Announcer: …and the Atlas Wolves shoot!

Atlas Hockey Player: *slaps a shot on goal*

Jaune: *slides to the side in a full split, snatching the puck out of the air with his glove*

Announcer: OOOHHH!!! BIG save by Arc! With a score of 2 - 2, no timeouts, and only ten seconds remaining in the championship game, JNPR has one last chance to pull ahead and take home the cup!

Ren: *pops his mouthguard in and squares up to face off* 😠

Referee: *drops puck*

Ren: *snaps puck away like lightning and passes to Pyrrha*

Announcer: …and JNPR wins the face off…

Nora: *shoulder-slams two Atlas defenders aside into the wall, rattling the glass* 😠

Announcer: OOOOH!! That’s a big hit from Valkyrie! Nikos is now wide open! And only four seconds left on the clock!

Pyrrha: *breaks away with the puck and bears down on Atlas goalie*

Atlas Goalie: *setting up to block* 😨

Pyrrha: *narrows her eyes* 👿

Pyrrha: *suddenly breaks right*

Atlas Goalie: *throws himself to the right*

Pyrrha: *flips the puck between her feet to the left and slaps it into the now-open goal* ⛸️🏒⛸️ 🥅

*Goal Horn*

Announcer: NIKOS SCORES!!! JNPR TAKES THE CUP!!!

Pyrrha: *skating on one leg and pumping her fist in triumph* 😆

Crowd: JU-NI-PER!! JU-NI-PER!! JU-NI-PER!! 🤩

Jaune/Nora/Ren: *dogpile Pyrrha in a group hug of pads, happy tears, and hockey sticks*

Jaune: *lifts his goalie mask and slams his mouth onto Pyrrha’s* 🥰

Pyrrha: *grabs Jaune’s sweaty hair and pulls him into the kiss* 😙 ❤️💛❤️💛

Announcer: A victory kiss for the team captain and her goalie husband!

Crowd: *watching the kiss on the Jumbotron* AWWWW!!! 😍

Nora: *lifts both Jaune/Pyrrha up in the air*

Ren: *raises championship cup in front of his team*

Crowd: JU-NI-PER!! JU-NI-PER!! JU-NI-PER!! 🤩

Volume 4 Finale Thoughts AKA The Finale to Top Volume 3.

Since the rwby tag is about to be flooded by every rwde jackass bitching about the finale and how it screwed up apparently, I’m going to show you why6 it’s awesome:

SPOILERS! (Seriously, do not read if you haven’t seen it yet. I am dead serious.)

1. The Nucklevee fight, which is so awesome I need to make sub points for it: A: The Nucklevee has been hyped of for quite some time now and it did NOT disappoint. With elast5ic arms, freakish movement, constant screaming that sent chills down my spine each time and a freakish amount of intelligence displayed in how it adapted to team RNJR’s tactics. B: Jaune’s sword upgrade. While minor and not really worth anything in the grand scheme of the fight, Jaune’s upgrade is representative of two things: One is his development into becoming a Huntsman truly by having a huntsman-sque weapon. And two it represents Pyrrha motivating and improving him from even beyond the grave, both physically and mentally. I have only seen one mentor do that so well and he was someone so great he’s used a comparison to Monty himself. C. The fight itself is awesome because it feels like something straight out of Monty’s book. There was only one instance of physics getting bent over and the rest was used making Physics it’s bitch. The flow was great, I was always on edge even in the more character driven parts or humorous parts (Jaune got punted away like a hockey puck. Twice, the second time after he got an upgrade reveal. And people call RWBY a Jaune empowerment show.) Speaking of the fight- D. Ren and Nora are the centerpieces in this fight as they should be. The Nucklevee is THEIR enemy, their foe that caused them pain, their demon to face! And the battle treats it as such. While Ruby and Jaune do have respective moments (Jaune’s unveiling and Ruby’s sniping) Ren and Nora have the attention of the camera, the writing and the audience with Nora doing the most damage by crushing the skull of the Nucklevee horse and Ren being the most active fighter and getting the final blow. E. The final blow against the Nucklevee was perfection! The usage of tactics to pin down the Nucklevee’s arms, Nora smashing it’s skull in with her harm and Ren slowly but surely cutting away at the beast, filled with a silent but burning rage as he took vengeance as he cut the monster’s head off. And my god, the visual story telling. The Nuckelvee slowly went from being a disastrous monster that has robbed so many people of their lives in it’s inhuman crusade to being an armless mess that can only scream. And all of this was portrayed without words. I went from fearing the Nucklevee, praying it won’t kill anyone, to feeling nothing but disgust and triumph over it as Ren killed. This shows one thing that has been constant in RWBY: Don’t fuck with humanity.

2. Ren and Nora’s relationship. In this episode, the relationship between Ren and Nora, an already strong as hell aspect of the show, is reinforced so much here. Especially Nora here. While Ren’s moments here were nothing short of awe inspiring, Nora’s were nothing short of tearjerking and just love incarnate. She saved Ren’s life TWICE in this episode...WITHOUT AURA, she kept him ground in his anger despite knowing what the Nucklevee did to them, called back to their first meeting and kept him from sacrificing himself and was rewarded in the end by a loving hand holding by Ren. Not to mention despite her filling Ren’s role in this episode, Nora still manages to be quirky by telling Ren not to look up her skirt. I say this because I just so happened to pause right before that ended and saw Nora smiling. She knew what she was doing.

And on Ren’s part we have him always acting as the anchor for Nora, constantly playing straight man to her antics as well as acting as her anchor so she doesn’t fly off the handle or, in episode 10, be scared. Here it displays what true love is: True love is puytting the otehr person first an dbecoming better for their sake. Ren and Nora are perfect for each other and I am officially throwing my lot in with Renora.

3. Ruby’s monologe. Many people say that Ruby Rose is an under developed character. And they are right, she is one of the least developed characters in RWBY. It’s a fact.

However, what she is not  is a bad character. Ruby Rose is a great character in the same vein as Jotaro Kujo: They are both tough characters. In her monlouge, I listened and realized just how much pain and suffering Ruby has been going through, just how much stress she’s had to endure.Just how much she has endured,  She has woken up everyday afraid of what will happen next, so far away from home and what she knew, what was safe. Ruby has fought against her fear and suffering for nearly NINE months. And yet, she keeps moving for4ward.,Not only that, she has learned to move beyond her fears and her pain and keep moving forward. Not just for her sake but for those she has lost. Essentially: Ruby turned her weakness into strength.

Again, I have only seen this kind of strength twice before. And those two were Noriko Tayaka and Simon The Digger, two of the biggest badasses in mecha anime. Simon’s anime, Gurren Lagann, helped inspire RWBY. So Ruby is just as strong as a character who her creator loved. Beautiful.

And with the monologe, I realized something: Ruby wasn’t just speaking about herself and the people she knew. Ruby was also speaking about US, the fans. How many times have we wished they would go back to Beacon and the formula of Volumes 1 and 2? How many times have we awoken on Saturday, praying that our characters would be fine? How many times have we thought about returning to what is safe instead of what is new? Rooster Teeth knew this and they wove their reassurance into the narrative by having Ruby act as a stand in for us and have her reassure us. Just as it os their duty to keep moving forward, it is our duty to do so as well!

Weiss: I murdered Nora last weekend!

Pyrrha: Uh-huh…uh-huh…

Weiss: Now that I have a taste for blood I can’t stop killing!

Pyrrha: Yes, of course, please excuse me…ice skating, tea party, scones and all that. Gotta go!

Weiss: Wait, come back! This conversation was just starting to get interesting! 😫

Pyrrha: I’m sorry, Jaune…you’re probably wondering why I’ve been so quiet all night…

Jaune: …uh…well…

Pyrrha: *on her feet and hammering on the glass* HEY REF!! GO GET THE ****** REMOVED FROM YOUR ***** AND MAYBE YOU’LL MAKE A DECENT CALL FOR ONCE IN YOUR ****ING LIFE!!!! 🤬

Jaune:

Pyrrha: *excitedly chattering*…and then the Mistral rookie player broke away and managed to pass THROUGH THE DEFENSEMAN’S LEGS to the team captain!

Jaune: *nodding along* Mm-hm…? 🙂

Pyrrha: But here’s the best part! Just when the goalie was setting up and the defenseman dropped to body-block the shot, the Mistral captain suddenly passed it back to the rookie, who sunk the shot for the game-winning goal!

Jaune: *gazing into Pyrrha’s eyes* I don’t know what she’s talking about anymore but she’s so pretty when she’s excited! 🥰

Blake: (Knows Jaune isn't listening) So, yeah, that's when I murdered him for talking bad about the White Fang.

Jaune: Mhm, as you do.

Blake: So now I'm going to head upstairs and cut the faces off all my human friends.

Jaune: Alright. Sounds good.

Blake: And I'm going to do it with a knife I have hidden between my butt-cheeks.

Jaune: Ah, sure thing, sure thing.

Blake: (Sighs, Gets up)

Jaune: Oh, and Blake?

Blake: What, Jaune?

Jaune: I'd swap out the knife for a more serrated blade. Makes the flesh-cutting easier AND don't forget to point the blade AWAY from your bootyhole.

Jaune: (Taps scroll, Lionize plays loudly)

Blake: ...
