Mia came downstairs in a summer dress and with a book in her hands, knowing that it would be at least a few hours before Alice would be back. It was kind of her best friend to offer Mia a place to stay during the summer while her aparmtent underwent renovations, so even though Alice had told her she could tag along to meet her old friends, Mia didn't want to be the fifth wheel, not knowing anyone.

Instead, she decided to kill some time by the pool. It was nice out, and she was not about to waste the luxury of having a pool at her disposal. As she stepped out on the terrace, though, she saw that someone else had clearly had the same idea. "How's the water?" she asked with a polite smile, walking a little closer out into the garden, before realizing that maybe Alice's parent wanted some peace and quiet. "Oh - actually, I can come back later, if you want. Wouldn't want to disturb you in your own home."

After you tell him about your situationship, he tries to pretend he doesn't care and fails miserably - you can tell he's jealous as soon as he starts acting annoyed at you and asking more and more questions about your situantionship

On the day he finds out, he keeps you to himself in his room, cuddling you in his bed to remind you (and himself) who you belong to. He also high key hates the idea of other people looking at you more than he already did, so he wants to keep you to himself

He'll still be jealous if you've cut off contact completely - he's your man, after all - but it's something he'll get over once you show him you're not going anywhere

However, if you still have any kind of contact with this person, he'll insist you cut it off immediately - why would you need to talk to another man, particularly one you used to have feelings for ?

Tohma acts nonchalant about it a lot more successfully than Jin - he'll definitely ask some questions about whether you still speak to this person, but he'll keep his composure

The only time his jealousy will show is if he finds out you two still speak - he'd firmly but still calmly tell you that you're to cut off communication with that man

After discovering about your situationship, he's be a bit more wary of others checking you out at Darkwick, so he starts to accompany you to classes more often

Also makes an extra effort to plan more dates with you instead of spending all that time running errands for Jin to show you he's worthy of you. If you comment on it, he'd most likely shrug it off

SO jealous and doesn't even try to hide it - he bombards you with questions about what this person was like and whether you still talk because he's terrified that you liked them better than him

He'll try in all the ways he can to prove that he's more worthy of your affection, constantly comparing himself to them and going out of his way to impress you by trying to protect you during missions (and mostly failing), taking you out to the best spots he can, and asking Luca to be his wingman

If you ask him what's going on, he'll definitely try to deny being jealous and become a flustered mess

Becomes even more jealous if you still talk to that person, and, although he'd be less authoritative about it than Jin and Tohma, he'd still try to get you to stop talking to them

Tries to stay very calm and nonchalant when he discovers. It bothers him a little, but you're with him now, and that's what matters most

Mostly keeps his jealousy to himself - he is a gentleman, after all

He'll unconsciously start putting in even more effort than before - walking you to class, planning dates, buying you little surprises like flowers - to show you he's the guy you wanna be with

first off, I'M HAPPY YOU CAN TELL THAT I PUT MY SOUL INTO MY ART!!! im genuinely in love with drawing and am always finding ways to make creating art enjoyable and impress myself with what i can achieve and learn :D

second, thanks for asking your question!! i dont mind answering it, but my response is quite long. here's my thinking process:

(you specified layer modes like multiply, so im gonna gear my answer towards that a bit) 1. REFERENCE SEARCHING IS KING. color is actually extremely hard for me, so i search around for artworks with palettes i'd like to use and study how an artist uses it. some situations i have a clear idea of what i want, but usually the images in my head are extremely vague, so i borrow palettes from various other artworks that fit the vibe of what i want. an example is this one. my main palette reference were from these artworks. im looking at this artist's use of high saturates and how drawings are overlayed on top of each other. while looking at references, im asking myself how is this artist using warm/cools, where are these warm/cools placed, if their illustration used any form of texturing (like halftones, hatching), how do they use their palette to render form/shape/gradient, when/where do they saturate/desaturate their colors. those questions inform my decisions when using colors too.

2. USING LAYER MODES WHEN NECESSARY. i used to be reliant on multiply for everything, which atp i dont do since i can definitely push colors more first before using layer modes. only when i feel like my current colors are lacking do i start tinkering with tone curves and/or brightness/contrast/hue/saturation/luminosity settings. and if that doesn't work, then i start using layer modes. using layer modes do help with achieving certain effects, color corrections, or when i want to fuck around and find out. i think having a better understanding of what these modes can do makes you more decisive on how you can properly utilize them and to achieve a particular look (like using multiply for a cel shaded style). here's an example:

this leads into my next point:

3. BALANCING OUT VALUES. big thing that makes an illustration hard to read is if values blend together which affects the hues and contrast. i check for what elements need to be distinguished from one another and if it can be read clearly. using layer modes can either help with this or not help at all. it's very dependent on the type of layer mode. here's this example where i applied pin light:

back to #2, there are various instances where i'm using layer modes for quick color corrections and/or to help with readability:

other times, i start off having my entire subject in gray and to figure out main shadow/lights (similar to the multiply cel shaded process i linked ealier). im thinking about what this should look like if i only used 2 value tones:

when in doubt though, i check my artwork in grayscale to ensure values aren't overly blended into each other, especially if i didnt start with grayscale like this one:

painting for me takes into consideration a lot of different aspects. im thinking about how colors should interact, where/when to give contrast, checking/balancing out values, etc, but im also making it a time to study off of how other artists use their colors through the references i collected.

Chishiya walked into the door as quietly as he could, his keys clinking together as he shut the door behind him.

Of course he didn't want to make either of you wake up, for many reasons. One of them being that he solely just, didn't want to deal with it.

He found himself staying later at work because the thought of coming home almost made him a type of sad he couldn't explain. It made his stomach hurt as if he needed a hug but the thought of someone's touch made his head dizzy.

Home was supposed to be an escape from work, but work turned into an escape for home. Chishiya wasn't sure how he did it, or how he managed to convince himself work was better. It wasn't.

The creak that was made from the rusted hinges on the bedroom door made him cringe. His sock covered feet rustling against the carpet as he made his way inside, looking towards the bed, taking a double take to look at the bodies laid underneath the covers.

Your body lies still next to the smaller one, a hand placed on the small of the child's back as your other hand continues to fidget with the short locks of hair.

He watched your hand make lazy movements against the child's scalp, making him smile at the endearing sight before him; unable to pull away his gaze nor his thoughts.

You peeked open a single eye to look at the figure standing in the darkness. "You're home." You whispered softly.

"Mhm," Chishiya hummed in reply, finally turning away his gaze to walk away. Wanting to change into more comfortable clothing.

You pulled away from the small girl beside you to sneak out of bed, following Chishiya towards the walk-in closet.

He raised a brow when he heard you closely behind him, confused why you'd rather be around him than to peacefully sleep.

"Is everything okay with you?" You whispered, flicking on the light as he removed his white coat.

"Yeah, why wouldn't it be?" He answered, letting his coat fall to the ground with the clink of his name tag.

"I don't know.." You shrugged, walking towards him with uneasy steps.

He turned around to face you as you slid your palms through the opening of his untucked shirt, his breath hitched at the touch but his entire body melted into it.

"You've been distant, Chishiya." You admitted, avoiding eye contact as you looked down at your hands that hid beneath the blue scrubs.

He thought about his next words, afraid of any negative reaction you could give him by just two simple words.

"I'm sorry." Two words he never said often; often as in ever. Maybe once or twice through your relationship but never as meaningful as the way they slipped past his lips in the softest whisper he could.

Your eyes met his glassed over ones, unsure if it was because he was exhausted or about to cry.

"It's okay." You assured him, bringing your hands away from his stomach. But, before he could miss the soft touch, your hands rested on either side of his face.

He wanted to speak but kept his silence to linger in the moment with your thumbs tracing light circles on his cheeks.

"Daddy?" The young girl voiced from behind you, obviously tired by her tiny yawn and her fingers that clawed at her eyes.

He looked at you, as if to ask for permission to pull away from the addicted touch. You smiled at him and pulled your hands away to turn around and watch the young girl run towards Chishiya with open arms.

He bent down to bring her into his embrace, picking her up to hold her against his chest. "Tired?" He hummed to her, but his eyes on you as if the question was also aimed at you.

You nodded before the young girl could disagree with a mumbled no against his shoulder.

You laughed as she attempted to fight off her sleep, but when he passed her over to you so he could finish changing; she was passed out in your arms.

The smallest interaction with his family made him realize how much he missed your soft touch. The realization he hasn't felt your hands around his skin in what felt like ages made his heart hurt.

Nevertheless, he'd never take you for granted again.

Doesn't like you going out in general cause it makes him anxious, you are so innocent and the world is so scary, he's just so worried about your safety. But he cannot control your life so he's made peace with it (correction: tries to make peace with it.)

But while you are having the big red? Oh boy..you are not going anywhere. You'll stay in bed, Mikey would get you soup, cuddles, watch Pride and Prejudice for the nth time yada yada, he'll do anything.

He'll bring you your favourite snacks and drinks and cuddle you the entire time, he'll massage your back give you forehead kisses, and basically loves pampering you during this time!

But if you have to go out because of some stupid class or meeting at work? Expect him to show up during lunchtime with a hot meal :) It's annoying but endearing. (please eating cold food during periods is so weird uhuhu)

Mikey would keep track of your menstrual cycle to know when to expect your period. This way, he can be prepared and have everything you need. Mikey is highly protective of you all the time, but he becomes even more so when you're on your period.

Mikey is also a little bit possessive when you're on your period. He doesn't want anyone else to see you in your vulnerable state.

Probably the only time he wouldn't get angry if you give him attitude. He knows that you may be more irritable or emotional than usual, and he's always prepared to handle it.

You can cry as much as you want to. He'll hug you close and whisper sweet nothings to you, he's not the best at words, but you appreciate it nonetheless.

Plus it's advantageous to this koala because he loves sleeping and you guys can thus stay longer in bed.

Would give you a lower back massage to help you relax, he's pretty good at it too!

i’m begging please make the flayed robin a fic it would be so good

Hii anon I'd love to!! However I am unable to write fanfic in this moment of my life. Ever since 2022 my life can only be summarized in college stuff, college stuff, a little bit of work and more college stuff. I am falling behind on my reading schedule as we speak lol 🙃 i expect to be free to write some time after... 2028, maybe (big maybe). I CAN draw though, which is not such a long-term compromise. Maybe I'll manage to draw something one of these days.

For the time being I would like to redirect you to two GREAT flayed!Robin fanfics that I adore, the devil's after both of us by @eskawrites and We're Going to End You by UnholyHelbig. Both featuring ronance. These are the only ones I know. Sadly, looking up "flayed Robin" on ao3 hasn't turned out to be a very fruitful search, but that doesn't mean there aren't more out there! I'll have to keep searching. If anyone reading this knows of more flayed!Robin fanfics please lmk!! Of course there's also @snowangeldotmp3 's rebel robin: surviving the upside down AU, which I'm still trying to catch up with, but it sounds like they're working on some cool flayed!Robin stuff!

While I can't give you a fanfic I CAN share with you some flayed!Robin ideas I have:

Vecna/the Mind Flayer is incredibly subtle this time, choosing to corrupt Robin rather than completely taking over her body and replacing her. He preys on her darkest thoughts, which are generally, jealousy, resentment, shame, self-deprecation hopelessness and loneliness. They both open the door for him, and act as weapons he uses to slowly torture her and turn her against her loved ones.

It begins with Robin feeling irritable, out of place, especially with Steve. Steve suddenly stops feeling like home and more like someone she shares a loving bond with but who can never really understand her, because he's a heterosexual man, because he has money, because he's high on the social pyramid and she spent her whole teenage years fighting to not fall to the bottom, because he can allow himself liberties not permitted to her. She begins to resent him. When she begins to isolate herself from him, it becomes incredibly easy for Vecna to make her spiral further and further down.

Almost nothing Robin says while possessed is 100% untrue. It tends to come from something she really feels. In normal circumstances, Robin would feel a bit sad knowing Steve can never fully understand her experience. Flayed!Robin resents him over it and wants to hurt him. But the pain is there. There ARE exceptions though, and they're interesting because the others are so used to hearing her say evil half-truths that when she says something so horriffic the real Robin couldn't possibly believe it, they think she means it deep down.

Flayed!Robin isn't physically violent - another reflection of the real Robin's nature. He uses her silver tongue to attack the others.

There's a lot of confusion from the rest of the group, even once they figure out she IS possesed, because its like she keeps coming back before being pulled under again. One moment she's acting normal and the next she's telling Nancy she always ruins everything. It's hard to tell what is true and what is a lie

Flayed!Robin targets Nancy specifically, not because it's particularly useful to Vecna - I mean, it is, but there's more to that - it comes from Robin's shameful love for Nancy, the source of so much pain. Flayed!Robin takes her anger out on her.

Flayed!Robin particularly enjoys making Nancy cry. Her favorite method is reminding her of Barb, blaming her for everything that goes wrong and telling her everyone would be better of if she were dead. Otherwise, she'll get them all killed until she's the last one standing. At the beginning though, she's just mean. She acts irritable and angry and rolls her eyes at her and doesn't take her seriously and casually insults her intelligence. She does it sparingly enough that Nancy actually wonders if she heard that right, if Robin is being serious, if it's just an instance of her "not understanding social cues" or if she really thinks she's "losing her spark" or "keeps talking nonsense lately", or whatever Vecna makes her say. This is one of the cases in which Robin doesn't mean what she says in the slightest.

Another way in which flayed Robin likes to taunt Nancy is by publicly accusing her of homosexuality. Everyone awkwardly ignores that most of the time (though sometimes Hopper sideyes her, Joyce closes her eyes and inhales deeply, and Mike snaps and loudly declares his sister isn't gay), and they ignore Nancy's sharp breath and tight fists when Robin says anything on the matter ("Aaw, Wheeler, are you in love with me? You know, I did take you for a queer but I didn't think you'd be after me. Thought you were still hung up on that Barb girl").

At the beginning of Robin's possesion, Nancy was incredibly kind to her, saying sweet, loving things to her even if unsure if she could hear her or not. She promised she would take care of her and that she'll be okay. Robin would usually roll her eyes and tell her, voice full of scorn, that if Nanch Wheeler is promising to "take care of her" then her odds aren't very promising. It hurts Nancy so much to hear that. She thinks there's a little bit of the real Robin behind those words.

Nancy becomes exhausted after some time. Exhausted and angry. She convinces herself it's only Vecna in there, and she refuses to offer him any kindness. He will pay for what he did to the girl she loved.

When they get her and tie her up so they can think of a plan, they leave her alone for a moment, and for the first time, Vecna retreats entirely, to let her fully feel the bite of ropes around her wrists, keeping her immobilized, tied to the chair. He wants her to fully feel the terror of her trauma without any numbing effect. Bonus points if she's not fully alone - Nancy is keeping watch, and Robin is scared and confused as to why she looks at her with such cold eyes, why she won't help her, why she won't comfort her when she sees her panicking and crying and begging. It's the worst torture so far, and when Nancy steps forward, and looks at her with so much hate, and says "Shut. Up", Robin feels her heart break all over again (Nancy had told her she loved her once and she never knew what she meant by that. She supposes the love is gone now). She has no idea Vecna has played with Nancy in this way a million times before.

Whenever they drug her to keep her unconcious, Nancy gives her as much physical affection as she can - stroking her cheek, brushing her hair, cuddling her. She wonders if, in this way, Robin will feel something Vecna doesn't.

When she comes back, Robin remembers everything she said while possessed and won't stop apologizing, refusing any comfort Nancy tries to offer her because she thinks she doesn't deserve it, but Nancy won't hear any of that. If I'm being honest, Rui also has a history of starving himself. He doesn't usually mean to do it, mostly it happens when he's working on something and gets taken away, but he's no stranger to going hungry

If he does catch on that you do it purposefully though, well then, it becomes an entirely different matter in his eyes. You were starving yourself for whatever reason, and he wanted to help you through it!

As a result, he won't say too much when he notices you not eating at first. He assumes it's just how you live, and he'd never interfere with that

He starts by asking why you starve yourself. You of course don't have to answer, but it does help him know what you need help with!

Either way, he'll constantly compliment you! He finds you gorgeous no matter what, and he makes sure you know it <3

He definitely starts to pack lunches for you! Even if he may or may not have exploded his own kitchen a few times, every meal he brings you is homemade! Just don't expect to find any vegetables in there-

Overall, he's very determined to help you eat properly! It's very likely that he will make you a drone that gives you food whenever he can't <3

If one of the foods you willingly will eat is vegetable though, you can expect him to begrudgingly take you out to a restaurant to get you some- He loves you a lot, but his distaste for vegetables is strong </3
