The rain doesn't fall the way it used to.

Nothing feels the way it should anymore..

I pleaded for the return of my carousel back to normal

The song doesn't sound the way it used to..

The notes are distorted..hollow..a disturbing mockery of the music box I used to love..

I begged for her to soften the rain

The rain doesn't fall the way it used to..

It shrieks and pounds against the glass of my window..

It demands something of me now..but I've nothing left to give..

I regretted almost instantly taking it for granted

I thought that I was at my lowest.

I assumed I was already at the bottom and sat there quietly without argument.

The chain that bonded you and I was brittle and weak

It crumbled at my touch and in a single second I realized i could go lower

But there's not much you can do with that information when you're already falling.

It's that way with everything in life. The threads that connect you to everything in existence are thin and unreliable

And every time one snaps you fall just a little lower than before.

I wonder how far I have to plummet before I truly reach the bottom because it's too far a journey back to the top.
