don’t cross the line
pairing: ellie williams x reader
warnings: smut (mdni), cheating, angst, mutual masturbation, just morally wrong, mentions of alcohol
Parties in Jackson fucking suck.
It’s not like youve ever been at a different party, but still. You’ve read about them in the little magazines from the old days you found on patrols. Small blurbs about meaningless celebrities, a concept you barely even understood, drinking themselves to oblivion. Paparazzi pictures of young starlets in black limousines, rappers getting coked up in dark bathrooms. You never really got it. Parties in Jackson were like a parallel universe.
“They must have made that up” you told Dina, your best friend and trusty patrol partner. “Nope” she shrugged. “Heard that Paris Hilton girl was really like that.”
Paris hilton would have hated Jackson parties. A bunch of old people, and a handful of young ones, dancing around to the beat of an old country song, if you could even call that a beat.
You could have responded with a simple “No thanks” when Jesse had invited you to tonights party. You could have told him you were tired, busy, sick, he would have left you alone - But you didn’t, alas, this is how you found yourself here. Alone, in an old barn, listening to the batshit insane, drunk ramblings of an old fart named Seth.
“Ripped that fella’s throat with just one move” Seth mumbled, laughing stupidly at his own words.
“Go — got him real good n’dirty, I tell ya”
Whoever said “respect the elderly” clearly never met Seth. His breath reeked of whiskey and cigarettes that he traded for food and supplies, and my god, he was standing so close you could see the veins in his yellow tinted eyeballs. You really were too polite for your own good, you thought to yourself, because Ellie would have shoved him away already.
Ellie.
You felt like slapping yourself in the face. What the hell does she have to do with this? Why can’t you just let it fucking go already? It truly was desperate, and pathetic, and borderline immoral, the amount you spent thinking about that girl.
So what if she used to be your best friend. So what if she was the first girl who ever made you feel something, even if it was too late. She has a girlfriend, and she’s not thinking about you, she doesn’t care, maybe never has, probably never will. She left you for her, with that useless excuse of “Cat doesn’t like it when we hang out” followed by a pathetic “We can do it in secret, though.”, when she saw your eyes turn glossy and your breath hitch up. Fuck her, and fuck those memories. Fuck all the nights you spent together telling each other your deepest and darkest desires, and especially fuck that time you almost-
“Hey”
You'd recognize that voice anywhere.
A royal blue flannel button up shirt appeared at the corner of your eye.
“Mind if I steal her for a sec, Seth?”
She sounded raspy, laced with that velvety layer her voice had adorned whenever she had a sip or more of Whiskey. When you drank together for the first time, at the ripe age of sixteen, next to a big bonfire and the ever so familiar scent of pine lacing your sense of smell, you told her that she sounds different when she’s drunk. More mature, somehow. Less fidgety, slower, sultrier. She replayed that sentence over and over again in her head. “Sultry”, she whispered to herself. “I sound sultry.”
Seth cleared his throat, a deep cough escaping his lungs.
“Of course, pretty girl like her shouldn’t be around me for too long, might start acting all wild!” The old man threw his hands in the air, and disappeared somewhere in the scarce crowd.
Your heartbeat was faster than normal, but that’s not new. Not when she was around, anyways.
Ellie stood by your side, hands crossed over her chest. She had a glass of Rum in her hand, not Whiskey. Funny.
“You’re a Rum type of girl now?” you questioned, never meeting her gaze. If you bothered to look to your side, you would have noticed she was staring.
“Fame’s changed me, I guess” She responded, mixing the fluid in her glass.
One week ago, Ellie went on patrol. One week ago, Ellie killed more infected in one go than anyone else had in years. She was the town’s hero, the infected slayer. Cat even made her a badge. She wasn’t wearing it now.
“Cat or fame?” you quietly mumbled under your breath.
You weren’t spectacularly brave with your words, but one glass of presumably expired white wine made a simple girl go very far.
“Hah. Funny” she scoffed dryly, earning her Rum another pointless swirl.
“You’re the towns hero, I’m the towns comedian, we’re both pretty famous, i’d say.”
Ellie’s gaze was fixed on the wall. She squinted her eyebrows slightly, humming in response. You looked over at her, for just a second, noticing the dim light reflecting in her eyes. She was a sight to behold, the most beautiful girl you’ve ever seen. You wish she knew that. You wish you could be the one to tell her.
You inhaled deeply, and it came out so shaky that when you exhaled you were terrified she heard the tremor in your body.
“Thank’s for the save, by the way” you said quietly, apologetic. You even smiled politely, which was absolutely for nothing, because she wasn’t looking at you, avoiding your gaze like the plague.
It’s not like Ellie and you didn’t talk since that night she told you she couldn’t see you anymore. It’s been two whole years. You had to talk, you had to communicate somehow, even if it was through polite smiles and dry conversations during shared patrols. Hell, you even went to Cat’s birthday party you somehow were invited to. Dina was practically on her knees begging you to come with her, and who could say no to Dina when she looked at them with those puppy eyes that could tug at a monsters heartstrings?
“Yeah, no problem. That man’s a fucking dickhead” Ellie scoffed, leaned against the bar and crossed her legs.
“Where’s Cat?” you questioned. Are you sure you only had one glass of wine?
“She’s not here” Ellie responded dryly, seemingly annoyed at your question. She almost tsk’d when you asked. She didn’t look surprised by your rude antics, maybe you got like this more often than you thought. How about that time you told her you’re surprised Cat didn’t pack her a sandwich with a sticker on it’s wrapper during patrol?
“I can tell… why?” you inquired. Your own voice was deeper too, it almost matched hers.
“Didn’t wanna come” Ellie said, stuffing a hand inside her pocket. She was uncomfortable, clearly, and wanted, needed, to make you shut up. It’s not because your presence annoyed her, It’s because she knew she was wrong. She knew she fucked up when she ditched you, and if only you knew how it was eating her alive every day. She had to do it, because in her eyes, she would have done something much worse if she hadn’t.
Being around you when she wasn’t with Cat was hard enough, because she knew she could never have you, that you’d never want her. Not if you knew. You were too smart, and too good, to ever want to be with her. Cat was easy, she didn’t ask too many questions. She’d lay there for Ellie when Ellie told her to, and she would agree to stop a conversation when it got too personal. When Ellie cried at night, and woke up sweating, she didn’t ask why. She let it go, and Ellie knew you never would have. You’d fucking hate her if you knew. She could have saved the world — and she didn’t. He didn’t let her. The wounds she had were too deep, they were clawing and tugging at her skin from the inside. Ellie was a tortured soul, and you didn’t deserve that. That’s why she left, and maybe, that’s why she was here right now.
“That’s too bad” you mumbled quietly. You did your best to make it sound genuine, and you failed miserably.
Ellie scoffed.
“Yeah”
You shifted slightly, and walked over to stand right in front of her. You met her eyes for the first time. Those stupid, beautiful emerald eyes.
Ellie looked down, and looked up at you. She swallowed deeply.
“Anyways” you sighed. “Think I’m gonna go”
“Already?” she questioned, slamming her Rum filled glass on the bar counter.
“Yeah, I’m cold and it sucks in here, so” you said, and smiled politely. It really was freezing, and talking to her like this was painful enough.
“Let me walk you” she blurted.
What?
“Huh?” walk you where? the door? you knew where it was.
She tugged at the loose string on the bottom of her button up. It was ironed, where did Ellie find and iron? Did Maria do it for her? Town hero perks?
“Let me walk you home” she repeated, her voice carrying a touch of insistence. Once again, you found yourself captivated by her burning gaze, those eyes that seemed to hold secrets yet to be unveiled.
“I can walk home alone, Ellie” You huffed, ever the stubborn.
“No” she exclaimed.
“Maria said it’s been pretty dangerous”
“I can have my own back, you know, I’m not an idiot” You scoffed. You knew she didn’t think you were an idiot, why did she have to walk you home?
“I know that — Just wanna make sure you’re safe”
“Gosh, Ellie thank you! thank you!” You said in the most high pitched voice you could fathom. “The town’s hero is at it again, everybody!” You exclaimed, slightly raising your voice, earning both of you a few curious looks from the townspeople.
Ellie wasn’t embarrassed. She was just annoyed. And she wanted to slap you in the face for being so stubborn.
She grasped your arm with an unexpected forcefulness, pulling you along as she swiftly guided you outside. In the process, you accidentally bumped into a few people, hastily muttering a string of apologetic "sorry" and "excuse me" as you hurriedly tried to navigate through the crowd. You attempted to resist her firm grip, trying to free yourself with a burst of strength, but you found yourself overpowered by her determination.
Once she managed to pull you outside, she finally released her grip on your arm, allowing you a brief respite from her firm hold.
“You are not walking me anywhere, Williams” you scoffed. What made her think you needed her help?
“You’ve always been so fucking stubborn” she turned to face you. Her hands were on her hips. Her face wore the same expression she did when you went on your first patrol together, when you insisted on going left, even though she knew you had to go right.
“I’m walking now” you stepped away, and started walking. “And if you followed me — you wouldn’t be walking me home, you’d be stalking me” you exclaimed as you backed away.
Ellie quickly followed your pace, her boots stomping on the snow covered ground.
“You are”
Step
“So fucking annoying”
This was the longest conversation you’ve had with Ellie in two whole years. It felt like nothing’s changed, except for everything.
The following ten minutes were torturous. You were walking fast, Ellie right behind you. No words were exchanged between you, the silence enveloping the crisp air as you both walked in silence. Your attention turned inward, focusing on the sensation of the cold air filling your lungs with each breath, and the soft sound of Ellie's boots pressing against the creaking snow beneath her.
You finally arrived at your place. It’s grey exterior blanketed in a pristine layer of snow. Every inch of its structure was adorned with a delicate coat of white.
You turned around to face her.
Ellie’s skin appeared slightly flushed, with a rosy tinge highlighting her cheeks, and her nose bore a noticeable reddish hue, hinting at the crisp winter air. She didn’t say a word.
You took a deep breath. She looked cold.
“Want me to make you some tea?” you questioned. You didn’t mean to let her in, and she didn’t expect you to ask. She looked surprised, her eyebrows turned slightly upwards.
“M’fine” Ellie insisted, her voice resolute despite the chill in the air. She sought warmth by tucking her hands deep into the pockets of her dark green coat.
“Jesus, Ellie — Just come inside” you urged, the concern evident in your voice.
“If walking you was stalking wouldn’t coming in be breaking and entering?” she inquired, a sarcastic tone lacing her words.
“Just —“ you uttered, your voice trailing off as you reached for the doorknob, slowly opening the door.
“Come inside”
"Fine," Ellie relented, her resolve wavering as she decided to follow in your footsteps.
The house welcomed you with its cozy warmth, though slightly disorganized in its appearance. Yet, amidst the subtle chaos, it remained a comforting sanctuary, always your safe space. Being there brought a sense of solace, as if the troubles of the outside world faded away. And with Ellie's presence by your side, an inexplicable tingling sensation spread through your being.
You proceeded to heat up some water, carefully attending to the task of preparing tea, a familiar ritual.
Ellie never knew where to sit, or where to stand, so there she was, examining every single one of your movements. The air felt thick, like you could cut the tension with a switchblade.
"Your house looks different," she murmured in a low voice, leaning against the cream-colored wall.
“Bad different?” You questioned, taking out two mugs from the cupboard.
“No, just… more stuff” she murmured.
"Well," you uttered as you gently placed the teabag into the awaiting mug. “You haven’t been here in a while, so”
Ellie hummed in response, and bit her lower lip.
“You’ve kind of changed too.” you murmured.
“Tattoos looking bigger. And you look more tired. Plus, your shirt looks ironed, so maybe you even… showered? Woah.” you teased.
“Fuck, you really are funny huh?” she said, crossing her arms.
“Always were a sucker for my jokes” you responded with a sly smile.
She didn’t mean to say what she said next, because that was like opening a pandora’s box. Or, more like, the gates to hell.
“This is the longest conversation we’ve had in years” Ellie murmured. You handed her the green colored mug, your finger brushing her’s for a second. You both flinched.
“Mhm” you took a sip from your tea. It was still so hot, it burned your tongue.
“And who’s fault is that?” You questioned, raising your eyes to meet her burning gaze. It was incredibly impulsive.
Ellie rolled her eyes. She looked baffled.
“You still don’t get it, do you? She questioned.
“Get what? that your girlfriend doesn’t like me? trust me Ellie, I get that, crystal clear.” You smiled, as you slammed your mug on the counter.
“I’m not doing this right now” she declared, her tone firm and resolute.
Oh, did that sentence burn through you.
“I think you are” you stepped forward to face her. She looked terrified, like a lost puppy. Not so “town’s hero” now. Thank god she wasn’t wearing Cat’s badge, because she would have looked ridiculous.
“I’m not” she said quietly, looking at the floor beneath her.
You felt the ever so familiar lump forming in your throat. She owed you.
“Tell me what it is exactly that I don’t get” you spat. The pent up anger from all these years finally just fucking bursted. She left you. She left you for her, your best fucking friend.
“It’s just funny how she didn’t give a shit about Jesse, or Dina, or anybody! Just fucking me, right? I’m the fucking problem?” you blurted. Your voice was shaky, filled with rage. The tears in your eyes started forming. You didn’t even know how much you were holding it inside of you, it all overflowed, at 2AM, right in your kitchen. Right where she told you she couldn’t see you anymore.
Ellie was frozen, her mouth parted slightly. She was flushed, and it showed. It wasn’t the cold weather anymore, it was you. She didn’t expect this to happen so fast. She came inside for some fucking tea.
That’s when you shoved her. And she didn’t even fucking move.
“Don’t fucking do this to me” she begged. Her voice was desperate, and shaky, and what the fuck was she hiding?
You found yourselves standing uncomfortably close to each other, the proximity palpable. The warmth of her breath gently grazed your forehead, creating a tantalizing sensation that sent a shiver down your spine.
She took a deep breath.
“What I did was bad. But — fuck, Jesse and Dina never slept over, you know that?”
The room fell quiet.
“So?” you whispered. You couldn’t even look at her.
“Don’t do this” she begged. Her eyes were glossy. She looked as if she was about to cry, too. Her chest was pressed up against yours.
“I’m not doing anything” you mumbled quietly. Her body was so warm. You felt like you were about to have a heart attack, and Ellie felt like she already did.
“If I would have stayed… I would have done something… so much worse” she whispered. Her hands were trembling.
“What would you have done?” you whispered against her. Dangerously close now. You could feel her unsteady heartbeat.
“You know” she whispered back. You saw the vein on her neck, how beautifully spattered the freckles on her skin were, like a constellation.
“Please” you begged.
That’s all it took.
Almost.
"No," she whispered, her voice barely audible. The proximity between your lips was almost intimate, an agonizingly close distance.
“Please” you begged.
Her eyes were dark, breaths unsteady and fast, like she just ran a marathon. Her chest was rising up and down. She’s dreamt of this moment, for so fucking long. But she couldn’t. She couldn’t fuck more people up. She’s done more than enough.
“You don’t know what you fucking do to me” She whispered against your skin. Her eyes were shut closed. If she didn’t see, maybe it would’ve been less wrong. If she didn’t see, maybe Cat wouldn’t either. She could go home, kiss her girlfriend good night. Walk away. But there you were, pressed up against her, making her head spin like a carousel, fogging her brain with your scent, and your lips, and all of the times she pictured you like this, helpless and begging. She never looked at Cat how she looked at you. Cat never made her feel like she could faint at any given moment. Cat was safe, she was a sunny day. You were a thunderstorm, a cloud, soaking her up. When Ellie said she would have done something so much worse, she meant that.
Cat was right when she told her to stay away, she always was. When Ellie begged Cat to stop her ramblings, Cat told her she looks at you like she’s hungry. That it’s disgusting, that she wishes it was her. She was crying, and begging, and she was right. That’s why Ellie knocked on your door that way. One person she could save.
Ellie’s hands were firmly pressed up against the wall, locking you in.
“You dont know…” she whispered.
You whimpered silently at her words. You were aching everywhere, you just needed her to do something.
“Show me” you said, and it came out more as a plead. You were begging her.
Ellie leaned in, drawing her face closer to yours, and your lips delicately brushed against each other. The electrifying touch sent a shiver down your spine, evoking a soft, involuntary moan that escaped your lips. It went straight to her heart, and then slipped right to her cunt.
Her lips were plump against yours. Just barely touching.
She delicately brushed her lips against yours, causing a gentle collision that sent a jolt of electricity through both of you. A shaky breath escaped her mouth.
“Ellie…” you whispered. Ellie, just do it. you can’t take it anymore.
She abruptly slammed her hands against the wall, causing it to tremor ever so slightly. The suddenness of the action startled you, making you jump in response.
Shit” she huffed.
And her lips weren’t against yours anymore, neither was she.
Ellie backed away. She couldn’t.
Your lips quivered, and there it was. Her precious thunderstorm erupting.
The tears came out hot, and sticky. They ran all over your cheeks. You let out a quiet sob. Ellie was staring, her breaths uneven and her mouth agape. She almost did what shes been dreaming of doing since the moment she saw you. Almost.
your legs betrayed you, giving out completely. You crumbled down onto the floor, unable to stand any longer. With tears welling up in your eyes, you instinctively curled up, bringing your head between your legs as you tried to suppress the sobs that threatened to consume you.
It was a truly pathetic sight, Ellie towering over your quivering body. It’s been two whole years, and you missed her every single day that passed. It was gnawing at you. Seeing them hand in hand, kissing on the street, making out behind the dumpster. Thinking of Ellie hugging her at night, caressing her skin, touching her everywhere, telling her she loves her, fucking her, tasting her and not you. It should have been you. But it couldn’t be.
If only you knew that when Ellie was between her thighs, you were the only one she thought of. If only you knew Ellie had to bite her lip till it bled to stop from screaming your name. That’s why Ellie always turned off the lights, That’s why Ellie shoved Cat’s face down on the bed with her entire palm when she took her from behind. That’s why she always closed her eyes.
Her body gave up on her, too.
She sat on the cold concrete floor, trying to steady her breaths.
“Look at me” she commanded. It was breathy, and shaky, more of a plea than a real command.
You wiped your tears.
“I can’t” you whispered.
“Please” she begged.
You mustered the strength to lift your face, raising your gaze to meet hers.
“I think about you all the time” you blurted.
She huffed in response. Your soft voice was killing her. She couldn’t even respond. She just watched.
“Ellie…” you whined. The distance between you was torturous. There was so much space, and at the same time, no space at all. You could still feel her lips brushing against yours. You wished you could taste her. She yearned for that even more. She felt like something was chaining her down to the floor, holding her captive.
What you did next, is something Ellie had buried deep inside her darkest fantasies.
You delicately caressed your smooth neckline, doe eyes burning through her’s.
Ellie swallowed deeply.
“What are you doing?” she mumbled, lower than a whisper. Her voice was raspy, and her pupils were blown out. She was imagining, for sure, hallucinating, intoxicated by the picture of you being pressed up against her. It couldn’t be real.
“I need you” you whimpered.
She almost crawled right to you right then and there. Her knees were spread open in front of you. Her breath hitched in her throat. Her heart felt like it was leaping out of her chest.
“You cant” she insisted. It felt like she tried to convince herself, and not you. You couldn’t. There’s no way.
“I want you” you whispered, lowering your hand to caress your breasts.
Something took over you. Being pent up with frustration for years birthed such a desperate sight, she couldn’t fathom it.
She grunted in response. Do that again and she’d lose her fucking mind.
You cupped your breast.
Ellie threw her head against the wall. She forgot how to breathe. Her nostrils were flared, and she almost slapped herself in order to convince her that this was real. This was happening.
“Holy shit” she wheezed.
“Please” you begged, and squeezed your breast forcefully. Your nippled hardened against the material, so you gave them a twist, sending a bolt of electricity right through your clothed cunt.
Ellie’s mouth was agape. She was transfixed, mesmerized. Her cheeks grew more red by the second. It was so fucking wrong, she almost told you to stop, but she couldn’t. Her voice felt dry and her brain was buzzing. Her ex best friend was so desperate for her she couldn’t even help herself.
The image of Cat went through her head. Cat seeing, walking in. Cat trembling and crying, telling her she told her so. Cat screaming at her that she’s an awful person, that she hurt her, That she should burn in hell.
Then, you took your shirt off.
And Cat was gone.
Her eyes were darting from your tits to your needy eyes. You were giving her that look she only saw in her dreams. That desperate, pathetic twinkle in your eye. She saw a girl look like that in an old porno she found. Ever since, that picture of your face replacing the actresses burned through her memory. She knew it was for her, you were showing her, but she looked like she wasn’t supposed to see, a peeping tom, a pervert. Her cunt twitched inside her tight black boxers. Cat never made her cunt feel like this.
The dainty lace bra adorned your body. you looked like an angel, eyes red from crying, cheeks still wet, chest rising up and down. She wanted to ruin you.
You stopped for a second, looked for a sign to keep going.
The room was silent, the only noises that muttered were your soft whimpers and Ellie’s harsh, uneven breaths.
“Take it off” she whispered. You almost couldn’t believe she said that. You nodded pathetically. She always knew you’d be like this. She imagined you nodding your head frantically, kneeling beneath her and undoing her belt, way too many times she wouldn’t dare to admit. Her heavy breaths were a confession to all of her sins.
You unclasped your bra, your tits spilling out of it with a sigh of relief.
Ellie was hypnotized, fully staring. She remembered the first tine she saw you in a bikini. Jesse noticed she was staring, and he gave her some advice. “Look at the ground or the sky, pretend there’s something super interesting going on there”
She didn’t need to pretend now.
“Fuck” she grunted, feeling her cunt twitch inside her briefs. Her mouth was agape, she wanted those nipples between her teeth. Her tongue slightly moved involuntarily inside her mouth, imitating the kitten licks she’d give your tits if she could. It was truly pathetic. Thank god you couldn’t see. Her fists were clenched, and she was forcing her feet onto the ground. If she pretended something was pulling her in, she wouldn’t crawl towards you and take you like she always wanted.
You toyed with your nipples, rolling them between your fingers, almost as if you read her mind.
“Spit on ‘em” Ellie demanded desperately.
“Ellie…” You whimpered, her voice was making you grow wetter by the second. If you took your pants off, she could see the wet patch that soaked through your panties, making them almost sheer. You were almost embarrassed, but it was too late now.
“Do it” she commanded.
“Do it for me” Ellie begged. She brought a hand up to cup at her perky clothed breast. She imagined it was you, your tits between her fingers. She wanted to squeeze the fat, take it in, spit on it, latch her mouth onto your nipples, slap them as you ride her thigh, or her face, or her whatever the fuck you wanted.
The saliva ran down your chest, droplets flowing at an incredibly slow pace, each and every one of them teasing Ellie, mocking her. Almost there, almost reaching your sensitive nipples. When it finally did, Ellie was breathing so heavy she almost wheezed.
You rubbed the spit all over your tits, glazing your nipples with the liquid, coating them shiny with your saliva - all for her. You were staring at ellie with your mouth open. You moaned at the sensation, making Ellie shift and slightly slide off the wall. She was gone.
“Feels so good” you whined.
“Fucking shit” She huffed. She bucked her hips, searching for that friction. She didn’t do it yet, but oh she will.
“Mhhm” you hummed, a high pitched moan escaping your lips.
Ellie almost went cross eyed.
“Need you, please” You whispered while massaging your breasts. You were squeezing the fat harshly, almost punishing yourself for being such a dirty, desperate girl.
“Show me” She begged, in between breaths.
“Show me how bad - shit”
You cupped your cunt, your hand feeling warm over it. Your clit twitched. Ellie let out a moan so deep, you almost came right then and there, all over your panties.
You circled your clit through your pants, teasing Ellie without even realizing. I can do it, and you can’t! It felt like you were mocking her.
“Take that shit off — fuck” she huffed. Her hand was resting on her thigh, pinching it. Stay down. Don’t crawl, don’t fuck, don’t cheat.
In a matter of six seconds, your pants were on the floor. You crossed your legs together in embarrassment. What if she saw how wet you were?
“Spread” She commanded.
You looked at her stupidity.
“Spread ‘em, please” Ellie begged.
You spread your legs slowly, revealing your soaked white cotton panties to Ellie. Her eyes rolled back at the sight.
“Fucking shit” she grunted.
Her hand met her own cunt and gave it a stinging slap, followed by a desperate grunt. She moved her veiny hand up and down, almost grabbing her pussy. She felt perverted, and sickly, and so, so good. The friction of her hand on her cunt was followed by a string of deep moans, chanting your name like a prayer. She didn’t even know how bad she needed it.
“Wider” She commanded.
You spread your legs so wide your thighs almost hurt. When Ellie saw that wet spot, she lost it.
“So wet” she whispered in disbelief.
“Show me that pussy” She whimpered.
“Show me that fucking pussy”
You moved your panties to the side, the cold air hitting your clit making you flinch. You swore you could cum just from clenching in and out, listening to the obscenities leaving her mouth.
“Holy shit” She moaned, and cupped her cunt forcefully.
“So pretty” she whispered. It was even prettier than she thought, glistening folds and a little puffy button poking out. She needed to see inside, everywhere.
“Spread it with your fingers” She grunted. You parted your lips with your pointer finger and your thumb, wide open for her. She saw how bad you were clenching, begging for something inside. Your puffy clit moved with every pull.
“Wanna fuck you so bad” she groaned, it was killing her.
“Need to see you Ellie, please, please” you begged.
With that whine leaving your mouth, Ellie unzipped her jeans, and pulled down her boxers slowly, revealing you of the most beautiful sight youve ever seen in your life.
Her thighs were creamy, a mound of soft, dark hair adorning her pubis. Her slick was shining on her milky inner thighs from the boxer briefs she took off slightly brushing on them. She was so wet, it almost glistened like a far away star, deep in the galaxy. Her mouth was parted and she looked famished.
Tiny droplets of sweat were shining on her forehead, making her hair stick to her face. She was a panting, desperate mess.
You couldn’t help but slide your hand up your thigh, and started running your fingers through your glistening folds. Finally. “Oh god, Ellie” you moaned. You wished those were her fingers, if you could, if you only could.
Ellie moaned like a porn star at the sight. You thought she might tease herself, might play with her cunt before doing something. She proved you wrong.
She slid two long fingers inside her aching hole, squelching sounds filling the air. She pumped them in and out, fucking herself like a madwoman. Her hungry eyes were fixated on your fingers caressing your needy cunt. Her mouth was watering, borderline drooling, soft “ah!”s escaping her lips.
You circled your clit slowly, and felt your lower stomach leap at the contact. You lapped your slick with your middle finger, and sucked on it. It was obscene. Ellie’s cunt twitched. She almost came.
“Good girl” She groaned at the sight.
“Faster” She commanded, a deep moan escaping her lips.
You fastened your pace, and she was looking you directly in the eyes while pumping her fingers inside her cunt. With every pump, you could see a milky cream coating her fingers, the sight alone made your puffy clit ache with pleasure.
It was so wrong, and obscene, and pathetic, and you almost came.
“Fucking shit — fuck yourself, show me, fuck yourself” She whimpered, fastening her pace as well. The moans that left her mouth were deep, bursting from the inside of her soul.
Her fucking ex best friend.
“E — Ellie m’close” you whined, inserting a finger inside your soaking hole.
“Can see how fucking tight you are - fuck”
“Faster, do it f’me baby faster” She groaned.
The harmony of your moans intertwined, creating an intoxicating symphony.
“Ellie — gonna cum, fuck” You babbled, drool running down your chin. You were so close, eyes rolling to the back of your Ellie filled brain.
“Please fuck me, please fuck me”
“Cu — Fuck, shit, m’cuming” Ellie grunted.
“Say my fucking name” She demanded, her words coming out so sloppy and ridiculous.
“Ellie — Ellie! Please!”
Ellie almost screamed. She wanted to tell you to come for her, wanted to hear the noises youd make, see your face twist and the screams of her name, but she couldn’t help herself, the sight of your desperate cunt and the look on your face, so stupid, so cumdrunk, so pathetic, begging her to fuck you - brought her to the edge. It errupted inside of her like a volcano, pumping and squeezing on her fingers. She rode her orgasm until it tickled and hurt.
When you came, Ellie almost shed a tear.
This wasn’t just wrong.
This was vile.
She pulled up her pants up and left without saying a word, too embarrassed to look you in the face.
When she got home, Cat was sound asleep on her bed. She gave her a delicate kiss on the cheek, and whispered;
“I’m so sorry”

kinktober 2024 masterlist
a/n; was worried about this one because i was having trouble writing it, but i think i like how it turned out soooo!!!! hope you all enjoy!!!!
The smoothness of the cards touch at your skin as you move your thumb across, eyes bouncing from the cards, then back up to the man in front of you.
The bar is rustling with life, but the noises drown out the longer you focus on the man’s blue eyes. They sear into you, subtly trying to beg for an inch, to find what it is you’re thinking or take an educated guess at what cards you hold behind your hands.
His lips are in neutral territory. No faint smile, but no tension, though his thumb taps to his cards every other second. You count it. One. No tap. Two. Tap. One. No tap. Two. Tap.
There are two other men in the game, a gentleman to your left that’s clearly off his rocker, and a gentleman to your right, who has the worst poker face known to life itself. Your focus is on the blue-eyed man though. Actual competition.
The drunken man folds his cards, giving up more because he cannot even think straight. He barely walks straight to the bar just ahead. The man across from you tilts his head, his slightly messy hair catching your attention for only the moment he’s looking away at the drunk man. The cocky one places another bet. You raise your bet. And the blue-eyed man taps his thumb twice in a row this time, before raising his bet.
The cocky guy scoffs a bit, but your expression remains unmoving. In fact, you lean back in the rickety wooden chair, like this is just some easy day for you. The guy folds his cards and you resist the urge to smirk, your eyes gluing themselves back to the young man in front of you.
You make your bet, then lean back against, the only movement you give him is a slight cock of your head. The man tries to school his expression, but you see the slight quirk in the corner of his mouth as he looks at his cards, thinking. Or pretending to think. Most likely the latter. Either way, you study him more than you were before.
His dark blue shirt is dirtied, no doubt. Probably hasn’t been washed in days. Weeks, maybe. His knuckles are redder than they should be, but there is no bruising. You can deduce he was hitting something though. Or someone. There is a cut on his lip though. A cut in the process of healing. His hair, messy like you noticed before, seems more windswept or hat hair, than anything else. The slight curls near his ears curl around the curve of it, and his eyes, well, they return to boring into your soul.
He hasn’t said much of anything since he sat down. A small hello to the other players. A lingering glance at you. He called you ma’am. It’s not that women didn’t play poker, but it was certainly rarer, especially out here in a middle of nowhere town with maybe three entire buildings and the rest expansive farmland.
The man thinks for a few more moments and you have played enough poker to know he’s purposely building up the tension, wondering if you’ll push through any cracks to give him an inkling on your hand. He’s baiting you, but you know better.
He shows his cards and leans on his arms on the table, a silent challenge, because he would be winning right now with that hand.
If only you didn’t have a straight flush.
The man gives a huff, but a small smile graces his lips. They’re so red, and you catch yourself watching the way his tongue quickly runs over them as he stands from his chair. He grabs his hat, black in color, and sits it perfectly atop his head, pushing it down a moment, before sticking his hand out.
“Well done,” he says, his voice smooth with the slightest hint of a twang. You shake his hand once, then move to gather your winnings into the small satchel at your side.
“You’re good. It was a good game,” he speaks again, adjusting his hat, though you know he has no need to do so. A nervous twitch, maybe, but you’ve already gathered he’s a fidgety guy.
“I know,” you respond, offering half of a grin. His hands drop to his gun belt, shifting one of his legs like he wants your attention to drop to that area.
His fingers drum on his belt, a grin still stuck to his face, but he just nods, and shrugs on a maroon jacket, then saunters out to the bar exit, while you turn towards the bar itself.
Once you hear his boots leave the establishment, you count to thirty in your head. You’re lenient. Your hand snakes down to the gun in your holster, your thumb tracing the handle. It soothes it. Prepares it for the potential action afoot, something you always had to do before a job.
When your mental count hits thirty, you stand, and walk out of the bar. The setting sun still shines bright and hits your vision at first. You shield your eyes, clocking the man’s horse still tied up here.
You walk past the few buildings in this settlement, then veer off toward the woods. The grass of the field swishes against you as you stride slow, careful of your steps as you look around.
As you approach the small thicket of trees, you catch that maroon color.
His back is to you, standing near a tree, so you slowly stalk over, pulling your gun from your holster with ease.
You make no noise, approaching your prey with a staunch air. Your heart is beating. A rapt hitting against your chest, but it’s not nerves, it’s excitement. As you get closer, you realize he’s urinating against the tree, but it does little to hinder you. It only excites you more.
He whistles softly to himself, a tune you cannot place, and it almost distracts you from the task at hand. You roll your shoulders back to snap yourself out of it, then close the distance, quickly coming up on him from behind.
The man startles and makes a quick move to grab his gun, but the barrel of yours digs into the side of his neck before he can reach it. You press your chest close up on his back, your other hand reaching around the front of him to undo his gun belt.
His head turns slightly and you watch him recognize who it is.
Your hand almost grazes his exposed dick, and a droplet of piss leaves him. You snicker, letting the gun belt detach and you toss it to the side,“Continue.”
“What?” He asks, voice more gruff than it was back in the bar.
“Finish pissing, Mr. Bonney.”
Billy hesitates, but you nudge the barrel harder against the skin of his neck and he relents, continuing to relieve himself against the tree.
It’s quiet besides the sound of his stream, until he asks, “Who do you work for?”
You scoffs. “No one.” He finishes, and goes to tuck himself back in. You watch the movement with a deep intensity, feeling lucky he isn’t looking at your face.
“People are after you all over this state and the next. And you made your face known in a busy bar?”
You’re ridiculing him. The tone of your voice shows it, and you get him to turn around, pushing hard at his chest so he’s up against the tree. There’s no question that Billy the Kid, is stronger than you, but he makes no move to fight you. Not yet, at least.
“Guess I had some faith,” he says, keeping his hands held up. You drag the barrel from his neck to the front of his chest.
“How long were you followin’ me? No way you just happened to be there…playin’ poker with me,” he questions, eyes narrowing. He’s trying to study you, but you won’t let him do that.
“You’re gonna come with me.” You step up closer to him, almost chest to chest if it wouldn’t be for your gun against him. His one leg, having been slightly jutted out, makes it perfect to step up closer to him, his knee brushing to your leg, his head tilted to see you.
Billy’s jaw clenches when you don’t directly answer his question, “Or you’re gonna kill me? Is that it, ma’am?”
“Do you not believe I would?” You laugh in his face.
“No offense, ma’am, but you don’t look all that…threatening,” he says and you break your little composure to furrow your brow. Is he trying to anger you? Trying to see how far you’d go? Well if he is, you’ll sure show him.
“Ah, I see.” With a nod, you quickly push your hands down on his shoulders. The shove is hard enough to send him to his knees on the ground and you cock your gun, putting it right at his head, “Your poster says dead or alive, didya know that?”
“Yeah I do,” Billy clears his throat, his gaze up at you. He still makes no move to do anything. He doesn’t dive for his gun that’s a couple feet away. He doesn’t try to steal your gun. He doesn’t try to shove or push you away. He’s toying and it’s killing you.
“Darlin’, listen, maybe we could work out-”
He’s cut off by a shot ringing out. You shot right next to him, so close to him, the bullet whizzed past his ear before landing somewhere behind him. The amount of unadulterated power you feel when you see his expression morph into something of genuine fear makes your stomach heat up more than it should.
“Mr. Bonney, while I appreciate a negotiation, the price for your head is worth more than anything you could possibly give me.” As you cock your gun again, the movement casual, almost nonchalant as though you don’t have the ability to end his life in the manner of a second.
Billy’s eyes never leave your figure. He looks up at you with a glint of what you can classify as fear, but also interest. You try to ignore that second part. His eyes are widened and wet, but you’re not sure if that’s incoming tears or just how his eyes are.
“Your nose is bigger than the poster’s detail,” you blurt out. Why? Why the fuck would you say that? At least you didn’t say he looked more handsome than his picture. More rugged. He’s got a boyish charm that you could easily get hooked to if it wasn’t your job to wrangle in outlaws just like him.
He doesn’t tease, no, Billy still looks frightened. Is that an act? You almost wanna ask him.
“You have been followin’ me,” he says, more of a statement this time than a question. You give a nod to confirm it for him, because it doesn’t matter. And you’re wasting time, gun to his head and standing here while he’s on his knees.
“Now, I’m gonna tie you up a bit so you can’t-”
“I’ll give you somethin’. If you let me go,” he interrupts, his eyes still fucking shining like they hold every single truth of the world. He says it with so much conviction, you almost want to indulge him.
“Yeah? More than the money on your head?” You knock your gun against his head and he winces despite there being no pain from a few small bumps of your gun.
Billy goes to speak, but in an instant, he decides to grab at your hips, and he tugs you down with him as he sits. On instinct, you squeeze the trigger, but your hand was already dislodged from it’s position, so the shot rings out beside him instead of at his head. It makes his breath quicken, as yours hitches, your body sat against him, his hold tight on your hips.
His strong thigh is nestled right between your legs and you glare at him, cocking your gun again and holding it to his head, “What the fuck do you think-”
“You’re a very good poker player,” he says, his voice closer to a whisper than the volume he was speaking before.
Your head cocks, a confused look dawning your face, “I know that.”
“Are you alone? Do this all…alone?” Billy swallows hard, shifting his thigh ever so slightly and you instinctively shift too. The fabric of your trousers and his separates the two of you enough, but his words ring true, reminding you of the vacancy of touch in your life. Suddenly you hate him even more.
“That’s none of your business. But I guess there might be a use for you while I drag you back to Lincoln,” you whisper sharply, getting closer to his face than you might have intended to.
His breath is shaky, “What’s that darlin’?” Billy looks at your lips. You count it. It was three seconds. Three seconds too long and three seconds too short.
“You can’t charm me.” You don’t believe your words. In fact, you wonder if his stupid eyes are entranced with a curse solely set out to destroy you. They’re urging you to do something.
To kiss him. To rub on him. To kill him.
Billy doesn’t speak another word, but he tilts his head ever so slightly against your gun, the tip of his nose brushing to yours. The floodgates open and you surge forward, your usually careful precision breaking as your lips crash to his. The gun stays to his temple like it’s meant to be there.
Billy kisses you back in a slower manner, like he wants to take his time with it, but fuck that. You push into him, wanting to own his mouth, feel his tongue slip against yours, suck his bottom lip till it’s even redder than his natural color.
When he lets out the smallest of moans into the kiss, you start the drag of your hips against his meaty thigh, a rampant, erratic motion that has your finger slipping from the trigger. It snaps you out of it for a moment, but you pull back from the kiss, your breath panting as you grind on him. Billy’s hands never stray from your hips, they hold there, and help a very minimal amount.
His mouth, now parted, his eyes, as deathly as ever.
Billy goes to say something and you shake your head, “Shut the fuck up,” and without a though, you drag the gun to his cheek, pressing it into him, watching his eyes flutter in fear and arousal.
If you chanced a look down to his lap, you would see the bulge growing in his trousers, but you can’t look away from his face.
Your hips never stutter. They’re on a mission, despite the fact you would get more friction if they were off, this is enough. Enough to feel that heat building up inside of you and enough to make you feel something you haven’t felt in so long.
Billy mumbles, “Oh fuck,” as you shift, so that every time you grind up closer to his body, you’re grazing near his bulge. It’s much less friction for him. He barely gets any, but that small amount makes his eyes glaze.
Is he under your curse now? Is that what this is?
Your finger almost slips the trigger again and it makes you grunt out in frustration. Your movements are so harsh, you’re surprised you haven’t accidentally shot the gun. Billy’s eyes flicker to the death trap in your hand, and he goes to speak again.
You pull the barrel from his cheek down to his mouth, the opening grazing his pretty lips. His mouth stays parted, his eyes telling you he too, doesn’t know why he’s got his mouth open. You count to three in your head and his mouth is still open. Your restraint is gone, the grinding of your clothed cunt on his lap prickles at your skin, and you don’t need to think anymore.
You shove the tip of the gun into his mouth and he fully closes his eyes this time.
“Good fuckin’ boy,” you grunt, a moan leaving your lips as you sit up more on him, rubbing on him quicker. Your life depended on it. You push the gun deeper into his mouth and grab at his jaw with your other hand, coaxing him to open his mouth a little wider.
“Y’know, I could kill you right now,” you breathe out, sneering right in his face as a whimper leaves you. You push down a little harder against his thigh, chasing that feeling that’s approaching.
“I could kill you so fuckin’ easily. The one who killed Billy the Kid…that could be me right now…all cause you…you took her fuckin’ gun in your mouth.”
How could he be so pretty with it? His eyes tear as you push the gun into his mouth enough to make him gag, but all it does is spur your movements on. You grant him som decency to take some of the gun out of his mouth so he won’t choke on it, but you don’t take it out fully, the sight of him with it is doing too much. Why do you love this? You can’t question yourself right now, but you know it’s fucking sick. He looks lewd, swallowing against the barrel, eyes fluttering and chest heaving as you rock yourself on him to completion.
When it happens, you moan louder, arching against his body, rubbing yourself on him in quick motions so you can feel every part of that orgasm you so deeply needed.
Then, you squeeze the trigger.
Click.
You have to laugh. A breathless laugh. His eyes are wider. Some of the arousal a bit loss, but still lingering there, and you glance down at his lap, a small wet spot forming on the crotch of his trousers.
“Seriously?” You taunt him and then slowly slide the gun out of his mouth, your eyes stuck to the string of spit coming from him, and the wetness on your barrel.
It’s in the flash of a moment that Billy is grabbing your wrist, his bigger hand holding excrucaitingyl tight to you as he forces you to drop the gun. He grabs it with his other hand before you could make a move and he throws it.
He stands, your wrist still tight in his hand, and doesn’t look back as he drags you the couple feet to his gunbelt, where he grabs his gun, cocking it. He lets go of your wrist with a small shove and points it at you.
You’re stunned for a moment, processing the sequence of events that just occurred, your mind running rampant and your body still jittery from what the two of you just did. You stay leaned back on your hands, at his mercy, “Go ahead then. Kill me, if you must.” There’s no purpose to your voice. You could scramble for your gun but he could shoot you easily. You could run up and tackle him for his gun, but he’d still have the upperhand.
You fucked up.
His cursed eyes and just him. Is this why he keeps escaping jails and lawmen?
“I said, kill me,” you say it again, and Billy’s arm is still straight out, gun pointed directly at your heart. His chest is still heaving and his mouth wet and red.
He lets the moment linger, like he had back at the poker table, then he uncocks his gun, settling it in it’s home in his holster. He leans down to fix his belt on himself on then places his hat back on his head. “I don’t kill women, darlin’.”
With one more look, his blue eyes cast their last spell, but you’re not sure what. Lingering lust? Arrogance? Pity? He backs off, his gait a saunter. Billy full-on turns his back on you, something so confident it makes you gasp.
You’re not sure how long you lay there in the dirt and grass, running through the entire encounter, but you know one thing’s for sure.
You’re going to capture that motherfucker someday.

Friends? Never. Pt.12 (Ellie Williams x reader)
SYNOPSIS: You and Ellie had been bitter enemies for years now but before that you were best friends. You had always planned to be roommates one day but when that becomes a reality the situation isn't exactly how you both imagined it.
SMUT MDNI !!
Hello beautiful people, I finished planning out the whole story and Friends? Never is going to wrap up after 25 chapters! I am so excited for you guys to see what I have planned and I really hope you're gonna love it as much as I do because you have all been so kind so far so THANK YOU SO MUCH and if anyone has any requests I would love to hear them <3
“Hey Joel.”
“Hey kiddo, come on in.” Ellie’s smile mirrored Joel’s lopsided one as she walked into the living room of his cabin.
“Ugh what is that smell?”
“Coffee.”
“Smells like burnt ass.”
“Well burnt ass tastes pretty good.” Ellie chuckles as she grimaces.
“Ew... how did you get that anyway?”
“I’m ashamed of what I had to trade to get it.” He bowed his head in shame before beckoning Ellie into the kitchen. “I didn’t have much on me when you said about coming over so er sorry the food isn’t as good as last time.” He gestures to the plates of pasta and Ellie notices the can still sitting on the side.
“Oh shit, chef boyardee... throwback.”
“Yeah no kidding, tastes a lot nicer warmed up though I swear.”
“I’ll take your word for it.” Ellie grabs her plate and follows Joel to the living room where he sits on the sofa and presses play on the film he had put on. They eat in silence as they watch the film until Joel sighs and puts his fork down.
“Don’t get me wrong, I’m happy you’re here but is everything okay? Seemed kinda out of the blue.”
“Oh er yeah everything’s fine. I just- I know I’ve been distant since... everything and It’s taken me a long time to understand why you did what you did but I think I’m starting to, at least I’m trying to anyway. I want us to be able to move on you know?” There was quiet for a long while after Ellie finished speaking, the only sounds in the room were that of the ones playing on the TV until Joel sucked a sharp breath in.
“I- I’d like that. A lot.” She could see the glassy sheen of his eyes as he placed his hand over her knee and squeezed. “This anything to do with that girl your roommate executed a few weeks ago?”
“So Maria told you huh?”
“Yeah... I appreciate what she did for me.”
“Yeah me too, about that actually... Er she-”
“She’s your girlfriend.”
“Wha- How did you...” She rolls her eyes and sighs. “Yeah, she is.”
“Can’t say I didn’t see it coming.”
“Well that makes one of us.” They both chuckle and go back to eating, Ellie commenting on the film every few minutes and being met with a mix of chuckles and scoffs.
“So he knew already?”
“Yeah probably guessed after he walked in on us in the kitchen.”
“Ha! He knew before us then.”
“Yeah sounds about right.” You and Ellie were riding next to each other at the back of your patrol group, Ellie had got home from Joel’s after you fell asleep last night so now was the first chance she had to tell you about it. As you both chuckled, Rita who was up front signalled to dismount the horses because you had reached the factory building you needed to clear. Everyone tied up their horses and began moving inside. The second you walked through the doors you heard the foreboding sound of groans and clicks, you glance at Ellie to see she’s already looking at you, you nod and she reciprocates the gesture before you all start to push forward, the quiet doesn’t last long as your teams bullets start ricocheting all throughout the building.
You fired your gun twice and sent a runner and a clicker to the ground before you’re tackled to the ground by a runner, you can feel its hot, rancid breath on your neck as he desperately snaps his mangled teeth at you. You struggle with all your force to keep him away from you and as you feel your body being plagued with fatigue a gunshot rings out and the body falls limp on top off you. You groan and struggle to push him off as Lex offers you a hand up. You immediately scan the room for Ellie and see her savaging a clicker with her switchblade before Rita calls for everyone to move, you wait to see Ellie start running and then you follow, fleeing the dozens of infected that were on your tail. You can see the exit of the building you’re being led to and you see three people climb through the opening before Ellie gets to it, she turns back and as you make eye contact, she pauses.
“GO ELLIE I’M RIGHT BEHIND YOU!” You scream to her and you breathe a sigh of relief when she reluctantly goes through the opening only to immediately suck it back in as the building shakes and rumbles and debris begins to fall all around you, right in front of the opening Ellie had just climbed through. “Fuck, we gotta find another way out.” You say as you bash yourself against the debris that wouldn’t move an inch.
“NO!” Ellie screeches as she watches you disappear behind the fallen debris that was now blocking the exit. She throws herself against it in vain as she only causes a dull ache to ring throughout the right side of her body. “Fuck fuck fuck.” She screams your name in a panic. “Please tell me you’re okay!” Her voice is shaky and desperate as her stomach churns and drops.
“I’m okay but we gotta find another- AGH!” Your sentence is interrupted as a clicker lunges at you sending you both crashing to the floor, you can hear Ellie screaming your name and the repeated thuds of her throwing herself against the wall but you can’t reassure because you’re not sure if you are okay. You jam your knife into the clicker’s skull and grip your gun to deliver two shots straight through the fungal crown growing out of its head. As it falls on top of you, you climb out from beneath it and scream a quick ‘I’m okay!’ to Ellie before shooting at the three runners that were speeding at you. You and thetwo other people still stuck inside with you empty out all of your magazines, use every bit of ammo you had, you’re sure your knife is blunt from the amount of infected it had slaughtered. As you’re running from a clicker you notice a large hammer on the floor and grip it tight enough that your knuckles turn white before turning and slamming it into the clicker until it laid in a crumpled pile before you. You take a second to catch your breath before you hear the muffled screams of help from the others as you run towards the sound. You bash the brains of a runner that had tackled Raphael to the ground before stabbing your knife into the back of a clicker and dragging it down as a blood-curdling screech fills the room, you slam the hammer into its head until it’s unmoving on the ground and Lacey can bounce back up with the same enthusiasm she always magically had. “Fuck that was bad. We all clear?” They nod and you begin moving forward desperate to find a way out now that the immediate threat was neutralised.
All Ellie could hear was a symphony of gunshots and shrieks until everything goes quiet. She feels her eyes sting with tears as the panic overtakes her as she continues to slam herself against the unmoving debris blocking the exit she had crawled through without you. “I should’ve waited... fuck why didn’t I wait?” She mutters to herself until she feels a pair of hands wrapping around her and yanking her away from the wall.
“Ellie, that’s not helping, we just have to trust they’re okay.” Rita tries to reason with her as she thrashes in her arms.
“No! Get the fuck off me. I have to get in there, I have to help her!” Ellie pushes a stunned Rita to the ground with a crazed look in her eyes before running off to try and find another way in as everyone calls out to her to stay put, she can hear their footsteps following but she doesn’t care, she needed to know if you were okay, she needed to find you. “Come on, please be okay.” She whispers as she frantically searches for another entrance until she sees a window a floor up that was open. She immediately starts looking for a way to climb it and as she manages to get a footing on a pipe running up the building she feels someone pulling her down again, sending her crashing to the ground on top of Ben. She immediately punches him and then squeezes round his neck with all her strength. “WHAT THE FUCK ARE YOU DOING? WE HAVE TO HELP THEM!” Ben claws at her as he thrashes in her arms and she only loosens up when she hears a thump only to see Lacey dropping to the ground from the window, she lets go of her grip around Ben’s neck as she immediately runs over to Lacey. Then Raphael drops to the ground also, her heartbeat quickens as there’s no sign of you, she storms over to Raphael and pushes him hard enough that he stumbles back to the ground. “WHERE THE FUCK IS SHE?”
“I- I don’t know, she was right behind me when I went out the window.” She looks up only to see no sign of you and the lump in her throat returns making it hard for her to breathe. She calls your name and is met with silence until a minute later, although it felt like centuries, your head pops out of the window before you throw yourself out of it, smacking onto the ground with a whine. She runs over to you immediately cradling you in her arms as the tears that had been threatening to spill over, cascade down her cheeks in waves. You smile up at her flushed face as you attempt to catch your breath, the fall winding you slightly.
“Oh my god, I thought you were dead, you’re okay, you’re okay.” She pulls away to look down at you. “You’re okay right? You’re clear?”
“Yeah, I’m clear.” Your voice comes out as a wheeze and the relief flooding through her pushes her forward to attach her lips to yours in a passionate kiss before she remembers her surroundings and stands, pulling you up with her. You both turn to see everyone on patrol staring at you both with dumbfounded expressions before you roll your eyes, sick of the undivided attention on you both.
“What? You ain’t ever seen two girls kiss before? Shut your traps, you’re catching flies!” You snap and everyone immediately averts their gaze from you both as you all collect yourselves and get ready to keep moving. The thought that you still had four checkpoints to go through send a shiver through your body but feeling Ellie’s hand slip into yours and squeeze grounds you enough to continue your assignment.
“Fuck I was so worried- ugh- I- I thought you were dead.” Ellie breathes out through grunts and moans.
You had barely made it through the door of your home before she was attacking your body with kisses, sucking bruises on any skin she could find.
“Just let me take care of you please, I need to feel you.” She was almost pleading with you as if you would actually say no. She squeezed at your hips to prompt a response from your panting form.
“Take me upstairs babe.” At your words she immediately pulls you away from the wall that your back was against and led you upstairs, her lips never leaving your skin. You both tumble into her room and clumsily fall down onto her bed as you both desperately try and rid each other of the clothes that were preventing you from feeling your bodies press together. As you rip her top over her head your mouth waters at the sight of her already erect nipples, you lurch forward attaching your lips to her pink bud and swirling your tongue around it as she grips onto your hair and hisses at the sudden stimulation. You pull away as she lifts your top over your head, grabbing a handful of each tit and squeezing them together then pressing her face into them and leaving tiny, ticklish kisses over them. You giggle at her actions before she pushes you down flush with the bed, you whine a little at the distance between you two but she shushes you as she stands to yank her jeans and briefs off in one motion before tapping at your hip so you’d lift them, allowing her to strip you naked to match her.
Her hands run all over your naked form as she consumes you with her kisses, the dance of your tongues taking over your every thought. The warmth of her body pressing against yours feels like heaven as she slots herself flush with you and begins grinding herself down onto you. This was your favourite way to have sex with Ellie, the grinding of your bodies together felt like your hearts were merging into one and every thought that wasn’t her left your mind as you feel your core tightening and pulsing as her movements became rougher and rushed. The room was filled with your heavy breaths and groans until she swallowed them into her mouth as she once again attached her lips to yours before sucking a line from your jaw to your collarbones. “I love you so much, you can’t scare me like that again.” She says through kisses and pants as her hips stutter.
“Oh Ellie, I love you too. I’m sorry, all I could think about was getting back to you.” You cry out as the knot in your stomach tightens, you can tell from the scrunch of Ellie’s face she’s as close to finishing as you are. You lean up to whisper in her ear. “Cum with me babe, please. I love you, I love you, I love you- ugh Ellie oh my god!” You chant your words as they’re the only words ringing throughout your mind. You loved her and she loved you and it was the most important thing to you, you used to get stir-crazy when you hadn’t gone on patrol in awhile, you used to look forward to patrol but since your relationship with Ellie had blossomed, those feelings had changed, twisted into feelings of panic and fear because the worst thing you could imagine is being ripped from her or her you because the only thing you cared about was getting to love with her and be with her. As Ellie gazed at your beautiful face, slightly shiny from the sweat that was generated from the heat between the both of you, she realised she hated how patrol had made her feel recently because all it did was increase the risk of her not getting to grow old with you and that was all she wanted, to grow old and die in your arms because the thought of losing you sent her into a spiral she felt she’d never escape.
As you both finish with whines and moans, you expect her to slow down but she doesn’t which elicits a scream from you at the overstimulation. “Come on baby, give me another one, please, I just need you to give me one more.” She breathed out and the desperation in her voice was enough for you to fight through the urge to squirm and shy away from the feeling of her slick clunt gliding against yours roughly. It wasn’t long before her pace was faltering as she leant down to hold onto you for leverage as her body trembled as both of your second orgasms washed over you, your toes curled and you bit down onto her shoulder hard enough to draw blood as you felt lightheaded and dizzy from the force of your second release. As both your bodies relaxed and she collapsed fully onto you you released from her shoulder and kitten-licked at the wound before kissing her so she tastes her blood on your tongue, she moans into your mouth, a high-pitched moan that had both your eyes snapping open, her cheeks flush even darker than they already had before she cracks a small lop-sides smile and that you gigglle at. “Sorry about that...” You mutter sheepishly as you glance at the bite mark on her shoulder.
“It’s okay, that was hot.” She kisses your forhead before lying down on top of you once again as your heartbeats and breathing sync, her thumb drawing circles on your hip and your hands scratching at her back. She sighs into you before squeezing at your hip a little. “I think I might wanna do less patrolling, try and pick up some jobs in Jackson-” She was ready to explain herself, thinking you’d call her a pussy and tell her to stop being silly but your soft tone shocks her.
“Me too, today made me realise we’re so lucky to live in Jackson, where it’s safe and where we can have a pretty normal life and every time we leave those walls voluntarily we’re taking it for granted. We already lost 3 years, I don’t want our time together to be cut short.”
“Fuck you’re so perfect.” You giggle and press a kiss to the top of her head as you both relax into the comfort of your bodies being pressed together without anything between you both, her soft skin caressing yours. “We’re kinda becoming the pussies we used to make fun of.”
“Oh god don’t remind me.” You whine before sighing. “It’s all your fault though.”
“My fault?!” She gasps and pinches you as you squeal. “You know if I wasn’t so wiped we’d totally be fighting right now.”
“Mhm sure.” You reply monotonously not believing a word that leaves her pretty lips.
“No I’m so serious, you wouldn’t know what hit you.” She barely gets her sentence out before a loud yawn leaves her causing her to glare at your smug face.
“I believe you babe, get some sleep, it was a long day hm.” She nods and lays her head back down on your bare chest with a content sigh as you both feel the tiredness consume you and drag you into slumber.

Yours Truly, Romeo
Chapter 3 __ Possible Connection
Spencer Reid x FOC
Summary: Washington, DC - A string of grizzly murders and obsessive love letters causes Olivia and Spencer’s paths to intertwine. With a serial killer proclaiming his undying devotion to her and the thick tension surrounding her and her agent turned bodyguard, Olivia’s life is writing out like a contemporary love story that she, as a successful writer, could see herself publishing.
a/n: yes I used two actual romance book titles in this chapter. Brain was malfunctioning with giving titles so hope that’s alright
Previous chapter || series masterlist || next chapter
"A pair of star-crossed lovers take their life." - Prologue, Romeo & Juliet by William Shakespeare
Olivia was surrounded by police officers riffling through her once safe home. Her solace now invaded with too much testosterone endlessly asking questions as if she had any clue as to who would send her such a horrible thing. Repeatedly saying no until she was blue to her face, she was then told that they had called in the big guns for her case with no explanation as to what they had meant.
And within a few hours, she had figured out what they implied. The FBI had gone and come knocking on her door.
“Hi, Ms. Olivia Hill,” a dark skinned, t-shirt wearing man approached her with a lanky, tall male a few steps behind him. “My name is Agent Derek Morgan, I work for the FBI and this is Dr Spencer Reid. We’d like to ask some questions regarding the letters.”
She dropped her head into her hands, feeling a headache coming. “I’ve already told everything I could to the police officers earlier, I don’t see how me telling it again could be much of help.”
“Actually, we’d like to know more about the two letters the unsub has sent,” the doe eyed, sweater vest wearing agent clarified. “In both of the letters, he used quotes from Romeo & Juliet by Shakespeare, do you have any idea as to why he’s relating that famous romance write up to you?”
“Maybe it’s because I’m a writer. Honestly, I don’t know,” she stressed out. “All I do is write romance novels, that’s not a crime nor is it a high risk lifestyle. So why me?”
Both men shared a look, clearly noting that she was fraying at the seams. Derek silently signaled to Spencer to stay put while he took a look around the house for any leftover clues and to profile the victim. Spencer then proceeded to sit in silence in front of Olivia, hoping his presence would bring a small sense of comfort.
She was beautiful even when frazzled, taking note of her profile. Her amber eyes speckled with hints of gold framed with red rims no doubt from crying. Wavy chestnut hair with hints of maroon underneath the sunlight entering the study windows. She had the type of subtle beauty that would attract even a stranger walking past the street to do a double take.
“Have you had a lot of cases like these?” She asked, bringing him back from his musings.
“Do you mean stalking cases? Yes we’ve had our fair share of stalking cases,” he explained further. “Statistically speaking, an estimate of 13.5 million people are stalked in a one year period and the vast majority of victims are stalked by someone they know—40% by a current or former intimate partner and 42% by an acquaintance.”
She furrowed her eyebrows, clearly intrigued with the agent in front of her. “And how do you know all that? The statistics I mean.”
“It’s based on a government report,” he shrugged nonchalantly.
“You know, you look a little bit too young to be a Doctor and an FBI agent,” she slightly smiled. “Let me guess, PhD instead of MD, is that right?”
“3 PhDs actually.”
Her eyes widened. “You’re a genius then.”
“I don’t believe that intelligence can be accurately quantified but I do have an IQ of 187, Ann eidetic memory, and can read 20,000 words per minute,” he stated. “But yes, I’m a genius.”
“Well then Dr Spencer Reid, do you have a statistic for me on how many of stalking cases get solved without the victim ending up dead?” She questioned as her fingers started drumming on her thighs.
A nervous tick of hers, he noted.
“85% of women who reported stalking survive murder attempts with the help of authorities,” He stated reassuringly as the slight smile on her face falls, replaced with a furrowing of her eyebrows. “We’ll keep you safe, there’s nothing to worry about.”
She took a deep breath trying to push the morbid thoughts of being kidnapped and dying out of her scattered mind. “Can you distract me, please? I—I find your voice and ramblings quite comforting.”
He felt his cheeks and ears warm at that thought. Usually the team found his monologues quite tedious and never lets him finish and here was an attractive stranger telling him otherwise. “You mentioned that you write novels for a living. Any chance I could have read one of them?”
Her laughter fills the room and warms the deep crevices of his heart.
“Unless you’re a closeted romance reader, I don’t think so. You strike me as more of a classic literature or academic reading type of guy,” she teased. “A Dostoevsky or Tolstoy type of reader.”
“You’re right. That's some great profiling,” he bantered back, glad to have successfully distracted the damsel in distress in front of him. “And you're a Bronte or Austen fan."
“Austen. Specifically her work, Emma.”
He appraised her with a smile. “A true romanticist then.”
“Well, I am a romance writer after all,” she blushed, heart skipping a beat at his wide boyish grin. Her palms sweaty as she realized her attraction to the genius in front of her even with the frightening scenario that led them to cross paths.
That thought sobered her up. “You mentioned that I might know this unsub—”
He nodded, silently waiting for her to continue.
“—I played Juliet once for a high school play, do you think that’s why he calls me that in his letters?”
“Yes—yes that could be the link,” he quickly answered. “Is that an information that anyone near you and your circle would know of?”
She shook her head. “It’s not something I advertise. I mean, my acting wasn’t great and I was actually just the understudy of the understudy forced to take the role since the actress and her first understudy both got hit with a stomach flu. It’s actually what led me down to the path of writing.”
“Can you think of anyone who would know that specific detail?” He asked urgently, bringing out his phone ready to contact Garcia for a background check.
She rambled on the names of her publicist, literary agent and immediate family members.
“Hey Garcia, I need you to run a background check on Olivia’s publicist and literary agent,” Spencer stated over the phone with no time for pleasantries. “See if they have any connection to Maryland.”
“Maryland?” Olivia repeated under her breath, confusion marring her face as she pondered about the new piece of information that seemed vital for the FBI to note.
She closed her eyes as her mind started to look for a pattern regarding the incomplete information she was privy to. The images, the body parts and her life as she knew it. Like a lightbulb going off on her head, she gasped and quickly rounded to her bookshelf lining the walls of her study.
In the background, Spencer noticed her agitated and hurried actions. “Garcia, I’m going to have to call you back.”
She pulled out all the printed first draft copies of her books and all its final published version. Flipping them open on the table, she scanned the inks on the pages, comparing the details typed out on her first draft and the missing on the published print, as he approached from behind her.
“Oh god,” she repeated again and again under her breath.
Spencer squeezed her shoulders to stop her from hyperventilating. “I need you to take a deep breath for me—“
She followed, grateful for his presence.
“—and tell me what is, Olivia.”
“I—I know why he’s doing all of this,” she sobbed out as she tried to unsuccessfully stop the tears from leaking. “It’s me—my writing that he’s basing it on.”
“Your writing?” He clarified, stroking her hair to ease her cries.
“He’s, oh god—uhm—he’s collecting all the characteristics of my male leading characters. But how could he know those details? We edited those out of the published pieces.”
He held her hand and quickly scanned the opened pages on the table. The light skinned torso clean of any hair from her first book—Lovers of Midnight. The veiny arms and hands from her second book—Love, Theoretically. And the chiseled jawline and high bridge nose from her latest unreleased book—Book Lovers.
Spencer called Derek back into the study.
“Reid,” he stated, noting the tears in Olivia’s face and the intertwined hands in between the two occupants of the room with an eyebrow raised. “You have something?”
He nodded, squeezing Olivia’s hand in his. “I think we have our profile.”

Episode 6 is just so damn good not to dissect
1 - I don’t care what Lilia see in his future, the first act she did is prioritize protecting Billy.
We see time and time again how in the MCU, heroes first act with intention of protect but it doesn’t always end well (age of ultron, civil war, etc.). Of course I won’t defend her if you see that action is a wrongful move, but don’t go and try to change my mind about her character. Lilia is a caring loving witch despite hundred years of people turn their back on her warnings, chase her away.
Also given how Billy will appear in the future where the battles stage will be much bigger, much chaotic, I don’t think Lilia can see clearly everything, all she can conclude is his path will not be easy but his role is important, that’s why she tried to protect him.
2 - “I died that day” - which is 100% true wherever he is Billy or William.
Billy did experienced his own death when the Hex go down, plus (even though William is dead) there is body experience too, he might not experience the pain of the crash impact but there is definitely the after shock, and of course all the blood and broken things (duh). So the whole ambulance ride, the hospital stay, Billy is in shock. Not to mention he might feel Tommy’s death too. So, trauma x 3 i guess (yike!).
The reason the sigil works on both Billy Maximoff and William Kaplan is because:
The body is William Kaplan.
The soul is Billy Maximoff.
The existence being doesn’t know which one he is.
3 - Billy doesn’t know his identity despite he remembers Wanda, Vision and Tommy is completely makes sense.
Here is the reality in front of him:
He went to sleep with his brother, experience his and Tommy’s death as the Hex go down.
Wake up in a car accident, with his parent who look completely different with how he remember them, and he’s the only child.
=> Which is real, which is not? Did he died in that car and have a near-death dream? Remember that to the public knowledge, the Hex is “Avenger exercise gone wrong”, with something to do with Wanda and Vision. No one in Westview talking about it, so the existence of Agatha and Tommy is known to none. SWORD might kept an eye on Agatha, but not Tommy. So despite his memories, reality tells him the difference. Until Bohner confirms for him that he is right to doubt reality. That’s why the look on Vision’s house, that’s why he has no trouble to say “Billy Maximoff” to Agatha, that’s why he choose the pendant (he might saw it on Agatha back in the Hex).
4 - There is a high chance Billy is the one summoned the gate of the road.
There is a scene where he standing on something look a lot like it, with his signature blue star. But maybe he couldn’t open it without a coven, hence all the recruitment scenario. Plus, a lot of references using in the trials can be found in Billy’s room.
Do you remember how the gate mysteriously appear despite the coven bad attempt of singing the song? (Billy has reality-warping power fyi). Agatha then screamed at them to just blast her so she can steal their power. I suspect there is more than one way to get to the road:
A coven sing the song perfectly so the gate can appear.
A witch can summon it for the coven if they can’t sing (lol).
Now I think Agatha rather make everyone sing the song than teaching those witch on how to summon the gate. It’s definitely within her character. When did Billy do that, you ask? When he prepare for the coven “party”, before he hang up that coven papers Agatha immediately rips off.
Also a plot twist if that wasn’t the case, the finale ending is Agatha getting domestic chaos with Rio (the scenes where Rio blow Agatha’s house on her). We didn’t see Billy in that. Maybe somehow Billy get sent out of the road, so he summons the gate to get back in there (yes I want Joe Locke singing the damn song too).
Another plot twist is an open ending for Billy: he walks the road again, by himself this time, to get Tommy back or getting more power or chasing after Agatha (for whatever happens to her at the finale).
#aaa spoilers#agatha all along#agatha harkness#billy maximoff#agatha all along episode 6#i will have to do a different post on billy and agatha conversation because that shit is pure gold acting

Hello Mr. Porcupine
Author’s note: So… this is a silly random thing, after watching a few videos of unlikely wildlife and children interactions that are super cute and wholesome.
Summary: There are fragments of holo-videos of a motherly baseline human talking about interactions of her son, a blond haired, blue eyed child, and a creature.
Warnings: Fluff! Let me know if I need to add anything else

The Historitor rubs one of his eyes as he clicks on the next video and stares at it. For some reasons there is no calendar system to see when these videos are from.
He can guess some are more 'recent' while others are 'older' because of the relative age of Robu. Some videos are from when he was very younger, some are when he's almost an adult, some are from when he's in between those ages.
Some of the rare videos when he's a teen-ling there is something about his features- they remind him of someone. Someone very important and his brain twinges as he racks his brain to try and figure out just who the boy reminds him of?
That is not an animal.
Possibly he's the ancestor of some important individual within the imperium? He scratches his head and watches the next video, it's of Robu is his teen years and he's watching a large spikey covered animal as it moves.
Why is the shadow twisting and warping?
Robu has that look on his face, that all young teen men have- he's about to try to do something foolish, more than a bit dumb and possibly quite dangerous as he stalks after the animal with a look of intense focus.
"I bet you can't catch it!" a fellow teenager voice taunts from behind the camera.
He shakes his head, "That'll be a visit to the Apothecarion for you young man if you try, those spikes look wickedly sharp.
Why is the creature both flesh and metal?
There is something about the animal in question, it looks almost... metallic in some ways? The way it moves and the way the spikes, which take on a far more sinister gleam? Gleam? It can't shine, it's not made of metal.
The sounds it makes are far to human.
Robu does manage to grab the animal and it lets out an enraged shriek. With almost impossibly fast reflexes Robu turns the animal and avoids it's spines as it shoots it out in self defense.

We need to start giving Dr. Conrad more credit. Yes, yes the underage human experimentation, rip I guess. But consider, while Vash had to carry the emotional burden of Knives killing maiming girlbossing all over noman’s land, it was Dr Conrad who had to spend a century and a half in person with Knives. Can you fucking imagine being him? The little Elsa-looking bitch names himself Millions fucking Knives and never looks back from there and you’re just along for the ride. I’d like to think it was chill when it was just Dr. Conrad, Knives, their penthouse and the piano, but then Knives starts a cult and now there’s a group of monster high-ass mfs running around and there’s this blue haired cunt who is the walking definition of the word bitch and who calls you priest william even though you’ve been a doctor for one hundred and fifty years and going now, and the blue-haired bitch in question spends most of his time licking the floor after Knives has walked on it, and time is passing and Knives’ eyes are getting angrier and he doesn’t compose anymore, just plays the same song over and over, and sometimes you wonder how the other boy is doing, the other boy you’ve only seen once so many years ago, and you’ve watched him lose his arm, watched his sister get torn apart, and you’re tired and Knives is angry and you see Tesla in his face and Nicholas is the only one approaching normal out of every single of your little baby Frankensteins, you feel something resembling hope when you look at Elendria and then the end is coming, and you’re ready, and then you realize that maybe all this could have been avoided if you weren’t too worried about beating the incest allegations, and then everything goes to shit and you’re stuck in your flying saucer car with that blue-haired bitch who is ugly sobbing all over your patent-leather seats because Rem’s little boys are dead- I just think we should give his feelings on the matter some thought.

bright spots - chapter 3
Series Chapter Index | Read on AO3 | In progress
Rating: Teen Words: 2.5k Series tags: The Last of Us, The Last of Us (HBO), Joel & Ellie, Joel Miller, Ellie Williams, Marlene, canon divergence, hospital AU, medical stuff, blood, hurt/comfort, angst, canon-typical violence, vomiting, implied rape/sexual assault, I've probably forgotten some so please let me know <3
Joel
When he can stay awake for more than an hour at a time, he sits in the hard plastic chair by Ellie’s bed, allowing himself to doze while she’s awake; otherwise, he makes it his job to keep watch. It’s partly out of habit, and partly because he doesn’t trust Marlene or her Fireflies any more than he trusted the random strangers they encountered on the road.
When Ellie catches on, she rolls her eyes and tells him to go back to bed, but he doesn’t miss how she shies away from the male guards who accompany Marlene on her regular check-ins, doesn’t forget how she fell asleep clinging to his side when he was sick. She puts on a brave face, but they’ve spent enough time together he knows when she’s anxious or scared.
Nurses come and go, but they don’t do more than take Ellie’s vitals or bring food and take away the empty trays. At points he’s nudged awake and asked to follow a penlight with his eyes, then he’s handed a couple of pills.
“It’s Tylenol,” the nurse says when he looks at her the first time. “Your head’s killing you, right?”
It is. He doesn’t take the pills.
For all her protests, Ellie sleeps a lot, too. But after a couple days of just sitting around, she nudges him out of a light sleep with obvious irritation.
“Dude, you stink. They have hot water.”
“Not leavin’ you alone–”
“I’m not ‘alone’, the bathroom’s right there,” she says, gesturing to the door on the other side of the room. “And I think I can take care of myself for ten minutes.”
“I know that. I trust you. But I don’t trust them,” he mutters.
“What’re they gonna do? They’re not going to kill me, Joel. They need me.”
I need you more , he thinks selfishly.
“Seriously. If they come at me with a needle I’ll yell or something. But I’m gonna pass out if I have to keep smelling you. You’re a fucking biohazard.”
“Fine. Ten minutes,” he grumbles. “But don’t move. And if anyone comes in here–”
“I’ll scream bloody murder,” she says flatly, waving her hand in front of her nose. “Just go , stinky.”
Marlene left them fresh clothes; pre-outbreak scrubs scrounged from the hospital lockers if Joel had to guess. He grabs a set of light blue ones and shuts the bathroom door behind him none too gently.
In the sterile, antiseptic-laden air, he has to admit Ellie is right. He’s foul. He starts the shower and turns it to the hottest setting. The water pressure is furious and the tiny room immediately begins to fill with steam.
He gets his first look at himself in the mirror over the sink and flinches at the sight. Hair shaggy and matted, patchy beard grown over with stubble, and bruises and scrapes dot his face. There’s a crusty brown scab on one side of his head and he can feel the goose egg knot at the back, both still tender. The picture doesn’t improve when he eases out of his flannel and peels off his soiled undershirt, wincing; his stomach bears a dark purple-red mark in the shape of a rifle butt and he can see the outline of his ribs.
Turning away, he finishes undressing and steps under the stream. The pressure on his bruises and cuts is a special kind of agony, but the heat loosens his muscles. The water at his feet runs a murky gray-brown for several minutes. There’s a single bar of soap–no shampoo, no conditioner, none of the fancy stuff they had in Jackson. The thought brings an unexpected pang of homesickness for a place he has yet to call home. He thinks he should try to find a way to make contact with Tommy, let him know they made it, but he doesn’t know how to go about it without revealing his brother’s location to the Fireflies and putting the settlement at risk. He shelves the idea for now, another problem for another day.
It takes longer than his promised ten minutes just to get the layers of road dirt and grime off his skin, out of his hair. When he finally emerges from the shower, his flesh is a raw bright pink and he’s almost woozy from the heat, but he feels slightly closer to human.
Voices outside put a knot in his throat.
He stumbles into the scrub pants and yanks open the door. Marlene is sitting on the end of Ellie’s bed, and he’s obviously interrupted a conversation.
“Get away from her,” he growls.
Marlene arches an eyebrow. “Joel–”
“Don’t care, get out,” he snaps.
“Call off your dog, Ellie,” Marlene smirks.
“Dude, gross,” Ellie mutters, face flaming. “Put a shirt on. No one wants to see that.”
Frustrated, he turns back and grabs the scrub top, yanking it over his head. Wet patches dot the shoulders where his hair still drips. He has the vague notion that he can’t be very threatening looking like a scruffy drowned rat in blue pajamas and makes a mental note to wash out his real clothes the first chance he gets.
“We’re just talking, Joel,” Marlene sighs when he comes back.
He ignores her, turning to Ellie instead. “Thought I told you to get me.”
“Well, she didn’t try to stick me with any sharp pointy things, so I figured it was fine,” she huffs.
Joel grimaces. “It ain’t about that. And you,” he rounds on Marlene. “I know exactly what you’re doin’. Just like with Tommy, puttin’ all sorts of ideas –”
Marlene scoffs. “Your brother was a grown-ass man who made his own choices. As I heard it, he wanted to get the fuck away from you.”
“Maybe so, but I ain’t gonna stand here and let you put more of your propaganda bullshit in her head. Did enough a’that already–“
“Oh, please –“
“Oh my fucking god, just fight or fuck already!”
Ellie’s words cut through the room like a knife, temporarily reducing them to stunned silence.
Joel balks. “The hell–”
“You’re acting like a couple of stupid fucking babies,” she scowls, looking back and forth between them. “Throw hands or kiss about it, but stop fucking arguing about fucking nothing ,”
“He’s not my type,” Marlene says, lips twitching in a smirk.
“Then I guess you’ll have to take it outside,” she snaps. “Let me know who wins, okay? Jesus.”
“Kid–”
“It’s fine,” Marlene says brusquely, standing and brushing her hands on her jeans. “Another time.”
Joel watches her go, hands on his hips, jaw working. When she’s out of sight, Ellie turns on him, nostrils flaring.
“Dude, we were just talking .”
“Yeah, well…you can talk to me,” he mutters, gathering his pile of filthy clothes from the bathroom floor. “You can’t trust her, Ellie. She’s not good people.”
“Coming from you,” she mutters.
He sets his jaw. “The difference is, I ain’t never pretended to be anythin’ I’m not. Think about that before you go gettin’ all buddy-buddy with the woman who tried to have us killed the minute we set foot here.”
“She didn’t–”
“She sure as hell did. They had eyes on us the whole time. They could just as easily have held us at gunpoint but they bombed us instead, and she’s the only one around here callin’ out orders, ’case you hadn’t noticed.”
“You don’t–”
“I do,” he snaps, shuffling over to his side of the room. He tries to hide it, but the hot shower and this conversation have taken most of his remaining energy. He sinks down onto the bed, facing her.
“I know that woman better’n you, and I know what she’s capable of,” he continues more softly. “She may look like your friend, but…you need to think real long and hard about who you trust, kiddo.”
“So just you, then?”
“While we’re here? Yeah, that’s about right.”
She grimaces, eyes shining as her next words come out in a whisper. “She knew my mom.”
He swallows hard, wondering what Ellie’s mother would think of her little girl being used as the Fireflies’ pin cushion. “Don’t make her a good person.”
Ellie huffs, face darkening. “I’m going to rest. You don’t have to…to watch me or whatever.”
With that, she gets up and snaps the curtain partition between their rooms closed, the rings grating sharply across the metal bar on which they’re strung, effectively ending the conversation. But her words still echo in his ears.
She knew my mom.
Ellie never talked about her mother before. He ignores a pang of jealousy–it’s fuckin’ irrational to be envious of a woman who died years ago. That woman had never seen her daughter’s smile, hadn’t kept her fed and sheltered and safe, hadn’t seen her face light up at the sight of a giraffe or a dumb joke or a new issue of her favorite comic book.
He’d known Ellie less time than her mother had carried her in her womb…but their time together had to count for something.
Selfish old man , he thinks, easing back onto the bed, turning onto his side so his good ear faces up. He stares at the wall, exhausted but unable to sleep, and wonders how the hell he’s supposed to protect the girl from herself.
Ellie
Marlene comes in while Joel is in the shower, and Ellie can’t help but think she timed it that way. She wants to ask why she and Joel are at each other’s throats, then she remembers–something about Tommy and the Fireflies. Ellie knows the feeling, hearing Riley talk about the Fireflies like they were some kind of saving grace, convinced she was going to change the world with a few pipe bombs and a gun, knowing it was all a bunch of bullshit.
The irony is almost painful. Riley would be laughing her ass off now.
Riley.
Her memory is an ache she has too much time to indulge in now that they’re settled. She looks down at her arm, remembers the mall, tucked against Riley’s side as she watched the tendrils under her skin creep up, up, up, so certain she was watching her own death in slow motion.
But then they stopped, and Riley’s hadn’t. Then there was the cold grip of the gun in her hand when Riley’s eyes were no longer hers, when the lips she’d kissed not an hour before twitched and her jaw dropped open in a groan that wasn’t fully human…
“Ellie?”
“Hmm?”
She’s drifted away again. She keeps doing that, her mind going fuzzy and lost in the past. Joel said something about PTSD once, but she was too ashamed to ask what that meant beyond her brain being all fucked up. It always makes Joel nervous, but now Marlene is the one sitting at the end of her bed, looking at her with concern.
“Ellie? I asked what happened in Colorado.”
“Oh. Nothing,” she says automatically.
“Are you sure? You kept talking about it when Joel was unconscious–”
“Nothing happened,” she snaps.
“Did he…hurt you?”
Ellie swallows hard against the lump in her throat. How could she know about David? Did Joel tell her? No, he wouldn’t. Can Marlene see it in her? The darkness, the bad thing, her violent heart. She has the crazy idea that she didn’t get all the blood off, there was so much blood, blood in every crevice, in her ears, in her hair, at the corners of her mouth. Joel’s rough hands cleaning her face with cold snow all those weeks ago, maybe he missed some and that’s how Marlene knows what she did, what she did, what she–
No, dummy. She’s asking about Joel.
Ellie rears back. “Joel would never hurt me.”
Marlene’s disbelief shines in her eyes and suddenly Ellie’s chest hurts with the desperate need to make her understand.
“He would never,” she repeats. “He never…he kept us safe. He protected me. He never– never –he’s not like that.”
“Okay,” she murmurs, the word drawn out. “Okay, Ellie, I hear you. Did someone else hurt you, then?”
She shakes her head tightly.
Marlene clearly doesn’t believe her. Ellie doesn’t care. She’s not having this conversation. She could barely have this conversation with Joel and he’d been there.
“Why did you tell me he left?”
She asks the question before she can stop herself, eager to change the subject.
“I said he took the payment,” Marlene says carefully. “Not that he left.”
Ellie rolls her eyes. “Same fucking thing.”
Marlene considers her, tilting her head. “I thought he had left,” she sighs finally. “But obviously he changed his mind.”
Ellie glances at the bathroom door, hears the shower running on the other side. She thinks of Maria and her warning.
The only people who can betray us are the ones we trust.
It’s all so fucking confusing.
She’s seen the guards. It’s not like Joel just walked out and then turned around and walked back in. He’d had a full escort when he’d found her, hand pressed to the window, relief in his eyes.
But Marlene was honest with her before, too. What reason would she have to lie now? She told her the truth about her bite, about her mother, she told her they could make a cure and even Joel said that was probably true…
It’s all mixed up in Ellie’s head, so tangled and twisted and frustrating she wishes she could disconnect and drift away again.
“You look so much like your mom,” Marlene murmurs, looking at her with a soft expression. “You have her eyes, you know.”
Ellie sniffs. How could she possibly know? She’s never even seen a picture of her mother. She wants to tell Marlene to fuck off, but there’s a sad little orphan inside her who craves every scrap, every morsel of information, ready to accept the broken glass pieces of her history and hold them up to the light to be inspected like treasure.
“I do?”
“You do. And her nose,” she smiles a little, speaking quietly, as if to herself. “And her attitude.”
“Was she a pain in the ass, too?” Ellie mutters.
Marlene laughs. “When she needed to be…yes. She spoke up. Sometimes people think that makes you a pain in the ass, but…sometimes it’s what gets the job done.”
That makes something in Ellie’s chest pull tight, a blush warming her cheeks. It’s a compliment, she thinks, one she’s not sure how to accept.
She’s like her mother.
But she’s been thinking about her father, too.
No reason.
“Did you know my–”
Before she can finish asking, the bathroom door is flung open and Joel is standing there, half-fucking-naked and pissed off about something, and he and Marlene are arguing, and fuck, she’s tired of listening to them already. They’re fighting like a couple of stupid kids in the rec yard and she just wants to lie down and put her hands over her ears and try to make sense of everything.
Then Marlene leaves and it’s just her and Joel and a stupid lecture about not trusting anyone but him, which is bullshit because they wouldn’t even be here if it weren’t for Marlene and the Fireflies.
She shuts the curtain on further conversation and doesn’t talk to him for the rest of the day.

𝐂𝐡𝐚𝐫𝐚𝐜𝐭𝐞𝐫: 𝐒𝐯𝐢𝐚𝐭𝐨𝐬𝐥𝐚𝐯
A creature of the abyss as it is rarely seen up above the twilight zone, even in the midnight zone, but once in the twilight zone? It is best to keep away from the creature as it will… collect vessels to equip itself with. Using the metal of the ship as armor and possibly a healing factor, maybe even as a meal. However, not much is known for this rather highly aggressive creature besides that it roams close or even in the Abyss as many submarines have been lost to the deep of its deathly territory. Escape from it has never been documented.
A massive creature with jet black scales covered in augmented metals of ships that it finds and slays. It has ripped pelvic, anal fins and a ripped flat tail. Its dorsal fins being replaced with some metals, and silver glowing eyes to help drag in more… meatier pray.
𝐍𝐞𝐮𝐭𝐫𝐚𝐥 𝐇𝐞𝐚𝐝𝐜𝐚𝐧𝐨𝐧𝐬:
Like to keep you in one spot, and that is his nest of the damn dark. The only thing acting as a source of light is his eyes and the glowing, blue crystals from up above. Guess you better get used to it.
Would offer you some fish. Having some mind that he should feed you often because you are not like him and this weird feeling tells him so, but becomes angry dejected when you refuse it at first and goes on a vessel collecting spree.
Likes to lightly squeeze you with his scales, loving and curious about the differences of his and your body. Loves how… squishy and squeaky you are.
Is occasionally sweet with you and take you with him so you can get some of this “Vitamin D” from the sun so you don’t die on him, and not be too unhappy with him. He really doesn’t like you yelling nor crying. It makes him feel bad.
Surprisingly, would like you to talk to him more, read to him. Even though he doesn’t understand what you are saying to him yet, but he watches you carefully and reads your body language to know what’s going on. Your scent provides information too.
𝐒𝐦𝐮𝐭 𝐇𝐞𝐚𝐝𝐜𝐚𝐧𝐨𝐧𝐬:
Oh, does this fish man love to dominate you. To make you squirm and wiggle on his cock’s. Yes, cock’s, you read that right. This monster has two and has no problem to put them to use on your crying, feeble body.
Try and dominate him? He’ll let you for a second, so your walls will stretch around him at your pace, but once you’re ready? Expect to be snatched into his chest, flipped and then railed with huffs and growls flooding your ear.
Someone try and get to you? Oh boy, I recommend trying to hide before he can even get a chance to snatch you for a session or else this man gets brutal. He claw, bite, fuck you numb and have you babble out your life to him. Your own blood staining your skin and his scales.
Luckily, the monster doesn’t leave you after such a bruising session. He’ll feel heavy remorse to try and make it up to you with heavy aftercare and staying by your very vulnerable side a lot longer with his tail wrapping around your body protectively.
Does have breeding urges, but doesn’t like to act upon them much. If he does, it’s really unlike him as he gets sweet and passionate with it. Cooing and gently licking and nipping at your skin that you have never felt him do before. It definitely has you rethinking this creature a lot.

Haha that ask and your reply about Willys lil smug, smooth nature just inspired a request😂
Will knows he’s hot, he can get girls as easily as breathing, he’s charming and smooth - but let’s ponder what happens when our little Swedish hunny starts dating someone who makes him nervous! You’re unlike anyone he’s dated because you’re equally as calm, charming and alluring as he is but also incredibly smart and stunning so he’s met his match! And it’s early days only a month of casual dates in, but he’s planned a day for you two to walk around The Distillery Winter Village (Toronto’s Christmas Market) to shop and during it he wants to express that he’d like to be exclusively together (uncharted waters as has never the one to bring up the convo) but for some reason he’s in his head about it, fumbling words and getting rosy cheeks! But as the day wears on and you’re just happy to hold his hand, chat, and laugh together he can’t help but express what he’s feeling because the nervousness excites him, and he knows he’s not letting you go!
My emotions! God yes, darling 🥰 This is just so dream-scenario-take-my-heart-Willy-and-leave-me-to-die - and I’m here for it! ❤️
I know there were several ways to go about this, and I could have written so much more, but I tried my best to keep it simple - I hope you enjoy it ❤️
[btw, when researching about The Distillery Winter Village, it almost had me book a plane ticket just to go there 😍]

Is This How It Feels To Be In Love? I William Nylander ✿❄︎
One touch, electric shock Eyes locked, like, did you feel that too? World stops, just us Here under dots in the darkness Of the blue, out of the blue Is this how it feels to be in love? This is magical, this is magical
“Magical” - Ed Sheeran
_
Accelerated heartbeat. Sweaty palms. Racing pulse.
Usual indications following a good workout or training session. Yet this time it wasn’t caused by that.
No. William Nylander was having these symptoms, accompanied by deep feelings that he'd never experienced before, and it was all because of you.
_
What initially had appeared to be a rather typical Thursday evening for William, coming home from a match, involved taking the subway to avoid bad traffic, and it was during this commute that he had met you for the first time.
You had stayed back late at the office, so feeling rather exhausted, you absentmindedly scrolled through your phone, when suddenly, the train abruptly stopped, causing you to lose your balance and tumble forward, landing face-first directly into the lap of the stranger seated in front of you.
"Shit," you’d exclaimed, attempting to regain your balance with your hands to avoid a complete collision with the person. However, your movements had lacked coordination, bringing your face closer to his. "I'm really sorry," you apologised with a sweet smile, and in that moment, William's gaze had immediately locked onto yours.
His deep Scandinavian blue eyes had delved into yours, creating an oddly intimate closeness between two complete strangers.
Oh, he's handsome, had been your first thought, well first thought following: 'fuck,' 'shit,' 'oops,' and 'nice move, y/n.'
But, handsome indeed. His slightly long blonde hair complemented by a well-maintained scruff accentuating his prominent cheekbone structure, along with those notably rosy, desirable lips.He wore a simple, yet finely tailored black suit with a white shirt and a black tie that suited him impeccably.
And despite the initial frustration of the situation, William had simply chuckled as you hastily regained your composure. "No worries, it wasn't your fault."
His voice held an adorable charm, accompanied by a cheeky smile that diffused the awkwardness, swiftly replacing it with a relaxed atmosphere.
"I guess I'm just naturally clumsy," you’d playfully remarked, as you’d noted his casual, unbothered reaction to the unfortunate incident. And his composed and laid-back demeanour immediately intrigued you, leading to shared laughter and friendly smiles during the following few subway stops.
And when it was time for you to exit, a couple of stations before his, you couldn't resist casting a quick glance back at the handsome stranger, offering him a sweet smile.
It had been from that moment on, William had been unable to shake you from his thoughts. Despite reflecting on the night's great win and chatting with his best friend Sandy and brother Alex, you somehow managed to continuously seep back into his mind. Your endearing smile remained etched in his memory, while the sound of your slightly embarrassed laughter lingered soothingly in his ears.
And as the night progressed, he couldn’t help but mentally scolding himself for not taking the opportunity to get your name and number.
Normally, William was adept at charming the ladies. Undoubtedly good-looking and well aware of it, he usually effortlessly engaged in conversation, flirted, and dazzled them.
Over the years, he'd been in a few relationships, some short, some a little longer. However, none seemed to last very long. Occasional hook-ups during the off-season were common, and during hockey season, he'd have a girl or two he could call upon if needed, but nothing too serious.
And this year was shaping up to be just like the others. His complete focus was on the hockey season, which seemed to be a defining one in his career. He ramped up his dedication, intensified his training, and minimised any potential distractions from the outside world.
However, as days passed following your encounter on the subway, he found himself unable to erase you from his thoughts. Which was very unfamiliar territory for him. Usually, he could discard any woman entering his life as easily as changing underwear. But for some reason, your reaction to him had been different.
He even caught himself searching for you each time he rode the subway, although he knew it was a lost cause in a city as populated as Toronto with countless trains running daily.
_
And just as William was gradually beginning to push thoughts of you aside, refocusing his mind on hockey, your lovely smile reappeared.
This time, it was in a downtown coffeehouse. He was out for an early stroll with his dogs on a chilly November morning and decided to warm up with a beverage. And when walking into the coffeehouse somewhat still sleepy, he instantly recognised your face. You were casually waiting for your coffee, and now William knew he had to make a move. At least try to flirt, like he’d normally do with any attractive girl like yourself.
So, he ordered his drink and casually walked towards the waiting area.
"Hey," he greeted, a mischievous grin adorning his face as he approached you.
"Well, hello there, stranger," you smiled, looking up from your phone. "How are you?"
"Good," he chuckled. "And yourself?"
"Good as well, thanks."
A moment of shared smiles passed, yet the silence grew uncomfortable for William, prompting him to break it.
"So, are you here to bump into more strangers?" he teased playfully, evoking chuckle from you.
"Oh no, I reserve that for the subway," you replied jokingly with a cheeky wink, which caused him laugh as well.
And amidst the laughter, the barista handed you your drink, and you gently took it and turned towards the exit.
"It was good to see you again," you said softly, offering a smile, as you were about to pass him and walk away.
"Likewise," William replied. However, as you began to leave, he quickly interjected. "Wait, I didn't catch your name?"
"It's y/n," you smiled.
"Well, it's nice to meet you, y/n."
There was another fleeting moment where you simply gazed up at his smiling face, shortly waiting for him to continue.
"...And this is the part where you tell me your name?" you asked with a playful grin, as he didn’t say anything.
"Wait, you don't know who I am?" William asked, slightly puzzled, considering he was a well-known figure in Toronto.
"No," you merely chuckled once more.
Though he did seem familiar to you, you couldn’t precisely place him. Probably a sports person, you guessed, based on his level of confidence. But the specific sport or anything else about him, you had no idea of. "Why? Are you, like, famous or something?"
"Or something," he grinned. "I'm William, William Nylander."
"Well, it's lovely to meet you, William Nylander," you emphasised both his first and last name, flashing another smile before casually heading out of the coffeehouse.
It took William a few moments to gather himself.
What was it about you?
And just as the barista handed him his drink, he hurriedly exited, aiming to catch up with you before you got too far.
"Hey," he called out, hoping to catch your attention once again. "How about giving me your number?"
"Why?" you flashed him another grin.
"So, if I wanted to ask you out and meet up, you'd be there?" he suggested.
"And what makes you so sure I'd say yes?" you playfully challenged his confidence.
"I don't know, call it an intuitive guess," he chuckled.
And you couldn’t deny that his effort intrigued you.
"Alright, then," you agreed, taking his phone and dialling your number, calling it, and retrieving your own phone from your pocket to answer the call before hanging up. This way, you both had each other's numbers. "I'll look forward to the invitation."
You flashed him a sweet smirk before turning on your heel once more and heading back to the office.
_
Only a couple of days passed before William asked you out for coffee. Though trying to appear cool and casual, attempting not to seem too eager, it was proving quite challenging. He couldn’t deny the fact that he longed to see you again, and more importantly to get to know more about you.
In many ways, you remained a mystery to him. You simply seemed to be so calm and sweet, as well as extremely stunning and charming.
You were funny and smart, sometimes a bit of a brat yet incredibly understanding and empathetic. Family held immense significance for you, something you both shared, and the way you always wanted to help others before yourself resonated deeply with him.
As it turned out, the more he got to know about you, the more he found you captivatingly interesting. The way you simply rested in yourself coupled with a gentle confidence intrigued him. You didn't seek drama or excessive attention from him, and everything between you felt relaxed and comfortable.
Surprisingly enough, it was William who felt more nervous as the two of you started dating.
He felt like a teenager, constantly checking his phone in anticipation of a message or Snapchat from you. Every time you met, whether for coffee, casual dinners at either of your places, or elsewhere, he eagerly looked forward to it.
And this was a strange and new feeling for him.
Usually, it was the girls who craved his attention, bombarding him with multiple messages if he didn't reply immediately. They'd fret over his hectic hockey schedule and quickly push to define the relationship, introducing him to friends and family prematurely, all of which often became overwhelming for him.
However, with you, it was nothing like his previous experiences. Quite the opposite.
When he’d first tried to ask you out after your first coffee meet up, his hectic schedule had naturally come in the was. Yet, you were understanding. You simply suggested to reschedule, and found a day that worked for both of you, even if it meant waiting a little bit longer.
And then when there had been more adjustments due to his schedule changes or delays, you’d simply adapt to it.
Instead casual dinners with takeout on the sofa became a norm, as well as late-night chats when he was away. And you were fine with it all.
You merely recognised the strong connection between you two and appreciated the easy-going nature of your relationship.
But as time passed, things gradually snowballed, and William found himself wanting to spend more time with you, as his heart raced every time, he saw you.
Your presence had a way of quickening his pulse and making him nervous, and these new and unfamiliar feelings left him immensely intrigued. The gentle tingling when thinking about you or the sudden anxiety of you not thinking about him were sensations far from his world. Yet, he felt somewhat drawn to it.
He took you out on dates as best as he could, eventually making his move and kissing you on your forth date. And on the fifth and sixth dates you took it a a few steps further, and soon enough, he felt compelled to share everything about you with his close group of friends; the team.
Naturally, the boys had noticed William's sudden change in behaviour, teasing him a bit about it as well. However, understanding their own unspoken boundaries, they let him be and didn't delve too deeply into sentimental details, as boys will be boys.
_
So, as December enrolled and the two of you had been casually dating for a little over a month, William organised a day at The Distillery Winter Village for you to shop, indulge in delicious Christmas treats, and soak up the holiday spirit.
Knowing your love for this season, he took the opportunity to create a proper Christmas experience for you, as he had some time to spare.
And your immediate 'yes' was a testament to how just much you enjoyed spending time with William. He simply had a way of making you feel incredibly good about yourself, and being around him was just pure joy. He filled a void that felt like the best friend you had been missing for so long. Yet, beneath it all, you sensed there might be deeper feelings between you. But you weren't in a rush. You cherished being around him, revelled in his wonderful company, and simply appreciated the incredible connection you shared.
And the day turned out to be simply magical. The bustling atmosphere, extraordinary with Christmas carols filling the air, mingling with the delightful scents of sweets and the joyous laughter all around.
However, amidst this enchantment, William's mind was slightly preoccupied.
The gentle intertwining of your fingers, holding hands as you casually strolled through the market, had him contemplating.
He thought about how this was exactly what he wanted to experience every Christmas with you. He wanted to have these profound, warm feelings he experienced every time he was with you, every day of his life. He wanted to wake up to your gorgeous face daily, have you by his side through the highs and lows, introduce you to his family, and contemplate a future together.
So, as he witnessed the Christmas lights reflecting in your eyes while leisurely strolling from boutique to boutique, William's mind raced, and he felt the need to articulate his thoughts. Firstly, attempting to broach the subject casually, he started the conversation with, "There's quite a lot of couples here, huh..."
Hoping to drop hints, without saying too much.
"Sure, but there are also quite a few families,” you responded with a simple smile. “I mean, all the children want to meet Santa, right?"
William felt flustered. Desperate to express his feelings and recent thoughts to you, he found it far more challenging than anticipated. This territory was beyond his expertise, as he had never been the one to initiate the 'where are we' conversation.
But, as he thought of you more and more, he concluded that he didn't want to see you with anyone else but him. The mere thought of you dating someone else at this point tore him apart.
So, as the evening progressed and you indulged in various foods and drinks, he gathered the courage to try again.
"You know, a lot of people find Christmas really romantic," he blurted out seemingly out of nowhere, feeling his cheeks flush slightly, which could easily pass off as a reaction to the cold weather.
"Well, I suppose it is,” you spoke, as you gently sipped your hot chocolate. “You don’t think it’s romantic?”
“Or course I do,” he smiled, finally summoning the courage to express his thoughts. “In fact I think it's a good time to... maybe, be with someone... you really like," his voice slightly trembling.
"For sure, that's what this season is all about, being with the ones you love,” you replied, as you slowly made your way through the crowd. “Although, it can also be a little cheesy, right? Like those people who propose on Christmas Day or something like that. I mean, let's just enjoy the holiday for what it is," you chuckled lightly, unknowingly causing William's heart to sink in his chest.
He might not have had a proposal in mind, but considering he'd never asked someone to be his girlfriend before, it felt almost like it.
"I guess," was all he managed to say. And then another 30 minutes passed with more conversation, during which William's heart continued to race faster than usual, and his palms grew sweatier. He nearly pulled his hand away when you tried to hold it as you resumed walking side by side.
"Willy, are you alright?" you asked, genuinely concerned, noticing his distant gaze and absent-mindedness.
"Um, sure."
A moment of silence passed as you both headed towards the giant Christmas tree, illuminated with the bright DIOR sign flashing its lights.
"It's beautiful, isn't it?" you spoke softly as you stood admiring the tree.
"Yes... yes, it is," William almost whispered, though his gaze was fixed on you rather than the tree.
"You know, there's a funny story from my hometown—"
"Y/n, I want you to be my girlfriend."
His mouth had spoken faster than his mind could process, and suddenly the words had slipped out, unintentionally interrupting your story.
"What?" you asked, slightly baffled.
"I want..." Uncertainty overwhelmed him once again, but he knew he had burst the bubble and now had to articulate what was truly on his mind. "I want to be... you know... together, like, just you and me..."
His heart pounded fiercely, almost outside his chest, as he struggled to convey his thoughts. He had never been this nervous, not even on drafting day or during his first NHL game. Asking you to be his girlfriend felt like the most anxious thing he had ever done.
"Willy, you want us to be exclusive?" you asked timidly, though you had heard him perfectly clearly. Your mind just needed to process what he had asked.
"Yes, y/n," he breathed out, feeling a sense of relief. "I want us to be exclusive. I don't like the idea of you seeing anyone else, and I know I only have the right to ask that of you if you're..."
"Your girlfriend," you finished his sentence with a sweet smile. "Willy, I'd want nothing more than to be your girlfriend."
Your voice resonated with profound sincerity, reflecting what he had been trying so hard to articulate. Of course, you wanted to be with him. You just simply hadn't felt the need to push the matter but hearing him express it so earnestly left you with no doubt.
And amidst the Christmas lights and the festive cheer, William felt an immense relief coursing through his body as you said yes to being his.
It felt like a magical experience amid the joy of the season, and he had never been more certain of anything else. So with gentle tenderness, he pulled you in for a soft kiss under the shimmering lights and stars of that December night.

sports i think the sully's (+) would play!
supa dupa unedited!
jake sully: definitely a football man, he forces the entire family to watch the super bowl with him and screams SO loud when his team loses. i can imagine he wanted a son so they could play together, do the cliche 'teaching my son how to throw a football' thing. jake also host family football in his backyard when his friend's come over, he has tonowari as the other team captain and forces the kids to play, making them line up so the dads can make their team.
"lo'ak- no! you have to play"
neytiri: i don't know why but she definitely plays tennis, like in my head it just makes sense. y'know when in tennis matches all you can hear are the competitors grunting while they hit the ball super hard, that's her. neytiri is basically serena williams. she has a custom made racket and her outfits change for every game she plays, her visor is blue most of the time because tuk insist the sun will reflect off the color and she will be able to see the entire time (she heard the sky is blue because it reflects off of the ocean and she just ran with it).
"tuk, you're right! the blue kept the sun out of my eyes"
neteyam: jake most definitely tried to convince neteyam to play football, "it's fun i promise" "follow in my footsteps" let's just say the countless hours of them throwing a football outside bored neteyam to death. so instead, i feel like he would play hockey. it's kinda the same concept...right? like they are both very big contact sports, ramming each other into the walls of the skating rink to get to the puck, tripping your opponents with a hockey stick making them fall into the hard ice. i assume neteyam would use it as an out to release pent up anger and aggression he holds as the oldest son, it's definitely not healthy, but it's better than nothing AND he's good at what he does so it's a win win situation.
"what, in the penalty box again? i didn't push him, i tripped. not my fault he fell so hard."
lo'ak: LO'AK! i already know he plays basketball, he wears the nike techs and everything. very big lakers fan, like i want to say his whole room is a bright purple and yellow and every night before he goes to bed he blows a kiss to kobe. he's obnoxious and knows he's better than most people, so he'll just take the ball every chance he gets and shoots. it's always great but if he does it in a close game and he misses, he will prob be benched for the rest of the quarter. he begs neytiri and jake to get neon bright basketball shoes that are super expensive because 'the brigther the shoe the better the athlete' and after years of begging, he finally gets the bright orange (ugly) shoes he's been wanting. if he sees tsireya in the crowd he points at her and says "this one's for you", completely airballs and gets yelled at by his coach..
"i'm not cocky, i just know i'm good"
kiri: uhm. kiri doesn't play a sport, she's very much the musician of the family. but if i really had to chose i think she would be good at,, ice skating?! or dance in general, again i have no idea. but let's say ice skating, she carpools with neteyam because they go to the same ice rink and the entire time it's just gossip. she's very stubborn and has to perfect the trick she does before moving onto the next one. i'm guessing that she experiences a big mental block, like she can't do spins or jumps anymore because she's afraid to fall on the ice and hurt herself; that's why she quit. she does miss the beauty of the sport but finds herself in tune with music.
"you know what elsa said, the cold never bothered me anyway"
tuk: SHE IS A GYMNAST! she's one of those annoying little girls who do cartwheels everywhere to show off. her leotards are all glittery and multicolored, she has to look her best for the judges. neytiri and jake absolutely eat it up, they make the entire family watch her beam routine once she successfully does it without falling off. when jake takes her to skyzone to practice her flips, he ends up getting stuck in the foam pit and has to have workers help pull him out. then he lost tuk. but aside from that, tuk is very hardworking and committed, she wants to be an olympian and if she's good at 8, imagine how good she will be when she's older. neytiri loves the time that they spend picking her outfits out or when she has to squeeze her little girl's hair into a bun. the memories they make in those 5 minutes keep tuk motivated, she no longer cries when she falls, she laughs that she did and gets up to do it again.
"MOM! TOO TIGHT MY HAIR IS GONNA RIP OUT MY HEAD!"
tonowari: hmm. i think waterpolo! saying this because he's metkayina but also one beefy man. he moves well in the water and is the fastest on his team, sososo very humble though. if someone scratches him or pulls him under water, he will try to drown the guy. ( sorry it's this short i know nothing about waterpolo)
"i didn't even do that, pshh you can't see anything it was underwater"
ronal: swimming?? i think maybe swim team or synchronized swimming. yes yes synchro swimming! she likes dancing of course but dancing underwater it just so much more peaceful to her. she is super close to her team and gets to pick out the music for each choreograph much to everyone's dismay.
"this is not old people music! it's good for the soul"
ao'nung: baseball player. 2 million percent a baseball player. he's a pitcher and always teases the person batting before throwing a curveball. if he gets caught he gets scolded but never benches because he's too good and they need him (gag). very very cocky boy, will never admit he's done something wrong and that causes the whole team to run. i can also see him annoyingly eating sunflower seeds and spitting the shell out between every word, no manners smh.
"huh- pft- no- pft- i- pft- didn't- pft- say- pft-" "AO'NUNG!"
tsireya: sweet baby is a cheerleader. she's a flyer and puts her entire trust in her spotters, they will never ever drop her. she loves to do very bold cheer makeup and color coordinates her outfits, her smile soso big as she waves to the bleachers with a pompom in hand. there are mean cheerleaders and she's always one of the girls to scold them "we are a team, weather you like it or not." she's at the top of the pyramid in everyone's hearts.
"yes i can do makeup on you tuk, is it scary being thrown? of course not, they will always catch me"

Dancing the Tandava (4/10)
[on Ao3] @today-in-fic
Geneva, Switzerland 2023
Hannah forgets William’s parents were coming to visit until she hears knocking on the door. She’s been up all night in a panic and is so tightly wound that the sound of the knock makes her whole body flinch.
Last night, she and William had been watching a movie on his laptop, both lying face down in his bed, propped up on their elbows. He has a nearly encyclopedic knowledge of old sci-fi and horror B-movies, and, after learning she’d never seen Plan 9 From Outer Space or Attack of the 50-Foot Woman, he’s made it his personal mission to expand her horizons. As aspiring physicists, they’ve made a game out of poking holes in the films' plots, but she can tell he genuinely enjoyed them.
They were midway through The Thing when William got a call. Dr. Bellona needed his assistance immediately for a special project at the large hadron collider. She heard William agree to come into the lab even though it didn’t make any sense. They were both research interns for Dr. Farber, whose office was next door to Bellona’s. Besides, interns aren’t certified or trained to work directly on the collider, and they’re never urgently needed at 9 p.m.
“Bellona?” she asked. “Didn’t you say you saw him doing something weird near the Shiva statue on your way home today?”
“Yeah,” William replied, getting out of bed. “I guess now I can ask him what he was up to.”
Hannah had a bad feeling. She bit her lower lip and tried to resist the impulse to pull him back onto the bed as he rose up.
She watched as he pulled a thick navy sweater over his gray t-shirt. A thin line of his toned abdomen peeked out as he lifted up his arms and she forced herself to look away. William is her best friend, the first person she’d ever met who could keep up with her in debates about loop quantum gravity. He’s also undeniably hot: Tall and lean, with piercing blue eyes, and a strong jawline. She teases him for being a jock because he played varsity basketball and baseball in high school, but she secretly appreciates his body as much as his mind.
They’re only friends, though—and roommates and co-workers but nothing more. They don’t talk about their dating lives, although based on how much time he spends either with her or at the lab she can’t imagine his is any more exciting than her own non-existent one. Sure, she feels an electric jolt whenever his hand grazes hers, but William Mulder could probably get any girl he wants. Well, maybe if he toned down his own nerdiness a little.
“I’ll be back soon,” he said, leaving her alone on his bed. Hannah groaned in protest but she could already hear the apartment door shutting behind him.
She waited up for him to return. An hour, then two, then three. She texted and called him but he didn’t respond. Finally at 1 a.m. she pulled a puffy coat over her pajamas, slipped on a pair of boots, and marched down to the ATLAS facility at CERN where she and William worked. She tapped her key card to the sensor at the door but it lit up red and didn’t open. When it failed two more times, she knocked at the door, getting the attention of a security guard she hadn’t seen before.
“Can I help you?” he asked, poking his head out the door into the cold night air.
“Um, I left something at my desk. I just wanted to come pick it up.”
“You’ll have to come back in the morning,” the security guard said sternly. “There’s been an incident and the entire facility is on lockdown.”
“An incident?” she asked, scrunching her brow in concern. It seemed too quiet for there to have been an accident at the facility. There were no sirens or crowds assembled. “What kind of incident?”
“Not sure,” he said. “But someone’s gone missing in the collider tunnel.”
“Missing?” she asked. It wasn’t possible. The large hadron collider was housed in an underground tunnel made of reinforced concrete. It was huge, nearly 17 miles in circumference, but entirely enclosed. There was nowhere for someone to go missing.
The guard just shrugged and started pulling the door closed.
“Wait—” she said, yanking the glass door back open. “Who is it?”
“An intern, they think,” he said. Then he shut the door.
Hannah’s bad feeling got a lot worse.
Back at the apartment, she spent the rest of the night texting other interns in their cohort to see if anyone knew what had happened, but everyone was either asleep or equally clueless.
When she heard the knock at the door she perked up, thinking it was William and he’d forgotten his keys. She didn’t expect to see his parents there instead. She met them once before, when she stayed at their home for a weekend over the summer. William’s mother, from whom he inherited his eyes and coloring, was a doctor and scientist, the kind of accomplished and serious woman she hoped to one day become herself. His father, who looked nearly exactly like an older version of William, was funny and, as William warned, did tell some strange stories but she found them fascinating. Hannah sat aghast as Mr. Mulder recalled a liver-eating monster, a telekinetic killer, and satanic PTA members. William and his mom only rolled their eyes, clearly having heard (or, in Dr. Scully’s case, lived through) these tales before.
Now, she watches as William’s mother’s face drops when she tells her he’s gone.
“Where is he?” his father shouts, cutting through her shock.
Hannah tries to answer, but she only starts crying harder. Dr. Scully drapes an arm around her and leads her to the living room sofa. The coffee table is cluttered with her and William’s books and notebooks and the remains of their takeout dinner from the night before. They would have cleaned up after the movie but then William was called away.
Hannah buries her head in her hands, trying to slow her hyperventilation, as Wlliam’s mom sits down next to her, rubbing her back. She’s ashamed to be such an emotional mess in front of them, but she can’t help it.
“Mulder, why don’t you get Hannah a glass of water?” Dr. Scully asks softly. William’s parents call each other by their last names, a holdover from their days as FBI partners. He said it was embarrassing, but she thinks it’s sweet.
Mulder returns with the water and Hannah sips it slowly.
“Hannah, can you tell us what happened?” Dr. Scully asks gently, still with a calming hand on her back.
Hannah takes a deep breath, trying to steady herself.
“I’m sorry, Dr. Scully,” she says.
“Dana,” William’s mom interrupts. “You can call me Dana.”
“Okay,” Hannah continues. “He was called in last night to assist on a project with the large hadron collider, but he never came back. I went down to our worksite and they told me he’d gone missing inside the LHC tunnel. But that’s impossible. The tunnel is fully enclosed.”
She pauses to wipe the tears off her face with her sweatshirt sleeve. “I think this physicist Dr. Bellona has something to do with it. William saw him yesterday leading some sort of ritual outside the Shiva statue and then he was the one who called William last night.”
“What Shiva statue?” Mulder asks, his eyes darting from Hannah to his wife.
“Um, there’s a statue of the Hindu god Shiva right behind our building. Apparently, Dr. Bellona was chanting and scattering something there with these other people and he kind of stared down William when he saw him.”
“We have to go see that statue,” Mulder says, already headed to the door. His frenetic energy reminds her of William when he’s excited about a new idea.
“Is that okay, Hannah?” William’s mom asks. “Can you come show it to us?”
She guides them outside to a courtyard in between her apartment and the neighboring office building. There, on a granite podium, stands a giant brass model of a majestic Shiva dancing in a fiery halo. He has one foot on the back of a smaller being, and the other raised in the air in celebration.
“This is it,” she says. “It was a gift from the Indian government. What do you think Bellona was doing here?”
Mulder steps forward to examine the statue.
“I don’t know,” he says, rubbing his fingers along the engraved plaque on its base. “But I saw this same symbol earlier this morning in the taxi that took us here from the airport. The driver had a medallion hanging from his mirror that looked exactly like this.”
“It’s probably a coincidence,” Dana says. “But I have to admit, it’s odd. Why is there a religious statue at a scientific center?”
“There are parallels between the story of Shiva dancing the universe into existence and the movement of subatomic particles,” Hannah answers. As a self-proclaimed atheist, she’d asked herself the same question upon coming to CERN, confident that all answers could be found in science. But the more she learns about particle physics, the more mysterious the world seems. “Carl Sagan called Shiva’s cosmic dance the most elegant and sublime representation of the creation of the universe.”
“She quotes Sagan,” Mulder says, smiling. “No wonder William likes you so much.”
Hannah blushes. Glancing down, she spots a green, trifoliate leaf on the pebbled ground. It’s bright with two smaller leaflets and a longer, wider one in the middle, and stands out against the gray of the stones on the walkway. As she looks around on the ground, she sees a few more dispersed around the statue.
“Look at this,” she says, bending down to pick it up. “Maybe Bellona was scattering leaves.”
“Let me see,” Dana says, reaching over to take the leaf from Hannah. “It looks like it’s from a citrus plant, possibly tropical. I don’t think it’s from anything that grows around here.”
“Hannah!” a French-accented voice calls out and all three of them turn around.
It’s Emmanuelle Toussaint, a young French engineer who works in the LHC control center. Hannah had met her at a cocktail reception for women at CERN and the two had become friendly. If there really was an incident with the LHC, Emanuelle would know about it.
“Did you hear what happened?” Emmanuelle asks, striding over to the statue near Hannah and William’s parents.
“To William?” Hannah blurts out desperately.
Emmanuelle looks confused. “No,” she says. “The LHC operated at 15 TeV last night.”
“That’s physically impossible,” Hannah says under her breath.
You don’t need to tell me that,” Emanuelle responds excitedly. “I saw it with my own eyes from the control center, though. We’ve calibrated and recalibrated every detector and we’re still getting the same reading.”
“Scully, I might need some translating here,” Mulder leans over to Dana to whisper.
“I don’t think I understand what’s going on either,” she says.
“The collider has a maximum total collision energy of 14 TeV, or teraelectronvolts per beam. It’s only ever operated at 13 TeV, though, and achieving 15 TeV would require physical upgrades that are years away,” Hannah explains.
“Sorry,” she continues. “Emmanuelle, these are William’s parents, and,” she pauses. “William went missing last night.”
“Oh my goodness,” Emmanuelle gasps, bringing a thin hand to her mouth. “That was him with Dr. Bellona.”
“What happened?” Dana asks.
“Dr. Bellona was the one running the experiment last night. There’s footage of him inside the tunnel working on a calibration with someone else. I didn’t realize it was William with him. Then, there was a power surge and we lost connection to the cameras. When they came back online, Bellona was still there but William wasn’t.”
“Where could he have gone?” Hannah asks.
“I don’t know,” Emmanuelle continues. “But Dr. Bellona called the control room and wanted us to begin the collider run. We obviously can’t do that if anyone is still in the tunnel and, since we didn’t see William exit, we couldn’t start the collider. We locked down the facility and had the technicians do a full sweep of the tunnel. No one was there. Bellona insisted William had exited with him and had gone home, and since there was no sign of him in the tunnel, we figured he was telling the truth. That’s when we started the experiment and the LHC hit 15 TeV.”
“But William didn’t come home,” Hannah says quietly.
“What would happen if the collider ran while he was inside the tunnel?” Mulder asks.
Hannah glances at Emmanuelle. They both know it would be instantly fatal for anyone to be exposed to the high voltage and intense magnetic fields generated by a run of the particle accelerator. Hannah’s heart thumps hard in her chest.
“It is impossible,” Emmanuelle says, shaking her head. “We would never run an experiment with anyone inside. There are too many safety protocols in place. And no one was inside at the time. I don’t know where William went, but I can promise you he was not in the tunnel.”
“I think we need to talk to this Dr. Bellona,” says Dana.

They go home to find very angry and upset Brothers +Maria
(if you like It i also have an idea for a Little part 2 AND ALSO SORRY FOR BAD ENGLISH🤍)
THIS WAS SO GOOD??? HELLO??? OFC! the first part will be the dinner with a bit of an argument, and the second part will be the mall. we'll see how long we can drag this on for. thank you for this anon!
this is a fem!oc x Ellie williams fic. she's a poc. sorry if this diverges from what you wanted, I just wanted to write something in first pov instead of YN. (is that okay??)
warnings: conversation about death. drinking. some kissing. that's about it.
PART II
I fucking hate the apocalypse. Then again, who enjoys it? Besides psychos testing out their survival skills.
The apocalypse means losing people: people you’ve known since birth, people you’ve known since your mind could render memories, and people who you never got to know due to your young mind. Like my mom. Young and full of hope, which is something everyone says when they talk about the dead mom they don’t remember. But from what I hear, that’s what she was like.
Her name was Poppy, which means that I might’ve had weird grandparents. And because my name is Clementine, that means I might’ve had a weird mom. From the pictures tacked onto my wall, it seems so: she had blue hair as a teenager, she dyed it every so often from shades of pink to purple and orange. She had piercings all over her ears and a couple on her face, and she had tattoos that littered her soft tan skin.
I have… nothing. I’m bare. All that I have is curly hair and tan skin from my mom, and an odd shade of hazel eyes from my dad. I don’t match myself whatsoever. But I guess that’s why I’m like my mom–I don’t make sense.
But the one person who has made an effort to make me make sense is Ellie–Joel’s ‘daughter,’ who isn’t truly his daughter because they are not related whatsoever. She’s just been around him since she was 14. I make an effort to make that known, because people around town consider me Tommy and Maria’s daughter, which then implies that I’m Joel’s niece. Which I am not. Because if I was, that would make the entire situation of me liking Ellie sort of… incest-y.
But me and Tommy and Maria are not blood related, and me and Ellie and Joel and whatever this family is, are not related either. I’ve just been taken in by Tommy and Maria since I was three years old. They care for me like their own. And for that, I’m grateful.
Tommy enjoys inviting Joel and Ellie to dinner at least once a week; because we’re a group of put together people that have been through more shit than we probably should’ve. And every week, they come over. Sometimes with food, sometimes with alcohol. Maria allows me to drink because she says I’m mentally old enough. That and from what Tommy says, laws don’t really exist anymore, so they can’t really go to jail for letting me drink underage.
This week, Maria has made lasagna and her famous salad, which is just a mixture of pickled vegetables tossed in oil and goat cheese with lettuce. It really is good, but I won’t lie and say I haven’t gotten a bit tired of it. I eat it anyway, because Maria is a marvelous cook and I’d rather stab my eye than ask her to make something different.
I set up the table and lay out five wine glasses. I usually sit next to Ellie while the old adults sit next to each other around the end of the table. I somehow still get nervous sitting next to her even after four years of knowing one another. It starts off with a rumbling in my stomach, and then a batch of butterflies find their way into my chest and absorb all of the liquids spewing into my body. I can’t really stop it, but at least they don’t attack my vocal chords.
“You done?” Tommy asks as he walks into the room with two bottles of wine. This week, Ellie is making her famous garlic rolls, which pair amazingly with Maria’s lasagna. Because she never makes them, I eat one too many and end up tipsy and bloated.
I nod and grab the bottles from his hands. I set them in the center alongside the other bottle of wine and one singular bottle of whiskey. This family drinks too much, but no one seems to care. It’s a Friday, after all.
“How does it look?” I ask, waving a hand over the table.
Tommy smiles, which force his wrinkles to dance about his face. “It looks wonderful like always, sweetheart.” He comes around and wraps an arm around my shoulders. I pat his hand and lean my head against his.
I love Tommy–he’s truly my father even though I’ll never call him dad. I guess he knows that, but he’s fine with it. I call him ‘My Tommy’ to everyone I know, which is somehow more special than the title ‘dad.’
“Awe, look at you guys,” Maria says as she enters the dining room. She places her lasagna and salad in the center of the table and can’t stop her smile from spreading along her entire face at the sight of us. “My Tommy and my Clem. You are adorable.”
I kiss Tommy’s cheek and pull away, smiling back at Maria who has now run around the table to kiss Tommy. I don’t watch as she kisses him, but I hear the peck.
I take one last look at the table, trying to see if there’s anything I need to perfect. But as nothing comes to mind, there’s a knock at the door. I turn to look at Tommy and Maria, but quickly leap towards the door when I find them kissing.
I already know who it is, so I don’t check the peephole. I unlock the door and twist the handle, opening it up to see Joel and Ellie on the other side. Joel holds a bottle of whiskey and Ellie holds a dish of rolls.
I smile and take the whiskey from Joel. “I don’t think we need anymore of this, but thank you.”
They step inside and I shut the door behind them. “There’s no such thing as too much whiskey.”
“Or wine,” Ellie states, which draws me over to her.
I look at her and smile. “Well wine, no. Whiskey, maybe.”
Her hair that’s tossed into a low bun shakes along with her head. Some tendrils of hair fly into her face and I fight against my fluttering stomach not to push them out of my face. To fight it, I look away and take the whiskey to the dining table.
Tommy watches me place the whiskey next to the plenty of other bottles and chuckles. “Thank you brother but that might be too much.”
“That’s what I said,” I tell him. “Do you want me to take it to the kitchen instead?”
Tommy shakes his head. “Leave it. It’s a Friday and I’m sure we’ve all had a rough week.”
I nod even though I don’t do much around Jackson. I’m not really allowed to go out on patrol like Ellie. My mom died that way. Maybe not riding around safely like Ellie, but she died out on patrol. And ever since I was old enough to take on tasks, I was labored with tending to the farm animals.
I have never gone outside of the walls of Jackson. I’ve begged Tommy and Maria, but they always say no. We’ve even gotten into fights about it, which have led me to nights in Ellie’s room, where she tells me stories of what she’s seen out there. And some of those stories have included a mall.
Because of her stories, I have dreamed about sneaking away and finding that said mall. Even though I know it won’t happen, I dream about it–because how harmful can a dream be?
“Alright, has everyone washed their hands?” Maria asks.
Tommy and Joel nod but Ellie and I look over at one another, shaking heads. I head into the kitchen with her behind me and the butterflies come out in full effect, knocking into the walls of my stomach.
I eject soap into my hands and turn on the sink, quickly shoving my hands underneath the slow stream to get some bubbles forming. As I knead the soap into my hands, Ellie clears her throat. I look over at her with a smile and she begins a conversation.
“How are you doing?” she asks.
I nod. “Good. So far, I’m doing good.”
“Has that guy Jacob been bothering you?” she asks, referring to this one guy around our age that can’t seem to stop pestering every girl in Jackson. He used to catcall me everyday during the summer. I wore shorts and thin shirts so I wouldn’t overheat, and he’d come over whistling at me, hoping I’d feed into his delusions.
I never told him I wasn’t into his type, so he kept coming onto me. Until a couple weeks ago when I punched him so hard that he fell back and got a concussion. I guess that gave him the memo.
I wash the suds out of my hands as I shake my head. “He hasn’t talked to me since you know what.”
She laughs and takes my spot by the sink. “That was badass, by the way,” she tells me as the soap suds up in her hands.
My cheeks become hot and I laugh. “Thanks,” I say, “you’ve told me that quite a couple times.”
Her cheeks heat up and swell with blood, but I try not to think of it. Instead, I focus on her hands and the way the soap begins vanishing from her fingers. The new tattoos that tread down her hands come into full effect and I have to turn away.
“I say it ‘cause it’s true,” she tells me as she dries her hands on her jeans.
I shrug. “It’s no biggie.”
“What’s no biggie?” Joel asks as he steps into the kitchen.
“Me punching Jacob,” I tell him.
He laughs and grabs a couple more napkins from the counter. “That was bad ass, by way.”
Ellie and I turn to one another and laugh. Joel, as confused as he is, turns away and re-enters the dining room, where we follow him into and sit down for dinner.
We’re three bottles of wine into dinner and I’ve had about two very full glasses. Even though I’ve been allowed to drink around Tommy and Maria since I turned 17, I haven’t gained a high enough tolerance. So now I drunkenly sit in my seat with one of Ellie’s garlic rolls in my hand.
Tommy and Joel are laughing at something Maria said, and Ellie is staring me down.
“You don’t think you’ve had enough to drink?” she asks as she glances at my wine glass.
I shrug. “You want some?”
She shrugs.
“Have it,” I tell her.
She chugs the rest and places the glass next to her, as if to say, ‘Now you can’t get any more.’ I’m fine with that, so I chow down on the garlic roll and listen to the adults.
This runs for about ten minutes before the conversation is redirected towards the teenagers. “So,” Maria says, “how are you girls?”
I glance at Ellie and I catch her looking back at me. Her red cheeks make a re-appearance and I mistake it for the wine and whiskey. Ellie looks back at Maria and smiles. “We’re good. Well–I’m good. I’ve been doing fine on patrols and all that.” She turns to me again and with her red cheeks and perfectly molded lips, asks, “And you, Clem?”
I shake out of my drunken thoughts and crookedly smile. “It’s been fine on the farm.”
Joel glances between me and Ellie and chuckles. “You hate it at the farm, don’t you?”
I shrug. I pick at the leftover pieces of dead lettuce on my plate and try to find words that don’t come off as bitchy. But I fail. The words tumble out of my mouth before I can slap a hand over my lips. “Nothing new ever happens and I can’t do anything else, so yeah, I kinda do hate it.”
Maria sighs and I look up at her. “You know you can’t go on patrol, Clem.”
“Well I can’t do anything else here either.”
“Clementine, don’t start your arguing,” Tommy warns.
I scoff. “I’m not arguing, I’m just trying to understand why you won’t let me go on patrol.”
“Because–” Maria starts.
“Because what? Ellie goes on patrol!”
“That’s different,” Joel mutters.
I avert my gaze towards him and ask, “How? How is it different?”
“Your mom died while out on patrol,” he continues.
“From what I know, combat skills aren’t hereditary. Y’all can teach me! Ellie can teach me.”
Ellie stays silent. I suddenly feel bad for jamming her into our conversation. She sits next to me and places her hand on my hand, forcing my trembling fingers to die down. She leans in and tries to whisper something in my ear, but I shove her away and continue with the conversation between me and the adults.
“Stop trying to fight this, Clementine,” Tommy tells me.
“But you can teach me! How do you know I’ll die if you don’t teach me how to defend myself?”
“Your mother knew how to defend herself,” Maria says, but before she can continue, I cut her off.
“Okay then! So teach me how to defend myself.”
“But she was stupid and got herself killed. And I’d rather keep you locked in Jackson than have you do the same.”
“So I’m stupid?” I ask. The color drains out of my face and leaves me as pale as a ghost. I’ve always been mistaken for Tommy and Maria’s daughter due to my skin color, but now that my color has drained from my body, I feel like everything that used to connect me to this couple is gone. “You think that because my mom died stupidly, I’ll do the same?”
Maria shuts her eyes and pulls herself away from the table. She stands up and gathers her and Tommy’s plates. “We’re not talking about this. Talk to your Tommy and leave me out of it.”
Tommy glances at me and I look away, pulling myself away from the table and fleeing. I trip over the chair and try kicking it away, but Ellie latches her hand onto my arm and pulls me around the tipping chair.
She helps me up the stairs as my vision becomes blurred and once we enter my bedroom, I flop onto my bed. She shuts my door and I instantly sob.
“Hey, you’re okay,” Ellie whispers as she plops down next to me and rubs her hands along my spine. “You’re okay, Clem.”
I shake my head. “Fuck them!” I exclaim. “They’ve kept me locked up in Jackson my entire life and expect me not to want to go out? I’m a fucking human, not a pet!”
“They just want to keep you safe, Clem.”
I drunkenly disobey, pushing her off and scooting up to the back of my bed. She crawls towards me and sits in front of my legs. She places her hands on top of my knees and slowly rubs her thumbs along the grooves.
“Leave me alone,” I whisper.
“Nothing they said was true,” she tells me.
I look up at her with a frown. “How do you know that?”
“You’re the smartest girl I know, Clem.”
I roll my eyes.
Ellie slaps my knee and cowers over me. “I mean it. You’re incredibly intelligent with animals. You practically speak to them!”
“I’m telling you, I’m weird.”
She shakes her head and places her hands on both of my knees. She spreads them apart and crawls between them. I gulp down the nervousness cinching my throat and try to push myself back against my bed. But I’m already against the wall.
I’ve wanted this ever since I met Ellie. Sure, it was inappropriate for a fourteen-year-old to be thinking about this very moment where Ellie kisses me, but I couldn’t just knock those thoughts away. They have been imprinted onto my mind ever since, and now it’s happening.
Or maybe not. We’re drunk. But I so badly want this.
“What’s so bad about being weird?” she asks me in a seductive tone that makes an awful whining noise come out of my throat. She chuckles and lowers her head even more. “What was that?”
I shrug. “I’m nervous,” I say. “And we’re drunk.”
“And what about this is making you nervous?”
“It looks like you want to kiss me…” I whisper.
“And what if I do?”
I raise an eyebrow.
Ellie places her lips on my forehead and smoothes the wrinkles lining my skin. “You are nothing they say you are. You’re intelligent, you’re beautifully weird and you I know you’d be one badass fighter.”
I look up at her, our lips mere centimeters apart, and frown. “Then why don’t they see that?”
Ellie’s fingers move up from the bottom of my neck up to my cheeks. She rubs her thumbs along my lips and whispers, “They do, I promise you they do, Clem. I think maybe they don’t want to risk losing you, even if they can show you how to be a badass warrior.”
I crack a smile, even though it might be the fakest one I’ve ever put on. She must notice, though, because she leans in as close as she can. “If I kiss you, is there a chance this frown will disappear?”
I lick my lips and stare up at her dark eyes that seem to seep into my body. “Maybe,” I whisper, and allow her lips to sink into mine.
Her hands wrap around my cheeks and mine wrap around her hair. She pushes me down into my bed and I slowly lean back, wrapping my legs around her waist. I act needy, because I am. I kiss her like I’ve always dreamed of, with my lips following hers and opening up my mouth when she wants to dart her tongue in.
I’ve kissed one person before Ellie, but it was to get her off my mind. She was spinning in my head, owning every single crevice of my brain. I used to think it was on purpose–the universe was trying to drive me mad before the walls of Jackson did. But now I think… Well, I don’t know what the universe was trying to do. What I do know is that all those times I made out with Kennedy was to prepare me for the making out Ellie and I are doing.
The kissing between Ellie and I is fervent. She’s kissing my lips, sucking my bottom lip, kissing along my neck down to my collarbones. She’s trying to pull a leg over one of mine so she can–what I assume–hump it, but before she does, I pull away.
“Maybe let’s go back down,” I whisper, out of breath.
She pulls her head away from my neck and brushes her hair out of her face. “Not yet,” she says. “I have something to tell you.”
I nod. “Do you like me?” I ask.
She chuckles. “Yes, but that’s not what I was going to say.”
I frown. “Oh.”
“I thought that was obvious,” she tells me. “That I like you. I’ve been staring at you ever since I showed up.”
I drop my head in embarrassment and sheathe my eyes with my hands. “I couldn’t tell. I’m sorry.”
Ellie lifts my head with both of her hands and sits on her calves in front of me. She kisses the corner of my lips and pulls away. “It’s okay, Clem. Don’t worry about that right now.”
I nod. “So… then… tell me what you were going to say.”
She nods and drops her hands onto my shoulders, where she rubs my blades. “You remember that mall I told you about ages ago?”
My eyes open wide and I smile. “Yes. The one you found when you went on patrol the first few times.”
She nods. “What if I sneak you out one of these days and take you there? Just us. We can look around and make it memorable for your first time outside of Jackson?”
I nod. I nod like a child who’s just had a tub of sweets. “Yes!” I exclaim, but quickly run a hand over my mouth. “Sorry… But yes! We should.”
Ellie nods and kisses me one more time. “How about next Friday? Our dinner will be at 4, and we can sneak out and make it back here by midnight. They won’t even notice we’re gone–they’ll be drunk by eight o’clock.”
I nod. “Okay. Deal.”
Ellie kisses the side of my head and pulls away, crawling off my bed. She walks over to my record station and thumbs through my vinyl records. I crawl to the end of my bed and watch as she grabs one and pulls it out of its sleeve. She pulls the needle up and sets the record down. Then she places the needle back down on the record and we wait for the music to begin.
Ellie turns and extends a hand. “Wanna dance? To get you out of your bad mood?”
I bite down on my lips to hide my smile and nod. I take her hand and she pulls me up, almost launching me into the air. I hold onto her as she spins me around, and once we’re tired, we plop back onto my bed.
I turn my head to her and smile because she’s already looking back at me. “I’m excited about this trip,” I whisper in case anyone is standing outside.
“Me too. I’ll make sure to make it extra special.”
“You promise?”
She nods. “I’ll make sure nothing happens to you.”

My opinions on Ikemen Villain Characters
Look! I just found out today that there are voiceovers of the characters. Yes! I forgot to hear them when I was translating the whole character profile. I was listening to their voices and I'm slowly warming up to some of the characters I didn't care about at first....and I found my new favorites!!!
William Rex
He looks BEAUTIFULLLLL!!!! I'm happy that they broke the trend of Black-haired male leads. As the page-boy of this game, he looks perfect. His design is not too over the top but also not blunt. I LOVE THE COLOURS USED ON HIM!!!! I'm in love with that beautiful cape!!! Design-wise, out of the page boys of every ikemen game, William is my favorite.
Personality-wise I feel like he's gonna be the friendly type, which is not usually my favorite...but I hope they make him domineering and a little bit sadistic, who loves teasing people. I hope they do it! Then I might fall in love with this guy even more. I can't wait for the trailers to come out!!! For now he's my 2nd Fav.
And in my other account, I said that there will be 3 factions----one led by the black-haired male lead, one by the black-haired male lead's rival, and the last one by the villain. This guy looks like he is the leader of the 1st faction----containing Harry and Liam (Alice in wonderland gang) because he's the Queen of hearts.
Elbert Greetia
Ahh...Blonde hair blue eye male leads are the best! Repeat after me: "BLONDE HAIR BLUE EYES MALE LEADS ARE THE BEST AND I WILL WORSHIP THEM"
He looks..haaa....so pretty that'll die when he smiles at me. Again, the design, the cape...I wanna see him as the rival male lead to William because he's also a Queen (Snow white gang) and he also has a fancy cape....and he looks beautiful so much that he can have my heart as well. I'll eat any poison apples he gives me and I'll die happily~
Personality-wise I feel like he's the quiet type but also he sounds very kind and maybe a little bit of a yandere. But I'm looking forward to this guy because he's the second male lead according to me. Now he's sharing the spot with William as my 2nd Fav.
Victor
I'm in love with this guy ever since I saw his silhouette and recently, I've started liking male leads with long hair. I know everyone expected him to have white hair, if you deny then you're lying! I too expected him to have white hair but I'm happy with this design as well...because he looks as equally as BEAUTIFULLL as the two people mentioned above. Again, the BEAUTIFULL CAPE!!!
Victor, I have an offer for you. How about leaving this game and joining Ikemen Genjiden as IDK a new demon or something? Or become the King of the Underworld....because that's the vibe you're giving me right now!!! I swear, if you become the king of the underworld, I'll present myself to the eight-headed serpent and would ask him to swallow me so that we can meet in the underworld and get married....and....make me your Queen...I guess. (Yeahh, that's a bit too much)
Personality....I can smell my Yoritomo. I feel like this guy is gonna be Yoritomo with long hair. (If you don't know who Yoritomo is.....well, he's my husband) because look---they both have black hair, they both have blue eyes and they both have that (⌒‿⌒) fake smile....or maybe he is actually Yoritomo....
Harrison Gray
I like Harry's design, although he doesn't look like a prince, he looks like a more playful sarcastic free thinking kinda guy. He could be the big brother character of this game...and I'm very picky about the big brother characters. I want them to sound cool, desirable, and caring towards MC like patting her head and giving her his charming smile, teasing her from time to time, and spoiling her when she works hard...Yeah! That's the big brother male lead character I want! I just don't want Cybird to ruin this character by making him overly perverted and doesn't make his every dialogue sound like it's a script from a porn movie. That's all! He looks nice, so I want him to sound cool!!
Liam Evans
Design-wise, he's fine....I'm more concerned about his personality. Yeah, sure he's gonna be the character that flirts with MC constantly. I don't mind those types of characters but I'm picky about them as well. Again, I don't want them to be overly perverted. Make him a little bit like a gentleman but also flirts with MC from time to time. I'd be happy if MC playfully flirts with him too instead of blushing like a typical MC. But for now, he's my least fav from this game.
Roger Barel
Hmmm....I wasn't interested in him at first, but he's slowly growing on me..for some reason. I feel like once I start playing the game, I might start liking him even more. But for now, my heart belongs to Victor, William, and Elbert. For now...all I can say is...Wait for me, my love...
Nice design...doesn't give doctor vibes at all and he is egoistic? Can't wait to see how that transpires. For now, he's my 3rd Fav even though I'm not super into megane characters. Just please don't hold a whip, sir. I don't wanna see another megane character with a whip in their hands.
He's a doctor character as well, so if in the story MC is sent to war something, I need a valid reason as to why she's there. I don't wanna hear excuses like "Oh, she's here to treat the injured soldiers." or "Oh, she's the lucky charm"
Alfonse Sylvatica
Two words: TOTAL PSYCHOPATH. He looks to be SPY character of this game. That's all I feel for him. He's now along with Liam as my least fav character from his game. Though it might change once I start actually playing the game.
Jude Jazza
Again, another man with a beautiful cape!! I know it's a coat, but he wears it like a cape and he's a format Yakuza member? Seriously? Cybird, when are we going to get Ikemen Mafia? Make that you're next game!!! If you're running out of ideas, just ask me or the whole fandom!!
Design-wise, he's perfect, he gives me rich bossy vibes! He could be tsundere. Yeah! SO far, I haven't seen the tsundere character of this game, so maybe Jude is.......Hmmm...
Personality-wise, he is said to be arrogant and ruthless and loves to enjoy people's misery....sounds like Ibuki 2.0. I might like him. I'm starting to love villain characters recently. 'Villain characters' as in 'Villains' from each game for example, Kicho from Ikemen sengoku, Silvio from Ikemen prince, and my fav, Yasuchika, Ibuki, and Akihito a.k.a YasuBuAki!
Ellis Twilight
This guy, I feel like he has some kind of obsession with Elbert. I can't understand Japanese, so I can't tell what the characters are actually saying about each, so it's just my guess. I wouldn't mind a good platonic relationship between the male characters. Some great friendship moments, brotherhood, a little bit of rivalry, tension, and awkwardness in showing that the male leads care for each other...things like that are what I crave! Simply a romantic story with MC is just boring, so I want scenes where the male leads have fun moments together, like teasing each other or playing video games...anything is fine! Don't shy away from doing it again, Cybird, the fandom really loves it when you show male leads with great chemistry in a funny situation. Ellis for now is my second least character.
The list is like this:
Victor (obviously)
William and Elbert
Roger
Jude
Harry
Ellis
Liam and Alphonse
