Ultramagnetic MCs - Funk Your Head Up (17/03/1992)

Funk Your Head Up es el segundo álbum de estudio del grupo del Bronx, Nueva York, Ultramagnetic MCs. Fue lanzado el hoy 17 de marzo de 1992 (hace 30 años) a través de Mercury Records y PolyGram Records. Muchas de las pistas fueron remezcladas por productores externos ante la insistencia de Mercury Records. El resultado fue un álbum que decepcionó a los fanáticos incondicionales del grupo y se vio reflejado en sus ventas. El único sencillo exitoso fue un remix de Beatminerz de "Poppa Large" que no se incluyó en el álbum original.

Trouser Press escribió: "Si el hip-hop solo se tratara de letras inteligentes y ritmos concretos, los UMC podrían haber estado en la cima del mundo. Pero al lado de la sociopolítica callejera de Ice Cube, el drama gangsta de Dr. Dre y el truco de choque de Geto Boys, Ultramagnetics comenzaba a sonar nostálgico".

En una revisión retrospectiva, The Quietus calificó el álbum como "defectuoso pero frecuentemente magnífico", y escribió que la producción "redefine el concepto de funk para la era del hip hop y le da a las rimas de Keith en particular".

RapReviews le dio una calificación de 9/10 mientras que Spin Alternative Record Guide le dio una baja calificación de 5/10.

Naaah, Dis Kid Can't Be from Canada?!! (estilizado como "Naaah, Dis Kid Can't be from Canada?!!") es el cuarto álbum del rapero canadiense Maestro Fresh-Wes, lanzado hot 15 de marzo de 1994 por Attic Records y LeFrak-Moelis Records. Los sencillos del álbum incluyen "Fine Tune da Mic" y "Certs wid Out da Retsyn". La mayor parte de la producción estuvo a cargo de Fresh-Wes, con contribuciones de Showbiz miembro de D.I.T.C.

RapReviews.com le dio al álbum una calificación de 8.5/10 y elogió su sonido underground, llamándolo "cualquier cosa menos un álbum comercial". Maestro también cambió su imagen para reflejar la moda del hip hop a mediados de la década de 1990; "Se dejo a un lado el esmoquin y fue reemplazado por una sudadera con capucha".

El álbum fue un fracaso comercial y después de su lanzamiento, muchos miembros de la comunidad hip-hop de Toronto comenzaron a criticar a Maestro. Sin embargo, fue nominado a Mejor Grabación de Rap en los Premios Juno de 1995. Adema de conto con la colaboración del rapero Percee P.
