1. How many works do you have on AO3?

At this moment, I have 32 works on Ao3 (most of them oneshots)

2. What’s your total AO3 word count?

At the time of posting this, it's 146,576, but I'm very close to posting the next chapter of Solace

3. What fandoms do you write for?

Mostly Undertale right now, but I also occasionally write for Harvest Moon/Story of Seasons and Sonic the Hedgehog

4. What are your top 5 fics by kudos?

5. Do you respond to comments? Why or why not?

I love responding to comments! Even if it's just an emoji, I try to say thank you in reply, so they know I appreciate them taking the time to leave a comment.

I know there are some comments that I haven't gotten round to responding to, and those haunt me. Please know that it's either because I don't have the spoons at this moment, or because it's been so long that I'm shy about replying. But I genuinely do appreciate each and every comment I receive. 💚

6. What is the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending?

Probably No Man's Land (which also happened to be my first Undertale fic)

7. What’s the fic you wrote with the happiest ending?

I've got to say Photograph for that one. It still brings tears to my eyes rereading it, but they're happy tears.

8. Do you get hate on fics?

No one has said anything directly to me, but I did stumble upon a comment someone left elsewhere saying that one of my fics wasn't their thing because they "[didn't] like how the story is being told".

That really hurt at the time, especially as there was no other context as to why they felt that way. But my friends gave me encouragement and support.

Please be aware that anything you say online can eventually find it's way to the author, so please be kind.

9. Do you write smut? If so, what kind?

I don't, sorry.

10. Do you write crossovers? What’s the craziest one you’ve written?

Not really. I've written crossovers featuring characters from separate games in the same franchise before, but nothing that spans entirely different franchises

11. Have you ever had a fic stolen?

Not that I know of.

12. Have you ever had a fic translated?

I would be delighted if anyone enjoyed my work enough to want to translate it

13. Have you ever co-written a fic before?

No, but I would love to 💚

14. What’s your all time favourite ship?

Do Canon Character x Reader stories count? No?

Hmm... I can't think of any that would be my OTP. I generally prefer familial/platonic relationships, tbh

15. What’s a WIP you want to finish but doubt you ever will?

None of my WIPs are abandoned. But probably most of the original stories I've started and then never finished over the years. It's just much harder for me to maintain motivation when I don't have anyone reading my work and cheering me on.

16. What are your writing strengths?

I've always loved painting a scene or an emotion with words.

17. What are your writing weaknesses?

Oof, so many 😅 one thing I struggle with is wanting to post what I've written straight away. Sometimes that can work, like freshly baked bread. But most of the time it's like a plain cake: it needs time to cool, and then be assembled/decorated/finished in order to get the best experience from it.

18. Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language in fic?

I'd only do it if I was totally confident that I'd gotten it right. A common or short phrase would be my limit otherwise. If I really wanted to write dialogue in another language, I'd ask someone fluent in the language to help me with the translation and proof read my work.

19. First fandom you wrote for?

I think it was actually Legend of Zelda. I was about 12, and my brother, his friend and I made ourselves LoZ Ocarina of Time OCs. We started writing a fic of them, but never got very far.

20. Favourite fic you’ve written?

Probably Photograph. I'm a sucker for a moving reunion scene, and that fic genuinely brought tears to my eyes as I was writing it.

Currently 10.

2. What’s your total AO3 word count?

1,247,542 words 😅

3. What fandoms do you write for?

Sailor Moon and Star Wars in a crossover, with some other franchises also in the mix, for example Godzilla, Firefly and Saber Rider and the Star Sheriffs.

4. What are your top 5 fics by kudos?

I Became War For You - the first main fic

Fun in the Hay - a little lemony Harumichi sidefic

A Demi-Goddess’s way through History - sidefic in which Sailor Pluto tells stories from her past

Backs against the wall - sidefic in which two former lovers finally talk with each other again

The Man that killed Cal Omas - sidefic, showing the fight between the Guardian of Guardians and a famous bounty hunter

5. Do you respond to comments? Why or why not?

Always, I love interacting with people that comment. And I also feel special everytime someone comments one of my fics.

6. What is the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending?

Some chapters in IBWFY. Full “fic” probably The Man that killed Cal Omas.

7. What’s the fic you wrote with the happiest ending?

I’d say a Demi-Godess’s way through History.

8. Do you get hate on fics?

I have gotten some on FF.net.

9. Do you write smut? If so, what kind?

Yes, there’s even dedicated side fics. Right now it’s F/M and F/F but I’m also planning some threesomes and group scenes.

10. Do you write crossovers? What’s the craziest one you’ve written?

All of my fics are crossovers. I think Godzilla being the “pet” of Darth Vader is pretty crazy, this is in IBWFY.

11. Have you ever had a fic stolen?

Not that I know of.

No. I don’t think my audience is that big 😅

13. Have you ever co-written a fic before?

No.

14. What’s your all time favourite ship?

That’s almost impossible for me to answer as I have so many ships that I like from both Star Wars (Mara x Luke for example), Sailor Moon (Harumichi, Mamousa, etc.) and other fandoms (for example Komi x Tadano).

15. What’s a WIP you want to finish but doubt you ever will?

Maybe the alternative ending and following chapters of a decisive chapter in IBWFY.

16. What are your writing strengths?

Good question 😅 I guess dialogue.

17. What are your writing weaknesses?

Dancing scenes 😂

And I guess I’m not as good with describing feelings as other authors.

18. Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language in fic?

Been there, done that. I think it’s fitting for my fics, my little Tales of Taskforce Sol Universe.

19. First fandom you wrote for?

An AAR of Wargame: Air Land Battle turned into a small story was the first fic I ever wrote.

20. Favourite fic you’ve written?

IBWFY and a Demigodess’s Way through History (which was so much fun to write and to do research for).

Thank you for the tag, @acediee ! I'm almost always listening to music, so I have a lot of favorite songs, but here are some that keep coming back to me in no particular order:

I can never give my heart - Rose Betts - Rose Betts's unique and lovely voice is one of my current obsessions. Heartbreaking lyrics and intense instrumentals, it's a relatable song of yearning.

If I'm being honest - dodie - dodie's soft vocals have been a longtime source of comfort for me. It's a soft song of cautious optimism that says "maybe you didn't choose me on purpose, but maybe I am worthy of love, from both you and myself".

You're not special, babe - Orla Gartland - (warning for clowns/mimes in the video, but honestly, the video is so fantastic and adds so much to the song). I love Orla Gartland's work, and this song really resonates with me and is a great pick-up. The title might sound harsh, but it's a song of acknowledging that we all go through our own heartbreaks, triumphs, and sorrows, and it's easy for other people to uncomfortably look the other way. That's why it's so important to find people in your life that you can depend on. Orla's character going from being horrified by this notion to acknowledging and embracing it is done so well in this video. It's also a legitimate bop.

Still into you - Paramore - I'm still into this song! It's a fun love song that celebrates the everyday blushes and smiles you can still share with your partner after years together. It's perpetually stuck in my head and it just gives me a burst of serotonin when I hear it. 🥰

If you know that I'm lonely - FUR - Besides FUR making hilarious music videos, their retro sound is so addictive. This song always has me coming back. The melodramatic angsty lyrics combined with the comedic timing of the video always hit me in the right way.

This barely touches the tip of the iceberg of the songs I love listening to. Techno, Celtic, electroswing, jazz, blues, big band just to name a few off the top of my head, and there are so many genres that I'm still learning about.

Snail's House, who focuses on kawaii future bass, is always fun to listen to, and my favorite song by them would have to be Ramune, which is such a fun mashup of satisfying sounds, blips, and melodies to keep you listening on repeat.

It would be a crime for me to leave mxmtoon off of this list. Her soft vocals and trusty ukulele always calm me down and I love the themes in her music. She's probably best known for Prom Dress, but among many of her other works, I really love Myrtle Avenue, particularly the slower version - it really hits differently.

I also love listening to video game osts, including the Mother Series, Animal Crossing, Octopath Traveler, Mana Khemia, and whatever gives me feels and is relaxing.

Getting weird immediately with "Pecori Night," by Gorie with Jasmine and Joann, a Japanese cover of The Bay City Rollers' "Saturday Night." Not just a cover, of course, because this has a cross-dressing guy dancing around dressed like a cheerleader... Can't find the original video for this one on YT, but maybe just listen to the audio only anyway. It's ... catchy. They also have a banger cover of "Mickey." No idea how I stumbled across these.

Song number two: "Fight Song / Amazing Grace" as covered / remixed / performed by The Piano Guys:

Great song, great performance, great video, what more can I say? Look up some other stuff by them if you like this one – "All of Me" and "Rockelbel's Canon" are good examples.

Random-Mailbox's Favorite Sailor Moon Fics - Week 25 - Soulmate AU

The Soulmate Trope is the last of our posts for the month of February! This one is dedicated to  @sinjazz , whose idea it was to add it to the options in the Tophat. When I had mentioned that I was working on this, my husband’s reaction was “isn’t entire Sailor Moon premise all about those two being soulmates?!” - he is not wrong, but it is fun to explore concepts of marks, dreams, and other ways to figure out you are meant for each other 🙂

Finding Love: Chapter 66: My Moon Bunny - @wildriverinthesky

This one shot in the collection of stories is all about the mark. Only one half of the pair has it and it changes to being in colour from grayscale once you meet your soulmate. Mamoru has one of those and now knows that Usagi might just be his and now has the task of convincing her to believe him.

Finding Love: Chapter 30: Sexy Cop - @wildriverinthesky

Our second entry from @wildriverinthesky for this week! In this one, Usagi witnesses a horrific motorcycle crash on a way to a Halloween party, only to notice that the person in front of her is the one she has been dreaming of for most of her life.

Dr Chiba has been called in with many others to help victims of a crash, and while doing round with Ami gets entranced by one of the newly admitted patients (he does NOT break any doctor- patient rules, just so we are clear ;) )

Usagi and Mamoru both saw colours in their dreams, which is very unusual in this AU. One day they bump into each other at Crown, setting off a series of conversations and realizations. 

Haru no Kousekiinai Arimasu - Lina_Natsudori (Jennifer Ellison)

Sailor Moon and Tuxedo mask have a connection that lets the other understand what they might be feeling, something Sailor Venus and Sailor Mars are trying their best to nip at the bud. This multichapter is re-telling of the first arc but with a stronger leaning towards soulmates trope.

Our second entry from this author for this week - this one is a fun exchange between Usagi and Mamoru about their knowledge of mythology, with Usagi explaining origins of the term Soulmates to him in a more simplified terms than his textbook

The Space Between: Chapter 19: Destiny  - @uglygreenjacket

I think this one-shot in the collection has one of my favorite lines when it comes to Usagi and Mamoru - “It was a flirtation, you and me. You and Usagi are…" she trailed off, trying to find the right word, "...destiny." In this one shot, Rei and Mamoru discuss what their dating actually meant to both of them.

In this PGSM!AU Reinako-centered fic, a secluded and externally brusque seeming Rei suddenly gets a message on her skin from her secret soulmate, who seems to know more about her and what she is capable of than Rei could have ever imagined. Will she find out who her soulmate is? And maybe even change her ways and not only find love but also friendship along the way?

Since I utterly and completely F’d up and forgot the third icon in @hikamaus’s question here we go (Sorry! 😓):

✨: I think that although I’m not the best writer (by far) I managed to put two (and a few other) things together and created something very organic, something fitting very well together. Also I guess my (questionable) humor has found its friends and supporters. Also, something I am very proud of, is the fact that I probably have one of the longest if not the longest slow burn in literacy.

Thank you for the ask! I guess I was kind asking for it, with a title like that, lol. This was an experiment in Gray x Cliff shipping and intimate scenes using their characterizations I used in The Shy Newcomer. I found that their personalities go really well together and there's potential for a cute story about them. I didn't really have a huge plot for this one, but it was more of an exercise in seeing their chemistry and discovery of characters realizing they're attracted to more than one gender.

The scenes probably won't be used anywhere, but it was fun to write, and the chemistry could potentially be repurposed.

Cliff stirred, his eyes snapping open at the contact, but he relaxed a bit and let out a soft sigh as he pulled him into a hug.

He leaned in, his eyes flicking back toward Cliff's lips.

Three fun facts about me:

• I've been learning Portuguese for a few years now. I still suck at it though.

• I am a huge (craft) beer aficionado.

• As a child i didn’t like Star Wars, my love for it came just in my teens. I think I even was a Sailor Moon Fan before I was a Star Wars Fan.

Favourite season: Spring. I come from the mountains so I’m over winter. And summer is just too hot sometimes.

Continent where I live: Europe

How I spend my time: Work. But I also do a lot of sport and work in my particular sport, write, travel or go out with my wife, meet my friends, play videogames and watch series/ animes and movies.

Are you published?: Haha, no. I think my stuff is too specific to get much of attention (not that there aren’t some really nice ideas incorporated 😉)

Introvert or Extrovert: Actually Ambivert. It’s mostly nice, gets me places 😉

Favourite Meal: I have a lot of food that I really like, so it’s hard to tell a favorite, especially if you have so many great cooks around you like I do. But of course I love the classics (Italian, Asian) as well.

Oh, I'd like to know what 3 OTPs is about 😊😉

So this one is just random silliness I came up with in my excitement realizing that my OTPs across 3 series I love share the same Japanese voice actresses, so my brain went into overdrive imagining how the characters would react if they were to meet each other.

The 3 pairings and series are:

Reinako

Bumbleby (RWBY – Blake Belladonna x Yang Xiao Long)

Veleanor (Tales of Berseria – Velvet Crowe x Eleanor Hume)

I learnt that Rei (Crystal, Eternal, Cosmos) and Velvet are both voiced by Satou Rina, and Yang (Japanese dub) and Eleanor are both voiced by Koshimizu Ami (who also voiced Crystal, Eternal and Cosmos version Kino Makoto!)

I currently have 7 ideas of the characters interacting with each other, including being confused by their similar voices. I'm slowly trying to draw the ideas out to post the images as a set.  But because I’ve only drawn Rei and Minako before, learning to draw 4 other characters is definitely taking time, especially trying to draw them all with the appropriate height difference.  Here are the research notes I’ve made:

Hi friend!

I first watched PGSM on Dailymotion too, way back in 2006. lol The subbed version floated around in Dailymotion was either uploaded from TV-Nihon, or from Ryuusei; I remember they were two sets of subs floating around then, and each sub had a few episodes missing for whatever reason so I bounced between subs. hahaha

I'm jealous you have the DVD sets! But I did get my hands on a copy of the Visual Book, which also cost a fortune. lol

The one I've really wanted and will probably throw money to get if I'm ever lucky, is the music box set that came with a copy of Minako's I'll Be Here Album CD! I tried but couldn't find a hard copy of it floating around even on ebay though.

@hikamaus OMG you got to watch them, it's such a hilarious time seeing the girls talk about the show and their filming process. The source I pulled the subbed DVD specials from are not available now, but definitely look around to see if there's any new source just floating online. Dailymotion seems to have at least 3 of them reuploaded that I can find.

🍅 (Tomato) - Favourite and least favourite festival?

There are so many cute festivals! My favorites tend to be the ones with minigames attached to them, like the Swimming Festival (BTN/HM for Girl and Magical Melody - I love the variety of swimwear and the alternate hairstyles!), the Tomato Festival, The Egg Festival (HM64). It's so fun seeing the characters get fired up for the festival, too, or hearing them talk about the carnage afterward, lol.

I'm also a huge sucker for the romantic festivals - my favorites being Goddess Festival and the Moon Viewing Festival. I felt so special playing in HM for Girl and walking around in that adorable dress. The dance was really cute, and I enjoyed the different dialogue depending on who you had for a date.

Moon Viewing felt more casual and candid. I wish there was a little more dialogue, but it was a peaceful, pensive holiday that was cute, if not a little bittersweet depending on who you met on Mother's Hill. I just wish there was more dialogue.

(I'm convinced he's talking about his sister here, and I will die on that hill.)

The festivals I didn't care much for were the ones that barred entry from them if you didn't have high enough affection with anyone. Going to the Fireworks Festival is really cute if you have someone's affection raised enough, but it was a big letdown if you were just all by yourself.

A simple black screen saying "That was fun! Back to work..." was always a little disappointing when that was all the festival entailed.

Or starting out the game and not getting any chocolates... heheh, kinda reminds you how little everyone knows you and how alone you are. 😅

Here's a little section from the latest chapter I'm working on for The Shy Newcomer:

“You know, I’ve screwed up more times than I can possibly count at this point. It’s a tiring process, trying to improve yourself…” Cliff’s voice was soft. “But I can promise to you that it’s worth it. I don’t claim to be perfect or anything, but… wanting to become someone that your partner can rely on – I understand that.” He gazed across the group toward Claire, offering her a warm smile. She blushed as she returned the expression, her hand resting over her heart.
