I know the ending was rushed so I can forgive a lot and I Get why Roberts wanted to set the epilogue so far in the future like. If ratchet just died after like ten years that would SUCK lol like god poor drift. So I get it. I do. And having like all of the cast basically have no contact since the last time we saw them let's them really talk to eachother so I get it. I get wanting to have the scene where Cyclonus and Tailgate ask whirl to move in with him on screen

But I'm left with the fact that canonically tailgate and Cyclonus left cybertron to go off on wild adventures and just. Never called him. Like ship or no ship whirl and Cyclonus and Tailgate were friends. Whirl was the one that stopped Cyclonus from self harming, the one who held him while he cried when tailgate was dead and like. I'm really supposed to just accept that they left to go hoenymooning for decades or centuries or even millennia and just... Didn't check up on him? Their friend? Didn't call, didn't ask anyone else about him? They learned he had been in and out of prison for the first time at the funeral? I can't handle that. I really am struck by the overwhelming feeling of like. You left your friend who you know has a minimum of three suicide attempts under his belt since you've met him alone, you left your friend who has no other friends behind, your friend you KNOW is mentally and emotionally unwell and you didn't... Check on him? Not once? How could you not have checked up on him at all? Didn't you worry at all? I can't really... See you as a good friend whom he should be moving in with when you just sort of. Didn't think about him at all for the last however long it's been. I just really hate that implication, it really seems ooc for teeg and cyc to just. Not care. Or not think that maybe whirl should get a welfare check/call once in a blue moon just to see if he's like, alive.

Frankly even after all his character development in mtmte/ll I am Shocked that whirl post LL left like. As a loose end, as he says, didn't kill himself. No one was really around to stop him anymore. I guess I get the feeling he was causing problems just to go back to prison because he didn't want to kill himself but kind of knew if he was left to his own devices he would, and constantly going to prison was sort of his own fucked up way of putting himself on extended suicide watch. Keeping distracted.

I'm still really fucked up imagining decades go by before cyc and tailgate are like hey maybe we should see if whirl is like, still alive. And like no lol he died like four years ago dude, talk about no funeral huh

Agrh! The ending I would want is him in medical school, slow and steady. He does well in class but he's missed s few semesters in jail so it's taking him forever but he's getting there. Dabs drift is paying for it lmao, and drift has taken over ratchets free clinic and whirl is going to come work there when he finishes school. Hey look, he figured out how to make meaningful connections with others and not JUST cyc and tailgate. And maybe they haven't seen him in forever but they've heard updates from drift so they know he's like. Alive. But seeing him again they're like oh no fuck this that's our boy okay we are moving back to cybertron and you're taking the spare bedroom and we are gonna help you finish school yeet
