🙏🛑Don't leave us, don't let us down, we still need you 🙏
First of all, I am Tahrir from Gaza, a mother of four children. I finished my university studies, majoring in computer information systems. I used to work at a university and in municipalities, but my life has been completely turned upside down. I will tell you the details.
The war started on Saturday, October 7, 2023, and the nightmare began.
Before that, our life was like heaven. We would go out for a walk, eat the best food, and live the best life.
But after that day, the nightmare began. War was declared on Gaza and the governorates were separated from each other.
My family lives in a governorate far from me, and my husband and I live in another governorate.
Communication with the Gaza Strip was completely cut off, whether internet or phone calls.
Anxiety began to enter my heart about the situation of my family. We began to hear bombing everywhere. Martyrs at every moment.
Terror and fear. We no longer knew how to sleep.
Food was cut off from us. The children began to suffer from hunger.
My husband began to go out in the middle of the night to look for bread and the sound of raids and bombing was everywhere.
Terror began to surround us, even when we decided to sleep.
Suddenly, a house next to us was bombed.
We could no longer sleep. The water was cut off. After that, every member of my husband’s family went out to look for anything.
One went out to look for bread, another for water, and another for gas. Everything was cut off.
We began the stage of cooking on fire. The price of firewood was very expensive.
Our bodies became weak and emaciated.
The situation continued like this for two months.
I do not know anything about my family, are they alive or They all died, but suddenly we heard on the radio that my family's governorate had received an evacuation order.
I started crying hysterically. I don't know if they died or not, but suddenly I learned that they had been displaced to a place near me.
I ran out quickly. It was the first time in two months that I had left my house. I saw destruction everywhere.
I started crying and screaming in the street when I saw scenes of destroyed houses, but I held myself back when I learned that I would see my family after two months of no news from them.
A new phase in our lives began. Displacement orders began to come from one place to another, and every place began to be a dangerous area where there was no safety.
I was displaced with my family to another place. We left our homes and learned that the occupation had destroyed them.
We started living in tents. In the summer, it was like hell.
Flies were everywhere, mosquitoes caused diseases for my children.
Skin diseases spread, but my biggest problem was when my little child was injured, and because of the lack of hospitals, no one knew what was wrong with him.
He was screaming loudly for two days, and in the end we found Doctors Without Borders and they diagnosed my child with a fracture in the pelvic area, and this fracture only affects the elderly, but because of malnutrition, my child was exposed to such a fracture.
He underwent an operation that lasted for two hours, and after that, a cast remained on his foot for more than two months, and after that he underwent physical therapy and still needs physical therapy.
The matter did not stop there, because of the dust and polluted air, my second child was exposed to a sinus operation, but the operation failed due to the lack of medicines and the poor location, and my child is still suffering until now.
In light of all this, we were displaced from one place to another, leaving everything behind us, leaving our tents, clothes, and everything. Then winter began, and things began to become truly catastrophic.
Our tents were just a tattered piece of cloth. When the rains began, our tents, mattresses, and everything we owned were flooded.
Not only that, my children were exposed to chest infections due to the severe cold, and the necessary medicine was not available to treat them.
Now they told us that the ceasefire is near, but what kind of life are we still living? Remember that we are still in tents, suffering from the cold, from diseases, from hunger, from the fear of breaking the truce, from everything.
We have become afraid. Please do not forget us with your donations and assistance. We still need you.
My children need every donation.
Remember that they are like the children of the world.
They need security, they need tenderness, they need to live like the children of the world. Please do not forget my children.
Donate what you can. Your donation means life for my children, it means rebuilding what was destroyed.
Tahreer
