Fiamet And Cridea’s Signs
Ok so like. I feel like it’s inevitable that Fiamet is a limeblood. It’d be weirder to me considering the evidence if she wasn’t rather than if she was. Her horns literally looks identical to one of the limeblood signs. So I wanna talk about something other than the obvious. I wanna talk about Sign names. Idk how accurate these are to most of the characters I.E. Konyyl has the sign of ‘the synthesizer’ which you could not ask me to interpret for a million monies, but hey, people talk about it when they do their “marvus is a limeblood theory” and ykw good for them, so I will too. So. Let’s talk about the surface level interpretation here. Fiamet has this sign:
A doom sign, prospit, and with my limited knowledge of “never read homestuck but still likes hiveswap” I can say with slight confidence it’s common for doom characters to kick the bucket (no.) This is the sign of the tilted, which ig makes sense because Fiamet is a rebel leader. Now Cridea, she’s interesting:
THE PUPPETEER? As in. Maniuplator. Now on it’s own I don’t think this is inherently malicious. She’s an influencer after all! But. Um. Remember the Fiamet/axoltl lookin sign? Ya wanna know what it’s called?
Yea. For those of you who don’t wanna look it up, constrained means forced or manipulated. Which when you take into account that Dammek, Xefros, Fiamet, and Cridea are the most important four trolls in the game. Hm... It would also make an interesting pairing for the two characters because it’s mind and heart (common parallels iirc), and Blood and rage (motivators for rebellion), but that’s just a random thought. I’m not saying I’m positive that Cridea is a traitor manipulating or blackmailing Fiamet in some way (which is an idea I think I’ll dive into further on my thoughts on the why and how later, because those are more flexible and focus on the what for now), but it does concern me, and the concern isn’t helped by “the green button isn’t working”.

Marvus theories can be found collected here! https://www.reddit.com/r/homestuck/comments/p92py5/marvus_definitely_isnt_who_he_says_he_is/
0_0 Okay! That was... Welp, looks like I'm scared of Marvus now.
I'm going for time at the moment, but this was fascinating nevertheless!

i have a question about hiveswap as im just getting into it, considering that the events of hiveswap and hauntswitch both take place in the late 1900s, whats the point exactly?
we already know whats going to happen and that all of the characters are doomed fail on their goals and then die no matter the outcome. the caste system is never abolished, HIC stays in power, both earth and Alterna get destroyed, and doc scratch continues his plan without a hitch
none of it seems to really matter or serve any purpose other than worldbuilding for 2 already doomed worlds (3 if you count the cherub portal implying a lost society of cherubs)
Well, it is. It is worldbuilding, that’s what precuels are. They add extra context to events you already know will happen, they add to how they happened, how we got there. That doesn’t make them pointless.
It may seem irrelevant at first glance, but Hiveswap actually has a very important role.
It sets the stage for the arrival of the players on both Alternia and Earth-A
The events of Hiveswap are happening with an equivalent distance in years between both Alternia and earth
Which means the Beta children are about to arrive in their meteors (1995 - 1996) a little after the time when Joey and Jude are having this adventure (1994), which means the Alpha trolls will get to Alternia soon too.
Both timelines are mirrored in time, they both have the same exact amount of time before the end.
We know the Beta kids hadn’t arrived yet to earth during Hiveswap because it’s 1994, and that the Alpha trolls hadn’t arrived either because Trizza is the heiress, and there can only be one at a time, so Feferi isn't there yet.
This series of events are necessary for Doc scratch’s plan, otherwise he wouldn’t have intervened, giving Xefros a surveillance free communication channel, so Joey and him aren’t detected by the authorities.
He needs them under the radar so they can (while trying to send Joey back home) connect people with each other, cause necessary problems, kick start important events.
All which will set the stage for the 12 troll player’s arrival.
What do I think it’s the most important event Doc Scratch needs Joey and Xefros to make happen?
Trizza has to die. There can only be one heiress at a time, and if Feferi is about to arrive, then Trizza has to go.
The events of Hiveswap/HauntSwitch will cause the death of the heiress, either fighting against the Condesce, at the hands of the revolted trolls Joey and Xefros will influence, crushed to death by Feferi’s own meteor, who knows. But if this is the "equivalent to 1994 on Alternia" and all that is happening it’s really happening as a mirrored version of Earth’s timeline, then the 12 trolls should be to arriving at different dates during the following year. Which means she doesn’t have much time left, as we know Feferi was the only heiress on Alternia during Homestuck. And we’re 13 years away from the end of the world. It needs to happen now.
It's the same tactic Doc used with Rose, Vriska and Terezi
The only reason he ever “helps” anybody it's because he needs them to make things happen.
He needs Joey and Xefros alive, he needs the rebellion to go through (even if it fails, it'll fail in a way that it's usefull for him), he needs Trizza gone so Feferi can come to Alternia and so the final stage of this plan of millions of years connecting dots and manipulating people to create a hostile planet for the new players to grow stronger that their predecessors, can begin. The rise of the new players.
I personaly think Tyzias might be the one to intercept Karkat or at least be involved in it.
It could be her, Joey or maybe someone else, but whoever intercepts him will have to know about the signless and according to Tyzias’s password (69) she already knows about him and she knows his symbol, and seems to be a follower in the down low. Tyzias also must knows how the singless promised that there would be another troll like him, and according to Doc scratch's explanation:
The followers of the summoner decreased enormously, but the Doc said himself that there were still some of them hidden and I think he was talking about Tyzias and her alies.
Sometimes we forget that there was intervention from the suferer's followers to ensure Karkat's survival
That’s why he has the sufferer’s symbol, someone who knew it gave it to him. And we know Tyzias knows.
The ectobiologist and team leader also seems to always be the last one to turn 13, (as well as the last to wake up as their dream self) so Karkat should be the last one to arrive, ending that chain of events.
Of course this all means that, by the time the end of the world happens, and asuming they’re all still alive, all Hiveswap trolls would be adults carrying duties off planet and would die the day of the apocalypse during the Vast Glub along with all troll Civilization.
The same would happen to Joey and Jude, assuming Joey is successful and returns to Earth. They would die on the 13th of April 2009 with the rest of humanity, not knowing they had a part in it or that their lost brother was the detonator of the end of the world.
It’s tragic in the end, but it’s necessary. Someone has to play that role.
They are the stagehands who prepared the stage for the first act of the play they were never meant to see.
And who knows, it may not be the end of them, maybe we’re too quick to assume they didn’t get saved somehow. By some random paradoxical event or deus ex machine that teleported them away from danger. We’ll have to wait and see how it plays out.
It's been a while since i wrote an analysis, i really missed that ^u^

To address the big grey, candy corned horned elephant in the room. Yes I am a homosuck fan. I'm still mildly amused that people are so shocked that the nerds making animated shows, are into animated nerd shit? I've already been asked a few times so I've written out below what I think the Heeler's classpects would be.
HOWEVER unfortunately for all of you I am not only into Homestuck but am also a huge textual analysis nut for it. So before you can have dessert I'm going to use this as an excuse to lay out some of my fav pieces of writing regarding it. They sum up why I still have an immense reverence for this stupid piece of shit better than I could ever explain.
@hampermarketplace Why I can’t understand Homestuck
@some-triangles I’m trying to figure out why I like Davepetasprite so much.
@optimisticduelist2 & his wonderful YT channel
@mmmmalo is a never ending stream of interesting and intricate theories and I like to pretend I'm erudite enough to understand even half of them
There's too many artists still out there posting up and drawing extremely hard HS pics that I love to list out, but fruitegg has got to get a mention. Everything I attempt to do in my art when it comes to capturing the energy and attitude of living Aus she does far smarter and far funnier. It rules I have somehow fooled her into being my friend.
______
Alright done, here's what you wanted
Bandit: Bard of Hope Chilli: Mage of Hope Bluey: Knight of Void Bingo: Page of Light
Bandit & Chilli are straight forward enough. The thinking behind Bluey & Bingo is as follows. Doing a close reading of them as kids you could easily argue they're Breath/Hope players BUT. There used to be a few working theories around Hiveswap characters mistakenly imitating the wrong classpects. And though I don't think the girls are doing that, it feels to me like their youth is masquerading what their classpects would actually be.
As they're very clearly delineated active (Bluey) passive (Bingo) and so close as sisters, I reckon they'd be a full classpect pair. As much as I think Bluey would really suit Knight of Blood, there's ways Knight of Void would act as a perfect compliment to Bingo's Page of Light. A helpful, positive Knight of Void who protects her friends from despair, and is socially intelligent enough to weaponise people's unawareness/ignorance to her and her friends own advantage seems like a really exciting angle to analyse her through.
Finally, the only classpect I would bet my life on is Muffin being a Mage of Rage. 🤡
#homestuck#bluey#shamelessly ripping OD's Hiveswap theories fr fr#all of this is stupid I am stupid you are stupid we are all stupid#What still gets me I didn't really touch upon is how Hussie single handedly created a new system to analyse and class archetypes#I know it's obvs based on other shit but I find his far easier to use than anything else I've encountered

I know this blog doesn't dwell on canonicity but I thought I'd chew on it anyway. It's the hyperfixation; it calls me.
I like theorizing about the canon Dammek, even if I'm in the minority with my opinions.
I don't know, the fanon perception of Dammek ranges from he's a malevolent twat that levels anyone or anything in his path OR he's a Strider copy. A stoic, wise-cracking asshole.
I don't subscribe to either notion.
He's not stoic as he emotes in every in-game photo or promotional art for Hiveswap. Honestly. I haven't seen a single piece in-game where he's rendered stoic. His lips aren't pursed he wears a shit-eating grin. He's always smiling—quite deviously at that. It's a smirk.
And the former assertion? I... I just don't see him being anything more than a brat? I don't see any evidence he's volatile or a parallel to Karkat Vantas. He never looks angry. He doesn't have resting bitch face.
He has—I just hacked into your computer and siphoned your files—face. If anything, the exposition we get in Hiveswap dictates he's... not physically adept. He's the brain to Xefros' brawn. He's the "ideas" guy. I think he lives vicariously through Xefros. I mean I know this is a bold statement but... I really think he's a lot like Jake.
He yearns for adventure, to be someone's hero, and to swoop in with cunning and bravado. Two of his altered movie posters depict him as the hero type. At most, he wants to be Alternia's savior. At least, I'd wager he wants to save Xefros. I think where the conflict lies is... Xefros isn't a damsel. He's a one-troll army. I believe Dammek covets his moirail's strength; he wants to be like the men in his action movies. So he lives out his fantasies vicariously through Xefros. He arranges obstacles, trials, and the like to satiate his fantasy of being a hero—and Xefros is the collateral.
While Xefros is jumping through the hoops, Dammek’s envy is leading him to develop pitch feelings. He may not like it, but it's there. And I think Xefros knows it because he's too self-aware not to.
But hey, I'm just thinking aloud. Being an introject clouds my opinion a little. I could be wrong! I just wanted to throw it out there. :')
#hiveswap#tetrarch dammek#hiveswap theory#homestuck#host davey rambles#canon discussions#One of the biggest critiques I have about hiveswap is much of the story is told via exposition#Dammek is the only one of the four protagonists we don't play as in Act 1 so#There's not a lot provided to speak to his motivation but I tried to base my ramblings on detail from the game

I’m betting lynera comes back as a rainbow drinker.
I’m piecing together my troll biology headcannons and just hit a segment on rainbowdrinkers that got me thinking of this theory I’ve kicked around for like a year but never posted. Hiveswap 2 introduces a thread on rainbow drinkers that I can see being resolved by one being revealed in a later installment.
The only character I can imagine for the role: Lynera
hiveswap 2 spoilers below the cut
The neutral ending of the trial has her thrown off the train and presumed dead. Just as kanaya was presumed dead after being shot. If we can assume one circumstance is an inciting event, than we should assume the other could be too. The rage influence of her viriborn sign also makes me think she has the potential to persist further than we’re led to believe.
Baizli’s body is leaving a blood trail (and ambiguously severed head) for her to hone in on. The likely carnage at the scene of the derailment and possibly more major npc deaths may continue the trail even later into the game.
#hiveswap#lynera skalbi#while fact checking this i heard a claim that the hiveswap 2 beta actually showed baizli's head on the tracks#i cant find any evidence of it though#rainbow drinker theory#she seems exactly like the type to sprint down several miles of train tracks seeking feral revenge against those who wronged her

Fiamet Rambles
Ok.What if: Fiamet larping as a Seer of Doom
(Warning Joey of the danger ahead)
But she’s a prince of mind ( A revolutionary, destroying people’s old worldviews. Seeing as she’s a Tetrarch, she’s probably a good strategist too. Destroys through judgement and logic)

Re your Marvus poll, he almost certainly isn't actually a Time player at all. The devs confirmed that's not his real sign.
I'm going based on what is known at the moment (time being the best guess so far). That being said, I'd love to hear theories.
My best guesses are that his sign would either be Canrist and he's a limeblood in disguise, or that he's a Capritannius because Void is all about secrecy. Or he's a true Capricorn like Gamzee.
I'm sticking with Caprist as his sign so far; pesterquest gives him a lot of Time awareness.
I'd love to hear what you think, though!

(1/2) I noticed something interesting with trolls choice in attire throughout the years. When we are first introduced to them, everyone dressed mostly in black and greys(with expectations) because it was said trolls cared little for fashion. This is not entirely true(especially considering Kanaya's love for fabrics), but it is what we had to go off on for the time being. Then we jump to Openbound and see the Pre-Scratch cast be more expressive with attire --
(2/2) Even those on the lower end of the hemospectrum put style in their clothing with black/grays being secondary to their dominant blood color, which I personally chalked up to Beforus having different rules for fashion. More recently we have Hiveswap and it seems everyone is a mix of both styles: Black/Grays as dominator colors or Blood color worn openly and proud. It's genuinely neat to see how style has evolved from just the webcomic. Thoughts?
It's entirely possible that 1) It was early Troll Worldbuilding Weirdness, or 2) Karkat's perspective and him speaking out of his ass on what is normal/isn't in Troll Society, despite him, and the rest of the Trolls, are a bunch of weirdos even by Troll Standards-
But also consider: 3) Hiveswap happens waaaaay into the past. Restrictions on dress code could've become more intense as dissent grows on Alternia.
