I cant get out of my head this image of one of the blue lock additional time moments that shows that Rin is using a big ass tablet instead of a phone so i got delusional and started thinking abt Rin having an idol gf that he absolutely adores and during his breaks he watches her fancams and stuff and his roommates are like totally surprised that he is so whipped lmao😭

proplayer!rin spends so long on his ipad that his teammates start wondering what he's doing, or, rather, who he's watching...

note: idol!reader, referred to as a girl. tysm to anon who reqed this, why are all of my anons straight genuises oml.

itoshi rin is a man who values and needs privacy. unfortunately for him, his roommates seemed to have no such sense of those ideologies. the tall white haired boy, nagi, left him alone mostly out of laziness, but man was he nosy. however, the other boy sharing the sleeping quarters of blue lock's top 6, yukimiya kenyu, was more of a problem. his friendly facade (rin was sure he had ulterior motives) drove rin insane.

"rin-kun, what'cha watching?" yukimiya would pop up behind him at the most exasperating and random times, and what bothered rin most was the fact that he couldn't sense his presence. as if a lanky six-foot-tall high schooler could be stealthy. it scared the living daylights out of rin. of course, he had his reasons for wishing to be left alone—especially while he was on his ipad—because there was personal information in it! he doesn't need his lukewarm roommates trying to friend him on his brawl stars account, he doesn't need them discovering his photo albums, and above all else, itoshi rin does not want them digging into his youtube account.

and so he spends his rare moments of rest curled upon his bed like a cat, earbuds shoved in to eliminate the ruckus produced by the other two. really, how could they conversate for so long about what kind of animal isagi looked like?

when he hits the search query for your youtube account and clicks into the most recent of hundreds of fancams, the rest of the world becomes oblivion; rin only has eyes for you in those moments. he thinks you look absolutely jaw-dropping in the most recent upload, as if you belonged on the cover of vogue (admittedly, he owns a few magazines with your face on the front.) you're performing on the weekly music show, as you always did whenever you released a new song. the comments are drowning in fans filled with adoration, gushing about your talent, your visuals, your vocals: truthfully it makes rin a little jealous. why were so many people trying to steal his beautiful girl? he's unaware of the soft smile tugging at his lips the entire time, a light pink dusting his cheeks, earning him curious glances from nagi and yukimiya (they're whispering amongst themselves, what could possibly be making itoshi rin smile?)

you grin when you see the notification from your laptop. it had been a tiring day of practice and fulfilling your schedule, but your boyfriend's little comments will always brighten your mood. you wished you could call him, but you understood how he had no way to. with your stardom rising each day and rin's soccer career so close to the international stage, it was best to keep your relationship under wraps as to avoid any scandals. it doesn't change the fact that you miss seeing his face every day though, blue lock had taken away those stolen moments between the two of you as well.

rin's spending a little too long watching your interview from yesterday with laser-sharp focus (you were sharing a "what's in my bag?" and he sees the keychain he won you hanging from it) when nagi and yukimiya just materialize from the back, peering at the tablet screen.

"wait, you're a fan of her too?" nagi asks lazily, a curious gleam set in his melange eyes.

"rin-kun, i didn't take you as the type to like idols," yukimiya starts. rin has to bite back a high pitched scream.

"what the hell are you two doing, spying on me like i'm some specimen?" he growls, pissed that they had found out. "and for your information, nagi, she's my girlfriend!" of course, he just had to let nagi know that you were taken, he couldn't stand the idea of the boy looking at you with those heart eyes as well!

"HUH?" a collective gasp rings out from the two boys.

"seriously?" nagi asks. "i need proof, then."

so rin begrudgingly digs out a small white box, and nagi's eyes only grow wider when he sees stacks upon stacks of polaroids, letters, photo strips—all evidence of the dates you've been on before. rin even keeps the tickets of movies you've seen together. he's so distracted that he doesn't notice yukimiya, who'd retreated to a corner and begun to type rather urgently at his phone.

yukimiya: guys come quickly, rin's dating that one viral idol.

otoya: actually?? ur jk.

yukimiya: i am NOT playing rn.

it's then when the door swings open and karasu, otoya, and shidou fall through the space, almost breaking the hinges.

"it's true? rin-rin's whipped for some idol?" shidou teases, winking at rin. otoya eyes the box as well.

"there's no way you scored a baddie like her," the boy with green bangs groans in disbelief. "and i like her content too!" karasu only hollers in agreement, lightly hitting rin on the back.

rin's cheeks are heated and he hates to think about how badly he must be blushing right now. "all of you, i hope you don't value your family's lives too much," he says. "because they'll all be dead. very, very soon."

"AWWW, RIN-RIN'S BLUSHING!" shidou exclaims, which earns him a hard tackle to the floor.

but when the blue lock exhibition match goes public, rin still makes sure you're there in the front row. despite his teammate's relentless comments the entire match, he knows you're in those stands, cheering him on—and that's all he really needs.

Thanks to some calculated foresight, nobody noticed you and Asahi leaving at the same time. Everyone had been involved in their monetized 50/50 odds with Kageyama/Tsukishima's brawl that nothing else mattered.

That was, of course, only until Nishinoya couldn't find his bestie.

He was turning to call to you, make one more joke about how you scared the big coward off.

He quickly scanned the rest of the room- you had both vanished from thin air.

"Yachi?"

It was a little tap against her leg. He sat on the floor, back against the sofa that she was perched on. She leaned forward to hear him amidst all the commotion.

"Did you see where Asahi went?"

Her face grew bright, bright red. She straightened and didn't look at him, except for another tiny, nervous glance.

Yachi infamously could not keep secrets. And, although it wasn't exactly a secret that you two left, it was obvious that you didn't want to be followed, and she knew your feelings well.

Nishinoya's mouth hung open- he pushed himself to sit between her and Daichi, watching her way too close.

A suspicious mutter, right next to her cherry-red face, "You know something."

"Okay- okay, 'Noya-!" Daichi grabbed him hard enough to make him sit naturally again, "Stop that."

"Where is Asahi!" He shouted.

He shoved Daichi off and got up to a kneel again so that he could scan the entire living room. It was hardly a question, because this twilight-zone couch wasn't going to get him any answers.

Suga tried a smarter approach, after sharing a panicked look to Daichi.

"He probably had to take a shit, or somethin'."

Nishinoya stood on the couch, pointing a harsh finger at Suga. He was completely tipped off now, unable to trust a single person, because it was obvious he was not in on something. Now they were all trying to lie.

"You know he only shits in his own house!"

Daichi had to stifle his laughter- that was so true, and such a tiny detail they all knew, and never acknowledged. His attempts to grab Noya were compromised as he giggled. Being pretty wasted did not help.

"Noya, Sit- aah-hahaha-! Sit dowwn!"

"Okayyy, relax man!"

Nishinoya was freaking out, also drunk, knocked back down to his knees because of Daichi's clumsy pulling, "Wheeere! Is! Asahiii!"

Suga stood up to help, only throwing a glance to Yachi- who looked like she was about to implode. The pressure was high, made worse by everyone else's loud chanting, a count-down, for Kageyama to keep his hold on Tsukishima in the center of the circle.

"You're gonna-Ow! Hurt yourself!"

It took the combined strength of Suga and Daichi to keep their smaller friend in place. Tens of minutes passed by with Nishinoya restrained by his legs and waist- sprawled awkwardly over their laps. He would occasionally cry Asahi's name up to the ceiling in a monotone, defeated drawl, as if he was dead.

Nobody else cared, aside from thinking Nishinoya was a funny little guy when he had been drinking.

The rest of the matches were quieter. Daichi had to give up his ref position to Kageyama, since he was sober and the most willing, but that didn't stop him from making the world's worst calls.

Yachi was the first to hear it.

She was zoned out, staring forward at the blank wall, but got roused by a small, and somewhat familiar pitch.

"Oh- oh no--," She leaned over Nishinoya's leg, shaking Daichi's shoulder. She mouthed, 'I can hear them!'

Instead of springing up into action right away, like she expected them to, they sat still. It took a second to understand that they were trying to listen.

The very feint, but undeniable, sounds of some very good sex met their curious ears.

"The speaker-!" Suga caught his breath, sporting a very similar, harsh redness, as he shoved Nishinoya off, "Fuck, I- I'm getting th'speaker."

The solution was efficient, and a surefire way to keep everyone downstairs for longer. It was waking up those that were falling asleep.

It also helped to disguise Asahi once he began barreling down the steps. To the little group, all in on it, they were turned around already, waiting to see him as he stepped into the light.

He was glittering with sweat.

A brief, uneven, "H-ey, guys."

He cleared his throat, unable to meet any of their eyes, as he continued to the kitchen for some water.

Daichi collapsed onto the couch. He was taken completely with laughter, and Suga sat upright, mouth hanging open, growing warmer and warmer, clutching Yachi for support.

If that's what Asahi looked like, it was safe to assume that you must've been in shambles.

When he came back around with water, Nishinoya flung his torso over the back of the couch and barely snagged him by the shirt.

"Asahiii!" He gripped him tight, meeting his eyes with a messy smile, "Who won?"

Asahi made a frightened sound.

In his violent shudder, Nishinoya was shaken off and had to go without a proper response-- he scoffed, calling after him, "You're such a wuss!!"

These two, it’s not even a competition

Not only are they my favorite hxh ship, I’d say they’re my favorite mlm ship overall (or close behind Enjolras and Grantaire from Les Mis, it’s hard for me to pick lolol). If you’ve followed me for any amount of time you’ll know my primary area is femslash; while I do ship a lot of mlm pairings and post abt them frequently, I don’t have many that stand out to me enough to be considered an OTP. But Leopika…oml Leopika

It’s hard for me to sum up exactly why I ship them, they’ve just always paired so well together in my eyes. They both lost a close friend in the past, and they’re able to connect over that and sort of present an opportunity for each other to start over (although Leorio obviously can’t relate to Kurapika losing his entire clan). They’re initially presented as these characters who are total opposites but if you look closely, the reason they fight so often is because they’re so similar. The way they start out with Leorio hiding his morals/Kurapika wearing his on his sleeve and then later swap as Kurapika goes down a darker path. The tragedy of them connecting over losing a friend as I mentioned before, only for Leorio to have to watch Kurapika actively destroy himself, knowing he’s going to lose him too

And, of course, like most Leopika fans, I ate up all the 90s fan service. I’m reading way too much into this but there is smth abt the Kurta being targeted for their red eyes, their most identifiable trait; only for Leorio to identify Kurapika by the color of his hair with the “sunshine” nickname (a more personal trait). The episode where they found that Kurta ship together oml. Then the stage play with them singing together at the hot spring, Kurapika saying his past feels far away when he’s with Leorio. And all of Leokuradio ofc, that is like peak hxh media to me. I need to go back down that rabbit hole and re-listen to some of the episodes

I used to be a bit more into fanon Leopika bcuz high school me just wanted them to be happy, but recently I’ve been leaning more towards their canon appeal (as you can tell from the reasons I just gave lol). That being said I do still love seeing fan art and fanfics of them in AUs or just generally being happy together. One of the main appeals of the ship for me is how well they fit the hurt/comfort trope so ofc I love fics of that nature for them. They are also my favorite characters in the series (I like Leorio a teensy bit more than Kurapika tho shhhh), so that contributes to why I enjoy seeing them together

Yep! She’s one version of Dilemma. A character made up of my best and worst qualities rolled into one representation of myself. All her abilities and attributes stem from something in my personal life. I use her to explore and have fun with various pop culture and media I enjoy as well as express themes that I find very important.

Some basic info on Dilemma:

🩷 Traveller. She hops from world to world, universe to universe using a Pocket Watch, a little device of unknown origin that can open temporary doorways. It’s risky, if you do it too much or with too many people at once you can make the walls too thin and let through De’Amons from the Void.

🩵 She’s pyrokinetic. My star sign is Leo, and fire has always been my element. Fire also represents my obsession with Duality very well. It can heat and cook food and bring humanity out of the dark, it can create. It can also destroy, burn, hurt and turn everything to ash. It can destroy. That’s where the Pink and Blue Flames come from. Each side wields a different flame.

🩷 Pink and Blue. I’m obsessed with Duality and everything about it. The concept of balance being a fine line between. The same coin always having two sides since the first civilisations. Light and Dark/Good and Evil/Death and Life/Creation and Destruction/Feminine and Masculine, there will always be two and a spectrum between them. Balance will always be on that spectrum, not at an extreme. Dilemma is split into two inside, her Pink and Blue personalities are always at war inside her and according to emotions, one can be at large over the other. Only when there’s harmony between the two can she really function.

🩵 She’s married to Jack. (My husband’s Writer) the two travel together.

🩷 Monster. Her bestie is Monster, a shapeshifter who can’t remember his true origins. A traveller like her. (He would need his own post because oml I love him)

🩵 Pencil. She uses a massive Pencil as a weapon, one she can change the size of at will. It’s a tool of creation and has power over De’Amons and other dark creatures from the Void. Her tattoo allows it to be summoned.

🩷 Her other name is Demi Duality, or Demi.

If you see any characters with my signature pink and blue hair in some way, that’s a version of Dilemma and how she looks within that world which she’s most likely visiting. That includes my other blogs. She’s a very personal thing to me, considering she’s based very closely to me as a person and is meant to represent me and the things I love.

All day, Oliver had been feeling. . . off.

From the moment he woke up, he just felt weird.

He was too tired to put together one of his simple-yet-cute outfits. He wound up—for the first time since high school SAT season—simply putting on a t-shirt and his largest pair of sweatpants. He even threw on a hoodie because he just felt chilly.

He still went to class, despite how he was feeling. He just had too much work to do and couldn’t risk skipping classes just because of a bit of tiredness.

Thirty minutes into his professor’s lecture, his head started pounding. His brain throbbed in his skull during all of his classes.

His last class was expository writing, and he wanted nothing more than to fall asleep in his seat.

Oliver was the last one out of the classroom. His backpack was full and heavy on his back, so he was carrying three of his books. He was practically swaying on his feet as he walked out of the building and to the parking lot.

He was driving back to his apartment, when he suddenly remembered he’d left several important assignments at Isaac’s place.

He groaned as he turned his car around. He wanted nothing more than to go home and fall asleep, but he needed to finish those assignments and turn them in. He had so much to do and so little time to do it all.

Isaac’s place wasn’t far from campus or his apartment, so he got there pretty quickly.

When Oliver got to Isaac’s apartment, it was late (the price of Oliver’s last class being a very late one) and he had no idea if Isaac was asleep or not since Isaac sometimes decided to sleep early. When he unlocked the door with his key and saw that the place was completely dark, he realized Isaac was asleep.

He thought about just getting his stuff later, but he was here now so he might as well just grab it and go.

Oliver shut the door quietly behind himself and tried to be as silent as possible as he made his way to Isaac’s living room where his stuff was.

As he was gathering his papers into his arms, a wave of dizziness hit him so hard that he had to lean against the couch to keep from collapsing.

Suddenly, his stomach felt like it was churning. Knowing what was about to happen, Oliver stumbled away from the couch, dropping his stuff on it, and ran to Isaac’s kitchen where he bent over the sink and retched loudly before vomiting.

He puked once. Then twice. And suddenly, the lights came on.

“Olive?” Isaac said. He was in his pajamas, but he didn’t look like he’d just been woken up.

When Isaac realized the state Oliver was in, his eyes widened and he cursed, hurrying to the kitchen and Oliver’s side. “Olive, what the hell—?”

Oliver dry heaved a couple times before spitting into the sink and mumbling, “I came over to grab my assignments. I thought you were asleep.”

“I was brushing my teeth,” Isaac said. Then he brought a hand to cup Oliver’s forehead, and he cursed again. “You’re burning up, baby.”

Oliver sighed as he closed his eyes and leaned into Isaac’s touch.

“Have you been sick all day? Did you go to your classes?”

Oliver opened his mouth to answer, but he only ended up puking again, bending further over the edge of the sink. The marble pushed against his stomach and brought up another stream of bile.

After puking for what seemed like forever, Oliver was finally empty. But he still felt nauseous and continued to dry heave.

“Olive, you’re done. You’re empty,” Isaac soothed, rubbing a gentle and steadying hand between Oliver’s shoulder blades.

“‘M sorry,” Oliver groaned.

Isaac smiled softly. “Don’t apologize. C’mon, let’s get you to bed.”

Oliver finally looked up at his boyfriend. “I should get home,” he said. “I have to finish a lot of work, and I have to study and— and—” He couldn’t finish the sentence before another wave of dizziness crashed into him like a bus, and he swayed dangerously on his feet.

Isaac quickly steadied him and wrapped his arms around him. “Yeah, hell no. You’re staying here tonight.” And with that, he bent down and hooked an arm under Oliver’s knees, picking him up bridal style. Oliver was as small and skinny as ever. He was light and Isaac easily carried him over to his bedroom and laid him on the bed, tucking him under the sheets.

“Isaac,” Oliver groaned. “I’m serious. I have a lot of work to do, and—”

“You have plenty of time to do your work, Mr. Perfectionist. Right now, you’re sick. Hold on, I’ll be right back.”

Oliver watched his boyfriend run out of the bedroom. When he came back, he had an armful of stuff.

“Okay,” he said, setting the stuff down on his bedside table. He picked up a thermometer and sat on the edge of the bed, looking down at Oliver. “Under the tongue,” he said, holding the thermometer up to Oliver’s mouth.

Oliver opened his mouth and Isaac slipped the thermometer in. He stroked Oliver’s hair sweetly until the thermometer beeped. He took it from Oliver’s mouth and sighed when he saw the high number. He put the thermometer back onto the side table and grabbed a bottle of water and some medicine.

“Here,” he said, holding up the two pills and the water. Oliver sat up and swallowed the pills with the water before lying back down. Isaac set the water bottle down before going around the bed and climbing in next to his ill boyfriend.

Instantly, Oliver scooted closer to Isaac.

In response, Isaac pulled Oliver close to his chest. He could feel the heat rolling off him, and he worried even more, but he didn’t say anything. It didn’t take long for Oliver to fall asleep. Isaac fell asleep soon after.

At 2am, Isaac woke up freezing.

It took him a minute to realize all the blankets had been pulled off of him. It took him another minute to remember that Oliver was there.

He sat up and blinked sleepily at his shivering and pale boyfriend. Oliver had taken all the blankets, but he was still trembling.

Isaac pressed a hand to Oliver’s cheek and drew back instantly from the raging heat of his boyfriend’s skin. He was on fire!

“Shit,” he whispered, getting out of bad as quickly and quietly as he could and hurrying out of the bedroom. “Shit shit shit!”

Isaac got a hand cloth from the kitchen and wet it with cold water. He hurried back into the bedroom and carefully peeled the blanket away from Oliver. Then he gently but hastily shook Oliver’s shoulder. “Olive, baby, c’mon—baby, wake up. Wake up.”

Oliver groaned, but his eyes opened into thin, blinking slits.

“Hey, baby,” Isaac whispered.

Oliver wined and curled up onto his side in response. “My head hurts,” he mumbled in a weak voice.

Isaac sat on the edge of the bed again. “I know, baby. I know.” He took the hand towel and draped it on Oliver’s forehead. Oliver let out a pained whine in response to the sharp coldness.

“It’s okay, Olive,” Isaac whispered. “You’re okay. I know it feels uncomfortable, but the cold will help.”

Though Isaac didn’t think it was possible, Oliver started to shiver even more, despite the fact that it felt as if his skin had been lit on fire.

Isaac had no idea what else to do but wipe the cold cloth along Oliver’s face and neck. Isaac had to re-cool the towel a few times.

It was too late at night to call Keiko, which was the usual go-to option he and all their friends had when one of them was sick or hurt.

After re-cooling the towel for the fifth time, it was morning. Sunlight was just barely starting to peek through his blackout curtains, and Isaac quickly shut off his phone because he knew his alarm would go off any minute and he didn’t want to bother Oliver with his loud alarm that plays “Party in the USA” when it went off.

Oliver’s hair was damp and plastered to his sweat-slick forehead. The cloth didn’t seem to be doing anything, and Isaac only had one other idea of what to do.

“Baby,” he whispered, gently shaking Oliver awake again. “Baby, you need to get up. I need to get you to the bathroom—your skin is way too hot.”

Oliver groaned and tried to bury his face in his pillow, but Isaac was pulling him up into a seated position.

The world felt like it was tilting, and Oliver couldn’t even support his own head up. He was vaguely aware that he was moving, but he wasn’t walking, was he?

No, he definitely wasn’t. Someone was carrying him.

Suddenly, a light came on and Oliver winced, even though his eyes were closed.

Before he knew it, he was set down on a very cold tile floor. He opened his eyes and looked up at the person still supporting him even though he was sitting. “Isaac?” he mumbled. “What’s happening? It’s cold—”

“I know,” Isaac said, crouching down and peeling off Oliver’s sweaty clothes. Being naked only made him shiver uncomfortably. “But your fever is really high, and I need to cool you down.”

Before Oliver could completely register the words, he heard the squeak of the shower handle, and he couldn’t help but cry out in pain when the cold water hit him.

His teeth chattered and he shook horribly from the icy temp. Isaac continued to whisper soothing words while he touched Oliver’s cheeks and neck with cold, wet hands. The cold felt painful to Oliver. He even started to cry. Horrible, heart-breaking cries.

“It’s okay,” Isaac whispered. “I know it feels horrible, but it’ll be over soon. Just a little longer, baby.”

Oliver’s small sniffs turned into full on sobs and Isaac pulled Oliver into a hug, despite the cold water that started to pelt him and his clothes as well.

When Isaac turned the water off, they were both drenched, but Oliver was more soaked and shaky than Isaac.

Isaac grabbed a towel and wrapped Oliver in it. He dried off Oliver’s face and hair. The long, black strands stood at different, odd angles when he pulled the towel away.

Oliver was still crying softly. He was still sitting on the floor of the shower, so Isaac scooped him up and sat him on the toilet seat to finish drying him off as much as he could.

“I’ll get you some dry clothes,” Isaac said, crouching so he was at eye level with his boyfriend. “I’ll be right back.”

Oliver didn’t want Isaac to leave him alone, but he didn’t say anything as his sweet boyfriend left the bathroom.

It was only minutes before Isaac came back with fresh clothes in his hands. He helped Oliver out of the wet clothes, cooing as Oliver started trembling like a kicked wet puppy. The poor boy was still too out of it to even blush at the fact that his boyfriend was seeing him naked for the first time ever.

Once Oliver was in a clean t-shirt and shorts, Isaac once again lifted him. Oliver shut his eyes, trying to hide his face in the blonde’s chest as he was brought out to the living room. Isaac set Oliver on the couch, smoothing wet hair away from his face. “I’ll be right back,” he promised. “I just have to change the sheets real quick.” He left, and Oliver closed his eyes. He still felt awful, and his head wouldn’t stop pounding.

Isaac came back after several minutes, accidentally startling Oliver just as he was starting to doze off. Isaac, instead of picking Oliver up again, sat beside him on the couch, petting his hair with a concerned look. While gone, he’d changed out of his wet clothes too, and was wearing a different pair of pajamas, this one with pineapples printed all over it.

“Hey,” the blonde said softly. “Want some pomegranate tea? I’ll put extra honey in it, just like you like it.”

Oliver shook his head, eyes lowering to the floor. He leaned into the hand petting his hair, prompting Isaac to start gently massaging and scratching his scalp.

”What about soup instead? Or some fruits? You threw up quite a lot last night. You should eat something if you can hold it down.”

Again, Oliver shook he’s head. 

Isaac frowned leaning forward, and pressing a lingering, loving kiss to Oliver’s forehead. He was also checking how warm Oliver was, and though he didn’t feel as bad as he did before, it wasn’t much better. He pulled back and put his palm over Oliver’s forehead instead. “You’re still really warm. Maybe at least chew on some ice for a bit? It could—”

”Stop,” Oliver sighed, leaning to rest his forehead on Isaac’s shoulder, pressing his cheek against Isaac’s chest. Isaac realized that he was still shivering horribly.

Isaac let out a sigh, reaching for a blanket draped over the arm of the couch and forcing Oliver to sit up for a second so he could wrap it around him. Isaac pulled his cocooned boyfriend back against him, hugging Oliver tightly.

For about thirty minutes, Isaac stayed like that, hugging his feverish and sleeping boyfriend. 

Finally, when Oliver stirred awake, he pulled the blanket off of his head and looked up at Isaac. “Hey” he said in a sleepy voice.

”Hey,” Isaac replied softly, smiling a bit with his brows still slightly pinched. “How’re you feeling? A little bit better?”

Oliver nodded a bit, blinking heavily. “What time is it?”

Isaac pulled his phone out of his pajama pocket and read the time. “7:59,” he said.

Abruptly, Oliver’s eyes widened, and he seemed to fully wake up. Even though the feverish glaze never left his eyes and he was painfully pale. “Crap. I have to go,” he said anxiously. “I have, like, three assignments due today, and my first class is in thirty minutes. . .” Oliver tried to free himself from the cocoon, but between his exhaustion, his fever, and Isaac not letting go of him, he was forced to stay put.

“Whoa, chill,” Isaac said gently. “You’re not going to class today. You’re way too sick.”

Oliver looked at Isaac with wide, anxious eyes. “But—”

“Olive, you work too hard as it is. Don’t push yourself like this; especially not through such a nasty bug.”

Oliver felt his cheeks starting to heat, and he pouted. “My workload isn’t too bad. I just need to—”

“Baby, you’re taking eleven courses. And you’re on the college’s newspaper. I’ve told you before that you need to lighten your load; you work way too much, and you stress yourself out. I know you’ve always wanted to be one of the greatest journalists of all time, but you need to let yourself relax before you drive yourself crazy. And you need to relax now so you can get over this bug.”

Oliver didn’t deny anything Isaac said, because he knew it was all true. But he had to work hard. He wanted to be a writer at The New York Times. He wanted to become famous for his articles. He had to work harder and harder. He had too much to do and not enough time.

“One day, Olive,” Isaac said, running his fingers through his boyfriend’s longish black hair. “Just let yourself relax for oneday, please. After that, we can stress about your insane workload together. We can study together all night, every night, and not get any sleep while we work like our lives depend on it. Okay?”

For a moment, Oliver was silent. Then he smiled and laughed. Something about Isaac’s words just seemed so funny to his fever-cooked brain. And then Isaac started to chuckle, too.

When they both finished laughing, Isaac leaned forward and pressed a kiss to Oliver’s lips. “I love you,” he said.

Oliver pulled back a bit. “Don’t kiss me on the mouth; you’ll get sick!”

Isaac grinned, rolling his eyes and using the hand still tangled in Oliver’s hair to pull him forward for another kiss. “Like I care.”

This is better titled "病美人想早点去世" i.e. sick mc wishes to die sooner, the title the author wished to change to. mc transmigrates back in time and completes missions in this dynasty according to system's commands, becoming both hero and antagonist of the protagonist in the book. I think mc gets near the verge of death many times too many but I rated it 4 out of 5 so I guess it was enjoyable still... that and the resolution was rewarding. mc cares a lot about his sister in the present life, and everything that he does for the system and the protagonist is basically for her.

A rather depressive take on contractual marriage and unrequited love. All goes awry at the fifth year of their contracted covenant in which the marriage is to end. I reread it recently and it still remains one of my favourite books of this genre. will probably read the other ones this author has written soon.

人鱼文偏执反派翻车了 by 弃脂焚椒 (The Paranoid Villain in the Mermaid Novel Has Overturned)

i think this is a rather popular one idk. A little bit draggy, but the premise of the insane overlord and the heir presumptive is well thought out. I did enjoy it but was not particularly in love with the ml's characterisation which essentially surrounds the mc in everything that he does.

I've only discovered my fondness for quick transmigration the past year but essentially it goes not without conditions:

there is a good convincing backstory that readers try to sleuth out while reading the worlds

mc and ml characterisation is consistent

the dimensions/worlds are well-written and elaborate enough.

Some are from more than a year ago so (sorry!) I really don't remember enough to write about them in detail. I might supplement them with longer reviews (since I have written them for some at the time of reading but again it is slightly unlikely given current workload).

uhmm hii so i’ve mever requested something before so just ignore this if you like! uhm i’ve been watching violet evergarden recently and had this thought for a while maybe Jade and Rook (separately) as a servant for a Princess reader?? like the reader is a bit bratty and gets irritated easily and stuff? but she’s actually very nice?? soo she’s in a arranged marriage with some dude?? (you can pick a character for that or it can remain anonymous if you want) and the reader is sad because it means she’ll have to get separated from Rook/Jade since technically they don’t belong to her and belong to the the royal palace instead so uhm rook and jade comforting reader and stuff because the reader actually likes them and doesn’t want to be separated from them? kinda like in that one episode. if you dont want to do this it’s fine! you can just ignore it.

oml ive heard of that anime, but the only one with royalty themes ive watched was "snow white with red hair".. zen stole my heart when i was 11 hehehe

jade is someone that loves snark honestly, he finds your attitude so entertaining and amusing to him. he only believed that you were just all bark and no bite, anyways. he always had a feeling that you were hopelessly into him as he is to you (even if jades loves more.. intensely than others..!) jade never seemed discouraged and upset when you would act all irritable and annoyed with him, jade would only give you a pleasant smile and ask you what else you needed.

an arrangement for your marriage was something that he was prepared to have come at some point, it's sort of the inevitable- also considering that you never once had given any kind of suitors presented to you the time of day. he would chuckle at that behavior and only warn you that this would make matters harder for you.

your tears were definitely a sight to see as you don't share this part of you often, nevertheless he'll be ever so calm and collected when by your side, placing one of his gloved hand on the small of your back in a comforting manner.

rest assured about the situation; I feel like jade wouldn't feel worried about it and tell you that you really shouldn't either. not to worry a single bit. I mean, who's to say something couldn't happen to this prince you're betrothed to?

he... is devoted to you so much that any comment or mean remark towards him does not bother him one bit, you could say it goes in one ear and out the other. rook feels as if it's the greatest privilege to serve someone such as you, he lives to serve beauty after all. assisting and being with you throughout your day is simply a dream come true for rook. you can't blame him for falling hard, can you??

when he sees you crying it breaks his heart--! at first, he was a bit surprised with wide eyes since you're rarely ever so vulnerable around him like this, he quickly was kneeling at your side pleading to know what the matter was with you.

rook feels lie it's a story, the bittersweet ones he reads about; forbidden love, oh his heart hurts! he'll take your hands into his and try his best to give you the most comforting words. though inside he does feel a sense of strange joy-- only to hear from your mouth that you do reciprocate his feelings. like jade, rook is intense and he always claims he's completely and utterly loyal to you as your servant. he'll practically do anything to ensure you priority is first. it's just so perfect that its him.

Like we talked about before, you and Sunday would be partners in crime. The manipulative duo.

I think that the two of you would probably enjoy dates like going to the opera. When the singer is good it wasn't uncommon to find the two of you with eyes closed, you leaning against him, enjoying the sweet melodies of the songs. When it wasn't so great, the two of you would be whispering your criticism in each other's ears with giggles.

Sunday would like hearing you sing more, though. Even if it is just a sweet little humming under your breath as you two are settled down together to read together or perhaps do other things within each other's presence. He is, however, more than aware of the abilities you have. They impress him every time and to know that you could always control him but don't makes his heart swell with affection. A chaste, but no less full of passion than any other kiss, would be pressed to your lips. "Thank you, dove." (I've started to use "dove" as his nickname for the reader recently- It just makes sense to me.) Whether he's thanking you for the song or for not trying to put him under your control with you voice, you'll never know. He just gives you that smile of his.

It was always a treat to hear his voice as well. He's not nearly as inclined to it as you or even his sister. You and her get along quite well, I'd think. Especially since she doesn't really know about the manipulative tendencies you and your lover have. Some things are better not knowing, hm? In any case- If you asked, he would sing something for you. The songs are always gentle and slow. If it was upon your request that he is singing, he's likely to sing a love song of some sort- It's funny. Almost like a pretty bird courting his love with a song despite them already being his.

The first time it happens, it startled a chuckle out of the normally composed man. He'd lean in again to kiss you once more, this time pursposefully caressing your wings with his while he holds you close.

When he'd managed to figure out that you and he were one in the same, he slowly brought you in on his schemes and work. After asking you outright about it once he was certain of it, he'd have you help him with his... persuations. You would subtly be humming to yourself whilst he spoke with people, influencing them to sway to his side. His ideas and thoughts suddenly sound perfect to them. On a larger scale- When he'd host dinner parties as a leader of Penacony with the elite, you would act as the entertainment for the night. You would sing for them as they mingled, slowly beginning to take control of them. But once the main act was upon you, you singing your final song of the night, it was then that you would use your power the most that night (not fully, but more than before). And just like that. They were again ensnared and ready for his use. He'd plant ideas and thoughts in their minds while under your control.

And as everyone would leave for the night, h'd wrap an arm around your waist and kiss your temple. "You did amazing tonight, my love. Let's celebrate, hm?" He'd say this in a low voice before leading you back into the house for a glass of wine or whatever else tickled your fancy.

Which you save him from with a true love's kiss, and then he watches you fight again, and for some reason finding you in your element is really stupidly kind of sexy for him.  

And that’s why he asks you to marry him outside with a bunch of people watching, kissing you deeply when you accept the ring.

not weird at all, thank u for asking!! in all honesty, i don’t watch too much bollywood/stick to the same genres within it and have forgotten most of what i watched as a kid (i think i listen to the music more than i watch the movies too), but here’s a few (most will be period pieces and older films);

umrao jaan (1981) is my absolute fav, i’ve heard it be called “poetry on screen” and that rings so true. stunning cinematography, costuming and music but also amazing story. it’s melancholic but also somewhat hopeful?? rekha is also one of my favourite actresses to exist, so there’s that too

gonna have to recommend all of sanjay leela bhansali’s movies. king of bollywood period pieces!! bajirao mastani (2015) was the first one i watched at like 13 and it blew me away with the meticulous detail gone into the costuming and choreography and it changed me as a person (deewani mastani will forever be a favourite song/mv oml 😭🫶🏼). but honestly, watch devdas (2002) first! it’s the most visually stunning and most iconic and will give u an insight into what his other movies are like!! the actors he chooses are always superb too (well… maybe besides heeramandi…)

any movie featuring shah rukh khan and kajol as love interests bc their chemistry is insane (sooo many ppl ik thought they were married irl as kids, i did too!) i think everyone watched khabhi khushi kabhie gham (2001) as a kid so it’s a good one to start with. i also liked dilwale dulhania le jayenge (1995), though i don’t remember much about it and am just now rewatching it in my adulthood

i rave about this movie so much but jodhaa akbar (2008) is my favourite movie ever. the music, the political intrigue, the romance… if you’re interested in the mughal empire, this is a movie for u

if you’re queer (specifically lesbian or wlw) u should watch ek ladki ko dekha toh aisa laga (2019). not as visually stunning or musically great as the others i’ve mentioned but it’s so so important to me, and it took big steps towards lgbtqia+ representation in south asian cinema

i recently watched bulbbul (2020) and wow… it’s so powerful. if u like horror done in a feminist lens, this one is definitely for u (just look up trigger warnings first!)

if you’re looking for old bollywood, pakeezah (1972) is a must watch. paved the way tbh and meena kumari was an ethereal and extremely talented actress/poetess (if u get a chance, u should listen to her poetry too). i think the soundtrack, besides umrao jaan, is one of my favourites on this list!
