Summary:

In the distant past, the Guardian of the Milky Way galaxy named Lanancuras began to harbor a desire for more power. Because of his connection to the galaxy, he was able to absorb parts of planets and add them to his strength. As a result, he began invading the worlds he was assigned to protect. In the wake of his destruction, a following of creatures from across the galaxy pledged allegiance to Lanancuras and became known as the Kadrians. Taking notice of his ever-growing power and followers, the other Celestial Guardians confronted him; however, he had become too powerful, and they were defeated. Unable to subdue Lanancuras, the Celestial Guardians each gave up a part of their power and combined it into a single new Guardian, Mushra. In a final desperate attempt, they used Mushra's core by transforming it into a powerful card with which to seal Lanancuras in a prison. The prison was created from the remains of planets that had suffered under Lanancuras' tyranny. Because planets are themselves large beings, their combined strength (along with the power of the card) was able to restrain him. Thus Lanancuras was successfully sealed in a large meteorite.

The meteorite was sent off into the galaxy to be sealed forever. Meanwhile, the way Lanancuras had increased his strength had consequences on the planets of the Milky Way On Earth, around the 22nd century, it was in the shape of a virus that merged with human DNA and destroyed the humans that way. In order to eliminate the virus, scientists worked on combining human DNA with the DNA of animals and other creatures immune to the effects. They succeeded and created a sentient race known as Enterrans (a race of engineered Earthlings) which are based on humans, insects, reptiles, birds, sea creatures, wild beasts, and phantom beasts. Eventually, a cure was found and the human race survived.

However, due to Lanancuras' influence, the Enterrans fought their human creators as well as the robots that worked with the humans, driving the human race to a near extinction state. Luckily, a scientist named Dr. Daigo Tatsuro placed his 4-year-old daughter Yakumo in a sleep chamber in hopes that she would save the human race and find the human sanctuary Shinzo and bring peace back to Earth which was then renamed to Enterra. When the meteor that Lanancuras was imprisoned in struck Earth during the earlier parts of the Human-Enterran War, its fragment had struck an infant Yakumo giving her abilities that she would later discover.

Which authors and books do you recommend for those starting studies in Japanese topics? I know Faure and I already have his books. Is Mark Teeuwen a reliable author? Thanks in advance.

Teeuwen isn't just reliable, he is arguably the single best author to start with when it comes to history of religion(s) - and secularism too, for that matter - in Japan. His focus is somewhat more narrow than Faure's - as you'll quickly notice after looking through his works, he writes on Ise a lot of the time - but I'd still recommend reading some of his books and articles even if that doesn't interest you. That's because he talks a lot about current trends in scholarship, necessary changes in methodology, etc. and it will help you with picking other sources and evaluating what you already know in new light.

Since you're already familiar with Faure I won't say much about him, but I also can't recommend him enough. He's not as focused on specific topics as Teeuwen, and I think he's sort of prone to rambling every now and then, but he is still one of the best in the field imo. Gods of Medieval Japan is in all due likeness going to be an invaluable resource for decades to come.

Assuming you're only looking for sources in English, some other authors I would recommend are, in no particular order, Haruko Wakabayashi, Nobumi Iyanaga, Fabio Rambelli, Sujung Kim, Noriko Reider and Hiroo Sato.

Revelados los proyectos para el Anime Tamago 2018

Los cortos contarán con los estudios Imagica, Robot, Tomason, Usagi.Ou, Nanahoshi y Pinako

La Asociación Japonesa de Animación (AJA por sus siglas en Ingles) anunció los estudios y cortos de Anime escogidos para el proyecto del “Anime Tamago” de este año. Como en años anteriores, los cortos de Anime entrenarán a jóvenes animadores en el trabajo de parte del “Proyecto de Entrenamiento de Jóvenes Animadores” de la Agencia de Asuntos Culturales del gobierno. 

Todas las seis compañías involucradas en los proyectos del 2018 son nuevas en el Anime Tamago La mitad de los trabajos son en 3DCG:

La AJA lanzó su "Proyecto de Entrenamiento de Jóvenes Animadores” en 2010 con el objetivo de fomentar el crecimiento de los estudios de animación nacionales, y hacer frente a la preocupación de que más del proceso de la animación japonesa se subcontrata en el extranjero. El proyecto ha dado lugar a trabajos como Little Witch Academia y Death Billiards (que inspiró el Anime para televisión de Death Parade). Los cortos del Anime Tamago 2017 fueron proyectados en cines de Japón en abril del año pasado.

Robots Rampage in RErideD TV Anime Trailer

  An action-packed new trailer is now available online for RErideD - Tokigoe no Derrida - ("Derrida, who leaps through time"), an upcoming original TV anime set in the near future where humanity finds itself embroiled in a robot apocalypse.

    The official website for RErideD - Tokigoe no Derrida - describes the story of the series as follows:

  The year is 2050. A young engineer named Derrida Yvain became famous thanks to his contribution to the development of the "Autonomous Machine DZ" at Rebuild, the manufacturing company founded by his father. One day, Derrida and his colleague Nathan discover a flaw in the DZs and try to warn their boss, but are ignored. Although Derrida and Nathan are aware of the danger, they reluctantly decide to put off taking any measures, and instead go to Nathan's daughter Mage's birthday party. The next day, after enjoying a peaceful day, Derrida and Nathan are suddenly attacked by unknown forces. At the end of the escape, Derrida falls into a cold sleep machine and 10 years later, he wakes up to a devastated world in the middle of a war. While Derrida is attacked by a group of out of control DZs, he almost gives up, but he recall's Nathan's last words.

  "Take care of Mage."

  Despite the harsh fate that has fallen upon him, Derrida sets off to seek Mage.

  Beyond the time, we reunite — this is the story of a journey for hope.

  Additionally, the opening theme for RErideD will be performed by QUADRANGLE, while the ending theme will be performed in-character by Mage (CV: M・A・O) and Yuri (CV: Himika Akaneya).

  RErideD - Tokigoe no Derrida - is directed by Takuya Sato (STEINS;GATE) and features original character designs by Yoshitoshi ABE (Serial Experiments Lain) and animation production by Geek Toys. The series will begin broadcasting in Japan in October of 2018.
