“Red Hands”
Reply for @cavalrylad
Night and rain stole upon him. A heavy rain that failed to slow at any moment, matting his clothes. It was miraculous in itself he had not fallen from his mare yet, the way the mud turned to a slippery mess. Yet, Visare did not falter easily to Chion's great relief.
She was a good horse, who listened to her owner well. Fleeing as he would, staying as he would. He never liked walking through these lonely woods at night. Stories from mother would enter his thoughts, of lonely spirits seeking their loved ones or vengeance if they were wicked in life.
Everyone has a childish part about them. The fear of not darkness itself, but what is in the dark.
"Atta girl, nice and easy Visare. Just for this, I'll treat you to two sugar cubes later." He cooed, finding comfort by talking to her. Her ears pinned against her head suddenly. Stopping.
Puzzled, Chion tried to see through the curtain of rain, climbing from her. Making sure she stays, he crept forward when his foot brushed against something. Not a log. Crouching, he could see it is a man. Blond hair is matted against his face, glancing lower, he could well see the blood seeping through his shirt.
A startled gasp escaped Chion's lips, checking for a pulse. "Faint...but still there..." he whispered, licking his lips out of nervous habit. In a quick, struggling motion, he carefully hoists the wounded fellow. One arm around his shoulder. The other at his waist.
He placed him on Visare's back, urging her forward while making certain he does not slip. After an hour of trekking on horse back, he at last found a abandoned cabin. One that had not been in use, for some years. Tying Visare to her post, he struggled in carrying the man inside placing him on an old couch.
Nervous breaths left his lips, fumbling about until he found pliars. "Okay. Okay, I can do this...remember your training." He said to himself, lifting the man's shirt. He felt where the wound, a bullet had struck.
One.
Two.

BIO
Hailing from a family of German/Scottish immigrants, Chion was born and raised in Dartford, Wisconsin a small village in Michigan coming into the world on Christmas Eve morning.
Quiet is what one may notice about him at first, yet, behind his eyes a strong will to survive the Revolution lingers. He had no friends growing up except for that of a small fox, when he was a child named Todd. Unfortunately, to his horror his father killed the animal out of pure spite. Years later he died from alcohol poisoning.
Though the witch trials may have passed, his mother was still looked upon with distrust amongst their peers of Dartford. His father's reputation was bad enough, they said. In turn they were forced out into the woods. While Chion does not harbor any hatred, trying to remember his mother's firmness of that hatred eats away at your soul, that bitterness still lingers deep to a small degree.
When she died of consumption years later, Chion made the decision at aged twenty to sign up for the war. Abusive as his father was, he did teach him some ways in archery when he was a boy of nine. It would prove useful for his position in Washington's army.
Though unsure what his fate will be, Chion made a solemn vow to keep going. No matter the price.
Characters he meets: Benjamin Tallmadge (mid season one) Caleb Brewster (mid season one) William Bradford (season two) Benedict Arnold (season two) Washington (mid season two) Lafayette (season three) Gamble Shanks

Mastering the Gladiator Arena: An In-Depth Guide to Gladiator Rankings on GladiatorsBattle.com
Introduction: Ancient Rome was a world shaped by the courage, skill, and daring of its gladiators — men and women whose battles in the arena immortalized them as legends. Today, GladiatorsBattle.com captures this ancient tradition, offering players worldwide the chance to build and showcase their own ranking of gladiators. Gladiator Rankings is a unique, community-driven system that lets players evaluate gladiators on skill, valor, and mythical renown. In this detailed guide, we’ll explore Gladiator Rankings from top to bottom, giving you the tools, strategies, and tips needed to become a ranking master on the site.
The Concept of Gladiator Rankings on GladiatorsBattle.com
The Gladiator Rankings feature allows users to create, publish, and engage with various gladiator rankings, giving them a central role in shaping the lore and prestige within the Gladiators Battle community. Players can categorize gladiators from S-tier — the pinnacle of legend — down to C-tier, where bravery still shines but with room for growth. By allowing users to create their own rankings, GladiatorsBattle.com transforms passive players into active contributors, fostering engagement and a strong connection to ancient Rome’s history.
Gladiator Rankings: Purpose and Potential
Why Gladiator Rankings? This feature isn’t just about organizing names; it’s a means for players to:
Showcase their understanding of historical and legendary gladiators.
Dive into strategic discussions, as each rank reflects a gladiator’s skills and mythic qualities.
Share and compare rankings with the community, gaining recognition for their insight.
Shape the arena’s social landscape through community interaction and recognition.
This ranking system goes beyond traditional gaming elements, merging gameplay with cultural education. Players aren’t just ranking avatars — they’re preserving and honoring the spirit of real gladiators.
Breakdown of Key Features and Functionalities
1. Dynamic Ranking Categories and Their Significance
Each category within the Gladiator Rankings has its own significance, adding depth and meaning to the ranking process. Here’s a deeper look:
S Tier (Legendary Figures): The apex of legend, gladiators whose exploits still echo through history.
A Tier (Arena Elite): Top-class fighters who seek glory, building toward legendary status.
B Tier (Valiant Warriors): Proven in battle, their bravery and skill commendable.
C Tier (Honorable Fighters): Newer or less renowned, these gladiators still display admirable courage.
Each tier has its own visual elements, like distinct badges or icons, and descriptions that help players immerse themselves in the ancient world. These designations encourage players to think critically about each gladiator’s place in the grand hierarchy of the arena.
2. User Interface and Ranking Board Structure
The Gladiator Rankings interface was meticulously designed for ease of use, enabling players to quickly and seamlessly navigate the ranking process. Components include:
Drag-and-Drop System: For intuitive ranking, players can move gladiators across tiers with a simple drag-and-drop. This makes ranking flexible, as players can continuously adjust their boards as they refine their understanding of each gladiator’s prowess.
Search and Filter Options: Gladiators can be sorted by various traits like combat style, fame, historical significance, and weapon preference. This feature makes it easier to strategize while offering an organized ranking experience.
Category Descriptions and Legends: Each category’s significance is explained, helping users understand the “why” behind their rankings and encouraging informed, meaningful placements.
3. Publishing and Community Integration
After creating a ranking, players can add context by giving it a custom title and description. This option is crucial for adding personal insight, whether they’re honoring Spartacus as an S-tier legend or showcasing an unconventional perspective on lesser-known fighters.
Sharing Your Gladiator Rankings The social media integration on Gladiators Battle brings your Gladiator Rankings to a broader audience. With built-in sharing options, players can post directly to X (Twitter) or Facebook, inviting friends and followers to view and comment on their rankings. This feature is not only excellent for personal recognition but helps bring new members into the Gladiators Battle community, fostering a more extensive network of passionate players.
Community Engagement and Feedback Published rankings appear in the Gladiator Rankings leaderboard, which displays the most popular and top-rated rankings. Players can like and comment on each other’s rankings, creating a forum where community members debate and discuss each ranking’s validity and historical accuracy. High community engagement allows users to see their favorite rankings rise in popularity and even be spotlighted.
4. Like and Comment Component: Fostering a Community Spirit
To strengthen the community, a Like and Comment component was built into each ranking’s page. Players can express support for rankings they find insightful and leave feedback, sparking deeper discussions around gladiatorial lore. This feedback loop adds a social layer to the Gladiators Battle experience, connecting players with similar interests and insights.
5. Advanced Personalization for Dedicated Players
Future plans include implementing filters and additional customization, allowing users to rank based on specific gladiatorial traits like agility, strength, and charisma. Other features may involve:
Spotlight Rankings: Highlighting exceptional rankings each week to encourage creativity.
Leaderboard for Ranked Rankings: A feature where the most-liked and frequently engaged rankings are rewarded with visibility and special mentions.

"From childhood I was seen as …perhaps abnormal, due to my upbringings of poverty. Many assume when you're of the poorer part of society, you think a certain way or behave as if you are 'wild'. I was not raised by wolves thank you. Reputation…it's important. But, I won't change who I am to fit the standards others have unless only I see fit.
And for interests.....hmm..mother did have many tales from Ireland, of ghosts/witches and the like...always dabbled a little in the paranormal histories."

Laughter escapes to watch Visare leap right into rain puddles, attempting to clean his rifle of mud and crimson stains. His back against a lone tree.
“More like a dog than a horse...” he said with a small grin.
What he would give for more days like this...

Notes are jotted once more in his journal, far from prying eyes or...what he hoped was far enough away, inside his tent. Blasts of fireworks and bursts of light illuminate, causing a gentle smile to etch slowly across. While he was pleased to know of France’s union...it is preferred, for the lad he celebrate alone.
