You're shaking by the time you're out of the bathroom. There's no doubt, you think with a slight tremble on your lower lip. It almost feels like the world around you is closing in. Suffocating your lungs. Your vision blurs.
This can't be happening. Not to you.
It's not that you didn't want to have kids.
But with the circumstances, and Billy and you not being married.
At this point you're sobbing uncontrollably, gasping for air. It's a good thing you had the house for yourself tonight. Sliding down the wall, hiding your face in your hands. How could you let this happen? You should've been more careful.
Your mind goes back to that day when neither of you cared about the consequences. Caught up in the moment, tearing each other's clothes; eager to be together. You hadn't seen Billy in weeks. You heard things about that specific expedition. He got injured. You remember the gnawing fear clawing at your chest. And then there he was, knocking on your door as soon as he got back in town. His shoulder wrapped around bandages. He kissed you hard, desperately.
Hitting the mattress with you on top of him, not wanting to hurt him anymore. The sweet things he murmured in your ears, hands intertwined as you fell apart together.
-
You didn't get any sleep last night.
Your mind is still spinning with the anxiety. The morning sickness that started to disrupt as soon as you woke up. Red, puffy eyes that you try to dissimulate by washing your face hoping it goes away.
You get dressed feeling devastated, knowing that you'll have to face him as soon as you enter the kitchen. The mere thought makes you want to throw up. But you leave the bedroom nonetheless. Walking down the hallway feeling your hands sweating and your ragged breathing.
The hallway stretches before you, a daunting path leading to the inevitable confrontation awaiting in the kitchen. Your hands tremble, and the sweat on your palms mirrors the anxiety that courses through your veins. Each step feels heavy, weighed down by the knowledge of the truth you carry and the impending revelation that awaits.
As you step into the kitchen, the air thickens with tension. The mere thought of facing him, makes your stomach churn.
The sound of his voice breaks through your thoughts.  “Mornin’,” Billy’s husky voice greets you. “Mornin’,” you whisper back, a slight quiver in your voice as you turn to face him. He looks at you with a furrowed brow, his eyes tracing the contours of your face as if he’s searching for something.
"Everythin’ alright?" he asks, concern etched across his features. His hand, reaches out to tenderly tuck a strand of hair behind your ear. You hum in response, but the expression on his face reveals his skepticism.
The confrontation intensifies as he turns to face you, his thumb tracing along the seam of your bottom lip. His warmth envelops you, but the butterflies in your stomach multiply. The air becomes charged as you summon the courage to speak the truth.
You hum in response, but you can tell from the expression on his face that he isn’t buying it. “I’ma try that again and this time I want the truth,” he turns on his side to face you, his thumb tracing along the seam of your bottom lip as you pull it between your teeth.
“You bite your lip when you're lyin’ darlin,” his eyes are full of warmth as they gaze at you, and you gulp nervously as the butterflies begin to flutter in your stomach.
Your breathing becomes ragged and your heart beats harder against your chest as you work up the courage to tell him.
"I’m pregnant," you mumble, the words hanging in the air. The warmth in his eyes doesn't fade, but he senses the weight of your confession. "Darlin, ya gotta speak up. I didn’t catch what you said."
You can feel his thumb rubbing gently against your cheek as you have to close your eyes to stop the tears from falling. “I'm pregnant, Billy.”
His thumb, once a source of comfort, stops its gentle motion. As you repeat the revelation, the atmosphere in the room shifts.
His eyes widened, a mix of shock and realization flashing across his face. "Pregnant?" he repeated, his voice barely above a whisper. The word hung in the air like a heavy storm cloud, casting shadows over the room. As the weight of the revelation settled, he took a step back, needing the physical distance to match the emotional abyss forming within.
You nodded, tears welling up in your eyes. "I’m so sorry, I don't know what to do. We're not married; this wasn't part of the plan." His world was unraveling, and you could see it in the furrowed lines on his forehead as he took a step back to process the sudden news.
Billy's expression shifted from shock to a mix of emotions you couldn't quite decipher. "Pregnant," he repeated again, as if trying to process the information. "You... we..." The uncertainty in his voice mirrored the turbulence in his mind, the realization of an unforeseen future weighing heavily on him.
You felt a lump in your throat, tears streaming down your cheeks. "I'm scared, Billy. I don't want to lose you because of this." The room echoed with your sobs, an earnest plea for him not to shut you out. He stood there, deep in thought, grappling with the magnitude of the situation as you sobbed, "Please don't shut me out."
He reached out, pulling you into a tight embrace. "Hey, hey, darlin', you're not gonna lose me. We'll figure this out together."
You clung to him, soaking in his reassurance. "But Billy, we're not married, and I don't want our child to grow up without a proper family."
He pulled back, cupping your face in his hands, his blue eyes searching yours. "We'll get married, sweetheart. I love you, and I won't let you face this alone. We'll make it work."
Relief washed over you as you realized that, despite the unexpected turn of events, you had Billy by your side. He pressed a gentle kiss to your forehead, murmuring, “I promise everything’s gonna be just right, darlin’.”
"I love you, and I'll always be here for you and our baby. Ok?”
As you held onto him, the weight on your shoulders seemed to lift, replaced by the promise of a future filled with love and family. His fingers settle on your waist, and he rubs back and forth a moment.
As you gazed into his blue eyes, still searching for any lingering doubt, you found only sincerity and determination. The unspoken promise of a future together hung in the air, and the realization that you weren't alone in facing this unexpected journey filled your heart with gratitude.
"I'm so lucky to have you, Billy," you whispered, your voice tinged with gratitude. His eyes sparkled with affection as he leaned in, closing the gap between you with another tender kiss. It started slow, a sweet exploration of shared emotions, but soon blossomed into a passionate exchange that spoke volumes.
His lips molded against yours, each kiss a declaration of love and commitment. As your hands found their way to the back of his neck, fingers intertwining with the strands of his hair, the kiss deepened.
Breaking the kiss, Billy rested his forehead against yours, his breath mingling with yours. "We're in this together, darlin'. Nothing's gonna change that," he murmured, his words a soothing melody that resonated in the air. You looked into his eyes, finding a mixture of determination and tenderness that melted away any lingering fears.
You couldn't help but smile back, grateful for his unwavering support. "I love you, Billy."
"I love you too, more than anything," he replied, his voice a warm caress.
His hand, still settled on your waist, began to wander beneath your shirt. The touch was gentle, almost hesitant, as if exploring the softened hill of your stomach. In the close proximity, you could hear his breath, stirred and stuttering, a reflection of the emotions swirling within him.
“You are so beautiful,” he tells you, and this time, his voice has dropped an octave - rumbling close and hot, reaching through you to a place that makes the hair on the back of your neck rise.
His hands are smooth and firm as they sweep over your stomach, your hips.
"Are you okay with this, darlin'?" he asked, his eyes searching yours for confirmation.
A mischievous smile played on your lips as you leaned in, brushing your lips against his ear. "More than okay," you whispered, the hot breath against his skin sending a shiver through him.
His hands continued their journey, exploring the curves of your body with a confidence that stirred the passion between you. The atmosphere was thick with desire as you surrendered to the intoxicating dance of touch and taste.
“If I knew you’d be fucking beautiful,” he mutters, “carrying my child -”
As his lips met yours once more, the room seemed to fade away, leaving only the two of you lost in the heat of the moment.
“We would’ve done this much sooner.”
"I’m taking you to the bedroom," he suddenly declares, rising to his feet - you in his arms. You shriek in surprise and enjoyment, laughing as he maneuvers you feet-first through the narrow hatchway.
In the dimly lit room, the air was thick with desire. The soft glow accentuated the hunger in Billy's eyes as he gently set you down on the bed. The chemistry between you was palpable, a magnetic force pulling you closer.
Not wasting a moment, Billy gracefully moves to sit on the edge of the bed, and with a playful smile, he tugs you down with him onto his lap. You willfully part your legs, and you seat yourself automatically in his lap. His hands grip your hips, a low growl escaping his lips as the newfound intimacy takes hold. You suck in a breath as your crotch drags over his groin, and you realize he’s hard already, just from touching you.
The tension in the room rises, an unspoken understanding passing between you and Billy. His lips find yours again, the kiss filled with a hunger that mirrors the shared desire in your eyes. As his hands explore the contours of your body, the room becomes a haven for the passionate exchange.
"Are you sure about this? “Can you-“" he murmurs against your lips, his eyes searching yours for consent. He wants to touch you, make love to you but he doesn’t know if it will hurt the baby. He’s never had sex with a pregnant woman before.
“We can have sex. It won’t hurt the baby,” you promise.
You hiss a breath, “Just be gentle-” You cut yourself off, biting the inside of your bottom lip. One of his hands is wandering around your front, threateningly close to your breast.
“Like this?” he coaxes, urging you on as he cups the full weight of it in his smooth, warm palm, “Or is it better like this?” His thumb creeps tantalizingly close to your nipple, and you start to breathe a little quicker. “Please, Billy-”
“Tell me, darlin’?” he repeats, pinching just lightly with thumb and forefinger, but in your current, hyper-sensitive state, it’s enough to make you whimper.
“More Billy, please.”
Suddenly, Billy is lifting you to your feet - pulling your nightgown up, not a moment later he’s got his hand back between your legs. He pulls you back against his chest, his arms around you, one molding you to him - the other in between your thighs, his fingers working through your already slick folds, probing at the entrance of your weeping cunt.
“Yeah?” he whispers in your ear, his voice tuned to a sinister, promising tone, “You want me to make you come?”
“Yes,” you near-sob, the stretch of his fingers in your oversensitive channel almost too much already. He grinds the heel of his hand against your clit and you clench your eyes shut and let your mouth fall open on a moan.
“That’s it,” he purrs, “Let me take care of you. Let me make you come.”
And, seconds later, you do - with a drawn out “Fuuu-uck,” and a groan that unfurls from the depths of your chest, your whole body shaking in Billy’s grip as your pussy squeezes furiously at his fingers. He caresses you through it as the waves arch your spine and make you throw your head back against his shoulder to cry your pleasure to the stars.
When it’s over, when all that remains are phantom twitches and an otherworldly buzz in every nerve, he pulls his hand back. You shiver, and he wraps both arms around you - his hands cradling your stomach - pulling you back against him.
“You feel different when you come now,” he muses, and you wrinkle your nose - he doesn’t have to see your expression to intercept it with an explanation, though. “Stronger. Wetter. It’s...I bet you’re fucking delicious.”
Oh, you think. “Oh,” you say, dimly, the ghost of a shiver moving through you. Billy feels it. Of course he feels it. You blush.
His gaze locks onto yours, a fiery intensity smoldering in the depths of his eyes. The subtle twitch at the corner of his lips conveys a silent invitation, playful and enticing, sending a thrill through your veins. In a heartbeat, he sheds his clothes, the urgency in his movements betraying the anticipation that courses through him. As you gracefully remove your nightgown, he sees your rounded stomach, a low moan escapes him. "Darlin’," he breathes out in a reverent whisper, the sound hanging in the air like a promise of the passion about to unfold.
You love the look in his eyes, feeling beautiful with your belly being round with his child. Billy smiles at you. “You look so beautiful.” He tells you, reaching up and cupping your cheek. “I want to put my mouth on you again. Make you cum.” He has dreamed about that night so many times, waking up hard and aching for you. “Lay down, darlin’.”
You won’t refuse him, thinking far too many times of him tasting you once more. You lay down, stomach slightly protruding as you look up at him. “Please, Billy,” you whine and he chuckles, shifting to kneel above you.
“Are you sensitive?” He asks, cupping your breasts and you nod, “Yes but it’s good.” He hums, leaning down to take a nipple into his mouth and you cry out in bliss.
He’s careful to not press down on your stomach. “Shh behave now, I’m gonna make  your mama feel real good,” he murmurs, kissing your stomach before he moves over to the other breast.
You run your fingers through his hair, moaning softly when he gently nibbles on your nipple. “Billy,” you sigh and he smirks against your flesh as he shifts to position himself between your thighs.
“Darlin’,” he responds, using his fingers to spread your folds before he leans closer to flick his tongue over your clit.
“Fuck,” you hiss, sensitive and he goes to pull away but you push his head to keep him between your legs. “It’s good,” you whimper.
Billy acquiesces to your demand, slowly licking through your folds and keeping one hand on your breast while he moves the other to your stomach. “Hmmmm,” his groan rumbling into you while he slides his tongue inside your cunt.
You moan, rocking up to meet his eager tongue. It won’t take long to get you to cum, you’ve been on the edge since he kissed you. So sensitive and ready for him. “Oh Billy. I’m going to-,” you cut yourself off with a whine.
“Do it.” Billy growls, nudging your clit with his nose. You fall over the edge, thighs pressing against his cheeks as he works you through it.
He loves every second of it, slowing his tongue down until he is just kissing your cunt softly. Watching your belly heave as you catch your breath. “Are you ready for me, sweetheart?”, he asks softly, not sure if you need another orgasm with the changes to your body. The last thing he wants is to hurt you or his baby.
“Yes. Yes. Please, Billy. I need you inside of me,” you whine, spreading your legs as he shuffles to kneel between your thighs. He grips his hard cock, pumping himself a couple of times, and he notches the head at your entrance, slowly pushing in. “Oh Billy-,” you moan, loving the way he stretches you out.
Billy starts to slowly roll his hips, keeping his weight off of you and his eyes stay fixed on yours. “You’re so fucking perfect,” he groans quietly, in a hushed, loving tone.
Your heart thumps in your chest as he slowly moves inside of you. “Billy, don’t stop,” you whimper
He grins. “Never, darlin’. Never,” he promises, reaching down to caress your stomach.
Looking at you as he continues to rock at the slowest pace he can manage, his cock barely dragging against your walls. He exhales a shaky breath, still inside of you and just barely moving. Enough to make you whine in protest, but you focus on those blue eyes you love so much.
“You feel so good, darlin’,” he murmurs, his voice a low rasp, expressing a mixture of desire and restraint. His eyes lock onto yours, searching for any signs of discomfort or hesitation. He leans in and kisses you.
He murmurs against your lips. “My future wife.”
You kiss his jaw up to his lips and before you kiss him, you murmur, “I’m all yours, Billy,” he groans, cock twitching inside of you and you rock up gently. “Always,” you whimper, kissing his lips softly.
He starts to move faster, rocking into you while mumbling praises,“Love you, so good.” He presses his lips to yours over and over again, shuffling to the side so he doesn’t worry about dropping down onto you and lifting your leg up higher on his hip, changing the angle of his cock deep inside you. “Cum for me, darlin’.”
You gasp when he hits deep, your walls fluttering around his cock, and when his deep voice orders you to cum, you can’t deny him. Whining as you clamp down on his length, soaking him with your cum. “Billy. Oh Billy. Fuck.” You moan, closing your eyes as he works you through your orgasm.
Groaning, he loves how you feel, absorbing this moment and having you in his arms again. He murmurs your name, continuing to work closer to his own orgasm.
Eyes focused on you as he rocks towards his own high. He clenches his jaw and within moments, buries deep to paint your walls with his seed. Already taken inside of you but it feels good. “I love you,” you murmur, breathing him in.
“I love you.” He nudges his nose against yours and kisses you softly before he pulls out of you and shifts to lay beside you, his hand on your bump.“I can’t wait to meet you,” he murmurs with pride.
“Everything's going to be alright,” Billy promises and curls around you, hand on your bump.

"go ahead, honey. pull the trigger." billy's voice is sweet against your ear.
your face morphs into a coy apprehension, "and you're sure this won't send me flying on my rear?"
he chuckles, straightening your arms a bit, "m'right here, i won't let that happen."
your eyes focus in on the three rusty cans in the distance, set atop a dry rotting log. you know there's no way you're going to hit them all. you'd be lucky to hit one.
but billy is adamant in both that you need to learn how to shoot, and that you’ll be a ‘natural’. his driving objective, however, being that since he can't be with you from sun up to sun down, he'll have to settle with teaching you how to fend for yourself.
it's not unlike him to behave this way. in the months you've known the gunslinger, you've come to find that his urge to protect you is enormous.
his protection isn't reserved just against the infamous wild men of the west, but rather, anything and anyone. if it could possibly do you harm, physically or mentally, he's there to guard and defend.
like a knight out of the princess tales your mother used to tell you.
you let out a harsh breath before your finger begins to press into the trigger. too soft at first, the metal remains in its' spot, you muster up all your courage and pull the trigger. your eyes are screwed shut as the bullet whistles away, and you quickly turn into billy.
his arms ensnare you, wrapping you tight, "what're you hidin' for? you hit it dead center, sweetheart!"
you lift your head, staring unabashedly into his blue eyes, "did i really?"
he hums, using his dominant hand to steer your gaze away from him and toward the target. sure enough, the can on the left side has a small hole right in its middle.
billy chuckles, his chest rumbling against your back, "told you, my girl's a natural."
you can't help but grin, the tension releasing from your shoulders, "or i've got a good teacher." you tease.
he gives you a squeeze before letting go, gesturing toward the cans, "c'mon, let's see if you can do it again."
emboldened by your first success, you square your shoulders and take aim. this time, you focus a bit more, remembering the sensation of the recoil and trying to replicate it. the shot rings out, and you open your eyes to find another can hit.
billy lightly claps you on the back, "see? just like that, sweetheart."
as you reload, you can't help but appreciate the way the afternoon sun plays on his weathered hat, casting thin rays upon his lips, "m’not as hopeless as i thought."
he grins, a mischievous glint in his eyes, "do i e’ver lie to you?”
you ignore his sly remark, focusing back in on your targets. with newfound confidence, you continue to practice, the rhythmic sound of gunshots filling the air. as the sun begins its descent, casting a warm glow over the landscape.
the sounds of gunfire continue, each shot feeling more controlled and confident than the last. with every successful hit, billy's pride in your progress shines through his loving stare. he stands by your side, offering guidance and encouragement, a quiet guardian in the backdrop of your learning.
as the sun dips even lower, casting a dim hue over the landscape, you catch a glimpse of billy watching you with a softness in his eyes. he often got this way, completely lost in you. especially when you're doing things his way— not in the way you'd normally feel inclined. you're rather tame and harmless in comparison to billy, the entire west, really.
growing up away from the fast-growing townships and travelers, when you met billy he completely flipped your world upside down. you gave him all your firsts, shooting his pistol only adds to the expansive list of firsts you've given him.
you go to take aim again, eyes closing as you shoot, still too frightened to keep them open— your bullet flies past your targets, missing entirely. you've grown used to the sound of a hit and when you open your eyes to find the miss, you groan.
billy's safeguarding nature becomes even more apparent as you meet his winsome eyes, his gaze lingers on you, subtle worry etched on his features.
he knows you're inexperienced, a stark contrast to the harsh realities of the world he's accustomed to. he knows it isn't, but if this were a shootout, that big of a miss would have cost you your life.
the mere thought of you in that situation is something he's not willing to entertain.
"you're doing mighty fine, sweetheart," he reassures, a tenderness in his voice that speaks volumes, "but remember, there's more to this than cans and targets. gotta keep those pretty eyes of yours open, alright?"
you nod, appreciating his concern and the earnest care he extends. it dawns on you that learning to shoot isn't just a practical skill— it's a testament to the depth of billy's affection. he's arming you with more than just a handgun— he's giving you a piece of his own resilience and determination.
as the sun sets, casting long shadows across the landscape, you take a moment to stand side by side with billy, appreciating the warmth of his presence. the sky paints hues of orange and pink, a picturesque backdrop to the bond that's been forged between you.
"thanks, billy," you say, sincerity lacing your words. "for teaching me, for being patient."
he smiles, a softness in his expression that contrasts with the rugged exterior, "my pleasure, sweetheart. always want you to be able to take care of yourself."
with the last rays of sunlight fading, you holster the gun, feeling a newfound sense of empowerment. billy wraps an arm around your shoulders, guiding you back towards the homestead. as you walk together, the echoes of gunshots in the ears serve as a reminder that you're not just learning to shoot— you're learning to navigate billy's world, and with his protection, you're sure you'll do just fine.

His hair was a mess. Curly and free of his hat for once, dancing over the plane of his forehead. You could count every freckle on his cheek if you wanted to, easier than counting stars. His breathing was soft, escaping his slightly parted lips in brief little puffs. He was sunk into the mattress next to you, arm slung around your side, fingers splayed over your back. You hadn't bothered to redress and neither had he.
It must have been nearly an hour since you woke up, his heartbeat stuttering in your ears. Even when you'd shifted, he hadn't woken. It'd likely been a long time since he'd slept in a decent bed, so used to collapsing and shutting his eyes whenever he could. Although he'd been here renting this room for nearly a week, there wasn't any way he was used to it yet. Or maybe he was just relaxed. You'd slept better than expected too.
Blinking, you shook yourself out of your daze, suddenly realizing where you were. Billy Bonney's bed. Billy the Kid's bed. And he was sprawled out as if it were nothing, palm warming your side, maybe leaving a handprint with how long it'd been resting there.
Sitting up, you watched his hand drop from your waist to your thigh. He still didn't stir. Letting the sheet fall away, you stiffened upon seeing the patches of red that marked his trail of kisses down your body, the result of his stubble rubbing at your skin. It'd been deliciously satisfying at the time, but now the leftover sting only heightened your shame.
Reaching down and rubbing at the most prominent marks on each inner thigh, you squeezed your eyes shut. Your innocence had been surrendered to a man whose face was splashed all over the West with a reward over his hat. The same hat you'd knocked off his head so you could tangle your hand in his hair. It'd been softer than you remembered.
Your brother James' childhood friendship with him as well as your brief romance felt like decades ago. It ended when he'd skipped town without so much as a letter. Needless to say, it'd been a shock to see him leaning on the bar last night, sipping his drink and grinning at something another man said. And when your eyes caught his, there was nearly a string of fire stretched in the distance between you. Everything unspoken pushed you together again, until there was no separation.
He'd been so smooth last night. Gentle, touch like a butterfly as he unwrapped you from your dress and whispered things that set your heart aflame. Though there were new shadows behind his eyes, this was the same Billy who'd told you he loved you all those years ago. You knew him, but obviously you hadn't known him.
He'd filled out in the time he'd been away. Your Billy Antrim had been broad and manly, but this Billy was somehow broad-er. Pressed against you now, it was easier to tell. He wasn't at all a kid, contrary to the name he'd earned from the law. It'd been freeing to be with him. You'd felt alive. This was something you'd done for yourself, no watchful eye of a protective brother standing above you like a lighthouse.
Maybe a piece of your heart had always been with him. It was so easy to fall back into your old patterns, conversation flowing like water, his touch familiar and safe. When he'd kissed you, it was like you'd found the X on a map you didn't know you were following. Was it worth all the heartbreak you'd nursed for so long?
Billy's hand twitched on your thigh, squeezing lightly, and you decided it was.
Lying back down, you pressed your cheek to his chest, settling your hand over his heart and letting yourself relax. Subconsciously, Billy's arm tightened around you, and you felt your eyes growing heavier. In all the time you'd imagined being in love, you never thought you'd feel comfortable sleeping next to someone. Apparently, your imagination had steered you wrong. It felt so safe here, like his arms could ward off any darkness that crossed your path. Except of course, for the night, when he would make love to you and hold you until you both succumbed to your dreams.
As you drifted off again, cozy and sleepy, you could finally place the feeling that'd been knocking at your back.
Home. He made you feel like you were home.
Tumblr media
Shielding your eyes from the sun, you peered out into the distance from the porch. James was supposed to be back by now with everything you'd sent him into town for. Normally you would've gone yourself, but today he'd insisted.
Not bothering to argue, you'd distracted yourself with chores, hoping it'd fill more hours than it had. The house was spotless now, the animals fed, dinner on the fire. The only thing missing was your brother.
Maybe he'd been held up in town. You wouldn't be surprised. There wasn't a soul your brother couldn't make friends with, and he put it to the test wherever he went. Leaning on the railing, you sighed, closing your eyes and trying to ignore the growling in your stomach. You were supposed to eat regularly, and your brother was aware of that. Ordinarily you'd go ahead and serve yourself up a portion, but one of the missing ingredients happened to be on the list you'd sent him out with.
It'd been a tense few months. There'd been troubles with the ranch hands, as well as a mysterious outbreak among the horses that only allowed one person to leave at a time. Not that you minded. It wasn't like you'd want to go to town anyways, for fear of who you'd see.
The ranch was distant enough to give you some peace. And you were able to avoid prying eyes, or whatever gossip could circulate. Now more than ever, you were wary of it. Ever since that night with Billy, truthfully. Last time you'd graced the bounds of town, you'd been on edge, scanning for familiar blue eyes, or curls peeking out from under his hat. Mercifully, he was nowhere to be found.
Time had passed. Enough time to grow bitter. The feeling left a bad taste in your mouth, but you couldn't spit it out. It had grown, twisting around your bones and wrapping fingers across your throat. If James had noticed, he hadn't said anything, though he didn't have to. The way he'd handled you lately told you everything you needed to know.
You bent your head, feeling slightly faint with hunger. Hair falling in front of your eyes, you stared down at the skirt of your loose-fitting dress. Sorting through what you had in the cabinets, you wondered if you could make do without what you'd been waiting on. As soon as you began to entertain the notion, it was dismissed. You'd been craving this soup all day, even in the warm of the dying summer. August was full of endings, and you felt as though you were hurrying along its departure by making something you usually reserved for winter.
Hoofbeats. Lifting your head, you perked up as you saw a horse in the distance, heading for you fast. Now you could make out James' familiar outline, of his hat and the dark grey shirt he'd left the house wearing this morning. Folding your arms and leaning back, you were ready to give him a hunger-induced earful for being late.
Squinting as he got closer, you could see the other rider behind him. From where they'd appeared on the horizon, you hadn't been able to make out the second horse, the other person tagging along. Smoothing your hair, you pushed aside any twinges of annoyance that came with James' apparent impromptu dinner invitation. You'd made enough food, surely, but you hadn't been expecting a visitor.
Your brother and his guest stopped, tying their horses and chatting all the while, the other man saying something that made your brother erupt in deep laughter as he hoisted his full bag from his horse. You stood up straight, thankful he'd at least followed the list.
Bounding up the stairs, James greeted you with a kiss to your cheek, holding your elbow with his free hand for a second. "You okay?" When you nodded, he squeezed, nodding briefly. "Got everything you asked for. And I brought Billy 'round for dinner."
Billy-?
You whipped to see the man standing at the bottom of the porch steps, hat in his hand as he looked up at you with those blue eyes that hadn't ever failed to put stars in yours. A tightness erupted in your chest, and you felt your expression drop. For a moment you were frozen, just staring at him.
Now memories from that night were stealing your vision. Waking up alone after falling back asleep, the spot next to you cold and empty. In fact, the room had been emptied of any remnant of him. The few possessions that had been strewn across the dresser had disappeared, along with his clothes, his boots, and his gun. When you looked out the window where the horses were tied up, his hadn't been among them. The only evidence he'd been there were the marks he'd left on your body and the indent in the other pillow.
He'd left you. Again.
Of course you'd felt stupid. Just like in your early youth, you'd fallen for his charm and heartbreak ensued. You should have known he hadn't changed. While the first time you'd been sad over it, now you were angry. And the following months only added fuel to your fire.
The way he'd looked at you had pulled you in, a lifeline in your sea of content misery. You'd been so hopeful, so happy over him that you hadn't taken any of the risk in mind. You didn't know what he'd been up to in the time that had passed. Seeing him in the bar that night, you hadn't asked questions, hadn't brought up anything about him leaving. It'd been nostalgic, a trick of the light that had you falling into his bed. And now you were paying the price for it.
All of this circled you like vultures over a fresh carcass as you stood there looking at him. He didn't break your gaze.
"C'mon, you're hungry, I know it," James said, putting his hand on your back and guiding you inside. "'m sorry I took so long. Didn't know Billy was back in town."
"Who would've guessed?" you asked, side-eyeing Billy as you allowed your brother to lead you in.
When you reached for his bag to dig out the soup's missing ingredient, James swatted your hand away. "You go sit. I know you've been on your feet too long today."
Billy looked at you curiously as you sat down, tucking your feet under the chair and chewing on your bottom lip. It felt embarrassing for your brother to be doing this right now, even though he had been for months. It was more that it was in front of Billy.
James started cutting the missing carrots, and you were left in silence with your unexpected guest as the sound of chopping filled the air. Billy shuffled where he stood, then decided to go into the kitchen. "I'll see if he needs any help." Only moments later he emerged, standing uncomfortably in front of the door.
You looked away, focusing on breathing in and out. Yet another thing you were supposed to do. Breathe and do it easy. It was okay. You'd been without him for months and you'd been fine. At least, that was what you had to tell yourself.
Billy sat across from you, and you could feel his eyes on you, though you didn't lift yours. Without looking, you knew his knee was bouncing, just a little. One of his nervous tics. "Didn't know James knew how to cook."
"He didn't until a few months ago." Your response was directed at the edge of the table, where your eyes followed the wooden pattern.
"How've you been?" he asked quietly, and you blinked.
It was a loaded answer. You didn't bother playing with telling him the truth. "Fine."
"James said you've been havin' a tough time," he muttered, and your eyes snapped up.
"What'd he say?" It came out harsher than you meant, and Billy's brow knit in confusion.
"Didn't say what about." Your shoulders slumped in relief, and he watched you suspiciously.
When you'd been his girl it'd been nearly startling how well he could read you. And the night you'd seen him again three months ago, it was evident how little that had changed. The way he'd been with your body against his, anticipating your needs, what you wanted him to do. He'd been perfect. It'd only made his leaving hurt more.
Opening his mouth, Billy began to ask you something but was interrupted by James bringing in the bowls of soup. You jumped up, but he shook his head. "Stay sitting. I'll get the other one." He kept leaving you alone with Billy. He didn't have a reason not to, but it still put you on edge. When your brother returned once more, some of the tension diffused, and you all lifted your spoons.
Dinner turned out well, even with the late addition of the carrots. James told a funny story about work that day and you finally cracked a smile, the burden on your heart lightening. When Billy answered James' question about what he'd been up to, you listened carefully, trying not to look like you were too interested.
"Had a bad run-in with a few folks from the last town I was in," he said, looking between you and James. The thumb of his hand on the table next to his empty bowl was tapping lightly, and you watched it. Up. Down. Up. Down. "Was actually here for a night a while ago but I had to skip again cause they found me."
You met his eyes, something chipping at the cast you'd put around your heart. That was why he'd left? Stiffening again, you looked down. He still could have said something. He'd had enough time to clear out his things, so he could have woken you or left a note or something. And then there was the matter of the first time he'd left too. A wound that hadn't healed, no matter how much you covered it and pretended it did.
James gave a low whistle. "You've had a real adventure. We're real glad to have you back, Billy."
"I shouldn't've ever left," he said, looking squarely at you. Heart thudding at your chest, you lowered your gaze.
Standing up, you fluffed your dress away from yourself, a habit. "I'm going to sit outside for a bit before bed."
James stood almost instantly, a hint of concern in his expression. "You feelin' okay? Need anything?"
"I'm fine," you promised, giving your dress another fluff. "I just want to watch the sunset." James accepted this, but you could feel Billy watching you leave.
Nearly collapsing on the front porch chair, you tried to focus on the sunset, counting the colors. This was an activity James had done with you one night when you were panicking, and it'd worked since. This was a different sort of panic, though. This was a disease eating at your insides, threatening to tear you in half.
You wouldn't deny you'd imagined seeing him again. Pictured what you'd say, what he'd say. But this was beyond what your mind could come up with. It was too soon. Too soon after everything. However much you'd thought you could handle had been an overestimation. No amount of time could have prepared you for his arrival here, in the one place you had left as refuge.
Red, blue, pink, orange. You made a list in your head. Clouds, grass, hills, trees. Maybe if you closed your eyes, everything would disappear. Every wrong sorrowful tragic aspect of your life gone in the blink of an eye.
How you wished these emotions had faded with time. If anything, the sand from the hourglass had coarsened them, created jagged shards of glass that cut you on the inside. At least nobody could see you bleeding.
When you heard boots on the floor, you stood, avoiding Billy's eyes as you watched the sun sink deeper into the earth. His scent hadn't changed- it was something distinct and all him. It permeated the air, nearly suffocating you.
"I'm sorry." He said it softly. You didn't bother looking. "I know me showin' up like this upset you-"
"I don't care what you do, Billy." Your tone was colder than you meant it to be, and beneath the shell you put around the woman you used to be, she winced.
"Sweetheart-" he paused when you winced. "I did a bad thing, I know. I hurt you-"
"You hurt me before," you whispered, looking up at him blankly. "I don't care."
Billy's face didn't change. You wished he would stop looking at you like that, like he'd stumbled on treasure in the desert. His mouth was flattened, like a ridge. Where tension had dissolved before, now it was stretched taut, ready to snap. Biting the side of your cheek, you fought the tears that threatened to make an appearance, but it was like trying to hold a bursting closet door shut.
When his hand found your face, you closed your eyes, humiliated as a tear slipped through the cracks, your facade crumbling. His course thumb caught it, and you lifted your lids, eyes hardening.
"Talk to me," he breathed, searching your eyes. You froze as two more tears slipped from your eyes and cascaded down your cheeks. The truth was at the tip of your tongue, but you kept your mouth shut. If he knew, it could ruin everything.
"I'm fine," you managed, but he held firm, shaking his head. "Billy," you started, voice firm as it could be. "Just go. It doesn't matter."
"It does matter-"
"You left me!" Taking a step back, you stared up at him, no longer caring if you cried. "You left me twice without ever saying a word and this time you left me-" Stopping short, your eyes widened slightly as you realized what you'd almost said.
"What?" Billy closed the gap between you, searching your eyes and grasping your shoulders, his touch causing you to stiffen. You hated that you wanted it, wanted him to pull you into his arms and tell you everything was okay. "I know somethin' happened, what-?"
You sniffled, smoothing a nervous hand over your midsection without thinking. His gaze dropped, and he froze. As soon as you realized what you'd done, you tried to step away but he held you firm, eyes never straying.
"You're-" Billy swallowed, growing pale at the notion. "Sweetheart, you're-"
Now your vision was blurry, hot tears springing and falling without your permission. You folded your arms over yourself, feeling your hands start to shake. Billy's hands flew to your cheeks, tilting your face up so you were looking at him, into those deep blue eyes that had gotten you into this mess to begin with. In the softest voice you could imagine, he asked, "Is it mine?" Sniffling once, you nodded. Billy exhaled, one hand sliding to your crown and pulling you into his chest. You didn't fight him.
Being back in his arms was a daydream you'd let yourself indulge in only a few times. But no amount of imagining compared to the real thing. He engulfed you, pulling you in like you'd been lost at sea,
Sinking into him, you could feel yourself breaking. This is what you had craved ever since you'd found out, the itch only he could scratch. When he pressed a kiss to the top of your head, you closed your eyes. "I needed you."
"I know." His voice was unsteady, nearly breaking as he tightened his arms around you. "I know. I'm so sorry, sweetheart." You hid your face in his chest and he smoothed your hair, voice sounding frantic. "I shouldn't've left..."
"I needed you," you repeated desperately, and you swore you felt a tear fall into your hair.
"'m sorry." The emotion in his voice had you grasping at his shirt, trembling as he lowered you both to the ground. He started to rock back and forth, rubbing a hand up and down your back. "I left you alone, I left you-" he cut himself off, burying his face in your hair. Tentatively, you lifted a hand, sinking into his dark curls. The familiarity prompted another tear or two out of you.
When you noticed it'd grown dark, you pulled yourself away, wiping your eyes and risking a look at him. He was solemn, eyes roving over you. It was a look you recognized. Checking, making sure everything was okay. You brushed away another tear, whispering, "It's okay."
"It's not." Billy reached for your hand, eyes soft.
"I've been fine without you, Billy," you snapped, pulling away before his fingers could brush yours. "You don't have to do anything for me."
"I'm not just gonna leave-"
"You had no problem doing it before," you cut him off, reaching up and gripping the porch railing to get to your feet. The sting of humiliation was already coursing through you, and your instinct was to run. "Just go. I'm fine."
Without another look, you strode into the house, making a beeline for your room and shutting the door. Not one set of footsteps, Billy's or your brother's, dared follow you.
Lifting a hand to your face, you slid against the door, body shaking again with tears.
Tumblr media
"Outta the way!"
You nearly dropped the plate in your hands, watching your brother stumble into the room with a limp, staggering Billy supported by his shoulder. Blood soaked the blue of his shirt, and your heart gave a pang. Feeling faint, you watched in a daze as he propped him up on the kitchen table, speaking lowly. James looked up, silently shooing you from the room. Turning on your heel, you fled and shut the door behind you, heart pounding in your ears.
Billy's presence on the ranch had been nearly constant since he found out that night, acting as a shadow toward you. Your brother, ever kindhearted, had hired him on, insisting he give work to his oldest friend. You'd protested but stopped once he started to question why it bothered you so much. Catching yourself, you realized James was bound to find out sooner or later. If you kept arguing, it would be sooner.
To Billy's credit, he kept his mouth shut about the paternity of your child. But that didn't mean he kept to himself. It seemed that every second he had away from work he spent at your side, pestering and fussing over you, constantly asking if you were okay, if you needed anything and maybe you should sit down because he didn't want you to get too tired. It was overbearing, and you fought him at every turn.
"Darlin'-" he'd protest, trying to guide you to a chair. "You gotta rest, alright? For you 'n the baby. Please?" Sometimes you would sit down begrudgingly, his pleading blue eyes persuading you into his way. Others, you would push away his hands, some sharp-tongued comment leaving your mouth as you stormed away to be anywhere but near him. Your emotions were running wild, a something you attributed to the new life growing inside you. Although, the circumstances surrounding the arrival of the baby's father couldn't have helped.
Still, he persisted. It was impressive, really. The way he kept at it, never once giving up. Whenever you burst out and told him to leave you alone, he just stood there, letting you take it out on him. It always ended in tears.
You cried more now than you ever had before, in private most often. Really, your head was all muddled from everything happening all at once. Billy was trying to flow seamlessly back into your life, but you wouldn't let him. He didn't deserve to get back in so easily this time.
But now as you paced the length of the living room, anxiety squeezing your heart and hammering at your ribs, the only thing in your heart was regret. A fierce sickness that clouded your senses and brought tears to your eyes. What if he died? What if the father of your child died and you could have forgiven him and you didn't? He'd hurt you, there was no doubt about it. But he cared. He'd proved it a million times since he found out, putting down roots just in case you decided you wanted him.
Here, as you shuddered and shook over the idea of losing him, you knew it was more than that.
"Hey-" At the sound of your brother's voice, your head snapped up. James looked harried, clenching his jaw as he ran a hand over his hair. "He's askin' for you. I can't do anything 'nless he sits still-"
"I'm coming." Your feet were moving before you knew it, and you stepped past James into the kitchen, heading straight for Billy.
The moment he saw you, he reached out, motions almost drunken. "Baby..." he slurred, catching your hand. "So...so pretty. Prettiest girl in the west..."
"Billy what happened?" you asked, squeezing his hand, brow scrunched. You were trying to ignore the blood on his shirt, the red growing deeper by the second. James was fetching something in the other room, bandages most likely.
"Shoot...shootout, darlin'..." he managed, grinning up at you and wincing when he shifted. The pain must be making him woozy. "Don' worry 'bout me..."
"Why were you in a shootout?" you asked, horrified. Holding his hand close to your heart, you whispered, "You weren't on the ranch."
"Tryna make a lil' extra, honey." Billy reached out with his other hand, cupping your face. "F' the baby. 'n you." He pulled your fingers down to his lips. "Wanna marry you, pretty. Do it right..." Wincing, he tried to continue. "Didn't do right by ya the first time...wanna make it better..."
James interrupted, arriving with a messy pile of medical supplies in his arms. "Give him some laudanum." He shoved the bottle and a spoon into your hands, not seeming to notice the look on your face leftover from what Billy said. Almost stiffened by shock, you measured the amount and fed it to him, praying it would kick in sooner rather than later.
"Good. Help me get his shirt off." James nodded at Billy. In your condition, your brother wouldn't dare have you help with something like this unless it were dire.
With shaky hands, you got to work, ignoring the way Billy was blatantly watching you, as if you were a saint in a storm. You didn't grimace when his blood stained your hands, peeling the shirt away from his chest and working his arm out one side while James did the other. He tossed it to the side, tearing his eyes away from Billy. "You're gonna talk to 'im okay? Distract him cause I dunno when the medicine'll kick in."
"Okay," you whispered, still staring into Billy's eyes. They were clouded over, his head lulling. When James started to dab at the affected area, Billy gritted his teeth, grunting and reaching for your hand on his uninjured side.
You remembered your job, squeezing his hand. "I..." Panic was seizing you, holding your tongue. James gave you a look, and you were kicked into action. "It's okay. You're gonna be okay. We're gonna get you fixed up, alright?" Tears pricked at your eyes. "Billy, you've gotta hang on, alright? I...we need you. Both of us." You weren't talking about you and James.
Billy's eyes went soft, and he held fast to your hand, looking up at you like a puppy. You wouldn't be surprised if he melted off the table, a snowdrift in the sun. James was hard at work, and you avoided looking. You never wanted to see this much of Billy's blood again.
A thousand questions poked at your tongue, things you wanted to ask your brother, ask the father of your child, but you held back. Later you'd interrogate them all you wanted, but for now Billy's safety was at stake.
"Need to sit him up," James finally said, sliding his arm under Billy's shoulders. "Here- get on the table and keep 'im steady." You scooted up, feeling numb as you went through the motions. Billy looked dazed, but he was still as you tucked your shoulder under his arm, back against his side. His fingers splayed out, seemingly searching for something, and you gave him your hand.
James wrapped the bandage around Billy's middle, and you shifted your body as needed, still pressed to him. It was precautionary; he wasn't nearly out of it enough that he'd have trouble staying upright. But you found yourself wanting to stay, your mind telling you that if you left for even a second, he'd collapse and never wake up.
"Alright." James stood up, nudging his chair back. "He's gonna be fine. Was just a graze, so we'll check it every little bit."
Your eyes were on the ground, Billy's hand in yours the only thing you were aware of. The pounding of your heart slowed when it was confirmed that he would be okay, but you still wanted to cry. You almost lost him today, with every unsaid thing still poking at your backs.
James managed to guide him out of the kitchen, depositing him in his own bedroom for now. You trailed in behind them, unable to tear your eyes away from Billy, shirtless and bandaged, his eyes fluttering shut as the lingering opium in his system lured sleep to him. He's safe. He's safe, you repeated to yourself. He's safe.
Turning to James, you hissed, "What the hell were you doing that ended in a gunfight?"
Swallowing, your brother shifted on his feet. "Was a job. We've done 'em before 'n everything was fine but this time..." he winced. "'nother gang showed up and they wouldn't back off. We're lucky he wasn't hurt worse."
You stood shocked, eyes wide. "A job-"
"Before you say anythin'-" James held up his hands. "Billy was stubborn 'bout it. He wanted...well..." His eyes fell to your midsection, which became more swollen by the day. "He's been lookin' for ways to make more money for you 'n..."
Your heart sank. He knew. Turning to look at the man sleeping on the bed, you felt another wave of emotion crash over you.
"He cares a lot about you," James said quietly. "He woulda done it without my help, but it's a good thing he didn't."
Silent, you fought back tears, regret welling up like a river after the first snowfall. All this time while you'd been pushing him away and insisting you didn't need him, he'd been working for you. For your future, and for the baby. You knew all too well that any other man would have run for the hills and left you with "your" problem, but not Billy.
You'd been taking him for granted. And it had almost killed him.
Looking back at your brother, you whispered, "I can watch him for awhile. You go clean up. You can use my room if you need some rest." The sun was still high in the sky, but James looked exhausted. He merely nodded, meandering away after a final glance at Billy.
James' footsteps thumped away, and you sank into a chair close to Billy, watching the rise and fall of his chest like his life depended on it.
Sliding a hand over your belly, you found yourself trying not to cry again. For months you'd had yourself convinced that you didn't need him, that you could do this on your own. Have the baby and do the best you could, all the while nursing an ache that you refused to admit was there.
A tear bubbled up, spilling from your eye, and you sniffled, looking down and swiping at it. It proved to be pointless when more sprouted, flowing down your cheeks faster than you could get rid of them. You took in a sharp breath, letting your hand drop to your lap as you cried silently, the tightness in your chest nearly suffocating.
You nearly jumped when you felt a hand on your knee, palm warm as it rested there. When you looked up at Billy, his eyes were open, brow scrunched in concern. You tried to clear your tears with your hand again, but he squeezed your thigh.
"Sweetheart..." his voice was sleepy. "What's wrong?"
"Go back to sleep, Billy," you tried, blinking rapidly, sniffling and setting your other hand on his. "You need to rest."
"Been tellin' you the same thing for weeks," he mumbled, shifting to the side and lifting his hand from your leg, effectively opening his arm. "C'mere." When you only stared at him, the corners of his lips turned up just slightly. "'s okay. We both need it."
All resolve gone, you found yourself obliging, crawling into bed with him on his uninjured side and letting him guide your head to his shoulder, body relaxing once it was against his. As you settled into him, his hand found its way around your waist, the tips of his fingers on your swollen tummy. It felt like a missing piece of you sliding into place.
"I'm sorry." The words fell out of your mouth, and Billy hummed, rubbing your side.
You couldn't see his face, but you knew the furrow in his brows hadn't unfolded. "What for?"
Everything. There were a million things you wanted to say, but they all fell short when you lifted your head to look up at him. Earnest blue eyes, hitched to you like you were the one thing keeping him from floating into the stars. Swallowing, you whispered, "You got hurt...because of me..."
"No." Billy's hand pressed at your side until you laid back down. "No, that wasn't your fault. Was a stupid thing to do."
"You were doing it for me..." you whispered, more tears blurring your vision. "And I haven't been kind to you since you came back."
"Hey-" Billy grunted as he sat up a little, bringing you with him. Leaning against the headboard, his fingers drew a soothing vertical pattern at your waist. He searched your eyes, shaking his head. "I shouldn't've left. It's the worst thing I ever did. Leavin' you alone after what we did..." he exhaled deeply, mouth flattened. "It was bad enough I did it the first time."
"But you had a reason...'n I shouldn't have been so mad..." you whispered.
He thumbed the side of your face, eyes tender. "I thought I was protecting you." His shoulders slumped. "But all I did was hurt you."
"It's okay," you breathed, holding his wrist. There was no bitterness or loathing or grudges behind it. Everything that had happened was in the past. He was here now.
"It's not," Billy mumbled, but his expression lightened. You knew your anger at him must have taken a toll, and it must have been a relief not to have it burning him anymore. He brought his hand to the back of your head, stroking your hair with his thumb. "You know I've loved you all this time? Think there's somethin' wrong with me. Like I'm cursed. Bad things happen to the ones I love and it's usually my fault."
"No, bad things happen to everyone," you corrected, heart aching. Swallowing, you softly said, "I've loved you too. All the while."
Billy paused, his eyes softening. The way he watched your expression like he was making sure it wasn't a trick broke your heart all over again. He'd been hurting just as much as you, and you'd been too caught up to notice.
You leaned forward, catching his lips in a soft kiss, careful not to lean on his injured side. He used his hand at your crown to hold you to him, mouth moving slow and steady and easy, the feeling of his mouth against yours nearly convincing you he never left. You may as well have been eighteen again, fresh in love and invincible.
Pulling back, Billy brushed a kiss to your nose, than your forehead, and you closed your eyes. His hand found your tummy again, hold protective. "I love you. You and the baby."
"I love you," you whispered, meaning every syllable. Billy relaxed back into the bed, pulling you down with him and grinning when your belly poked him in the side. You nuzzled your head into his shoulder, eyes falling shut. "I've wanted you with me but I didn't know how to say it..."
"I wanted you too." Billy smoothed your hair, kissing your head. "I wanted to be here for you."
"You have been. Over and over," you promised, hand rubbing his chest. His skin was warm, and you felt sleepy just lying against it. "Over...and over..."
As you drifted off into dreamland, a part of you panicked, remembering the last time you'd fallen asleep next to him. A voice told you to keep your eyes open, to make sure he wouldn't run.
But when he pulled you in impossibly closer, laying another kiss to your head and sleepily mumbling that he loved you, the voice disappeared. You shifted comfortably, knowing when you woke up, he would still be here.
He would stay.

You and the boys damn near fell through the doors of some random boarding house you came across— the lot of you attempting to run away from a rival gang that caught you stealing cattle.
Jesse threw 10 dollars down on the counter, more than enough to get rooms for you all. You had been running around all day— but the smell of gunpowder and crimson blood still clogged your nose hairs and adrenaline still pumped through your veins. You simply wanted a bath and to go the hell to bed.
But, who would you be to turn down Jesse’s smiling face, holding out a shot of whiskey for you.
You sighed, your hat tipping down with your head as you shook it, your hands rested neatly on your gun-belt, cowboy boot tapping softly on the floor as you pretended to weigh your options.
“Oh, c’mon, Y/N.” He held it out for you. “Drink with us!”
You chuckled. “Why not,” You went to sit down at the bar next to them.
“Hell yeah!” Jesse and the rest of the boys who were scattered around the bar cheered— you normally weren’t one for their after hour shenanigans.
“Only for a little bit, though. I’m tired as hell.” You said, downing the whiskey shot.
“Sure,” Jesse waved you off with a knowing look, ordering a couple more rounds for you all. You laughed, going along with his antics as always. You had known Jesse since you were young— he was the one who had vouched for you in this group, who had helped you gain the respect that you had today.
You let out a hiss at the burning feeling of that whiskey going down your throat, slamming the shot glass back onto the table.
“I’ll have what they’re havin’.” You heard that familiar husky voice from next to you. Billy Bonney stood with a small smirk toying on his lips as he sat down on the stool next to you. He nodded at the bartender when he slid him said shot, the outlaw throwing it back without hesitation.
“Where you been, cowboy?” You asked, slightly tipsy.
“Been at the Saloon playin’ Poker.” He responded.
“You win?”
His smirk only grew. “Sure did. It was a big pot too,”
“Good for you, Billy.” You smiled, turning back to grab you and him another shot. “To your winnings.” You cheered, the pair of you clinking your glasses together before downing them.
“Aye, y’all get that cattle?” He asked, leaning closer to you with a quieter voice. “Y’all stink of gunpowder.”
“Nah,” You shook your head. “Their boys came out— the shots scared the cattle away, and we ain’t have enough ammo to fight ‘em off so we had to cut and run. Shot a couple of them, though.”
He hummed. “We’ll get ‘em next time, Y/N, don’t worry.”
“I hope so. Jesse here is runnin’ up his tab right now and we barely got enough cash to buy food.” You shook your head with a bitter smile. “Aye, at least we got liquor.”
“We’ll figure it out— we always do.” Billy reminded with a comforting smile.
“Yeah.” You sighed, trying to push the worries away. You downed one last shot before pushing yourself off the bar stool. “Alright, boys, that bath is callin’ my name. See y’all tomorrow.” You turned, heading to the stairs as you heard a string of good nights.
After washing up, you put on a comfortable nightgown, heading to the room that matched the key Jesse had given you.
You carelessly threw the door open, the towel in your hands still wringing out your wet hair. But said towel almost fell from your grip once you saw a shirtless Billy standing in the middle of your room.
“Oh, shit, I’m sorry,” You apologized as soon as his confused gaze landed on yours, backing out of the room. “Thought this was my room,”
He sighed, throwing on the shirt he was changing into before you walked in. “You’re good. Jesse told me downstairs that he ain’t have enough cash to get me a room— Hope you don’t mind, but I’d rather bunk with you than the one of the boys.”
“Oh, yeah, no, you can sleep in here. I don’t mind,” You nodded, walking in and shutting the door, placing your gun-belt down on the nightstand. Your eyes drifted to the small twin bed before you, your gaze going back up to Billy’s nervously.
“I can sleep on the floor, it’s alright.” He immediately tried to come up with a solution, already knowing what you were thinking of.
“Billy, I’m sure your back hurts just as bad as mine— if not more.” You waved him off. “I don’t want you to wake up even more sore tomorrow. It’s fine.. I ain’t scared of sleepin’ in the same bed as you. Unless you’re scared of sharin’ with me,” You lightly teased, laying down onto the bed, opening the covers for him.
A soft smile crept onto his lips. “Now, why would I be afraid of such a pretty lil’ thing like you?” He poked back, his words sending a blush to your cheeks as he got into bed, taking you up on your offer. The bed was quite small, and to ensure Billy wouldn’t fall off you were kinda hanging off the side.
A giggle left your lips. “There’s no way I’m not gon’ roll off this bed in my sleep and face plant onto the floor.”
He laid on his back, one arm thrown behind his head so he could look down at you. His gaze lingered onto yours for a moment— and you could see the gears turning in his brain. “Here,” He flipped onto his side, his hands slowly tugging you into him so your back was to his chest, his arm loosely hung around your waist. “I won’t let you fall,” He whispered into your ear, sending shivers down your spine.
“Thank you,” You leaned up to blow out the candle lit next to you before snuggling back into his arms, smiling. “G’night, Billy.”
His arms tightened around you, and you could hear a faint chuckle from behind you, the man placing a soft kiss to your head. “G’night, darlin’.”

mdni; had to write this real quick haha
billy working for your father and you sneak out of your room at night to meet him in a clearing near your ranch. He walks up to you with a smile, "There's my beautiful girl."
"You say that too much," you tell him, he scoffs, a smile still playing on his lips. "Cause 's always true. 'nd I always want my beautiful girl."
You shove at his chest, Billy purposely stumbling back a few steps.
"Can push me away all you want, baby, I'll want you just as much," he chuckles as he says it.
"Does it turn you on, too?" Your eyes flit down below his belt where his hard-on is showing then back to his eyes. Billy smiles more. "Oh, you caught me."
You smirk at him and move up closer until you can feel his body heat, his hands moving to your hips in an instant. But your hand rests right against his bulge, pressing your palm on it ever so slightly. "You're gettin' me riled up, we don't have much time," he mutters, clearing his throat, trying to feign some composure.
"Oh, I know, Billy. I know," and you press your palm firmer against him, rubbing him slowly over his pants, Billy's body involuntarily moving forward, his forehead pressing to yours.
"'M gonna go insane," he mumbles, his eyes fluttering shut as you continue palming him, only feeling him get harder. Billy tries to keep his breathing steady, but he lets out a shaky breath and you chuckle.
"Laughin'? You're laughin' at me?" His tone sounds annoyed, but he's smiling, his nose bumping yours the moment your fingers begin to fiddle with the buttons of his pants, undoing them. You peck his lips as you slip your hand into his pants. He bites his lip, stifling a groan when your hand wraps around his hard and pretty cock, stroking your hand up and then back down along the length of it.
You look down to watch yourself touch him, catching the sight of his tip and the way his hips press closer to your touch. You think to tease him more about how aroused he is this quick but you bite your tongue, focusing on how warm he feels, how thick he feels in your hand. Billy's jaw clenches as he grits his teeth. "You can make noise, there's no one here," you tell him, and he nods. "I know, sweetheart, but I can't risk it."
And it makes your heart drop for a moment, but then part of you savors the way his face screws up in pleasure. His teeth bite down on his lip as you quicken your pace, your hand jerking him just the way he likes it, your thumb swirling over his leaking tip and spreading the precum on his dick, which at the very least earns you a little moan from him. With each stroke, he wants to melt more into your touch. You take a second to focus on the head again, pressing your thumb to it, swirling your finger once more, and smiling as he tries to hold back his moans.
He closes his eyes a little tight, he grunts when you reach further down to caress the pads of your fingertips against his balls before returning to his cock.
"You're trouble," he mumbles and you feel the urge to shove him again but you hold back. "Yeah? Is it worth it?" You squeeze him in a gentle touch, stilling your hand. Billy opens his mouth to say something but then you start up your movements again, your grasp on him firm and purposeful as you jerk him, his hips trying to buck again but he stops himself, his words dying in the back of his throat.
So he just nods, sloppily kissing the corner of your lips, "I missed," he whispers. You giggle and kiss him correctly, swallowing a moan as you pump your hand faster. "'M warnin' you, 'm close," he says against your lips.
Billy gives your bottom lip a small kiss, his breath hitching when your thumb rubs his tip again. "Want you to come for me," you whisper to him, grinning at the way he shifts on his feet at your words.
"I will...I want to...fuck," he breathes out, leaning forward like he's gonna kiss you, but he lets out a moan instead, tipping his head back.
"I know, baby," you coo at him, leaning your head to his shoulder and looking down at your hand and his cock, the slight wet sound of your actions, your heavy breathing, and his muffled moans are the only things that can be heard right now. His cock twitches in your hand, "c'mon, come for me. Please?"
And you tilt your head up to look at him just as he looks down at you. Your eyes are big and your bottom lip jutting out just a little does it for him. Billy lets out a low grunt as he spills into your hand, no doubt making a mess of his pants as his come spurts out of him.
"Fuckin'...trouble," he mutters and shakes his head as he looks down at the mess, then at you as you remove your hand, licking his release off of your fingers with your eyes glued to his.
"Think your father would mind if I keep you out just a little longer?" He's joking, your father not even knowing you're there right now, but you shrug, quirking your lips into a smile as you start to walk away.
Billy doesn't let you get far, running over and wrapping his arms around your waist and lifting you up, spinning you around. "No fuckin' way you're leavin' like that, get your damn pants off."
let's chat about billy, here :)

billy antrim is smooth
he pulls you in with strong hands at your waist, warmth radiating off of him. his chest is broad and sturdy where your hands fall against it, flannel shirt soft and worn. there’s a group of other men somewhere in the corner of the saloon, playing at their guitars and fiddles while the oil lamps keep the place lit in a hazy glow.
“hey, sweetheart,” he drawls, giving you a crooked smile. so boyish and sweet despite the heat simmering in his eyes. “missed ya today.”
he’s been out in the sun, that much you can tell. his cheeks are redder than usual, freckles dotting his nose faintly. dust has settled in the wisps of dark hair that fray out from underneath his hat. he smells like grass and sunshine, something masculine and heavy below the surface. billy’s been pulling long days, doing work he never really tells you about. all you know and need to know is that he’ll come find you at the end of the day, he always does.
everyone in town always called him “the kid”, but by the time you’d met billy, he was all man. his jaw sharp and stubbled, tall and broad and firm, unyielding. he commanded attention, even when he didn’t mean to. billy antrim holds himself confidently, self-assured. he had a natural leadership to him, something that it caused people to look at him and see him. the men watch him with mixtures of admiration and envy, and the women watch him with longing and desire.
“missed you too, billy,” you say with a smile in return. and its true; you always miss him during the day. billy haunts your thoughts when the sun is up, then slinks into your arms when the moon replaces it.
he pulls you in tighter to his body, his hand splayed across your lower back pressing you flush against him. his grin twitches up a little higher at the little gasp that his actions pulls from you. this close, you can feel exactly how much he’d missed you pressing into your lower belly through your skirts.
“i know, baby.” he dips his head to skim the tip of his nose along your cheek, his breath tickling your ear. “can’t wait to get you alone,” he whispers, pressing the softest kiss below your jaw. you knew people were probably staring, his bold display of affection in such a public space making you shiver. it didn’t really matter much, though. everyone knew you were his girl anyway.
“slow down, cowboy. i’m havin’ a nice time right here, actually,” you tease. billy lets out a breathy chuckle that makes your stomach do fluttery things.
the boys in the corner continue to play and you let billy sway you to their song, keeping his heavy palm at your lower back and holding your hand in his free one.
“alright. you want slow, i’ll be slow for ya,” he whispers, mirth dancing in his gaze. “anything you want, darlin’.”
always so in control, your man is. but he bends for you, lets you take his reigns. you know he’ll always give it to you. billy antrim is steadfast and unwavering, until you look at him with your pretty eyes and sweet lips. when you tell him what you want, that becomes his whim too then.
later on, when your wants begin to melt into each other until neither of you can wait any longer, billy keeps his promise. the way he undresses you and pushes you gently down onto his bed is slow, even slower when his lips and tongue caress everywhere on your body he can reach until you’re gasping and mewling his name.
slow even as he rolls his hips into you, feeling the way your thighs tremble around his waist. his hands take their time caressing the length of your arms before his fingers are wrapping around your wrists, pinning them into the pillows above your head. his mouth does wicked things against your own, his tongue teasing and teeth nipping softly.
when you beg for him to move faster, he smirks against your lips and shakes his head.
“nuh uh. you wanted slow, remember? we’re gonna be slow tonight.”
he chuckles at your whine, making a cheeky point to push hips hips even more unhurriedly. his pubic bone grinds against your clit at every press, making your back arch. his cock grazes against a spot inside you that makes you sob his name, relentless even as he takes his sweet time with you. it’s overwhelming, the sweetest torture as he moves against you. his bare skin sliding against yours feels like velvet, smooth and soft and warm.
he’s everywhere all at once, and you relish in being completely at his mercy. his sheets smell like him, splayed out around you as you writhe; his mouth only ever leaves yours to find a new spot to kiss, lick, bite. his hushed voice fills your ears, low moans and filthy praises that make your cunt squeeze even tighter around him. billy’s a solid weight above you, completely surrounding you and all of your senses. he’s taking you apart piece by piece and you let him.
when you finally fall over the edge, it feels like it lasts for ages. your body shudders and you pant, whimpering as billy whispers praises in your ear.
“that’s it, baby. cum on my cock, just like that. fuck, you feel so good,” he growls, and you can tell he’s close too. your thighs tighten around him, hips lifting to meet each thrust of his until he’s groaning and dropping his head to your shoulder, spilling inside of you. his body shines in the moonlight with a thin sheen of sweat, hot to the touch and sensitive.
billy antrim is smooth where you need him to be, when he occupies your thoughts at all hours of the day and lures you into his bed at night.

The reward had been posted for weeks, and any man who dared to set foot in the woods on the hunt for the witch who had been cursing local crops and killing livestock didn't return at all. Billy was confident, though. He could draw and shoot quicker than anyone, and he had not only been offered the reward, but also the clearing of his name and a clean slate- and damn if that wasn't an impossible offer to turn down. Even if the sheriff was pretty damn desperate in order to seek Billy out unarmed to beg him to go after this witch.
Rifle in hand, he walked for hours hunting for a girl he'd only heard rumours of. Of her pretty hair that fell in enchanting waves and her bright, sparkling eyes that were deceptive in a way that could suck a man in and kill him with nothing more than a quick flick of her wrist. But he'd met plenty of girls like that before. He also heard she was horrid, scary and old and plucked straight from everyone's mother's horror stories passed onto them as children to keep them in their beds at night. In truth, he had no clue what he was walking into.
The forest was quiet today, eerily so, without even the chirping of birds or the wind in the trees to keep him company on the foot journey. Nothing. He wasn't welcome here and something deep inside of him knew it. Walking into a clearing, he gets only the mildest relief as the wind brushes the long grass against his boots and the woods isn't suffocating him any longer. Until the breath is vacuumed straight out of his lungs when he sees the first sign of life in miles.
This girl must be his age, of all the things he heard he didn't truly expect that. It was hard to tell as she was crouched over one of many graves in the open clearing, the sun making her hair glow like it had hand picked that surface to reflect off of. She can't be the witch everyones afraid of. He can even hear her now, the subtle humming of a tune coming from her lips as she laid out flowers from a basket below the shoddy cross. This was just a girl taking care of a forgotten grave, that was all. Despite his better judgement, he wants to believe that.
"Hello?" He calls, tilting his head slightly as he takes a hesitant step closer across the clearing.
You already knew he was there, of course. You could feel the shift in the air when he entered the space a minute or so prior. You turn your head, standing up straight again and brushing off the front of your dress.
"Hello, there." You reply, offering him a small smile as you pick up the basket from your feet. Admittedly, he was the youngest (and handsomest) of the men you assume had come to kill you, but you're surprised the woods had even let him get this close. The forest can see something in him you could not, clearly. Who are you to deny its very will?
The power in your skin thrums like a second heartbeat in your fingertips and against your ribcage, and you bring a hand up to grasp at the crystal hanging around your neck.
He notices the way your hand tightens around the necklace in your fingers almost anxiously, and it makes his own hand subconsciously itch to raise his rifle as he takes another step closer towards you. He swallows, trying his damndest to not show even a flicker of fear behind his eyes. There is none. She's just a girl, he has to convince himself, but you can see it. Feel it in the air around him even as he stands perfectly steady and strong in front of you.
"Who are you?"
A pretty girl, alone in a forest that no-one else dares tread into. It's a curious sight, and it only serves to make him more on edge. No one in their right mind would be in this forest of their own will.
You tilt your head slightly, watching him as he steps closer but making no attempt to move away yourself.
You answer with your name, soft and sweet as honey as you twist the chain around your neck slightly, eyes locked now on the gun in his hands.
"You're..." You pause for a moment to think, taking a deep breath and closing your eyes. "Billy. That's your name, right?"
His hand tightens on his rifle. The feeling of being somewhere he was never supposed to have entered made beads of sweat roll down the back of his neck as he felt the air thicken all around them. "How do you know that?"
You hesitate on how to answer. You can't very well tell him that you felt it, that you just knew. That you just knew he was here to kill you. You are far from the most social of girls, but you had to save face.
"You look like a Billy." You smile softly. "And it's a common enough name, is it not? A safe guess."
His eyes narrow slightly as his grip on the rifle relaxes. You were hiding something, that much was blatantly clear just from looking at your face, but still, he couldn't imagine someone like you to be the reason the townsfolk kept their doors locked and children well away come sundown.
"I suppose." He finally says, a hand coming up from his rifle to pull his low brimmed hat off his head- a small show of reluctant respect. Though, he still keeps his distance.
Your smile relaxes a little bit just as the subtle sounds of birds chirping and the wind through the leaves surrounds you again in background noise. "It suits you." You tell him, grabbing the basket handle with both hands now.
A hint of surprise flickers across his face at the odd compliment, but it fades just as quickly as it appeared. He lets out a hum of acknowledgement, watching you carefully. If he was being honest, he didn't want to believe that the woman in front of him was a witch. You are far more delicate than that.
"What are you doing out here anyway?"
"Oh, well, I was passing through and saw all these graves. I couldn't help but feel they were lacking some flowers." You explain, lying easily and glancing down at the ones you had already spent time laying lavenders over, five or six of them still looking fresh, without as much grass regrowing over the dirt just yet. "Lavender helps with sleep, you know. It ensures a peaceful rest."
He takes a moment to look at the surrounding graves, his stomach twisting at the sight of how many there were. Ten, at least. He'd seen graveyards before, many times, but something about the lack of proper head stones and the makeshift crosses that were just wooden sticks shoved in the dirt made this feel so much darker.
He frowns as he turns his eyes back to you. "Aren't you afraid of what people say about this place? That it's cursed or something."
"Cursed?" You ask, brow furrowing slightly as you look back at him with a slightly confused smile. "It isn't cursed. It's just a forest."
You knew as much as he seemed to that what you were saying wasn't true, but "cursed" was definitely not the right word to describe it. Though, if the townspeople were saying it was cursed, well, it made more sense as to why people came in here intent on killing you more and more recently.
He can't help but notice the way your smile tightens ever so slightly at the comment, like it was forced to remain on your lips in an attempt to keep up appearances when in reality you wanted to do anything but. You were nervous.
"It don't take a genius to figure out that no one goes in these woods alone for no good reason. A lot of people get lost in here. A lot of people don't come back." He can't help but look back at the headstones of people who most likely went missing, forever lost to the forest. To you. "And I ain't ever seen you in Lincoln."
The two of you stand in the clearing for another moment, neither of you speaking. Neither of you moving as the world around the two of you seems to hold its breath. He feels himself wanting to reach out and touch you, like he was in a trance of sorts. He wants to know what you're hiding, he wants to know who you are. A large part of him already knows, subconsciously wishing it wasn't true.
He tears his eyes away, shaking his head. He wasn't here to make friends, he was here for the reward- not to start sympathizing.
"Oh," You reply quietly, unsure what to say as you force yourself to keep your eyes on him instead of looking over at the fresh graves. "I... I am sorry to hear that."
He studies you for a moment, trying to decipher your carefully worded reply. He can't tell if you actually feel sorry for those who came here and never made it out alive, or if you're just trying to cover up the fact that you may be connected to it.
"It's a shame, really. A lot of good men have gone missing out here, never to be seen again."
He looks like he's about to ask another question before he notices the way your knuckles start to turn white from gripping the basket so hard.
"Your hands are shaking." The observation is formed more like a question, an accusing tone you pick up on easily.
You look down at your hands, eyes widening a bit before you tuck them behind your back with the basket. "Oh, uh... sorry. I can't control it sometimes." You admit sheepishly.
He watches the way you try and hide your hands out of view, and it only serves to make him more suspicious of you. Why would the thought of him seeing your hands shaking make you so anxious?
He doesn't call you out on it, though. "What do you mean can't control it sometimes? Are you nervous?"
"I-I just... I haven't eaten yet today. And it runs in my family, you know. Shaky hands." You explain, trying not to sound as nervous as you are.
"You're lying." He accuses, watching your reaction carefully.
As he speaks the previous chirping of the birds and the wind in the trees and in the grass halts in an instant, like the forest itself was tensing with you. You knew what that meant. Your gaze flickers from his face down to the gun in his hands and back quickly as you take a small step back. "I- I'm not, honestly." You reply with a slightly nervous laugh, trying to lighten the atmosphere again and delay the inevitable. Either he wasn't going to hurt you, or he was the one meant to hurt you. It was a mystery of the universe you were less than eager to discover the outcome of.
His eyes flick over to the surrounding trees as the forest goes quiet, as if it was listening- waiting. He grips the rifle a little tighter when you take a step back, his shoulders tensing slightly.
"You're a very bad liar." He responds, his eyes back on you again. The change in your behaviour doesn't go unnoticed by him, as he slowly starts to lift his rifle to an almost aiming position.
"Don't-" You urge him quickly, your eyes going wide again with more urgency as you hold a hand up to try and stop him. In the same moment he starts to lift his gun, the clouds seem to cover the sun and the beautiful beams of light entering the clearly through the trees is all but gone to gray.
His eyes flick up to the sky as the forest is cast into darkness. He isn't an idiot, he doesn't believe that clouds could move across the sky that quickly- only one other thing could make a place this dark this fast.
"...You did that." He points out with an accusatory tone, his eyes back on you as he adjusts the rifle, aiming the barrel straight at you.
You drop the basket, raising your hands as the still air picks up a somewhat electric buzz to it, the sky darkening further. You didn't know what the forest had done to the other men, but you suspected you were about to find out.
"I-I didn't, I haven't done anything. I swear." You promise him, voice shaking a bit.
He holds the gun steadily as he watches you closely, the way your eyes dart around the clearing as if searching for a way out, the way the air is now thick with something that he can't put his finger on. It's something that makes the hairs on the back of his neck stand straight up, it's something that feels dangerous. He's always been attuned to it.
"Don't bullshit me." He says, cocking the rifle with a click. His eyes watch you like a hawk, the barrel of the gun now pointed directly between your bright, enchanting irises.
"I know why you're here." You stammer out quickly, slowly moving your hands out to your sides toward the trees on either side of you as the leaves start to rustle more urgently in the wind. "I mean... I don't know why but I know you're here to kill me, right?"
He tenses slightly as you begin to move your hands toward the trees, his finger hovering dangerously close to the trigger of his rifle. "You have the townsfolk scared shitless. They put a damn price on your head, and word spreads fast." He tilts his head, continuing to watch you intently as the air becomes more and more electric.
"What?" You ask, to him looking genuinely confused as you watch his finger graze over the trigger. "I-I've never even been into town. I've never done anything to them."
The wind picks up then, blowing wickedly through your hair and ruffling the skirts of your dress.
His body tenses at the feeling of the wind blowing so fiercely, the trees beginning to sway with the force of it. The air is thick, almost electric in a way that can't possibly be natural, and he's beginning to realize just what he's gotten himself into.
"You expect me to believe you?" He responds, the barrel of the gun still aimed at your head. He doesn't know why he hasn't fired already, he knows he's staring down the sights of his hunting rifle directly at the witch he was meant to kill. Who has killed six of Lincoln's bravest men and is currently standing over their graves.
When he moves the gun you wince, and the sound of the trees shifting becomes almost more intentional now as you hold your hands up higher at either side of your body. "I-I'll explain... Just... just put down the gun. Please."
"Why should I do that?" He asks, keeping his aim on you despite the trees that now seem so alive all around you- like they were whispering.
"You just have to trust me!" You call out, now that the wind was getting louder and louder, the sky darker as the trees closed in on the two of you, more specifically, the branches reaching for him.
He clocks it quickly; the branches slowly creeping down, the leaves reaching out towards him. It was like they were going to reach out and grab him at any moment, and the idea is making the hair on his arms stand straight up. It wasn't real, he knew better than that.
"How... how are you doing this?" He asks, his eyes flicking back to you, his rifle still raised.
"I'm not!" You shout, hands pushed out on either side of you as you squint against the wind, expression tense as the air pushes in on you from every direction. "I'm trying to stop it, just drop the gun!"
His eyes dart between you and the trees, noticing the way the branches are slowly inching towards him, and how you seem to almost be trying to push them back, your entire body tensing with some unknown effort.
"And if I drop the gun and you try something, huh?" He yells back, his finger still resting against the cool metal of the lightened trigger.
"You'll end up dead either way!" You shout, squeezing your eyes shut now as a couple small roots start to slowly coil around his ankles. "I don't want to bury you! Just drop it!"
He glances down at the roots slowly making their way up his lower legs, and his eyebrows furrow as he tries to comprehend how in the hell something like this is even possible. Finally, he grunts, clicking the safety back on his rifle and dropping it to the dirt. As soon as the weapon is out of his hands, the atmosphere in the clearing changes.
Even with your eyes shut, you can feel the pressure get taken off of you as soon as he drops the gun.
You drop your hands back down to your sides, winded from the exertion of keeping him alive. It seemed to have moved quick, the forest in its efforts to eliminate the threat, but you have to imagine it was much slower than it was when it set its sights on the other men who set foot in here to kill you.
"Are you okay?" You ask, gasping to catch your breath as the roots remain wrapped loosely around his ankles, incase it needed to grab him again quickly. Though, the skies had mostly cleared and the wind had stopped now.
He stands frozen in place for a moment, his breath heavy in his lungs as adrenaline courses through his veins and his heart hammers violently in his chest. "I.... I'm fine I think..." He responds, looking down at the roots still clinging to his ankles. He's at a loss as to how the hell something like that can even happen, even more so how you could make that happen.
He tries to get his legs free from the roots, but they cling to him stubbornly, even when he pulls with his full weight. He huffs in frustration, dropping himself to sit down on the ground. "Are you gonna get those things to let go of me? I dropped the damn gun."
They tighten a bit as he talks to you like that and you watch as more vines slither across the ground and wrap around his rifle, dragging it away while also doing the same with the revolver on his hip.
"I... I can't." You admit quietly, wringing your hands nervously in front of you. "I told you, I'm not doin' it."
His eyes widen as the roots from the ground pull his revolver off of him, and the vines drag his rifle towards some far off tree line. He realizes promptly he's being toyed with- like a mouse to an un-hungry cat.
"The hell do you mean you can't?" He asks frustratedly, his eyes locked on you as you fidget in place. His heart is still pumping faster than it has in years. "Do it!"
"I-I, well-"
You start, ready to try and explain but you don't get very far before he's quickly hoisted up off the ground by his feet, being hung upside down as bullets and coins rain from of his pockets. He curses loudly over your yelp of surprise as the forest tosses him up into the air, leaving him to hang by his ankles nearly twenty feet above the ground. He can feel the blood quickly rushing to his head, leaving him dizzy as the items in his pockets come tumbling out. As he tries to reach for something, he loses his balance and starts to swing back and forth like a pendulum.
You wince in sympathy as you hesitantly reach out toward him before pulling your hand back quickly. "Sorry, sorry..." You say through clenched teeth, a guilty expression on your face.
"Could you... please... get me down?" He asks in a strained voice, trying his hardest to keep what was left in his stomach where it was.
You frown, taking a small, hesitant step closer. "I... I told you, I'm not doin' it." You repeat, glancing down at the small objects that fell from his pockets.
"Do you... always carry that many bullets?"
This is the first time in a forever that he's felt so defenseless, hanging from his feet in some clearly, definitely cursed forest. Still, he tries to ignore the humiliation he feels at being in this position, trying to keep his cool while also trying to keep in his breakfast.
"I like to be prepared." He responds tightly, his eyes staring at the ground as he continues to swing back and forth slowly above you.
"For what..?" You ask, knowing that now probably isn't the time, but you truly are curious. And it's not like he could hurt you at the moment.
He pauses for a second, thinking it over before shrugging awkwardly in his hung up position. "You never know when danger might come knocking." He explains, his eyes continuing to be locked on the grass below him. This was a damn embarrassing position to be in with an audience, especially a pretty one.
"Yeah I... I guess so..." You agree, unsure what to do as the vines circle him further, searching inside his clothes for more weapons, no doubt.
He lets the forest strip him of his weapons in silence, his pride already bruised for the day anyway. He only lets out a small grunt as a particularly sharp branch pokes him in the stomach, searching for anything else that might be hidden.
"If I ask you something, these things aren't gonna try and strangle me or anything, right?" He calls down, gritting his teeth as his blood continues to rush to his head.
You can't help but giggle a little as you look up at him, his arms dangling below his head and his shirt starting to fall a little bit as well.
"I don't think so." You say, tilting your head slightly and squinting against the sun as it comes back with your quiet laughter, surrounding you in more warmth and lighter air.
He watches you as you laugh, watching the way your eyes crinkle and the way your smile spreads across your face. He's starting to realize that he's pretty unfortunately attracted to you, especially with the way the sunlight hits you the way it always seems to. Taunting him, tempting him- you were a gift from the trees he doesn't think he would do very well to try and pluck away from the stem.
He takes a breath, swallowing hard and lifting his hands to try and swat away the vine digging into the waistband of his trousers to get at the dagger he had there. "Why aren't you scared of me?"
You giggle again, lowering your hand as some of the tree branches grow up and out in the perfect spot to shield only your eyes from the sun.
"No offense, but you're not exactly very fear-inducing at the moment." You reply, watching in slight amusement as he dangles from the roots, spinning slowly without an ounce of control over it.
He watches you shield your eyes with the branches, finding himself a little surprised at how the forest seems to bend to your will. Despite that, a small smile appears on his face, his arms crossing in front of his chest. "What're you talking about? I'm terrifying."
You let out another laugh as he tried to cross his arms over his chest, and then the birds are singing again. The roots start to lower him just a little bit at his lighthearted joke and the way it made me smile, and he finally stopped resisting.
"Yeah, I'm quakin' in my boots."
He rolls his eyes as he lets the plants lower him down, still trying not to look completely humiliated. "Very funny, smartass. Mind telling them to lower me the rest of the way?"
The roots quickly jerk him back up again at the comment and your smile drops as you wince again. His lips form into a tight line when the roots yank him back up again, his head spinning as all his blood shoots straight back to his brain. "I can't tell them what to do, unfortunately." You remind him, head still tilted back at a mildly uncomfortable angle to look up at him.
"They seemed to listen to you just a minute ago to give you some shade." He mutters, feeling like an idiot just hanging there.
"I didn't ask for them to do that." You reply, another small smile tugging at your lips that seems to bring the sun back just a bit.
He watches as your lips pull into a smile again, noticing the way the sun seems to come back just a little every time it does. He's starting to get it, even if he was far from a comprehensive or even realistic understanding.
"Oh, so this stuff is just what- a coincidence now?" He asks, gesturing to a nearby tree that had pushed its branches out to act as your own personal umbrella.
You look up at the branches over your head before back at him. "Okay, well, I never said that." You chuckle, standing on your toes and reaching up to one of the leaves, letting a ladybug crawl onto your fingers.
He watches you stand on your toes and reach up, nymph-like in the most graceful of ways- a sight if he's ever seen one. He can't help but notice how the sun seems to break through the trees a little more now, lighting your face and hair up in a way that's almost angelic. He can feel his mouth starting to go dry as he watched you play with the ladybug. "So... you talk to bugs too?"
"What? No." You giggle, letting the bug crawl up your arm and into your hair. They did really seem to like your hair, something you had always picked up on. You didn't like it much, but they never stayed for long. Just explored for a few moments before continuing on their merry way. "It's... it's more complicated than that. More like a feeling. Not with bugs," You explain quickly. "Just like... the space, if that makes sense."
He lets his eyes linger on the small red bug that was currently making a home in your hair, trying to distract himself from the way a few strands of it seemed to fall against the exposed skin of your collarbone.
"I'll be honest... not really." He responds, a small smile on his face, "I'm not much acquainted with stuff like that."
When you look up at him again, smile widening a bit when you see he's smiling too, the roots start to lower him another foot or so again. "That's alright. I don't really get it either." You shrug softly.
He lets out a small huff of laughter as he's lowered down again, finally feeling like he's starting to get used to hanging upside down. "Well, I guess we're two peas in a pod then, huh?" The sun breaks through the trees even further, casting a golden glow on both of you and the plants surrounding you.
You grin up at him and his flushed red face as you step out of the little umbrella and pick up his hat from the ground, dusting it off before starting to gather all his things and setting them inside like it was a bucket.
"So... what did you say was happening in the town? Livestock are dyin'? People gettin' sick?"
He watches you dust off his hat and collect his belongings as you speak, trying to ignore the flutter in his chest that he felt when he saw you handling his stuff like it was the most casual thing in the world.
"Yeah..." He responds, his voice sounding a little distracted, "No one's been able to figure out why for months now. They tried blaming it on all sorts of things, but nothing's worked so far... that's why I'm here."
"They think it's me." You comment, nodding slightly, picking up the last of his things before standing up again, looking up at him.
He watches you brush down your dress, his eyes lingering longer than they should on the gentle curve of your waist and how your seemingly soft hand smoothed over the surface. With the sun lighting you up like you were an angel sent from heaven itself? Maybe you were just as dangerous as they said. "Well... are you?"
Your brow furrows slightly and you shake your head, a small frown pulling at your lips. "No... I... Like I said I've never even been to the town. Okay, well, maybe once or twice, but I just like to go to the farmer's market every once in a while. I'd never want to hurt anyone."
He watches you look down sadly, noticing how your expression shifts to the sad one he saw when you were tending the graves not too long ago. He feels a pang of guilt in his chest, realizing his comment had been a little thoughtless.
"Hey, I didn't mean..." He starts, pausing for a moment as the vines slowly let him down even lower, "I'm sorry, I shouldn't have assumed."
"It's not your fault." You reply, watching him get lowered a little bit further. "If everyone believes it, I wouldn't expect you not to."
He's finally almost on the ground now, hanging just about eye level with you. At this point, looking at you from the upside down view makes his head spin a little.
"Yeah, well... I guess I still shouldn't have jumped to conclusions." He responds, watching as a soft breeze blows in through the clearing, messing your hair up for a moment and filling the air with the scent of wildflowers.
Your smile grows a bit at that. "Well, thank you. I appreciate that."
Then the roots are suddenly turning him upright again before he has the chance to even consider what to say, lowering him quickly to the grass and thrusting him forward into you. "Whoa..!" He stumbles forward, suddenly upright again, only to be flung forward at full speed straight into you. He grabs your arms by instinct, trying to keep from knocking you both backwards but failing as both of you land on a soft area of moss. The two of you fall back onto the ground, him landing on top of you with a soft thud. He can feel his heart racing in his chest as he looks down at you below him.
You're shocked at first, getting your bearings quickly though as you look up at him and into his blue eyes. It feels like you're looking straight through him at the beautiful and now clear sky above you, and you can't help but giggle when you've realized what happened. Clearly, the forest didn't see him as a threat to you anymore; stripped bare of his weapons and armed only with an apology for making assumptions.
His heart skips a beat the moment you start to laugh, the sound like music to his ears. He'd never heard a prettier sound than that. His heart hammers against his chest as he looks down at your face, the sunlight streaming through the tree tops to perfectly light up your face, giving you a golden glow. He can feel his mouth going dry again, just like it did earlier. He had never found someone so beautiful before, and for a moment, he's scared he's fallen victim to your rumoured enchantments.
He realizes after a moment how long he's been staring, and how close the two of you are. His face was so close he could see the individual lashes framing your eyes, the freckles spread across your skin, the light flush across your cheeks. His eyes fall to your lips, realizing how soft they looked... and how he badly he would like to taste them... Oh, he must be enchanted somehow.
"Are you quite alright?" You giggle, shifting a little bit, unwilling to outright ask him to get off. "I didn't expect them to throw you like that."
The giggling helps snap him out of it, and he suddenly realizes just how embarrassing the situation looks, and how strange it is that the forest would even do that to begin with. He scrambles to get off of you, sitting beside you on the ground.
"Yeah.. yeah... I'm fine...." He responds sheepishly, a flush on his own face as a few stray pieces of moss stick onto his clothes.
His face was still burning, and he couldn't get the sight of you laughing out of his head. The way your eyes had sparkled, how your hair had been splayed out around you against the grass... he shakes his head, trying to dispel the thoughts. He didn't have time to be getting all distracted like this. He glances over to you, noticing how your hair was still messy from the fall, a few blades of grass sticking out of it as a few flowers from the surrounding area are caught in the strands too.
You close your eyes, letting out a soft sigh as he moves off of you, smiling a little to yourself as you feel the sun on your skin. Just for that, it seems to burn a little brighter.
After a few moments you push yourself up so you're sitting as well, your gaze finding him again. "You must really believe me."
He tilts his head slightly, watching you push yourself into a sitting position beside him, your back against the tree and the sun still shining through the branches onto your face. He can feel his heart skip a beat as he stares.
"How do you figure that?" He blinks, trying to snap out of it and trying not to think too hard about how he was starting to feel towards you so quickly.
You nod over to the roots and vines retreating slowly back into the tree line. "They wouldn't have let you down otherwise."
He glances back over to the trees, watching the roots and the vines disappear back into the underbrush. He'd almost forgotten they were there, so distracted by you. A frown tugged at his lips, he should never be this distracted.
"I guess you're right..." He responds.
"You were the first to even get that close." You admit quietly, a thoughtful expression on your face as you glance over at the makeshift crosses and mounds of dirt a few feet away.
He lets out a soft breath of disbelief, his eyes flickering back and forth between you and the little burial site, a wave of guilt washing over him as he realizes just how rude he'd been when he first got there. You had been taking care of something really important to you and he had just thrown accusations at you without even knowing you. And for some reason the forest had even allowed him to get that close... there must be a good reason.
Even in these past few minutes of speaking to you, he'd been able to tell that you weren't dangerous, and hell- you were honestly one of the nicest people he'd ever met, and by far the prettiest. Not that that mattered.
He finally looks away from the crosses and focuses back on your face, noticing the grass and the flowers, and he can't help but think that they look kind of cute on you.
"Who are those for? ...If you don't mind me asking."
"The men who came before you, I assume." You tell him, looking down and picking at the grass. "You mentioned that people were hunting me, and no one came back. And I was wondering why bodies kept turning up here..."
A lump lodges in his throat as you confirm what he already knew deep down inside. He swallows hard, trying not to let the realization that he could've been just as dead as them show on his face, but by the look on yours, he knows you can tell what he's thinking anyway.
"You... didn't kill them?" He asks, trying to sound strong, but not quite keeping the trepidation out of his voice.
Your eyes snap up to his and you quickly shake your head. "No! No, I-" You defend quickly, sitting up a bit straighter and pushing yourself back a bit. "I... Like I said, they just turned up here. I come out here often to check on the older ones and lay flowers, I started coming back and there would just be someone laying there dead. I didn't... I just buried them."
His face softens slightly as he sees the panicked expression on your face, how defensive you were at the accusation, how you quickly scooted away from him as if you would run if you had to. He knew you were telling the truth. He curses himself for letting his imagination create the image of you again, standing over a corpse with your hands covered in blood- that thought alone made him somewhat nauseous.
He lets out a slow, shaky breath, his eyes glued to the little crosses. He could've been there too, no better than carrion for the animals. Of course they were the men who came before him, and he's sure the forest was much less forgiving than just hanging them by their boots and taking their guns.
"Why do you come back here every day?" He finds himself asking.
"I... uh... I don't live far." You explain, glancing back over your shoulder. "And... um... my parents are here. And my brother." You add quietly, fiddling with the crystal around your neck as you look briefly over at some much older graves at the edge of the clearing.
His eyes follow your gaze over to where a group of older, smaller crosses laid on the other side of the clearing, and the realization finally set in that you were here every day to tend the graves of your family.
"You're an orphan...." He says it like a statement instead of a question, not realizing he'd said it out loud until a moment later.
You nod softly in response, leaning back on one of your palms.
"You are too." You reply, tone gentle in the observation.
He freezes, his eyes going wide as you call him out so delicately. The way you say it, it was almost like you had looked inside and had seen him for exactly what he was.
"How'd you know?"
"I can feel it." You tell him, knowing how vague it sounded- but you didn't have any better understanding of it than he did.
He blinks, looking down at the ground as he processes that. An uncomfortable feeling settled in his stomach, knowing that somehow, you'd seen straight through every front he put up in seconds."What do you mean by that?"
You shrug slightly. "Exactly what I said. I can just... feel it. Like you can see or hear things, you know? I just... know. It's hard to explain."
He was silent for a few moments as he nodded slowly, still watching the way your fingers fidgeted with the necklace around your neck. He knew something was up with you, with how the forest seemed to welcome him when it made everyone else run. But he was starting to get the feeling he was only just scratching the surface.
He took a moment, looking up again at the simple crosses and mounds of dirt littered around the clearing, the thought that you'd had to bury your family by yourself and continue tending to their graves for who knows how long was making his heart ache in a way he didn't know was so familiar to him until he was faced with it.
"I'm sorry." He finally speaks after a few stiff moments, his voice sounding a bit softer and more tentative than before. "How old were you?"
"Fourteen." You answer quietly, looking over at him again and offering him a weak smile.
A lump forms in his throat as he takes in your answer. You'd taken care of them at only fourteen years old. The realization settled heavily in his stomach like a rock, how impossibly unfair the world was, to be dealing hands just like his out to others. To sweet girls with soft skin and perfect smiles. "Jesus ...." He mutters quietly, rubbing his hands over his tired eyes.
Picturing you as a reflection of himself, nothing more than a child, all alone in the dark forest trying her best to dig a hole for all her loved ones overturning into a vision of the last he had seen of his family. Year after hurtful year, standing over graves and tossing in handfuls of dirt to send them on their way. It made bile rise in his throat.
He looks over at you silently, and his heart aches again. He knows what it feels like to be all alone. You, in the cold, dark woods for so long with no one to look to and him, in the cold and bright lights of being hunted for his actions. You, sitting next to him on the soft forest floor, were his only chance at leaving that behind. Of looking to the future, burying you and the harm you supposedly caused behind him with his wanted posters left to blow inconsequentially in the wind. He wonders how long it had been since you had seen another face other than his in this little graveyard, and he realizes he couldn't stomach carrying your corpse back into town. If the trees would even let him take your body so far without leaving your cold skin covered in the claw marks of it's efforts to keep you here with it, nestled in the safety of its tree cover.
"No one should have to live like this... all alone." He says quietly, the words leaving his mouth before he even realizes it.
You pull at the grass in front of you mindlessly as you shrug. "I'm not alone. Not really." You say quietly.
You look over at him again, studying him for a few moments. "You're a lot more lonely than I am, I think."
He pauses at that, his heart panging in his chest again at the truthfulness of your statement. He knew you were right, he was lonely. No family, no friends. Hell- before today, he's pretty sure no one's ever looked at him the way you are now. With something like kindness. He lets out a rough sigh as he rubs the back of his neck.
"Guess we've got that in common, then."
"I guess so." You agree quietly, giving him a small, slightly sad smile.
You lean over and pick up his hat from the ground next to where you'd both fallen, checking inside that it still held all his pocket change and bullets before holding it out to him.
He stares at the hat in your hands for a moment before looking back up at you, studying the way you sat beside him with your head tilted to the side, the way your dress clung brunched up around your hips and the way your hair fell over your shoulders in messy waves in the afternoon sunlight.
He swallows hard as he reaches out and takes the hat from you, his fingers brushing yours for a second. "Thank you..."
"Of course." You hum, tucking your knees up to your chest and brushing some of the stray grass and moss off of your calves and arms. "Thanks for not killing me."
He lets out a short laugh, setting the hat back onto his head after shoving its contents back into his pockets. "I'm not going to kill you." He says firmly, his eyes following your fingers as you brush off your skirt.
A small smile twitches at your lips as you look over at him, and you feel that familiar pulsing of power in your fingertips and chest, running through your skin again.
You can feel that he means it, and you felt safe before, but even more so now.
The two of you sit in a comfortable silence for another moment, listening to the sounds of the forest around you, and he feels a sense of peace in this quiet space he'd stumbled into.
There were a hundred different ways he could be spending his afternoon. There were bounties to be collected, townsfolk to cheat at poker, and cards to be dealt and drank to. But instead, he was sitting in the middle of a makeshift graveyard with a lonely, beautiful, witch in the middle of the woods and he'd never been more at peace in his entire life.
"Are you... hungry?" You ask after a minute or so, glancing up at the sky to see whereabouts the sun was. It was likely mid to late afternoon by now, and you still hadn't eaten yet- that hadn't been a lie. You had to get back, but you didn't just want to let him go without making sure he would be able to make it back safely.
He was actually a little surprised that he hadn't thought about it. After all, he'd been walking around in the forest for hours. Now that you mention it, he can feel a hollow emptiness in his gut and a sharp pang of hunger go through his body.
"Yeah.. I could eat." He says, rubbing the back of his neck as he tilts his head up towards sky and squints against the sunlight streaming down.
You push myself up from the soft moss you were sitting on, ignoring the bits of it that clung to your dress and hair for the time being.
"Alright, well, c'mon then." You grin, glancing back at him over your shoulder as you go to collect the basket of drying lavender from the grave you were tending before he interrupted.
His eyes widen a little as he watches you stand up, his eyes lingering a little bit too long on the curve of your hips again. He shakes his head before getting up himself, gathering his things and brushing himself off before following the witch deeper into the forest that would inexplicably kill to keep her.

Hello I was wondering if you could do a billy bonney hc on cuddling with him.
Billy the Kid cuddling hc's
Tumblr media
Note : I'm so obsessed with this man, send help pls
word count: 500
. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .
Billy was all about that elaborate sweet talk, weaving the cutest, most endearing words into your ear, making you blush and playfully roll your eyes—all of which you secretly loved.
His favorite thing was waking up in the morning with you in his arms. As the sun filtered through the window, he'd hold you a little tighter, savoring the warmth and the moment before the challenges of the day began.
Random kisses were his trademark. Neck, forehead, back of the hand, shoulders, cheeks, nose—everywhere. It was his way of expressing affection in simple, unexpected ways.
Being the big spoon was his favorite position. Feeling you all bundled up in his arms, pressed snugly against his chest, gave him a sense of security. It was like he could shield you from everything, even if he knew you were perfectly capable of handling things on your own. But in those moments, it was his way of offering a little extra comfort.
He loved touching you—tracing the lines of your face, combing his hand through your hair—every caress a silent declaration of his affection.
Billy had this natural calm energy about him, and whenever you were with him, especially during cuddle sessions, his calming aura just rubbed off on you. His presence had a magical way of soothing your troubles, whether you were upset, angry, or just had a rough day.
On days when guilt about his mom and brother weighed heavily on Billy, he'd bury his face in your chest, wrapping his arms around your waist. Holding him tightly, you'd assure him that you were there to take away his sadness, and he'd respond with a soft smile, finding comfort in your embrace.
Tangled legs were a must when cuddling with Billy. If not, he'd instantly throw his legs over yours, claiming that it was the only way he ever got truly comfortable.
Serious, deep talks were inevitable during cuddle sessions with Billy. He was an open book with you, trusting you with his life. He never pressured you to discuss anything you weren't comfortable with, and he was equally game for lighthearted talks, cherishing every moment spent in your company.
Even when asleep, Billy stayed connected. If you shifted during the night, there was always an arm searching for that reassuring touch. The man couldn't sleep well without feeling you close.
Your fingers tracing the muscles of his arms or the veins sent shivers of delight through Billy. It was a simple act that soothed him, a tactile reassurance of your connection.
Both of you were obsessed with listening to each other's heartbeats. Falling asleep with one of your heads on the other's chest became a nightly ritual, a symphony of heartbeats lulling you into peaceful slumber. It was a shared intimacy that deepened your bond.
Billy loved it when you played with his hair. The hums of appreciation and the subtle smiles were proof that he cherished the simple act of you running your fingers through his curls.

A request throught for billy the kid.
He goes to a bar where a barmaid owns and works there, and they sleep together, and when he comes back, she has a little boy running around that looks a whole lot like him....
girl from the north country — billy bonney
Tumblr media
request
i got this ask and my brain immediately went 'bob dylan rendition of girl from north country' because this trope has that song written all over it.
tw— allusions to the deed, hidden baby trope, use of, 'momma' as a pet name.

less than three years ago, you made the grave decision to bed an outlaw. he was sweet and soft with you, sweet talking his way into your britches. it had been a fun night, but despite your delighted evening, a sinking feeling took hold of you the minute he caught your eye.
his name was billy. or at least, he went by billy. he was a mess of dark brown hair, kind blue eyes, and honest nature. it felt like fate when you saw him. he had been sitting at the bar, quiet and lonesome. you found it easy to talk to him.
he had given you a bright smile, engaging you in casual conversation as the night turned to morning. slipping out with you when you closed down the bar, only to follow you up the road to your small homestead.
you had never seen him before, but after he left town, you soon learned exactly who he was. wanted posters with his likeness followed his trail, leaving you tight-lipped about the entire situation.
it was about six months after his visit that your lips finally began to move, coming up with fruitless excuses for the townspeople. by then, your stomach had already started to round, bulging into something plain and inescapable. at first, you were terrified and even considered fleeing to another town and opting to try and pass as a widow. even now, despite yourself, the thought lingers in the back of your mind.
you've been lucky though, the town is nice enough to not ask you questions. just watchful stares and a few upturned noses. you kept your job at the gin mill, working through the night while your married friend watched the baby.
you've found yourself a quiet life—a growing meadow of life hidden in the hellish and desolate west.
with a sigh, you turn your attention back to the clothesline, grabbing at the last of the dry garments and flinging them in your basket. there's a storm brewing close in the distance, and a loud crack of thunder has the small child at your feet fretting.
you pick up your fussy toddler, his pink lips curled into a frown, "c'mon bubba, s'just a little storm."
you glance at the darkening sky, feeling the first droplets of rain on your skin. the wind picks up, causing the clothesline to sway with a creak. cradling your son in your arms, you hurry inside, leaving the clothes in your haste of trying to beat the approaching storm.
inside the cozy warmth of your small homestead, you try to soothe the worried toddler in your arms. the distant rumble of thunder grows louder, and you decide it's best to stay cooped up, work be damned. as you settle into a rocking chair, softly humming a lullaby to the sweet boy in your arms, the rain begins to patter against the window.
the hours pass slowly, the storm raging outside, when a sudden knock on the door startles you. with caution, you approach and peer through the small window and see a tall figure drenched in rain, barely recognizable underneath his sopping hat.
you open the door, and the man looks up. his eyes are kind, and eerily familiar. looking like a drowned man, standing at your door, is billy. he looks apologetic and somewhat sheepish. rainwater drips from the brim of his hat as he mumbles, "m'sorry for showing up like this, i wasn't even sure if you were still here."
you eye him cautiously, memories of your night shared with him resurfacing, but the storm outside softens your resolve, "what brings you here, billy?" you inquire, staring up at the rain-soaked outlaw before you, taking in his genuine expression.
his voice trembles as he confesses that he never meant to stay away for so long— but life on the run has its cruel complications. now, drenched and shivering in the midst of a raging storm, he pleads for refuge in your home, desperation etched onto every word as he begs for forgiveness and a safe haven from his pursuers.
hesitating for a moment, you look back at your toddler playing on the floor. with a sigh, you relent, "alright, billy, you can come in, but just until the storm passes."
as he steps inside, you notice the surprise in his eyes when he sees the boy. he's donned in a darling little linen onesie, your own hands had worked tirelessly over the garment. his bright eyes look between you and billy, the hue of your own eyes evident and the blue of billy's scattered throughout. a perfect blend.
a silence hangs in the air as realization slowly dawns on him. his gaze shifts between you and your little one, and in that moment, he connects the dots.
his voice softens, "is he... is he mine?"
the question sends a shiver down your spine and all of your carefully constructed defenses slowly crumble around you. there's no denying it now, the truth of what had happened was laid bare for both of you to see, innocent face staring up at the both of you. you stand in place, your feet rooted to the ground. you can feel your heart pounding in your chest as you realize the confession you're about to make. taking a deep breath, you finally relent.
a nod is all you can manage, the weight of the unspoken truth lingering in the room. billy takes a step closer to the little boy and you start. but his intentions are gentle as he reaches out to touch the top of his child's head, "i never knew." he murmurs, a mix of regret and wonder in his eyes.
you watch as billy kneels down to meet your son at eye level. the child looks up at him with innocent curiosity, and you can't help but feel a twinge of anger mixed in with the guilt that had been festering inside of you for so long. you had carried the weight of this secret for years, the fear of the townsfolk finding out and ostracizing you and your child from the community. but looking down at billy's face, you know that it's time to come clean.
"he's almost three now, billy," you say softly, the regret in your own voice almost palpable, "i didn't know how to find you...i didn't even know your name back then."
billy's expression softens as he turns to look at you, his eyes full of sorrow, "i understand," he says, his voice gentle. "m'sorry i wasn't there for you. for both o'you."
you nod, knowing his words are earnest, "you couldn't have known." you say quietly.
billy stands up and walks towards you, his arms open. his eyes are sad, but they hold a fierce longing that you can feel despite any attempt to deny it. his body radiates with a warmth that you can't help but feel drawn to, despite all of the fear and regret that fills your heart. you close your eyes, allowing yourself to be enveloped by his embrace, feeling his arms wrap around your body and pull you close.
"i'm sorry," he whispers into your ear. "god, m'so sorry for everything."
you nod, unable to find your voice. the storm outside rages on, but inside, the atmosphere is one of acceptance and forgiveness. you have both been through so much, but now, with the truth out in the open, it feels like a weight has been lifted from your shoulders. you look up into billy's eyes, feeling a sense of peace wash over you.
"i forgave you a long time ago," you say, your voice barely above a whisper, "figure i can't keep hiding this little one away from his father. not now, wouldn't be right."
billy nods, his eyes now filled with hope, "i want to be a part of his life, if you'll let me," he says, his voice filled with a conviction that sends shivers down your spine.
you nod, feeling tears prick at the corners of your eyes, "of course," you say, your voice filled with a mixture of relief and sadness. "he deserves to have his daddy."
billy smiles, his eyes crinkling at the corners, cupping your cheeks, "what about his momma? seems like she's been gettin' on fine without a man around."
you hum, trying to ignore how easy your heart skips for him, "i reckon she'll make him grovel 'fore she'll be his sweetheart again."
your outlaw lets out a soft chuckle, "then i best get to grovelin', momma."

Tumblr media
You hated it when your father threw parties at the ranch. They always got too crowded, too loud, and way too dangerous. You see, cowboys and alcohol weren't always the best mix. Groping hands and lustful stares always came along with it. Your father always wanted you to be present at his little gatherings, to socialize or whatnot.
You dreaded small talk with the other girls present and weren’t interested in any of the drunken cowboys that always made fools of themselves trying to woo you. You stood there, arms crossed, pressed against the wall. Observing. The air was thick with smoke, the smell filling your lungs causing your nose to scrunch slightly.
“How’s it goin’ lil lady?” A voice sounded from your right, causing you to wince. You could practically smell the whiskey of the man’s breath without even turning to face him. Deciding to be polite you directed your attention to the man. It was a blonde cowboy. He was about 5’8”, not insanely tall but not short either. He had an unsettling feeling about him that made you feel immediately uncomfortable.
You gave him a strained smile. “It’s going well.”
The cowboy gave you a drunken smile, leaning his shoulder against the wall limply. “I like yer dress, lace is my favorite. Why… ain't you just a doll.”
You kept your smile, your cheeks hurting with tension at the forced action. “Thank you.” You replied, giving a curt nod.
The man drew closer, making your chest pump with anxiety. You always hated when men thought they could invade your space just because you were a woman. You took a slight step back causing the man to let out a low chuckle.
“You nervous doll? I ain’t gonna hurt ya. You know if you’d follow me I know a nice place we can… well you know….” He slurred, drawing one of his hands up to touch one of the strands of hair cascading over your shoulders. You jolted back, immediately slamming into someone.
Firm hands placed themselves on your shoulders as you ran into whoever it was. You turned your head, looking up quickly. “I’m sor-“
Your eyes connected with the bluest eyes you'd ever seen. You hadn’t thought the phrase “taking your breath away” was true until this moment. You couldn’t breathe. The man before you was gorgeous. Soft brown curls peaked out from under his hat that he wore, framing the sharp angles of his face nicely. The light freckles on his face indicating he’d been in the sun.
“You ok?” He said in a low voice, snapping you out of your trance. You glanced at the blonde cowboy who was still staring at you as if you were a piece of meat. The brown haired cowboy cocked an eyebrow, noticing your discomfort and pleading eyes. He cleared his throat and stared at the blonde man.
“Were you botherin’ my lady?” He asked accusingly towards the man, stepping slightly in front of you. God he was tall.. he seemed to tower over you. The blonde cowboy’s face immediately paled.
“N-no I wa-“ He stuttered.
“No? Then get the fuck out of here.” The brown haired cowboy snapped.
The blonde cowboy gave an incoherent mumble before storming away. You released the breath you were holding in and looked up at the gorgeous man who had just helped you.
“Thank you. I hate talking to men like that.” You sighed. The man laughed. (which made you realize how perfect his lips were as well)
“Men like that?” He chuckled.
You nodded. “Always too drunk and grabby all the time. No respect for anyone’s space.” You made a face of disgust that made the man before you flash another lopsided grin.
“Well.. anytime.” He gave you a smile “What’s your name?” The man asked, leaning up against the wall and crossing his arms. He stepped back, respectfully giving you room to talk. The action alone made your heart thump as your eyes trailed up his body. Even through his shirt you could tell he had some muscle to him.
“Oh- Uhm.. Y/n. Y/n Charles.” You nodded.
The man’s eyes widened. “Oh so this is your ranch? Your father’s always throwin’ parties like this huh?”
You gave him a weak smile. “Yep.. fun right?” You said sarcastically.
He let out another chuckle before looking at you again.
“Billy.” He said lowly, slightly bowing his head.
You tilted your head. Where had you heard that name before? You tried to jog your memory but it was no use. Maybe you had heard your father talking about him, or maybe some girls down at the salon.
“Billy..” You repeated, smiling up at him. “I like it.”
Billy chuckled. “Glad you like it.”
It was weird talking with Billy. You felt a bubble of desire in your stomach that you had never felt when talking to any other man. Now all of a sudden you were imagining his hands on your body, his lips on yours. You thought of his hair, wondering how it would feel if you’d drag your fingers through it.
You stared up at him, and he stared back. It wasn’t awkward, no, it was almost as if you both had an understanding. An understanding of mutual attraction. Billy wet his lips.
He leaned a bit closer, his scent filling your nose. “I know we just met but… your intrestin’ to me.” He said in a low voice.
A small smile pulled at your mouth. “I could say the same…”
Billy leaned in even closer, breath brushing the outside of your ear gently as he spoke. “We could go to your room.. get to know each other better?” His voice was rough, full of unsaid desires that made your heart palpate.
“Are you implying something a lady should be ashamed to talk about?” You teased in a whisper. Billy let out a low chuckle.
“Is that where your mind is at?” He taunted, meeting your gaze. You reached up your fingers and dragged them against the brim of his hat.
“Would it be bad if it was?” You smiled, cocking your head slightly. Billy smirked. He liked how playful you were being.
Billy’s hand found yours and he squeezed it gently, pulling you closer to him. “No… It wouldn’t.” He murmured, making your breath quicken.
You made a little tsk sound and pulled away from him. “You think I’m that easy?” You chuckled. “Nice try cowboy.” You cooed, tapping the tip of his nose playfully. Billy’s eyes widened briefly before his mouth pulled into a smirk.
“Your decision darlin’… See ya, gorgeous.” He tipped his hat then turned to walk away. You watched as he sauntered back into the crowds of people. You bit your lip as your mind replayed the interaction you just had with him. He had called you gorgeous. You couldn’t deny the fact that you found him insanely attractive- perfect even. Why were you playing hard to get? You weren’t sure why.
You continued to roam about the party, talking mindlessly with the ladies there. You tried your hardest to stay engaged in the conversations but your thoughts were still on Billy. Would it be so bad to fool around with him? Even if it was just for tonight? You couldn’t ignore the pulsing feeling in your core when you thought about it. Fuck it.
You excused yourself from whatever and whoever you were talking about quickly and started to glance around for Billy. It was still insanely crowded in the house, causing you to have to constantly say “excuse me” just to get anywhere. You searched the living room for his blue eyes but he wasn’t there. You felt a pang of fear that he had just decided to leave.
Gracefully, you slipped out of the living room and started to make your way down one of the dark hallways of your home. It was empty. The loud clamoring of the party was still heard as you walked, heels clicking on the creaking floorboards.
The bathroom door was also in this hall. You heard it open and turned. There he was.
“Billy-“ You said breathlessly. Billy’s mouth quirked up into a smirk.
“Y/n. Nice to see you again.” He joked.
You walked closer to him, tilting your head up to make eye contact. “Do you want to….”
“Yes.” He replied roughly, cutting you off before you could even finish. He grabbed your hand and led you down the hall and up the stairs, causing you to let out a little chuckle.
Once reaching the top of the stairs, you led the way, guiding him to your bedroom door. You opened it quickly. Billy was the first to step inside, pulling you in after him and immediately shutting the door. He looked around for a moment, taking note of what kind of girl you were. Your bed was made, the room tidy, and flower patterns on almost anything.
“Like it?” You teased, meeting his piercing gaze. He chuckled.
“Darlin’ do you have the key for the lock?”
You nodded quickly, striding over to your beside table to dig for the key in one of the drawers. Once found, you hurriedly locked the door with a simple click.
Upon hearing the sound Billy instantly grabbed your hips and pushed you up against the door. You dropped the key onto the ground, not caring where it ended up. You just wanted Billy right now.
You felt Billy’s bulge pressed into you, making you gasp. By no means were you a virgin- but you weren’t used to this.
“Fuck doll…” Billy rasped. “I don’t know how respectable I can be to you right now..” His grip on your hips tightened. Billy was restraining himself. Even though all he wanted to do right now was to tear off every piece of lacy cloth you were wearing he was holding himself back. You snaked your hands up to place themselves on his shoulders.
“Don’t hold back- I’m all yours tonight.” Before you could even get the last word out, his lips were on yours. The reassurance was helpful, making Billy feel as if you really wanted this. Which you did. Desperately.
Billy’s lips worked against yours with a roughness you’d never known you’d liked. One of his hands wrapped around your neck, pulling you flush against his lips even more. He tasted sweet, the softness of his mouth making you almost melt into him.
He still had his hat on- which you didn’t mind, you liked it. You soon felt his fingers leave your hips and neck and trail down and move to your back, where the laces of your corset were. His hands moved quickly, untying it with ease. You lifted your arms up and broke the kiss as he pulled it off of you and threw it to the side.
His hands then pulled at your dress as you took his lips back onto yours, unbuttoning and buttons needed and letting it slip off your shoulders and onto the floor. He parted from your lips to look down at the lacy cami and cloth shorts you were left in.
“Darlin’ you're just too much.” He groaned, his hands cupping your ass.
You smirked up at him and moved your hand to slide down one of his suspenders. “Let me see you.”
He complied instantly and started to tear off his clothes. When he lifted his shirt you could help but gasp. He was toned, muscled, scarred, perfect. He threw his shirt to the side and you reached a hand to trace a faint scar on his abdomen.
“Knife fight.” He said softly as he unzipped his pants, loving how curious you were. Your hands felt soft on his body, so gentle.
Your eyes flicked up to his. “You're perfect.” Billy chuckled at this, pulling your body closer to his as his pants fell to the ground.
“You're one to talk. I’ve ain’t never seen anyone as gorgeous as ya..” He reached up to take off his hat, but before he could throw it aside you grabbed it.
“Darlin what-?”
“Shh….” You coaxed, grabbing his hand and leading him to the bed. You pushed him gently to sit, and he immediately complied, liking this side of you. You put on the hat with a giggle and shimmied out of your cotton shorts. Billy’s cock twitched in his underwear at the sight. It felt like you were torturing him, depriving him of the touch he starved for.
Next you slid off your cami, letting your breasts sit nicely on your figure, throwing that to the side as well. You stepped forward and bent down slightly to place a palm on Billy’s bulge. He immediately let out a pained moan. “Your tourturin’ me doll.”
You giggled as you ran your other hand down his shoulder. “I could go even slower.” You teased.
Then unexpectedly Billy grabbed your hips and pulled you onto him, causing your let out a yelp of surprise. Billy immediately places his lips on one of your nipples, kissing and swirling his tongue around the area.
“No fair.” You gasped. His hands ran all over your body, as well as his lips.
Billy let out a chuckle, the voice sending a vibrating feeling through your body. “Another second and I would’ve gone crazy darlin’.”
You melted under his touch, his calloused fingertips adding to the realness of his hands. You pulled your fingers through his hair as he kissed your collarbones.
“I need more.” You whined.
Billy smirked. “And to think you had brushed me off the first time I offered this to you down stairs…..”
“Please-“ You begged again. Billy cupped your ass in response to lift you off of his lap so he could yank down the only fabric of his boxers separating him from your cunt.
You looked down at his cock as you straddled him. It was big, you’d never seen one this big before. You bit your lip, Billy squeezed your hips and kissed your jaw.
“Ready darlin’…” He mumbled against your skin. You nodded and he lifted you up, positioning your body over his throbbing cock. You sunk down letting out a strained moan as he filled you up. You were now sitting entirely on him, stretching out the walls of your soaked cunt.
“Take me s’good.” Billy rasped as you started to grind your hips. One of your hands flew up to hold Billy’s hat that still was placed snug on your head. You were so wet he slid right in, no issue. You slowly began to move up and down with Billy assisting you by lifting your hips.
You tilted your head back, squeezing your eyes shut, still keeping the hat on your head. Breathy moans escaped your lips as you moved. Billy picked up the pace, slamming you harder down onto his cock rhythmically.
“Fuck-“ You whimpered as he let out a groan.
“Ride me so good..” He mumbled. His own head was limp as he moved you faster and faster on his cock. Right now you were perfect. So tight. Molded perfectly for him. Your free hand dug into his shoulder. The nail marks left on him would be deep by the end of this.
You rode him harder as tears prickled in your eyes. Every time he slammed into you your body vibrates with pleasure. The tip of his cock hitting your g-spot with precision.
Billy took one of his hands off your hips and moved it to start massaging circles on your clit, adding to the pleasure. You paused your moment for a moment, not expecting the added stimulation. You head slumped onto Billy’s shoulder, body shaking.
You felt Billy’s mouth brush against your ear. "C' mon darlin’.. I’m almost there… You're doing so well.” He praised.
You gave a weak nod and started to move again, a throaty moan escaping Billy’s lips. With his fingers on your clit and his cock slamming your walls you were in heaven.
“Almost there doll.” He groaned again, kissing your neck as you moved on him, your stamina decreasing by the second. You felt the knot in your stomach tighten, a sign that you were getting closer.
“Billy-“ You breathed, arching your back, holding his hat still firm on your head.
“I know darlin’, I know..” He murmured as he closed his eyes and let his mouth fall open. You watched as he came, filling your already overstimulated cunt with his cum. Your orgasm hit you as well, sending your body into a fit of shakiness.
You became still, his cock still throbbing with pleasure as you clung to him, your bodies slick with sweat. Billy brushed some of your hair from your forehead and kissed it.
“I like how you kept my hat on.” Billy smirked, looking down at you. “Suits ya.”
You let out a breathless chuckle. “Thank you.”
You tilted your head up to kiss his soft lips. He seemed so tender now, so gentle.
Finally after a while of kissing you slid off of him, cum dripping down your thighs.
“When can I see you again Y/n?” He drawled, holding your waist so you were still close to him.
“Anytime you want to get your hat back.” You teased.
Billy’s eyebrows raised with amusement. “You keepin’ it?”
You kissed his nose. “It’s mine now.”

౨ৎ꣑ৎbilly with a shy girl౨ৎ꣑ৎ fem reader x billy the kid thank you @lucygxybaird and @babydollemsy for inspiring me <3 <3
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Soft and sweet, you were Billy's opposite in nearly every way.
He knew from the second he saw you in town for the first time, in a light dress with a bow in your hair, that he was lost to all that was you. Hurtling down the path with no hope of return. But he didn't want to.
The first time he'd spoken to you, sidling up as you looked at ribbons in the market, you'd been quiet, smiling up at him but not saying more than a few words. It'd taken weeks for you to speak more than a sentence to him. You were with your brother usually, and he'd coax a little more out of you, when you weren't clinging to his arm.
Eventually, you started talking to Billy on your own, coming up to him with your hands clasped in front of you, fidgeting with your fingers. He'd doffed his hat, leaning against the post he was standing by and slouching a little so he could meet your eyes, and you'd lit up when he did. And so it began.
He asked you to go on a ride with him, to which you'd eagerly responded. When he showed up at your house with fresh wildflowers in hand, you'd been delighted, standing on tiptoes to plant a kiss on his cheek. A blush bloomed on his cheeks, and he hadn't been able to get rid of his grin for the rest of the day.
While some disdained you for your shyness, Billy found it adorable. He was proud to walk around with you on his arm, the prettiest girl in town in his opinion. In his short time on earth, Billy had been many a place, seen all sorts of things, but you were by far the most special. His elbow was always ready to bend so you could slip your soft hand into the crook, body open in case you needed his chest for comfort.
"Sweetheart," he'd coo, tucking a wayward strand of hair behind your ear, smiling as you leaned into his palm. "I've gotta talk to that man over there. You wanna come with me or stay here?" Most often you would cling to his arm, opting to stand quietly beside him, and others he'd give you a sugar cube and watch you walk over to his horse, petting his mane and speaking softly.
He brought you to the saloon sometimes, because you liked going places with him. Arriving with you tucked under his arm, looking like the very picture of perfection, he was always on guard. Billy wouldn't dare leave you alone in a place like this, and lucky for him, you were much less than willing to speak to any strangers.
Sometimes when you were out and about with him and he was chatting with someone who was a stranger to you, he'd feel a tug on one of his suspenders. The gesture always made him smile, and he'd bend down, securing his arm around your waist if it wasn't already there, letting you whisper what you wanted to say.
Billy was exceedingly careful with you, always making sure you were safe and comfortable. Protecting you was the most important thing in the world to him, and that included your innocence.
You loved kissing him, wrapping your arms around his neck and standing on your toes to reach him. He'd lift you by the waist and set you on the toes of his boots, allowing himself an eye crinkling smile when you giggled and nudged your nose against his. He would start gently, letting you tell him how much you wanted and returning it in full.
This was the position he was in right now, you having pulled him up into your pretty bedroom and sat him down on the mattress. Billy had leaned back on his hands, legs spread lazily, watching as you climbed onto his lap. Your skirt bunched between your stomachs, and he steadied you with a hand at your back, obliging you when you leaned in for a kiss.
His hand found your cheek, holding you still, savoring the feel of your mouth on his. Easing you into it, Billy settled his hand at the back of your head, rubbing his thumb over your hair. You stopped after a moment, pausing to take a breath. Billy thumbed the hint of redness on your cheeks and chin, squinting in concern. "Is that hurtin', honey?"
"Hmm?" you looked up at him, blinking and nuzzling against his hand.
"Think my stubble got you, sweetheart," he muttered, still rubbing your cheek as if he were trying to soothe it away. "'m sorry."
"It's okay," you said softly, reaching up to touch it. "Doesn't hurt."
"No?" Billy searched your eyes, trying to determine if you were downplaying it. "You sure?" Frowning, he ran a hand over his chin. "I could use a shave anyways. Gotta keep cleaned up for my girl."
"You don't have to shave if you don't want to," you mumbled, avoiding his eyes.
Billy's heart melted at the sight of you, and he brought your head to his chest, smoothing your hair. "No," he soothed. "Gotta keep smooth so I don't scratch up my sweet girl's face." The tiny smile that appeared on your face made his heart soar.
You were timid as could be, a closed-up flower, but he coaxed you into a bloom under his fingers. In some ways he was grateful for your shyness. This was special, how he knew you trusted him. He was privileged to hold you, to kiss you and show you he loved you.
And as you looked up at him through your lashes, leaning in to kiss him again without minding the scratch at his cheeks, he was reminded of it over and over. Sugar all tied up with a bow, neatly packaged in his arms.

Ever since the day Billy had asked you to be his, he had thought the constant bugging of men around you would come to an end. But it seemed to be that the Bonney man only noticed those men’s stares towards you even more.
He sat at the bar you currently worked as he watched yet another man eye you from the corner of the room. It made his blood boil, his knuckles turning white from the harsh grip on his shot glass.
“Baby, leave the glass alone.” You teased with that charming smile that made him weak in the knees. “It ain’t done nun’ to ya,”
He put it down, your soft southern accent making his anger simmer down in a instant. “Sorry, honey.”
“What’s got you starin’ daggers over there?” You re-poured his now empty glass with whiskey.
“Them men starin’ at you.” His eyes darkened as he looked at you through his brows, his fingertips circling the rim of the shot glass.
Your tongue darted out across your bottom lip at his admission, his words making a deep want towards your outlaw settle in your gut knowing how protective he was of you.
“They can look all they want, darlin’.” You tried to ease his anger with a gentle voice. “You’re the only one that I’d ever let touch me—you know that.”
“It’s not you I don’t trust.” He murmurs as he leans back, his eyes boring into yours.
“Hey, foxy..” One of the men he was talking about now stood in front of you, slurring his words. “You’re mighty fine, mind if we.. talk somewhere privately?” He winked, making you want to throw up. “I’d love to see how you look under them fine clothes of yours,”
You looked him up and down in disgust. “I’m alright, sir. Got someone else in mind for tonight,” You looked at Billy from the corner of your eye, your cowboy smirking up at you. You sighed as you went to grab the drunken man’s glass to refill—he was still a customer after all.
His grueling grip caught your wrist before you could even grab the glass—almost pulling you over the bar.
“You little bitch, can’t take a real man, huh?” He spat as you let out a yelp, trying to get out of his grasp.
“Back the fuck off.” Billy’s menacing figure appeared from beside the man, throwing the man back by his shoulder, causing him to fall on his ass.
He groaned, but was back on his feet within seconds. “The fuck it mean to you, huh? I wan’ her, so she’s mine.”
The second the man finished his sentence, Billy’s fast fist made contact with his jaw hard, the man being back to his spot on the floor. “Don’t you ever fuckin’ say those words about her.” He hissed, leaning down to place more punches to the man’s bloodied face. You watched in a mixture of horror and admiration—mostly admiration.
The man below him only let out a cackle in return. “Oh, I see. She’s your whore,” He spat blood into Billy’s face, and you swore the whole room stopped at his words.
Billy’s cocked back arm stopped at his words, and within seconds his pistol was pointed at the man’s forehead. “What did you just say?” He yelled. “I’ll fuckin’ kill you—”
You grabbed his forearm, pulling him back up. “Billy, please—” He turned to you, panting as you tried to calm that wild look in his eye. “That piece of shit ain’t worth it, c’mon, baby.” Your eyes flickered between his, and after a moment, he sighed before relenting and putting the gun away.
“Yeah, gotta get your bitch to sort out your favors—” The man continued to talk shit, but Billy cut him off with a swift kick to the ribs.
“Shut the fuck up.” Billy rasped out, looking down upon the man.
“C’mon,” You pulled his hand, taking him to the room in the back. You were glad it was around last call—the bar being mainly empty. You sat him down on some old crates before you turned to grab the spare med-kit you had hidden back there months prior.
Once you had everything ready, you held your hand out, signaling Billy to hand you his cut and bruised knuckles. He did, knowing better than to argue with you on the matter.
Your heart sank in your chest when you first saw them. “Billy, you’ve gotta stop gettin’ into fights over me.” You whispered, your eyes not leaving his hand.
His other hand reached out to angle your jaw so your eyes would met his. “Darlin’, I’m never gon’ stop fightin’ for you. You know that.” He shook his head with a smile. “He ain’t even get a lick in—I’m fine.”
“I know you can handle yourself.” You mutter in reply. “I just don’t like seein’ you hurt. Regardless of how bad—I don’t like it. Nor do I like watchin’ you put yourself in danger for me.” You retort with a pointed look.
His gaze lowered. “Now, lady, let’s not pretend you haven’t done the same. I’ve witnessed some pretty crazy cat fights after hours at the boardin’ house,” He teased, his hand now cupping your jaw.
You sighed, trying to fight back the smile that threatened to break free. “Jus’ please, be careful.”
“Always am.” He leaned forward to kiss the frown off your face, his hands sliding down your body in order to squeeze your hips.
Your arms wrapped around his neck, drawing him closer to your body as you smiled against his lips.
He pulled back, leaning his forehead onto yours. You both sat there for a couple of moments, enjoying the comfortable silence.
You placed one last kiss to his plump lips. “Alright, let me see that hand of yours.” You asked, and when he placed it into yours, you got to work. You disinfected and bandaged it to ensure it wouldn’t get an infection. “That should do it,” You whispered as you finished tying the cloth, leaning down to press a kiss to his knuckles. “Thank you for defendin’ me, honey.”
You swore that even in the darkness of the room you were currently in that you could see his cheeks turn a light shade of pink. “I’m always gon’ defend you, baby.” He whispered, pulling you up by your hand to place you in his lap, his arms slithering around you as he placed a kiss to your cheek. He went quiet for a moment before he turned to grab something. You looked at him questionably when you saw that glint in his eye.
He smirked as he placed his signature hat onto your head. “There.” He admired his work as he fixed your hair, styling it to compliment the hat. “That should tell all those fuckers that you’re mine.”
Your teeth sunk into his bottom lip at his words as your eyes flickered between his. “I wouldn’t have it any other way,” You whispered, the tip of his hat hitting his head as you leaned in to reconnect your lips again.
He didn’t mind—he thought it looked better on you anyways.

rewatching Billy the kid because I’m sick and
I need Billy to slowly fuck me as he pins my hands above my head and makes intense eye contact
xoxo- 🦢
i need to rewatch some of it tomorrow :) y'all idk where this came from but here you go
mdni; fem!reader
"Darlin' I know you want to, just-"
A soft moan escapes your lips, cutting Billy off from his words, his hand pressing harder against your wrists that he's pinned above your head.
His hips thrust slowly into you, your legs hiked around his waist to keep him pressed close, his forehead almost resting on yours as he fucks you. Billy was showing a lot of restraint, taking his time like he was getting to know your body, even though he has lots of knowledge of you already.
"Billy please, I won't tug too hard," you whisper to him, your lips brushing his and he shakes his head.
"Honey, I swear to god, 'f I let you pull my hair, I'll come so quick," he rasps out and you feel his hand tighten even more to hold your hands away. You whine at him, but he's prepared for it.
"Won't work, honey, won't work, c'mere," he speaks under his breath, giving your lips the smallest kiss, nudging his nose on yours and giving you a second before pressing his lips fully on yours, humming into the kiss.
His lips are rough on your own, but somehow, Billy is able to make them feel as if they're the softest thing imaginable. He nips at your bottom lip as he pulls away and you bite back a smile, his thrusts remaining at their slow, almost agonizing pace, but it didn't matter. You still felt all of him, every part of him was encompassing you.
"Better?" He nudges his nose on yours again, resting his forehead to yours, his eyes meeting yours. Billy smiles when you nod and let yourself smile.
"You'll let me do it later?" Billy wants to roll his eyes, seeing as you haven't dropped it, but he nods, snapping his hips a little faster all of a sudden, just to make you gasp and sqieeze your legs around him tighter. You can’t help it, his hair is just so fun to play and pull at, especially when he makes the prettiest noises imaginable when you do it.
"'f course I will," he mumbles, watching your mouth part as returns his gentle pace, a soft sigh leaving his lips. Your eyes were so pretty to him, so full of every emotion he makes you feel and he wants to keep looking into them so he can feel it back. He needs to, he needs to feel all of the love, adoration, and desire you're feeling for him right now.
"Can I let go of your hands? Will you be a good girl?" You nod and he lets go of them, his hands moving to hold your hips instead. Part of you wants to immediately bury your hands in his hair and pull at the strands and the other part of you will settle with holding his shoulders. Fuck it.
Before he can react, you tangle your hands into his hair and pull on it, eliciting a deep groan from Billy as his head drops to your shoulder.
"You...fucker," he mumbles against the skin of your neck, biting at it, but he can't do it for long as he lets out a quiet moan, trying to hide it by gritting his teeth.
"You love me," you whisper right to his ear, already feeling the effect you're having on him as his thrusts quicken, his cock filling you out in the most perfect way.
Billy nods at your words, his fingers digging into your hips. "Say it, Billy," your voice still hushed, albeit shakier as his hand moves to rub your clit, his hand warm against your already hot skin.
"I love you," he says, grunting out in his lower register, "oh 'm gonna come, honey." Your fingers tug on his hair again in response, and Billy thrusts one, two, three more times before he's spilling into you, "c'mon honey, come right here with me, please," he almost whines out against your neck before he lifts his head to see your face as the rush of his orgasm overtakes you as well, using your grip on his hair to compose yourself.
"You love me?" He asks, nosing at your cheek while your brain is still hazy. You turn your head slightly to catch his lips, the kiss is wet and sloppy as your tongue meets his and you mutter into it, "I love you."
let's chat about billy, here :)
