Chapter XI of Muriel’s Route: Morga!

I know that Morga has been getting a lot of shit. And yes, it is justified. But I truly believe that there is more to her character than just an abusive woman. I think that she genuinely cared about Montag (Lucio), and is beginning to care about MC and Muriel.

Obviously, she wants MC and Muriel to be good fighters. Morga will only expect what she can expect. Morga is respecting Muriel’s decision to not fight MC with a blade, instead she lets him fight with a stick. I believe that she has a good reason to be so harsh. She sees the potentional that MC and Muriel have together. And she wants to feed it, and care for their natural abilities in her own way, so that they can be victorious.

The following dialogue is in response to “I’ll help you.”

Morga acknowledges MC’s power and ability. This is a compliment. I don’t think that Morga is the type of person to give out compliments, though this compliment is hidden under a derogatory comment, “the PUP has fangs”. I think that being nice and giving respect is a new concept to her.

I saw another post, I am not sure who posted it but they made a wonderful point. While, yes, Morga is abusive at times, does she know any better? She had grown up with “kill or be killed” conditions. She knew no better than fighting for survival and leading a whole tribe with almost no other help. Since Montag killed Papa, Morga had been on her own and it must have been very stressful knowing that her own son tried to carve out her own heart after his father’s.

All I’m saying is, maybe we should take into account Morga’s past as well. I believe that she loved Montag, but she truly does believe she failed as a parent. I believe that she failed to give Montag the love that he deserved as a child, and that’s why he collects so many animals, to fill the void. But I also believe that it wasn’t her fault. It was like 60% her fault, 40% Montag’s fault...

My explanation? Remember, Lucio’s patrón Arcana is the devil. Therefore, he is naturally greedy, full of pride, lust, rage, etc. He is the embodiment of sin and wrongdoing, especially GREED. To me, it only makes sense that no matter how Morga tried to raise Montag, he would still end up to be this ruthless, greedy count.

This can be backed up by something the devil said in the second chapter of Nadia’s reversed ending. Also, I have a lot of concerns because I see a parallel between Morga and the devil... lets see if you can spot it.

Morga and the Devil both called MC “pup”.

The Devil actively shows greed, and his desire to have MC. I don’t want to spoil Nadia’s reversed ending... so that’s all I’m gonna say about it.

Lucio... is also hella greedy. No matter what, the Devil was going to come after Lucio some way or another!

I believe that there is way more to Morga than the devs are letting on. There have been subtle hints... what if somehow the Devil manipulated Morga into bringing MC and Muriel down into the south? What if the Devil wants something? What if the Devil wants MC like how he wanted them in Nadia’s reversed ending?

Also, don’t you find it a bit ironic how they ran into Vuglora AND Valdemar, and neither of them seemed to be shocked? Perhaps the Devil planned this... almost like how he “planned” what happened in Nadia’s reversed ending...
