[A/N: I know this chapter is short, only around 2k words, but I promise next one will be longer and updated as soon as possible as my schedule is almost stabilized now]
Chapter seven
“I’d rather not know.”
“so this is where you guys are. such a drag.”
Yui has never been happier in her life until now to see Shu. what a right timing!
“Shu-san!” yes she was very happy.
“drop it, you guys left me alone to deal with all that troublesome nonsense, I had to use my precious stored energy to wave them off. how are you gonna compensate for it?” Shu glared at them, but too lazy. He really had to go around the circles to dodge those noisy girls.
“well the girls targeted you, so as you said, just remove the root of the problem, we ran away.” Shin hmphed as he was feeling tired, maybe because he felt relaxed after a really long time.
“Let's go home Yui, I'm tired. We can buy the dress another day” Shu said as he had enough. It was a long day for him.
“hmm what is that?” Shin ignored Shu and asked Yui, as he pointed at a ice cream van having a poster of ‘new nuts & crunch scoop’
the word nuts always attracted him.
“oh… looks like a new flavour of ice cream containing nuts. it looks delicious” Yui answered.
“of course it will, after all it's nuts. I’ll go get it” Shin ran to the van before his favourite flavour got sold out.
Yui watched how his strawberry hair bounced as he happily ran away like a child.
‘Does a wolf eat cereal? That also nut flavoured?’ She peeked at the animal as her eyes softened when she noticed it’s fur color. At first it was dark so she didn’t notice but it’s pink at a near glance. Baby pink? No strawberry pink? No, it's ginger pink, just like Shin. What’s weird is that the wolf also has an eye-patch like him.
…
Over and over again she has been ignoring the signs.
Why are founders suddenly quiet? It's been a little while since their last attack.
‘I'd rather not know’
“Let’s go Shu-san” without waiting, she left.
– Yui's room, Sakamaki mansion:
This is so unfair… just when she was finally happy… or maybe she is just overthinking it. Maybe the founders are planning something big that’s why they suddenly went quiet.
Yui tremblingly hugged her wolf plushie resembling Shin to ward off all the negative thoughts and fall asleep in this mess.
She thought she’ll at least be at peace in her dreams, but no, she suddenly found herself in school infirmary with the same ringing noise like in those other dreams. But this time there was someone standing in front of her.
“No need- bother- it’ll be unnec-sary- to return ‘home’ -anymore”
“now- my pro-rty
“Don’t compa- to them- i’m a founde- **i* **u****mi”
the ringing noise was starting to become louder and the cut off sentences were beginning to disappear. Even the unknown man faded into thin air.
She was now totally surrounded by darkness, alone, with the ringing noise…. and an inaudible echo.
“Eve.. are y**- rem****ring?”
– Dungeon, Tsukinami mansion:
Waking up in the dungeon after a long time was not in Shin’s to-do-list after having a good time with Yui.
It was hazy and all he remembers is coming home to his angry brother and ending up in the dungeon.
“You are finally awake, Shin?”
Speak of the devil. The word Shin was highlighted coldly and he knew what it meant. Taking a deep breath, he slowly looked up.
“....”
Carla narrowed his eyes and put a hand over his forehead, sweeping the bangs, while looking at his younger brother.
“Over and over again you had enough opportunities to capture her and bring her here, yet you decided not to. Are you waiting for the eclipse to get over?”
Low angry voice. Shin isn't surprised.
“Nii-san I… I was trying to win her trust so that she won’t be a nuisance initially-”
“It's not needed. Her trust is not needed, she’ll be a nuisance anyways. We bring her here, cleanse her blood and continue our lineage.”
“5 days. I’m giving you 5 days to bring her here before I myself decide to interfere in this troublesome matter.”
Without giving Shin a chance to speak, Carla left the dungeon to let his brother continue his punishment.
5 days… the prom is also in 5 days, what a coincidence or not. His brother is smart enough to know that the prom party will be the perfect time to take her away. The vampires won’t be able to notice immediately among a bunch of students as their senses are weak.
It’s frustrating. Maybe he should have caught her on day one.
“Thank you Shin-kun for protecting me”
Shin still remembers how she thanked him for protecting her in the dispute with the abusive boy at the rooftop on day one. During the whole tour she was down and numb. Her words were void of emotions when explaining the school layout. It felt off, even though he shouldn’t have cared, it still bothered him. What hell has she been living in with those vampires?
How ironic… that’s what he and his brother were gonna do to her, they were going to put her through the same hell and just like he said previously he shouldn’t have cared about her well being. Their only goal was their lineage.
Empathy doesn’t exist in demons.
but…
“cause… I wanted to be alone with you.”
The way she blushed from those simple words. Her ears and cheeks red, just like a tomato. It was cute. Every single time they met and were alone, he started to see improvement in her complexion. At first he viewed that as a good point as it’ll be easy to conceive with that healthy body of hers but soon he forgot his own purpose. He just wanted to be with her. It has been so long since he felt genuinely alive.
But it was all going to end soon.
–Rooftop, Ryoutei Academy:
Unknowingly, the rooftop has become a safe spot for Yui. the cool breeze calmed her as she sat on the floor, hugging her knees and looking at the full red moon. Everybody has their own secret spot and for Yui, it’s the school rooftop. It might not be a secret like other’s spot but it’s her comfort.
This place holds her memories with Shin.
And right now she is too deep down in the hole she has dug herself. It was from day one. She had a chance, a chance to take Shu’s hand while she fell in the shallow pit, but instead she took the shovel called Shin and kept digging more like an idiot thinking another path will open which will be safer, unknowingly caging herself the deeper she went as the light slowly disappeared above her. And now, the reliable shovel is broken too.
There was… a cracking noise within her.
There’s gotta be a fix. Every problem always has a fix. Right?
“What are you doin’ here?”
Her ears perked up from the voice beside her and she saw Shin sitting beside her in the same way she is.
“J-just enjoying the view”
Silence befell between them. Unlike previously she didn’t strike up random conversation to waive the awkward air around them.
Shin glanced at her complexion from side eye and it looked paler.
“Why are you here?” without even looking at him, she asked. She was too exhausted.
He hesitated for a moment, his throat feeling dry, like he was scared.
“I came to ask if you want to… bunk the school to go out with me?”
“What?!” His words brought her back to her senses as she looked at him bewildered while he gave his signature smirk.

ocean blue eyes _•*.🌊
inspired by the song ‘gorgeous’ by taylor swift
pairing: cillian murphy x f!reader
summary: you love to admire your boyfriends pretty blue eyes :)
genre: fluff
warnings: cillains piercing blue eyes /hj
“ocean blue eyes/lookin’ in mine/i feel like i might/sink and drown and die”
♡ ♡ ♡
(a/n): second little blurb is out! im always reminded of cillian when i listen to this song hehe. *not proofread! im also not super happy with the ending of this but that’s alright.* also this is an au where his gorgeous lovely irl wife does not exist!! no disrespect to my queen yvonne or their kids!<3
♡ ♡ ♡
“Hello my love” Cillian hums as he slips his big hands around your waist and pulls you into a hug from behind. He pushes your hair to the other side of your shoulders and proceeds to rest his chin softly in the nape of your neck, but not before placing a tender kiss under your ear. “Sorry I’m home late” he apologizes, his silky Irish accent accentuating every syllable “The shoot went later than scheduled” he mumbled into your skin. You could feel his long eyelashes flutter shut against your skin as he took a deep breath. You both stood quietly for a moment, finding a relieving comfort each other’s natural warmth.
You reach backwards and manage to place the palm of your hand on the back of his head, giving his ashy brown hair a loving scratch.
“It’s alright Cill. I managed to occupy myself.” you tell him, bringing your hand back down to your sides to then wrap them around the arms he had woven around your waist.
“Hmm?” he asks, an amused tone to his voice. “And what did you occupy yourself with, love.”
“Mmm well I baked some cookies, and listened to some music…” you recount quietly.
“Oh? Well what kind of music you were listening to?” He chuckles, trying to move the conversation along.
“Well I had some Taylor Swift-“ you begin to tell him, but you were interrupted by Cillian unraveling himself from around your waist and spinning you by your shoulders to face him. “There we go, pretty girl. I can see you now” he smiles, giving you his full attention by locking his innocent, ocean blue eyes to yours “as you were saying…?” God you could just melt….
“Oh well i- um” you let out a slightly exasperated breath, distracted by his eyes that twinkled under the fluorescent lights of your apartment. “I was listening to um…” you start, unable to quite get the words out. His pupils were almost the color of a ripe blueberry, sweet and tender. How could you think of anything with those…those things staring at you? They were just so pretty, and they matched his complexion perfectly-
“My love, are you alright?” Cillian snaps you out of whatever daydream you had begun.
“Sorry I um” you clear your throat and turn your head slightly ajar to avoid his gaze. You notice the distinct feeling of blood rushing to your cheeks and tinting your soft face an embarrassing pink. “I sort of lost my train of thought there…what was the question again?” You ask him dizzily, avoiding his eyes in the hopes of getting out a complete sentence.
“Lovey, you seem quite distracted is… is something wrong?” he chuckles hesitantly. You continue to blush silently, your face painting itself even pinker at his attention. “Hey. Look at me.” He asks sweetly, lightly taking your head in his hands and turning it back to him again. At this point, eye contact was unavoidable, so you just accepted your fate, and let your brain be fried by the unimaginable shimmer reflecting off of his glassy pupils. He had to know what he was doing to you, looking at you sweetly, praising you, prompting you with gentle touches. It was so evil of him, teasing you. Surely it was illegal to look so perfect…
“Cill I just…your eyes are so…god they’re so…they’re gorgeous” you breathe. Your cheeks were now surely the color of ripe strawberries. “Sorry that sounded weird…”. You cover your cheeks with your palms, the momentary embarrassment making you want to crawl away and hide forever. It isn’t long before he tries to pry your slightly damp hands away from your burning cheeks. “Hey pretty girl, where’d you go.” He laughs. “Look at me” he asks again. This time, you comply, lifting your chin to meet his gaze.
It truly was an out-of-body experience. The longer you looked into his eyes, the more the dashing specs of grey begin to float in the shocking blue waters of the ocean that was his iris. The calm waves splashing back and forth with every small movement, every tilt of his head. You wished you could go to whatever body of water he had trapped in there, though you worry that you might drown if you tried, overwhelmed by the beautiful beaches, freckled with tan sand and thick palm trees.
It was all so difficult to tell him. You felt sort of…creepy being so easily encapsulated by a singular functioning part of him. And such a small one at that (unlike some other parts of him….😉). You knew he thought it was sweet, it just…gosh it drove you crazy. You couldn’t express it all if you tried, and it infuriated you, but you knew that it all came from a place of love. One last look at his eyes, you quickly remember you should probably break the silence that suddenly felt loudly eternal. Your eyelashes brushed your cheeks few times, trying to regain any train of thought.
“I love you, Cillian.” You decide. He could hear about all of this the next time you get lost in his eyes…
“I love you too, angel.” He coos softly.
♡ ♡ ♡

The Jester and The Courier: a wild wasteland love
Chapter 9: The Rambler, The Gambler .
(inside the Lucky 38 Casino)
Cicero awoke to a strange, but DAZZLING sight, the room he was in…it was like a royal palace!
It was painted in rich reds and blacks with a lush emerald green carpet, lights hung from the ceiling on strands and blinked with multitudes of colors, all around decaled on the walls in bold stripes were card suits: red hearts, black spades, white diamonds and golden clubs.
Emblazoned on the wall was the sign: “LUCKY 38: Presidential Suite room 777” and…much to Cicero’s fluster…there were large pictures of scantily clad women…and men too.
There was even a glowing sign above what looked like a shelf full of potions that flashed reading: “24/7 FULL LIQUOR MINIBAR”.
Cicero rubbed his eyes and shook his head, he could swear he could hear music, MUSIC coming from a strange metal box beside the bed he was in. He looked out the MASSIVE windows and saw the entirety of where he was, he must be in the great mage’s tower in new vegas.
“Well good morning there sugar!” greeted a warbly voice, Cicero panicked and whirled around to see a strange metal thing…it reminded him of those dwemer spheres in a way…mixed with a centurion…
In any case he panicked and grabbed the first thing he could from his bedside and hucked it at the metal creature…a weird tray with ash in it.
“Well Hey! Now STOP! Quit!...MA’AM SPADE WE HAVE A SITUATION!” cried the metal creature, “OH SHIT, JANE!?” cried Myrtle.
Myrtle had been doing something she had previously rarely got to do, SHOWER, afterall it was one of the terms she had to abide too with her brain if she wanted to reunite with it. So imagine if you were in her shoes right now…
You just got back from a tough fight, you rescued a lot of people, now you have a new quirky unpredictable roommate and you are covered in dirt, blood and sweat…you’d wanna take a shower too right?
Just a quick dip, wash away all the muck and anxiety while the lunatic is knocked out?
Well that's what she WAS doing…until Jane started screaming.
Myrtle didn’t even bother getting on a towel or a housecoat, she just ran out of the bathroom in full hot wet steamy glory.
“OI!” she snapped “quit harassing my maid!”, Cicero’s jaw hung from his face at the sight of her standing there…in nothing but bubbles of soap, “MA’AM!” Jane shrieked “YOU ARE INDECENT!”, Myrtle sighed and turned to Cicero who was still perplexed and in stunned flustered silence “well…I think my little impromptu peep-show has calmed our guest down”.
“Cicero this is Jane” Myrtle introduced the strange metal creature “she is a securitron MARK II, she’s my housekeeper, maid, bodyguard and she is going to be helping me take care of you…ok? So please…be nice”, “I know you said the poor dear was sick but I didn’t think he would up and ATTACK ME!” Jane huffed, “WELL…YOU SCARED POOR CICERO!” he snapped, he did not like the metal creature-woman...she was creepy.
Myrtle sighed in frustration “Janey dear, could you be a doll and fix me and Cicero something to eat? Something light on the stomach but filling”, Jane nodded, her screen-face flickering in acknowledgement “alrighty Ma’am, how does Deathclaw eggs benedict sound?”, “sounds absolutely delightful, can you make mine extra runny?”, “sure thing sugar!” Jane hummed as she wheeled away “oh, anything to drink with that?”, “I think I’ll have sarsaparilla-and-scotch on the rocks” Myrtle replied.
Cicero averted his eyes “um…miss?”, “hmm?...oh…” Myrtle whent back into her bathroom, finished showering off and got dressed in a very…alluring…black and red dress.
Cicero felt himself grow hot under his shirt collar, Myrtle took notice and smirked, she sat down on the bed “you know what? How about when you’ve recovered, before I take you to Usanagi, I show you around new vegas? Introduce you to the strip”, Cicero pondered “well…what is there to do here?”
Myrtle chuckled “all kinds of things~” she got up from the bed and sauntered over to the window “Over at Gomorrah you can have a night of passion and pleasure and all kinds of carnal delights, as long as you follow the rules and don’t get rough with the performers and escorts. Now that the Omerta’s prostitutes have unionized they pretty much own the place now”
She pointed to a very fancy and luxurious building “if your hungry or thirsty and want a high-quality meal the Ultra Lux has you covered, now that Gunderson and several of the other ranchers have banded together to supply us with fresh food you can get just about anything tasty and refined…then again I’ve eaten 2 week old beans out of the fridge so what do I know of class and style?”
“Over at the Tops you can catch a show, a musical performance or a comedy routine, Hadrian is pretty funny and can always make a crowd laugh. Vault 21 is a unique experience, if you wanna know what it’s like being in a vault go check it out. Over in freeside is the Atomic Wrangler, check it out if you want some good booze and a fun game of blackjack” she then turned to him “and the best place of all? Right here.”
“The Lucky 38 has everything all the others have…and more~” she grinned.
“You…own?...this place?” Cicero pondered, Myrtle snickered “dollface I OWN all of NEW VEGAS”, “she’s the bee's knees when it comes to the strip!” Jane said as she sat down two plates of food.
“How did you come to be so powerful?” Cicero wondered as he ate, the meal was wonderful as the gigantic eggs were cooked perfectly and smothered in a rich but light sauce. “My father’s grandfather was a clone of the previous ruler of the strip, Mr House” Myrtle said as she dug into her plate as well.
“Mr House knew he could not live forever, he knew there was a chance something could still happen to him so he cloned himself. Now being a man of experiments and science he wanted to see which of these clones would be a successful heir. So he cloned himself 4 times and marked each clone with a card suit on their right hand: Diamond, Heart, Club and Spade.
Out of the Clones from what he told me Diamond and Club waged war on eachother, one wanting total totalitarian dictatorship over the strip and the other wanting fascistic dominion” she turned to Cicero with a glum look in her eyes…
“Heart and my great-grandfather, Spade, managed to take them out before they could kill the original Mr House, Heart died in the process and Spade left the 38 to seek his own life. Now my old great-great-grandpa thought the experiment a failure when my great-grandpa left”.
She then smiled a little“man oh man, guess how shocked and surprised he was to find out his clone had continued the lineage of House, if just marked under a different name and his great-great-grand heir was the very courier he had hired to help him secure the strip! ” she chuckled.
Myrtle then sighed forlornly “I had convinced him to work with the NCR when a Legion assassin, Vulpes Inculta, broke in…I still don’t know how he was able to slip passed me but…he managed to open the pod containing my great-great-grandpa and inject him with cazador venom. I tried to save him but gramps told me that due to bacterial contamination just giving him antivenom and popping him back in wouldn’t work…he’d just die in a few days in agony…”
She sighed…
“I wish I had more time with my great-great-grandpa, he sounded like an asshole but he ment well.”
Cicero didn’t understand half of what she said…
“Clone?...” he pondered, feeling a bit stupid for asking, “it’s like a copy of something…in this case, someone” she replied.
As they finished eating, Jane came up to Myrtle “oh miss spade? Your admirers are waiting for you down stairs”, “thankyou Janey” she turned to Cicero “well I gotta go, I’am performing in the lounge tonight, you should rest up and take things easy, if you want you can watch my show on the big monitor in the living room”.
Cicero watched her leave, her hips sashaying as she harmonized and vocalized he way down the hall.
(Lucky 38 Cocktail Lounge)
“Hey King good to see you” Victor smiled as he welcomed the man into the Lucky 38, “good to see ya Victor good to see ya”, “you here to see one of Myrt’s shows?”, the man laughed “See? Brother, I’d never miss one of that little mama’s shows for the world”.
The stage was set and the lights were dimmed…
The King, Pacer and his boys sat in the vip seat with the other leaders of the strip. Hsu and some of the other NCR troopers sat with them, Marcus and Calamity joining them as well.
“Hi King” Myrtle coyly waved, King blushed and waved back.
“This song is a favorite of mine, it was written by a LEGEND of the Mojave and with all that's happening…I think we need a little more Love in this wasteland” she took a deep breath…
“~Hold me close, hold me tight, make me thrill with delight Let me know where I stand from the start I want you, I need you, I-I love you With all my heart Every time that you near, all my cares disappear Darling, you're all that I'm living for I want you, I need you, I-I love you More and more~”
Cicero watched and listened from the huge screen…Sithis her voice was like honey on velvet…
“~I thought I could live without romance
U-u-until you came to me
But now I know that I will go on
Lovin' you eternally
Won't you please be my own? Never leave me alone
'Cause I die every time we're apart
I want you, I need you, I-I love you
With all my heart~”
She began to dance as her voice rose with every lyric…
“~Well, I thought I could live without romance
U-u-u-unti-il you came to me
But now I know that I-I-I will go
On lovin' you eternally
Won't you please be my own? Never leave me alone
'Cause I die every time we're apart
I want you, I need you, I-I love you
With all my heart~”
She smiled as the crowd applauded
“Thank you, thank you very much” she smirked.

Doll: >.> Hmm
Sea stared at the direction doll stared at: →_→???
Sea stared back at doll who have conflicted face: ←_←???
Doll: (٥↼_↼) that guy is being weird.
Sea gesture something to doll: ヽ(´ー` )
Doll: ...
Doll: I don't understand your gesture. (;^ω^)
Sea, point at Blood again who's dipping his legs in the water: ( ˘ 、 ˘ )
Doll: >.>
Doll look away from the sight of Blood: I can't point a finger at it but he still suspicious.
Sea: (˘・_・˘)
Doll: bee told me stuff that guy said a few days ago. (─.─||)
Sea: (?・・)σ
Doll: >.> I don't know how that world works as a whole but basing what Bee said. Blood or mad hatter implying something about clock. He also said about him and bee being similar.
I can point out that he mean that he and bee have been through a "time" paradox, timeline or whatnot since it's connected to clock.
Doll takes out a notepad as he start to list what his saying.
Doll: Bee is casual about his world story, that guy causally says he become a past tense for hundred of times for his love. Nor did his lunatic side denied that claim of the reason why Bee is "made" __〆( ̄ー ̄ )
Sea, don't know what to say when Doll went Sherlock Holmes: (・–・;)ゞ
Doll: pretty sure that the concept of time being part of their story is only applied to those two. Bee often boost that their "omae" can return back time and he can access the time labyrinth before. ( . .)φ__
Doll take a deep a moment to think of something.
Sea: (?・・)σ???
Doll: →_→ the case of event of twisted wonderland, it's not a new world, rather it's a world made since long ago. I learn it from snooping around. (¬ ¬)
Sea: (¬_¬;)
Doll: blood always act mostly the most know it all bitch. (`ー´) that asshole knows the back of my hand than I do. Now his acting dumb as baby.
Sea, sigh at Doll wording: (´-﹏-`;)
Doll: fuck, he even able to summon that house of his even in the button of the sea. Or anywhere at all (︶︹︺) I heard that he have shadow hands so he have the same number of limbs/ arms a spider really have and they can carry bunch of things, not carrying about weight withers. ヾ( `ー´)シφ__ IN SHORT THEY ARE OP!
Sea: (─.─||)
The darling Doll continues to write something on the paper
Doll: fuck. I remember that ranking he said. He never stared his rank. He just said Bee as a whole is the OP. (↼_↼) I wonder what's my rank through is this like dragon balls power level or bleach?? Hmm I think watch too many anime with Kana-han.
Sea: (・–・;)ゞ
Do: anyway, I don't want to write more about Blood and waste my papers. σ( ̄、 ̄〃) that guys probably did that to himself or his just plain out acting all this time. Through that time. I think his genuinely weird.
Sea:
Doll: what.
Sea point at Blood who's listening to doll rant all this time since he take out his notepad: (˘・_・˘)
Doll:
Blood: it seems that sweet Dolly detective is on to me. What a honor to the humble me.
He chuckle as he pats Doll who who's about to explode from embarrassment.
Blood: you really shouldn't dwell to stuff that will get you into troubles. It be bad if you follow certain someone footstep... Sigh why does people of your world always stick your nose to business that isn't yours?
Doll:...
Doll, already takes out his blades: YOU BASTARD!! SO YOUR BACK TO YOUR TRUE COLORS!!! (`ー´)
Blood: hmm? What makes you think I acted differently? How amusing.
Doll:ԅ( ͒ ͒ )ᕤ I WILL AMUSE YOUR FACE WITH MY KNIFE!!!
Doll soon chase Blood around and Sea watch wondering about how people in the surface is odd.
To begin with he already notice something off with Blood the moment he appeared that day beside him in the beach.
He seems free from the usual chains he sees him in before, but that guy put those chain back on himself.
It keep returning as others keep mentioning about stuff connected to the blood they know.
He wonder if, if others don't mentioned what kind of person he was before. Would he stayed the same...
Sea pause on his thoughts as he remembers what Bee shared to the group.
'even if we don't tell him anything, he said it's like something normal occuring thing to him... Sigh... People above are strange. '
He no longer tried to follow doll the Sherlock Holmes footstep and just return on playing on his pearls.

how would the mercs react to an s/o who loves having their hair played with/touched? like, someone who will absolutely just melt if they run their hands through it (sorry if this is weirdly specific btw)
*GAAAAASSSSSSSSPPPPPPP* This is BEUTIFUL!!! I LOVE this idea :D Here is one fluffy writing coming right up! (This not weirdly specific it is beautiful!! ) Also this is pretty short and simple!
This is like the head pat headcanon sorry-
Scout
um YES! He likes to ruff up your hair! *ruffs up hair* HEY!! hehe, anyway gotta go babe! (you definitely secretly enjoy it...) He always ruffs up your hair just before a battle. He likes to touch your hair silently. *stare* Your hair is SO soft babe...*hugs you and nuzzles your neck*
Soldier
When he found out he was surprised. oh. Cupcake likes it when I touch their hair? oh. After that discovery, he would always touch your hair after a battle. GOOD JOB CUPCAKE! *very strong force head pat* *PAT PAT* Soldier likes to touch your hair once he finishes doing all of his duty just gently touching your hair.
Pyro
YESSSS!! Pyro always plays with your hair! They always make nice hairstyles with your hair. Braids, ponytails, and so much more!! Always decorate your hair with unicorn hairpins, pink ribbons, etc. Pyro just loves styling your soft and nice hair while you melt. MMPHHH! You wanna style my hair? MMMPHHHH :D Pyro likes to get new books about hair styles and learn them for you!!
Engi
oh (He almost heart attack due to the cuteness of yours god damn)) He loves playing with your hair. When you come near him he will always play with your hair. When he sees you melt he also melts. He also likes to make hair accessories for you. He always surprises you. Close your eyes s/o! *nods and closes eye* Now open! *sees cute hairclip* I-I made it for you! *puts on the hair clip for you* I think it matches you, sweetheart :)
Heavy
YES. Heavy also likes to style your hair. But instead of decorating it is pretty simple and clean. A simple red bow will do perfectly :) Heavy wants to style s/o hair :) If you want heavy will style your hair every day before battle to keep your hair tidy. It is honestly so wholesome and cute couple moment when others see little s/o sit on a bench while big bear heavy fiddle his big hands with your hair.
Demo
He also likes to do random stuff with your hair. When he is drunk he likes you being on his lap while he does weird half done braids and ponytails...? You are okay with it but all of them come off pretty easily due to not being tied properly. He likes doing hairstyles that could match when you wear his beanie. (He loves seeing you in his beanie it is so cute!!!)
Sniper
He likes touching your hair. When he sees taking a nap on his bed he instantly pets your hair and runs his finger through your fluffy and nice hair. *pat, pat* When he sees you wake up he always pretends to do something else. Title: who we are in the aftermath
Fandom: The Owl House
Synopsis: Belos falls and the Golden Guard survives. It’s a new world and a new day, and sooner or later Hunter has to figure out where he fits in it.
Or: in which Hunter stays at the Owl House, becomes a (very, very reluctant) apprentice, continues to have accidental sibling shenanigans with the annoying human, and finally finds a place where he belongs. Probably.
AO3 link is here.
[Next chapter is here!]
.
chapter one: battling birds
.
They give him a room near the east side of the house, stuffed full of broken things and a miscellaneous number of random items. It’s not the human’s old room, and not Lilith’s, either—there’s too much dust and too much stuff for either option. Hunter can’t tell if he’s grateful for this or not. He’s still deciding on whether he’s grateful for the room at all.
There’s no time to set up a bed. He spends his first night here on a blanket, restless and half-awake and lying so still he’s half-convinced he’s shaking from the strain of not moving at all, not making a single sound. He can practically taste the dust on every inhale—does the Owl Lady ever clean, Titan help him—and by some godawful midnight hour Hunter gives up on sleep entirely and sits up, carefully, to whisper to his palisman.
Nothing important. None of the real questions that are swirling around in his head, like what am I even doing here and why am I still here and what am I supposed to do now, do you know? Instead he just says nonsense things, useless things, like “If I shine a flashlight in that little demon’s face do you think I could get him to chase the dot?”
The palisman coos and chirps and sings nonsense back. Red is a pretty color. I like tulips. If we iced over the Boiling Sea could we make human rain?
“None of those answers make sense,” Hunter tells it, and then writes a small note about the sea and rain connection on the dusty floor, if only because that’s actually kind of interesting and he wants to check it out again later.
Red tulips are tasty, replies the palisman, and nuzzles his fingers when he goes to pet it. Its feathers are soft and its eyes are luminous in the moonlight. Nonsense, all of it, but the nonsense helps—familiar as a friend, safe and easy. Better than thinking of Belos. Better than wondering what he’s doing here, sleeping on the floor in the Owl Lady’s house.
The human has left. He could walk out right now and she’d never know, not that her disappointment has any bearing on if he chooses to stay or go. She’s vanished back to the human world, probably gone forever. This house means nothing to Hunter—the Owl Lady is annoying and dislikes him about as much as Hunter dislikes her, and as endearing as the weird little demon is, that isn’t enough to make Hunter want to stay.
He could leave easily. He could go anywhere. He has nowhere to go.
“I don’t know what to do,” Hunter tells the palisman, at last, hours later. It is almost morning. The sunrise has only just begun, the peace of this dusty attic room wavering thin and fragile in the light of early dawn. It is a quiet admission. He says it very soft. “I don’t know if I know anything.”
I love you, says the palisman.
“That’s not an answer either.”
Oh, well.
Twenty minutes later, the Owl Lady’s weird bird-worm security creature bursts through the window and sings good morning loud enough to shatter eardrums. Hunter grabs his staff, throws a blast at the thing on instinct, teleports to the kitchen in a panic, and smacks the Owl Lady in the face with his palisman first thing in the morning.
.
The easy explanation is this: the castle falls and Belos dies and the Golden Guard somehow survives it all: portal collapse and half-realm merge and everything, which means when the dust settles, ultimately Hunter is left with absolutely no idea of what to do with himself.
“You should work with Eda!” says the human, in the aftermath. Given she says this in the ruin of what was once the Emperor’s castle, barely a half hour after—everything—Hunter feels pretty justified in his response. Which is to say he strangles his broken mechanical staff in his hands, takes a deep breath, and says in a very tight voice: “No.”
“But—!”
“No. No, no, no. I can’t even believe I did this, I don’t… it’s not happening. No.”
The human—he does actually know her name by now, after all they’ve been through, but also given all of This Nonsense she has lost name privileges—does not take that well. Of course she doesn’t. She’s so fourteen it makes Hunter want to die inside.
“Why not?” the human says, petulant. She has her hands on her hips and everything.
Hunter is kneeling in the rubble of a castle he’s called home for almost all his life. Somewhere down there is the throne where Belos used to sit; somewhere down there is a body. It’s not a surprise, really. It’s not a shock. From the moment the palisman fluttered into his life and Hunter let it stay, he always knew, deep down, that one day he was going to have to choose.
It does not make breathing any easier. “I don’t want to,” he says.
“You can learn wild magic! And, and glyphs! Eda knows a lot—”
“Does the Owl Lady know you’re offering up her house to an old enemy?”
“Eda won’t mind. Well, okay, maybe she’ll mind a little, but— she’ll let you stay if I ask her!” Yeah. The Owl Lady probably would. The human has that witch wrapped around her little finger; Hunter almost snorts. “Please, just hear me out. I’m sure we can—”
“No.”
“Hunter…”
“Don’t talk like we’re friends,” Hunter hisses. He drops the broken remains of the mechanical staff and stands, his hands curled to fists. “Don’t talk like you know me. You don’t know anything. You don’t—” He can’t breathe. He drops back to his knees in the rubble and rubs a hand over his eyes. “Just stop. Please.”
The human doesn’t say anything for a long time. On his shoulder, the palisman, thus far staying silent, flutters its wings and hops down to his knee, nudging his hand with its beak. It sings nothing. Just stays there.
After a moment, the human kneels next to him. There is blood on her face and dirt staining her leggings. “I know,” she says, and she suddenly sounds very tired. “I’m sorry.”
Hunter doesn’t say anything.
“I just—” the human starts, and then she stops. “I don’t know how else to help you.”
She looks small and weirdly sad, which makes no sense at all, because she hated Belos and never really understood why Hunter did not. (Hunter is not sure why either. If that is still something he can say. If you can betray your uncle and fight against your uncle and—and— and do these things, do everything Hunter has done, and still say that this feeling isn’t hatred.)
They aren’t friends, Hunter and the human. They have barely been allies. He doesn’t need her help, and she probably knows that as well as he does. But Hunter looks at her then, and despite the rubble and the ash and the blood on his tongue, for some reason instead of digging himself a makeshift grave he says—
“…Okay.”
Which still doesn’t really explain anything, but then, that’s just how it goes.
.
“Okay!” says the Owl Lady, smacking down her second cup of apple blood on the table. She does it too hard—a good splash of blood escapes the confines of the cup and adds yet another stain to her already-stained dining table. Hunter raises an eyebrow. The Owl Lady glares back. “House rules.”
There’s a red mark on her cheek, still, from where Hunter had hit her with his staff, and a stain all down her side from when, upon being hit with the staff, the Owl Lady spluttered and cursed and accidentally spilt the first cup of apple blood all over herself and the floor. She looks… barely awake.
“House rules,” Hunter echoes, dryly.
“Your scorn is noted and not appreciated.”
“Oh, I’m so sorry.” His palisman pecks his hand lightly. “Ow.”
“Luz, you owe me one,” mutters the Owl Lady, and takes a really deep drink of her apple blood. Hunter rubs at his hand, peeved, and eyes the palisman in case it gets any more hand-pecking ideas. The palisman blinks innocently back. Hmm.
“So. First of all.” The Owl Lady raises a finger. “Break any of my stuff and I end you.”
So just like the castle, then. Hunter sees where this is going. He settles gingerly back against the chair—why, why is all of her furniture stained—and rests his cheek against one fist, already bored. “Noted.”
The Owl Lady puts up a second finger. There’s a long silence.
“…Seriously?” says Hunter.
“Quiet, you.” She snaps her fingers. “Hah! Got one! Hurt King or Luz or Hooty or anyone I like in any way and I’ll destroy you. Yeah, that works.”
Hunter gets the sneaking suspicion these house rules are being made up on the spot, and are also only for him. He knows better than to say that aloud. “Fine.” Wait. “How am I supposed to know which random people you like or dislike?”
The Owl Lady grins. Her gold fang glints. “That sounds like a you problem, don’t you think?” She cackles a little. “Guess you’ll just have to find out! Or, you know. Maybe don’t attack anyone? That’s a start.”
Her owl palisman coos a little. Her nose wrinkles. “What? What do you mean that’s hypocritical? Stay out of this, Owlbert, I’m teaching life lessons or something.” Her eyes turn to him. “Anyway. You get the gist.”
Hunter’s hand is curled white-knuckled around his knee. His palisman flutters from the table to his shoulder, singing nonsense again. Red tulips, so tasty. Its feathers brush against his cheek.
He pries his grip off his knee one finger at a time. “…Understood.”
“Good.” The Owl Lady stands and stretches, yawning wide into one hand. “Anyway, I’ll give you a pass for this morning, because Hooty can be…” She trails off. Outside, muffled by the front door, the bird-worm creature shouts “HOOT” at full volume and then smacks into a tree.
“…a lot,” decides the Owl Lady. “But seriously, keep the windows locked. I don’t want you trying to blast him and burning my house down. I just got it back.”
Hunter says nothing. The Owl Lady squints at him and then picks her mug back up. “Riiiight… well, good talk, I guess. Get some more sleep, kid, you look worse than Luz after an all-nighter.” She waits. Hunter raises an eyebrow at her. “Ugh. I don’t know why I agreed to this.”
At least Hunter isn’t the only one second-guessing everything. Still, that reminds him. “The human.”
“Luz,” says the Owl Lady, unimpressed.
“Yeah, whatever.” He links his fingers. The palisman flies down from his shoulder to his cupped hands, and hops a determined circle in his palm for no apparent reason. Hunter watches it play. “…Is she coming back?”
“What, tired of our company already?”
“Yes,” Hunter says, because obviously.
“Rude. Well, can’t say the feeling isn’t mutual.” There’s a long silence. The Owl Lady sighs. “Luz… she promised she’d come back. You were there, weren’t you?”
Yeah, he had been. Standing in the back of the group, on the fringes of the goodbye. Two hours after the end, and the human had already roped the Owl Lady into letting Hunter live in her stupid owl house, and also somehow run around hugging pretty much everyone. And then she’d stepped through the mirrors that were all that remained of the realm-merge between her world and theirs, and not come back since.
She had, indeed, promised to return. But that was hours ago; that was yesterday. The mirrors are gone and no doors remain. And Hunter does not put much faith in promises.
“And when,” he asks the Owl Lady, a little lofty, a little snide. “When, exactly, do you think she’s coming back?”
The Owl Lady’s eyes narrow. Her lips press thin. For a moment he thinks she might snap at him, but then her shoulders slump, and in the end she just looks away.
“I don’t know,” the Owl Lady admits.
Useless, Hunter thinks. But he doesn’t say it. Just nods and turns away to head back upstairs and make that stupid dusty storage room somewhat presentable, because if he’s going to be staying here for—for—for whatever amount of time he ends up staying here, he’s going to breathe actual air instead of dust, thanks.
“Remember, kid! House rules!”
“Yeah, yeah,” Hunter says, and teleports back up the stairs without a single glance back.
.
Hunter manages to shove all the junk into one corner and make the start of a fairly presentable bed in the other corner by the time the human re-arrives in the Boiling Isles and throws open his door hard enough to smack it against the wall.
“You took my advice!” shouts the human, at the top of her lungs.
“Hiiiiii,” says Hunter, hands over his ears. The human takes a deep breath. Hunter closes the door in her face. “Byeeee.”
“Hey!”
“Why are you yelling.”
“I can’t believe you’re here!”
It’s just nonsensical enough to get him to open the door. Why does this always happen to him? Why is the human like this? “You said I should come here! You said—”
“Psh,” says the human and flaps a hand in his face. Hunter stops mid-word, gritting his teeth, practically feeling his whole face turn bright red with rage. “I didn’t mean it in a bad way! I just— I didn’t think you would actually listen! But you’re here!” She’s beaming. Hunter looks away. Her smile fades. “…Are you okay?”
He can’t sleep. His eyes are hot and burning like he wants to cry and he has no idea why. His uncle is dead.
“No,” he tells her. “No one in this house dusts. I’ve forgotten what air tastes like.”
“Psh-haw! I’m sure it's not that…” The human steps inside, inhales, and chokes. “Oh. Ay Dios mío. Wow, this room has not been dusted.”
“I noticed!”
“Oh, man.” She hides her nose in her elbow and sidles outside again. She’s wearing her weird human clothes and her palisman staff strapped to her back. She looks tired, and a little like she has no idea what she’s doing here either. She lingers in the door almost awkwardly, rolling back and forth from her heels to her toes.
Hunter watches her for a long moment. “You came back.”
“Haha. What gave it away?” But the smile she gives is small and blinding, brighter than the sun. “Watch this.”
“Watch wha—” The human lifts her hand and trails it through the air, dragging her fingers down in a straight line. Golden light follows her fingers. It breaks the air like a fractured mirror, a rift sparking to life in the hallway, the dark greens and blues of a galaxy intertwined with a burning glow. Hunter’s voice dies in his throat.
“If I push at it, it opens. Like a door. It leads me right home.” She’s smiling so wide it must hurt. The portal almost seems to whisper; the golden glow of the rift shines in her eyes and catches on her face, still tear-streaked. The human’s cried over this. She’s right to. The human world and the Boiling Isles—she has found a way to keep both.
Presumably he thinks he should be jealous. Instead he finds himself smiling too. “I’m glad,” Hunter tells her. “That’s… pretty cool.”
“Right!?” She bounces on her heels and waves a hand through the rift, dismissing it into nothing. “I can’t wait to show Amity. And Eda. And King. And you! The human world is—it’s amazing. The rain doesn’t kill you even a little bit!”
It takes sudden effort to keep up the smile. “…I’ve heard.”
“Anyway, I just came by to say hi. Eda said you were here, and—” She stops, visibly hesitating. Her head lowers. “I know… I know this must be hard. And that we aren’t really friends. But… if you need anyone to talk to… I’m here.” She peeks up her head a little, grinning. “After all, we’re house buddies now!”
“Human,” Hunter says. Her nose wrinkles. He sighs. “Luz.”
“Yeah?”
There’s so much he could say that for a moment he has no idea where to start. Why did you think this was a good idea. Please stop talking. Why are you so insistent that we could be friends. I didn’t say I was staying here for long. I’m very tired. You’re bizarrely forgiving. My uncle is dead because of you.
“…Thanks,” he says. “And— I’m sorry.”
Luz blinks at him. Then she grins. “Noooo problem, ol’ buddy ol’ pal!”
Hunter shoves her stupid smiling face away and closes the door on her toes. Luz yelps and swears and kicks at the door, and yells rude things in that other human language of hers. “Byeeeee,” Hunter says, and behind the closed door, Luz makes a muffled noise of rage and shouts, “Would you stop saying that!?”
And it doesn’t make things better but it doesn’t make things any worse, either, and when Hunter turns away he is almost smiling—so maybe it’s okay.
.
The sun sets. The dusty room has been aired out to its best ability, and Hunter has made a somewhat functional and comfy-looking bed in the corner. A sticky note with the boiling sea + ice = human rain idea has been ceremoniously pinned to the empty wall space. In addition to the sticky notes, Luz has donated his “sad, bad boy room” what looks to be a dying houseplant. Hunter suspects she gave it to him purely because she has despaired of trying to keep it alive herself.
He puts the plant on the windowsill. The palisman apparently loves it. Maybe he should find red tulips for it to eat. Whatever a red tulip is.
He settles next to the palisman on the windowsill, and strokes its head with his finger. He feels strangled and small and the sunset looks alien to him. Everything has changed. Everything is over. He is a powerless witch with a wild magic staff, and he will never be the Golden Guard again.
His eyes burn. He blinks fast. Far down below, he can hear the Owl Lady and Luz arguing over dinner.
“I still don’t know what I’m doing here,” Hunter tells the palisman. The sunset makes all the trees look shadow-like and sharp, outlined in red. It reminds him of his palisman, a little bit. “I don’t even like these people. What do you think? Is it too late to head back and dig myself a grave in the rubble?”
I’m happy I know you, chirps the palisman. It hops from the dying houseplant to the top of his head. I love you, I love you.
His throat feels tight. “…That still isn’t a real answer.”
I want apple blood for breakfast tomorrow. The palisman nibbles at his hair. It looks tasty.
He’s quiet for a long moment. Then he closes his eyes. “Okay. If— if you say so.”
The sun is setting, and the light is warm on his face. The Boiling Isles feels, for once, almost something like peaceful. It probably won’t last.
“We’ll stay.”

💥💥💥💥💥💥💥💥💥💥💥💥💥💥💥💥💥💥
Blood pumps to his legs. Cement pounds his feet. Bits of rubble catch in his boots. The first spark of the night shoots up- swallowed whole by the black sky. A trail of embers remains in its wake.
Katsuki stops. And waits.
A second passes- the crowd silent in anticipation. No one can see the spark, but everyone knows it’s there… waiting… for the right time to explode. And just when the darkness thinks it has won, an enormous burst of light blankets the sky. In that moment, it’s so bright that Katsuki can see the skyline. Like paint splattered on a blank canvas, the sky now bleeds in red, and the explosion leaves an imprint the size of a supernova long after it’s gone.
The crowd applauds.
A roar is ripped from Katsuki’s throat. He pounds at the brick wall again and again, despite blood trickling down his fists. He rips his cochlear and smashes it against the wall. A sick satisfaction settles within him. The ringing that greets him is like a devil sucking on the lobe, whispering tempestuous nothings into his ear.
Katsuki continues his ascent, taking steps by three until he reaches the top. The poor door is yanked off its hinges, but it doesn’t even cross Katsuki’s mind as he’s hit by everything all at once. Smoke slithers down his throat, roasted yakitori wafts up his nose, the rhythmic booms caress his ear, and the lavender shaded sky comforts his eyes. From up here, the people below remind Katsuki of the dots he used to see after he ignited a big explosion- how the dots blur, mix, and separate in one fluid motion again and again.
His phone ringing is a distant echo. They’re looking for him no doubt, but who the hell cares. Not like they’d find him up here. This was yours and Katsuki’s place.
-------------------------------------------------------
He’d blow himself up if he missed even a second.
His lungs burned. They ached for a clean breath, yet inhaled the stench of nitroglycerin-like sweat. He could’ve just blasted himself to the top and saved himself the trouble, but fuck. That. Katsuki thrived on a challenge. He loved the rush of adrenaline more than his own mother. (He’d never tell her that- she’d kill him before he reached this goddamn roof.)
He threw himself against the door in time to see the first burst of citrine hit the sky. But he also saw you, a trespasser, standing on the ledge and looking like you were about to kill yourself. You didn’t flinch at the sonic boom (like most people) nor cringe at the heat. It was like you thought the beauty outweighed its destruction.
All that said you were fucking stupid.
“Oi! Get down from there!”
You were immersed in skylight, and though your back was turned, Katsuki knew you were staring up in awe; your eyes reminiscent of glassy pools reflecting red, yellow, blue and all the possibilities they create.
“Fuckin’ hell…” Katsuki muttered. He just wanted to enjoy the show in his spot. Alone. Like he did every year. “Oi, lady! You wanna kill yourself? Do it on some other roof dammit!”
You jumped at the blasted words, losing your balance and falling off the ledge. Katsuki expected you to scream, to gasp, to cry... anything but fucking wink on your way down like playing with death is just some fucking game. But Katsuki had no time to think before he blasted himself across the roof to grab your hand- but you didn’t need it. You threw a safety line in mid-air, hooked it to the ledge with skillful precision, and used the leverage to hurl yourself back up. You landed on the ledge like a ballerina tip-toeing on a tightrope. The sheer turn of events rendered Katsuki speechless.
“Phew! That was fun! Let’s do it again sometime, yeah?” You wrapped the safety chord before bouncing up to Katsuki.
The fuck?
How did you…?
You didn’t seem to notice Katsuki’s loss for words.
“I’ve never met someone with a quirk like yours. You could put on your very own firework show!”
You tried grabbing his hand, but Katsuki’s growl stopped you. The flickers popping in his hands were a sign to back the fuck off.
You’re scared. Good, Katsuki thought.
“Sorry, sorry, I’m a bit of a pyro.” You sheepishly smiled, twirling a pink and yellow band around your finger. (You’d later twirl your wedding ring the same way.)
Katsuki’s growl cut in its tracks. You weren’t scared like he thought, in fact, you looked lost in his sparks- your eyes zooming back and forth, trying to catch each and every one. Katsuki killed his sparks, causing you to look up at him in disappointment.
“I can’t. Mine don’t change color,” he muttered.
Fireworks always fascinated Katsuki. As a child, he wished his explosions could change color. He imagined people looking up in awe when his sparks rained down. They’d recognize the power and the beauty.
“Hmm…color is what makes a firework...” you trailed off.
“No shit,” Katsuki snorted. How stupid are you?
“Hold out your hands.”
Katsuki crossed his arms, “No.”
“Oh, c’mon! Gimme your hands!” You bounced up and down, overcome with excitement. Katsuki stepped back but immediately stopped himself because Bakugou Katsuki never backs down.
“I’m not giving you anything, woman. You’re fuckin’ weird for jumpin’ off roofs and asking for stranger’s hands. Stay the fuck away from me. In fact, this is my fuckin’ roof. Find your own.” Katsuki looked down to see his hands popping. It must’ve happened on instinct- a defense mechanism to scare off the extras who won’t leave him the fuck alone.
Except it didn’t work on you. You only came closer.
“Do you want to burn in color or not?”
Katsuki saw flashes of himself in your eyes everytime a firework went off. A hunger burned in the pit of his stomach- one he’s felt countless times during battle, but this one was different. This strange warmth made him feel like jumping off the roof himself, and if he put all his might into it, he could brush the spark of a firework from fifty feet above.
“Yes,” he said.
“Then you’re gonna have to trust me.”
“Trust you!?” Katsuki shook his head, “I don’t even know you!”
“That’s half the fun, isn’t it?” You giggled, “Now hold still.”
Katsuki grumbled how ridiculous this was, and that whatever you tried wouldn’t work, but you ignored him in favor of pulling his hands and laying them face up. You nodded and Katsuki sighed, activating his quirk anyway because what the hell.
You’re entranced from the moment flickers popped, one by one, in his hands. They died as quickly as they were born, but still left their mark in the air.
Katsuki’s sparks faltered as cool fingertips brushed against his wrist.
“It’s okay, keep going,” you encourage, and he does.
He can’t pinpoint exactly when the change happened. Like all change, he blinked and suddenly his sparks burned in color. Angry red, rooted in tormented crimson, ravished the usual, boring, orange of his sparks.
Katsuki laughed in disbelief because how is this real? Yellow began to flicker in and out of the red, until it finally caught like a flame and engulfed the red like a warm blanket. Pink and light green began to swirl around the yellow, and the firework show Katsuki had been looking forward to all year didn’t hold a candle to the fireworks fluttering in the palms of his hands.
Katsuki looked up at you.
Who the fuck are you?
You giggled at his awed expression, “Our very own firework show.”
And that’s how you spent the rest of the night. His hands in yours while he burned in color for the first time.
Katsuki later discovered you could read emotions through auras. The aura becomes visible, allowing you to color a person’s quirk.
He also discovered that you didn’t need to hold his hand for it to work.
-------------------------------------------------------
A round of fireworks triggers the ringing in Katsuki’s ear. He throws his head back in ecstasy and prays the sensation tickles his eardrum for a little longer- enough to shut the part of his brain that keeps remembering you.
Katsuki pulls the pistol out. The leather grip, so slick with sweat, that Katsuki has to wipe his hand to make sure he doesn’t accidentally set off his quirk.
He’s not an amateur. He’s held a gun before. Every pro-hero has to undergo weapons training, but he’s never used one in combat. His quirk was always more than enough. But there’s something inherently dangerous about a gun. His quirk is an extension of himself, but a gun is a separate entity altogether- and it was designed to kill.
Growing up, adults would praise Katsuki for his quirk. They’d say, “With a quirk like that, you’re destined to become a hero!” But they were still afraid to get too close. They saw his quirk as a weapon that was designed to destroy. And soon enough, Katsuki became the embodiment of just that. But he always felt incomplete. He wanted to be a hero like All Might. One that people looked up to- in awe of their power, not in fear of it.
That’s why he loved fireworks. The only explosion that makes people stop and stare, instead of running away, in fear for their lives.
You were the first and only person to see the beauty in his quirk.
-------------------------------------------------------
“What’s your favorite color?”
Such a basic question that Katsuki should already have the answer to. But color meant so much more to you. You saw the world in a way that made everyone else seem colorblind.
You twirled that same pink and yellow band around your finger as Katsuki twirled the ring in his pocket. You leaned in closer, basking in the warmth radiating from Katsuki. He watched how your eyes never left the sky, and he was content with missing the show if it meant he can watch you instead. He caught glimpses of you only when lit by a firework. He made sure not to blink during those moments else he’d miss you. Your expressions mixed and swirled as the fireworks continued, but you never lost the primary color of mesmerization painting your face.
“Blue,” you said. Katsuki had to lean in to listen; your voice an ember in a sea of fire. “But not sky blue like on a sunny day. It’s nice, but I much prefer the darker washes of blue, deep like sapphire.”
Blue, the color of sadness.
“Why blue?” Katsuki asked. The ring in his pocket danced between his fingers.
You turned back to the fireworks. You always made sure to think before you speak when answering a question that mattered.
“Because there’s always an interesting story behind an aura of such sorrow, more importantly, there’s always a light at the end of the tunnel.”
“So your favorite color isn’t blue, it’s yellow,” Katsuki cut in, but you shook your head.
“There’s nowhere to go but down with yellow. Yellow is the epitome of brightness and joy, and when you crash during the high, you crash hard. But when you’re drowning in deep blue, as I’ve seen many people do, you’re at the lowest of lows- you really can’t get any lower in this life. But when an aura- and I’ve only seen this once- when an aura changes from the deepest of sapphire to sunrise yellow- well it’s the most beautiful thing I’ve ever seen.”
The twirling of the ring in his pocket stopped.
“That is why I believe blue is the true color of hope,” you whispered.
-------------------------------------------------------
Katsuki should feel the smooth texture of leather as he grips the gun in his hand. He should feel the weight of the gun as he brings it to his temple. But he’s numb to it all. It’s like an invisible string, pulling at his muscles, directing his body how to move. His mind goes blank for the first time, and all the inner-turmoil he’s been unable to escape just straight up… stops. It’s like he’s floating in a body of water with no current. Complete and utter stillness.
It scares the fuck outta him, but it feels good.
As he’s about to turn the safety off, his phone rings again, snapping him back to reality. Katsuki guts his phone.
“Die!”
The phone slides down the door like a dead pidgeon.
“God-fuckin’-damn it...” He pushes the barrel back to his temple, craving that mind-numbing stillness once more. Anything to stop the feelings that just won’t seem to go away.
The fireworks crescendo as the show reaches its climax. The colors begin to mix and blur together so much that it becomes too convoluted to look at. An infinite regress of color swirling in Katsuki’s mind.
-------------------------------------------------------
You glowed on purpose so Katsuki could find you. He spotted you from miles away, like a beacon of light in the middle of a storm. The melancholic blue of your aura contrasted against the raging reds that painted the sky.
Katsuki ran. He pushed and pushed past his limit, harder than any battle he’s fought in. He could’ve made it if he used his quirk, but he was in a crowded marketplace with too many people. He ripped off his gauntlets and threw them in a random alley. He immediately gained speed. A couple more feet and one minute left.
He should’ve saved his breath. If he did, he would’ve caught you in time. But he had to make sure you knew he was there. You looked down at the sound of your name. He could barely make out your face, but you saw him. He knew you saw him because your aura changed from that melancholic blue to sunrise yellow in an instant. Everyone around him gasped at the flood of light emanating from above.
You were right. It was the most beautiful thing he’s ever seen.
If Katsuki produced a strong enough blast, he could make his way to the top and get you out before the bomb went off. At this point, he didn’t care who else might get hurt in the process. Next to him, Kirishima knew what Katsuki was thinking. He hardened himself to block Katsuki’s takeoff.
“Don’t do it, bro.”
“Get outta my way.”
“You can’t make it.”
“Yes I can.”
“You’ll both die.”
“SHUT THE FUCK UP” Katsuki pushed him away, and prepared to blast himself, when two other heroes stepped in to hold him down, but no one stood a chance when Katsuki goes feral. Explosions erupted, not enough to seriously hurt, but enough to get people to back the fuck off. Even Kirishima (whose quirk is to literally be a human barricade) was having trouble blocking Katsuki. One more blast was enough to send Kirishima back and Katsuki used that half a second to blast off. But suddenly he couldn’t. He tried and he tried, but his quirk refused to work. A growl escaped from low in his throat as he whipped his head around, trying to find the cause to his problem so he could decimate it.
Target acquired.
Katsuki was about to march right up to his high school homeroom teacher and deck him right in his fuckin’ face, but before he could, he was held down once again.
He couldn’t fight three pro-heroes off without his quirk. He couldn’t get to you without his quirk. All Katsuki could do was look up and watch you die.
Five seconds left.
He saw it in your face. The moment you realized he wouldn’t be able to save you. The yellow of your aura growing dimmer and dimmer.
Three.
You smiled through your tears.
Two.
And winked.
One.
Then closed your eyes as you took your last breath.
The darkness that followed was unbearable.
A cacophonous wail erupted from Katsuki’s throat- loud enough to go up against any explosion. He couldn’t help but fall to his knees, unable to hold himself up any longer. He still wasn’t able to use his quirk and that only frustrated him more.
He’d never felt so helpless in his life.
-------------------------------------------------------
He hardly uses his quirk anymore because he sees you in the sparks. He’s got no drive to be Number 1 if you’re not here to watch him do it. His will to live is gone without you and that scares the fuck outta him. He hates you for filling his head with ridiculous bullshit. He hates you for opening his mind to the possibility of love, and hope, and shit that shouldn’t matter but it fuckin’ does for some goddamn reason. He hates you. He hates you. He hates you.
That same cacophonous wail erupts from his very core. The gun falls from his hands, to the ground. It could’ve gone off at that moment and Katsuki would never know.
His focus zeroes on his hands. How tense they get when he flexes them, how the vein protrudes from his wrist, and how his glands secrete sweat from his palms. He points them to the sky, and a familiar rush of power, that he hasn’t felt in months, surges through him. His blood boils from under his skin and he’s literally shaking from the intensity. Like a volcano spewing hot-blooded lava after an eternity of dormancy, he shoots blinding white heat into the black night.
The color from the fireworks surround his explosions as if they’re echoing his sentiment. Hot red dominates the sky- reminding Katsuki of the sky that night. This causes Katsuki to rattle off explosions quicker, setting off one after another in a staccato rhythm. The crimson sky ravishes all other color.
If only he saved his breath. If only he’d taken off his gauntlets sooner. If only he ran a little faster. If only he blasted himself a second earlier. If only he didn’t stay back at work that day. If only he turned right instead of left at that goddamn intersection. If only he picked up the ingredients for your favorite meal the day before so he could go straight home. If only he didn’t have to drive back to the market because he fuckin’ forgot the milk again. If only he decided it was still worth it to pick you up from work early like he planned. If only he cared more about your anniversary than about cracking Top 10. If only he went to more of your art shows instead of taking extra patrols. If only he went on that trip to New York with you instead of cancelling last minute because the agency needed him. If only he realized that you meant more to him than being Number 1 before it was too late.
Little by little the crimson wash is buried by the black night and Katsuki’s eyes hurt just staring into the black abyss. It’s suffocating him, weighing his chest down and making it hard to breathe. It’s enough to drop him to his knees, just like he did that night.
You and Katsuki had long talks about your future plans. How you fit into his life, and how he fit into yours. When you’d be able to properly settle down and have kids. You accepted that the first couple years into his career would be the toughest on your marriage. Katsuki would spend more time at the agency than at home with you. Relationships with pro-heroes were like that. But you respected his ambitions. You understood the amount of time that was required to fulfill those ambitions. You never held it over him, never guilted him into spending more time with you, and never made him choose between you or his career. You loved him enough to share him with the rest of the world. You were never each other’s other halves. Instead, you co-existed as separate individuals who made the best team Katsuki’s ever been a part of.
Yellow begins to flicker in and out, but it’s muted behind the black veil of regret. The more Katsuki thinks of your empathy and your love, the stronger the yellow becomes. It finally brightens the black sky, to the point that Katsuki almost has to cover his eyes because it’s like looking into the sun in the middle of the day.
And that’s when it clicks.
He’s burning in color.
You must be conducting this masterpiece from above, using the sky as your canvas and coloring the emotions coming from within him.
He kills his explosions as quickly as he fired them. The fireworks come to an end at the same time. The crowd’s cheers is a fly on the wall to Katsuki.
He falls back, lying flat on the ground and looking up at the sky still shaded in yellow. His chest heaves as he tries to get his breathing back to normal, and the sloppy mixture of sweat and tears continue to slide down his face. The cool breeze is a blessing against the nape of his neck.
He struggles to hold his hands up, they shake as he brings them up to his face. He reignites his quirk with the last bit of strength. The sparks lack their usual vigor as they flutter lazily in his palms. They remind him of fireflies swirling in a jar. For once, the orange doesn’t piss him off.
Has anyone else seen his quirk like this? When he’s not trying to intimidate or take down a villain? The only person he could think of was you. Maybe his quirk wouldn’t be seen as a weapon, maybe he wouldn’t be seen as a villain, if the world saw what he’s seeing right now.
Katsuki sits in this revelation, and the calm that washes over him is nothing like the numbness from before. He’s far from being okay, and he still longs for you in these moments, but Katsuki has a hunch that if you were here right now - holding his hands in yours- his sparks would be burning in your favorite color. And he’s okay with that.
“That is why I believe blue is the true color of hope.”
Katsuki’s phone goes off even in its broken state. His eyes dart between the phone and the gun. He groans as he gets up. His limbs, heavy, after exerting himself. He picks up his phone.
“Hey. Yeah, man, I’m fine, don’t worry about it.”
Katsuki’s about to hang up when he takes a look at the gun. A reminder of what he was about to do. A decision he could never come back from.
If things turned out different, he would not be here right now.
Just the thought is enough to make Katsuki slide down the wall. He takes a deep breath- his heart beating rapidly at what he’s about to admit aloud for the first time.
“Actually, I’m not okay. I need you to come get me.”

The Plus Ultra Chronicle
Musutafu Tower Attack: 06/18/2020
WHEN HOPE PREVAILS:
A DAY OF REMEMBRANCE
By: Yamamoto Ichika
06/18/2021
Today marks the one year anniversary of the 2020 Musutafu Tower Attack. Hundreds gathered this morning in remembrance of the lives lost that night. Several people who’ve lost loved ones in the attack have already come forward with statements.
Of those people, Number 7 Hero, Dynamight, has chosen to sit down with The Plus Ultra Chronicle for an all-exclusive interview. His late wife, Bakugou Y/N, was among the citizens that were held hostage that night. After taking a year sabbatical, he has decided to return to the field of pro-hero work. Here is a snippet of that interview; you can find the full interview here.
“Thank you, Dynamight, for sitting down with us. It is truly an honor. The people want to know- what are your thoughts on what occurred that night? Can you take us through what happened?”
“It was hard on us all. Whether you were at home watching on a screen or out there in person. All of us heroes felt like sh*t- unable to do anything. It’s even worse when you had a personal attachment to a victim like I did.”
“It must’ve been difficult as a hero- having to make quick decisions that forced you to separate your personal life from the objectivity of the situation.”
“If I’m being honest, I couldn’t, and it took a toll on me.”
“Is that why you took the sabbatical?”
“Yes. I constantly questioned the validity of my title. Whether or not I deserved to be called a ‘hero’ if I couldn’t save the one person I vowed to always protect.”
“You’ll be returning to the field next month, and with a new addition to your hero costume. An amulet of what looks to be a blue-colored spark attached to the left side of your chest. It stands out against the black, orange, and green of your costume. What is the meaning of this?”
“When I was at my lowest, my failures were all I could see. But someone once told me that you can’t get any lower when you’re at that point. The only real change you can make is to acknowledge and move forward.”
“A symbol of hope is definitely something we all need right now. What made you decide to finally give an official statement?”
“It is my responsibility to protect the citizens of Japan so this never happens again. But I also think it is important for people to see the shortcomings of the heroes they look up to. We’re human too. We f*ck up. I used to think that made someone weak. Now, I see it as part of the journey. The testament of a true hero.”

3 Oct. Suptober: Rainbows
With his finger, Dean traced the outline of one of the rainbows arced on Cas's knee. "Is it weird that rainbows remind me of you?"
s15 au; deancas
In hindsight, Cas was preoccupied, not only by the task at hand but by the person he was undertaking it on behalf of, which was likely why he didn't realize he had company in the bunker kitchen until Sam said, "Hey, Cas," and Cas almost fumbled the glass into the sink.
"Oof, sorry," Sam rushed to say next.
His expression was a variety of things, none of which Cas clocked as fundamentally apologetic while he refilled the glass.
Sam cleared his throat. "Whatcha doing?"
Cas squinted at him. Maybe Sam was drunk, or ill. "Just getting a drink of water." He left the statement there; Sam had seen him consume water before.
Sam fidgeted with the hem of his t-shirt and did not look at Cas. "Sure. You." He made some kind of gesture with his hands that did not seem relevant to anything. "You seen Dean lately?"
"He's asleep," Cas offered, since he knew it to be correct.
"In his room?" Sam's voice cracked on the second word.
Cas drew out the word 'yes' into something of a question. What was Sam looking at on the ceiling anyway?
"His room. Which. You just left?" Sam bounced on the balls of his feet for a second.
Cas looked around for intruders, hex bags, strange fogs, spooky auras, blood stains, a bucket of empty beer cans -- something that might explain why Sam was speaking like someone who'd just learned English.
"Yes, Dean's room."
Cas suppressed a smile that wanted to surface as his thoughts quickly flitted to Dean -- Dean curled boneless beneath a body-warmed blanket, his eyelashes fanned dark against the tops of his freckled cheeks -- and back again. He sat the glass in the sink and stepped toward Sam carefully.
"Uh huh. Okay." Sam took a step backwards. His line of sight popped back up to the light fixture. "Wearing. ...What it is you're wearing?
Cas glanced down past his bare chest to the flannel covering his legs. "Pajamas?"
Sam nodded a series of tight little nods, like an invisible puppeteer controlling him was getting restless. "Okay. Okay. And Dean is." He didn't trail off as much as seem to run out of ideas for the rest of the sentence.
"Asleep," Cas reminded him.
Another Sam nod. "Right."
"He tends to fall asleep for a while within thirty or so minutes after we--"
"Dude," Sam said.
Understanding clicked into place. "Ah. I apologize, Sam," Cas said, with a small sinking sensation in his stomach. "I did assume Dean had told you."
He was leaving out some words, and he didn't mean to play coy; it just seemed like perhaps Sam would prefer fewer details over more with regards to -- how to say diplomatically? -- recent developments.
"Dean tell me? Really?" Sam stared at him directly for the first time the whole encounter. His pupils were big black dots reminiscent of the ones he'd had when they were all cartoons for a while.
"No." Cas paused. "But I did think maybe you just knew."
An honest confession, since Sam, a skilled hunter with decades of experience beneath his proverbial belt, was often quite good at discerning patterns beneath the surface of verbal communication. Cas had not always been as certain of his own feelings as he was in the present. Indeed, it had taken years for what he felt for Dean -- unfamiliar, prismatic impulses occasionally strong enough to almost bring Cas to his knees -- to coagulate into something fierce and unshakeable that could in part be described in words, much less translatable to more tangible actions. Just because Cas had been slow to realize the depths of his own emotions didn't mean Sam had been.
Except.
Sam's eyebrows jumped into his hairline like worms fleeing chicken beaks.
"What," he choked out. "Why. No. How would I have known about--" He was flinging his hands around again. "--This?" The hands flew toward Cas like Sam was casting a spell at him. "You are like my brother."
"Um," Cas said.
"And Dean is my brother."
"Uh--"
"And I have literally heard him refer to you as our brother."
"Right.”
"Like, we're all brothers here." Sam gave a helpless chuff of laughter.
"Okay."
"So you understand," Sam continued, "why I might be concerned that my two brothers are apparently sleeping together." The volume of his voice went lower in direct counter to its pitch by the end of the sentence.
Cas chose not to comment on this, nor on the shadow that lurked in the doorway and then dissipated. He said instead, "I don't really sleep all that much, but I take your point."
Sam buried his face in the palms of his hands.
"I'm." Cas swallowed. He stood a bit taller, the way a soldier might when either respectfully yielding to an enemy or accepting that opponent's surrender -- not that Sam was a villain here. "I'm sorry you found out this way, Sam."
"It's." Sam took a deep breath, then coughed once. "You don't have to apologize."
"Sam, could you... There is nothing on the ceiling that could be that interesting."
"You have nothing to be sorry about." Sam spoke like he meant it, or at least wanted to mean it.
Cas let out an inward sigh of relief. "All right."
"The stress," Sam said. "What we do. Monsters. Apocalypses, plural. It's-- I know it's a lot." Now he had slipped into hunter wrangler mode, all rallying the troops and leftover law school pragmatism. "And I can see how the two of you might, you know, need to blow off some steam. Sometimes."
"Sam--"
"Dean always does get a little antsy when he goes a while without." Sam shook his head like he'd realized this was absolutely not a topic he wanted to think about. "You know."
"Sam," Cas said sharply.
"I'll stop talking now."
"I'm in love with your brother, Sam." Those truest words were spoken so easily that once upon a time it might have bothered Cas; in the present, it assuredly did not. He let Sam gape for a moment and then softened the statement with, "It's not just a casual, friends with insurance sort of thing for me. For the record. If that helps."
Sam looked like the human equivalent of the little tri-colored beachball that would spin and spin onscreen when one of his computer tablets got overwhelmed. Finally, his eyes cleared. "All right." His mouth quirked. "The phrase is 'friends with benefits.'"
Cas blinked. "Insurance is often a benefit extended to citizens in the United States, isn't it?"
"Less often than's helpful," Sam said.
Cas nodded. The two of them stood there by the sink, not really looking at each other. A thought came to Cas.
"I love you too--"
"Dude," Sam said.
Cas held up a hand. "--But I'm not in love with you." This distinction was one that had taken him a long time to understand; it seemed worth sharing.
The ceiling had recaptured Sam's fascination, but he was smiling when he said, "I know." He clapped Cas on the shoulder. "I love you too."
Cas returned the smile. "You, and Dean, and Jack -- you are all my family."
"Yeah." Sam ducked his head, as if pleased. "Yeah, I know."
Cas picked the glass of water up out of the sink. He raised it to Sam in a small toast. "Okay. I'm going to go back to Dean's room now."
"'Night, Cas."
Cas padded back down the hallway, opened Dean's squeaky door, and crept inside the room. The bedside lamp had been turned on. He watched the blanketed lump in the middle of the mattress for movement before asking quietly, "How much of that did you hear?"
"Most of it." Dean sat up and yawned. He scratched at the side of his head where his hair was sticking out. The blanket puddled below his pelvis. Cas glanced away like he hadn't personally and enthusiastically pressed those hipbones into the mattress less than an hour before.
When Cas walked around and put a knee on the bed, Dean said, "I also wanted water."
Cas bumped his arm with the glass. "This is for you."
"Oh," Dean said, taking it from him. "Thanks."
"Because I don't drink all that much water."
"Right."
"Because I don't sweat as much as you do."
"Hmm. You sweat some," Dean said, a hint of slyness in his tone. He leaned away to leave the water glass on the bedside table.
Cas sat on the edge of the mattress and let Dean scoot up to him. "Are you bragging about making me sweat?"
"Mmm," Dean said, splaying his hand over Cas's clavicle.
"You should probably talk to Sam in the morning."
"This is the morning."
"Later, then."
Dean wrapped his arms around Cas's waist like he owned the span of it. "Yeah, that's not going to happen."
"Maybe you could just--
"Nooo."
A sharpness tapped underneath Cas's ribcage, an angel blade's point pressed with deliberate aim. It took a minute before he could speak. He gathered his courage. "If you want to stop--"
"No." The word fell from Dean like Cas had knocked it out with his fist. His eyes were fever bright and anguished, and another, better ache flooded Cas's chest at the sight. "No."
"I am very much in love with you." Cas took a breath. "Sam's reaction, I know, wasn't entirely out of nowhere."
Dean tipped his forehead to Cas's. "I don't think he was objecting so much as he was surprised--"
"I'm only saying, I have thought of you both as my brothers, at various times in the past." Cas studied, not for the first time, a collection of freckles on Dean's shoulder. "I still think of Sam as a brother, in a way. He may not be incorrect that the situation, as it has evolved, is something a bit… Atypical." He considered a further implication. "And each of us is one of Jack's dads."
Dean huffed, a bluff since his fingertips were memorizing Cas's vertebrae like he planned to sketch them later. "Well. We can't all be the goddamn Waltons, or whoever."
Cas agreed, "We definitely do not live on a farm." He let himself sway toward the ardent way Dean was looking at him. "It might be nice to live on a farm, with cows and ducks, maybe some sheep--"
"And I am very much in love with you too," Dean said softly. He pressed his lips to Cas's cheek.
"Yeah?" Cas's eyes felt hot.
"Yep."
Cas thought to say, "You know, Sam is exactly who you raised him to be: a good man."
At that, Dean squeezed his eyes shut. "New rule," he said hoarsely after several seconds. He wiped his eyes and shook his head. "We cannot talk about Sam, like. When we're not even dressed."
Cas stretched out his right leg and wiggled his foot. "I have on these pajamas pants. Can no-one else see them? They're covered in so many things."
This was an understatement. Technically, the pattern contained no less than the following items: rainbows, unicorns, blue whales, yellow stars, shield-wielding pugs, and anti-whale flags, whatever and why-ever those were. Put simply, the pajama pattern was like an indecipherable code of images that seemed to illustrate the illicit drug use of the manufacturer's designer.
With his finger, Dean traced the outline of one of the rainbows arced on Cas's knee. "Is it weird that rainbows remind me of you?"
Cas thumbed a spot on Dean's throat, his mouth going dry with the desire to taste the pulse fluttering there. "In my celestial wavelength form, I suppose I would be more closely related to a visually-deducible electromagnetic wave than I would be a pug riding a whale into glorious battle."
"These pajamas are a work of art," Dean contended, kissing Cas's temple. "Hmm."
"What?"
"I guess that story about God -- Chuck -- using a rainbow to seal a promise about never again destroying earth with a flood is just apocrypha, huh?"
Cas thought about it. "Yes. Unfortunately." He tried not to sigh. "Sometimes I have to remind myself Chuck created some beautiful wonders despite...being who he is."
"Yeah. Going out after a hard rain and seeing a rainbow's colors arching through the clouds -- still seems hopeful." Dean started pulling Cas down beside him on the mattress. "Maybe that's what reminds me of you."
Unable to speak, Cas tucked his face into Dean's throat.
Dean's fingers were slipping beneath the waistband of the pajamas, ever so slowly. "Anyway, these are mine." Cas hummed an affirmative. "I would like them back," Dean said.
"Now?" Cas heard himself gasp.
Dean pressed him onto his back to nose his way down the line of Cas's breastbone, his warm breath teasing over cooled skin and coaxing out a shiver Cas felt splintering through his whole body.
"I would settle for you just not having them on at the moment," Dean said, using both hands to reclaim his property, and before raising up to kiss anything Cas might have wanted to say in response entirely out of his mouth.

13 for the prompts? (If it hasn’t been done yet) with obi wan and qui gon because yes 💜
I sure can! Thank you for the prompt! // From these prompts.
So I think I'm going to actually write a prequel chapter (or 2) for this fic later, so keep an eye out for that!
Anyway, here ya go:
---
As a Jedi connected to the Living Force, Qui-Gon has greater respect than most for life — human or otherwise. So for a practitioner of the Living Force, it is a little unusual for him to feel this homicidal.
No, Qui-Gon has rarely felt rage quite like this.
Of course, he does not want the people… No, wait. "People" is too kind of a word for them. He does not want the vermin slavers who did this to his Padawan to die. He just wants them to suffer for a bit. Suffer like his Padawan is currently suffering — and maybe a bit more after that.
“Let me go!” Obi-Wan screams, pulling on the restraints holding him in place on the bed. Neither Qui-Gon nor Vokara Che had wanted to do this — not after Obi-Wan had just been freed from chains — but he was clawing at his skin and objects around the room had started floating with every aimless gesture of his hands. “Please, Master, let me go,” he begs, his voice raw from screaming.
“Soon, Padawan, soon,” Qui-Gon soothes. “The drugs just need to work their way through your system.”
The logic was lost on Obi-Wan. The young man before him, just barely 18, looks as though he has been betrayed.
“Let me go. Please let me go. I need to stop it, I need…”
“Stop what?” Qui-Gon prods, hoping that humoring his padawan will help him work through it faster.
“Stop him.”
“Who?”
“The man!” he says it plainly like it is a well-known fact who the man is.
“What man?”
“The man with the scar on his eye.”
Qui-Gon tries to think through everyone he knows. He can’t think of a single person with a scar on their eye.
“What is the man’s name?”
“I don’t know,” Obi-Wan says, frustration mixing into the fear that hangs potent in his Force presence.
“Why do you have to stop him?”
Obi-Wan stops straining against his bonds and his eyes clear momentarily. The sudden stillness feels heavy — like something lying in wait.
“He will tear everything down,” Obi-Wan turns to look at Qui-Gon and his eyes are clear and certain. “Everything.”
A chill runs down Qui-Gon’s spine.
Then the fog returns. Obi-Wan strains against his bonds once more.
“Let me go. Let me out. I’m not supposed to be here!”
“You are exactly where you need to be, my Padawan.”
“No no no no no.” There is a crazed look of hysteria in his eyes. It is so unnatural an expression for his Padawan, Qui-Gon almost cannot bear to look. But he looks anyway because he swore to stand by his Padawan’s side through all things, even this.
“Stop!” Obi-Wan screams. “Stop it! Please! I don’t want to hurt you!”
Qui-Gon shifts uncomfortably. “Who are you talking to?” he asks.
“You were my brother!”
What?
“You… Obi-Wan, you don’t have a brother,” Qui-Gon stutters. Who is he talking about?
Obi-Wan tosses his head to the side and then tosses it again until he’s looking at Qui-Gon.
“Let me go!” Obi-Wan yells.
“So there’s been no change huh?” A female voice cuts in.
Qui-Gon jumps. His attention was so fixed on Obi-Wan, he didn't notice Vokara Che slip into the room.
“What the hell did they drug him with?” Qui-Gon growls, his anger threatening to spill over at just the thought of the slavers and what they did to Obi-Wan.
“We’re still running tests on his blood. But we narrowed it down to some sort of hallucinogen.”
“I could have told you that,” Qui-Gon mutters.
Vokara fixes him with one of her strongest glares.
“Apologies, Master Che,” he amends. “I am just concerned for him.”
“I know,” Vokara says. Qui-Gon is grateful that she does not tell him to release his anxieties to the Force. He is not quite ready to part with them yet.
“Do you have any idea how long this will last?” Qui-Gon asks, hoping this nightmare will end soon.
“It’s hard to say. It depends on his body and how fast it works through the drugs. Hallucinogens can last six hours or they can last as long as fifteen hours.”
“It’s only been three hours,” Qui-Gon says, feeling sick at the possibility of his Padawan enduring this for twelve more hours.
Vokara squeezes his shoulder in sympathy. “He’s a strong boy,” Vokara said. “A strong young man, I should say,” she adds on. “He’ll make it through this. I can’t say for certain without knowing what exactly is in his system, but most hallucinogenic drugs don’t cause any permanent damage.” “Most?”
“What I’m saying is that I think your Padawan will be okay. I have him on an IV so he won’t get dehydrated, which is usually the biggest concern with hallucinogens.”
Qui-Gon turns his attention back to Obi-Wan. Sweat has matted his hair and his skin is a sickly pale color. His screaming has turned into sobbing.
“Why are you doing this to me?” he cries. He pulls at the restraints. “I don’t like these.”
“We don’t want you to hurt yourself,” Vokara says calmly. She runs a scanner over Obi-Wan’s body and looks at the readings. Whether it is good or bad, Qui-Gon is not sure. Her expression gave nothing away.
“If anything changes, please come get me,” Vokara says.
Qui-Gon nods. “Of course.”
Vokara takes her leave and Qui-Gon gives his undivided attention to Obi-Wan.
“Let me go,” Obi-Wan begs again.
“I can’t,” Qui-Gon says. “You heard Master Che. It’s for your own safety.”
Obi-Wan groans. “What is happening to me?”
Qui-Gon’s heart feels like it is breaking open in his chest.
“I’m so sorry that this is happening to you, Obi-Wan,” Qui-Gon says “You’ll be okay soon.”
“But what’s happening?” Obi-Wan asks. Qui-Gon is hopeful that this moment of partial clarity lasts. Obi-Wan has been giving him false hope over the past few hours. Moments of clarity, all chased away by delirium.
“You’ve been drugged,” Qui-Gon says.
“Oh. I feel weird. I feel… not good. Hot.”
“Do you want some water?” Qui-Gon asks.
Obi-Wan looks like he’s going to answer, but his eyes glaze over and he is no longer looking at Qui-Gon.
“I keep seeing…”
“Obi-Wan?” Qui-Gon asks.
“I see…”
“What do you see, Padawan?” Qui-Gon asks, hoping he’ll be able to help Obi-Wan realize his hallucinations aren’t real.
“No!” Obi-Wan screams.
Qui-Gon’s hope vanishes. With a sigh, he begins stroking Obi-Wan’s sweat-drenched hair, smoothing it out from all of his tossing and turning.
Hours of begging and screaming and pulling at restraints pass until it seems Obi-Wan’s body is exhausted beyond its limits. His howls turn to whimpers. His sobs turn to hitched breaths. And finally, he passes out. Qui-Gon sighs a breath of relief and prays to the Force that when his Padawan wakes up, he will be his Padawan once more.
***
Qui-Gon can sense Obi-Wan coming back to consciousness before he even notices him stirring. He squints at the bright light of the room and groans.
Obi-Wan tries to move his arm but is held back by the restraints still keeping him down. Panic sets itself in Obi-Wan’s widened eyes.
“Why am I… M-Master?” His chest heaves with growing panic and he starts pulling at the bonds with renewed vigor.
“Hey, hey, Obi-Wan. It’s me. You’re alright,” Qui-Gon says, moving into his line of sight. Obi-Wan stares at him, unblinking and terrified. “What do you see right now?”
Obi-Wan hesitates. “I see you. I… I see this room. There’s not much in it.”
“Okay, good. Can you take a few deep breaths for me while I got get Master Che?”
“You’re leaving?” Obi-Wan asks, his voice going an octave higher.
“Only for a moment. You need to get looked over before I can let you out of those things,” Qui-Gon says, gesturing to the restraints with disdain.
Obi-Wan eyes the restraints and nods his approval.
Qui-Gon races out to find Master Che and she follows him back to Obi-Wan’s room.
“Hello, Obi-Wan,” Vokara says in greeting. “Are you feeling better?”
He nods glumly but does not offer her much else.
“All right, well I’m just going to perform a quick examination okay?”
Obi-Wan nods his consent and Vokara gets to work.
“I’m going to take these restraints off of your hands and ankles all right?”
He nods vigorously and Vokara undoes the buckles. When his hands are freed, Obi-Wan rubs his wrists. They’ve been chaffed raw and the skin is an angry red.
Vokara does not judge. She does not say a word about the welts. She simply takes a jar of bacta gel and rubs it on Obi-Wan’s wrists.
“Those should feel better in a few hours,” she says. Vokara follows the gentle administration with a blood sample. She runs a scanner over his body.
“Your vitals are normal, which is a good sign,” Vokara says. “I’m going to run your labs, and after that, we can see about letting you go home to rest.”
No protests, no haggling, no complaints come from Obi-Wan at the prospect of staying in the halls of healing even longer. Even Vokara raises an eyebrow at this.
“Are you sure you’re feeling better?” she asks. “Any nausea? Headache?”
“A little,” he says softly. Vokara exchanges a glance with Qui-Gon at the admittance.
“That’s pretty normal,” she says. “Is there anything else bothering you? Any other pain?”
“Just tired.”
“That’s to be expected after what your body has been through.”
“Hmm.”
“I’m going to run these labs, but let me know if your headache gets worse or if you feel like you need to throw up.”
He nods obediently.
Vokara leaves Qui-Gon alone with his Padawan.
Obi-Wan’s face scrunches up in concentration.
“What is it, Padawan?”
“There was something… something important…” Obi-Wan starts. Some of his earlier panic starts to return and his chest begins to heave. “I saw it. I just… I don’t know...”
“Hush, it’s alright. None of it was real,” Qui-Gon soothes.
“No!” Obi-Wan says forcefully, and for a moment, Qui-Gon worries the drug has not completely left his system yet. “It was… it felt…”
“How did it feel?” Qui-Gon asks.
Fear, sorrow, and anguish all flash across Obi-Wan’s eyes. His fingers dance in a nervous tapping pattern on the frame of the bed.
“How did it feel?” Qui-Gon asks again.
Obi-Wan stops tapping his fingers.
“Like the end of all things.”
The young man is still, as though he is afraid that the next move he makes will set his visions on a path to fruition.
“You need to stay grounded, Padawan. Stay in the here and now.”
Anger flared in the Force — white-hot and foreign.
“Oh yeah? You try to stay grounded after you get kidnapped by slavers and then drugged with some unknown substance that makes you question everything you see and feel,” Obi-Wan snaps.
Qui-Gon gives him a moment. He needs a moment.
Obi-Wan’s face crumples and he buries his head in his hands. “I’m sorry,” he says, voice muffled by his own hands. His shoulders shake. “I didn’t mean to…”
“It’s alright, Padawan. You’ve been through a lot in the last 48 hours. I will not fault you for taking a tone with me.”
Obi-Wan offers him a strained laugh and he wipes at his eyes before looking back up at Qui-Gon. “I just…”
“Tell me, Padawan. Anything.”
“Is this real?”
“Yes, Obi-Wan. This is real.” Qui-Gon grabs Obi-Wan’s hand and squeezes it. “Feel this?”
Obi-Wan nods.
“That’s because it is real. You and I. Here and now. We are real.”
Obi-Wan takes in a shuddering breath. “Okay.”
“Okay?” Qui-Gon reaffirms.
Obi-Wan nods. “Okay.”
“Good.”
Qui-Gon reaches over and tugs on Obi-Wan’s braid.
“Hey!” Obi-Wan exclaims, rubbing his scalp. “What was that for?”
“For scaring me,” Qui-Gon says, giving Obi-Wan a faux look of reproach.
“Apologies, Master,” Obi-Wan says. “I’ll try not to let it happen again.”
“See that it doesn’t.”
Obi-Wan grins at him before yawning.
“You should get some rest.”
Obi-Wan shakes his head, but he yawns again.
“You are obviously tired,” Qui-Gon says, unimpressed. “Why don’t you want to sleep?”
“I don’t…”
“Yes, Padawan?”
“If I fall asleep, will you stay?” Obi-Wan finally says, his voice quiet and his cheeks flush with embarrassment. “You don’t have to,” he quickly adds on. “I just. I don’t want to be alone and I’m still not sure if any of this is real and I want it to be real, but I—”
“Of course I will stay,” Qui-Gon says. “You’re real, I’m real, and I’m staying.”
“Thanks, Master,” Obi-Wan says, his eyes fluttering closed.
Qui-Gon stays and keeps guard over Obi-Wan’s dreams.

envy denial
aether x gn! reader
⚠️ : none
theme : fluff
note: listen i really love aether. ain't nothing stopping me from loving him 🥺😔 also thank you for reading 💓
⊱ ──────ஓ๑♡๑ஓ ────── ⊰
Golden-yellow eyes stared at a familiar figure who stood in front of a merchant stand not far from where the owner of the eyes sat. Aether's pale hands gripped on his knees a bit tight. Blonde brows narrowed down on his forehead as he silently watched [Y/N] interact with the owner of the stall, clearly interested in their conversation. Aether didn't understand. The couple were out roaming around Liyue. The outlander had a commission there and [Y/N], tired of waiting for their lover at home and being alone, decided to join in on one. Aether let them joined him on his travels but as long as they stood out of harm way. Yes, they had a vision but they had yet to wield a weapon. Support ended up being their role in his travels.
Shaking his head at the thoughts, Aether sighed heavily, his foot tapping on the payment in front of the bench he sat at. He still didn't understand. What was so interesting to ensue a conversation about it? [Y/N] only went up to the stall to ask about the commission's contents. Only to speak about other things unrelated to the commission. Aether groaned. His hands running through his hair. He felt weird inside. Like he hated [Y/N] taking the time to spend it with some guy behind a stand. Speaking about nonsense he didn't care about. What he did care was getting [Y/N]'s attention back on him. And on him only. As well as the commission, of course. But still to himself.
Jealous. Aether was getting jealous. He didn't know how to feel about that. He always see [Y/N] speaking to other guys, to his friends, to their friends. He never got jealous around them. So why did he felt jealous now? Was it the way [Y/N] laugh at the guy's unfunny jokes? The smile he loved so much being seen by the bastard's own eyes? How their eyes shined with delight when the merchant compliment their outfits and looks, the same smile grew wider? Aether didn't like that. Not one bit. He wanted to make [Y/N] laugh to his stupid jokes. He wanted to see [Y/N]'s smile. He wanted to shower them with compliments and be the reason their smile grows wider. He didn't like it.
"Are you jealous?" Paimon asked, her eyes glanced down at her companion who had a hard glare sent towards the merchant who continued to pull [Y/N] into the conversation, drawing it out longer. He shook his head rapidly at the question.
"Wha-what? Jealous? No, I... I just want to get over with the commission, so that [Y/N] and I could go back hold." And spend time together, he wanted to add in but he would never hear the end of it from Paimon if he does. A rosy blush decorated his face, causing the traveler to look away from the floating companion. Paimon sent him a smug look, a small grin on her face.
"Hmm-mh, then why don't you go up there and tell [Y/N] it's time to go?" Paimon egged, hands on her waist as she floated around the young man's sight. Aether bit his lower lip. If he did went up there, he would feel bad for interrupting. [Y/N] clearly looked like they were enjoying themselves. But if he went up there, their attention would be pull back on him instead of the other guy. His eyes glanced back at the two, picking up on some flirtatious comments that [Y/N] failed to recognize as such. Aether wasn't one for being a flirt. Despite the amount of times Kaeya tried to teach him when he wanted to impress [Y/N]. It just didn't fit him too well.
With a sigh, Aether stood up from the bench. He wasn't jealous. He didn't mind [Y/N] speaking with the guy, even if deep within his aching, envy heart he clearly wanted all their attention to himself. And their affection. Their smile. Their laughter. He wanted it all. Such thoughts created a pout and with no acknowledge of it, the blonde traveler walked up to the other two, clearing his throat. The small frown was still on his face, the pout visible as the clear, evening sky above them.
"Oh, Aether! Hey!" [Y/N] greeted, turning their back on the merchant. They managed to notice the pout and frown on Aether's face before it vanish and instantly replace with a small smile.
"[Y/N], hi, I thought I'll let you know we still got one more commission to finish off." Aether said, ending it with a dry chuckle. The mention of the commissions made his partner's eyes widen a bit.
"Ah! Right!" Turning back to the merchant, [Y/N] smiled for a brief moment. "It seem I'll have to look at the items later in the near future." They stated with an apologetic expression, bowing their head a bit. The merchant waved at them dismissively with a laugh, not recognizing the glare Aether sent his way. Before the merchant could speak, Aether already took hold of [Y/N]'s wirst, beginning to drag them away from the stall.
"If we ever come back to Liyue, that is! So, goodbye for now! Thank you for the help!" Aether finished off for [Y/N], pulling them away from the stall. The [hair color] vision user waved at the man before letting Aether drag them away. As they continued to walk side by side, Aether's hand still linger around [Y/N]'s wirst, his grip a little tight around it but they didn't mind. Silence took over the atmosphere. There weren't many people busting the city like earlier before. There was still lives blooming around the streets of the harbor.
"Jealous, are we?" [Y/N] asked to break the silence, glancing over at the blonde with a brow raised as a smirk crossed their face. Aether blinked, feeling blood rushed to his face once more as he tried to stutter out an excuse for his behavior and shook his head in denial. His partner only chuckle at his reaction, uniting their hands together and sent him a gentle squeeze. "If it makes you feel less jealous, I'll be happy to shower you with my love and affection, kisses included." They teased, a wink sent towards Aether as his blush increased in color.
"Wha-wait! I'm not jealous!" He continued to deny, but [Y/N] already began to pull him towards an empty area outside of the harbor city where Aether received the attention he wanted badly despite his silly denials of his jealousy.

Welcome To The Family (4/???)
1/ 2/ 3 here
Note- This festival is a different one than the festival arc. Sorry if the ending seems kinda sudden. Didn’t really know how to end it.
--------------------------------------------------------------
I’m unsure what time exactly they will be here. They probably should have told me that before, now that I think about it. Luckily, everyone is passed out by sunrise so that’s not an issue of them seeing who is in the vehicle. My issue is them possibly entering here, so I should probably wait outside.
On my way to get outside, I run into the mold-quirked male. He’s passed out on the floor in the hall. His really long, oddly-textured white hair sprawled everywhere around him. I’ve never touched it, but just by looking at it, the hair seems weird. It looks like what fuzzy mold possibly feels like if that makes sense. Makes me wonder if his hair IS mold. Gross, no thanks.
I wonder whether to wake him or let him sleep. I decided to just let him sleep and walk over his body.
Exiting the building, it was like there was never loud music blaring, or even a party. No mess anywhere. That must be how they get away with it.
I brought my money with me to play a few games, but nothing extreme. Of course, I should be safe around three heroes, but not taking any chances is still the better option than bringing all of it.
It only takes a few minutes for the familiar black car to pull up. Being texted they were on their way would have been nice, but beggars can’t be choosers. Hitoshi exits the car for me to get in.
I’m greeted by the very happy smile of Eri. That will never be a tiring sight to see. I buckle up and lean over since her arms are outstretched for a hug.
From the view of Aizawa in the front, he’s dressed decently today, and even his hair looks much tidier than I’ve ever seen it. The same for the first time he’s wearing something besides his hero outfit. No doubt Hizashi made him do it, or even more likely he did it for Aizawa himself. He still has that scarf though. I resist the urge to laugh at the thought of him unwillingly being tidied up by Hizashi.
In speaking of Hizashi, I’ve never seen his hair not standing up before. It’s a good look in the half-bun, but I wonder what it would look like fully down. Nope, don’t think too far into that. That’s kinda weird.
“Morning Y/N!” Hizashi exclaims.
“Morning guys! What’s planned first when we get there?”
“Eri wants to get a candy apple. She loves them after last time.”
I look at her. “Candy apples? Why did you never tell me? We could have made those at some point before.”
“It should be more of a treat than a daily thing,” Aizawa says.
“Says the one who pretty much lives off jelly pouches,” Hizashi informs.
“Like you’re much better with forgetting sometimes to eat at all.” Aizawa shoots back at him.
Jelly pouches? How in the world is he still in such great shape then? Obviously fighting and training often helps, but that sounds like multiple deficiencies just waiting to happen. Same with Hizashi. Jeez, these two seem rather irresponsible sometimes. At least they’re focused on their kids since I’ve never heard Eri telling me they forgot to feed her.
“You know how to make them?” Hitoshi asks.
I look at him and nod. “Yep. I helped a friend in the past who was in a candy apple tournament with their other friends. Whoever could make the coolest-looking ones wins. They sadly got second place, but to me, galaxy apples look a lot cooler than the tree candy apples that won. You couldn’t even bite the top of the silly things without breaking your teeth!”
Eri gasps and puts a hand on her mouth in the thought of breaking her teeth.
“Don’t worry. I wouldn’t make them even if I could.”
She nods relieved.
We get to the festival and Hizashi finds somewhere to park the car.
Walking around, I could swear we passed a few familiar faces to me. The games are rather interesting and pull me towards them, but we can go to them later since Eri wants a candy apple.
I notice Hizashi and Aizawa refraining from holding hands though they seem to want to. I try to come up with a reason for why that might be. Not very likely they’d be recognized by villains since they look like entirely different people. Hmm… Obviously, Hitoshi and Eri wouldn’t care.
The only other thing I can think of is their students. Of course, their students might be able to recognize them. Did they not tell their students they’re married or something? I know Midoriya wouldn’t care since I met him, but maybe there are a few in his class that wouldn’t be too open-minded about it? It’s not my place, whatever is the cause. I do feel a little bad though they can’t act normally.
Hizashi suddenly stops, making the rest of us stop, and pulls out his phone. He reads something with a frown forming on his face. He pockets it and looks at me. “Yo, Y/n? Could ya hang out with Hitoshi and Eri alone for a bit? Sho and I gotta go take care of something that came up.”
Hero work I’m guessing. Poor guys, they really can’t seem to catch a break. “Of course!”
They both then run back in the direction we came from. I look at Eri and Hitoshi. “Well, should we continue looking?”
Eri happily nods.
Hitoshi goes in front of me with Eri, probably leading the way since he seems to know where they are. I stay rather close behind them so no one gets between us and we lose each other from how crowded it seems to be in this area.
Over the music, I can swear I hear tiny explosions quickly getting louder, and maybe closer? Coming from behind me. I turn around to see people clearing from behind me to show an angry blond coming up incredibly quickly. Explosions crackling from his hands. His feral glaring face was enough to put so much fear in me that I freeze in my place. I clench my eyes closed and wait for an impact that no doubt is going to be painful.
“Kacchan, stop! They’re Eri’s babysitter!!!” A very familiar voice yells to the blond in front of me.
He stops with one of his hands millimeters from my face. I can hear the sizzling and feel the heat radiating off of it onto my face. I slowly open my eyes to meet his still-glaring ones.
… Isn’t he one of Aizawa’s and Hizashi’s students? I think he was one farther in the back frowning in the picture I saw on my first day.
In the blink of an eye, Hitoshi slightly pulls me back, and stands in front of me, preventing the blond from coming close again. Midoriya is running up to us as well. He tries to cheer me up by giving me a kind wave. It does little to help my still-panicked state.
Eri hugs me by my side in worry. I feel like fainting.
The blond becomes slightly less tense at realizing she’s hugging me.
“Hah? How the hell was I supposed to know with the way the damn extra was following so closely?”
“Uh… Kacchan, I don’t think Shinsou would be so open for attacks…”
The blond glares at him like Midoriya is the dumbest person on the planet. He refused to reply, and just storms off.
Midoriya looks at me and smiles sheepishly with one of his hands behind his head. “So sorry about that! Kacchan can be rather… headstrong when villains might be involved.”
I just shakily nod. “Uh… y-yeah, good first impression.”
Hitoshi’s face grows into one of great worry, and I think some anger. He puts one of his arms behind my back as a sort of comfort and support. Surprisingly, it helps a little bit.
“I think I need to sit down for a moment.”
“There should be some benches not too far from here,” Midoriya informs, and we get there after a bit. Miraculously, one of them was empty. I sit down with Hitoshi to the left of me. Eri sits on my right, clearly struggling in trying to figure out how to help.
Midoriya stands at my right, in front of Eri’s spot. He seems to be in thought for a moment. “Togata has a surprise the next time we come over. He found a new dress he wants you and Eri to judge.”
That sunshine adult makes me end up smiling slightly. Shinsou seems a bit annoyed at the mention of the kind blond. “Aw, that means Eri and I will have to make him another tiara so it will match his new dress.”
“I hope it’s poofy!” Eri chimes in.
I smile at her. “What color do you think it will be? Maybe it will be green! We should have one where we all wear green to match your tea set!”
Her eyes shine in excitement at the idea.
“I uh, I guess I have that covered,” Midoriya says.
“You know you don’t HAVE to wear a dress, right? I bet you’d look great in a green suit too! Ooh! You could be the beloved butler!”
“I think I’ll just stick with the dress I have… It was so awkward telling my mom about it back when I got it. I don’t know if I could ask her to buy something else too.”
Hitoshi gets a message on his phone and pulls it out. I’m too focused on Midoriya and Eri. Going on that idea of Togata helped calm me down greatly.
“That’s understandable. Suits can be rather expensive.”
“Midoriya?” Hitoshi suddenly pipes up.
“Yeah, Shinsou?”
“You might want to run. Ashido knows you’re here and wants to give you more dance lessons.”
His eyes widen fearfully, and he takes off while looking around.
“I didn’t get to hug him…” Eri says rather disappointedly.
“What’s wrong with dance lessons?” I question.
He has a rather large grin on his face. It kind of creeps me out a bit. How can someone be such a perfect combination of two adults that aren’t blood-related to them? “He usually doesn’t mind them, but recently they got struck with a personality-changing quirk. They became sterner than my dad.” It was easy to tell which dad he meant.
Just thinking of someone even more serious and stern than him is terrifying. I bet Aizawa isn’t too happy to be stuck dealing with that.
Hitoshi also seems rather relieved Midoriya has left. Wonder what’s up with that.
I look at Eri. “Well, why don’t we continue to find your candy apple now that things are a little more settled?”
She nods, and the three of us stand up.
It doesn’t take long to find them. They look rather unappealing compared to my friend’s homemade, but I’m not going to bring that up.
After Hitoshi gives it to her, she looks at it for a second, then looks at me. “What is your favorite jewel?” That’s an odd question out of nowhere. Then again, maybe the hard shell makes her think of rocks?
“Why do you want to know?”
She shrugs. “They’re so pretty. I like the red ones!”
Red like the candy apple? How cute. I tell her my favorite.
Hitoshi pulls out his phone and texts someone again. “Something is holding our parents up. It might be at least a few hours before they return.”
I feel rather bad for them for that. Being a hero is something I thank them for daily, but it must be so exhausting not being able to spend time with your family…
“Okay. What should we do then? I don’t think we should do any rides for now from Eri eating.”
Hitoshi shrugs. “The only thing we really can do is games unless there’s a different food you’re interested in getting here.”
I shake my head in reply.
Eri gently tugs at my clothes with her free hand. I look at her and she points at a prize in the shooting game. It’s a stuffed animal of my favorite creature. It’s also my favorite color, and even has a rather similar eye color to mine. Huh, what are the chances of that?
The game seems simple enough. Hitoshi notices what Eri is pointing at, and smirks at me. He crosses his arms. “Are you going to try first?”
I get the attention of the person behind the counter and pay, having them give me the corks. I load it and take another quick look at Hitoshi with a smirk myself. “Well, what does it look like? And I’m going to be the one that gets it for her!”
He teasingly huffs with a roll of his eyes. “Sure you will.”
I look back towards the prize and focus my aim.
… It misses. Not by much, but my aim is a little too high and too far to the right.
“You missed.” His tone isn’t condescending in any way.
“Yeah, yeah. I still have two tries.”
Looking again, I aim slightly down and more to the left.
… It missed again, but much closer this time. It’s the right height, but now I have it too far to the left.
“You missed, again.”
“Hush, you.” I don’t even have to look at him to know he has an enormous smirk forming on his face. I’ll show you!
I force my breathing to slow, focus a little longer, move just a tad to the right...
… Yes! I got it!
The person goes over and grabs it, giving it to me. I then give it to Eri which gives her an enormous smile on her face.
I give Hitoshi an “I-told-you-so” face.
“I would have gotten it on my first try.”
“Sure you would have.”
“Next time I’ll show you.”
“Mhm, whatever you say, Hitoshi.”
After that, we did a few more games and ended up going on a few of the rides. It was rather difficult due to Eri being too small for them. She was a little saddened by that, so I told her maybe she will be able to next year.
Hitoshi and I also ended up getting hungry at one point, so we bought some snacks. After taking a bite of what I bought, I look at the time. Surprisingly, about four hours have passed. I don’t think taking care of a villain should take this long, right? Maybe they got ambushed?
Don’t think about it. They’re pros. They should be able to handle anything.
In speaking of them, a message from Hizashi pops up on my phone. “Just about done here! Was a rather bad ambush, but we’re good! Gotta clear up a few more things, then we’ll be on our way!”
He put us in a group chat. Hitoshi is in it, and I’m guessing the other is Aizawa. He reads the message as well.
Eri is still playing around with her new stuffed animal.
“Should we do the same rides when your parents come?”
He shakes his head. “They will probably be rather tired when they return. Hizashi wanted to ride the Ferris Wheel with all of us more than anything.”
Why does that seem so accurate for him? “Really? The Ferris Wheel out of everything?”
He shrugs. “My other dad doesn’t really care. He’d rather sleep, but we all know Hizashi wouldn’t allow that.”
I laugh. “He seems like the type.”
A chill suddenly goes down my spine. Why do I feel like someone is watching us? Hitoshi notices my discomfort, and goes on alert, scanning the crowd around us. He doesn’t seem to see anything concerning. He pulls out his phone and quickly texts someone again, constantly glancing around.
“Don’t mean to be intrusive, but who are you texting?”
“My dads. I’m telling them to hurry up.”
Again, I feel bad for the two grown men. “It shouldn’t be too much of a problem. It’s probably just someone thinking they know me or something.”
He frowns. “Not taking any chances.”
I guess that makes sense. “If it’s such a problem, why don’t we find Midoriya to be with us again? I’m sure-”
“No.” He cuts me off. He was rather firm on saying it.
… No? I thought they were on good terms? “Are you two not on the best terms anymore or something? You don’t seem to want him around.”
“If there is someone watching, it would be better for a student in the top class to not be involved. It could make you a bigger target if your feeling of being watched is correct.”
Didn’t think of that. It still seems kind of like a ridiculous claim though. After all, Hizashi is a very well-known hero, so what difference would that make between Midoriya being with us or an adult?
I decided to just brush it off.
---------------------------------------
Whatever Hitoshi told them must have worked, since they arrived and found us at what must have been a record-breaking speed.
“Hey guys, you got here quick!”
“Well, we couldn’t let you three have all the fun now, could we?”
“Speak for yourself.” Aizawa tiredly mumbles. They’re wearing the same outfits they did earlier. I wonder if Hizashi was recognized during his fight. I have a feeling they keep their weapons in the trunk of their car just in case they get called.
I look at Eri and notice her yawn. I then look back up to Aizawa. “Looks like you’re not the only one that’s tired.”
He looks at her with the tiniest smile as she yawns again. “Fine. Just a few rides, then we go home.”
We end up on a few of the rides Eri can go on. I still don’t feel comfortable around Aizawa, so I try my best to sit with Hitoshi and Eri.
Hizashi keeps looking around as we go on a few of the rides. He tries to be more stealthy about it, but he’s failing at it greatly. Aizawa seems like he couldn’t care less. I should have just ignored it since now I feel like I’m ruining the rides for them for the imaginary odd feeling.
We decided the very last ride to be the Ferris Wheel. “You guys should go ahead. I’ll wait down here for you.” I inform them. Three out of the four of them look at me like I just grew another head. “What? It will be too tight a squeeze otherwise.” Hizashi just shakes his head and grabs me by one of my wrists to come with.
The feeling multiplied after he grabbed my wrist, making me forcefully stop and look behind me. He stops as well, looking in the same direction.
“That’s another thing! We can’t just leave you alone down here if someone’s watchin’ ya! C’mon!”
He drags me into the line for it with the others. Luckily, there wasn’t much of a wait. I can’t believe it’s sunset already. I also can’t believe I’m stuck going on it with them.
We all get into the cart, and I try to sit down with Eri and Hitoshi. Hizashi grabs my wrist again, having me sit between him and Aizawa. It’s a rather tight fit with my thighs and sides being pressed on theirs. This is rather uncomfortable, and definitely something I did NOT sign up for as a sitter…
At least the sight is beautiful to see with the sun shining brightly to the right side of us. Eri leans against Hitoshi and closes her eyes, hugging her new stuffed animal close. It stays quiet between all of us for a bit. Hizashi slips his arm behind my shoulders, making me tense. I decided he must be trying to give us a bit more room.
“Sorry for not bein’ around much today to hang out with. Tell ya what, why don’t you join us next Sunday for dinner as an apology?”
My eyes narrow in thought. “An apology for what? You guys couldn’t help it. It happens.”
He shakes his head. “Come on, we already cleared our schedules for it. It would be heartbreaking if you say no!”
“But I was planning on hanging out with my friends next Sunday… Why not the Sunday after that?”
“Just go with it. Having him change his mind is impossible.”
I mentally sigh. “Fine. But the Sunday after, I won’t be coming. I WILL spend my day with them then, so please don’t invite me into anything.”
I could swear Hizashi frowns disappointingly at the news, but his face becomes a smile before I can put much thought into it. “Great! Be sure to wear somethin’ at least a little fancy, okay? We’re going somewhere special! Oh! And we’ll pick ya up again!”
“Okay…” was my only reply.

Manager!Seijoh Part 2
a/n: lmao this is kinda weird for me but i think this was an interesting request so lets try it!
for more seijoh content, check this masterlist out!
lowkey kyotani kentaro typa beat but you gotta squint (??)
also warning! angst!
anon request: Hii! I just read the seijoh manager headcannon you wrote, it made me cry so much, i love those seijoh boys so much, and you are such an amazing writer! I dont know if requests are open or not but i was wondering what would happen if the boys ever find out what happened to reader cha? If requests aren’t open or if you just don’t want to write about it, I completely understand! Thank you for your wonderful writing again! Stay safe!
the stageplay was *chefs kiss* like MY MANS IWA WAS SERVING LOOKSSSS
soooooo
this might get really angsty idk so just a warning in advance
anyways
i mentioned in the earlier part that no one really knew what happened to you
so this one is when they DO find out what happened and what theyre gonna do about it
so first off, kyoken was basically the only one who saw you that day and saw how badly you looked
the thing is, at that current moment, he didnt really know the reason why and what happened
he had theories that you got jumped or you just got into an accident
but he was prettttttyyyy sure you got beat up
so you went home and rushed to yanno, take a shower and get your wound treated and cleaned so that it would heal bc you really cannot afford to let the boys see that
they would think of the worst at the smallest sight of blood on you and you really didnt want to deal w that chaos at the moment
you cant let them get suspended from school since they were going to interhigh soon and you cant let oikawa and the boys ruin their reputations just for you
a first year girl theyve just met
it was kinda hard to rinse all of the milk from your hair but you were able to at least get the smell out and clean up your mess
then you looked in the mirror and saw faint handprints around your throat from that girl miyo and you cringed as you touched it
‘jesus christ, seriously what does she eat? bricks?’
after your clothes were in the wash, you went to bed to get homework done and also looking up how to use the concealer to hide your bruises
you didnt really own any makeup but your mom has some so you could just use that
during dinner, you wore a turtleneck to prevent any suspicion from happening but you couldnt really hide the big gash on your face
‘y/n, what happened!’
‘i was dumb and accidentally fell up the stairs’
your parents shared a chuckle bc theyve actually seen you do this before so it was easy to believe the lie
‘darling, do we need to get you glasses? it seems your sight has worsened’
‘haha’
you went along with the joke but you weren’t eating and just pushed your food around
‘y/n? is the food not good?’
your mother asked but you shook your head with a convincing smile
‘its good! i just had some meat buns with the team earlier and i ate a lot so im still full’
you cursed at yourself for making it sound so rehearsed but you were relieved when your mother nodded
the next morning, you were satisfied with the reduced puffing of your face and you snuck into your parents bathroom where her makeup bag would be
as you held up the concealer, you started getting anxious because this was not the same shade as your skin and it would definitely raise suspicion if you had a different color on your neck than the rest of your body
you already planned to blame your wound as acne that you accidentally scratched but what were you going to do with the handprints?
the website you read said that it would take at least a day for them to fade
so you decided youd just wear a scarf and pretend you were cold
kunimi was confused as to why you had a scarf bundled around your neck and his eyes even widened at the sight of the bandaid on your face
‘y/n! what-!’
he shot up from his seat and your eyes widened before hissing at him to sit down
‘what happened to you?!’
he worriedly asked but you waved him off with a small smile
‘acne. this was the only available bandaid in my house so i had to work with this’
kunimi might be a lazy little shit but he was observant
and he noticed the way you said that sentence
it was like a robot
like a robot programmed to say what was written on its script
but before he could press on further, you already pointed out that the teacher was coming in and to hush so you could listen
the entire time, kunimi was awake alright, but he was too busy looking at you and a bright red thing that poked from the edge of your bandaid
kindaichi went to your classroom for lunch and you had to repeat your excuse for him but he pointed at another thing
‘why are you wearing a scarf? its like burning in here’
you didnt look at him as you just opened your bento
‘being in your period causes your temperature to fluctuate and cause unexplainable chill at even the hottest places’
okay what
they both shared a look and just shrugged, blaming it on your time of the month for the way you spoke with no emotion in your tone
this had to be the longest school day of your life
the whole time the scarf remained on and kunimi cant help but notice your flinches at the smallest of sounds
finally practice arrived and you really thought you could pull this off until oikawa barreled straight towards you and hugged you tightly
‘y/n-chan! you okay?! oikawa-senpai was so worried for you!’
you cringed but nodded
‘im okay, oikawa-san’
‘senpai, y/n-chan! call me senpai!’
‘im not going to feed into your kink, oikawa-san’
*cue everyone busting a lung*
‘y/n, what’s the-’
‘acne. only bandaid available in my house’
eventually, everything was fine
you were still cracking jokes w the others and you were still laughing w them so kunimi and kindaichi were at ease
but that shattered when oikawa was being oikawa and was being all touchy and bothering you about the scarf around your neck that he ended up pulling it off and he saw the marks
he was silent, just staring at them
ofc you were freaking out and you started breathing heavily
oh god he found out and he was going to hurt them
‘o-oikawa-senpai, listen, it’s not what it-’
‘y/n’
his voice made your eyes shut in fear and the others crowded around you and they all had scandalized looks on their faces
‘is this why you werent in practice yesterday?’
his voice was sharp, a complete opposite to his normally cheerful tone
you shivered and sighed
‘senpai, please dont-’
‘who is it?’
the other third years shared a look bc they were truly shook at oiks voice
‘w-why should i tell you?! its none-’
‘i am your captain and i deserve to know who is pulling you away from your managerial duties so he could just give you these damn hickeys!’
the gym turned silent
you stopped then furrowed your eyebrows
‘hickey? what-’
‘dont act like you dont know, y/n. so just be honest and tell me who’s your boyfriend’
lmao i shouldnt laugh bc this was supposed to be sad but im cackling at how dumb oikawa really is sometimes
‘i-i,,,,’
you stuttered but you knew this was the perfect opportunity
you could just blame it on this ridiculous misunderstanding
its a difficult hole to get out of but it would be easier than the other
so you pretended to be flustered and turned around to hide your face
‘it was a one-time thing, oikawa-san. i promise it wont happen again’
HELLO WHAT
the team was leaking the feeling of RAGE
how dare someone take their manager!
she was theirs!
and it doesnt help that every player might have a little thing for you
is this really turning into a harem
oikawa kept demanding answers but iwa hit him enough to quit and they finally went back to practicing but they were still distracted
every time they looked at you, they would grow flustered and red and end up missing a block or a serve
they just cant see their baby manager like that
you noticed it quickly and irritably got on them
‘stop staring at my neck and get back to practice!’
they flinched and saluted at you
lmao this little first year girl is able to control nearly a dozen <5′10 men who are all older than her
but you were glad that they finally stopped asking about it
this was going to go by smoothly and you were going to be okay
however,,,
several days later,,,
this is an angst fanfiction so i will bring thy angst
you were taking out your class garbage since it was your group’s turn in cleaning the classroom when you were grabbed by the arm on your way back
it was still outside and after school so it wouldve been an unlikely situation that someone would help you
it was that biatch miyo again and her 2 minions behind her
then you recognized one girl from the track team who was actually a year older than you but you saw her dropping off some files in the office
if you tried to run, she could easily grab you w her fast legs
great
you were stuck
you let out a tired sigh and crossed your arms on your chest
‘what is it you want from me, again?’
she smirked
‘you really dont know how to listen, do you? i told you to stay away from oikawa but youre still flaunting around with him!’
is she serious?
this girl was borderline stalker/yandere type of girl
you gave her an incredulous look and frowned
‘girl, do you hear yourself? you damn crazy and im leaving’
but she grabbed you back and shoved you against the wall
but this time, you kicked her on the chest to make her fall on her flat booty
surprise was written on their faces and you stretched your arms in front of you to symbolize distance
‘one more step and ill beat tf out of you. i just got my nails off so id watch it if i were you’
miyo huffed and stood up, brushing herself, glaring at one of the girls who tried to help her
then she remembered what you told her
‘hmm? if you hit me, you could be kicked off of the team since you hurt another student. so, go ahead, little kouhai’
she was right
even if it was self-defense, the school’s disciplinary section sucked and just suspended or kicked off people left and right even though they didnt do anything wrong
you were stumped
you were here on a scholarship, not on tuition
your mom would KILL you if she found out you got into a fight and got a record
but you didnt show that and kept your tough facade
‘dont challenge me. i could be a crazy bitch and i dont think youd like your little face being all messed up. so watch your mouth and leave me alone’
you turned to leave but she grabbed your hair and tugged it back
lmao flashbacks to the other part
she twisted your hair into a ponytail and had a firm grip while a girl kicked you behind your knees so you would fall to the ground
oh no you were done w this
you elbowed miyo on the stomach the hardest you could and she groaned which loosened her hold and you kicked her again to the ground
some other girl hit your side and you winced before slapping her straight across the face bc you didnt want to punch her and hurt your knuckles
but they were really testing you
the last girl still had your hair but you twisted around to face her and just did the last you could think of that would hurt
hit her right between her legs
you finally escaped their hold and miyo lunged after you
‘oh my god leave me alone!’
you yelled before holding up your arms to protect your face but she scratched your arms
obviously you were losing this bc it was just you but you were going to fight as much as you can
‘bad kouhais need to be punished! your senpais need to teach you a lesson!’
miyo screeched and you grabbed her arm before punching her straight at the boob
sorry rebecca
however, one girl was smart and did the same thing you did to her knees and made you fall to a kneeling position and eventually made you curl into a fetal position
gurl we actually fighting so hard considering we’ve never been in a fight
they continuously kicked you before miyo pulled up your head so you could sit up and kneel in front of her
ofc you tried to grab at her and punch at her
but these other girls were able to catch you and trap your arms in their hold and had their feet on your legs so you couldnt kick
great, another bathroom scene
your arms were bleeding from miyo’s scratches and your sides were hurting after their kicks
you lost and you were already bleeding in places you didnt think you would
this would be the last attempt and if he doesnt come, you’re done for
‘IIIIIIWWWWWAAAAAAAA-SAAAAAANNNNNNNN!!!!!!!!!!!’
your scream echoed throughout the entire are
possibly could be heard in new york
and your voice became hoarse
ofc the girls were surprised and caught off guard but when there was silence and clear that no one was coming, they started laughing
‘oh, so cute! iwa-san? is that supposed to be iwaizumi-san? heh, you whoring around w him too? thats so cute-’
‘LET. GO. OF. HER. NOW.’
I GOT CHILLS
the girls holding you shrieked and dropped their hold on you before scrambling back causing you to drop to the ground
miyo’s eyes were wide and there was horror all over her face at the voice of that infamous boy
kyotani kentarou
‘WHAT THE FK ARE YOU DOING?!’
he yelled and miyo turned around to be met with his piercing eyes before screaming and running away with her minions in tow
‘YEA RUN AWAY! FKING COWARDS!’
ltr the cursing is so awkward for me to do but this is his character and im just so awkward so sorry!!
you coughed and winced at the pain on your side which caught his attention
again, he noticed you as the manager of their team and you’ve been hanging out w him, well, just him staring at you, at the alley while you feed the animals
you were actually nice and caring and definitely didnt deserve this
‘oi, y-you okay?’
you didnt look up, just closing your eyes in pain and biting your lips to not let out the crying
his eyes softened at you and he noticed you were trying to act tough and brave even though you just got beat up
normally, he wouldnt even help anyone but it seems you just did something to him
he sighed before gently picking you up, you not even bothering to stop him, and he held you tightlyin his arms as he carried you to the nurses office
he had a feeling you didnt want to be seen like this and hes been in the nurse enough to know she actually leaves the moment school ends
you let out a shaky breath as he set you down on the cot and you opened your eyes to reach your hold for him when he went away
‘n-no, don’t leave-’
but he grunted softly before holding your wrist
‘im just getting your damn medicine. chill out’
lowkey getting bakugou vibes
you nodded and went to close your eyes again
kyo returned w some pain relief medicine from his bag that he carries
babie actually gets into fights often and he needs it sometimes
and he had alcohol medicine kind istg and bandaids for your arms
it was silent as you drank the pills and he sat down next to you so he could treat the wounds
but he let his curiosity take over him
‘why the fk did you let them do this to you’
he grunted and you scoffed with a smile
‘let? more like overpower me and grip me as they just hit me’
‘cant you fight them back?’
you glared at him
‘bruh i literally kneed some girl in their cooch but they just some superhuman typa girls that cant be hurt’
he sighed
‘maybe you just werent strong enough’
okay listen here you lil shit
you didnt want to listen to him scold you anymore so you just went back to closing your eyes
but kyo is actually lowkey nosy so he kept asking questions
‘the first time we met. was it her too?’
you flinched in surprise
‘you remembered that?’
‘ofc i did. you looked like shit. not as bad as this but still like shit’
‘gee thanks, stranger-kun’
‘kyotani,,, kentarou’
you smiled
‘nice to meet you, kyotani kentarou. im l/n y/n’
‘i know’
he mumbled but you didnt catch it
‘thanks for hearing me and coming to help’
he hummed
he wasnt going to tell you that he actually heard the scream for his idol and thought hed be there so he ran to go see him but instead saw you
kyo just respects and looks up to iwa-chan so much it warms my heart uwu-
once you were all patched up, you were finally able to stand but you still staggered
he grabbed your arm softly and sat you back down
‘what the hell are you going to tell the team?’
you paused then sighed
‘i dont know. ill figure something out’
but he knew how observant the players would be and they would catch on
after all, he was there watching at the top bleachers as oikawa yelled at you for the ‘hickey’
‘if they didnt hit your face, you could get away with it. but you have wounds all over you and theyd find out. im guessing youre doing this bc you dont want to trouble them or burden them? bc they would do something about it?’
you just stared at this guy
‘how-’
‘just a guess’
he also wasnt going to tell you that he was actually part of the team but the constant fighting got him in suspension
and the fact that his parents were donors for the school, he only got a tap on the wrist
‘so what do i do, then?’
‘tell them-’
‘no i cant do that! another plan, kyo-kun!’
‘oi, im a second year, idiot. treat me with respect’
the irony bc he totally treats oikawa like trash
‘i just,,,, oikawa-san is seen as this prince/gentleman type and i know how protective he is towards me so the slightest problem could cause him to be ballistic. miyo is popular enough to circulate rumors about him and hes already in his third year and she is too so i just have to endure one year until theyre gone’
kyo was disgusted
all this for that stupid idiot captain?
‘youre dumber than i thought’
you weakly hit him at the arm
‘so mean, kyo-san’
‘i dont think its right youre suffering for someone who isnt even worth it’
you glared and linked your fingers together
‘im the manager. i knew this would happen the moment i signed up but i didnt care. as manager, i have to keep up the team’s image and their popularity for support so i cant let all that be ruined just bc a little first year girl couldnt fight for herself’
‘just tell them, kid. less problems’
then he stood up to leave
‘kid?! im only a year younger than you! what you mean!’
but you were panicking
someone knew about you being hurt and they could easily tell the team
and it only increased when he entered the gym and later introduced himself as a player
you were so surprised that you stopped breathing
‘kyo-san,,,’
you muttered and he glared at you
well, more like look at you but i have a theory that kyo actually has problems w his sight so it looks like he’s glaring at you constantly but hes just actually trying to see clearly
‘yo’
oikawa was surprised at this interaction
‘eh? you know kyoken-chan?’
you nodded, still looking at the blonde
‘i-uh’
‘its none of your business’
kyotani grunted and you sighed in relief
maybe your secret would be safe
you were still uneasy about him accidentally revealing it, especially since he practically worships iwaizumi-san, but he kept his mouth shut
your caring personality at first was overbearing on him but he appreciated your efforts like volunteering on helping him with his eyeliner or asking him if he needed help with his medical tape
ngl, he also thought you were there just bc it was a team full of guys and you thought you could have that weird girl fantasy of having a harem
but you cared for them like practically a mother and continuously made it clear to oikawa that you were NOT interested in going on a date with him
you werent annoying, you were nice, and you weren’t pushy so he actually showed you respect and took a liking to you
this created a soft of protectiveness around you
sometimes, he would see you around school and he would practically glare at the girls he knew hated you
and when he wasnt there to protect you, you would call him to the nurses office where he would mumble apologies of not being there while patching you up before he would go over and threaten them to touch you again and he would bite their fingers off
aww hes so cute
ofc he still kept your secret bc it wasnt his business to tell
until that one day
it was normal practice with you helping the boys toss the balls so they could spike it
iwaizumi spiked it really hard making you flinch and he apologized profusely after you almost fell off the chair you were standing on in surprise
‘im just angry that that damn shittykawa is the captain and is late to his own damn practice’
oikawa? late?
that was unheard of
you were about to get off the chair and look for him when the devil himself entered the gym with the devil’s mistress on his arm
miyo was holding on to his arm as he laughed at something she said and ruffled her hair
you dropped the ball and kyotani quickly moved to you so he could stand in front of you protectively
‘oi! shittykawa! youre late!’
oikawa just smiled and pointed at the girl
‘miyo-chan made us cookies, iwa-chan!’
at the mention of food, the boys ran forward but you and kyotani remained at the side at the infamous name
you got off the chair and hurriedly placed an arm in front of him
‘don’t, kyo-san’
‘the bitch-’
‘i know. but please, dont’
you begged and he huffed before aggresively wrapping an arm around your shoulder
aggressively cares for you
‘if she does something or even talks shit, i will-’
‘kyoken-chan! y/n-chan! come here!’
oikawa called but kyotani snarled at him
you smile wobbled when miyo’s eyes narrowed at you and she smirked
‘oh? your manager is so cute, oikawa-kun!’
the rest of the team was just blinking at this weird tension
kyo had his arm tightly around you and hatingly glaring at this girl, who was icily smirking at you, and you tightly holding kyo’s shirt with a worried glint in your eyes
‘you were late to your own damn practice, oikawa. stop wasting time eating this shit and go back to playing’
tbh it still shocks you at how rudely kyo talks to oikawa but you were too pre-occupied on making sure this kid wasnt going to lunge at this girl
‘a-ah, right. oikawa-san, we have to return to practice. if you excuse us, miyo-san-’
you were about to gently grab oikawa’s arm to bring him back when she grabbed your wrist and secretly gripped it
‘oh, dont be so uptight, y/n-chan! i worked so hard-’
but kyo immediately snatched her hand away from you and squeezed it as tight as he could, making her wince
oikawa noticed the pain in miyo’s face and he was angry that kyotani was hurting a girl
‘oi! kyotani!’
he shouted and pushed him away, making the team, even iwa, worriedly look at kyo and brace themselves for the beating
iwa jumped into action and held the second year back while you jumped in front of oikawa
‘kyo-san, calm-’
‘you! be quiet’
he shouted, finger pointing at you
‘and you!’
before pointing to oikawa
‘you are a shitty captain’
‘kyotani!’
iwa was just straight out confused and hes really questioning life decisions right now
mom is stressed and confused, i repeat, MOM IS STRESSED AND CONFUSED
oikawa’s eyes narrowed but he just calmly talked
‘we’ll talk about this later’
‘miyo-san, we really need to practice so if you could see yourself out’
iwa gently smiled to the girl, who was about to protest, but makki and mattsun has already pointed to the door
she huffed then turned to leave and once she was gone, iwa let go of kyotani
‘kyotani, what the hell was that’
oikawa lowly asked and you were about to put your arms out to separate them but yahaba and watari grabbed you so you wouldnt be caught in the middle
then kyo turned to you, fire in his eyes
‘either you tell him or i will’
can we just talk about how protective kyo is?
you trembled and you roughly left yahaba and watari’s grip so you could gently place your hands on his chest
‘please, kyo. just leave it, okay? remember, it’s my busi-’
‘if i see that bitch enter this gym again, i dont give a flying fuck if shes a girl. ill beat the living daylights out of her’
‘kyotani kentarou, what-!’
oikawa shouted but your glare shut him up
‘y/n-chan, what is going on’
‘n-nothing. kyo-san is just, yknow, being him. you know? okay. now lets get back to practice, everyone!’
coach irihata and the other guy sharing that look
to say the least, miyo was pissed
and when she was pissed at you, she always did what she normally does
she corners you wherever its deserted and beat you with the help of her minions who holds you down while she slaps, hits, or kicks you
girlie you needs to tell the boys youre literally getting hit and abused and im just-!!!!!!!!!
and thats exactly what she did
only this time, she wore hard-tipped shoes
‘see, y/n-chan? i saved up and got these shoes just for you!’
the minions were just sharing looks of fear and genuine sympathy for you
they were only there bc she blackmailed them with pictures doing questionable things and if they dont help, they would be released
as usual, you didnt cry, biting your lip as you winced from the pain of her kick at your side
‘youre so pathetic. how could you do this to a person? and all this for your oikawa-san? for a boy?’
you wheezed at her causing her eyes to flare
‘HAH?! SAY THAT AGAIN!’
‘i said-’
but you were cut off when she slapped the soul out of you
her ring cut you at the lip and you cringed at the taste of blood from your lip
‘what else? we gotta hurry this up, miyo, because practice started like 5 minutes ago and im going to get yel-’
‘SHUT UP!’
kyotani entered the gym after his talk with his teacher and immediately looked around for you
his honey brown eyes scanned the area and they widened as your figure wasn’t in sight
‘oi, yahaba, wheres the manager’
the boy shrugged from the side
‘i dont know. shes late though’
oh god
‘kindaichi! kunimi! youre in the same grade right? did you see where she went after class?’
kunimi paused to remember before answering
‘she stayed after to talk to obe-sensei for the homework, that’s all i know’
that meant she stayed behind and was probably somewhere
‘SHIT!’
he shouted before bolting out the door
ofc the boys were all worried of his outburst and started yelling after him
‘kyotani!’
‘kyoken-chan?!’
they followed him, who was running as fast as he can
the girls would probably do it outside to avoid having to clean up their mess and he almost wrenched the door open in a hurry to take a lap around the school building
it was certainly a sight to see: a boy with dyed blonde hair and two brown lines followed after an entire volleyball team who were screaming after him
‘YOU-!’
he heard that bitch voice and bolted towards the back, where the dumpster was, and found you at the same position like the first time he saw you
blood was dripping on the floor from your busted lip and a cut on your cheek while your eyes were wide at the sight of kyotani’s panting form
‘kyo-!’
‘kyotani!’
your eyes watered at the sight of the entire volleyball team behind him, also eviqualiently surprised yet fuming angry
the girls who held you dropped your arms and ran for the hills so they wouldnt get caught
kyo pushed miyo aside as he grabbed you from the floor and held you
oikawa gave miyo a look that cannot even be described in words
all it was: incredibly, super, ridiculously, heatedly, furiously, angry
now multiply that by the entire team
‘hm, my father, who is the chieftain of the police, mentioned about there being jail time for even minors who commit serious acts like assault or bullying’
mattsun seethed
‘really? i think he’d like the video as evidence against kenta miyo for assault and battery, including bullying, so how many years would that add up to? nearly a decade?’
the girl miyo squeaked as oikawa and iwaizumi roughly grabbed each wrist
‘how long’
miyo trembled at the increased pressure on her wrist
‘IM ASKING YOU A FUCKING QUESTION! HOW LONG!’
iwaizumi has never shouted at a girl before and hopefully, it would be the last
‘s-s-since l-last month’
you burrowed your head in kyotani’s shirt
‘please dont’
‘shut the fk up, y/n-chan, we’re not talking to you right now’
oikawa coldly reprimanded
‘everyone, take y/n away. iwaizumi and i can take care of this. but mattsun, makki, track down those 3 girls and find others who have even touched our manager’
‘got it, boss’
if it was in a different situation, you wouldve applauded oikawa at his ability to be a leader but you were currently in pain from the bruises and the cuts all over you
your fellow first-years were angrily punching things in the nurse’s office
rip nurse in the morning when she finds holes all over her walls
the irony is, the most agressive one, kyotani kentarou, was the calmest as he quietly cleaned your wounds and placed ointment on the bruises
‘i told you so’
he mumbled and you scoffed
‘howd you find me anyways?’
‘dumb bitch yaps really loud’
he answered
no one was yelling at you and no one was saying a word
eventually, oikawa and iwaizumi entered followed by the rest of the third years
‘why. why didnt you tell us, y/n?’
oikawa asked as he sat down on the chair beside the bed
you looked down and fiddled with your fingers
‘if i did, you wouldve hurt her. and she wouldve spread rumors about you and ruin the image and reputation of the grand king and the volleyball team. i didnt want to do that to you and thought i could just endure it one year since youre graduating anyways’
iwaizumi sucked in a harsh breath
‘you wouldn’t have known what we were going to do. you are no oracle and you dont know how we are going to handle this situation. so you were really stupid for keeping these things to yourself, y/n. you may be our manager and our caretaker but let us take care of you too’
you nodded but your tears fell
‘sorry. im really sorry. i didnt meant to trouble you’
‘stop apologizing, y/n’
‘sorry’
‘y/n!’
you bowed your head low and bit your lip in guilt
‘i shouldve told you but i didnt and now everyone is troubled-’
‘we’re a team, y/n. youre not a lone wolf anymore. you have a pack standing right beside you’
watari mumbled and he sat down to give you his favorite hug: the one arm hug
‘im super angry right now and it might seem like im snappy but i really want you to know, y/n, that i really love you and i am just hurt that you didnt trust us enough to tell us you were suffering when i trust you with my entire being. so next time youre hurting or in pain, dont you dare keep it to yourself. tell us, okay? tell your senpais and friends about it so we can share that burden’
oikawa babie you are so mature like what-
what started out as a hug from watari turned into a team hug around the tiny bed, even kyo joined, and you were so happy you found a good team that appreciated you and everything youve done and accepted you as one of their own
‘oikawa-san, what did you do to miyo?’
‘again, im mad y/n-chan, so please dont talk about her right now’
‘iwa-san?’
‘dont use those puppy eyes on me! dont you dare-- okay, we’re pressing charges’
silence
‘WHAT?!’
‘and iwa-chan slapped her!’
‘WHAT?!’
‘shut up shittykawa you did too!’
‘WHAT?!’
a/n: this hurted a bit and im sorry if this was lowkey awkward and all over the place but i didnt exactly know how to portray this situation since ive never experienced this, just bullying in general, before but for those who have, please tell someone so that you dont have to carry that burden by yourself. it doesnt have to be a your parents, but talk to a trusted adult so that this type of stuff doesnt happen to you bc you truly dont deserve that type of treatment and deserve to be happy and feel safe in an environment like school or anywhere in general

DIABOLIK LOVERS Do-S Kyuuketsu VERSUS Ⅱ Vol.6 Yuma VS Azusa [TRACK 2]
Original title: 欠ける月を見ながら
Source: Diabolik Lovers VERSUS II Vol. 6 Yuma VS Azusa [CD not owned by me]
Audio: Here
Seiyuu: Tatsuhisa Suzuki & Kishio Daisuke
Translator’s note: I have no words. I swear the last few minutes of this track are just Rejet having way too much fun. You cannot convince me that they wrote that without knowing that it could EASILY be taken the wrong way. I mean, the whole situation isn’t exactly ‘innocent’ either way but it sounds even more dirty than it is. I’m not gonna try and hide either ーー my mind went straight to the gutter as soon as Yuma suggested she uses her hands instead of her mouth. If you’re curious what I’m talking about, you’ll have to read the translation. ;)

Track 2: While Gazing at the Chipped Moon
Yuma: For a basement, it’s brighter in here than I thought. Is there a window on the ceiling or somethin’?
You follow suit.
Yuma: Ah? What’s wrong? ...Ahー Ya pissin’ yer pants? ...I don’t mind. Come here.
Yuma hugs you close.
*Rustle*
Yuma: Just stay close to me, ‘kay? ...Take a look! Right above ya! There’s a big hole to look through! ...Aah, seems like this basement is right underneath the garden.
You look up.
Yuma: They’re a bunch of dried up branches layin’ ‘round the edges of the garden. I had no idea this kinda room was underneath it. I’m surprised.
*Rustle*
Yuma: ...Well, I guess it helps brighten up this place a lil’ without any lights ‘round, so I don’t see a problem with it.
Something catches his attention.
Yuma: ...Oh?
You ask what is wrong.
Yuma: No, it’s just...Ya can see the moon through that hole, right? Take a closer look. It’s slowly bein’ chipped away at. ...What was it called again? A lunar eclipse? Ya don’t see that every day. It’s my first time seein’ one.
You agree.
Yuma: You too? Hm...I see. Well, I guess we got lucky. It’s a rare sight after all. Too bad it’s from inside this creepy room.
You tilt your head to the side.
Yuma: This room just screams ‘creepy’, no? Ya still haven’t noticed? What kind of room this is, I mean. Take a good look around.
You look around.
Yuma: There’s a bunch of strange devices, right? Ya better don’t try and act like ya don’t know what these are.
You reluctantly answer.
Yuma: Exactly...Hehehe...Seems like this was the pentalty room. In other words, the items lined up here and there are what you’d call torture devices
*Cling cling*
Yuma: Take a look at these handcuffs. It’s still got blood on there. Means these bad boys got used at some point. Seems like the previous owner of this manor was a shitbag who loved pickin’ on the weak.
*Cling*
Yuma: There’s freaks like that crawlin’ ‘round the surface of this earth, ya see...They either get a kick out of tormentin’ others, or enjoy gettin’ teased themselves. ...Ah, right. Ya love that sorta stuff as well, no? Hehehe...
You quickly deny.
*Cling cling*
Yuma: Now that we discovered this hidden gem, it’d be a shame not to use the room to its fullest potential, right? ーー To start things off.
*Cling*
Yuma: I’ll put these handcuffs on ya like this. Hehe...
You protest.
Yuma: How does it feel to get robbed of yer freedom?
You beg him to take them off again.
Yuma: Ah...Lemme think. If ya want me to remove them that badly, don’t ya think ya should adjust yer attitude a lil’?
*Rustle rustle*
Yuma: Come on...Tell me what to do. Woah there, don’t look away. I’ve taken away yer freedom, so ya better keep yer eyes on me.
*Rustle*
Yuma: Exactly. Hehe...Nice expression. Bet ya didn’t think I’d do this, right? ...For some reason, I’m in a weird mood right now. Could that moon be to blame? I feel restless...in a different way from usual. I don’t really get it, but it has taken control over me, and I can’t help but have this strong cravin’ for...you. Mmh...”
Yuma kisses you passionately.
Yuma: I want to make you cry, make you submit to me...and have you admit the most obscene things. Mmh...
*Smooch*
Yuma: Hm? ...Hah. Judgin’ by yer face, ya just felt yer heart skip a beat, didn’t ya? Bet ya don’t find this all too bad, huh? Fine by me. I’ll do as ya wish. Come on, brace yerself.
*Rustle*
Yuma: What do ya want? Should I just leave some kisses here and there? Like this...Mmh...
*Smooch*
You flinch.
Yuma: Or do ya prefer the pain? Ya want these fangs, don’t ya? Haha...Don’t try and hide it. I know that you’re yearnin’ for them. However, I won’t give them to ya ーー not this easily at least. That’d be borin’ as hell, right? We’ve got this convenient room to our disposal after all...
*Cling cling*
Yuma: Makes ya wanna try and push yer boundaries a lil’, no? Hehe...Let’s leave the main course for last and enjoy some stuff we usually never get to do. Nn...
*Rustle*
Yuma: This is a whip, right? No doubt in mind that guy used this to torment those poor little lambs. ...Didn’t I tell ya earlier, there’s people who need that sorta kick. Perhaps I’m one of them as well? When I picture your expression as you fight back the pain...It sends shivers down my spine.
*Rustle*
Yuma: Ahn? I’m not actin’ like myself? Ya think so? Hah. Then this room and the moon might be messin’ with my head. I shouldn’t be interested in lil’ games enjoyed by those disgustin’ noblemen. If anythin’, they used to make me gag...So I wonder why I’m havin’ so much fun right now? ...Could this be my true colors showin’...?
*SMACK*
Yuma: Heh. This bad boy makes quite the sound. ...Wait, what am I doin’? ...Aah, my bad. I felt a lil’ dizzy just now...There really is somethin’ wrong with me, huh? Ugh...
*Rustle*
Yuma: I...
You seem worried.
Yuma: Hah. ...Haha. Just kidding~
You get upset.
Yuma: Ah? I was jokin’ just now. I wanted to see what kind of face you’d make, and just couldn’t help myself.
You protest.
Yuma: It looked convincin’? Don’t be fuckin’ kiddin’ me. I’m not the type of dude who would torment the weak, geez. Ya can’t even tell the difference between the truth and an act? Ya really are an idiot.
*Cling cling*
Yuma: There we go...Oi, lift yer hands a lil’ higher. I’m gonna remove the handcuffs.
You obey.
Yuma: Ahー The hole’s over here, right? ...’Kay. ...Huh?
*Cling cling*
Yuma: Ahn? ...That’s odd...I’m pretty sure this key...Ugh...Ah!
*Clunk*
Yuma: Ah...Fuck! It broke!
You make a fuss.
Yuma: Ah, hold on! Do ya really need to get that upset!? ...Hey! Don’t hit me!
*Thud thud*
Yuma: ...Calm down!! I can just chop off yer wrists and problem solvーー
You continue protesting.
Yuma: ...I’m just kiddin’! Geez...I’m sure we’ll find a solution if we head upstairs. ...God, yer wrists are bleedin’. It’s ‘cause ya kept on movin’ ‘round. Does it hurt?
You nod.
Yuma: Guess I have no other choice. I’ll apply first aid.
Yuma licks the wound.
Yuma: There. Lil’ better now? ...Let’s say we’re even now, ‘kay?
You puff out your cheeks.
Yuma: Don’t hold it ‘gainst me. I was just curious how it’d feel to step out of my comfort zone for once. Don’t ya ever get that itch to try somethin’ new as well? ...More importantly, drinkin’ yer blood made me thirsty.
*Sluuuurp*
Yuma: After all, you’re like a delicious treat. Just a lil’ taste isn’t enough to satisfy us. ...Ah, yer blood really is nice. ...Say? Won’t ya let me feed off ya now that you’re stuck like this anyway? Ya don’t mind, do ya?
You hesitate.
Yuma: Ahー What a pain.I’ll take that silence as a yes. I’m not the most patient fella ‘round.
*Rustle*
Yuma: Now behave. I won’t hurt ya.
Yuma bites you.
*Sluuuuurp*
Yuma: Mmh...Delicious...I can’t stop...
*Rustle*
Yuma: ...Gimme more...I’ll suck from this hand next. Mmh...
*Sluuuuurp*
Yuma: Mmh...Nn...
*Sluuuuurp*
Yuma: ...Haahー This is bad...I really went to town on ya, huh...Did it hurt? Or maybe it feels good?
You whimper softly.
Yuma: Hehe...I wonder if it’s ‘cause ya had yer blood sucked while being handcuffed, but ya look as if ya enjoyed it way more than usual.
You seem embarrassed.
Yuma: No need to be ashamed. ...It’s too late for that. I’ve been showin’ ya my pathetic side as well, no? When I see yer blood...or get a wiff of it...I get so turned on, I lose sight of myself. However...
*Rustle*
Yuma: That blood of yers...
He sniffs it.
Yuma: Hmmー How strange, it doesn’t smell as strong as usually...Now that ya mention it, I feel as if it tastes different as well? The fuck’s goin’ on? ...Oi, Sow. Stop spacin’ out and look at me, come on!
He forces your face his way.
Yuma: ...Do ya notice anythin’ off ‘bout me?
You shake your head.
Yuma: Right? But ya know, something’s not right. ...Oi, inspect my body. I’m sure there’s somethin’ wrong with it.
You seem baffled.
Yuma: This time I’m serious. I’m not just teasin’ ya. Come on, hurry up.
You protest.
Yuma: Ahn? Ya can’t use yer hands? ...Well, I guess that’s true. But even without yer hands, you’ve got somethin’ else that’ll work just fine as a replacement, right?
You tilt your head to the side.
Yuma: Whatcha so confused ‘bout? I’m obviously talkin’ ‘bout that mouth of yers.
You seem surprised.
Yuma: Check my body thoroughly with those lips. ーー Oh come on, didn’t I tell you just now? I’m bein’ serious. 100% sincere. So, where ya wanna start? With my neck, perhaps?
*Rustle*
Yuma: Yeah, just start from there and take it nice and slow...What’s wrong? Are ya holdin’ back? ...Ya can be a little more rough, ya know?
*Rustle rustle*
Yuma: Ah...Your lips are so soft...Nn...It’s almost like someone is trailing a feather across a skin...Ah...
You sigh.
Yuma: Hah? Ya won’t be able to tell this way? You’re always so quick to decide without givin’ it a try, huh? How dull. Come on, get on with it already.
*Cling*
Yuma: Nn...Yeah, just like that...See? Ya can do it after all...Or are ya growin’ desperate now? Hahaha...Ya suddenly...picked up the pace...Nn...It tickles. Is this you’re way of takin’ revenge? ...Oh well, whatever.
You continue trailing your lips across his skin.
Yuma: Yeah, just keep goin’ like that...Nn...Carefully slide your lips across...Hah...Nn...Feels good...
*Rustle*
You ask if he’s doing this to tease you again.
Yuma: Hahaha...Guess I’m busted, huh?
*SMACK*
Yuma: ...Ow!! Did ya really need to hit me!? I was just havin’ some fun! For one, we wouldn’t need doctors if we could simply find out what’s wrong with someone’s body this way.

doll - jeong yunho
a/n: @yunhoshoe i hope i did your idea justice 🥺🥺 thank you for letting me steal it lmao
a/n: please excuse all spelling mistakes lol
content: dollification, pet names (doll, baby, and darling i think those are it), handjob (male receiving), pegging, mentions of orgasm control(?) idk i’m so bad at this sorry, putting makeup on yunho, then proceeding to ruin his makeup, and subsequently him.
word count: 1.2k
holding up two single pan blushes next to yunho’s face, one more rose and one more coral, you make a conflicted face.
“which color would be a better shade for your complexion?” you ask, but yunho knows not to respond. you weren’t speaking to him and even if you were, he’s not supposed to speak, “hm… i think i’ll go with the rose. we can always switch it up next time, okay?”
he’s less than a second that absentmindedly nodding, but he catches himself. he’s not allowed to react. he has to remember that. he’s your perfect doll, and he plans to stay that way.
the brush feels so soft against his cheeks, and you apply the blush with a hand holding onto his jaw to maintain grip. the tight hold you have makes him feel so incredibly weak, and he loved it.
you spend the next what feels like an hour continuing to apply makeup to his face. it wouldn’t have been so bad if he wants already painfully hard and all you did was tease him every now and then, rubbing your knee against his crotch or running your hand over his chest, making sure to play with his sensitive nipples.
“ahh, you’re such a beautiful doll, yuyu. i can’t wait to play with you…” you whisper, and though he tries not to react, he shivers at your breath on his neck.
“i wonder what happens when i do this…” you mutter as you flick your finger against his sensitive chest and he whimpers softly, “ooh! what a fun setting! what if i do this?” you ask yourself again, this time letting your hand fall to brush against his inner thigh, getting so, so close to where he needed you right now, but never actually giving him the relief he wanted.
“i love this outfit on you, yuyu,” you whisper, playing with the fabric of his sleeves and pulling the fabric over his hand so only his fingers were visible, “but you wanna know what i love more? i love how perfect you are under it.”
his eyes betray him, and despite the fact he can hold his tongue, he can’t stop himself from looking back at you, “oh dolly, you’re just so beautiful.”
the makeup serves to hide his real blushing cheeks as he looks away from you. dissatisfied with his response, you forcing him to look at you by holding onto his jaw, “oh! my doll’s cheeks are so soft! just like mochi! how realistic… i wonder what would happen if i— oh my!! they’re so fun to pinch!!”
yunho really wants to laugh at your cute behavior, but he doesn’t even have to urge to giggle when your fingernail trails lightly along his length over the skirt you made him wear, instead opting to whimpering when your hand pulls away, “what was that? did i hear something just now?” you fake confusion, “hmm, maybe i’m just crazy.”
you decide to finally have mercy on him when your hand slides under the skirt to palm him under his— well, technically your— panties and he sighs out a loud breath he didn’t know he was holding. you pull at his ear and he yelps in pain, “remember: dolls don’t make any noise, so if i hear any more out of you, i’ll be considerably less kind. got it?”
he nods quickly, and you let go of him, going back to jerking him off. he’s really trying to hold in his moans, his teeth almost drawing blood from how much pressure he’s putting on his lips. so it’s understandable when you start moving your hand faster and whispering little nothings to him that he starts to give in. he thinks this game you’re playing is so incredibly cruel, but he’s loving every second of it.
he moans out loudly the second he lets go of his will to stay quiet, all the pleasure he was holding in bursts out of him. he rushes to apologize, but you place a finger over his lips, “say anything and your punishment gets ten times worse, shut up.”
you don’t pay attention to how his face reacts to your words because his dick twitches and you want to laugh at how pathetic he looks, biting at his shoulder. he’s letting out the most delicious of moans, and as much as each and every one of them sounds like a symphony, you can’t allow it.
“does my dolly think he’s allowed to speak? well, that just can’t be, let’s hope he likes making noise because i’ll have him screaming.” you whisper.
pushing him back on the bed and flipping him over roughly, he thinks about just how much he loves it. how much he loves to feel completely under your control, to be your perfect doll. all he has to do is stay still and look pretty.
his cheek rubs against the pillow, and he tries to lift his head as to not ruin the makeup you spent so long on, but you force his head back down, “don’t you think i want to see you ruined, my doll?”
he whines out for you, and you can’t have that. your hand collides with his skin with a loud thud, and he cries out. he doesn’t notice how you already have a strap-on ready, he just feels the coldness of the lube that covered it. the burning pain sears through him, and he’s never felt more alive.
“oh you’re such a good fucktoy, baby.” you say, running your hands up and down his skin, making him whimper from the bruises that littered his skin.
you refuse to give him any time to adjust, snapping your hips forward and backward sharply. he starts sobbing into the pillow he’s holding onto for dear life, the tears making his mascara run. he just looks so deeply and utterly broken. he wants to scream out in pain and pleasure when you force his leg in a weird position to hit his prostate just right. he doesn’t even have it in him to ask for permission, poor boy can’t even form a sentence in his current state.
his orgasm hits him harder than ever before, and he collapses down, no strength left in him to withstand your pounding into him. he whimpers from the pain of overstimulation, begging you to stop. you can tell the poor boy’s had enough, so you slow down and eventually stop your movements all together as he sighs in relief.
his cum spilled all over the bed and his stomach, and there’s no reason to let it go to waste. you rub some off his abs with your hand and smear it across his cheek, “ah, doll, you looked so perfect with your makeup before, but you’re so much more beautiful now.”
“y/n!” he cries out in embarrassment at your teasing.
you take a second to take him all in. whether or not his blush is is real or makeup (or both) at this point is hard to tell. the smeared lipstick mixed with his running eye makeup from his tears just makes him so disheveled and ruined.
“what a dirty doll you are, baby, moaning like that just so i could ruin you,” you murmur against his skin, “but i’m not done with you yet. i haven’t even cum, darling, so get ready.”
tonight is far from over.

Necessary Needles
This is part of my Four Years AU
AO3
Masterpost
. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .
The Boiling Isles, like any other place, had its own diseases. Some were unavoidable, like the bright maggots that lived at the Toes who gave you bright disease. Having your organs glow and shrivel up was not fun.
However, like any other place, they had ways to combat most diseases. Schools like Hexside required it. You can’t expect to deal with abominations, beasts, healing, multiple species of plants, and the occasional wayward potion and expect to come out completely clean.
So the worry of Luz having no papers or medical exams to speak of was bound to come up.
,
“We need to take her to a healer, Edalyn.” Lilith hissed, crossing her arms. “She’s human, she’s incredibly exposed to everything here.”
“Coming down with a little flu isn’t that big a deal,” Eda muttered, turning her head away and crossing her arms. “She’ll be fine in a few days.”
“She might, but what if it was worse?” Lilith persisted. “Hexside is looking for papers saying that she’s been vaccinated. They could kick her out!”
“Bump is a flexible guy,” Eda snapped. “Look,” She sighed, shoulders slumping. “It’s not that I disagree. Luz could get sick pretty easily. But like you said, she’s human. We don’t know how those vaccines are going to react to her.”
Lilith thought for a moment, pacing the living room. Luz had been sent to bed hours earlier after it’d been revealed she’d woken up with the Centipoodle Flu. Not typically deadly, unless you were very unlucky. But worrying all the same.
“Human biology isn’t all that different from witches, is it?” Lilith asked. “The shots are designed to fit a very broad section of witches, even half-demons can take those.”
“Well, she doesn’t have a bile sac, that’s a big difference.” Eda pointed out. “And…” She frowned.
“Actually, I think that’s the only issue.” She blinked. “I don’t think lack of fangs, rounded ears, and getting excited about hisses and growls do much.” She said.
“Her vocal cords must be different if she can’t hiss,” Lilith nodded. “But I doubt that will be a problem.”
“Okay, er, blood vessels or something?” Eda tried. “Those could be different. If she doesn’t have a bile sac, who knows what else she does or doesn’t have.”
“I really think it’ll be fine,” Lilith insisted. “I doubt that vaccines as modified as these will cause serious harm to Luz.”
“This isn’t a spell that’ll go away after a day, Lilith,” Eda growled, pacing around the living room table.
Lilith flinched at the obvious reference and cleared her throat.
“As hard as it seems to believe, I do want Luz to be safe.” She said, carefully keeping her voice low. “I understand she means a lot to you. But it will only get worse if she’s left to the elements on her own.”
Eda glanced back, scowling with her ears laying back.
“I’ll think about it.” She finally said. “We’ll see how she is when she gets better.”
“Thank you, Edalyn.” Lilith sighed, the tension releasing from her shoulders.
“But if she gets them, I’m making you take her.” Eda added, pointing an accusing finger at her sister. “Which gives me more leverage to bully you if she hates you. Those things are painful.” She winced at the memory.
“Uh huh, of course.” Lilith nodded, mildly amused. “And because I can at least pretend I’m not a wanted criminal?”
“That too.” Eda agreed. “Also, if you kidnap Luz, it’s on sight.” She warned, eyes narrowing.
“Why in the world would I want to…?” Lilith began to question before Eda gave her a deadpan stare and she slowly shut her mouth again.
“Right, of course. How could I ever forget?” She sighed.
“Don’t worry, I’ll keep reminding you.” Eda said cheerfully.
“Oh, I’m well aware.”
,
Luz had been better within a few days. Still a bit sniffly, but otherwise no worse for wear. Eda had finally relented to letting her get vaccines, and true to her word, Lilith was the only one who took her.
Of course, disguises were hardly needed. It had only taken a year for everyone to recognize the residents of the Owl House on instinct alone. Though Lilith did make illusions to make sure the Emperor’s Coven wouldn’t come around.
And the sheer intimidation of her existence was enough to convince the healers to usher Luz away to get her shots that, in the humans opinion, looked a lot like leeches and hurt way more.
Aside from a somewhat numb arm full of leech bite-marks, Luz returned to the Owl House with no problems, despite Eda’s best efforts to prove otherwise.
Lilith, incredibly smug, said that really, the worst that would happen was that Luz would get sick for a bit and need checkup, but nothing more.
With that, Luz had gone to bed to read her books with King before passing out like she always did.
Eda could never push away a small lingering quiver of worry.
,
Eda was awoken at six in the morning to the sound of something, very loudly, crashing down the stairs.
And since she was used to interruptions like these, and heard plenty of muffled giggling and thumping after the fact, she wasn’t overly worried as she pulled herself out of her nest.
“Luz, did you sneak in a baby griffin again?” Eda called, walking down the hallway towards the stairs.
“Eda, Eda,” Luz’s giggling drifted from the bottom of the steps. “Eda I can feel colors.”
Eda paused for a brief moment, slowly processing what she heard her say.
Then she broke into a near-sprint as she stopped at the top of the stairs, spotting Luz in a tangle of limbs at the bottom, giggling like a madman.
Eda hurried down and pulled the kid up, checking for any broken bones or sprains, which thankfully there were none of.
“Eda, colors feel weird.” Luz whispered, looking up at the witch. “Really really weird. But also kinda cool?”
Eda sucked in a breath at the sight, letting go of Luz.
Her pupils were heavily contracted. Like she was staring right into a flashlight. While she spoke, her left pupil had suddenly expanded and began growing and shrinking at the speed of a broken lightbulb.
“Oh boy,” Eda breathed, worry creasing her brow. “Do you feel alright, kid?”
“Thirsty,” Luz said, her head slowly falling to the side before she jerked it back up again. “And excited! I don’t know why, but I am! Everything’s really bright but also not?” She said, looking around.
“Christ, I haven’t seen a trip like this since King ate moondust.” Eda murmured, running a hand through her hair and shaking her head.
“Hmm?” Luz hummed, clearly only half paying attention.
“Just, go sit on the couch, please.” Eda sighed. “I need to get Lilith.”
“Okay!” She said, overly cheerful.
And then she just stood there, blinking fish-eyed at Eda, still smiling.
“Uh, kid? Couch,” Eda said, pointing off towards the door to the living room.
“Oh, yeah,” Luz said, shaking her head and stumbling, slamming into the doorframe on the way out.
Eda watched Luz leave for a few seconds before growling and storming her way back up the stairs.
King had awoken from where he was in Luz’s room and sleepily poked his head out, half-awake.
“Keep an eye on Luz,” Eda instructed him as she walked by. “Don’t let her touch anything.”
“Oh, someones in trouble,” King sang before scampering out of Luz’s room.
“You bet she is,” Eda hissed, stopping in front of the makeshift storage room they had made into Lilith’s room.
She didn’t even bother to knock, she just threw the door open.
Lilith was already waking up from the noise, her hair a mess and rubbing at her eyes. She looked up, saw Eda furiously standing in the doorway, and let out a sigh.
She calmly picked up her glasses from an old table she’d made (Eda had insisted she get her glasses back since she had no reason not to use them anymore), put them on, and slowly stood up, mentally preparing herself.
“What happened this time?” She asked calmly.
“Luz! Luz is what happened!” Eda shouted. “If I didn’t know any better, I would’ve thought she’d snuck into the Night Market!”
“And by that you mean…?” Lilith asked slowly.
“She looks drugged, Lilith.” Eda hissed. “How long is this going to last, exactly?”
“I don’t know, I’m not a healer.” Lilith shrugged, clearly trying to hide an amused smile. “Let me see her, I’m sure it’s not that bad.”
“Don’t eat the glyphs, Luz!” King’s yelling from downstairs reached their ears. “Don’t--Luz that’s fire!”
Eda’s sneer grew and Lilith pointedly refused to meet her gaze.
Without a word, the sisters hurried down the stairs and into the living room, both mentally preparing to have to put something out.
Luz was in the process of eating a ripped up glyph, both pupils blown wide, blitzed out of her mind. King was stuck under one of her arms, holding the other end of the glyph he had probably been forced to rip to stop her from activating it.
“Eda, what happened to her?” King demanded, squirming in the human's grasp. “She thinks the glyphs are pancakes!”
Lilith snorted, stifling a laugh at the sight. Eda gave her sister a glare that would melt Emperor Belos himself, and her smile quickly fell.
“You’re right, you’re right, not funny.” She said matter-of-factly. “Did she wake up like this?” “I assume so,” Eda said, walking over to the girl and picking her up from under her arms. “She fell down the stairs and said she could feel colors.”
“These have a lot of colors,” Luz giggled, pulling the ripped glyph out of her mouth and waving her around.
“...alright,” Lilith said slowly, placing her hands together. “Clearly, the vaccines had more of a side effect on her than we thought.”
“Ya think?” Eda hissed, holding Luz upright as she looked around at everything, her eyes nearly entirely taken up by her pupil.
“On the plus side, I doubt this will be permanent.” Lilith continued. “Most of the vaccines given to her were ones that wear off over time.”
“How long, exactly?” Eda asked.
Lilith pressed her mouth together in a thin line, weighing her options.
“...about ten years?” She said, raising her hand and tilting it. “Sometimes five?”
“Lilith!”
“It’s probably just her body reacting to the small bits of illness and magic,” Lilith said quickly, mildly nervous. “It’ll get out of her system eventually, I’m sure.”
“And how long,” Eda grit her teeth together, grabbing Luz’s hood as she tried to wander off. “Do you think this’ll last?”
Lilith frowned, thinking for a moment.
“A week at worst,” She decided. “If nothing changes by then...we may have to ask in a favor or two.”
“You are so lucky Amity likes you,” Eda growled, pointing a finger at her sister. “Or I’d do worse than send you to Hooty.”
“I didn’t know this would happen!” Lilith defended. “I genuinely thought it would be okay! You think I want her like this?” She said, gesturing to the girl with her hand.
Eda knew very well she didn’t. Lilith could be uncaring and annoyed with practically everyone around her, but she knew better. And, well, even she had admitted that using a child as a shield that one time was a bad move.
And, besides, her apprentice, as far as she knew at least, was friends with Luz. So that automatically put her higher up on Lilith’s list than others.
Didn’t change that Luz was even crazier than normal now, though.
“You insisted on this, you fix it.” Eda finally decided, pulling Luz closer. “This is borderline disturbing, even for her.” She said, looking down at Luz’s glazed, but still happy, expression.
“I’ll do what I can,” Lilith promised. “In the meantime, let’s hope being a little delirious is the worst of our troubles.”
“Don’t jinx us, Lilith.”
,
“So, we’re basically on Luz-watch now?” Willow asked, eyeing Luz as she downed her fifth water bottle in an hour like a shot.
“We’re all on Luz watch,” Eda corrected. “Lilith is off trying to find something useful while we gotta sit here and hope she doesn’t do anything stupid.”
“Like being thirsty is a crime,” Luz huffed, her right eye half-lidded with a contracted pupil.
“Fascinating,” Gus murmured, poking Luz’s cheek. “I never would’ve imagined something as simple as a few vaccines would cause such a severe reaction in humans.”
“Who knows? Maybe it’s just a Luz thing,” Willow suggested, holding her friend up as she started to heavily lean to the side.
The trio were all sitting on the floor in front of the couch in a semicircle. If you didn’t know any better, you’d think they were expecting Luz to start coughing up blood.
“There are lights everywhere,” Luz grinned, gazing with drooping eyes around the room. “They kinda hurt.” She said, her smile never falling as she squinted her eyes.
“You better not get worse,” Eda warned, crossing over to the kitchen. “You kids hungry? It’s still morning.”
“I had a snack on the way here,” Willow assured the witch.
“Has Luz eaten?” Gus wondered.
Luz stared at him blankly for a moment before Willow nudged her.
“Mm, not hungry,” Luz mumbled, her left pupil dilating for a moment before contracting to the same size as her other one.
“Are you sure you feel alright?” Willow inquired, frowning.
“Yes and no?” Luz squinted. “I’m like...feeling so great it’s uncomfortable. Does that make sense?” She asked, turning her head to her friend before almost falling over again.
“At least she can talk a bit better now,” Eda muttered, poking her head back into the room.
“Luz is going to get better, right?” Gus worried, peering over Luz.
Eda opened her mouth, shut it, thought about her words for a few moments, and inhaled deeply.
“Yeah, eventually.” She said, praying to the Titan she wasn’t lying. “We just don’t know when.”
“So does this mean I can study her?” Gus asked excitedly, eyes shining.
“I don’t know if that’s a good idea,” Willow said carefully, relenting to just always keeping an arm around Luz as she stared off into blissful space. “I doubt she’ll stay still.”
“I want to see what kind of symptoms she has,” Gus defended. “This is the only time I’ll ever get to know what some of our medicine does to humans!”
Eda flinched at the unintended reminder of Luz’s current situation. She was almost glad Luz could barely process any of the words being spoken around her, she was sure the human would’ve noticed as well.
“Just be careful with her, you hear?” Eda relented. “I’m not about to take her to a healer and risk this information making it to the Emperor’s Coven. A little studying will probably help us.”
“Yes!” Gus pumped a fist in the air and conjured himself a pencil and paper. “If anything, think of this as a recording of what’s going on. I doubt Luz will be able to remember all of this in clear detail.” He said, tapping his pencil on her head.
Luz jolted, looking towards Gus dumbly at the sudden touch.
“Hm, pencil isn’t very colorful.” She hummed.
“Where’s rich girl, anyway?” Eda asked, leaning in the kitchen door frame. “I thought she would’ve rushed over here.”
“She doesn’t even know this is happening.” Willow said. “You just called me and Gus, told us to hurry over, and then hung up.” She deadpanned. “We didn’t know the situation until we got here.”
“Eh, fair.” Eda nodded. “Poor girl would probably have a heart attack at the sight of her,” She gestured a hand to her apprentice.
“Amity would definitely have some choice words,” Gus agreed.
“Amity?” Luz suddenly perked her head up, looking around wildly like a puppy who’d been told they were getting a treat. “Amity’s here?”
Willow and Eda shared a knowing glance before turning back to the human.
“No, Luz, Amity isn’t here.” Willow said calmly.
Luz visibly drooped, disappointed. At least they knew she could still feel other emotions.
“Do you want me to call her?” Willow asked the girl.
Luz rose up again, excited. Gus was reminded of an emotional yo-yo.
“Great, more children,” Eda muttered. “You two are handling her inevitable panic.”
“Fair,” Willow nodded, pulling out her scroll. “Gus, take Luz for a minute.”
“Huh?” Gus looked up from taking notes just in time to get crushed by Luz falling over him.
Willow dialed Amity, ignoring the strangled cries of distress from Gus. She picked up on the third ring.
“Hey, Wills,” Amity crackled through the scroll.
“Amity!” Luz trilled happily, sitting up from where she was crushing Gus.
“Is that Luz?” Amity inquired.
“Yeah, we’re at the Owl House.” Willow explained, holding Luz back from tumbling over her by holding a hand against her face.
“I can breathe!” Gus gasped. “Hi, Amity!” Luz giggled.
“Hey, Luz,” Amity mumbled.
You could see Willow’s will to live leave her body. Eda gave up and went back into the kitchen to grab herself a snack.
“Luz is in a bit of a situation at the moment,” Willow said calmly. “Turns out our vaccines don’t clash well with her.”
“What? Is she okay?” Amity worried, and the sound of shuffling was heard from the other line.
“Yeah, just really blitzed out.” Willow assured. “She says she can feel colors and is excited to an uncomfortable extent.”
“Willow has a lot of calm colors,” Luz grinned, giving up trying to squish Willow and instead dropping her head onto her leg. “I like ‘em.”
“That...sounds concerning.” Amity said slowly. “I’m coming over.”
“We’ll be waiting,” Willow said, before hanging up.
“Yay! Amity’s coming!” Luz cheered, trying to raise herself to a sitting position and wincing. “Ow, too loud.”
“Too loud?” Gus repeated, trying to write something down. “What is?”
“Spoke too loud,” Luz whined, shutting her eyes.
“You...usually speak that loud when you're excited.” Willow raised a brow. “Are your ears alright?”
“Just round,” Luz snickered at her ‘joke,’ cracking open an eye. “Everything about me is round! Round ears, round fang teeth, round face,” She said, proceeding to squish one of her cheeks in her hand.
“Your round ‘cause your squishy,” Willow agreed, helping Luz sit up properly.
“Very squishy,” Luz agreed. “I am the squishiest.” She said seriously. “Is your vision normal?” Gus asked, cautiously leaning closer to his friend. “No more spots?”
“Mm, less so.” Luz said, staring off at nothing. “And I think the couch is alive,” She said calmly.
The friends looked at the couch, and upon seeing it wasn’t moving, turned back to Luz.
“There’s...nothing happening.” Willow said slowly. “I mean, it could be alive, but nothings happening right now.”
“Are you sure?” Luz frowned, squinting intensely at the couch. “I swear the cover is like...rippling.”
Gus looked to the couch, back to Luz, back to the couch, and then back to Luz again.
“So she’s getting hallucinations,” He said, writing it down. “Good to know.”
“She what?” Eda called back, confused.
King poked his head through the kitchen door, his tail flicking.
“Eda wants to know what you said,”
“We heard her.” Willow sighed.
“Hallucinations. Luz thinks the couch is moving,” Gus said, not even sparing a glance up from her notebook.
“Oh, did it wake up?” King asked sincerely. “Eda! I think the couch woke up again!”
“The couch is alive?” Willow squeaked, pulling Luz closer and scooching away from it.
“Ha! Knew it,” Luz weakly waved a fist. “I knew it had to be alive.”
Eda reappeared soon after, double-checking that the couch hadn’t woken up. Gus was about to tell her the same information he told King, but the sounds of Hooty shrieking at someone caught everyone's attention.
They couldn’t make out his words, but it was hard to miss his high-pitched voice. Eda walked to the front door and cracked it opening, fully expecting to see Lilith or some random kid trying to find the Owl House again.
Instead, she saw Amity, hissing with fangs bared and looked ready to punch Hooty in the face. Which was understandable, considering he was continuously bugging her.
“Someone was anxious to get here,” Eda chuckled, swinging open the door and crushing a small piece of Hooty’s body between the door and the wall.
Hooty squawked and started harping on Eda, complaining and turning his attention away from Amity.
“Oh, hey, Eda.” Amity said, calming down and smoothing her hair back.
Eda could visibly tell Amity was trying to not breathe in too deeply, sure-fire evidence at how fast she had rushed to the Owl House.
“In here,” Eda said, letting Amity inside before shutting the door on Hooty’s complaints.
“Hey, Amity.” Willow greeted numbly.
Luz, who had previously been laying against Willow’s shoulder, popped up at a speed that made Gus concerned that her neck might’ve cracked.
“Hi, Ami!” Luz said cheerfully, her pupils immediately dilating so wide that you could barely see the whites of her eyes.
Amity paused, looking like she was about to be flattered before seeing the state Luz was in. She knit her brow together, clearly even more anxious as she hurried in, getting on her knees beside her friends.
“How long has she been like this?” She asked, hesitantly reaching out a hand before pulling back.
“Since this morning,” Gus said. “Eda said she’ll be fine.”
“That’s a relief,” Amity exhaled.
Eda mumbled something and slipped out of the living room. King was about to follow her before she spoke something quietly to him and left.
Instead, the demon pouted and sat at the door leading to the staircase hallway, his arms crossed.
“Oooh, you’re really colorful,” Luz said, grabbing Amity’s outstretched hand and pulling it closer.
“I--huh?” Amity stuttered, blushing.
“It’s so pretty,” Luz whispered, sounding not all there as she pressed Amity’s hand to her cheek.
“Don’t pass out on us,” Willow teased the furiously red witch. “I’d hate for you to die at fifteen.”
“Don’t test me,” Amity growled.
“Can you feel these ‘colors’ with other people?” Gus questioned the human.
It took a few seconds for Luz to react but she eventually looked back up at Gus.
“Mmm, yeah,” She mumbled. “Eda’s are weird,” She enunciated, swaying slightly.
Willow slowly held a hand on her shoulder to stop her from toppling. If Luz noticed, she didn’t comment.
“So, she’s really high right now, is what I’m getting at.” Amity said, looking over Luz, who still refused to release her hand.
“Pretty much,” Willow nodded. “At least the vaccines gave her a happy-high. I don’t know if we could handle a panicky or angry Luz.”
“Where’s,” Luz slurred for a moment, her right pupil contracting. “Where’s my, my,” She struggled for a moment, clearly forgetting what she was trying to say.
“You alright there?” Gus asked, trying not to laugh.
“¿Cuál es la palabra para eso?” Luz muttered under her breath. “Capucha...gato...gato capucha…”
“Is she speaking backwards or something?” Amity asked, alarmed.
“Oh, oh! Luz explained this to me once,” Gus said, perking up. “She said it was a human language...Spanish I think.”
“Hoodie!” Luz finally burst out before wincing and ducking her head, finally releasing Amity’s hand.
“Your hoodie?” Willow blinked. “Luz, you grew out of that four months ago.”
“Did someone say Hooty?”
Everyone groaned as the bird tube himself popped in through the window, happily chattering in his high voice.
“Did you guys miss me?” He yapped on.
Luz suddenly yelped and clapped her hands over her ears, doubling over into a ball. Her friends whirled back to her, startled.
“Is she still all weird?” Hooty continued, circling around them until his head was right by Luz. “Hi, Luz! Are you still being weird?”
Luz whimpered and curled into an even tighter ball, turning her head away from Hooty and squeezing her eyes shut.
“Quit it!” Amity snapped, shoving the birds face away. “You're scaring her!”
“Scaring?” Hooty repeated, though he did move back. “But I didn’t even do anything mentally scarring this time!”
King, who had fallen asleep at the door, was easily awoken by Hooty’s screeching. He noticed Amity pulling a balled-up Luz further away from Hooty, murderous intent in her gaze, and was quick to rush over.
“I’m awake! I’m awake! What happened?” He asked, skidding to a stop.
“I don’t know, but Hooty’s freaking out Luz.” Willow said, reaching out a hesitant hand to the girl.
“Hey! You! Shoo!” King snapped to the bird, waving his paws at him. “Don’t make me get Eda!”
“Alright, alright! Sheesh!” Hooty grumbled, slowly pulling himself back out the window. “I didn’t mean to do anything, gosh.” He muttered, frowning as he disappeared back to the front of the house.
“Luz?” Amity worried, looking down at the shaking girl halfway in her lap. “Luz? He’s gone now, it’s okay.”
Luz cracked open an eye, revealing it had contracted to a disturbingly small size. She slowly removed her hands from her ears and sat up, almost knocking her head into Amity’s chin.
“Are you alright?” Willow worried, placing a hand on her friend's shoulder.
“Loud,” Luz whined, rubbing at her ear.
“Should I call Eda?” King worried, coming up in front of Luz. “I should call Eda. Hey, Eda!” He shouted, turning his head away. “Eda!”
Luz hissed and jerked back, shutting her eyes and covering her ears again.
King jumped back and covered his mouth with his paws. Willow was quick to wrap her arm around Luz’s shoulders.
“I’m so sorry!” King exclaimed, immediately covering his mouth again when Luz’s flinch revealed he’d been too loud again. “Sorry, sorry,” He whispered, taking another step back.
“Luz?” Willow worried.
“Loud,” The human repeated, burying her head in Willow’s shoulder. “It’s loud.”
The other three all looked to each other with concern.
“But...Hooty and King always talk like that.” Amity said slowly. “It...it’s never bothered her before.”
“She must have gotten more sensitive to sound,” Gus said, his voice lowered. “Us talking normally must already be quite loud. And considering King and Hooty are naturally louder when they talk, she must think they’re screaming if they go so much as a few notes up.”
King sat on the floor, his paws still wrapped around his muzzle, his face full of horror and shame.
Rapid footsteps were heard coming down the stairs, and Eda was in the living room in a flash, holding her staff in one hand.
“What happened? Is everyone okay?” She asked, hurrying over.
“Luz is sensitive to sound,” Willow explained softly. “Hooty and King hurt her ears without meaning to, that’s all.”
“Great, another symptom.” Eda muttered, her staff vanishing in a flash of light. “How sensitive?”
“Anything higher than normal talking is painful,” Gus said, quickly writing it all down. “To her, it must sound like we’re already talking loud, but she’s putting up with it.”
Eda sighed and ran a hand down her face. Luz had recovered from King’s shout and peeled herself off of Willow, hands hovering by her ears in fear there would be another loud noise.
“I’m gonna go get Lilith,” She decided, watching Luz pitifully. “I need to know what else is going to happen to her.”
“What?” Luz blinked, looking around. “Why was everyone shouting?”
“Sorry,” King repeated again, shaking his head.
“You didn’t know,” Eda leaned down and ruffled the fur behind his head. “Luz, maybe you should go rest.”
“I’m not tired,” Luz said, becoming cheerful again. “Not at all! Hey, do you think I could climb the Knee and back?” She asked, turning to Willow. “I think I could do that.”
“Don’t,” Willow said, standing up and helping her friend off the floor. “We’ll stay with her.” She assured the older witch.
“I’d say don’t do anything stupid, but we all know that’s going to happen no matter what.” Eda said, crossing her arms. “Just don’t do something overly stupid.”
“Understood,” Amity nodded, scooping up King as she and Gus stood.
Luz paused before whirling her head around, nearly falling over at the force if Willow didn’t catch her in time.
“Ami?” Luz blinked blearily. “When did you get here?”
“This is going to be a long day,” Eda sighed, shoulders slumping with the weight of a sky.
“We’ll try to get through unscathed,” Gus said, glancing at Luz as she started staring at and inspecting her own hands, confused.
“Key word; try.”
,
“I think I swallowed another light spell,” Luz groaned, face-down on her sleeping bag.
“You didn’t. We would’ve seen it.” Willow said, glancing back at the girl.
“I must’ve,” Luz muffled through the bag. “I feel like it.”
“Huh, so she’s hallucinating sensations, too.” Gus said, sitting cross-legged by the window and writing in another page of his notebook.
“Or she could just feel awful,” Amity pointed out, leaning against the wall behind Luz. “I certainly would, considering the state she’s already in.”
“Please don’t throw up like last time,” King begged, his voice barely above a whisper as he placed his paws on Luz’s arm. “That was disgusting.”
“Water,” Luz mumbled, raising a hand and grabbing at air. “Need water.”
Amity picked up the water bottle on the floor beside her and crawled over, placing it in Luz’s open hand.
“Humans can’t die from drinking too much water, right?” Gus asked, looking up from his notebook.
Luz looked up and tilted the water bottle, never raising her head off of the floor. She opened her mouth and let the water trickle out and into her mouth.
Her friends all watched her, mesmerized at the sight. Luz’s grip on the water bottle loosened after a few minutes and it fell and hit her in the face, causing her to hiss and water to spill.
Amity muttered before pulling Luz into a sitting position by her shoulders. The girl was still staring off blankly, like this outcome was completely out of the blue.
King came back with old clothes Eda never used and Willow mopped up the water with them, barely batting an eye.
“Aw,” Luz finally reacted, mournfully watching her forgotten water bottle which was now only a quarter-full. “My juice…”
“Luz, you're getting soaked.” Amity sighed, grabbing one of the unused shirts and dabbing at Luz’s shirt and face.
“Like it, it’s cold,” Luz said, though she did nothing to stop Amity.
“Cold? Are you feeling too warm?” Willow asked, glancing up.
“Uh,” Luz stared off for a moment. “Yope.”
“Yope?” Gus echoed.
“Nes? Yo? Noes? Sio? Ni?” Luz tried out a bunch of different words, often slurring them together.
“Luz, what are you saying?” Amity sighed, trying to get the worst of the water off her shirt now.
“What’s yes and no combined?” Luz questioned Gus. “You’re smart, you know.”
“Maybe?” Gus tried, raising a brow.
“Maybe?” Luz frowned. “How can you be ‘maybe’ smart?”
“You’re maybe too warm?” Willow reiterated.
“I’m like…” Luz spaced out for a moment before snapping back to reality, both her pupils at different levels of dilated. “Hot and cold?”
“That’s mildly troubling,” Gus spoke, flipping to a new page in his notebook.
“I feel like I have a weird fever,” Luz sniffled, blinking her eyes rapidly. “You know? You know like...like when you're so sick you're too extreme in both temperatures.”
“I think I had that once!” King raised his paw excitedly before quickly lowering back down when he saw Luz flinch at his voice. “I had frostbite on my fur after I ate a fire-twig. I couldn’t stop moving for like, three hours.”
“Mood,” Luz nodded solemnly.
“I’m...pretty sure that’s not an emotion…” King said slowly.
“So, do you want like, extra blankets?” Amity suggested.
“I want to die,” Luz whined, almost flopping over onto her face again before Amity grabbed the back of her shirt and held her up. “And everything smells like those weird street corners.”
“Smells fine to me,” WIllow said, laying the wet clothes on the ledge in front of the window. “Do you want to change into a non-wet shirt?”
“Oh,” Luz nodded after a few beats. “Yeah,” She said, grabbing the hem of her shirt and pulling up.
Amity, who had previously been tossing the damp cloth away, turned back around just in the nick of time.
“Not right now!” She squeaked, frantically grabbing Luz’s hands and forcing her to shove her shirt back down.
The other three whirled back to the girls, startled by the sudden noise.
“Ow,” Luz complained, removing her hands and rubbing at her ears. “Loud,”
“Sorry, sorry,” Amity whispered, jerking her hands back.
Her ears were pressed down, and she was a bright red from the tip of each ear.
Willow rolled her eyes but made no comment as she stood up and offered a hand to Luz. The human stared at it for a moment before Willow took the humans hand herself and helped her up.
“I’ll ask Eda if she has anything that’s not covered in dust,” Willow asked her, gazing around at Luz’s room. “Somehow, I doubt she keeps her clothes on the racks in here.”
“I,” Amity shook her head to clear it. “I think she has a chest in the room down the hallway.”
“I’ll check it out,” Willow nodded, keeping a hand on Luz’s shoulder and guiding her out of her room.
Thus leaving Amity, Gus and King to their own devices.
They all looked at each other.
“You wanna cut holes in Eda’s raggety clothes and stitch them together?” King asked casually. “Yeah I do!” Gus grinned, throwing his notebook and pencil aside.
“I’m picking the fabric,” Amity said matter-of-factly. “You guys will just make an unholy abomination.”
“Says the girl in the abomination track,”
,
“Maybe...if we split my head open...the pain will stop.”
“I’m not cracking your skull like an egg for a headache, Luz.”
“Do you think zombies would like that?” Luz asked, raising a hand in the air. “Would it be like scrambled eggs?” “That’s disgusting, Luz.”
“Not to the zombies,”
Luz was laying across the couch, her head hanging off the armrest, holding a warm washcloth against her forehead. Willow was sitting on the other end, with Gus perched on the armrest beside her. Amity was sitting on the floor in front of Luz with King in her lap, making sure she didn’t slide off the couch.
“Some guy did it once,” Luz continued, her eyes covered by the washcloth as she wildly waved her other hand around in the air. “Some god or something. Head split. Woman popped out. It was a whole thing.”
“Wait, really?” Gus gasped, eyes shining excitedly.
“Gus, she’s high.” Willow deadpanned. “I don’t think we can trust most things she’s saying right now.”
“It was a thing!” Luz insisted, trying to sit up and failing. “Learned ‘bout it...Big Z got a nerdy war daughter. Like…” She paused for a moment. “Like Amity, but a goddess.”
Amity made a few strangled choking sounds, and King glared up at her. Though he didn’t try to move out of her lap.
“I’m writing it down anyway,” Gus said, scribbling furiously.
“How’s the headache?” Willow asked.
“Killing me slowly,” Luz said, rolling her head to the side on the armrest so she was nearly falling off the couch.
She moved the washcloth further up, revealing her pupils going off the fritz for a few moments before appearing to pulsate in size.
“I wanna run laps and then curl up on the floor,” Luz said, eyes glazing over in that way you knew she was focusing on nothing at all. “I wanna slam into something.”
“Wh...why?” Gus said slowly.
“No idea,” Luz shrugged, her voice sounding far too cheerful. “Maybe if I run into a wall I’ll start feeling normal. I should try that.” She said, beginning to sit up.
“Absolutely not,” Amity snapped, her voice a bit strained as she sat up and sharply pushed Luz back onto the couch. “You’re not getting any more brain damage today.”
“Eda told me she already fell down the last few steps on the stairs,” King piped up.
“Few?” Luz repeated, blinking. “I fell down all ‘em.”
There was a few seconds of silence where everyone soaked in her words.
“You fell down the entire flight of stairs?” Willow repeated. “Yeah?” Luz looked between her friends, perplexed. “What?”
“Didn’t that hurt?” Amity winced at the thought. “You’re lucky you didn’t break anything!”
“I didn’t feel a thing,” Luz shrugged, completely uncaring. “Felt like falling in a ball pit.”
“You fell down wooden stairs, and you felt nothing?” Willow gaped.
“Nope,” Luz smiled.
Her friends stared at her for a few moments, all in different states of concern.
“Oh, her pain tolerance shot up, too.” Gus spoke, breaking the silence. “Her ears and head must either be incredibly painful or they don’t work the same way.”
“I’ve never felt more terrified for Luz in my life,” Willow near-wheezed. “She could have a cracked bone right now and we wouldn’t even know.”
“I’ll be fine,” Luz waved a hand. “Mamás a doctor, I know things...many things.”
“I know Eda is a lot of things, but I doubt she’s a doctor, whatever that is.” Gus said, confused as he looked up.
Everyone froze. Gus realized who Luz was talking about a moment too late.
Luz squinted and stared down at the couch, washcloth slowly sliding off her head. Her left pupil expanded before slowly shrinking. She looked like she was trying to reboot her brain, and swayed slightly.
“Hey, Luz!” Amity quickly sat up, giving her friend a nervous smile. “You wanna dress up King in that weird patchwork shirt we made?”
“Uh, yes,” Luz went right back to smiling.
A silent sigh of relief swept through the room.
“How could you?” King cried, lowering his voice a second into his outburst. “Haven’t you tortured me enough?”
“It was a cupcake, King.” Amity said, standing and scooping up King in her arms.
“And you crushed it mercilessly!”
Willow glanced back at Gus, who’s ears were flicked back. He was staring at his notebook, looking like a toddler who’d been caught trying to steal food from the counter.
“Sorry,” He whispered when he caught Willow’s look. “I wasn’t paying attention…”
“It’s alright,” Willow sighed, watching as King squirmed in Amity’s hold and Luz tried to sit up. “We’re all trying to get used to it.”
“King, c’mere,” Luz cooed, putting her hands on the armrest and trying to pull herself up.
Before promptly losing her grip and falling face-first off the couch.
“Are you okay?” Amity worried.
“Feeling nothin’,” Luz said, giving a thumbs up as she raised her head. “Never better.”
Amity cringed back at the sight, and King made an ‘ew’ noise, curling closer in the witches arms.
“She gave herself a black eye, didn’t she?” Willow sighed.
“Yeah…”
“Titan save us, she’s not gonna last a week.”
,
“Oh don’t cha dare look back, just keep ya eyes on me, I said ya holding back, she said shut up and dance with me,”
The quintet were all sitting around the kitchen table. It was well past noon, too late for lunch but too early for dinner. But King had gotten hungry and so everyone had eaten at what Luz had called ‘dinunch’ or ‘lunner.’
Well, everyone aside from Luz. She vehemently refused to eat anything. So she’d resorted to laying upside down on her chair, her head on the floor, and singing some human song nobody at the table knew.
“This woman is my destiny, she said oooooh, shut up and dance with me!”
“I’m going to lose it,” Gus whispered, staring at the table with the gaze of centuries of pain.
“Ha! Luz it,” Luz giggled. “McLuz it. Puns,”
“Shouldn’t Eda be back with Lilith by now?” Willow asked the demon sitting on the table by Luz’s chair.
“Eh, she may have just started studying at the library with her.” King shrugged. “Or they’re busting themselves out of prison, either is plausible.”
“We were victims of the night,” Luz continued humming. “The chemical, physical, kryptonite.”
“At least she’s not whining about headaches,” Amity shrugged.
“Helpless to the bass and the fading light, oh we were bound to get together, bound to get together,” Luz tilted her head while on the floor, eyes closed.
“For your sake, I hope you don’t remember today all that well,” Willow said, rubbing her temples. “Luz, are you keeping that ice on your eye?”
“She took my arm!” Luz trilled, though it was no louder than regular talking. “Don’t know how it happened, we hit the floor and she saaaaaaid,”
“Luz,” Willow repeated.
“Oh don’t cha dare look back, just keep ya eyes on me, I said you’re holdin’ back, she said--”
“Luz,” Amity said, peering under the table.
Luz paused, blinking open her eyes and holding them on Amity. One of her hands was splayed out by her head, loosely holding a wet towel with no ice in it.
“What happened to the ice?” Amity sighed.
“Huh?” Luz blinked, her pupils fritzing out for a moment. “Oh, I ate ‘em.”
“You ate four cubes of ice?” Willow cried, standing up suddenly. “Why? Why in the world…?”
“Wanted to see what it’d taste like.” Luz said earnestly. “Tasted bad,”
“Then why’d you eat all four?” Gus raised a brow, also peering under the table.
Luz looked at him blankly.
“Shut up and dance with me!” She went right on singing. “This woman is my destiny, she said oooooh,”
Everyone at the table couldn’t look more tired. Willow sighed and got up to get more ice for Luz’s black eye, which had swollen to the point where it could only open halfway.
“Okay, you’re making me nervous from that position, please sit up,” Amity said, getting up from her chair and standing by Luz, who was still singing on.
“A backless dress and some beat up sneaks,” Luz sang. “My discotheque, Juliet, teenage dream! I felt in in my chest as she looked at me,”
Amity gave Gus and King a look of utter pain and confusion before crouching down by the human, snapping her fingers to get her attention.
Luz jolted to attention and rolled her head to the side, looking up at Amity.
Her pupils dilated wide before one flickered slightly smaller.
“Can you get up?” Amity asked her.
Luz opened her mouth to reply before slowly shutting it again. She did this a few more times before turning her head to the side and avoiding the witches gaze.
Amity sighed and resigned to helping her up herself. She picked up Luz’s feet and took them off of the back of the chair, setting them to the side at a very awkward angle, considering Luz refused to move.
“Lost my place,” Luz mumbled.
For a second Amity thought she was complaining about her current position being shifted, but as her friend started singing again, she knew she couldn’t care less.
“She took my arm, I don’t know how it happened,” She hummed. “We took the floor and she saaaaaaid,”
Amity leaned down and took Luz’s hands, pulling her up. She was now facing off the side of the chair, finally sitting in a normal position.
Luz looked up to her, blinking innocently. One pupil contracted and she broke into a goofy grin.
“Take me home tonight,” She sang on, keeping a hold on Amity’s hands and trying to pull herself to a standing position. “I don’t want to let you go till we see the light.”
Amity stepped back, unconsciously helping to keep Luz standing, watching her in confusion. She glanced at the others, but Gus wasn’t paying much attention, just glad Luz wasn’t singing the same lines over and over again. King barely spared them a glance, much more interested in notes Gus was looking over.
“Take me home tonight,” Luz grinned, pulling Amity’s hands back till she was nearly nose-to-nose with the girl.
It likely would’ve been a lot more romantic if Luz’s eye wasn’t swollen and black. Plus her pupils that were still fluctuating.
“Listen honey,” Luz chanted. “Just like Ronnie said,”
Amity slowly drew her head back, beginning to flush brightly. Luz giggled and gave her a lopsided smile.
“Luz...Luz what are you--”
“Be my little baaaaaaaby,” She snickered, placing her head on Amity’s shoulder and continuing to give short laughs.
“Luz?” Amity stuttered, trying to get her hands out of Luz’s grip. “Listen, you--” She swallowed. “You need to sit back down…”
“Is everything okay?” Willow asked, appearing with more cubes of ice wrapped up in a washcloth.
“Oh don’t you dare look back!” Luz suddenly shot back, snatching Amity’s arms and tugging her along. “Just keep your eyes on me!”
She misjudged the distance between her and the table, smacking her back into and crumbling to the floor, not as steady on her feet as everyone thought.
The back of her head hit the table as she fell. She didn’t make any noise of pain, simply toppled over and landed on the floor before roughly sitting back and knocking against the table leg, looking dazed.
“Luz!” Amity cried.
Gus and King jerked up as Willow rushed over, crouching by Luz along with Amity.
Luz still looked almost to be in a state of shock, but it was hard to tell from how her head turned and pupils contracted. Willow reached out and turned her head to inspect the damage.
“Yeah, it’s bleeding.” Willow winced.
“How much?” Gus asked, peering over the table.
“Uh,” Willow pulled her hand back, revealing Luz’s blood coating it.
Amity sucked in a breath and her eyes went wide. She quickly turned Luz’s head to see for herself as Gus and King hurried around to them.
She couldn’t tell where the cut was under Luz’s hair that she was beginning to grow out, but it was bleeding rapidly. A large patch of her hair was dark red with blood gushing out.
“Call Eda, call Eda!” Gus exclaimed as King rushed to Luz, worrying over her.
“Call the healers!” King insisted over the witch.
Luz winced and covered her ears, whimpering at their frantic shouting. Willow quickly pulled out her scroll and began dialing Eda, clearly just as freaked out as the others.
Amity was in a state of shock. She was sitting on her knees at Luz’s side, just staring at the blood beginning to trickle down Luz’s hair and onto her neck. Her pupils were slitted into thin lines, and her breathing had become heavy.
Luz opened her eyes, but kept her hands over her ears because of the shouting. She gave her friends a hurt look before noticing the stilled fear on Amity’s face.
She frowned and nudged Amity’s leg with her foot. When the witch didn’t respond, she turned to King, who was sitting closest to her, and nudged his back with the same foot.
King turned, and everyone's shouting paused.
“Guys?” Luz said, one eye dilating as the back of her shirt grew soaked with blood. “I think something’s wrong with Amity...”
,
Lilith sat on the couch, looking over as many medical papers she could. She finally wore her glasses, and she had notes lay strewn about on the coffee table. She was exhausted, and words were beginning to blur together.
It was almost one in the morning, but she couldn’t stop yet.
After a study session and quick escape from Kikimora yesterday, Eda had been called and informed by panicked teenagers that Luz had hit her head on the table and was heavily bleeding on the floor. Lilith didn’t think Eda could get that scared in such a short amount of time, but you learn something new every day.
Thankfully, Luz had turned out fine. Her head injury wasn’t all that serious, it just turns out humans bleed more from head wounds than witches.
But considering that in just a few hours Luz had managed to get said head injury, a black eye, and traumatize her friends, Eda was quick to shoo them away.
Lilith hated the pained expression plastered to Amity’s face.
She couldn’t be mad at Eda, not really. Her little sister was scared for Luz, and who wouldn’t be? Having to deal with three more kids was far from her to-do list.
Luz had been patched up by very concerned healers, leaving Lilith to insist that, no, they had not drugged a child, she was just having a bad reaction to vaccines.
Her friends had come back the second day, but Luz was on constant surveillance watch by them and Eda alike. Not much had changed from the first day, though Luz had somehow managed to get her head stuck in a cardboard cylinder.
She was glad when they left before dinner. The constant terror flashing in Amity’s eyes worried her beyond belief.
Technically speaking, Lilith supposed, it was the third day now. But she was too busy focusing on finding anything useful to dwell on it.
She heard creaking steps and didn’t bother to glance up. It was probably Edalyn. She was awake at all hours and was probably off to grab a snack.
She heard heavy footsteps and eventually something flopping down at the edge of the coffee table.
A moment later, a head was placed on it.
Lilith looked up then.
Luz was sitting on her knees at the end of the table, her chin resting on the end with her arms loosely dragging in the floor. She had bandages around her black eye and head, and, according to her, making her look like ‘a pirate.’”
“Luz?” Lilith blinked, setting down her pen. “What are you doing up?”
“Not tired,” Luz said, her eyes turning to the witch.
Her right pupil expanded, nearly taking up all the color in her eye.
“Well, you should try to sleep,” Lilith said simply. “I have tea to help calm you down, if you want.”
“Nah,” Luz said, looking back to the papers. “Whatcha doing?”
Lilith, already tired and not thinking completely straight, decided it wouldn’t be such a bad idea to humor the human.
“Studying,” She said simply. “To help you.”
“You are?” Luz perked up, raising her head off the table.
“Um, yes?” Lilith raised a brow. “I have been for a while now. Did you not know?” “Nobody told me!” Luz shook her head, placing her hands on the table and holding herself up. “You found a lot on the human...human thingies,” She commented, gazing at the papers.
Lilith suddenly understood, and she felt a twinge in her chest. She decided not to think about it for too long.
“Oh, no, no, I’m not studying for that.” She explained. “I’m studying how to make you feel better, not the human realm.”
Luz’s smile instantly fell. She slumped onto her elbows and glomily lay her cheek on the table.
“Oh,” She said sadly, letting out a sigh. “Okay,”
Lilith frowned, her chest suddenly feeling just a bit hollower. She thought she must’ve been feeling the weight of her exhaustion, but she was quick to realize the real issue.
Lilith sighed dramatically and ran a hand through her hair.
Great Titan, she’d begun to truly care, hadn’t she?
She bit her lip and glanced back at Luz, who was still sorrowfully staring at her papers, her pupil now contracted to half the size of a dime.
“But,” She said cautiously, catching Luz’s attention. “I suppose I could help you with that...once you feel better, of course.”
“You will?” Luz shot up again like a rocket. “Thank you!” She smiled.
Lilith gave a small smile and chuckled.
“You’re going to regret all that happened these last few days when you gain control of yourself again,” She said, going back to flipping through the pages of a medical book she found. “I know I would.”
“Why?” Luz asked, tiling her head curiously.
“Wh--Luz, even you must realize you’d never be like this in your normal state.” Lilith said matter-of-factly. “You hate me, remember?”
Luz stared at her blankly for a moment. She crossed her arms on the table and rested on them, giving her an innocent look.
“No I don’t,”
Lilith paused. She slowly glanced over to the girl, confused.
“You do,” She said firmly. “In case you forgot, I used you to lure Eda to the Emperor’s Coven and could’ve gotten you seriously hurt.”
“You did?” Luz asked, before realization dawned on her. “Oh yeah! You did,” She chuckled. “I used to have nightmares about that.” She said casually.
Lilith flinched and turned away, focusing her attention on the paper she’d read over and over again.
There was a stretched silence for a few moments. Lilith thought Luz had fallen asleep, but she was still staring at her.
“Don’t hate cha,” Luz said again, her pupil flickering. “Ya no, al menos,” She mumbled.
“And why’s that?” Lilith sighed. “If you’d care to enlighten me,”
“You try,” Luz said, as if it were the most obvious thing in the world. “I mean, I definitely have favorites,” She said, turning her head on her arms. “But you’re off the hate-list. Hate file. Hate...paper.” She stuck out her tongue.
“Luz, with all due respect, I’m finding that hard to believe.” Lilith said simply. “You’re in a deleriated state, and I don’t trust your words at the moment.”
“I know stuff!” Luz shot back, glaring.
“What’s six times three?” Lilith asked.
Luz stared at her for a moment. She looked down at her fingers and began quietly counting on them.
“...twenty-three?” She suggested hesitantly.
Lilith gave her a deadpan stare before sighing and setting aside another paper.
“My point still stands,”
“But I don’t,” Luz whined, pounting.
“Not to be unappreciative, but Eda is far more deserving of you than I ever will be.” Lilith said simply, ears flicking back.
“Eda’s not perfect,” Luz muttered. “She made me break into the crema...the...tori...prison.” Luz muttered. “Prison break.”
“She made you break into the crematorium?” Lilith jerked up.
“First day,” Luz grinned, raising a finger. “For a...a lil crown.”
She suddenly lit up, happily facing Lilith.
“Hey, hey,” She started giggling. “Did you, did you know Warden Wrath,” She could barely hold back her laughs. “Wrath had a crush on Eda?”
Lilith’s eyebrows raised, and she searched Luz’s face with hesitant interest.
“I did not…” She said slowly.
“It was weird,” Luz giggled. “And, and she forgot my name!” She said gleefully. “Had to remind her who I was.”
“She did?” Lilith said, slowly setting her pen down.
“And she laughed at me,” Luz added, resting her chin on the table as she thought. “And told me to dig through trash. And almost killed me while cursed.”
Lilith visibly flinched, turning away. She had never heard that Eda transformed while Luz was stuck in the house with her.
How Luz made it out unscathed, she wished she knew.
“And she made me cheat at the covention,” Luz continued rattling off. “And Eda swapped our bodies because...petty I think. And made me shove moss up my nose. And she sold some of my old stuff,”
Luz visibly frowned slightly at that one.
“And she taunted me by saying I was fragile. And a bunch of other things,” She continued, her pupil spazzing for a moment. She visibly winced before it calmed to enveloping half her eye.
“That’s...quite a bit.” Lilith said slowly.
“Yeah,” Luz nodded, before placing her hands on the table again and raising herself up.
“But I still love her,” She said cheerfully. “She did good things, too.”
“Oh, I’ve heard about those, you don’t need to list them.” Lilith quickly assured the kid. “Eda boasts about her accomplishments all the time.”
Luz smiled and began messing with the pen Lilith left on the table, rolling it around as her eye followed it.
“You’ve done good, too.” She said quietly. “I like that you try,” She said sincerely, looking up. “I try.”
Lilith watched the girl for a moment. She offered the tiniest of smiles and glanced down at her hands, looking them over.
“Thank you,” She said quietly, holding her hands close. “I...I appreciate it.”
Luz ditched the pen and held herself up higher, looking proud.
“And if I’m honest, I’d almost think you weren’t as affected as we thought,” Lilith raised a brow in amusement. “Are you sure your not actually high?”
Luz blinked at her, tilting her head in confusion and frowning. She looked down, then looked back to Lilith.
“I’m on the floor,” She said.
“...never mind.” Lilith sighed, shaking her head. “You’re a wonder, Luz, you know that?”
Luz puffed out her chest with pride and brought a hand to it. She was about to say something, but she had been resting all her weight on her hands, and with one removed, she promptly slipped and cracked her chin against the coffee table.
“Are you alright?” Lilith exclaimed as Luz groaned and held her chin, falling onto the carpeted floor. “Ow,” Luz whined.
Lilith muttered under her breath and took off her glasses. She got up and walked over to Luz, helping the girl to her feet.
“At least you can feel pain again,” She murmured. “Come on, let’s get you to bed.”
Luz didn’t respond, but she allowed the witch to guide her out of the living room, still whimpering about the pain.
Lilith had gotten to the bottom of the stairs when Luz leaned against her side, holding her arms. Lilith looked down at her before wrapping an arm around the girl and gently leading her up the stairs.
Her studying could wait.
,
“Des-pa-cito,”
“Day three into Luz’s descent into madness,” Gus droned over Luz’s singing. “And I’ve lost my will to continue on.”
“Quiero respirar tu cuello despacito,” Luz sang deliriously, though at least she seemed to be having fun.
The friends were all sitting on the living room floor, with Eda and King messing with some glyphs on the couch.
“Where’s Lilith?” Amity wondered, eyeing Luz, who was laying on her back on the floor.
“Holed up in her room studying on something,” Eda waved her hand casually. “Don’t know, don’t particularly care. Unless it's useful to us right now.”
“Deja que te diga cosas al oído,” Luz hummed. “Para que te acuerdes si no estás conmigo.”
“When Luz said she was going to distract herself from her headache, I wasn’t expecting this.” Willow said calmly, already glazed over from three days of putting up with this.
“It’s not that much different from yesterday,” Amity insisted.
“Des-pa-cito!”
The green-haired witches expression, however, proved that she was tired of dealing with Luz’s shenanigans as well.
“Quiero desnundar--”
Luz suddenly cut herself off, staring at the ceiling. Amity glanced over, noticing a crimson on Luz’s face as her unbandaged pupil contracted.
“Luz?” Amity asked.
“Nope, not saying that.” Luz said, still staring at the ceiling.
Amity raised a brow and glanced at her friends. They only gave her clueless shrugs. Not like any of them knew Spanish.
“I’m too hungry to put up with this,” Eda grumbled, getting up from the couch and ditching the fire glyph she was trying to draw. “You kids want lunch?”
“It’s three PM?” Gus said, glancing up.
“Time is an illusion and so are you,” Eda responded, walking by the kids. “You hungry or not?”
“I am,” King said, scampering after her.
“A bit,” Amity nodded, standing up. “C’mon, Luz.”
“Not hungry,” Luz said simply, turning her head to watch as her friends all got up.
“I know for a fact you haven’t had lunch today,” Eda said, stopping and looking back. “You gotta eat, Luz.”
“I’m just not hungry,” Luz whined. “Wake up not hungry, stay not hungry.”
Eda frowned as Amity offered a hand and helped Luz to her feet.
“Didn’t wake up hungry?” Eda repeated. “Did you eat breakfast?”
“No,” Luz said bluntly. “Wasn’t hungry.”
“Luz!” Willow scolded.
“What? I’m not!” Luz huffed, crossing her arms.
“Luz, when was the last time you ate?” Eda sighed.
Luz paused. She scrunched up her face for a moment before beginning to mutter and count on her fingers.
You could see the fear spike through everyone in the room.
“Uh, not yesterday,” Luz mumbled. “Not...yesterday-yesterday…”
“You haven’t eaten anything in over three days?” Gus exclaimed.
“Ow,” Luz grumbled, pointing to her ears before her pupil contracted. “But...yeah, think so. Wasn’t hungry,” She shrugged like it was no big deal.
“Oh you’ve gotta be kidding me,” Eda groaned, disturbed. “Come on, Luz, you’re eating something.”
“But-”
“No buts!” Eda snapped, grabbing the back of the girls shirt and tugging her into the kitchen. “You not feeling hungry in three days is the most worrying thing you’ve said. The no-pain thing is definitely second.”
“I swear we thought she ate before and that’s why she wasn’t hungry,” Gus said, hurriedly following after.
“Not your fault, I should’ve paid more attention.” Eda shrugged, dumping Luz into the kitchen chair where she pouted. “Add that to the list of vaccine symptoms.”
“No wonder she keeps falling over,” Willow murmured, casually shoving Luz back into her seat when she tried to get up. “I would too, if I was functioning on no food.”
“Shouldn’t she have gotten better by now?” Amity asked, pacing on the opposite side of the island counter. “Eda, when did you say she’ll get better?” “I…” Eda paused, one hand on the fridge door as she thought. “...a week. A week at most.” She said, glancing back. “We’ll be seeing progress between now and the end of this week, I promise.”
She almost winced at her own lie. Which was a rare sight for the con-artist.
“I’m fine,” Luz grumbled, slumping onto the table. “I’ve had worse,”
“While you weren’t inebriated, Luz.” Amity deadpanned. “It’s one thing when you get yourself into trouble on your own, this is worse.”
“Dramatic,” Luz muttered, but didn’t comment further.
“Willow, you're the strongest, right?” Eda asked, turning and placing a bowl of leftover meat chunks on the table.
“Yeah?” Willow blinked. “Why?”
“Hold her down,” She instructed the witch. “Because she will fight back.”
Willow didn’t react for the first few moments, allowing Eda’s words to sink in for Luz. She started to shoot up and make a break for it, but Willow quickly snapped out of it and shoved the human back into her seat with little difficulty.
Luz flailed and even tried to bite Willow, but it did practically nothing. A sharp shoulder squeeze at the human wincing and obediently sitting still.
“Is this...common?” Gus inquired.
“No, not really.” Eda shook her head. “I just figured since Luz was having such an aversion to eating for three days, she probably wouldn’t be inclined to now just because we asked nicely.”
Luz tried to mimic a hiss as Eda set down the bowl in front of her. Gus giggled at the sight, since it was more like her saying the word hiss than the actual noise witches made.
“Every day, I lose more of my sanity in this house,” Amity said, stepping away as Luz tried to struggle again and Eda searched for a fork.
“Welcome to the club, kid.”
,
Luz had been sent to bed three hours earlier.
It was the end of the third day.
Eda, for some reason, was wide awake.
This wasn’t out of the blue. She was usually up at odd hours due to her curse. She felt less inclined to do so now, but thirty-year-old habits die hard.
She figured she woke up on her own, so she got up to get a snack like usual, and to check on Luz in her room.
But when she left her own room and looked down the hallway, she saw that Luz’s door was wide open.
Panic seized her for a brief moment before she forced herself to calm down. An open door didn’t mean anything, get yourself together.
Eda poked her head inside Luz’s room and looked around. Sure enough, her sleeping bag was left abandoned, and the human was nowhere to be seen.
Her first thought was Lilith. Nothing specific at all, just that Lilith was responsible.
She shook her head and looked back towards Lilith’s ‘room.’ The light was still on.
She opened the door a crack, seeing Lilith was sitting on the floor, ready to pass out. She had books and papers strewn out before her, half of them medical, the other half everything on humans and their realm she could find. Eda knew Luz and Gus had already read through those before.
She felt the tiniest twinge of guilt at the immediate blame before silently shutting the door.
Maybe Luz had just gone for a snack, like her. It wasn’t too unusual for her to creep out at midnight.
Granted, she wasn’t on the verge of toppling over at every step those last times.
Eda walked down the stairs and looked around. She checked every room, seeing no trace of the human anywhere, her anxiety growing by the minute.
She pulled out a fire glyph and lit the candles around the kitchen, forcibly keeping her breathing normal.
“Hello?”
Eda perked at the sound of the girl's voice and pricked her ears up. She saw that the back door was wide open, explaining why Hooty hadn’t noticed anything. He was asleep at this point, anyway.
She could see the outline of someone standing well outside the house, nearly at the treeline.
“Luz!” Eda called, rushing out the door. “What are you doing out here, kid?”
Luz whirled around, eyes wide and scared.
The bandage around her head was gone, revealing the injury on her head was at nasty cotting phase. Her eye was still dark and swollen, but she could open it far better than before. The healing glyphs had sped up the process, while they had been on.
“Luz?” Eda slowed, coming to a stop a few meters from the girl, the kitchen light from the house giving her a shadow that stretched out right towards Luz.
“It...it’s her,” Luz said, slowly turning her head back around to face the forest. “I can hear her.”
“Hear who?” Eda said, taking a step closer.
“Listen,” Luz said simply.
So, Eda did. She angled her ears to listen towards the forest, silent and still.
The only sound that greeted her was the wind through the trees.
“There it is!” Luz suddenly perked up. “That’s her!”
There hadn’t been a sound.
Eda knew her hearing was well more developed than Luz’s, all witches ears were. So the fact that Luz claimed to be hearing something even she couldn’t was...concerning.
“Kid, I can’t hear anything.” Eda shook her head.
“You’re not listening,” Luz huffed, her left pupil dilating. “It’s her! She’s somewhere out here, I know it!” She said, looking around.
“Who?” Eda demanded. “Who can you hear? What are you talking about?”
“My mamá,” Luz said, still scanning the treeline. “I can hear her.”
Oh.
Eda felt a painful twist in her chest. For a moment, she thought her gem was acting up, but it was still the same inky black as before.
“Luz,” Eda started gently, walking closer to the girl. “Your mother’s not here.”
“Yes she is, I hear her.” Luz said, as if it were the most obvious thing in the world. “I think you need your ears checked. She’s somewhere out there, I just need to--”
Eda grabbed Luz’s shoulder and she whirled around, startled. Her eyes flickered and spazzed, reflecting Eda’s face before shrinking again.
“That’s not her,” Eda said softly, looking down at the girl. “You’re hallucinating again, kiddo.” She said sorrowfully. “There’s nobody there.”
Luz looked up at the witch, her brows knitting together in a frown. She suddenly jerked back to the forest, head raised.
“But I hear her…” She said quietly, a crack lacing her voice.
“I know you do,” Eda said, wrapping an arm around the teens shoulders. “But there’s no way that can be her. She’s back in the human realm, remember?”
Luz stared up at Eda with wide, searching eyes. She looked back to the forest, her body tense. Eda knew that look and tightened her hold around Luz’s shoulders, her hand placed just below Luz’s collarbone.
“Mamá!” Luz shouted, straining against Eda’s hold. “Mamá! I’m here!” She cried, raising a hand to grab Eda’s, but she didn’t try to pull her off.
Eda realized that the shouting must’ve been torture to Luz’s ears. She could even see the human wince every time she shouted. And yet, she kept calling.
Luz waited, listening intently. Eda sighed and gently tried to pull the human back.
“She’s not there. She would’ve heard you.” She said.
“She must be stuck,” Luz insisted. “Mamá!”
“Luz,” Eda breathed. “Please, she’s not--”
“She has to be!” Luz persisted, straining again. “She...she has to be...I can hear her…”
The girl looked back at Eda, tears shining in her eyes and already beginning to roll down her cheeks.
Eda’s ears pressed back and she let out a breath, drawing up her other hand to gently grab Luz’s arm, her expression full of sorrow.
“I’m sorry, Luz.” She said softly. “I’m so sorry, but that’s not her.”
Luz sniffled and hiccuped. She opened her mouth to shout more, but all that came out was a strangled gasp. She quickly closed her mouth again, shutting her eyes as tears freely rolled down her cheeks.
The girl turned and buried her face in the crook of Eda’s arm, her hands tightly clutching Eda’s dress as she tried and failed to muffle her sobs.
Eda enveloped the girl in a hug, feeling every shake her body gave as she wailed. The human flinched at every loud noise she made, but was unable to stop it.
Eda offered hushed whispers, holding the girl up and placing a hand on the back of her head. She stared off into the trees, only being greeted by the empty shadows.
The only sound now was Luz’s cries.
The witch, keeping her arms around Luz, began to guide her back to the house. Luz stayed clinging to her side, her face streaked with tears.
It was awkward maneuvering around her, but she didn’t complain.
Luz’s sobs had quieted to choked cries by the time Eda stepped inside, shutting the door behind her.
She debated trying to turn off the lights, since she couldn’t rely on her magic to do that for her, but she decided to let the candles burn themselves out instead.
“Can you walk, kid?” Eda asked the girl.
Luz sniffled and nodded, slowly peeling herself off of Eda’s side.
“Come on, let’s hit the hay, eh?” She offered, nudging the girl in front of her. “When’s the last time we got a good night's rest, am I right?” She said, trying a half-hearted joke.
Luz paused at that, wiping at her eyes as she thought.
“I don’t think I’ve slept the last two days,” Luz said, glancing back.
Eda stared at her, praying that the girl was joking. And as hard it was to take Luz seriously with one pupil blown wide and the other taking up her entire iris, she knew very well she wasn’t joking.
“Great Titan, kid,” Eda sighed, pinching the bridge of her nose. “Alright, my nest. Someone has to keep an eye on you.”
Luz nodded and began to climb the stairs, holding her hands together to try and stop their shaking. Eda stayed right behind her, fearfully shifting every time she saw the girl sway slightly.
Eda caught Lilith’s door quickly shutting when they made it up the stairs. She wasn’t surprised, Luz hadn’t necessarily been quiet.
Luz stumbled down the hallway, Eda hovering right behind her. She looked away for a moment to look at Lilith’s closed door, noting that the lights were off now.
She heard a thud.
Eda spun around, tensing.
Luz had fallen mid-step, crashing onto the floor in a heap. In a flash, Eda was at her side and pulling her up, terrified something bad had happened.
Instead, she was greeted by Luz’s soft snores.
“Of course,” Eda sighed, scooping her up into her arms. “Just my luck you’d pass out before we even got to my room.” She muttered.
Effortlessly, she carried the human to her room and kicked the door shut behind her. She lay Luz in her nest, leaning her head on the edge to keep it propped up.
Eda searched her room for a moment before finding the spare gauzes and healing glyphs she kept for emergencies. It was awkward trying to wrap up Luz’s head, but she managed and placed two healing glyphs on her, one over her eye and the other on the back of her head.
She searched her nest for a moment before pulling out an old blanket she rarely used. She wrapped it around Luz and lay her back down before slipping into her nest beside her.
Luz twitched in her sleep, but aside from that, she didn’t stir.
Eda lay on her stomach, her head squished against the edge of the nest. She glanced at Luz beside her before wrapping one arm around her, keeping the girl close.
“I’m sorry, kid.” Eda sighed quietly. “You never deserved any of this.”
All that greeted her was deafening silence.
,
“Are you sure you feel fine?” Gus asked for the eighth time that morning.
“Yes, Gus,” Luz sighed. “I swear that I am completely conscious now.”
“Guess your prediction was right,” Eda mumbled to Lilith, standing off to the side from the group. “Been a week, and she’s nearly normal again.”
“Thank goodness!” King breathed, slumping over Luz’s crossed leg. “I couldn’t handle being smothered by you again.”
“Sorry,” Luz winced, giving a sheepish smile. “I take it I…” She raised a hand and felt at her eye, which, while less swollen, was still noticeable. “Caused a bit of trouble?” She guessed shyly.
“Your hallucinations weren’t fun,” Willow nodded. “Or your unending thirst for every water bottle you could find.”
“And your refusal to eat and sleep,” Eda added.
Luz rubbed the back of her neck, hunching her shoulders and offering nervous smiles.
“Sorry, guys.”
“Don’t worry, it’s not your fault.” Amity assured her.
Eda casted a sideways glare at Lilith, who looked away and held her hands behind her back.
“At least you’ll get to freely move around the beast keeping track now,” Willow added. “Viney will appreciate the help, I’m sure.”
“Oh, yeah!” Luz perked up. “No more sick day excuses!” She pumped a fist.
“Which means you’re helping out with the trash slugs now,” Eda reminded with a grin. “Because now you don’t have excuses.”
“Getting vaccines doesn’t mean she’s immune to all sickness, Edalyn.” Lilith grit her teeth and sent a glare towards her sister.
“Yeah, but she won’t get, like, ones that’ll kill her.” Eda waved a hand casually.
“Aw,” Luz slumped.
“A moment of silence for Luz.” Willow said solemnly.
“Do you wanna read about what happened?” Gus asked excitedly, already pulling out his notebook.
“Am I going to regret it if I do?” Luz turned to Amity.
“Fifty-fifty,” Amity tilted her hand. “I’d skip the part with the broken window and dumpster-diving.”
“And the kitchen incident?” Willow added, giving Amity a smug look.
Amity gave a guttural growl and lowered her ears.
“I’m already worried,” Luz said, anxiously glancing between her friends.
“How about we hold off on the trip down memory lane?” Lilith said, walking around and slowly pushing down Gus’s notebook that he was pulling out. “Luz, aside from the usual symptoms, is anything different?” She questioned the girl.
“Uh,” Luz frowned and thought for a moment. “A mild headache is normal, right?”
“Yeah, you got those all the time.” King nodded.
Luz hummed and thought, tapping her fingers on the carpet before perking up.
“Oh, I think I’ve got a better pain tolerance now.”
“I thought that faded?” Amity exclaimed, panicked.
“That was an issue?” Luz blinked. “I mean, it’s not that bad. I kinda fell down the stairs earlier but all I got was a regular bruise instead of a small gash like three weeks ago.”
“You really need to fix the stairs if this is a common issue,” Lilith turned to Eda.
“Oh, that’s not as bad.” Willow relaxed. “Your pain tolerance used to be so high that when you cut your head you didn’t feel a thing.”
Luz gave Willow a wide-eyed, very concerned look.
“Wasn’t fun,” Amity shook her head, shuttering.
“Yeah, no, my tolerance is nowhere near that high.” Luz assured them. “And I can sort of feel the magic from my glyphs? I dunno, it’s hard to describe.”
“Probably the magic the vaccines had,” Eda shrugged. “That might last a while longer.”
“Cool,” Luz grinned. “Oh, and my vision feels weird sometimes, but I think I’ll be fine after a few hours.”
“Yeah, that's normal. Your eyes acted up a lot.” Gus nodded. “It was really funny, your entire eye would be just black.”
“...human pupils can’t dilate that much.” Luz said, concern lacing her tone.
“They can now,” Eda snickered. “With the,” She broke off in a fit of giggles. “The power of witch drugs.”
“I’m going to admit,” King raised his head. “Now I’m curious what actual drugs would do to you.”
“You have drugs in the Isles?” Luz exclaimed. “Like, illegal ones?”
“Course we do,” Eda chuckled. “You can find them at the Night Market for, what, ten snails?”
“That’s the cheap ones.” Lilith corrected. “The very illegal ones go for fifty or more.”
“And you know this because…?”
Lilith stiffened and cast a fearful glance at the children all watching her expectantly. Aside from Amity, who looked very worried.
“...I used to catch a lot of people selling at the Night Market,” Lilith said, crossing her arms. “It’s hard not to take notice of how much they were going for.”
“Plot twist of the century, ex-coven leader Lilith Clawthorne snorts fairy dust.” Eda giggled. “Oh how the masses would love that.”
“Edalyn!” Lilith gasped.
“Am I wrong?”
“And this is our cue to leave,” Luz whispered to her friends as the sisters began their daily bickering.
Her friends didn’t argue, they just quickly got up and shuffled towards the door. Willow carried King with them in her arms like a football, much to his silent complaints.
Luz opened the door and guided her friends out, quitey shutting out the arguing sisters.
“Hi, guys!” Hooty chirped.
Luz winced and pulled away, rubbing at her ears.
“Ow,” She muttered.
“Are your ears still sensitive?” Amity worried, shooting Hooty a glare that made him shut up.
“Only a little,” Luz offered a smile, stepping away from the front door. “Anyway, what did I miss while I was out of it?”
“Nothing much,” Gus said, beginning to walk off as the rest followed. “Aside from, like, a ton of homework.” “I expect nothing less,” Luz muttered, pain etched into her face.
“You want me to ask Principal Bump to loosen up on you for a bit?” Amity asked.
“Teachers pet privilege,” Willow whispered under her breath.
“I heard that!” Amity snapped.
“Just a little,” Luz nodded. “I’m still emotionally recovering from being basically unconscious for a week.”
“I still have the notes if you want to read them,” Gus said, slowly pulling out his notebook again.
“On one hand, yes,” Luz said. “But on the other hand, I’m scared of what I’ll find.”
“It’s mostly just filled with you falling over a lot and singing random songs on repeat.” Willow shrugged.
“I have all of them stuck in my head at the same time and I can’t get them out,” Amity whispered, looking horror-stricken.
Luz chuckled nervously, rubbing along the edges of her black eye.
“You know, I think I’m glad I don’t remember much.”
