT POSITION DOES YOUR MUSE SLEEP IN? Side sleeper, tends to wake up with shoulder and neck issues when he's under stress. He's like a big warm rock, he doesn't move.
COULD YOU HEAR YOUR MUSE IN THE HALLWAY FROM ANOTHER ROOM? Only if he's with Shoko and/or Satoru, then he's more open and doesn't notice if he's being loud.

there’s something profoundly intimate and bittersweet about having loved people.
i wore my brown crushed velvet jacket and felt loved because my best friend in said that’s her favorite thing i wear. she’s studying abroad in slovenia right now, i wonder if she’s making plenty of new friends and memories on her own. i hope she is, i’m excited to see her again.
i saw a recipe video for different kinds of sago and it reminded me of a boy i liked in sophomore year of high school whose favorite food was mango sago.
whenever i see beautiful porcelain tea kettles i think back to the only sweet sixteen i’ve ever attended. it was like stepping into the secret garden in the middle of suburban monotony. her home felt like charlotte lucas’s in the film, complete with faded embroidered daybeds and ambient classical music. we even released butterflies in her backyard. apparently it is tradition in her family to gift a tea kettle every birthday, i’ve always wondered what a person could do with so many tea kettles as the years go on. her mother was a professional florist and very apt in her craft, i thought maybe her family really were fairies at one point. i’ve never been to a tea party since, and i miss those butterfly shaped sugar cubes.
every time i drink hojicha i am reminded of one of my closest friends junior year of high school that i haphazardly fell out with only to reconnect with years later. we were so similar that we could discuss for hours on any topic, including teas i hadn’t known about before.
when i drive past the mall in my hometown i wonder still why my best girlfriend from high school one day mysteriously unadded me despite us still occasionally meeting as satellites of the same friend group. did i do something to upset her? i’ll probably never know and i probably won’t ask either, and i’ll never know if she moved from the tiny apartment right behind the mall.
when i see the color of royal purple i remember my first real love. when we first met, he said his favorite color was deep purple. in my mind at the time i thought, how unique, and how fitting this gallant color is to his person.
i’ve always believed in that saying that it is better to have loved and lost than to never have loved at all. though these people are never really lost to those who really loved them.
even so, i hope nobody ever sees this blog. some things are better missed.

Bonus post: Character boba milk tea orders
Finn: Classic boba milk tea/brown sugar milk tea. A timeless classic for a man with a sweet tooth and some indecisiveness problems. On occasion, he'll try seasonal drinks.
Jakob: He's never had boba. But if he did, it would be something like a plain unsweetened milk tea with a ceylon base. He's kind of boring in that regard. I think he would react poorly to the sudden texture change.
Mona: (Sweetened) matcha drinker, with fruit or flowers. She's especially a fan of the higher end tea places where you can get things like strawberry matcha dalgona. When she feels like getting add ins, she'll get a jasmine milk tea to fill with things like crystal boba or sago.
Caleb: He can't taste anything there, but he gets a classic boba milk tea to appear normal. It's a choice that can only be judged for being a little plain. When it's available, he'll get herbal iced teas like chrysanthemum instead to avoid the caffeine.
Harrison: Coffee milk tea, delicious and dangerously caffeinated. Sea salt cream/cheese foam added when available.
Veronica: Never gets the same thing twice if she can help it. She'll usually order off the recommended list most shops have by the register. Generally prefers green tea.
-
Renard: Floral green teas, like jasmine, rose or lavender. No milk, just clear tea with rainbow jelly and crystal boba. When honey boba was still in vogue, he likely had that as an add-in. 0-25% sweet depending on his add-ins.
Caio: Oolong or hojicha milk tea with brown sugar boba. Likes the toasty flavor. Not usually willing to try new things, since these are expensive drinks and he's too broke to regret a $5+ drink.

18 for the ask game!
18. your boba/tea order? Can never go wrong with a classic black milk tea, but I tend to be a fan of the floral or herbal milk teas - hojicha, rose, matcha. Things of that nature. Always regular boba pearls. Never more than 25% sugar, never more than 50% ice.
Thanks for the ask Zora!
