The Daybreak Ore is similar to a nuclear bomb, Kinpa's parents' death (and her mom finding out what it was truly for) probably slowed its development, and the Yotsurugi and the government worked together to create it. Or smth.

The eldest sons know about it, Reri doesn't but she doesn't seem invested in the family's business, and Kongo went 'yeah let's give the family reins to my two only minor sons who have no idea what's going on'

Kuran and Kou don't seem to know either, jury is still out on Shikaba and Taira, the missing kids could be linked to Daybreak Ore creation or smth

Ah, and also, ain't no way Ginji doesn't know about it all

Will there be parallels between both the government and yakuza sides having intense, toxic loyalty? Most likely, we lost Gido not even ten chapters ago - antagonists are those who use others as stepping stones, no matter their reasons

The meteoroid cluster can't be the work of the Yotsurugi or any human, that I don't believe

But. They could've known/predicted it/something idk, and meanwhile they had scientists worked on it. To what extend, im not going to theorize about that because we clearly lack too much information for now, but it led to the creation of the Daybreak Ore, which Shio said to contain wishes. Adding to that that since he came after the meteor strike (two weeks ago - when Hibaru was still sleeping), the Daybreak Ore needed that day to happen to collect the wishes (it probably stole them, too)

We know the Yotsurugi family started '[to expand] aggressively into areas like energy development' during the Heisei era (1989-2019) and with chapter 12, we learn that Shio is working on it in the same scene where we first see the Daybreak Ore. (and there's the fact the plant is to pump oil. but it's not its first purpose - it looks like a cover-up. Reri even says the pictures she saw from documents don't look like that, meaning they were falsified)

The thing is though, that so far two different looking-things were called that way. The thing for chapter 12 and 22 (left) and the one from chapter 19 (right)

Besides both having eyes and teeth, they don't look the same, they aren't the same (Shio getting the first just after the strike, Satsuki retrieving the second during the fight with Gido) - which means the Daybreak Ore is either several things or that several things are the Daybreak Ore

As to why Himuro knows about the Daybreak Ore.. well he's been tracking the family for a while, and he takes pride in knowing everything about them. But then there's also the fact him and Torazo seems to have known each other in the past, it's still uncleared if they were close or just knew each other from afar tho.

Reri doesn't seem to know about it, but she's disinterested from the family business. Hibaru and Terasu weren't in it before being appointed as next boss because they're too young, and Kuran doesn't seem to know much about it either which makes me want to include Kou and say it's because they just became adults (Kou being 19, Kuran 20). Also their branch is a club and a security squad - not much to do with energy development so they're probably not interested in what other branches are doing. Can't say if any of the remaining brothers are aware of what's going on, nor if the missing siblings are related to the Daybreak Ore, and maybe its development

Let's talk about Himuro.

First, I'm quite curious about what his wish may have been, since he must have known Kongo was dead - it's probably linked to the family in general, then, since his guiding principal for his hate (and otherwise, simply what kept him going in life, what he built his life around) vanished. Perhaps the ice come from the desire to stop, to trap (people, time, ideas, places, ...). One thing is for sure, and that is that it's tightly tied to his faceless father.

When Himuro eats the Daybreak Ore and turns into a monster, we can see four faces in the last panel. Nowadays-Himuro is the focus, the one that seems the most lucid and not lost in thoughts (and able to communicate, to use language) - he acknowledges he messed up his life and is convinced he cannot go back, so he may as well keep walking forward. Then, there's the side of him hating yakuza with his entire being, only thinking about it with overwhelming rage. Third, the son-side of him who embodies the other reason - alongside hate for the yakuza - he became who he is: he wanted to help his father, he wanted to get rid of outside help, he actually cared for his dad (and feeling like you're the reason why your dad killed himself is not a feeling I wanna learn). And then.

There's the baby.

Himuro has four sides: blind rage against the yakuza, 'protection' for his dad, awareness of his wrongdoings, and a helpless baby without language.

On the panel above, I consider the baby is the second face we're led to see, making him the second important side of Himuro perhaps? Or rather, the one predominantly forming Himuro? Wakui says 'let's make an antagonist describes himself as a clown in one work and shows another as a baby in another work' Himuro is without a doubt immature Wakui truly said his inner child was 3 months old or smth

Another thing in this panel is that once you draw a line to separate nowadays-Himuro and baby-Himuro in such a way neither face gets cut, it 1) follows the line separating the monster's skull in two and 2) it cuts the third face presents here. Which, we can see on the panel following this one, is the face going 'dad...'

If we remain focus on the monster's appearance, it clearly was influenced by how the Daybreak Ore Himuro ate looks.

There's the ribs, the mouth (the monster has at least two of them we saw), the nose cavity(?), the polka-looking dots on its face that could replace the eyes on the Daybreak Ore, ... Of course, there are also Himuro's influence on the appearance, such as his arms, the faces, and the ice (which can also be linked to the volcanoe-looking things on his back, cold//hot). But I don't know what to do with the wings... Where do they come from

On another note, since Daybreak Ores all look different from each other so far, I can't wait to see the future monsters we'll encounter.

Useless end note: I wonder if each member of the Hibaru Faction will face one of Himuro's faces (and then Reri... idk). Hibaru clearly wishes to hear more from (nowadays-)Himuro

I wonder how Himuro felt having to work with Ginji on the same workplace (and more generally - work with yakuza during his time at the plant) especially when he already 'knew' him from before becoming a cop

(because no other character wears hats in flashback, so that's clearly Ginji's back. Also it looks like the fit he wears in Kinpa's flashback in the last chapter.)

He may be a piece of garbage but 1) at least he's aware of it, 2) the baby part hurts
