Hobie's eyes finally flutter open, a quiet yawn escaping his lips. His eyes adjust to see you sitting above him, soft smile gracing your lips.

He had decided to find a secluded room at headquarters with you so he could get some much-needed rest. Poor thing had been out on a mission, and of course you practically begged him to get some rest.

That's how he found himself situated with his head resting on your lap. Your fingers were messing with his wicks, slow and careful movements helping him into a state of relaxation.

You also may have done something else, but that was for him to discover on his own.

"Morning, sleepyhead." You say quietly, letting Hobie adjust to being awake.

He muses in turn, hands finding yours to hold. "Mornin'"

You swear, his sleepy voice is something to swoon over in itself. His raspy morning voice was always just so attractive. And not many got to hear that. Lucky you, you get to hear the deep voice quite often.

"Sleep well?"

Hobie hums, rubbing his eyes before sitting up. He moves to hug you tightly, his normal stoic demeanor not entirely in tact. Instead, it was replaced with a different Hobie. This Hobie was more clingy than the other one, so of course you couldn't complain.

He yawns once more, head in your shoulder. "Gotta get out there soon."

“Poor you.” You say as you reach your hand to rub the back on his head. “Come over tonight, yeah? Then you can get more than an hour power nap.”

Hobie nods sleepily, letting out one last yawn before standing. He ruffles your hair with a soft smile. He’s grateful for how attentive you are to him. It’s one of the reasons he cares so deeply about you.

“I’ll see ya ‘n a li’tle, sweetheart.”

You smile and wave, a small laugh escaping your lips once he was out of earshot.

Of course you didn’t mention the adorable flowers you decorated his hair with. They fit so well into each wick to the scalp, you really couldn’t resist. They mismatched Hobie’s clothing and demeanor entirely. That’s what made it so great.

He’ll find out soon enough.

Hobie stuffed his hands into his vest pockets as he strolled through headquarters, head held high. His guitar was strung across his back and he wore his usual careless demeanor. He looked like he normally did.

Minus the pink flowers decorating his hair.

At first, he didn’t notice how everyone was looking at him oddly, or the smirks and giggles from other spider-people. He only noticed when he waved at Pavitr, who in turn waved then giggled himself.

“Somethin’ funny?”

Pavitr just shrugged as he walked away. Hobie just shook it off, chalking it up to his friend being himself. He always had something to laugh at, even if it wasn’t funny.

Walking further into headquarters, he noticed the funny looks and giggles he was getting. This truly wasn't normal, nobody normally dared to laugh at him like this. So what spiked their interest now?

Hobie made it to Miguel's area, seeing Gwen up ahead. "Aye Gwendy." He greeted.

"Hobie, hey!" She said excitedly, turning to her friend. Then a stifled laugh escaped her lips. "Well that's new."

Gwen already knew who the culprit of Hobie's colourful hair was. You had a habit of incorporating new aesthetics and colours into Hobie's everyday looks. It was charming in its own way, she thought.

Before Hobie could question her words, Miguel descended from his platform to give them assignments for the coming days. His back was turned to them as he started speaking.

"Hobie. Gwen. I need the two of you to take care of some dimensional anomalies these next few days." He continues speaking about the assignment before turning around, and groan and sigh escaping his throat. "Hobie. Really?"

Hobie raises an eyebrow. "Wha'? Somethin' wrong?"

"Your hair."

He narrows his eyes as he walks towards a shiny object off on the desk. He picks it up and holds it up to his hair, noticing a very distinct colour difference in his hair.

Pink?

He looks closer, noticing how small flowers were woven into his wicks, beautifully decorating his hair. Hobie sighed, yet couldn't stop a small smile from crossing his lips for a moment. He already knew you were guilty, you had a dopey grin when he woke up from his nap. You definitely found this amusing.

He turns back to Miguel. "Good stuff, right? Looks good to me."

Miguel rolls his eyes, waving off Hobie's comment as he finishes debriefing the two on the next couple of days. Once he was finished talking, Hobie thought about going back to the secluded room. But you were probably long gone by that point.

He couldn't bring himself to try to take the flowers out himself. They were pretty tightly in there, and he.. kind of enjoys them. Not the colour, by any means. But just the fact that they came from you was enough for him to sport them proudly for all other Spider-people to see.

He didn't admit that to you later that night.

"My my, who's this handsome fella?" You say with that same dopey smile. "Pink is so your colour, Hobes. Makes you look handsome as hell."

Hobie sighed as he flopped onto your bed, eyes narrowing amusingly. "Miguel wasn' amused. Got a couple of laughs, ya know."

"They were admiring my handiwork." You respond with a shrug, hands resuming their place in Hobie's hair. "Want me to take them out, darling?"

Hobie sat there for a moment, quiet. His eyes shut as he felt the way your nimble fingers worked on his head. It's like you were magic; always making him blissfully tired when you touch him like this. It was so addicting.

He could lie like this forever.

"Nah. 'eave 'em in a lit'le longer."

You smile as you laugh quietly, admiring the way Hobie relaxes underneath your touch. You're grateful he enjoyed his little surprise somewhat, even if he was laughed at by some others. The way he was okay with wearing them all day was enough to make your heart full.

“Whatever you say.” You whisper as Hobie’s mind lets him rest, falling into a peaceful and deep sleep.

You would definitely be doing that more often. New colours next time, for certain.

He moves closer to hear what's going on better, only for him to hear your niece begin to chant his name.

"Joon! Joon! Joon!"

"Good job baby!" Namjoon absolutely swoons, running up to you both and taking your niece from your arms, swinging her around as she claps her hands.

"So, we don't have any more fruit, but we do have some yogurt?" Jin questions as he turns to you, where you stand at the kitchen island holding your nephew on your hip.

"That'll work!" You exclaim, just happy there is something in the fridge your fruit hungry nephew will eat.

"Now, why don't you hold him while I get his high chair from the living room." You hand Jin your nephew and go to the living room, leaving your two favorite boys alone.

"Now, it'll be our little secret, huh?" Jin whispers to your nephew, handing him a small little spoonful of whip cream before reaching for the yogurt.

"Jinjinjinjin." You nephew babbles, but all Jin hears is his name.

"BAby! He said my name!" Jin yells out, your nephew still repeating his name to varying different cadences and tones.

"Oh yeah, ive been trying to teach him." Your nonchalant tone is ignored by him, as he jumps up and down with your nephew in excitement.

Yoongi

Daycare was filled with f many children but he couldn't find your niece. He was the one supposed to pick her up from daycare today, seeing as you had a last minute appointment.

"Hello, I'm here for (niece's name)." Yoongi say's to the first worker he can find, but is ignored in favor of the man chasing after a running toddler.

"Uh, okay." Yoongi just keeps moving forward, only to see your niece wobbling toward him, yelling his name, well, a version of it."

"Yooni. Yooni. Yooni." Oh my god, Yoongi doesn't think he's seen anything cuter than you, but maybe your niece wins this round.

"Hi, baby." He coos, picking her up in his arms and giving her a kiss on her temple.

"Did your auntie teach you my name?" He questions before humming to himself as he carries your niece and her bag to the door.

Hoseok

"Now, are you sure I'm doing this right, baby?"

"Yes Hobi, I promise." You watched as your husband tried to wrangle your nephew into his onesie for bed. It was a little funny for you, seeing as your nephew didn't want to go to bed and knew that you both were trying to get him to bed.

"Obi Obi Obi!" Your nephew chants in-between giggles, think his uncle was playing with him. His words stops Hoseok in his tracks, knowing your nephew was saying his name, or well, as best as he could.

Hoseoks, head whips around to look at you, a sheepish smile on your lips as your surprise for him kind of failed, but still ended up working.

"Uh, surprise?" You give him a grin, listening as your nephew continues to chant your husbands name.

It takes a couple more long minutes before your nephew is dressed and in bed before Hoseok is upon you and presses kiss after kiss on your lips in excitement and happiness.

Jimin

"Now, little one, say Minie." Jimin pleads with your niece again, trying to get her to say his name before she says your brothers name. He is determined to be the favorite uncle (even if you're not married yet).

She just continues to giggle, thinking he is playing a game with her as he bounces her up and down in his lap. His facial expressions of dramatic despair aren't really helping his plans either.

"Please, for uncle Minie" He tries again, only to get more giggling and a small hit to his cheek as a reply.

You can't help but feel a little bad for your fiancé. So you decide to show him what you've been working on the past couple weeks when he was away on tour.

"Alright, babygirl. Why don't we show uncle Minie what we've been working on, huh?" You sit behind Jimin, leaning on his shoulder as your niece listens and reveals your surprise.

"My Minie!" She practically screams at him as she jumps at him, almost knocking him back from the force of her excitement.

Jimin's eyes are wide, mouth open in shock as holds her to his chest. It takes him a couple of seconds, but then he moves quickly, holding both you and your niece in his arms and almost bouncing in excitement.

Taehyung

"You know, love, I don't think I'm doing this right?" You turn away from stirring the soup on the stove to see your nephew literally hanging and swinging from your boyfriend's arm.

You can't help but let out a small laugh at the expression of confusion on your boyfriend's face, and the happiness on your nephew's.

You turn back around, turning the stove off and moving the soup to let it cool down before turning back to your two guys, watching as your nephew tries to climb up onto Taehyung's shoulders.

"tae tae tae tae tae." Your nephew repeats, something you're not sure your boyfriend can even hear as he talks over your nephew.

"Is he supposed to do this? How is he this strong already? Doesn't he need to take a nap?" Your boyfriend just continues to ramble, unsure of himself until he stops.

"TAE!" Your nephew is yelling now, pulling at his hair, trying to get his attention.

"Did he just say what I think he said?" Taehyung's eyes are wide, his body frozen as he stares over at you, now noticing the smile growing on your lips.

"I taught him how to say your name while you were out with Jungkook."

As soon as those words leave your lips, Taehyung, with your nephew still clinging to him, moves over and cups your cheeks, kissing you deeply on the lips causing a noise of disgust to leave your nephews lips.

Jungkook

"Do it again!"

"Please, (nephew's name)!" Jungkook pleads with your nephew as he walks into the room, holding your nephew against his chest and walking your way.

"Show your aunt what you did, please!" Jungkook continues his pleading, making the grin on your nephews lips grow wider as he enjoys the "game" they're playing.

"What did he do, exactly?" You question, the side of your lip tilted up as you try not to smile, knowing exactly what your nephew was doing, you having put him up to it.

"He said my name!" Jungkook exclaimed, excitement lacing his tone as he looks at you.

"Oh, did he?" You question teasingly, pretending you don't believe him.

"Yes!" He turns back to your nephew, "Now, don't be shy, show auntie what you did?"

It seems your nephew had enough teasing, and decided it was time to say it again.

"Kookie!" Your nephew claps his hands, proud of himself as Jungkook bounces him in his arms, happy that he didn't imagine what happened.

"See!"

"Yes, baby. I see." You smile at your favorite men.

You were at the beach with Hobie, Gwen, Peter, Miles, Pav, and a few other friends. You knew Miles and the others because you were the big sister of his friend, and you thought of him like a little brother. He invited you to the beach with him, and his friends.

"Come in the water, Y/N!" Miles yelled.

You were sitting on a beach towel letting the sun hit your skin. You shook your head. You always had a weird unsettling feeling about the ocean. So you usually didn't play in the ocean.

"Come on love~! Don't be a pussy!" Hobie yelled.

You rolled your eyes. He always messed with you like this. He thought he was so funny. You close your eyes and try to lie in the sun again. That was until you felt a pair of strong wet arms pick you up. It was Hobie, and he threw you over his shoulder.

"Hobie! Put me down now!" You tried to squirm your way out of his grip.

"No can do~ you can't be the only one to not get in the ocean, mate!" He laugh.

You whined. He walked into the water and set you down.

"See was that so bad?" He said

You roll your eyes before getting splashed with water. You groaned and looked at Pav who had a grin on his face. You had just got your hair done, and your hair was ruined now.

"Pav!" You yelled, leaping after him and playfully pushing him into the water.

Everything was fine, and you were playing with everyone. Your fears about the ocean started to wash away..until.

You had been running farther and farther away from shore. You and the others were having the classic water-splashing fight. You were all laughing until you heard them all yelling and pointing.

"Y/N! Watch out!" They all screamed.

But it was too late. You turned to see a huge..no monstrous wave coming your way, and it swept you under. You panicked as the current from the water pulled you farther and farther from shore. Your body flailed as the waves kept going over your head. You were yelling for help at first but couldn't anymore. You thought it was all over. You'd seen all over those stories of people drowning at sea. You thought that was going to be you until a pair of strong arms grabbed you. You were just barely conscious, and you were so scared your eyes were blurry. You felt whoever saved you swim to the shore and set you down away from the sea.

"Dios mío, Are you okay?" He asked patting your back as you coughed up water.

You coughed and coughed before looking up at your savior. It was a 6'9 extremely buff guy with brown eyes with the slightest hint of red.

"I..I" you didn't know what to say.

Your body was shaking as all your friends came over to check on you. You were still shocked. So he picked your up bridal style.

"I'm going to get someone to take over my turn so I can get her to the clinic over there." He said.

You simply cling to him. You don't why but being in his arms was comforting. He walks into the clinic and sets you on the bed. The nurse wasn't there, but luckily he knew what to do.

"..That must've scared you..." he trails off realizing he doesn't know your name.

"...Y/N..my name is Y/N" you mumbled to him.

"Well Y/N, I'm glad I got to you on time. I'm Miguel." He said as he continued to check on you.

You stare at him and quietly obliged to whatever he told you to do. After he checked everything he needed to him crouch down to your level.

"You're okay now." He said with a small smile.

You nod and come out of the room after he tells you, you can go. You immediately saw all your friends perk up and run over to you engulfing you in a hug.

"Y/N! Are you okay?" They all asked.

"I'm...okay" you nod.

Even though you had almost drowned moments ago. The only thing on your mind was that lifeguard...Miguel. Your mind raced with him.

Miguel was feeling the same way you were. He felt wrong for the way he was thinking about you...about your body. He couldn't help it. You were so beautiful, and exactly what he was attracted to.

The next weekend passed, and you agreed to come back to the beach on the condition that you stayed nowhere near the water. So you were far from the water laying in the sand. You were just staring out into space when you noticed him. He was shirtless, and the sun complimented his body so well. Your jaw dropped, and you just stared. That was until he came to you.

"Ah..Y/N, how are doing? Better than last week i presume?" He asked.

"Mhm! I'm doing better thank you for asking," you said with a small grin.

That marked the first time you and Miguel would talk and you weren't in a dangerous situation moments before. For the next couple of weekends, you'd agree to go to the beach (staying away from the water of course). When you went Miguel miraculously would show up, and you two would make small talk as your friends played in the water.

It had been about 4 weeks of that small talk, and 'random' Miguel pop-ups. You and Miguel had gotten closer. You and he exchanged numbers and would talk from time to time. When Miguel spotted you as always. This time he saw you staring at the water. Your chest rising and falling at an uneven pace. Your eyes wavering every time a wave came up. As much as he hated to admit it even like this you looked as amazing as always. If he was being honest he had a shift at the beach every other weekend but he'd show up just to see you. He couldn't miss the chance to see you. That beautiful melanated skin that seems to sparkle in the sunlight. Those alluring plump lips that were glazed with lip gloss. Everything about you attracted him.

"Hi, Cariño. Are you okay?" He asks sitting next to you.

"Yea..im..okay" you mumbled still staring straight into the water.

The water looked terrifying all you could remember was that helpless feeling. Your body is being dragged underwater, and your vision getting blurry. Your body trembled at the memory. You didn't snap out of it until you felt a large hand on your shoulder.

"Y/N~" Miguel said for what seemed to be the the 30th time.

"..Ah! Sorry..Hi Miguel" you said turning your attention to him.

"Are you okay?" He asked.

"...I...no..I keep remembering that time. I just..I'm scared." You murmured.

"Do you want me to help you get over your fear?" He questioned.

"Help me?" Your head tilted.

"Yes, I'll help you get in the water again. If we're being honest...I didn't have work this week...or the weekend before last weekend. I just wanted to see you." He said flashing a small nervous smile.

"Aww~ you want to see me that bad~" you teased.

"...Yes." he said.

Since that day Miguel said he'd help you. You and he would meet up on the weekends he didn't have work.

Week 1 of "getting over Y/N's fear"

"Since you can't get in yet you just sit near it." He stated.

Your body trembled so he put his hand on your shoulder.

"Nothing will happen to you. I promise." He comforted you.

You nod and put your stuff by the water to where the water washed up and would hit your feet.

Week 2 of "get over Y/N's fear"

"Okay, this time we're going to try to sit on your shore. Can you do that?" He asked in a soft tone.

You look at the water, and a shiver went down your spine.

"..I dunno Miguel." You said voice wavering.

You felt his hand grab yours, and you looked over to him.

"...maybe this will help you feel better..." he said.

You nod and this time he sits you on the shore with him and the water splashes up on your lower body as you sat down. Your body was trembling slightly. That memory of you thrashing in the water was almost burned into your brain.

You feel Miguel wrap his arm over your waist. You look at him and he rambled about it being to comfort you.

Week 3 of "get over Y/N's fear"

Now that you could go to the shore and let the water hit you. Miguel thought maybe you should get used to playing around the water. He told you to bring some friends so you could play games with them.

"You've been talking to that lifeguard ever since...?" Miles asked he threw the Frisbee.

You nod, and Hobie smirks.

"...you like him," Hobie stated blankly.

You glare and began to chase him. Miguel had no idea what you were chasing Hobie foe but he was glad your mind was off the water.

Week 4 of "get over Y/N's fear"

For 4 weeks Miguel has been helping you however he could. This time he said he wanted to take you in the water. He said you could hold on to him so you wouldn't me as scared.

He brought you to the shore like he usually would and went farther in. The moment the water reached your thigh your legs wrapped around Miguel's waist. He held you tightly as you clung on to him with your eyes closed.

"Hermosa, open your eyes." He said softly.

You were terrified but you decided to trust him. Your eyes creaked open slowly, and you saw the blue water surrounding you. You didn't tremble as much due to Miguel being there.

"Let's do something to take your mind off of the water. Let's get to know each other more." He said with a soft smile. Totally wasn't his attempt to flirt with you

"Okay.." you nod.

And for about 15 minutes you and him exchanged answers and would answer them. You laughed at Miguel who threw in jokes from time to time. You had forgotten all about the water until some splashed and hit you and Miguel.

"Ah! I forgot we were even in the fuckin' water" you said with a small laugh.

"That means my method is working," Miguel said.

Week 5 of "get over Y/N's fear"

Miguel decided to give you a break. So you and him threw the Frisbee back and forth as you told embarassing stories from you childhood.

"Really?!" You laughed.

Miguel chuckled and confirmed whatever wild story he told you. You and him were playing until something exciting happened. He threw the Frisbee a little too high, and you were running backwards to get it. You jumped back and caught it. Little did you realize you were in the water.

"I caught it-" You were yelling them trailed off. You felt your hair dripping and that's when you realized you were in the water.

You didn't feel your body tremble you didn't feel any more fear than a normal person would. You flashed a smile at Miguel.

"AH! I'm not scared anymore." You yelled as Miguel's eyes widen.

You saw him grin and run to you picking you up and embracing you.

"See! I told you, Mami." He said with a grin.

It was only a few seconds into the embrace. When you realized you were in the air, and your legs were wrapped around his waist. You lean back and stare at him. His reddish-brown eyes shining in the sun. You don't know what happened after that. All you know is your lips connected as he pulled you into a soft yet passionate kiss. You grin after you both pull away.

"...Do you wanna go on a date with me sometime?" He asked flashing a toothy but nervous grin.

"Sure..." you smile.

When you went home, to say you were excited was a understatement. Instead of getting of your fear of the water which wasn't really a fear anymore. You were going on a date with Miguel. Could that weekend get any better.

Alondra, I loved the Thanksgiving Nonviolent Communication Drabble!! This was just so sweet to read, especially with seeing Miguel and readers' friendship really show now that they’re starting to feel more comfortable being with one another. The fact they have dinner every Saturday now!! 🥹 and when Miguel can’t help but smile when he sees reader working with him 😭 and when he blushes a bit when reader compliments him and his cooking! its just too cute!! I can't help but say thank you every time you include the coffee cup detail, I just smile so much when I read it! The whole interaction of them trying to ask each other to have dinner with one another for Thanksgiving??!! I was giggling so much reading that, too cute! and Lyla just absolutely helping with the conversation 😂 I love how their conversations have also gotten more causal, in the way that they banter more, Miguel smiling more!! I also just love their friendship!!

The messages with the gang was so cute too, and omg this line “The whole government name...” from Hobie when Miguel finally responds 🤣 but the fact Miguel was actually open to invite everyone over for dinner too 🥹 I love how we're seeing him open up a bit more now that he's really trying to change for the better, and its just so nice seeing it come into fruition slowly. I’m so happy that Miguel is making so many new wonderful memories in his penthouse!! I keep mentioning this but I smile so much every time they say “always” to each other, I’ll never get over it! ❤️

The conversation with Peter B- first I love the way you write him too, you capture his personality really well! and just- he knows that this friendship between you and Miguel is special 🥹 and I know he's rooting for them too!! ok and the reference to Lyla's secret stash of photos 😂 of course they're appropriate photos only, right? (I love how you write Lyla too! her little quips with Miguel is always funny!!) The ending of this was really sweet too, despite Miguel holding back still with physical touch, the day that one of them comforts the other physically- I'm going to freak out (in a good way) but I still love the slowburn of it all!! I can't wait to read more and see their friendship evolve!!! I hope this doesn’t sound too cheesy but I’m thankful for coming across your story on here and just- thank you everything, and for continuing to write Nonviolent Communication, especially with how busy it can be this time of year!! Hi @sunsetdoodler !! I'm so happy you loved the drabble!! I had a lot of fun writing this for different reasons, one being I just wanted a sweet and comforting moment for Thanksgiving with Miguel. Then it was also fun because it's very lighthearted compared to what I've been writing for part 11. On top of that, it was fun thinking about what their friendship looked like at this point of the year when part 11 takes place 4+ months before. Lowkey feel sad I didn't get part 11 out before then because now we'll have to jump back in time 😮‍💨 but AHH I loved the progress in their friendship and as you said, how much more casual their conversations are on top of the fact they have dinner every Saturday (I just love it so much!!). Also, Miguel throughout this entire drabble was SUCH A TREAT. I loved writing him looking at reader behind his shoulder and smiling; blushing when reader compliments him; and him cooking all of dinner (I also loved including that he had already bought everything 😭). And omg, the coffee cup detail!! I will include it as many times as I can because I love it even though it's such a small thing but so important!! Haha, the part with them talking in unison to ask each other about dinner and Lyla knowing what's going and just taking the opportunity to tease them- I had to!! I don't include Lyla a lot in the main parts but I wanted to for this and it was so much fun adding her teasing to the drabble (especially her clapping at the end for them and Miguel telling her to shut up!!

Also, the messages from the gang! I had so much fun with those! You can tell because I even went in and color coded them as much as I could with the colors Tumblr has to their assigned colors; my favorite one to do was Hobie's for the inconsistency! 🤣 The "full government name" line - the way I knew I needed to include that and have Hobie say it! Definitely one of my favorite things about this drabble, not gonna lie! I also love that Miguel found it amusing! Regarding Miguel being open to inviting them, SAME! Once again, it was fun to think of where Miguel is at months in advance (seriously, I'm upset I didn't put part 11 out sooner) and have him being open to inviting them to his home and making a new memory in his penthouse (I just want this man to feel happy in his own home, I swear 😭)! And their little "Always"! I've been feeling like maybe I'm including it too much but I love it so much because it's theirs, just for each other, so I'll just continue using it.

I'm so happy you liked Peter B's conversation and the way I wrote him! I was actually nervous about it because I haven't included much dialogue for the other spider members and I always like to keep it as close as possible to how I think they'd actually speak. So, I was literally writing that part yesterday and playing around with the structure of his statement to see what made sense while hearing Jake Johnson's voice in my head (I didn't mind it one bit because I love him but it was kind of funny I was sitting there writing this in between breaks while cooking with my family lol)! But yes, he knows it's a special friendship and he's definitely rooting for them (so is Mayday, hehe 😌)! As to Lyla's secret stash of photos - we can only hope but we're not too sure right now. Miguel has tried to look for the file but can't find it so I guess only time will tell 😂 but omg, no, writing Lyla for this drabble was so much fun, I swear! I wish I could include her more in the main series but most times reader and Miguel are having serious conversations and so it just doesn't feel right to include her sassiness but maybe now that reader and Miguel are more casual with each other, that might change! And thank you, it seriously makes me so happy that you like the way I wrote her and Peter B.!

Omg, Miguel thinking about physical touch and that whole little part just made me wish we were there already but we must remain strong! It's coming soon but not yet. I already have that part planned out and just thinking about it makes me want to scream in a good way because before we get to that good screaming part there's gonna be sad screaming and that's all I'm going to say about that but just know - reader and Miguel having intentional and full on physical contact is coming soon!!!

I like to think they still keep this kind of interaction but it's more friendly now especially with reader being what ties them together lol)! AND THEN MIGUEL IN AN APRON!!!! No because why does Miguel wearing an apron sound so comforting to me???? AND HIM DRYING HIS HANDS - I swear I'm delusional for going mad over the most basic things ever but AHHHH!! Thank you for drawing these sketches and showing them to me!!!! I LOVE EACH ONE SO MUCH 😭❤️ Also, I love Lyla at the top just watching this unfold hehe, I swear I need to include her more in the main parts but THANK YOU SO MUCH @sunsetdoodler !!!!! The themes of growing up, and Miles' parents being worried about Miles and the people he's with...I nearly cried in the theatre, and I don't normally cry during stuff.

You can just tell that black people were making the big decisions for this movie. Aaron and Rio asking Miles why he took the braids out. Jeff and Rio being like "On time means 5 minutes early", I felt so at home watching this movie. I'm not even from Brooklyn but I just felt so at home at all the interactions Miles had with his neighbors. Even the random storeowner.

Like ppl were speaking aave, using patois, Hobie's accent. And none of that was played for laughs (except for Hobie's lingo but that's a little different bc he's British)

I love how Miles' Ganke is so different from Peter Parker's Ganke. It's such a fun detail how Miles' Ganke was like "I'm not gonna be your guy in the chair".

I love that despite the general "Canon" for Spider Man, there are some differences! I love those intricate details!

And the way the lady in the office was so hasty to force the narrative of them "struggling" when that really wasn't the case? Hit real close to home. I just love the Davis-Morales family

I love the way that the Spot isn't like a general "mildly bad" villain like I originally assumed. I really thought he'd be kind of a "setup" villain, or something that they'd have to clean up and THEN Miles would take care of Miguel and them.

I especially love the way that The Spot is someone from the first movie, who we don't even know until his backstory is brought up.

His voice is also perfect too. He sounds like a complete loser.

On the subject of the Spider Verse I think it's so cool how there were so many callbacks to the original canon of Spiderman! I loved seeing the og live action Spider Men in the film too!

-despite the fact that hobie HATES labels, i think he'd put a label on your relationship with him because um, ackshewally he doesn't belive in consistency so 🥸 -but seriously though i don't think he'd hate the idea of labeling a relationship -while hobie would def give you a piggyback if u asked for it, i can just imagine hobie pestering u to give him a piggy back on long missions (if you're a spider person) and since he's so tall and lanky it would look so funny with his legs sticking all the way out infront of you 😭😭 -yk how hobie turns pink around ppl he cares about such as mayday and miles? whenever he's around you it would be the same but i also had a thought that he'd turn a darker shade of pink + a lighter pink that represents his romantical feelings for you + his platonic feelings for you because he just cares about u sm in general not just romantically -i know almost every hobie writer has said this but yes he would absolutely make his own gifts for you and they would be sick asf -like he'd make accessories for u or maybe even a matching vest for u with a ton of pins on it like hobies omg how cute?!?!😱😱 -he'd give you a lot of good advice but would also encourage you to go apeshit and break rules (like he did for miles) cause everyone needs that kind of person in their life and that is most definitely hobie brown -hobie is a funny guy and a good amount of your time spent with him is just you laughing your ass off and telling him to stop BUT HE KEEPS ADDING ONTO THE JOKE AND UR DYING LIKE "LET mE BREATHE AKSJRF" -while hobie has an elite sense of humor it would be very hard to get hobie to laugh really hard unless you tickle him or something (would hobie be ticklish? idk 🤷‍♀️)  but i feel like most people would only be able to get a chuckle out of him -but, on a very rare occasion you'd have him shitting his pants cause he's laughing so hard (NOT ACTUALLY SHITTING 😨😨 unless ur into that?? 😟🤔) cause of some random funny joke u made or just you being funny in general -hobie would introduce you to so many cool people and places and honestly being with him as an s/o or just a friend would be an absolute blast (unless ur his cannon event then idk what to tell u 😶 but let's be honest half the people on tumblr would do it anyways)

I feel like he’d be slightly confused and worried at first because he’s not sure what to do/how to help you, but once you explain a bit more, he gets a lot more comfortable, and really is such a good caregiver when he needs to be.

The softest boi🥺 He was honestly a little scared when you first told him, because he didn’t want to do anything wrong and was worried he wouldn’t be ‘good’ at looking after you, but he quickly relaxed and grew more confident as he learned more from you.

The best comforter when you’re feeling overwhelmed or depressed, full of quiet reassurances and long hugs(if you’re okay with those). He’ll gladly cuddle with you under your weighted blanket for however long you need to feel better.

Literally set up a little “nest” for you at his place with a like beanbag chair and your favorite types of blankets/pillows, so you have your own place to just ‘be’ and recoup when you need it.

Carries fidget toys and sensory aids like sunglasses and headphones with him at all times, just in case you need them.

Really good at communicating with you on days when you’re nonverbal, whether through texts or little notes(which he always adds little doodles on to make your smile😊)

Makes sure you never feel guilty or like a burden to him for letting him in on those tougher days. If anything, they make him love you even more because of the trust you have in him.

UGH Jinnie's birthday he's such a sweet darling, I love that he was able to go out somewhere yummy to eat and spend time with everyone. SPOILER REVIEW FOR ACROSS THE SPIDER VERSE BELOW THE CUT

1000000/10, best movie, go see it immediately, Spider-Man my beloved 💖💖💖

- The Visuals

• Holy shit guys, this might be THE best animated movie ever created. They took the visuals and art styles from the first movie and cranked it up to 10,000!!

• Seeing all the Spider people in different art forms had my eyes glued to the movie, there were so many Easter eggs and nods to other popular Spiders, I know I didn’t see them all!

• The backgrounds were absolutely gorgeous! My personal favorite being the ones from Gwen’s universe, almost every shot had different colors in the background and it was just mesmerizing!

• They did a fantastic job distinguishing each universe from one other by using different color schemes and art styles, even when some of them looked similar, you could tell there was something different!

- The Characters

• They definitely go all in on character development in this film, they wanted to give everyone more character and personality and backstory. We’re missing a few of our Spider friends from the first film but they’re replaced with some new faces!

• Miles, the absolute GOAT, was such a great protagonist in this film. We spend a lot more time with his family this time around and they didn’t shy away from the slow and heavy moments. His mom even gets more of a role in this movie and she was great! He’s only 15 y/o in this movie and absolutely outsmarted every single other Spider at one point which was great to watch! There’s a plot point in the movie concerning Miles that will absolutely break your heart 😭

• Gwen gets a lot more screen time than in ITSV, she’s a stand out character in this movie! We get to see the relationship she has with her dad and get to go more in depth about how she lost her Peter! And I’m happy they didn’t rely too heavily on the romantic aspects between Gwen and Miles, but they touched on it and it was incredibly sweet!

• Miguel O’Hara my beloved!!! (I’m an Oscar Isaac stan, Moon Knight was the best Marvel tv show, fight me on it, lmao) I wouldn’t consider Spider-Man 2099 a villain, but he made a very good antagonist to Miles, he was very threatening! He didn’t get a very in-depth back story but you were given just enough information to sympathize with his pain. Something seemed fishy about his story, maybe I’m reading too much into it, but I’m hopeful they dive into it more in the sequel!

• SPIDER-PUNK, HOBIE BROWN OMG, what a fantastic new addition, he’s such a fucking anarchist and it’s great! He speaks in a thick cockney accent and I love his rebellious nature, he don’t give two shits about what anybody thinks! His character’s look might be the most impressive in the film, apparently it took animators 3 years to make him look the way he did!!

• Pavitr Prabhakar, baby boy, sunshine!! He’s a little cocky but in a cute way! His home of Mumbattan was SO GOD DAMN COLORFUL! I honestly wished he had more screen time because he was super funny and HIS HAIR, SO FLUFFY AND SOFT!!!

• Everyone’s favorite Peter B Parker makes a return! I can say he didn’t have as big of a role in the film as ITSV but he was still great regardless! And now he has a baby girl named Mayday!! And he kept trying to show everyone pictures of her like an actual new parent would lol.

• Jessica Drew is also a new character! She was super badass with her Spider Cycle! AND she was pregnant the whole movie which is even more badass! (Also, side note, when Gwen asked about her pregnancy, I really appreciated that Jess said that they she didn’t know the sex of the baby instead of saying gender, it was small but I liked that little detail!)

• Spot, the main villain of this movie (and the next) was interesting! If I had any real complaints about this movie, it would be that Spot was not in this movie as much as I hoped. I understand why because this is the first part of a 2-part movie, but by the end of the movie, he shows up and I was like “Oh yeah, Spot, where the hell has he been??” But he technically is a character we’ve seen before (I don’t wanna say who because it’s actually funny who he turns out to be!) He starts out being kind of goofy but he gets very threatening!

• There are bunch of other minor characters that I won’t go too deep into but my favorite minor character had to be Ben Riley, he was made to be super over dramatic and stated really obvious things while he was on patrol, got a few laughs out of me!

- The Plot

• Babes, the story is so good in this. I don’t want to give EVERYTHING away cuz I want y’all to see it for yourselves but I will say that this is a 2-parter! There is a “to be continued” at the end of the movie just so you’re prepared!

• The basic premise is that the Spiders have to take down Spot because he’s hopping to different dimensions, making himself more powerful. Spot has a personal grudge against Miles and wants to take away everything from him. You can tell from the trailers that Miles is trying to defy Miguel and what he’s doing, which ends up going in a very suspenseful direction! Again, not going to spoil everything, but it’s just such a great story!

• Like I said, they focus more heavily on family dynamics in the sequel which I loved! More time with Jeff and Rio which was nice to see, Rio has a great talk with Miles during the movie and it was so heartfelt! Gwen and her dad have a few scenes together too, it’s a really great relationship to watch unfold. Gwen and Miles have some great character moments together, but of course it’s not all positive!

• The dynamic between the different Spiders is a blast as well! I was never bored with this movie, it kept me engaged even during the non-action sequences because they did a great job making you care about these characters!

• This movie clocks in at almost 2 1/2 hours but I promise you, you’re not gonna feel that time. I did not want this movie to end! They throw so much at you but at the same time, you’re gonna leave wanting more!

• Where this movie ends is…wow!! I can say I definitely didn’t see it coming until a few seconds before they revealed what was going on, and I sat there and just went “oh…oh no…” for the last 10-15 minutes lol. And apparently the sequel will be out next year! And thank God cuz I could not wait another 3 years!

• A heads up! There aren’t any end credit scenes so you don’t have to stay for those! The only thing that happens after the initial credits is text appearing saying “Miles Morales will return in…” and it gives you the next movie title (won’t say what it is!)

- Miscellaneous (mostly Easter eggs and cameos)

• There were so many GOD DAMN Easter eggs in this film, it’s insane! I know I’ll have to watch it a few more times if I want to catch everything the put in here! There is def one cameo that stands out above everything else (I won’t say who, but you’ll know when you see him 😏)

• They actually showed very brief scenes from Toby Maguire and Andrew Garfield’s movies which caught me completely by surprise, but I sure as shit was happy about it!!

• They don’t show any scenes from Tom Holland’s Spider-Man (which I understand cuz Marvel 🙄) BUT they make two references to it, one with a line from Miguel and with the cameo I mentioned previously!

• The Spectacular Spider-Man had a fucking voice line and I almost passed out, like I watched the shit out of that show, I was so happy he was included! They also showed the PS4/PS5 version of Spider-Man which I thought was pretty funny!

- Final Thoughts

• Peak cinema! The story, the characters, the visuals…all incredible! Go watch it right now immediately!!
