Closed starter for @hirvenxsoturi
It took Raymond a little longer to return to the library than intended. Once they had settled things with the space cop, Bev, Ray had wanted to go back to explore the books properly this time. Honestly, the odds were in his favor that he wouldn't encounter another agent or whatever. Especially because it was a big library. He just had to not use any magic this time.
Ray was also pretty sure Cyril wouldn't have let him leave, so he just... didn't mention it. While his brother was out working, Raymond took a deep breathe and tried to settle his nerves, fidgeting with the sling ring. Right, he just had to open the portal without being spotted, and then he could explore the books in peace. It'd be fine. Bev had turned out to be okay-ish. Scary but okay... ish. Ray was pretty sure Cy didn't trust him. But it'd be fine.
The portal was opened swiftly and Raymond quickly stepped through, taking a look around before shutting down the portal. He was pleased with himself. He had arrived around midday, it looked like, when the library was mostly quiet. He had a good spot out of the way, he hadn't been seen. Great!
The sling ring safely pocketed, Raymond started his research, getting lost in the books for hours and slowly building up a little mountain of scattered books in his corner.

"Toons come in all kindsa sizes!" Did that mean the floaties were, in fact, toon-made? Only time would tell. They were awfully bright though.
"But it's so hot! If we don't find a way to cool down I'm gonna melt!"

There is, thankfully, no indication of either injuries or antlers. He's careful. "Heh, if that works for you! I just figured I would drop in, its been a while since I last saw you."
Ralph gives a nod, and opens the door to his office for Bev to enter. “It has been a while...” he says, realizing it had been before the situation with Eve. Hopefully the visit isn’t related. Once in, Ralph makes sure to close the door and lock it before nodding to a chair where Bev can sit. “You can drop the spell if you want to.”

Send ♡ + an AU idea and I’ll write our muses a starter based off it! [x] | @hirvenxsoturi | ♡ + Legend of Zelda
The brisk clicking of heels on stone heralded Evie's approach. The doors to the twin's shared study was thrown open with a furious huff. The young woman stormed in and set her Sheikah Slate onto its pedestal before she began to dig through a chest for her riding clothes. The entire time, she murmured under her breath indignant utterings about her latest argument with their mother.

It’s not often Jaden finds himself stuck at a dead end with no leads to follow up on or new routes to explore, but when he hits the end of a road he always seems to hit the very end of it. And it’s frustrating, exhausting even, and maybe a touch hurtful towards his pride as well, but he shrugs off that damage easily, more annoyed with the lack of direction and his inability to find anything useful than his bruised ego.
He’s learned to recognize when he’s exhausted all of his resources though, and to ask for help when he has. Sometimes all he needs is a fresh set of eyes on the situation, or an unwitting volunteer to pull up a lead that had evaded him up until that point. Whatever the case may be, Jaden goes for the easiest and perhaps most simplest route at digging up what he needs - the sheriff’s department.
It doesn’t much for him to get into character as the very real, very deep grief in his heart is always on standby. When he steps into the lobby, he looks haggard, exhausted, at his wit’s end, and just barely holding off that grief he’s weaponized in every sense of the word. And when he approaches the front desk, a very heavy, tired sigh leaves his body. “I need to file a missing person’s report.”

"Heh, don't gotta be so hard on yourself about it. It's not like I'm a whole lot better at talking shit out. Guess we both have some work to do on that front." Judas smiled down at him, keeping hold of Bev's hand. "We'll work it all out together, yea?"
"I do. I know I sometimes...refrain from speaking what is on my mind, and in my heart, but I do. I love you," Truly nothing in all the realms would ever be able to change that, and nothing would ever compare to the way he felt.
He sighed, eyes closing with contentment and a smile on his face. "I would," That alone comes as a surprise to him, ever the pessimist when it came to his relationships as he was, that voice in the back of his head that sounded so much like his own always reminding him of his unworthiness. That voice was quiet today, and he was going to savor it as much as he could. "Though I certainly don't mind hearing it~"

I fully understand why Bev hates my guts. Hell, I hate myself for acting like that in the first place. But I respect him for willing to push that aside and deciding to help us. He is a far larger man than I ever could be.
Wish there was some way I could prove that I'm no longer that person but I don't exactly blame him if he doesn't want to hear it.

Just because something is a success doesn’t mean it can’t be a mistake as well. Much like Bev, Judas is left laying on his back, staring up towards the sky for what feels like eternity as he re-evaluates his life choices. “That hurt you, too?”

“Are you yankin’ my chain, Pam?” Leland raised a brow at the older woman. She smiled through it and topped off his coffee.
“I’d never do such a thing, Ranger.” The older woman cooed, “It’s right here in the paper. See? ‘Young new Sheriff transfers to town.’ I bet you both will be elbow to elbow soon enough!”
Leland slow blinked to force down a grimace. Yay, more people to work with.

Check out who's walking through the clinic door! Its a cowboy!
"Hey there looking for uh...a Doctor Ralph? Is he free?"
The secretary at the desk can't help but beam, seeing what looks very much like a cowboy step in the door and ask for Dr. Cech in such an odd way. "My, Ralph is certainly popular these days," she chuckled and knowing that he was free (from all but paperwork), called him out of his office. And when he did look into the reception and waiting area, Ralph stopped short. "Oh. Bev." He did a quick glance to make sure there was no visible injuries - or visible antlers. "Do you want to talk in my office?" he said, indicating behind him.

In the long run, that would not be to Raymond's advantage, but all he could think of right then was short term reward. He didn't mind Cora, but not having to dodge around in the conversation sounded like a relief. "I- That sounds good," he instead said with a little polite smile. "Good plan." Then he could indeed get back to his books.
Cora, for all of her persistence, did thankfully know when to take a hint. This might as well have been a glaring flag waving around in her face. But maybe...hmmm...
"Alright! I can have him bring a list over! Then you can get back to your books!"

Happy Yule to his dearest sister! For her, some minty treats baked fresh in the oven, and a small, evergreen tree in a pot big enough for it to grow into.
Several of those minty treats were being consumed immediately, the rest being stored away for later enjoyment. The evergreen would be placed beside the other holiday decor in the home to be admired until things were ready to be picked up. After that, the tree would be going to the secret grotto cottage to be planted in the yard. Thank you, brother!
