It looks like 4chan finally got the pilot and pitch bible of Hamster & Gretel shared around.

So uh, like I had done with the Milo Mikey Murphy's Law pitch bible earlier this year, have some things from the Hamster & Gretel one

hiromi's current character journey is making me go insane actually because. god. now she's been stood up TWICE (again, not thru any fault of kevin's, but. still. she's been stood up twice now.) and her selflessness, work ethic, and perfectionist nature are CONSTANTLY being taken advantage of (SHE had to plan HER OWN award ceremony for fuck's sake) and all of this is coalescing now that she has someone who appears to be invested in her and her work and pays attention to her. and we as the audience know this newspaper club woman is very obviously gonna be a villain and she's just using hiromi to find out more about hamster and gretel and kevin and etc. hiromi needs to find out about the secret identities and the super squad needs to have a come to jesus moment with her SOON or she's going to have a mental break because someone used her/didn't put her first/stood her up/only cares about what she can DO and not about who she IS. AGAIN. and i will not fault her for anything she does when she inevitably lashes out/stops trusting people because she has not done a single thing wrong in any of these situations

I've been seeing some people talk about how they haven't liked Hiromi since she broke up with Kevin. I don't really understand this reasoning. Can you really blame her? This is the 2nd time he's stood her up. Unintentionally, of course. It's not his fault. Kevin was kidnapped, but how is Hiromi to know this? All Kevin told her was that he was helping his sister. Given that this is the 2nd time he's used this after standing her up, it's bound to feel like an excuse.

Relationships require communication and honesty. Kevin never gave her any reason for not showing up for their date other than that he was helping his sister. Like Hiromi said, he said that last time. Now it just sounds like an excuse. He could have told Hiromi what had happened, and I'm sure she would have understood. I get it. Gretel has a secret identity for a reason, but they can't keep up this lie forever if the two end up dating. Actually, I can't see them keeping up the lie with their parents for much longer. I've been saying that the only way the relationship will work is if they let Hiromi in on Gretel’s secret identity.

Speaking of Gretel, Kevin may have blamed himself for botching things with Hiromi, but it really and truly was Gretel's fault. She flat out told Exclamation twice, that Kevin was her brother, and painted a target on his back. I get it, Gretel's 9, and one of her characteristics is that she acts without thinking, but she kind of owes it to Kevin to explain things to Hiromi... as soon as they deal with the whole Mrs. Knight thing.

Guess what I'm trying to say is that it's not really fair to blame Hiromi for breaking up with Kevin. Neither Kevin nor Hiromi were really at fault. They just have to communicate with eachother.

I do hope Hiromi gets some focus soon. Right now being Hiromi means suffering, she keeps suffering from superhero bullshit that she exists on the periphery of but she's not allowed to know about that, which is half the reason it means suffering for her. It is funny that she's learning to just walk away though. Good for her.

I love the fact that in the episode where they first become friends, Friday Night Fight, there's a scene where Hiromi puts her hand on Fred's shoulder out of worry and removes her hand after Fred starts staring at it because they aren't close enough for Fred to be comfortable with that physical contact yet. Meanwhile season 2 features Hiromi putting her hand on Fred's arm or shoulder multiple times, with Fred being completely ok with it. It really shows the fact that they've become closer between season 1 and season 2.
