The context is: I had a dream back in february - that Astarion came to me and confessed his guilty pleasure of him watching My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic and Rarity being his fav pony. And so i gifted him a T-shirt with her.

this new mlp infection au has me in a grimdark chokehold. so much so that I slept with the lights on last night!!! I've been sifting through so much content. My favs have been from Chloe Alonzo (etc.etcetera) and Ariel (grimskelegirl).

With that being said I've decided to set myself some hard rules for my personal headcanon!! I want to work on some self-insert art with my oc FeatherBlade, so here are some of my thoughts on the universe:

How it started: Swamp Fever (canon to the show). A small population of Hayseed Willow trees (unnamed within the show) has made root in the everfree forest near the bog. Flash bee habitats are dying and the Everfree population has been MIA. Unfortunately, as one of the few pollinators immune to swamp fever, the Hayseed Willow trees have been on the fritz. Have you ever noticed how the bog always seems a little different every time you visit? The tree's aren't just changing every time you wander near them, no, they're entirely new trees from the last time you were there. Previously overlooked due to the originating population being from Hayseed Swamps, it's been observed that Hayseed Willows have a much faster lifecycle than typical trees. Due to the lack of abundant pollination, the Hayseed Willows have been producing more pungent spores in the face of dwindling repopulation within the Everfree. "Deemed unsafe due to the threat of swamp fever, the Hayseed Willows lack studied materials. Desperate times have given us reason to look into them further. Any information is useful information. Ponies are dying, we need to find answers. These new conditions have had... detrimental effects on the larger mammal and mammal adjacent populations surrounding the area (ie ponies, bears, gryphons, manticores, etc). A spore based infection hasn't been observed in cold blooded creatures (ei dragons, kelpies, serpents, various reptilian and aquatic species). Pure avian species getting infected hasn't been observed either, their resting body temperatures tend to be higher than mammals. Could infection rates be linked to host body temperature? Does the spore infection have to grow and evolve to combat the host's immune system fever response? Conclusion unknown." The rest of notes here are scattered. Everything seems to be written with extreme haste. Regarding the mane6: Twilight: Healthy. Stuck in Canterlot hospital both due to quarantine and studying. No progress, pulling samples from infected and any known immune ponies she can find. Twi has suggested case-controlled studies in allegedly unaffected species. This idea has been highly protested, though the ponies in protest no longer seem to be... There's been various creatures being moved to and from the hospital lower levels in completely blacked out boxes. Much of staff has no idea what she's doing down there anymore. Rarity: Healthy? Currently at sweet apple acres with the apple family. The boutique was quickly breached by infected ponies. Fashionable doesn't always mean functional, and the same applied to the boutique's exterior. Rarity was hurt in a scuffle trying to rescue opal, though infection not likely. She and opal are safe. Sweetie bell is currently at their parent's home in Canterlot. Rarity hasn't been able to contact her as the phone lines are down. She's worried about her safety, but has been told the Canterlot quarantine procedures have been successful. Pinkie Pie: Healthy, too op to get infected. She made it to the Pie family rock farm. Everyone is currently safe. Ghastly Gorge has been a great natural barrier between them and Everfree forest. No infected have been sighted yet, they've all been freely roaming the farm property without worry, but it's getting too quiet outside.. Apple Jack: Healthy. Locked down at the apple family farm. Rarity, Big Mac and Apple Bloom have all been healthy and safe indoors. Granny on the other hoof is losing it. After what looked like a small surface bite with no skin breakage, they thought she would be ok. But she has since gone mute and wanders aimlessly around the house. She hasn't been seen eating or drinking anything but shows no sign of fever or infection progression. Big Mac made the decision to lock her in the barn after an incident that put the family at-risk. Apple Jack has been observing her whenever the coast is clear outside.

 Rainbow Dash: Infected? Dash has been trying to convince Canterlot guards to let her in to see Twilight. Due to visible bite wound, they haven't let her in. Dash has grown neurotic under stress and hasn't given up trying to break in. She doesn't appear to be worsening but her agitation has been subject of debate on her progression. There's been talk of escorting her to the hospital but no official action has been made. Guards are growing tired of keeping her out on top of keeping the rest of the infected at bay. How long until they tell Twilight she's here? She's hurting herself trying to break in.. Fluttershy: Healthy. Under strict protection of Discord at his home. The level of chaos down in ponyville has struck fear into his softened heart and he refuses to let Fluttershy get hurt. Discord know's a thing or two about chaos but not even he could conjure up such an outbreak. It's unnatural, but caused by nature? That's exactly what's scaring him. She's been trying to convince him to let her help. Her communication with the wildlife may be what Twilight could utilize to advance in her studies. Not to mention how worried she is about the animals at the cottage. The two of them might be exactly what Equestria needs right now.. next post: royalty at canterlot + what's going on at the crystal empire, timeline on how far things have spread.

Yes Raine would be into My Little Pony and talk to Eda about it because they know she won't judge them. Eda doesn't even tease them about it because she knows Raine's been bullied for thier intrest before. She wasn't really interested in watching the show at first but agreed to watch it with Raine to make them happy, and she ended up LOVING it.

Raine's favorite character is Fluttershy while Eda's favorite character is Rainbow Dash. (They also both ship Flutterdash. Totally not because they're projecting or anything...)

Although Eda also loves and relates to Discord and thinks his interactions with Fluttershy are adorable. Darius's favorite pony is Rarity. (And he ships Rarijack). After getting Eda hooked on the show, Raine specifically showed Darius some Rarity centered episodes first to reel him in too.

Raine makes them both ponysonas and Eda thinks they are the COOLEST thing ever. She will fight ANYONE who dares call them cringe. Eda and Raine's ponysonas are Pegasus while Darius's is a unicorn. Just like their favs.

Here’s my story about growing up on MLP

The show started when I was 6 years old, but i didn’t get pulled in until I was 7. I remember it was a McDonald’s Happy Meal Fluttershy toy that did it (I still have it today and it sits on my dresser like a trophy). She had a brushable tail but no comb and a whole bunch of stickers. I looked at the box and my mom, who’d known about the show and remembered the original 80s version from her childhood, but she said she never really watched it or owned any of the toys, but I guess really wanted me to get into it. I still remember the first episode I watched was Read It and Weep (the one where Rainbow Dash gets into Daring Do) which today I find hilariously ironic.

This started a full-blown OBSESSION with the show. Soon I was collecting the blind bags, Beanie Babies, Happy Meal toys, I had FatHeads of all of the ponies on my bedroom wall, I had a My Little Pony lunchbox, a My Little Pony backpack, I wore My Little Pony underwear, I had My Little pony pajamas, I made a Twilight Sparkle Halloween costume one year, I had a My Little Pony birthday party one year. My mom compared me to Pinkie Pie but Twilight Sparkle was my favorite. I was an extroverted kid (the pandemic is what turned me into an introverted adult) and I started hoping I’d meet five friends I’d spend my whole life with just like her. I was a silly kid. I actually got bullied for being obsessed with the show unfortunately… this led to the loss of my first My Little Pony lunchbox.

And I wrote fanfiction! And I drew cringeworthy fanart because I was like that (my fanart improved over the years). When Equestria Girls came out, I started wondering if high school would be like that.

No, I never got to dance on cafeteria tables in school spirit wear. Sad.

As an adult, I think the show has definitely shaped me as a person who believes friendship, while not magic, is one of the most important things in the world. As for G5, it’s okay in my opinion. I haven’t watched any of the episodes after the Netflix movie, but I like the characters and I’m happy to see the next generation of kids gets to grow up on it too.

I did not hate Season 9. The later seasons I agree were not as good, but I never hated the School of Friendship or Cozy Glow (I actually love the idea of adorable child villains). The introduction of Scootaloo’s lesbian aunts warmed my heart, along with LyraBon getting married and implied AppleDash (though I think RariJack would have been better, just saying). I don’t hate The Last Problem either. Once again, a bit upset Rarity didn’t end up with anyone though because she deserved to have a happily ever after (and Gallus and Silverstream ending up in different places. I think those two should have gotten together)

Pony Life is bad. The introduction of Pinkie Pie’s brother makes no sense and opens up a lot of plot holes, even more than Maud never having been in The Cutie Mark Chronicles flashback. I never got behind Sparity. Rarity is too old for Spike and to be honest I think Spike and Sweetie Belle should’ve.

One thing I never understood was the hate on Flash Sentry and Timber Spruce. I think they’re both charming and both good for their respective Twilights. No no no. I ship Sunset Shimmer with EG’s Rainbow Dash, not Sci-Twi. No hate on Twiset, though!

My favorite episode of MLP, or episodes I suppose, are still A Canterlot Wedding, Parts 1 and 2. Queen Chrysalis will always be my fav villain. I love two-parters. Twilight’s Kingdom and To Where and Back Again are my others. I HATED The Mean Six btw. I found it a pathetic return for Queen Chrysalis and extremely anticlimactic. It’s the only episode I genuinely hate. There are some I dislike a bit but that’s the only one I hate.

A large inspiration to how Poisoned Lipgloss sounds is PrinceWhateverer. I love his music and I admire him greatly.

MY LITTLE PONY

🐴 discord — amazing slow-burn (& realistic) character development, excellent voice acting by one mr. john de lancie, has chemistry with nearly every character he interacts with, sympathetic while still retaining a wild & unpredictable edge. has NO right to be as funny as he is. my baby boy.

🐴 tirek — manages to be endearing & kind of stupid without erasing how dangerous he can be; surprising soft side that doesn’t erase his cruelty; interesting backstory & dynamics with his family; reluctant dad dynamic with cozy glow that melts my heart. also he’s super hot sowwy 😔

🐴 twilight — highly relatable 2 me on a personal level; an extremely dynamic main character that the writers weren’t afraid to depict as flawed or a little ugly sometimes. really good friend and big sister. needs to be nicer to herself 😭 i just care for her a lot & all of her accomplishments on the show felt really earned

🐴 celestia — ugghhh she has such a fascinating backstory & there are so many interesting implications about her character that i wish the show explored better. this lady has dealt with so much grief in her life while having to maintain an image of poise & dignity for her kingdom. i like that they showed us she has a sense of humour & is nowhere near as perfect as she seems but i do wish they took her. a Little more seriously. i care her 🥺

DIGIMON:

👾 impmon / beelzemon — i like him for a lot of the reasons i like discord tbh. his character arc is one of my favourites in fiction, ever, and never ceases to rip my heart out every time i rewatch the show. i appreciate how seamlessly he goes from annoying comic relief to tragic to a near-complete monster to atoner to genuine friend to the main cast. in the span of less than 50 EPISODES too, wtf. not to mention he’s the other half of one of my fav. fictional ships & great with kids to boot. there’s little i Don’t like about that little man (or big man, depending on what form he’s in).

👾 renamon / sakuyamon — would defend her with my life tbqh. anyone who reduces her to being an uwu sexy furry bait or an extension of the people she cares about i will bite the FUCK out of you. she’s so much more than that & had a whole arc of her own, if not one of the best ones of the series, but people won’t mention it or all the interesting implicative lore surrounding her because she’s quiet or because they’re too busy ogling her. big sigh

👾 mitsuo yamaki — why does no one TALK ABOUT THIS DUDE. not only is he super funny in the english dub but his character development is fantastic in both versions of the show. (seeing a pattern here?) i love that he goes from a well-intentioned extremist to a villain to a weird uncle figure to the kids. he deserves way more attention than he gets & i get so excited every time i see fans acknowledging him at all 😔

I'm asian, about 5'2 with short hair and brown eyes. extroverted and outgoing, chaotic person and a pain in the ass with friends (like literally), BUT shy with strangers mostly because I don’t know them or I'm uncomfortable around them. according to my friends, they thought I was quiet and calm person, when they saw me in public. I get irritated/mad quite easily around loved ones and it's like issue.

I like reading (my fav writers are Jane Austen and Louisa May Alcott), watching movies, listening to music (HUGE TAYLOR SWIFT FAN, also I adore Lana Del Rey, Laufey, Bruno Mars and The Smiths). the most frustrating thing is that because of my optimistic behavior in society, people usually think I'm dummy.

— it wasn't as though she was making you uncomfortable, but she can definitely be a lot if you aren't used to her energy.

— you opened up about your favorite hobbies and interests, and piper saw you were becoming more comfortable with her.

— she was internally cheering! of course, piper could charmspeak someone to be her friend, but she was absolutely against that.

— making friends has always been hard for piper, partly because of her father. she grew up too fast :(

— so seeing you smiling with her, her heart grew.

— hanging out with you for the next few weeks made her so happy! she introduced you to leo and jason, and even her cabinmates took interest in you.

— you turned piper on to your favorite music and books, and found similar activities you could do together (piper's personal favorite is strawberry picking)

— you both liked to chill, too. painting nails and dancing to your shared playlist were just some of the things you enjoyed together.

— growing closer with you was one of piper's highlights of camp. she enjoyed having a friend like you, one she could hold hands with without it being "weird".

(Legit most of this is me projecting Mane 6+ discord you can also see the favoritism here by how much I right for each pony ~Lucifer, Cheshire, Boris ) Gender Identity/Sexualities Twilight is a genderfluid pony, they use all pronouns depending on the day and they have a few different names, Twilight is for when they feel Non-binary, Dusk is for days they feel Masculine and Dawn is for when they feel feminine. They are Aromantic and Asexual Rainbow dash is Transmasc nonbinary he usually sticks to they/he but has been known to use neopronouns like Feather/Featherself or Bolt/Boltself. He is Gay and Aromantic Rarity now known as Oddment is Transmasc, he primarily uses He/him but sometimes and only with people he's comfortable with he will use Neopronouns Gem/Gemself. He is Bisexual Fluttershy is a Nonbinary pony, using They/them pronouns, Their neopronoun list is a bit long but they mostly use Bun/Bunself and Chirp/chirpself. Body morph/types Twilight you're average pony body, not too chubby but not too thin just the perfect pony body, They have scaring from their endeavors as a pressure of magic, most notable is the Lichtenberg-like scar that stems down from Their horn from the day they got their cutie mark. Rainbow dash, has an incredibly toned body, being part of the Wonderbolts he had to undergo vigorous training to get his body in the right shape, having major upper and lower body strengths but also keeping his body thin enough to make nimble movements and perform tricks. his scars are minor just small ones from flying accidents, he has top scars on his belly I don't care if magic exists Oddment has a bit of muscle mass but not too much, mostly from lifting heavy geodes with his magic and his hooves Oddment has a few scratches here and there but his coat is wonderfully intact, his vitiligo paired with albinism tends to go unnoticed with how pale his coat is Fluttershy is very Tall and very noodly thin, they have bat wings due to the day they turn into a fruitbat, some of the changes remained including sharp K9s and the bat wings, she also has a large claw mark scar on her shoulder from facing a manticore AppleJack is a very muscular pony she really doesn't mind her large build and she can't lose the muscles anyways because she is a workhorse, she has a few scars and stretchmarks from her muscles Pinkie pie is small and chubby with a bunch of energy, they have stretchmarks from her weight, and funny enough they have a burn scar on her lower left leg because of a misfire of a confetti canon, they weren't allowed to party for a bit. Discord tho he might look like a tube, she is actually a bit chubby, they have a large scar on his stomach from some magic during its chaotic rein. Neurodivergent (:D Projecting! TwT I need to project on my fav characters shhh) Twilight, Echolalia, and Autism, Twilight to me often have a hard time responding to people, They have a liking for routines, schedules, and major preparation to make sure things go right, and things go their way. They tend to have major meltdowns when things don't go right "Lesson Zero" being one of them. They miss social cues a lot as well. I believe they would stim while they are reading like chewing on their hooves or when they get their wings stretching and folding their wings as well as fluttering them when they are happy some vocal stims would be squeaking definitely or imitating spike's roar when he sends off a letter. Rainbow dash is def autistic and has dyslexia as well. RD can be pretty blunt and straightforward, sometimes seeming to not have a filter, he st in the Wonderbolts. after getting into reading RD has gone out and got some special glasses to help with reading. some stims involve wing flapping/buzzing, tail swishing, and bobbing his head when he is listening intently. Some vocals still are defiant "20% cooler", Chirping, as well as saying awesome and Awh yeah.

Oddment has mild OCD his workspace is organized as he likes it, and he has his own system with things. His OCD doesn't go so far that it hinders his everyday life but it is enough to cause him mild discomfort when things aren't the way they are supposed to be. Fluttershy has selective mutism, they may come off as shy but they truly are a talkative person just can't do much so they squeak and stay away from ponys since she found that most don't know ESL Equestrian sign language. Applejack has some mild anxiety, it gets so her sometimes and causes her to freeze up but it isn't too much Pinkie pie Add Majorly, and is slightly on the autism spectrum, she hyperfixates on parties and making others happy. She kinda feeds off the happiness of others to mask her own more blank and monotone expressions. Oh, she has too many stims to list "Yippie" "Party Time" are a few vocal ones, Discord has Synesthesia, which is when your sensory stems experience 2 sensory outputs, most commonly described as being able to see colors when you hear certain things. Discord took up painting because of this and painted what each of his friends' names look like to him Species Twilight: American Quarter Horses Rainbow: Painted Oddment: Fresian Fluttershy: Appaloosa Applejack: Ardennais Draft horse Pinkie pie: Miniature Horse

this ask has been staring at me for so long and i can't figure it out but here's my gut reaction:

hannibal's fav is twilight or celestia, he also views luna as his sister. his main six kin is rarity ofc. his favorite season is season 3 and he's really invested in mlp lore. his fav episodes are the first two discord ones.

wills fav is applejack or pinkie pie, he loves earth ponies the most. his main six kin tho is rainbow dash- im right thanks. he likes season 1, he loves the flim flam episode. he annoys hannibal with the song.

alana's favorite character is rainbow dash! her main six kin is twilight, but she would never admit it. she loves pegasus the most, loves the wonderbolts, and she ships applejack and rainbow dash. but her favorite episode is the royal wedding one with cadence and shining armor (she loves the songs from that episode to death)

margot's fav is fluttershy or applejack, she doesn't care abt the show at all but likes that it's horses.

jacks favorite is rarity, he doesn't get "kinning" so he refuses to say, he hates discord and refuses to accept canon. he likes season 1 because there's no lore. he's a simple man.

katz favorite is pinkie pie, her kin is rainbow dash, and she LOVES this show. she has a rainbow dash hoodie. it's too small. her favorite episode is the one where twilight and spike go back in time or the one with that pop star lady gaga pony. big fan of the songs.

zeller's fav is discord, his main six kin is pinkie pie, he watches the show "for background noise". he likes unicorns a lot and the magic stuff. the episode he likes is the one where twilight and spike go back in time.

price's fav character is the donkey with the wig. his kin is applejack. he likes the murder of the pony express episode and loves the cake family so much.

bedelia's favorite is also rarity or celestia, she kins celestia or luna. she also loves ali corns and lore and thinks the tree of harmony is sus. her favorite episode is the discord one too, and she detests the music.

Ooh, ehhh.....this ones a bit painful. Honeycrisp was Rosebud's husband before she got divorced and married Toasted Marshmallow. They had a baby together, as you can tell here, and I imagine Honeycrisp is off to work and Rosey just woke up so he's kissing her goodbye, more on the fate of that baby and the end of their relationship at a later date...

Meanwhile, while Rosebud and Honeycrisp we're married, Toasted Marshmallow S'more ( I'll just refer to him as S'more from now on ) and Rarity's daughter Diamond Crest were together and they had a pretty cute, flirty relationship for awhile, not too serious but they were at least together for about a year. They broke up around the same time Rosey and Crispy did, but on good terms unlike the former. Anyway, S'more works out so he thought he could carry her, but she ended up being heavier than he was expecting and I imagine there were some teasing remarks from Diamond after this pic ^^

After Diamond and S'more's relationship ended, Diamond decided to spend more time with Honeycrisp and be a comfort to him after his divorce. She has had a crush on him way in the past and while they were on such close ties she felt some of those feelings start to resurface. Of course though, Honeycrisp seems to be flawed in the way that he doesn't pick up on other people's romantic feelings towards him unless he returns those feelings ( but can't really blame him this time, the guy just lost his wife and son for Twilight's sake ) and so that relationship never went anywhere. Diamond however, was not deterred and soon found love in Twilight's son, Meteor Star, and they stay a happy couple for ever more.

And of course, the power couple. After the divorce, S'more became to Rosebud what Diamond was to Honeycrisp, but more so, as they've been best friends literally since they were born. S'more has had feelings for her for a long time, way before she and Honeycrisp married, but he kept it secret knowing how she and Crisp felt about each other. And so, after the tragedy that was their breakup, S'more and Rosebud became closer than ever, and eventually they fell in love, becoming Ponyville's new power couple that the town hadn't known they needed until it happened.

I love these guys so heckin' much. I usually get obsessed over other people's characters and their stories, but this next gen is the first one —and the first characters— I've ever made that I'm totally obsessed with, like you have no idea. S'more is my fav and they're all very special to me and I'm so glad I've made them and can make them come to life through drawings ^^ Even if these ones are just bases.

Speaking of which, all bases belong to — @mh-presents ! I am literally obsessed with their bases OMGosh, u are amazing!

Well, for headcanons, I feel it’s only best that you start with Poland first XD

Some of this may be really basic xd:

- definitely afab genderfluid (they/he or he/they pronouns) and bisexual but with preference for masculine people

- probably not neurotypical

- he doesnt only look like Switzerland, but with age they began to act more like him, they became more calmed and reserved, noticed the importance of saving money and thinking before doing something (bc imo Switzy acts more "polish" than Poland tbh)

- with his similarity to Basch its important to mention, that he feels guilty bc of how his and Lithuanias friendship ended, just like he feels about Austria

- they are a huge brony and their fav pony is Rarity (and Pipp Petals from gen 5)

- since he and Italy are both genderfluid and found it out in similar time they strongly support each other and they choosed similar names (Feliks and Feliciano) on purpose

- social life is really important to them and they want to get on well with everyone (except from Russia and Germany, he doesnt hide that he hates them)

- helped younger non-cis countries (for example Liechtenstein or Canada) with coming out and transition

- basically is the biggest supporter of lgbtq people you'll ever met, they hate their government but they dont have a choice and have to do everything his politicians force him to do

- wants to be vegan but doesnt know how to start it and is too used to eating meat and dairy after centuries of eating almost only it
