The Meika siblings! I'm not the most in-depth about them so I'll do both at once but I do have some faves:

Fave Song

youman - Lostalgie for Hime, yugica - Yueir for Mikoto, and rinri - Bokura no Kioku wa Sawaranaide for a duet.

Ships

I don't have much on them character-wise, so going by voice... I really liked how Hime was backing up RIME in this song, so... H/Rime? I feel like either of them with vflower has the potential to be one of the most Gender vsynth ships.

Fave Design Part

Big fan of the demon horns and them being nonhuman in general! I feel like more vsynths should have more visibly nonhuman character designs. Also a fan of miwashiba's art in general.

Headcanons

I'm pretty sure they're spirits of a flower of some sort, so the hc is that the flower tree/shrub they're of is on a shrine grounds somewhere, hence their miko-esque clothes.

basically aperture is like a crypton (the ppl who made miku) and chell is a VERY tired producer named c4ke-P. she recently adquired the apertureloids and turns our theyre sentient! and chaos ensues

GLaDOS is the aperture labs mascot (much like hatsune miku). she's very popular and is featured in a lot of songs, usually in this style

she is chell's shameless fav and makes most of her music with her, but she's challenging (mostly because she likes to crash chell's computer to inconvenience her when she's mad at her (esp. for using wheatley)

she sounds really realistic and because of this, there's a running joke that Caroline's soul is inside her (she actually is lol. also she's her voice producer)

Wheatley is also a very popular apertureloid, but more in a len/kaito way. he's hard to tune and sounds raspy, so many people say that he's "bad". though, many people think he's hot anyway, so he's popular but not for the reason intended. he's VERY insecure abt that and whenever chell is making a song, he's practically BEGGING her to feature him in it. he's her 2nd fave.

he literally has a cult (like the len stans) and is very popular on the meme side of the fandom

in the rare occasions he's featured in songs, they're usually like this

or he gets put in duets, usually with GLaDOS (much to her desmay)

Space Core (Pluto) and Fact Core (Nathan) are twin vocaloids (like rin and len or meika hime and meika mikoto) and they have the same voice provider.

Pluto gets a lot of songs abt space and existentialism (to a certain degree) and is regarded like some sort of kaai yuuki, getting more fucked up songs that Nathan does. he's also the younger sibling

Nathan doesn't get as many songs as space does, but when he does, GOD DAMN they're good. he usually duets with his sibling anyway

chell got to make a song for them when they were released, and that boosted her popularity.

when interacting with chell, they seem to be quite calm (FINALLY) but they talk a lot and distract chell from her work. also Nathan is very protective of his brother. chell finds it quite charming

Rick is the one chell uses the least, but one of the chattiest ones she's ever had.

he's actually quite obscure, and chell also got commissions from his creators to make songs for him

he's a BIG flirt, and also likes to talk a lot as well. chell doesn't use him for THAT exact reason

even with his unpopularity, those who like him are like a cult as well. when he gets in songs, they're usually duets with Nathan. The fandom ships them a lot too. but he does get songs in which he sings by himself.

New VOCALOIDs by Gynoid! 

Two new Japanese VOCALOIDs are being added to Gynoid’s collection - Meika Hime and Mikoto! The two VOCALOID5 libraries already took the fandom by storm as Amazon JP leaked them on their site just hours before the official reveal! 

With their announcement we have some visuals, their names, demos, downloadable content and more! Let’s break it down.

Artist and Voice Provider 

We’ll start off with the basics first. The full body illustrations are by miwashiba, whom is known for creating many album covers and song PV’s as well as being v4 flower’s official illustrator. We also know the two’s voice provider is Koiwai Kotori, whom is known for many roles such as Elaine from Nanatsu no Taizai and Asahina Hiyori from Mekakucity Actors.

Downloadable Content 

MMD’s! It’s no surprise these days that MMD’s must accompany a new voicebank! mqdl is the creator of the MMD’s and a set of standing materials is drawn by Niijima Akiichi. They will be available for free download on the official website beginning March 30th. 

Extra Voice Pack 

You will also be able to buy an extra voice pack of both Hime and Mikoto on Amazon JP! This voice pack features 2000 voice samples (1000 for each character).

Leaked Two New VOCALOID5: Meika Hime and Mikoto! (VNN)

Ha ha I didn’t actually wait for an answer. Here’s a list of vocaloids that are criminally underrated. [NOTE: There are some popular ones on here but I’ve noticed they’ve kind of fallen out of popularity and honestly that’s a crime (and by popular i mean like.. crypton vocaloids)] Long post so.

1. Mirai Komachi.  Released in May 2018 from Yamaha. Voice Provider is unknown as of June 2020. Her design is super cute and I love her.

2. MEIKA Hime and Mikoto. Released March 2019 from Gynoid Co. Voice provided by Kotori Koiwai. They’re canonically nonbinary, They’re adorable, MEIKA is an alto and I love that.

3. Fukase. Released January 2016 from Yamaha. Voice provided by Satoshi Fukase. He’s in this weird place where he used to be SUPER popular but has fallen out of popularity in recent years which sucks because his voice is really nice! His design is also really cool.

4. KAITO & MEIKO [Get the same line since they’re Crypton vocaloids] KAITO released February 2006 while MEIKO released November 2004, both by Crypton. Kaito is voiced by Naoto Fūga while Meiko is voiced by Meiko Haigō. They’re both Crypton vocaloids so they’re fairly well known but I need you all to understand i literally own a bootleg Kaito plush from like his peak popularity and Meiko got like 1 song in Megamix i believe which is a sin. I literally forgot this song was in english so I highly recommend looking into their japanese voice banks but FADE is a really good duet song to show both of them off at once

5. SF-A2 Miki. Released December 2009 by AH-Software Co. Ltd. Voice provided by Miki Furukawa. She’s pink, her original design was super cool and I will never get over how sad her V4 design made me. The video doesn’t show her design at all so here’s a picture of her V2 design because visual-wise it’s peak Miki:

I’ll admit i’ve been slightly ignorant when it comes to Len originals hence why my favourite is a duet.. It’s just a really cute cliche concept about stray cat Len beconing house cat Gumi to run away with him. i like it when they go nya nya nya in the chorus

I haven't been into vocaloid in a while, but I absolutely love these two! Meika Hime (the pink one) and Meika Mikoto (the blue one) have literally gone and stole my heart. Their voicebanks are so good! Hime has the very girly high voice where Mikoto has more of a cool soft voice. Canonically they have no gender (nonbinary). They are spirits, and if you listen to Mikoto sing Macaron, they have a very low voice. I, at first, thought it was a man, but nope! It was Mikoto. I also absolutely love their designs too. Out of the two, Mikoto is my favorite, but I love their duets too.

Hey everyone! So recently I've been going back through my posts in order to make a better ordered list for myself of what songs I've already featured, and because of that, I also started putting together some information about what Vocaloids and Producers have been featured on this blog the most so far! It was fun putting this together, so I figured I'd post the information as a little end-of-the year style thing!
