the first time your daughter calls him daddy, sae has to get up and leave the room for a little bit. she doesn't notice, still playing with her toys (new and noisy from rin, the bastard), but you do.

"sae?" you call softly, padding down the hallway.

"in here."

you nudge open the door to your daughter's room, where the flickering nightlight is making sae's shadow dance against the wall.

he's tracing a long, elegant finger over the ridge of her favorite present from rin, a ratty giraffe she's had since the cradle. the set of his mouth is strange; you can't see his eyes.

"are you okay?"

"i'm fine."

"you don't have to pretend."

he glances back at you. his long lashes flutter against the curve of his cheek; his teal eyes shine, the tropical sea beneath the sun.

"i'm not pretending."

"then what is it?"

"would you have kept her from me forever?"

cold curls up your spine, frost creeping from bone to bone. "i don't know," you say, a little bit helpless.

he watches you for a moment. his handsome face is impassive; he could be carved from stone. then he's brushing past you, heading back to the living room.

"sae—"

he doesn't look back.

Yk what I want? I want a very early stages post canon labrumisu, but from Chilchuck's POV.

Imagine mister 'interparty romance is the devil' visiting court just to see these three circling each other like a pack of uniquely unhinged cats. And of course he sees it immediately, he's nothing if not perceptive and he's seen this happen so, so many times before. Kabru is hardly subtle in his fascination with Laios, who trusts him in turn more than nearly anybody else. He can see how close Mithrun and Kabru still are, even when there's little reason for the former captain to even stay in Melini. He can see where this is going. And he can see the disaster it's gonna end up in.

So he's just staring at them in horror, trying to figure out what in the world the dynamic here even is and glaring daggers at Kabru all the while for seemingly being the linchpin of this entire bullshit situation. King, his adviser and a fucking foreign noble?? Who thought THAT was a good idea! Is nobody else seeing this?? (no lol) Why is nobody objecting to this politically unsound love triangle that could literally ruin the kingdom they've only just established??

The anger! The distress! The despair when he first sees Laios getting all giddy when Mithrun so much as talks to him. Because hell, now he can't even blame the entire situation on one pretty boy insisting on having fingers in every possible pie, on political and personal level both!

And then they just. Quietly get together. All three of them. And Chil's just watching from the sidelines in complete bafflement because he's invented infinite worst case scenarios for how this will implode in all of their faces and destroy their friend group and topple the entire country and--

Instead they do. This. He'd be relieved if he wasn't so goddamn mad that he's spent months worrying about this shit just for them to resolve it in the least dramatic way possible.

Fuck this, he's taking a holiday.

11. Is there a character your OC sees as a sibling?

Kinda! Epel is someone she can't resist viewing as a rowdy little brother, much to his possible annoyance. She also sometimes jokingly calls him "aniki" (even though he's younger) and he's a bit unsure how to feel about it.

20. What chapter does your OC get the most personal character development?

Okay so, I've planned for the majority of her character development to actually have happened before she even arrived in Twisted Wonderland, so in terms of during the chapters it's kind of "none of them" (boring answer I know). I do plan to one day drop her lore ideally in manga/comic form, so let's hope I can learn how to draw manga... sooner rather than later 💀 the text version is already written so it really is just a matter of my art skills needing to catch up

Recently I was roleplaying with one nyen bot, and in the process I wrote a little tasty (in my opinion) thing. So, when I finished the text, I imagined what randal might look like. And here I am, trying to portray him as deadly serious and annoyed

going on tumblr to see a picture of a real corpse labelled "my first corpse ❤". it has 50k notes and was posted yesterday. it is tagged "found this in the woods and took a picture with my new camera" even though the corpse is clearly in someone's basement. the notes are filled with people talking about how the corpse is their favourite character, how the corpse is just like them, how they felt sorry that everyone was turning op's post into fandom talk instead of appreciating the art. no one seems to be even slightly concerned that a picture of a very real corpse was being spread around on tumblr. you try to call the police and after saying you saw a corpse on tumblr the person on the line excitedly tells you that they like your shoelaces.

you hang up and delete your account.

my sayu take is that she was doing perfectly fine having friends being social getting decent grades until her big brother moved out to live with his girlfriend and now all of a sudden she has both of her parents' scrutiny on her and she knows they're just worried but it doesn't feel any less suffocating so she starts studying harder and acting more mature while she feels worse and worse because she will never live up to her big brother who every day feels less like how she remembers him and more like a hollow shell of himself and in her worst moments she wants to say i'm sorry i'm not good enough i'm sorry i'm not him* but most of the time she is normal until of course mello kidnaps her and everything goes to hell

*but also it annoys me when people say she idolizes him, i don't think it's to that extent, light is just her annoyingly smart older brother. she doesn't want to be him she just wants her parents to be happy and they're clearly not without someone-like-light there. you know?
