does anyone have any anime suggestions that are similar to Highrise Invasion, Chainsaw Man, Attack on Titan or Jujutsu Kaisen? (not Tokyo Ghoul or Mirai Nikki)

I love animes like One Piece and Naruto but they are honestly aimed towards children, which isn’t bad all the time but most animes are directed towards kids. (yes I know some of the harsh themes in One Piece but the animation style and overall vibe is childish) I’ve been really into horror lately and I know none of what I said is horror but I would love horror suggestions like Junji Itos collection. But I’d more so like animes that don’t seem childish by the point of what they do being friendship or some dumb shit like that. I like the mystery in AOT and the story progression and the twist. I guess I’m just asking for anime suggestions where they are having to kill each other for some greater mysterious cause that you figure out later in the show.😭 (not danganronpa)

Related to the first two questions, I saw a lot of online comparisons between big superhero teams (like the comic Justice League's extended universe or what the Ultramen have going on) and your standard military organization. What's a good way to distinguish the two aside from competency?

I feel like superheroes seem like the military when they're given the trappings of a miltiary conflict - fighting armies, calling their enemies "terrorists," having them work with spy agencies and take orders from government officials, etc.

Whereas if you make your superheroes fight costumed weirdos who proudly proclaim themselves as their villain identity - "Halt Spider-Man, you will never stop the diabolical machinations of Dr. Octopus, the Master Planner!" - they feel like, you know, superheroes. Superman doesn't feel like an army boy when he's fighting a cyborg who calls himself Metallo or, like, Titano the giant space gorilla who shoots Kryptonite lasers. The Fantastic Four don't feel like the military when they're four weirdos in a highrise apartment who routinely get menaced by a maniac wearing a green tunic and medieval plate mail armor calling himself Dr. Doom.

But when the Fantastic Four are called by the military and ordered to deal with a terroist attack by the Latverian dictator Victor Van Damme, who is nicknamed by some as Dr. Doom (but those characters are immediately shouted down by some other minor side character for making light of this very serious international incident), suddenly it feels very military-y. When the Avengers aren't just some weirdoes with a mansion, but explicitly a task force put together by international spies to deal with invasions by foreign powers, they feel military-y.

It's all about presentation.
