(Nightmare for Ashan) Hithfaeril rested upon 03's medical table, motionless save for the laboured breathing that shook her body in agony. With each exhale more spores poured from her lungs, filling the air. There was nothing he could do to save her, he awoke in fright. It was only a dream, he told himself as he checked on Hithfaeril. "Darling.." He whispered, tugging at her shoulder. Her body flopped onto her back, mushrooms growing out from her eyes, her mouth; bursting through her flesh.

He was woken up by his own scream, kicking off the blanket and burying his nails into his cold cheeks. “No... oh fuck... oh fuck. Fucking fuck. God...” His eyes were glossy with tears of both fear and relief. 

Hithaeril was starting to stir from her rest. Ashan moved close to her and embraced her tightly.

“I love you so much. I love you, I love you, I love you. So, so much...” He whispered to her, pressing her even more against his chest.

i first got into dnd by watching critical role. Definitely worth watching the first episode at least, they also have podcasts, so you can listen to it at any time
