Vampire knight 2
Male reader - fluff - angst - omegaverse
(name) was a wanderer.
So that's why the night class made a form of buddy system when they went to town, the Omega currently holding hands with Ruka and looking at all the shops, many of the alphas getting (name) gifts in an attempt to court him but the Omega just thought they were being good friends and accepted the gifts.
(Name) made his weekly stop at the candy store, the owners used to the night class at this point and greeted them politely as they watched (name) grab multiple bags and stock up on candy, he didn't like different candies touching.
The night class got a few things, nowhere on the scale of (name) who had six full bags of candy totalling to 208.13 dollars but the Omega was happy none the less as he was transferred to Ichigo who let the Omega drag him around.
It happened again.
Though this time he was indoors.
The smell of sweets caught his attention as he wandered into a room, seeing day students making baked goods "oh? Hello!" One of the students said happily, a fellow Omega and (name) looked at the cake she held in her hands with an intensely one would not expect "would you like some?" She asked as the other students cooed at the night student who nodded "please and thank you"
The baking/cooking club got him a slice and something to drink and even joined him "So what's the night class like? I couldn't imagine being up all night" one of them asked, a beta with a short bob (name) noted to himself "I'm used to it..." (Name) mumbled "what is this?"
"This is the culinary club!"
"Culinary club?"
"Yeah we make food and stuff!" Another said and (name)s looked interested "are you interested in joining?"
(Name) wasn't sure if he could but accepted an application none the less.
"Culinary club?" Kaname read the club application with an unreadable expression and (name) held a to-go container with cake "is this just so you can get sweets?" Ichigo asked with a sweet smile and (name) thought "they were nice..." He said simply and the others smiled at this but also... (Name) was precious cargo.
He was a vampire yes and could hold himself but the alphas of the night class were incredibly protective and territorial of the Omega.
And they didn't need someone like (name) being contaminated with... humans.
He wasn't a pureblood but he was a male Omega so he was held to the same regard.
"No" Kaname said simply and (name) deflated visibly, he liked the nice humans in the culinary club; they made nice conversation and fed him.
(Name) was silent as he nodded and left with his cake, he wanted to talk to his new friends more...
(Name) returned to the culinary club.
Kaname never said he couldn't visit.
"It sucks you can't join but we love having you here!" They said as they put cookies on a plate and let (name) eat the treats.
The club never really knew much about the night class, they kind of avoided the club centered around them though they did find them pretty.
(Name) was cute but in a "I want to protect you" sense as his cheeks puffed from the amount of food he was eating.
"He went to the club" Kaname said with a tone unrecognizable and the room was cold "Senri"
"Of course Lord Kaname"
Shiki hated that he had to take (name) away from this, he was clearly enjoying himself and making friends but Lord Kanames word was final.
"(Name)" (name) halted and tilted his head in confusion "guess it's time for you to go" one of the members said saidly and (name) stood and bid his goodbyes "he's quite upset with you"
"But I didn't join the club?"
"But you went back"
The night class dorms were quiet as Kaname sat at on an ornate couch "leave us" Kaname instructs before standing and walking to the Omega "I said you couldn't join" Kaname said calmly, an icy undertone to it and (name) looked frustrated "but you didn't say I couldn't go back" (name) argued and Kaname tilted his head "if you go back you will be punished"
"But I enjoyed it" (name) rarely spoke this much and Kaname wished it wasn't because he was arguing with him and Kaname could see the sleepy vampire grow frustrated "What if I asked Yuuki to join me?"
"Don't inconvenience her"
(Name) felt frustrated and unheard, he didn't understand why this was such an issue.
They all got to do what they desired so why couldn't (name) have this?
(Name) was silent for the rest of the night, fuming and the others (excluding Kaname) could understand his frustrations but they also knew how risky it could be having their pack Omega out by himself.
(Name) ripped apart his closet as he began making a nest in it, his Omega sensing the distress and deciding that he needed to be somewhere safe as his collar was thrown somewhere.
The sensation was frustrating him further.
When his nest was complete he crawled in, snuggling in a blanket and got comfortable as he began zoning out, the anger exhausting him further.
"He's nesting" Rima said after checking on (name), holding his collar "his heat isn't for another three weeks though?" Aido asked confused as (name) only remade his nest before his heat "I think I know why" Ruka sighed, Lord Kaname stepped out for a meeting with the headmaster and thus they were left to handle what he did "his Omega is distressed" she said worried on (name)s behalf as the two were quite close.
Kaname raised an eyebrow as a group of day students walked to the night dorms with containers "oh! Kuran!" One of the girls said politely "we haven't seen (name) in a while and Aido said he had a cold so we brought him some things to make him feel better, could you give these to him?" One of them asked and Kaname put on a smile "I will, thank you for being so considerate" though he didn't particularly care for them or their gestures.
He didn't like how close they seemed to think they were to (name).
(Name) hadn't eaten in two days (snacks not included) nor had he left his room, missing classes in the process.
Kaname stood in front of the closet annoyed, he was tired of the omegas tantrums and childish behaviour "it's time for this to stop" Kaname commanded only to get no reply, the brunette opening the door to find it... Empty?
Zero wasn't sure what to do.
Yes this was a vampire but this was also a feral distressed Omega.
(Name) clung to the silver haired alpha for safety, deeming the night dorms unsafe due to stress.
So now Zero had an Omega without a collar in a night gown holding him in a death grip as he walked to the headmasters office.
"Oh shut up" his mentor, Yuuki and Cross all giggled at the sight as he now sat with (name) and VERY begrudgingly let the Omega play with his hair.
"I think he think your his pup" Toga said taking a sip from his drink "how do we fix... This?"
"Well normally we would get the omegas alpha or family involved but seeing as he has neither we would get whomever is currently watching over him"
And that was technically Ruka at this moment and when word got out on (name)s whereabouts, the others followed.
See Zero wasn't normally petty but seeing Kaname and the other alphas in the night class seethe at the fact (name) was cuddling zero to his chest and playing with his hair and all but hissing at them was fucking hilarious to him. If looks could kill Zero would be dead.
"(Name) come here" Kaname instructs the Omega "he's not a dog asshole" Zero didn't know why he was defending (name) but Kaname was treating (name) like he was some dog misbehaving and not a stressed out Omega "why is (name) like this?" Yuuki asked and Aido sighed "he wanted to join the culinary club or at least visit"
"And why couldn't he?"
Toga hated vampires but during his time teaching the night class he had come to understand that (name) was harmless, he really just wanted to sleep and occasionally steal pens.
"It's dangerous for an Omega like himself to be out like that"
"And you guys couldn't go with him? It's a pretty fucking reasonable request" Zero said and Cross scolded him for swearing "what about the fangirls? They literally tried attacking him"
"We could arrange him an escort" Cross said simply and Kaname was frustrated "he's not joining"
"God you're insufferable, no wonder he left"
Kanames eyes shifted and the room went cold as he took Zero as a challenge for (name) "you treat him like he's property to you when he's not, he belongs to no one"
It shocked the others at the fact that someone like zero, someone whose been so hurt by vampire's would be defending one but he couldn't help it, out of all of them (name) was the least threatening.
Did he want a vampire near humans? No absolutely not.
But did he want to piss off Kaname? Oh most definitely.
Kaname didn't want to harm (name).
He couldn't.
He couldn't and wouldn't hurt his future mate.
"(Name) is a student here and it's his right if he wants to join a club under supervision he's welcome to"
Kaname seethed silently and (name) recognized in his lizard brain that Kaname was a pack mate and seeing him so upset made him whine and Kaname snapped his attention back to him and decided to take this from another approach.
Kaname pumped out pharamones that got (name)s attention, using the omegas subconscious need to mediate and calm their packmates to his advantage.
Everyone watched as (name) got up and walked into Kanames arms to try and calm the pack alpha down and Kaname lifted him and walked out.
"Well that happened" Cross said simply and the night class bid their farewells to the headmaster and others before following the two, (name) still feral but at least letting Kaname remotely near him, Kaname passive as he let (name) scent him as they returned to the dorms.
He supposed he could let (name)... Occasionally visit this club if it meant he didn't do whatever this was.
Kaname abused this time with (name), bringing him to his room and holding him close and felt (name) nip at his neck, (name) hadn't eaten in days after all.
'he will be my mate after all...' Kaname was deadset on romancing (name) as he tilted his neck and guided (name) who nosed at his neck before biting, clearly hungry as he clung to him.
Shame (name) probably wouldn't remember this , the omegas memory was always hazy after he went feral.
When (name) finished there was blood staining his lips and be looked not unlike when he ate that birthday cake.
"Messy..." Kaname said cleaning (name) up with his shirt, (name) was ready to sleep and practically out cold in his arms.
Getting up Kaname changed in his clothes and pretended they were in the grand bed back home mated and expecting.

Choose Your Legends 8 ended with lots of surprises, and it's time to celebrate!
I've seen concerning amounts of salt and bashing on the games involved or not, so this will be a positive post! I'm tired of the fandom's dumb takes and toxicity so let's praise everyone for the amazing scores and stories that unfolded during this vote!
First let's start with the link to all the official CYL art since Year 1 of FEH, enjoy the trip down memory lane!
https://fire-emblem-heroes.com/fr/sp/illustrations/
(I nabbed that chibi Soren right away, bless Kita Senri)
CYL 8 Male winners:
🥇1: Alfonse | A beautifully deserved win for our well-written OC lord who keeps the story of Heroes entertaining with his crazy one-liners and unhinged plans, with more tender moments with his family and friends to soften him. I hope we get to see him grown-up like Legendary Veronica.
🥈2: Felix | I love seeing non-lord characters emerge from the voting. His voters have shown their supports 4 years in a row and it paid off! Especially nice win because Felix has been shafted by IS with a silly seasonal and an ok god-sword pre-TS unit.
CYL 8 Female winners:
🥇1: Bernadetta | Just like Felix, her voters lost to circumstances (aka the surprise Gullveig sweep), so I'm glad for them! Plus her post-TS personality should force the writers to tone down the moe nervous trait that flanderizes her character.
🥈2: Female Robin | She's finally free to be in the common summoning pool as herself, not Grima! She has too few alts to her name, and she marks the first time both genders of an avatar have won CYL, so good job!
About the Engage non-sweep, don't get disheartened! The votes for Engage were equal to Three Houses, but they were split between A LOT of fan favourites for both genders, while the FE3H fans rallied one last time for 1 male and 1 female representation, without competition from their lords. It's a respectable result, and the bashing on Engage is disingenuous and undeserved.
I've seen the top 5 from each game and I'm happy to see Finn up there for Thracia and Mae for Echoes. I hope to see Linoan soon, and other alts for Berkut and Rinea. People rallied for Athos to get in the game already, for Lloyd to have new art, for Seth and Titania to get the stats they deserve...
Fan favourites like Lyon or the Black Knight still score high. Azura received love. Even Elincia who's already been very lucky in 2023 got in the top for PoR and RD! I love to see people rally for a Sentinel Nephenee too.
We continue to see Leo and Takumi side by side, chilling in the male top 20 like BFFs. It's adorable.
This CYL8 follows in the steps of CYL7 with no main lords, only favourites and avatars.
Next year I hope to see Jugdral and Elyos win, but for now I'm happy with the 4 we have 🥰
#feh#fe heroes#cyl8#positivity#fire emblem#The salt I see for top 20 characters is pathetic#It's fine if Engage doesn't win year 1 guys...#But the Engage/Three Houses bashing needs to stop#Be happy for the Felix and Bernie fans who are finally free#Fucking be nice to each other we're all nerds here

You’re Mine; Don’t Forget That - Chapter 2
“Sorry for that… Our captain is a major pain in the ass on a good day,” Suzuran apologized as the two girls walked down the Frostheim corridor, the hall empty due to it being nearly lunchtime.
“No, it's okay! Thank you so much for your help,” the honor student said, dipping into a grateful bow.
“You're such a cutie! Jin seriously has no eye for good women,” Suzuran bemoaned, a hand to the crease on her brow as she sighed.
“Y-you flatter me…” the honor student stammered shyly, a shaky smile on her face a sign of just how shaken up she was from the earlier encounter.
“...Don't mind him. He sounds like he has a body or two in his basement, but he's never gone through with his threats… mostly. Still, it would be best if you steer clear of him, Miss…” Suzuran trailed off as she realized that she didn't remember the honor student’s name.
“Oh, I'm sorry for the late introduction! My name’s Yurika Senri, but you can just call me Yurika,” Yurika introduced herself, a hand to her heart with a bright, more relaxed smile.
“A beautiful name for a beautiful soul. I'm Suzuran Fujiai; it's a pleasure to make your acquaintance,” Suzuran said, a hand lifting the edge of her skirt as she lightly curtsied.
“Fuji…ai?” Yurika echoed, her train of thought comically clear to Suzuran.
“No, I'm not related to Kaito Fuji, although our last names are similar,” the older woman laughed. “You two are friends, no? I think I saw him with you after the entrance ceremony.”
“Yes! He's been very kind to me, even though I caused a lot of trouble for him,” Yurika said, her eyes downcast in guilt.
“Trust me, that man would go through hell and back for a pretty lady like you. Accept his goodwill with an open heart,” Suzuran insisted, heartily patting Yurika on the back.
“If you say so… Oh, I should probably head back to the staffroom to report to Professor Dante,” Yurika realized, her eyes widened in panic as she remembered her initial mission.
“He knows how this lot can get, so he probably won't give you much grief. If anything, tell him that you know me; that should be enough to placate him,” Suzuran reassured her, then dug her phone out of her pocket. “By the way, wanna exchange contact info? I’d like to think that I'm pretty knowledgeable about the Academy, so feel free to hit me up whenever you need help or just want a familiar face to chat with,” she offered with a smile.
“I would love to!” Yurika exclaimed, her face lighting up as she dug out her phone. After the two women exchanged numbers, they bid farewell to each other and parted ways - Yurika with a notable skip to her step.
“Now then, I guess that I can get a little healing done before heading to lunch,” Suzuran murmured to herself as she leisurely stretched, her lower spine satisfyingly popping in place. Straightening her blazer with a huff, her brisk steps turned her towards the Jabberwock Safari.
.·:*¨༺ ༻¨*:·.
“Are you just the cutest little fluffy baby in the world?! Yes you are, you adorable fluffball, you! Gimme some snuggles, precious baby girl~” Suzuran squealed as she glomped an adult Peekaboo, sighing in pure bliss as she ran her fingers through her soft fur. “You're such a cutie! Who's my cute little baby~? You, that's who! Awww, you're so soft and snuggly~”
“If it isn't my number one customer! Here to check up on Mama Peekaboo, eh?” a cheerful voice called out from behind the blissful woman, and she reluctantly peeled her face from her sanctuary to gaze hazily at the approaching redhead.
“Haru! Great work taking care of the safari, as usual,” she complimented, straightening up and trying but failing to brush off the white Peekaboo fur clinging to her uniform.
“It's my one joy in life, after all!” Haru exclaimed cheerfully as he reached over to pat the Mama Peekaboo. “You're a right spoiled lil’ bugger, Mamaboo.”
“She's just being treated like the queen she is, ri~ght?” Suzuran trilled as she nuzzled her face into Mamaboo's soft belly fur. “I would commit national crimes if Mamaboo gets even a chipped nail,” she vowed when she came up for air.
“Gahaha! That'd put me in a pickle if my best customer got put in the slammer,” Haru lamented, a dramatically horrified expression on his face.
“Who said I would get caught?” Suzuran asked with a scarily straight face, and a cold drop of sweat trickled down Haru's forehead at her words. “Anyways! Was my last donation enough to repair the pasture anomalies’ fence?” she asked, quickly changing the subject.
“More than! There was even enough left over to expand the feed fields a few acres,” Haru replied cheerfully, a sparkle in his eyes. “You're the savior goddess of the safari! I honestly can't ever repay this debt.”
“Don't worry about it! Money is best used for the things you love rather than sit rotting in a bank account,” Suzuran said dismissively, running a hand through Mamaboo's fur. “Besides, having free access to all the fluffy healing I could ever need is more than enough to make up for a few digital numbers.”
“With a scary captain like yours, I don't blame ya. How about it? Put any more thought into transferring?” Haru asked hopefully, his hands clasped in front of him.
“Tempting, but I'd have to refuse. There’s… a reason why I can't leave Frostheim,” Suzuran shook her head with an apologetic smile. “I hope that won't keep me from being able to frequent here?”
“Of course not! No matter what house you belong to, a kindred soul is always welcome. Sorry to put you in an awkward position,” Haru apologized sheepishly, scratching the back of his head.
“It's all right. Oh, and about the worn saddles-” Suzuran paused as she felt her phone vibrate in her pocket. “Sorry, give me a second,” she said as she scanned the text, her expression instantaneously souring. “Hypocritical bitch…” she muttered under her breath before tucking the device away, forcing a bright smile to her face. “Duty calls! I'll catch you guys later,” she said, planting one last kiss onto Mamaboo's furry head.
“O-oh, all right! Stay safe,” Haru waved goodbye, confused yet used to Suzuran's abrupt retreats from her sanctuary. No matter what she was doing, as soon as she saw a certain text on her phone she always dropped everything to leave. He never questioned it… but he hoped that nothing bad came from those three words flashing on her screen.
My room. Now.
.·:*¨༺ ༻¨*:·.
Deep breaths. Don't sock him in the face as soon as you see him, no matter how tempting it may be. Come on, you can do this, Suzuran! Just focus on his handsome face and ignore everything else, Suzuran told herself as she stopped in front of familiar cerulean doors, both hands on the handles but not yet applying pressure.
Yet another sigh weighed her down at the thought of facing the captain after their spat. It wasn't rare for them to butt heads, but it was a bit strange for her to be this worked up. This wasn't the first time Jin kicked her out of his room only to summon her back, and it certainly wouldn't be the last, but there was something about the way his glare seemed more… vicious than normal.
Vindictive.
Well, nothing would move forward if she stayed put; fortune favors the bold. With one last inhale and hold, she pushed open the heavy doors.
It was pitch black.
Only the faintest of light dared to creep into the shadowy room from the hallway, and even that faded away when the doors slammed shut behind Suzuran. Frostheim's dorms were often described as an ice castle, but this was the first time she truly felt the chill penetrating through her blazer. Tiny needles pricked the nape of her neck as she walked further in, the muffled thump of her padded heels against the marbled floor swallowed up by the void before her.
“Jin, I'm truly convinced that you've embraced your identity as a vampire. Why the hell is it so dark in here?” Suzuran asked, her voice a bit louder than normal in order to fill the uncomfortable silence. Not even a grunt of annoyance followed her words, a foreboding chill settling into her stomach at the unfamiliarity of the situation.
I've never liked the dark.
“Jin? Whether you like it or not, I'm opening those curtains. One of us actually likes having a field of vision,” she warned, a hand reached out in front of her as she searched for any sort of purchase.
Silence.
A heartbeat.
Two.
A breath that she vaguely registered as her own.
“...Jin?”
Suzuran hated the slight quiver in her voice. She loathed the way her pinkie finger trembled even as the rest of her body remained under perfect control. She despised the way she was reminded of a truth she spent 3 years trying to turn into a lie.
Fuck you and your entire bloodline, Kamurai.
Just as her knee collided with what she assumed was the couch in the middle of the room, she felt familiar calloused fingers grab her arm and yank her down, her stomach left behind as she fell against a warm, firm chest. One heartbeat became two, two became four, and a pair of breaths intermingled within close proximity.
“What the fuck did that woman do to you?” Jin's raspy voice demanded into her ear, sending a shiver down her spine at the vibrations ringing into the shell of her ear.
“I haven't the foggiest what you mean,” Suzuran replied smoothly as she recovered unnaturally fast from the shock, trying and failing to push herself up. A veined hand kept an iron grip on her wrist, the other anchoring her waist against his stomach. Suzuran's long hair curtained the two young adults away from the rest of the world.
“Cut the crap. You might’ve been able to fool Tohma, but I’m not as dense as he is. That woman did something to you with that enhancement of hers,” Jin growled, his grip almost painful against her skin.
“You knew about her,” Suzuran said, a statement rather than a question. Jin loved to play the unmotivated, useless captain, but there was seldom a fact to run unnoticed by his ears.
Curse his perceptiveness.
Even with their close proximity, Suzuran couldn't make out his expression; however, she could feel the burn of his icy eyes against her skin, the angry pulse of his heart passing from his wrist to hers, and the momentary lapse in his breath as he made a split decision.
“Is she resurfacing?” Jin asked instead, those three words freezing her blood like an avalanche.
No.
No, he couldn't have noticed.
Instead of answering him, Suzuran ripped her arm away from his grip, not even blinking at the sharp pain originating from his nails catching against her skin. Her free hand pulled her hair away from her face, the shadows sufficient to hide her expression. A mirthless chuckle rattled through her dry lungs as she sat up, straddling his stomach as her left hand fell towards the right side of his waist.
“Captain, that's a terrible joke even for you,” she murmured, her husky voice rasped like sandpaper against her own ears, catching against nonexistent barbs in her throat. “This is why you’re still single, you know?” she teased, dainty fingers tracing light hearts against the fabric of Jin's shirt, drifting down and down and even lower so.
His silence irritated her - he knew that she hated silence - and the fact that he didn’t try to stop her was a provocation still.
Her thumb hooking through a belt loop, she tugged at it as the rest of her fingers dipped into his pocket and snatched his lighter. Freeing her thumb, she tossed the polished metal from her left hand to her right, flicking it open with practiced ease.
The tiny flame flickering to life was just enough to illuminate Jin's unreadable expression and Suzuran's lopsided, provocative smirk.
“Can I open those curtains yet? It would be such a terrible shame if my hand slipped and dropped this lighter,” she purred.
“Stop fucking around and answer the damn question,” Jin sighed, his hand reaching up to snag the lighter from her hand. “You would rather dance on a bed of coals than let me have the last word, yet you retreated with a pathetically weak challenge. Your infallible mask cracked, Ran, and it was that damn woman's fault. The question is: what did she do?”
Suzuran sucked in a breath at the sound of her nickname, one that was so seldomly used that she almost forgot it existed.
Fuck you, Jin.
He knew exactly how to weaken her, how to get exactly what he wanted to know from that stubborn mouth of hers. Who knew that Suzuran Fujiai, the temptress Liaison of Frostheim, was susceptible to a bit of pleading (could it even be called that?) from the infamously icy Captain of Frostheim?
She did, that's fucking who.
“That… ring of hers. The Sage's Ring. I underestimated its power,” Suzuran admitted quietly, her head lowering as her hair fell to shield her face. “I felt her voice in my head, my heart… I got her under control in time, but the incident from three years ago was dangerously close to repeating itself. I guess that I just didn't have the energy to deal with your bullshit after that,” she snarked at the end, hiding her vulnerable eyes with a teethy grin.
Sapphire eyes speckled with flickering molted gold studied her, his brow creased in thought. After a few seconds his shoulders heaved with a huge sigh, and a heavy arm wrapped around her waist while the other put the lighter away, plunging them into darkness once more. “Whatever. Lay down; I'm going to sleep.”
“Insomnia again?” Suzuran murmured, scooting down a bit before stretching herself across Jin's sturdy body, her ear to his steady heart, a hand on his chest, and her legs entangled with his. A grunt of affirmation vibrated into her body, and she nodded in understanding.
Lilium.
A breathy whisper laden with innate power echoed into the dark room, and the temperature seemed to rise a few degrees until the chill was counteracted with a cozy warmth. Suzuran's eyes radiated a faint glow as her irises reshaped into ruby hearts, her canines sharpening into small points like those of a vampire. A gentle hand rose up to trace the contour of Jin's jaw, and she tilted her head to press a small kiss against the crook of his neck.
Amidst the rough intake of his breath, Suzuran uttered a quiet “Sleep,” a foggy haze seeming to descend over his eyes. His limbs were crafted from lead, his head stuffed with cotton, his eyes nearly impossible to keep open.
As Suzuran’s hums facilitated the influence of her Stigma, Jin forced his lips apart to give her one last warning.
“Don't use your Stigma… on any other bastard out there.”

𝔖𝔢𝔫𝔯𝔦 𝔖𝔥𝔦𝔨𝔦
He is an aristocrat, a model, and one of the youngest Night Class students. Later on, it is revealed that he is the illegitimate son of Rido Kuran and through that the cousin of Kaname and Yuki. Shiki's last name is a combination of shi, meaning "to support" and ki, meaning "mallow"--a flowering plant with pink or white blossoms. The ri in Senri is a traditional Japanese unit of measure for distance, and one ri is about 2.44 miles. Senri means "1,000 RI." Shiki possesses a personality similar to that of Rima Toya. He is usually impassive and often detached to the rest of the vampires except for Rima and Ichijo. He rarely expresses emotion and may seem like he doesn't care about his surroundings. Because of his reserved nature, he keeps to himself and never has much to say, but when he does, he can be very blunt with his comments. When the Night Class is given orders to hunt down a Level E vampire, Shiki is usually the one hunting them. He and Rima both share a love for Pocky, often seen sharing it when they are together; she feeds it to him as if he is a child. Like all other vampires, Shiki does not like to be under the sun and can often be seen walking around with Rima under her parasol in daylight. Laidback to the point of seeming apathetic, Senri does not have much of an interest in anything and possesses little motivation, although he is responsible for his modeling career and duties. A follower by nature, he became quite attached to Takuma Ichijo – a natural leader, who was always prompting him to try new things. Because of his mother’s mental illness, Senri learned to become a quiet ‘doll’ who didn’t cause trouble or make her worry. He seems to think little of himself and lets people use him, prompting his friend Rima Toya to encourage him to stand up for himself more. After being possessed by his father, Rido Kuran, and being used to hurt people he cares about, including Rima, Senri does begin to stand up and fight for himself and appears less apathetic afterward.

Hsing-Hsing - Day 113
Race: Beast
Alignment: Neutral-Neutral
September 25th, 2024
Chinese mythology is filled with strange and obscure creatures. We've already gone over Senri this week, of course, but that's only scratching the tip of the iceberg, near which a seafaring monkey sails. Japanese mythology and how it takes a lot from Chinese mythology is also of note here in the strange tale of that monkey, one with a red face, a love of booze, and who can speak human tongue. Today's Demon of the Day is Hsing-Hsing, also known in Japanese as Shōjō, a monkey sea spirit from Chinese myth.
Interestingly, most of the knowledge on Hsing-Hsing comes from the Japanese interpretation of the creature- Hsing-Hsing is the Chinese reading of 猩猩, though it can also be read in Japanese as Shōjō. Frustratingly, 猩猩 was also the name of the most famous panda in the world, meaning that most of the sources I can actually work off of talk about the story in primarily Japanese. According to the Dai-ji-sen, the biggest current Japanese dictionary, 猩々is the reading of 猩猩 in Japanese, meaning Shōjō, which is a joint word that is commonly associated both with Orangutans and drunks, likely being due to the red face that many monkeys have, specifically in the form of the Japanese macaque. When a person is drunk, they also typically have a red face due to facial flushing induced by alcohol intake, meaning they may look like a macaque- at least, that's the reason for it that I can glean.
Etymology aside, Hsing-Hsing is, mythologically speaking, a sea spirit who takes the form of one such monkey, one who partakes in his fair share of booze. Described as a monkey who walks upright like a human, and whose name means 'Live-lively,' the Sheng-Sheng is purportedly an older version of the Hsing-Hsing, who evolved from the Sheng-Sheng as time went on into the figure we know today. As time went on, the Hsing-Hsing was then adapted into Japanese mythology through what were probably the same reasons that Senri and Shiisaa were, turning into the Shōjō. This is where our first concrete myth about the monkey comes in, as this is the only major story I can actually find referencing the Hsing-Hsing- a Japanese tale called White Sake, as well as a Chinese tale that I'll recount quickly below that came before.
As the legend goes, there was a Chinese man who loved to drink, visiting the main character, Kofu, in his establishment. The odd part was, the man never seemed to get drunk. Kofu decided to finally ask the man who he was, and he explained that he was a shōjō. Delighted by the patronage, Kofu eventually went down to visit the shōjō by the seaside, offering as much sake as the spirit could want, and the two became very close. The shōjō eventually thanked Kofu for his time and gifts, gave him a bottomless bottle of sake, and left. While this seems to have only been the original plot of the story, it was later adapted into a full Noh play.
Now, as for White Sake, the Japanese story goes as follows: a man was addicted to his sake, to the point he couldn't go a day without it. Unfortunately for him, at the beginning of the story, Mt. Fuji appeared! Sick and taken away from his drinks, the man, named Yurine, was distraught and, as he slowly withered from his illness, he asked his son, Koyuri, to get him one last drink before the end. As time went on and Koyuri got lost, unable to find any sake, he eventually found, what else, but a group of shōjō partying it up at the beachside. He ran up to the group of spirits and pleaded with them for some sake, and they delivered. Ecstatic, the kid went back to his father and gave him the drink, which seemed to actually help his illness as well as being the best sake he had ever tasted.
As time went on and Yurine slowly recovered, their neighbor, Mamikiko, caught wind of this. Also a drunk, the man went up and forced Koyuri to give him some of the booze, though it tasted horribly bitter to him. Eventually, he found his way to the shōjō himself and asked what was up, to which the group explained that, while their sake couldn't cure diseases, it could give long life and heal those who drink it, but only if they were pure of heart. Yurine was a simple and humble man who was poor but provided for his son to the best of his ability, while Mamikiko was a horrible drunk, and so one was able to enjoy it while the other couldn't. In fact, those who were evil of heart would instead get poisoned by the sake, and that caused Mamikiko to drop.
Soon, the man pleaded and said that he would change his ways, and the shōjō relented, giving him an antidote under the promise that he truly would. As time went on, Mamikiko became friends with Koyuri, and the two became partners, going on to live 300 years due to the power of the sake together. I didn't expect this to end with a gay love story, but whatever, all's well that ends well! Hsing-Hsing were likely the same story as the shōjō, being sea spirits that would offer booze to those who were good of heart, and so we tie a neat little bow on all of this.
In SMT, Hsing-Hsing's design is a perfect encapsulation of the entire concept, being a drunk and jovial seafaring monkey drinking some booze. There's not much else to go over here, but still, it's an incredibly interesting topic, and I find it so curious how so many Japanese myths originate from what are effectively remixes on Chinese mythology.

Loyalty
Characters: Kagaya and Amane Ubuyashiki
Warning: Male characters,Spoiler, mention of death, mention of suicide.
Hey, dear ones, a little story I wrote while I was away, just so you wouldn’t be left with nothing while I work on the Boothill fanfic
Theme: angst
This work was originally written by me in Portuguese, and I translated it using Google Translator, so I apologize for any translation errors
Summary:Loyalty, such a strong word… Well, [name] didn’t know why he was loyal, but he only knew that he was loyal to the Ubuyashiki family
Loyalty A powerful word... But what does it mean to be loyal to someone? How far can someone go in loyalty to another person? Why would someone be loyal to another without loyalty to themselves?
[Name] didn’t know the answers to these questions. But he knew one thing: he was loyal to the Ubuyashiki family. The reason? He didn’t know why. Was it out of obligation? Or maybe a feeling of debt? He wasn’t sure. He knew he’d been saved as a child by the former leader of the Demon Slayers.
Was that when the feeling of indebtedness began? But could that really be the reason?
Even as a child, he knew he didn’t deserve to be saved; he should have died with his clan out of honor... It wasn’t fair for only him to survive; he had one duty, and he failed at it. He should have been loyal to his clan, which meant he should have... He should have died protecting his clan... Shouldn’t he? Since that’s what he was taught... He remembers only fragments from those days, but one thing is clear: his clan was attacked by an oni, and a Hashira saved him. Right after he was rescued, he was brought to the master... This master helped him, but [Name] didn’t want any help, didn’t feel he needed help—his life no longer had meaning with his clan gone, with nothing left to protect. Seeing the boy’s state, the former leader of the Demon Slayers gave [Name] a new purpose so that he might feel the desire to live again.
A new reason to fight, a new reason to live... To protect the Ubuyashiki family... To be loyal to the Ubuyashiki family.
From that day, he lived with the Ubuyashiki, becoming one of the few who knew the location of their mansion. It was in those days that he learned everything about the truth of the demons and the Demon Slayers. He has to admit, he was confused at first, as he had thought demons were only legends. As time went on, he grew close to the Ubuyashiki family. He came to know the master and his wife. And it was then that he met the master’s three children.
Akito Ubuyashiki... The youngest of the three siblings. Because of their age gap, [Name] didn’t grow very close to him, so he doesn’t remember much about the young boy, only that he was a very gentle child.
Senri Ubuyashiki... The middle son, known for his strong personality. [Name] recalls him being quite rebellious, often refusing to obey his father’s rules. And lastly, the eldest son of the family.
Kagaya Ubuyashiki. Kagaya was the one [Name] grew closest to, perhaps because they were similar in age or maybe because of his calm, gentle personality. All [Name] knows is that he always preferred to spend time with him over anyone else in the Ubuyashiki family. Whether they were talking... Or Kagaya reading a book to [Name] Or simply enjoying each other’s company. [Name] cherished those moments deeply. And so [Name]'s life continued this way, at least for a short period of time. Being loyal to the Ubuyashiki family wasn’t so bad. They didn’t treat him as something to be used; they treated him as a normal person.
But, unfortunately, a series of tragedies struck...
Sadly, the leader of the Demon Slayers couldn’t withstand the weight of his role as leader; he couldn’t bear the burden of so many deaths, and, tragically, he took his own life. [Name] never judged him for that decision, understanding that the role of leading the Demon Slayers was not an easy task, one that few could endure. After his death, as the eldest son, Kagaya Ubuyashiki assumed his father’s position as leader of the Demon Slayer Corps. Despite his young age, he had to bear the burden of becoming the master.
Yet, after this tragedy, things only worsened. Senri Ubuyashiki, the rebellious son, spiraled further down after his father’s suicide. His mental state declined to the point where he made a choice—one that, tragically, resulted in three deaths. Senri Ubuyashiki decided to commit suicide, but not alone; he forced his younger brother to be a part of it, thinking it would free them both from the curse of being born into this doomed family. So, Senri set their house on fire, intending for them both to die in the flames. Their mother, in a desperate attempt to save her beloved sons, entered the burning house but, sadly, perished in the flames.
She died as a mother, a mother protecting her children.
Once again, history repeated itself... the family [Name] had sworn to protect lay in ruins, just like his own clan.
The family to whom he had pledged loyalty, just as he had to his clan, was now in ashes. Why did he have to swear loyalty to something that wouldn’t last? What’s the meaning of it all? But fortunately, there was at least one survivor from the tragedy. Kagaya Ubuyashiki, the sole survivor of the Ubuyashiki family. Even as a child at the time, Kagaya remained resilient. Despite the grief of losing his family, he stood strong. And [Name] stayed by his side, for he was still loyal to the Ubuyashiki family.
Over the years, many things changed, yet, in many ways, they remained the same. Kagaya still serves as the leader of the Demon Slayer Corps. But Kagaya's illness began to show its first signs. He maintained his calming presence, and [Name] remained loyal to the family, with his primary purpose being to protect Kagaya. With time, he and [Name] grew very close, sharing a deeply intimate friendship. They had only each other to confide their burdens.
Then, a new person joined their lives: Amane Himorogi, who would later become known as Amane Ubuyashiki. Amane was gentle, and both [Name] and Kagaya grew very fond of her. And so, this unique bond formed—one that connected these three people through a shared feeling. Now, the three lived in the same house, with Amane and [Name] helping Kagaya in his work however they could.
Around this time, at Kagaya’s suggestion, [Name] joined the Demon Slayer Corps and soon became a Hashira, the same position held by the man who saved him years before. However, before becoming a Demon Slayer, he made one thing clear:
he was not loyal to the Demon Slayer Corps. He was loyal to the Ubuyashiki family. Protecting the Ubuyashiki family was his main priority. He joined only because it was his master’s request.
As a Hashira, he began taking on missions, which kept him away from Kagaya and Amane for periods of time. But he never stayed away for too long—after all, how could he protect them from afar?
And so this dynamic continued for a period of time, until Amane became pregnant and gave birth to quintuplets: Hinaki, Nichika, Kiriya, Kanata, and Kuina. Beautiful children that the three of them cared for with love and affection. As time passed, [Name] stopped traveling frequently for missions as a Hashira, only going for quick missions or when absolutely necessary. Now he had to help Amane with the children. [Name] enjoyed playing with the kids. It was fun... But he also had to help Kagaya, as his illness was worsening significantly. Over time, [Name] grew close to a young boy that Amane had rescued, a boy who reminded him of the past, for they had something in common—they both lost their families. Muichiro Tokito... [Name] helped him with his training until he became a Hashira. And it went on like that for a long time. Many things happened. A brother became a demon slayer to help his sister, who was an oni, return to being human. [Name] thought this was very strange—an oni who didn’t eat people? He didn’t want to trust it. But Kagaya gave them his trust, so [Name] relented. After years, the Demon Slayer Corps finally gained an advantage. Kagaya saw this as a step toward defeating Muzan, and [Name] was happy for him. They managed to defeat an Upper Moon after centuries. But unfortunately, Kagaya could no longer appear at the Hashira meetings due to his illness, so Amane began leading the Hashira meetings. The marks were awakened... That oni—Nezuko—her name, she conquered the sun... This was a sign, a sign that they were one step away from victory. Soon, a mission was assigned to the Hashira to prepare, marking the beginning of the Hashira training. Meanwhile, the real final mission began. [Name] opposed this mission—he didn’t want the people he swore loyalty to to die. But it had to be done, so it was carried out. And then, he made the decision to stay and die alongside them. Amane, Nichika, and Hinaki also stayed, despite Kagaya’s objections. The time came... At the Ubuyashiki mansion, Amane stood by Kagaya’s side, while [Name] sat quietly in the corner of the room, just waiting for everything to unfold. Meanwhile, Nichika was playing with a kamifusen with her sister Hinaki outside the mansion. And then, it finally happened. Muzan Kibutsuji entered the mansion. Kagaya sat, with Amane’s help, to speak with him. And [Name] stayed silent, unable to do anything to protect them. Then, after a while, it finally happened— The great explosion occurred, where half of the Ubuyashiki family perished, leaving only three children. But these deaths were not in vain; they were for a greater good. For the death of Muzan Kibutsuji. So that humans could finally live in peace, no longer fearing being devoured by demons. For a battle that had lasted centuries to finally come to an end.
It was only in death that [Name] finally understood the reason for his loyalty to them...
His loyalty was out of love. He loved Kagaya Ubuyashiki. He loved Amane Ubuyashiki. And they loved him too... Well, his loyalty was based on love, one of the most powerful emotions there are. And in the end, he was happy to have discovered the meaning of his loyalty. A loyalty born from love.

Vampire Knight: Bloggers Headcanon
A/N: This is me speculating what kind of Tumblr blog each character would have.
Yuki - A cooking blog where she saves and shares recipes, roasts those of her father and gives in-depth reviews of the local restuarants.
Zero - A roasting blog where he vents his hatred for Kaname, who he never refers to by name but by things like 'a leech that should be bleeched' and vampires in media. Most of his followers are Twilight haters.
Takuma - A writing blog specializing in detectives and fanfiction (which often has his favorite manga turnt into a detective AU)
Rima - A fashion blog where she, from the sweet comfort of anonomity, talks honestly about the designers she has posed for. Like, which actually serve cheap quality that you might as well buy from Wish, etc. Not everyone in the fasion industry is happy with the popularity her blog has gained, but because they don't know which model is behind it, Rima's job remains safe.
Hanabusa - A scientific blog where he explains complex theories in an easy language so that most can grasp what he is trying to explain. Being a teenager, he knows how to break down these subjects for people his age in a way most teachers can't. Most of the Day Class girls managed to find out that he runs a blog. Some actually stuck around as they enjoy being 'tutored' by him.
Ichiru - A meme blog where he both posts his own created memes and reblogs the ones he likes. Made at least two memes out of photos of Zero.
Ruka - A 'business' blog. She is surprisigly good at sewing rag dolls and sells them as a side-hustle to her school activities. Her blog is where she advertizes her cute creations.
Headmaster Cross - A photography blog where he mostly reblogs photos others have taken. Because his 'cute children' don't want to be posted online, any photos he uploads of his own are cats he meets along the way of grocery shopping. Which is why a lot of his followers are catlovers.
Senri - A 'crack' blog. He loves crackhead humor and collects jokes through reblogs whenever he's bored.
Akatsuki- A fitness blog where he used to post about working out. I say used to, because things took turn once he started uploading pictures. There are some girls in the fitness corner of the internet that aren't afraid to monetize their bodies and go nude. One of them caught notice of Akatsuki and started flirting with him through he DMs. Once he noticed her he was like, 'I'm outta here, Ruka is the only girl I want to see naked'. He's been inactive for months and will only go online to reblog Ruka's posts as a supportive friend.

"Kazana Was Right" the Movie
Welcome to my +Anima Sailand arc rant. We're going to talk about trauma, slavery, and dumb canon. Also this bird man. A lot about this bird man.
TW- slavery (heavy focus on slavery apologism), child abuse, trauma, fantasy racism, manipulation (more explicit in this rant than canon)
Two Minute Crash Course
So because this is a rare fandom, I'm gonna assume only I know who these characters are and what their world is so-
+Anima is about people called +Anima, who can use the power of animals for self defense. They only get one animal species, determined by whatever is skittering nearby during a traumatic experience in childhood. This power- also called a +Anima- disappears when the person is safe and loved. +Anima are discriminated against, so most keep their powers into adulthood.
The main characters are three children and one teenager. Their names are Cooro (crow +Anima), Husky (fish +Anima), Senri (bear +Anima), and Nana (bat +Anima).
Cooro was born with his +Anima due to shenanigans, making him more comfortable with it than other characters. He is also my blorbo- very squishable. Nana does not like her +Anima much at all, and is the most fashion conscious member of the group (yes girl but she can also sew which is cool). Senri is heavily traumatized and is generally quiet with a heart of gold. He also a member of the Kim-un-kur, a Native American-esque group who worships +Anima. Husky is a boy who looks like a girl and easy to anger. He is also a prince of Sailand.
Kazana is not part of the regular cast. But I will not describe him here because you're about to hear his life story.
There are two countries in this setting, separated by a mountain range where the Kim-un-kur live. One is Astaria, the setting of 70% of the manga. The other is Sailand. The main difference between them is- in Sailand- slavery is legal and +Amina/Kim-un-kur slaves are common.
The Sailand arc is about three issues long and is set entirely in Sailand. It contains backstory stuff for Husky and Senri. But we're not here to talk about that in-depth (though I will discuss what's relevant for Senri).
Got all that? Good. Time to move on.
Wish Upon a Star
Kazana became a hawk +Anima through unspecified means. He carried the ability into adulthood. Since he's a +Anima in Sailand, he was inevitably enslaved. At least one of his owners is known, and it's this bitch.
Bitch Lady Crystala owns one of multiple caravans in Sailand. To help her run the caravan, she owns a lot of slaves. The manga will bend head over heels to convince you she's a "nice" slave owner and her slaves are "happy" under her rule. Yuck.
Kazana was once one of her happily brainwashed minions. But after overhearing a particular conversation, he learned Crystala is the king's sister. There is some mumbo jumbo about succession which prevents her from ruling, and her relationship with the king is strained. But she still has his ear, and is in the best position out of anyone in the manga- save the king himself- to abolish slavery.
But instead of doing that, Crystala perpetuates slavery under the guise of being a "good master". She can- at any time- release her slaves. She chooses not to. Even twelve year old me knew something was up with this. Adult me- with more adult understanding- is honestly disgusted.
Understandably, Kazana is hurt. He's somewhat betrayed, too, as he thought Crystala really cared for him and the other +Anima under her ownership. This moment proves that not only doesn't she give a shit, but she is actively ignoring her ability to play the right fiddles and make some progress.
So Kazana takes matters into his own talons. He runs away and forms a group called Wish. These +Anima aim to end slavery, with Kazana also hatching a plot to assassinate the king and stage a coop. Upon becoming king, he plans to free slaves from their bondage. It is implied he would also take his rage out upon their former masters. I never said the man was perfect. But he is justified in his resentment.
All good stuff, ruined by a few things. We don't get to see much of Wish's membership outside Kazana. This essentially dehumanizes them. Yes there's a cool lizard guy, but what's his name? We also don't know how close Kazana is to his subordinates. Is he a strict ruler? Do they laugh together? Is he kind but closes his heart?
My headcanon is "a mix of the three, mostly the last one". Kazana has charisma- enough to attract followers- but I don't see him being very open after already being bitten once.
The aforementioned glorification of Crystala also becomes an increasingly large issue as the story progresses. And this is where we bring the protagonists in.
There's a lot left unanswered with Wish. Twelve year old me made a whole ass OC to try and find answers but never followed through. Maybe I should revisit my rat boy. But that's the subject of another rant.
Makes No Difference Who You Are
The four main characters are in Sailand to reunite Husky- however briefly- with his mother. Shenanigans get Cooro and Nana separated from Husky and Senri. The latter two are captured by slavers. But let's follow Cooro and Nana for now, as they enter a town and find +Anima everywhere. This is not common in Astaria, so the naive children get to believe for a second that they will be accepted.
They also wind up chased by slavers. Luckily, a coyote +Anima named Daisy spots them. Unluckily, she's one of Crystala's pets, and her owner is nearby. The two develop a ruse, locking Cooro and Nana in collars to trick the slavers. It works! Yay! But when Cooro attempts to return his collar...
As a blanket statement for everything that happens after this- I don't blame the main four for gushing over Crystala. They are children, and see no reason not to trust her. She not only bailed out these two, but saved Senri in the past (more on that later) and is directly related to Husky. They are too young to understand anything past "nice lady helped us". Senri has an extra wrinkle we'll discuss later.
Cooro and Nana travel with the caravan to try and rescue their friends. It happens to stop in a town where Senri is being sold. And this is where Wish makes its move.
Wish uses a notably non-lethal and barely harmful method to get attention. The translation says it might be mustard, but since it has an equal chance of being hot sand and hurts no-one long-term, I'm going to ignore that.
Kazana attempts to rally the +Anima to join him. The manga tries to warn us of him, as he says +Anima have powers superior to humans. But this is a statement of fact. Kazana's flight and talons give him an edge over ordinary humans. There's also the niggling worry he might use those powers to hurt humans. And he probably will.
But the manga forgets something important. Kazana is still a man. An angry, hurt man, who has seen a lot of evil. He had to have suffered greatly to become a +Anima to begin with. The one person he trusted saw him as yet another slave- not a human being worth freeing. He is wounded. And in his mind, abolishing slavery/becoming king is the only way to heal that wound.
As this is just a demonstration, Wish retreats the second things get ugly. This includes Senri fighting to protect Crystala. Remember I mentioned she "saved" him? Senri carries a book to help with his fractured memory. It contains a flower that reminds him of Crystala, who kept him with her caravan when he was a child. In her "debt", he attacks Kazana.
But Kazana does not retreat until the town guard gets involved. Kazana taunts Senri, sure. But perhaps deep down, he saw who he once was. A man with nowhere to go, who believed Crystala's empty words.
Kazana offers Cooro and Nana a spot in Wish. They decline as they still need to find Husky. He warns them of Crystala, with what limited time he has left in that town. Because he knows he can't force them to come with him. That would make him no better. And yet, he holds out hope that Cooro and Nana can add two plus two and flee.
Before it's too late, and they also feel hurt.
Anything Your Heart Desires Will Come...
Kazana does not reappear until later. With Husky freed and armed with knowledge of the palace's inner workings, Kazana offers to help out. He asks Husky about the king's most likely whereabouts (though he mentions guards, they are not his main concern). Husky- suspecting nothing- tells him. Kazana helps the kids sneak in to see Husky's mother, then departs on his own mission.
Using his new knowledge, Kazana ambushes the king and attempts to assassinate him. Unfortunately, Crystala happens to show up. She tries to get Kazana to stand down, and he refuses.
Though Kazana claims Crystala will take over if he kills the king, this is just a ruse. He just wants her out of the way. And he knows what she desires- power. Why else would she willingly continue to keep slaves? Why would anyone? And so he fights on, the crown in sight, and- hopefully, too- the end of his suffering.
What must be rushing through his mind in this scene? The children he used? His allies in Wish? The younger man curled up inside him, writhing and screaming in rage? Perhaps not even a man, but a child- a little boy who once cried out in fear. In the sky was a simple hawk- his only salvation, and also the key to his doom.
With this one murder, he can save thousands. Perhaps he can save himself.
But just as Kazana knows Crystala is a snake in the grass, she knows him. She had to know him- to an extent- in order to gain his trust. And she is his downfall, easily defeating him in combat, striking weaknesses he might not have known he had.
Because that's how dangerous people operate successfully. They sink under your skin, until you don't own it anymore. They tattoo themselves under the nails, where they'll never truly leave.
These panels haunt me, because you can just see everything slipping out of Kazana's talons. He will never free his kind, and he will never know peace.
Crystala pulls another gambit, faking Kazana's death to prevent his execution by the authorities. Sadly, he ends up right back where he started. You see, Crystala has a nice little plantation...
Yes that is the fucking word the English translation uses.
Now that you're done puking in your receptacle of choice, the plantation contains- you guessed it- more +Anima slaves. Who supposedly lose their +Anima while working there. Recall that the only way to lose one's +Anima is to be in a safe, loving environment. While we can't confirm if the plantation really does make people lose their +Anima, it still uses slaves to operate. That sounds like the exact opposite of safe and loving.
It's a return to the very hell Kazana gave up everything to end.
Bottom of the Abyss
I admit part of this issue is +Anima's format. It's supposed to be about four kids wandering the world together, looking for their place in it. There's little room for huge political epics like this (that's why it's an arc). This and the characters being children inhibits how deep the author can go into things.
That being said, we're still left with an agonizing snarl. Not only has the problem of slavery not been solved, but Kazana is presented as a villain whose rule would unfairly subject humans to torment. He is seen as human enough to spare death, but only to "teach him his place". He has fallen, becoming an example to those who step out of line. One can easily assume that Wish disbands without its leader. Who knows how long until anyone challenges the law again?
The only good thing about this situation is the story forgets about Kazana. Though there is a mini comic showing him on the plantation, I refuse to believe he stays there forever. The sky calls. Sooner or later, he must leave. Do I think he'll stage a coop again? Unfortunately no. He's too hurt and too humbled. But I have a wish of my own- that he leaves that damn slave farm and finds his own place, wherever it may be.
I won't get it in canon. But I can daydream.

Now that i've made some headway into the new games I can revisit this* little series of posts:
*[Kanto] [Johto] [Hoenn] [Sinnoh] [Unova] [Kalos] [Alola] [Galar] [Hisui] [Champs] [Paldea] [Paldea2] [Paldea3] [Teams] [Misc.]
Katy's name in Japanese is Kaede[カエデ] from kaede[楓] the japanese word for the maple tree. While the link is likely the Japanese use of maple syrup as a natural sugar in a lot of traditional pastries, it's kind of an odd choice of design when the Japanese maple is so well known for its deep red leaves, and even other maple trees are distinctly associated with various shades of red, orange, and yellow... Yet she's all brown with just a dash of minty green in there?
I covered Brassius' name in the lead up to game release but his Japanese name is Korusa[コルサ] as in Colza, another name for rapeseed or canola. He shares a namesake plant with Natane and Nabana, in Sinnoh/Hisui, but appears otherwise unrelated. Weird that his design is plant themed yet totally unrelated.
Iono's name was one I wasnt sure of at first, in Japanese it's Nanjamo[ナンジャモ] which is a pun on Nanjamonja[何じゃもんじゃ], which is and exclamation that gets translated very loosely as something like "what the hell is that!?" What i didnt realize at first and that apparently Nanjamonja-no-ki[なんじゃもんじゃの木] is actually the common name of the Chionanthus retusus, the Chinese fringetree. Incidentally I also thought for a moment that her name was a reference to nanjamonja-goke[ナンジャモンジャゴケ], the Takakia lepidozioides moss. But Iono's English name seems to come from the "...iona..." in Chionanthus...
Kofu's name is Haidai[ハイダイ] from the chinese name hǎidài[海带] for a type of Kelp/seaweed(Saccharina japonica). The English name might be a halfbaked attempt at appropriating makonbu[真昆布], the japanese name for the same plant; noting that the ko...bu[こ...ぶ] and kofu[こふ] are written similarly. Anyway... Given the chef gimmick, the seaweed you have to barter for for him, and the fact that one of his town's unique features is a chinese restaurant, it would appear to refer to it specifically as food. It's also the logo on his apron.
Larry's name is Aoki[アオキ] from aoki[青木] the spotted laurel/Japanese laurel tree.(Aucuba japonica) Funny enough it reminds me of Norman's name being Senri from the Senryo plant, which is a similar looking plant with red berries, and they're both normal type specialists. His highlights are similar in shape and color to aoki leaves. And they seem to have gotten Larry from Laurel.
Ryme... Her name is Raimu[ライム] as in Lime, homonym with Rhyme. She raps, but she does not appear to resemble limes... Her sister Tyme is taimu[タイム] like the herb thyme. I dont know why the english localization felt the need to remove the "h" in both of these.
Tulip's name was already Rippu[リップ] as in Lip from tulip.
Grusha/guruusha[グルーシャ] I've done before too. He's named in Russian, grusha[груша]: "pear." His big winter coat makes his head and torso pearshaped.
Rika's name is Chiri[チリ] like Chilipeppers, the genus Capsicum. Some other languages opted to name her after cayenne, but the English name Rika comes from Paprika. Funny enough it has nothing to do with Chili from Unova, as his name, like all his brothers', was originally a reference to corn, not any sort of pepper.
Poppy is popii[ポピー] is poppy. Although they come in a few colors they all have the distinctive black center, which I assume is meant to be reflected in the design of Poppy's hair.
It's just Larry/Aoki again...
Hassel's name in Japanese is Hassaku[ハッサク] from hassaku[八朔] aka the "jagada," a type of orange cultivated in Japan, known for being larger than most oranges; about the size of a grapefruit.
Geeta's name is Omodaka[オモダ] from Omodaka[沢瀉] a tree called the threeleaf arrowhead/Chinese arrowhead (Sagittaria trifolia). Its also prominently featured in Japanese family crests, like that of the Sawada, included above.
Might as well get Team Star is in on this too! In the same way Guzma and Plumeria were kind of villainous alternatives to trial captains, for bug and poison type respectively, the Team Star sub-bosses kind of occupy a sort of pseudo/demi-gym leader status.
Giacomo's name is Piinya[ピーニャ] as in Piña:"Pineapple." His puffy autumn uniform vest and spiky hair makes him look like a pineapple.
Mela's name is Meroko[メロコ] seemingly taken from the Meloco... Of melocotón, Spanish word for "peach." Her red is a little too vibrant for it to be obvious, but her yellow to red hair appears to be peach inspired.
Atticus's name is Shuumei[シュウメイ] from Shumeigiku[秋明菊] Japanese name of a flower called the "fall-blooming anemone"(Anemone hupehensis japonica). It comes in a few shades of pink and violet that seem to match the poison type color motif.
Ortega's name is just a tiny tweak from Orutiga[オルティガ]:"Ortiga" spanish name for nettle, a broad family of herbs known for their stinging hairs.
Eri's Japanese mame is Biwa[ビワ] from biwa[枇杷]: "loquat"(Eriobotrya japonica) a tree with a long history of its fruit and leaves bring used for food and tea. It is sometimes erroneously called the "Japanese Plum."
And just to round things out a little...
Nemona's English name came from her Japanese name, Nemo[ネモ] from the Nemo nemphilia, a broad range of flowers known for their baby blue color. Oddly thats not reflected in her actual design..
Laughably Arven's name was Pepaa[ペパー]:"Pepper" and you would think it would refer to... You know... peppers. But given the English name, Arven from Mentha arvensis, it's actually a reference to peppermint which does make sense with his herb theme.
Penny's name is Botan[ボタン] from Botan[牡丹] Japanese name for the "tree Peony"(Paeonia suffruticosa) The peony has long standing cultural importance in China and by some proxy Japan, and is often compared to the Rose's prominence in Western Europe; this is incidentally why Chairman Rose's brother in Galar is named Peony. Incidentally this is likely why they had to name her Penny, as Peony had been taken.
Clavell's name is actually the same, Kuraberu[クラベル] approximating "Clavel" the Spanish name for the Carnation. He shares a flower name with Champion Diantha in Kalos.
Oops, first pass thru i forgot about the school faculty so i've added a post for those

Vampire knight x male reader
So context
Reader has no like relationship with the other vampires
Yuuki is just human
And I removed all the incest shit from it
I'm rewriting my teenage fic series and making it make sense and not cringe lol
🩷☁️🩷☁️🩷☁️🩷☁️🩷☁️🩷☁️🩷☁️🩷☁️🩷☁️🩷
(name)s memories were always hazy, like it was just beyond a curtain.
(Name) looked confused as he stood in a courtyard, he was just with Ichigo walking to class... How did he get here?
Crouching (name) pulled out (candy) from his pocket and began snacking on it, He was told if he got separated to just wait till he was collected by the others. (Name) never really ventured around the school, often he stuck close to the others as they herded him away from anything they deemed unworthy. (Name) was curious as he glanced around his surroundings and took in the landscape before wandering to a fountain and remembered a human thing Senri taught him and pulled a coin from his pocket and chucked it in said fountain.
Now what?
(Name) stared at the fountain confused as he waited for something to happen but nothing did.
Dang he wished something did happen, humans were weird.
"There you are!" (Name) perked up and saw Aido said happily as Kain followed behind "you know Lord Kaname doesn't want you wandering" Aido said fondly, the sleepy omega clinging to Kain for warmth and Aido playfully pouted as they returned back to the others who looked relived at (name)s return "you worried us" Kaname chastised softly to the other who just stared off "we warned you it's not good to wander off, what if something happened?" (Name) just fidgeted slightly and Kaname sighed "if it happens again you will be punished" not like how he would Aido, the blond alpha usually doing things he very much shouldn't be doing and causing problems for others.
No, (name) was actually the least of Kaname worries in that aspect and usually his punishments were taking away things like his snacks and such, nothing crazy serious but (name) usually sulked about it.
(Name) pouted but let Kaname lead him away, the brunette Alpha keeping a hand on (name)s back as they went to class.
Omegas were extremely far in-between, male omegas were a rarity like no other and even more so amongst vampires, a male Omega vampire had a special ability; their pups would always be pure bloods no matter what.
Though there wasn't enough male omegas in the vampire community to test the theory, (name) was the first in many generations and he wasn't exactly Dam materials Ruka noted to herself as (name) passed out infront of his work.
She couldn't blame him though, they didn't need to be here but Lord Kaname wanted a better relationship with humans so they had to be. Lord Kaname was always protective of (name), keeping him close.
The night class tended to (name) as they would lord Kaname though the Omega didn't seem to notice, more interested in sleep and occasionally sneaking into their rooms because the Omega wanted contact.
(Name) sat beside Aido and Kain during the rest of class as the two blonds kept the sleepy vampire awake in hopes he would retain some information.
"You can nap when we return to the dorms" Kain said to (name) who pouted but tried to pay attention to the class but was not succeeding in the slightest.
Kaname smiled softly at (name) who offered him various sweets, an adorable sense of determination to find a suitable snack as Kaname gently declined his treats as class ended, The sound of screaming girls so late-- or early depending on who you asked was shrill and unpleasant to (name); Kaname keeping him close and away from the hands of the day class students.
Yuuki never knew what to do with (name).
Her dad told her about (name), the Omega was found alone with no memories and taken in by Rukas family but he never went into detail on why (name) was so important, smiling at his daughter with a hint of sadness "he gets to choose what he wants in life... I don't think he's gotten that before this"
(Name) perked up as he saw Yuuki, he enjoyed her company as she was often quite kind to the sleepy vampire and even taught him how to knit, the Omega making blankets after that for his nest.
"Hello (name)--Stay back-- how are you?" Yuuki struggled to keep the fans away as the night class kept a v e r y close eye on the Omega who wandered towards her "Shiki is taking me to get treats..." (Name) whispered slowly before looking at the fans "(name) come now, he have to get to the dorms" Ichigo called out and (name) bid Yuuki goodbye before wandering back to the others.
Though he didn't get far.
A day student reached out and grabbed (name), pulling hard enough to rip his uniform and then hell nearly broke loose.
(Name) was pushed behind Kain and checked on by the other night students as a gun fired, Zero finally making his appearance and glaring down the startled day students "you all have somewhere to be, so fucking get to it or I swear to god I'm going to make your lives miserable" zero seethed out and the day students went quiet for a moment before complaining to the white haired teen.
(Name)s vision was blurry, he vaguely remembers getting lifted before things faded out.
(Name) woke in his bed, soft blankets and familiar scents as he slowly sat up and stretched as Kaname entered the room, holding a glass filled with red liquid "you haven't been eating, you know you need the strength so close to your heat"
(Name)s room was shrouded in darkness as he had blankets over his shoulders "drink" Kaname instructs the Omega who took the glass "... I lost my pills... Yuuki was going to help me look" (name) whispered as he took a sip, though the liquid tasted closer to cranberry and battery acid his hunger was satisfied even slightly "why didn't you say anything?" Kaname interrogates lightly and (name) shrugged "forgot... I'm sorry..."
Kaname gently traced (name)s cheek and sighed, he couldn't be to mad at (name).
"The sweets you consume won't satiate you, if you lose them again tell me" Kaname said to the Omega be was set on making his mate, (name) nodding and leaned into his touch as he always did.
(Name) craved contact from the others, a sleepy distant expression painting his face.
The 18 year old was so tired, he never knew why though.
"You have tomorrow off, I'll have new pills for you then" Kaname said and gently pushed (name) into bed "sleep" his voice gentle but firm as he left the room, (name) watching him leave before falling asleep.

Send 🐾 to see them with a favourite pet or (animal) mount [for as many of your OCs as you'd like!]
Thank you~!!! <3<3<3
I realized Mana and Ayami have double dupe favorites, so I broke reality and smushed them together! Ayami's buddies are Chiriko (road sparrow) and Senri (fat cat who is basically Nyanko-sensei from Natsume Yuujinchou). Mana's are Sandy the road sparrow, and Muffin the fat cat. Lastly is the most honorable Kero, the whittret Magical Carbuncle.
(Senri and Muffin are telepathically plotting mischief, can you tell?)
(Ahru also has a fat cat named Mochi, but he belongs to the Rising Stones/Revenant's Toll at this point - or they belong to him, rather.)
Arshadaya doesn't really have 'favorites' among his many adopted children, but Aquilo stands out to me. Arsh rescued him as a hatchling from an Ul'dahn noble, (who lost to Arsh at the betting table), and the little creature has been at his side ever since - though, he's not nearly so little anymore.

FFXIV Write 2024 - Day 25 - Perpetuity
Another visit beneath another sea. Tataru and Oscar visit Soroban and bring a veritable picnic of treats with them.
"Soroban! It's me, Tataru!" Tataru announced as she entered the Reisen Temple, a lanky elezen following closely after him. Their arms were laden with heavy picnic baskets. "Oscars with me this time."
"Hello!" Oscar greeted at the sound of his name. There was a smile on his face and his attention was alternating between looking where he was going and the ocean that surrounded them outside of the dome.
He stopped sharply as Tataru did to talk to an unusually shaped cat.
"Ah. Senri. Good afternoon." She greeted cheerfully. "We have a surprise for all of you."
"It smells wonderful," Senri noted before sniffing the air again.
Oscar grinned at this. "We have persimmon pudding and mulled tea like they make in Ul'dah."
"Oscar! You're ruining the surprise!" Tataru interjected. " We have other things."
"Ooo. Do you have more of that Takoyaki?"
The two Scions stopped for a second. Oscar was smiling and Tataru seemed to be thinking. She sighed after a moment and continued ahead to set up the meal.
Oscar smiled and nodded once Tataru was unable to see him.
Senri laughed at this favoring him with a warm smile of her own as he followed after Tataru. She had a feeling they were going to have a lovely meal.
"Ah. Tataru. We should probably keep the takoyaki from Kamaitachi until Soroban gets some."
"What. Why?"
"He'll er... eat it all."
It would also be an amusing one, Senri realized as she watched them her smile widening.

Tsukinami Brothers X Older Sister Reader I Love You Boys
What to know- a bit of Vampire Knight crossover!
YOUR POV:
I am (Y/n) Tsukinami and I am the first born of the Tsukinami family. The reason a lot pf vampires don't know I exist is because I was sent to a school called Cross Academy a school that believed vampires and humans can get along with one and other and live equally. I supported this because I was in love with a human named Levi. Levi was a handsome warrior who was killed by a half blood vampire. The love of my life. Take. Gone. Away from me. I was devastated till I heard from my best friend Senri that he was forced to a school called Cross Academy by Kaname Kuran. Kaname was a pureblood while I was a founder. Founder's and pureblooded vampires are feared by other vampires. So when Senri told me the Kaname Kuran requested for Senri and some other vampires to attend I asked for Senri to get me on the phone with Kaname. I was only 18 in human years. My little brothers where still young. That's why I was not mentioned to them I was disowned for what I wanted to do. Carla was 10 and Shin was 9. I loved them but I wanted to do this. I needed to do this so I went on the phone with Kaname and told him I wanted to be apart of his goal. With that I had to say my good byes. I hugged Carla and Shin. Shin cried in my arms and begged me not to leave. while Carla glared at me. The last words Carla said to me was "your betraying the family name and other vampires." I smiled and said "I may be doing that but it won't change the way I feel about you boys. I love you both so much. No matter what you'll say." Carla said "your dead to me and I wish to never see you again" Carla grabbed Shin and walked away as tears fell down my face.
That was years ago now.
As I graduated I decided to go back home. Carla was now 18 and Shin was now 17. I was 26 now. Well in human years. I went back home and saw them. My beloved brothers. I cried. "Shin! Carla! I missed you too so much!" Carla rolled his eyes and said " I do not have a sister. As far as I know you are dead to me." Shin looked at me and smiled. " I missed you. But you betrayed us. Just go!" With that I cried more. "I will always love you boys!"
