'The Vampire Lestat' book in the AMC Iwtv universe takes double the the time to write and publish not because its any longer than the first book, but because when Lestat gets to the part about fucking Gabrielle, Daniel immediately leaves and takes a 6 month sabbatical with Armand in Miami before he can compose himself enough to even be in the same city as Lestat again.
