About last point I think both Kevromi and Firomi would need Hiromi to find out about Gretel to work otherwise it is at some point gonna come to same problem. ...Imagine if Hiromi and Fred did date and then there is Fred who is kidnapped from date now. Or needs to help save the day (...Which uhm both are quite possible considering silence of the Tchochkes episode)

...And if like Hiromi is dating Fred, when finds out, I feel like there is gonna be some conflicted feelings when she finds out why she rejected Kevin, so I think she really needs to find out before she and Fred starts being interested in each other for it to work.

I saw the Lauren x Kevin episode because I HAD to and while I think it's adorable, I do find it unlikely. The staff have NEVER pivoted on a ship. The one time it seemed they would (Vanessa x Monty) they resumed to the original idea anyway. Don’t misunderstand, I really like the idea of Kevin and Lauren (two good siblings struggling with being that) and Hiromi and Fred (opposites attract), but it’s just... Unlikely

There's a good chance I'm coping here, but it seems a bit strange to me to just throw away the Kevin x Hiromi ship when the penultimate season 1 episode had so much shipping fuel between the two of them:

It's pretty evident at this point that Hiromi does like Kevin back, so I do hope that Kevromi will be salvaged in Season 2 (and I think in order for that to happen, Hiromi needs to be let known about the truth regarding H&G so she can give Kevin a proper second chance).

Watched Friday Night Fright (the Firomi ep) and I am really understanding now why I ship Fred with Stacy, she's her but opposite. Like, she's not my fave, but she's FRED. I just really love how that ep proved (without spelling it out loud) the entire thesis of Fred's character (maybe even better than the cheerleader ep): She's negative, bored, and not really happy about it, but she cares. She does the work despite how little joy or intrigue she feels because it's right. Just like how Gretel had to do her job instead of win family game night.

Tl;dr: "With great power comes great responsibility... I guess, whatever, sure"
