there’s a cyclical keening sound, metallic and shrill, like a wheel spinning off its axis. his eyes open, if only to stare blankly up at the moonless, starless sky. it smells like burnt rubber and gasoline — tastes like dirt and the iron of blood. he closes his eyes. opens them again, and this time there’s voices, a riot of sound, flashing lights distorting his senses as a man bends urgently over him, asking questions he doesn’t answer.

something’s wrong. the understanding hits him at once, like the splash of frigid water. this was all wrong. he’d been riding his bike, headed home, coming around a corner and — he can’t feel his arm, can he? can’t move the fingers. suddenly can’t breathe, and the man above him speaks again, but this time, it isn’t to him. urgency cuts through the air, and his eyes are closing again, but now he’s trying to fight it. an icy fingertip of fear traces down along his spine, and as he slips away again, his mouth moves to say a name, the only person he wants there.

i rlly like how this one turned out!! my love for kuron will apparently never end so im stuck perpetually thinking about him till the day i die. alt ver without the snow effects under the cut

i recently discovered the joys of shading with the lasso tool:) i like his expression n hair n the shirt thing a lot, also this is the first time in a while i attempted any sort of background really (even if its rlly flat but shhh). ive had the idea for this piece stuck in my head for a while now so its been v fun finally putting it all together<3

Daryl startles, shuts the notebook he'd been writing in, and lifts his head to face whoever's approached him. Shireen is a surprising sight-- he hadn't pictured her the late night type-- but not exactly unwelcome. If anything, all he feels is flustered; he's never seen her outside the library before, and being in her personal space during her personal time feels terribly... for lack of a better word, personal.

"More like sittin'," is his first response. The waves lap at the shore, creeping ever closer but never enough to reach the blanket he'd laid out. "This is my favourite spot to be around here."

It's a bit of a stroll from the boardwalk, admittedly, but Daryl doesn't like to sit around areas with too many people. The downside of the beach is the culture around it, and the less drunk or high people he's around, the calmer he gets.

He rubs lightly at the back of his neck. "You can sit if you want. Ain't really doin' nothin'."
