Hello first time reader, May I please request Hcs for Yandere Nanami wherein after they save him in Shibuya they leave because they were wanted by the higher ups because their power is too powerful to control. How would he react to see their darling again roughly around the culling games arc ?
Hmm I like this idea! While I’m not too familiar with the Culling Games Arc, I tried reading as much as my ADHD mind would allow me… So, with that, allow me to try and tell you how I think this goes down.
༺✧✧✧✧✧✧✧✧✧✧✧✧✧✧✧✧✧✧✧✧✧✧✧✧༻
Let’s say our lovely reader ends up arriving to save Nanami after he’s been fried like a piece of bologna…
— As if almost dying wasn’t scary enough, by the hands of Mahito, nonetheless, seeing you suddenly appear to save him instilled more fear into Kento. Mahito is no ordinary curse after all, and even if you are an incredibly powerful Jujutsu Sorcerer, Kento will always worry about your safety and wellbeing.
- You may not have eliminated the curse in question, but you damn sure put up a good fight and gave yourself and Kento enough time to escape. To say Kento is both surprised and grateful is an extreme understatement… The man is in awe, and more than likely getting butterflies every time the memory of you coming in to save him, replays in his mind.
- Kento refuses to rest. He refuses to not be around you, standing at attention in some sort of way. You may have saved him and proved to be perfectly capable of protecting yourself… But you’re his one and only, and every fiber of his being, no matter how much agony he may be in occasionally, tells him that he must be there to try to protect or help you if anything happens.
- You being wanted because of your power does not make Kento any less stressed. In fact, this ends up making him clingier than before. Far clingier. He always has an arm or hand settled on or around you in some way, keeping you close, no matter the situation or surroundings. He is also constantly trying to drag you around, insisting that you must keep moving, in order to avoid anything that could separate you two, this mainly being the higher-ups and anything regarding the culling games arc.
- (I’m not too familiar with the Culling Games arc, again, but I will use what very little knowledge I have) However, the CGA isn’t exactly avoidable, and someone with the power you contain, is of course, desired to be entered in the game.
- Assuming the two of you happen to be separated for an amount of time, Kento would be looking for you tirelessly. His body is very slowly recovering and his burns are improving, but all his energy goes into reconnecting with you. And once he finds you, during the CGA, he’s back to square one, clinging to you and giving you no space to breathe.
- There is absolutely no getting rid of Kento at this point and he has inevitably decided to help you get through the CGA, determined to make sure both you and him come out of this catastrophe alive. So much for that vacation to Malaysia he wanted to take with you, huh?
༺✧✧✧✧✧✧✧✧✧✧✧✧✧✧✧✧✧✧✧✧✧✧✧✧༻
I’m sorry if I misunderstood or misinterpreted this ask, or it didn’t come out how you desired, I haven’t educated myself on the Culling Games Arc enough (and cannot bare to watch my man die in 4K on my phone). Either way, I hope you like this..!!!?

When asked about his future as an actor and as a budding entrepreneur, @tul_pakorn says, "When I was younger, I had all these different dreams, and real estate was a big one. But as I got more into acting, that dream kind of took a backseat. Still, I wasn't ready to let it go completely."
"I've been thinking about ways to improve communities, like providing cosy shelters, better access to fresh air, or boosting education support - you know, stuff that makes life better. And I've got this dream of leading my own sustainable housing project."
If you're a fan of @tul_pakorn, you know that he and Mew are inseparable buddies and he shares, "He's been there for me through thick and thin, especially since I made the call to head to the States for my studies. Missing those laid-back hangouts with him is hitting me hard.
"Our chats usually span across time zones; I'll be having my morning coffee while he's winding down for the night, and then it flips around the next day."
Despite the physical distance, they make it a point to reunite every three months, with Mew visiting Tul in NYC and Tul reciprocating the gesture with trips to Thailand. Their bond, it seems, knows no bounds.
Amidst the hectic schedule, Tul prioritizes fitness, dedicating time to gym sessions to maintain his physique. "My aim for 2024 is to achieve a leaner, healthier body," he shares, acknowledging that while his physique may be admired by many, he sets personal standards higher. When probed about his definition of "sexy," Tul offers a nuanced perspective. "To me, sexiness transcends mere physical appearance; it's rooted in one's mindset, personality, and physical attributes," he explains. And when pressed further about who embodies this definition, a mischievous grin appears. "Tul Pakorn," he quips, punctuating his assertion with laughter. "Some might call it narcissism, but I think it's all about owning your allure. I mean, if you can't appreciate your own sexy, who else will?" he jests.
"I can't believe I shamelessly proclaimed myself sexy," he quips...

Pre-med Results
It has obviously been a hot minute since A level results have been out. However, I thought writing in general about my O level results, A level results and other exam results would be the best way to start this little blog of mine. I will also take this opportunity to introduce myself a little.
During o levels, i wasn't exactly hard working. I had gotten burnt at some point during grade 8 and a personal experience in graded 9 pushed me further away from my studies. I do intend to go into those details some time in the future. For now, I will stick to my study methods and the results this gave me. Despite my lack of interest in studies during this time, I always paid attention in class. I was that girl who would maintain eye contact with the teacher, mostly because it helped me stay present. I did not have many friends and that definitely aided me in staying focused. I did have a few crushes on boys but this did not really affect my studies as I did not talk to them. I might go into more detail about this later. The memories are pretty funny when I look back. Anyways, luckily I did not do too bad on my exams. I got A*s in Chemistry, Biology, Math, Computer Science, English and Physics IGCSEs. I got As in Dhivehi and Islam SSCs.
My grades during O Levels were not perfect. I had not reached my goals. I had thought that that was to be expected as I had not tried as hard as other people my age, and promised myself to try harder in the following years.
My A levels started off to a good start. I was implementing methods which worked for me as well as avoiding methods I had tried and found not to work. In hindsight, some of my goals were pretty unrealistic and I believe that played a key role in my diminishing motivation and discipline. However, I remember feeling embarrassed when people would see me working hard and studying. Other people did not seem to be working as hard and this made me feel insecure. Gradually, I stopped studying completely and lost track of all my assignments. Talk about peer pressure huh. This also happened to be a point in time where I was dealing with a huge identity crisis and this only added to my stress. In the end, I got pretty good grades, but far from what I had hoped for. I got As in Chemistry and Biology A levels and a B in Math A level. I also got 2 As in Dhivehi and Islam HSCs. This was really unfortunate for me as in my country those who got all As received a full government scholarship to study in quite literally wherever they chose. Regardless, the B in math was deserved, I would say, as I had been a careless student.
After many tears, I decided not to dwell too much on the past. My parents and I went to a higher education fair where we spoke to a few medical schools in Malaysia. Namely, NUMed, Cyberjaya and MSU. I ended up really loving NUMed and MSU was a close 2nd. I was advised by all of them to take the IELTS and so I did, and recently received my results. I got an overall 8.0. (Listening: 8.5, Reading: 8.5, Writing: 7.0, and speaking 8.5)
I will be writing about my experience applying to medical schools as well as more soon so make sure to follow me!

11/29/2006, kuala lumpur, malaysia, 8:55 pm.
current location: gopeng, perak, malaysia
bio: i grew up in a rough time and had to basically live by teaching myself things. i have mommy issues and mixed feelings towards my older brother. people have said i'm charming, silly, happy-go-lucky, but also self-centered, in my own world, inconsistent, unreliable in outings. i was very depressed and had umm mental issues i can't even identify properly, but after entering pre-university i felt that i improved a lot better.
i'm not sure what i'd like to ask, but i want to know something regarding my academic performance. i've consistently disappointed myself and sabotaged my own grades due to my impulsive decisions and it cost me heavily. now that i'm getting my degree i want to make sure it doesn't happen again, but idk what the stars will say. so i'd like to ask — based on my chart, how do i learn to find a healthier version of myself in order to achieve my dreams?
Hello, sorry for the late response I had some unexpected life stuff happen.
You have a strong scorpio 6th house. You could be attracted to careers involving investigating/research and analysis. Careers in service to helping others are likely too. EX: Law, Medical, Psych fields. Your pisces moon suggests you will be creative in your career. You could even do well in marking or consulting. You are likely to be good at any field because pisces moon in 10th for gemini asc is a very good placement.
Saturn and ketu are in your 3rd. Your 11th H ruler which deals with older siblings is in 6th H too. This can indicate a difficult relationship with siblings especially older.
Your spouse is likely to be well educated. An older person too. They can be tall physcially. They can have a dry sense of humour. They can be very knowledgable - you could adapt their beliefs such as political, religious, etc.
You may encounter romantic connections with controlling and critical people. You must be careful to not confuse those types with your spouse.
You have a Saturn/Rahu dasha period coming up in October. This period will last until 2027. Like all periods of life there are a mix of good and bad. Your natal Rahu is in 9th house, this shows focus on higher education and spiritual/religious beliefs. This period will require hard working and consistency to get through but you will get through it. At times you will feel your faith is being tested, you can struggle with feeling lonely. This is a good time to make sure you keep a strong support system in your life. Be kinder to yourself during this period but don't let yourself become lazy or inconsistent.
Rahu in 9th does bring interrupted studies but from what you described it seems you have already experienced it. If you keep a strong focus, you should achieve your goals.
By March 2030 (age 23), you will leave your Saturn mahadasha period. This is good news as many find that the Saturn period is very difficult. Since the age of 4-20, you have been in a Saturn mahadasha. This can bring delays in career, romance, and life in general. It can test your faith and be a karmic period. Luckily, you have gotten it over with by the time you are 23. After 23, you can slowly begin to reap the benefits of your hard labour.
2027 September to 2032 (ages 20-23), you are likely to begin to have an easier time. You can meet new friends & someone to be with for the long tern. I don't want to get hopes up or scare you so please understand I'm not a pro and you have free will to do as you please with your life.
Aug 2033 - Jun 2036 (ages 26-29) are also very likely to be good especially in regard to romance as this is a Mercury/Venus period. Many get married during their venus period, however once again I don't want to get your hopes up. This is not always the situation for everyone. However, generally it will be blissful.

TORY PARTY MANIFESTO 2024 SUMMARY
tldr: little rishi is liz truss now. words 8, 9 and 10 of the manifesto are 'covid and ukraine', so they're swinging hard on excusemaking, and it's very negativist and defensive - attacking labour and justifying their terrible government. they know they’re losing so it’s a mess in an attempt to stop their base voting reform. this is the only major manifesto whose headings are written in serif, tryna act all official and luxe
💷ECONOMY
flat-rate employee national insurance cuts from 12% to 6% over the next two financial years, allegedly cutting income taxation for a £35k/a worker by £1,350 (their numbers) BUT also giving the highest 'employee' earners this same tax-cut
trickle-down economics: keep corporation tax at extreme lows
exempt the self-employed from national insurance contributions, essentially cutting overall income taxation by a couple percent
specific, direct threat to cut benefits for 'people of working age with a disability or health condition', restrict PIP entitlements with harsher assessments, massively expand 'fit to work' status over people with mental health and mobility conditions to remove benefits from 400k people (despite the current regime leading to misery and deaths), transfer fit note responsibility from GPs to the dwp to restrict more benefits, reduce the 'claimant review' date from 18 months to 12 months without work
transition child benefit entitlements to be based on 'household' earnings rather than individual earnings
"we will not increase the number of council tax bands, undertake an expensive council tax revaluation or cut council tax discounts, as labour is currently doing in wales", preventing councils from getting more property tax revenue whilst not increasing their funding from anywhere, enabling more and more and more and more councils to shit themselves and die, letting them blame labour for "bankrupting" the councils that the central government themselves squeezed to death
ban councils doing four-day week schemes
reduce net borrowing – curious considering the unfunded nature of the manifesto proposals
increase taxes on online distribution warehouses "to help the high street" [citation needed]
"use brexit freedoms" to recategorise many 'large' businesses as 'medium', exempting them from reporting requirements and allowing them to exploit their workers more
more fucking 'freeport' special economic zones
'strengthen the commonwealth' because that's the favourite excuse of europhobic excusemakers acting like severing trade with the mainland wasn't a horrifically bad idea. india and malaysia do not give a shit about us mate and it's ridiculous to think australia and guyana could ever offer as much economic integration as the mainland can
do nothing to supervise or control the City with a specific eye to doing nothing about "fintech" and "ai"
economic commitment to continue union-busting and restricting union rights, 'continue implementing' the so-called 'minimum service levels legislation' to enable strikebreaking and mandatory scabbing
🏥PUBLIC SERVICES
continue the privatisation of the NHS but with a focus on small/medium enterprises
expand, that's right, expand the indefensible multi-academy trusts, build more indefensible 'free schools' (ie with private charters, no oversight, and public cash), expand faith schools, strengthen ofsted to be even more bureaufascistic against attacks after that headteacher's suicide
continue and enforce the ongoing propaganda push into primary schools, "we will always support teachers to uphold and promote fundamental British values"
'close university courses with the worst outcomes' [clarification needed], again, threatening the higher education sector into compliance with their whims
stick all children not in school on a register
make the NHS app a single frontend for all NHS stuff
slash the size of the civil service and 'bring quango spending under control', incorporate so-called 'ai' into the civil service [clarification needed]
🏠HOUSING
lax planning laws including environmental protections and opportunities for legal challenge, and force councils to set aside land for builders, to allow more private-finance soulless newbuild sprawl, with no new infrastructure, no new community, only house-for-sale after house-for-sale
target the building of mcmansions on inner-city brownfields
expand help-to-buy for these horrible newbuilds
restrict social housing along xenophobic and classist lines: "we will legislate for new ‘local connection’ and ‘uk connection’ tests for social housing in england, to ensure this valuable but limited resource is allocated fairly"
'reform' leaseholds and cap ground rents, not abolishing this indefensible stain
give 105 towns a pathetic £20m
🚄TRANSPORT ?
build northern powerhouse rail including Bradford Station "using money saved from HS2" and £12b more, and upgrade the east midlands mainline
lax planning restrictions on new strategic (big and polluting) roads
deliver money centrally for transport projects: £1.75b for the midlands rail hub, a pathetic £1b for buses in the north AND in the midlands, and £13b for 'local priorities' to 'cut congestion' (read: roads)
introduce a specific 'death by dangerous cycling' offence
"automated vehicles will be on British roads in the next parliament"🤮
ban low-traffic neighbourhoods except on a 'road by road basis' 'with the support of the people who live there' and create a statutory right to challenge existing LTNs
"labour’s incoherent and ideological nationalisation plan would put the trade unions in charge", ie the incoming british railways (being set up) will continue the indefensible franchise-concession system that emerged after the final collapse of the franchise system in 2020
"include measures to reform outdated working practises in the rail industry" – ie forcing through driver-only trains and other things the drivers are striking against, possibly requiring strikebreaking them
👮FORCE
"in recent months we have seen shocking increases in protests being used as a cover for extremist disruption and criminality. we cannot allow a small and vocal minority to destroy our democratic values. that is why we unveiled a new extremism definition under which certain groups that promote an ideology based on violence, hatred or intolerance will be blocked from government funding and meeting officials. we have passed tough new laws to curb disruptive protests. our public order act 2023 [ie the Bill that the kill the bill protests were trying to kill] gave the police new powers to intervene where protests cause serious disruption to communities, leading to the arrests of over 600 just stop oil and extinction rebellion protestors in London alone. we will introduce further powers to ban face coverings, pyrotechnics and climbing on war memorials. we will strengthen police powers to prevent protests or marches that pose a risk of serious disorder, by allowing police to take into account the cumulative impact of protests"
"building on our new powers for the police, we will further speed up the use and enforcement of powers to remove illegal traveller sites, while giving councils greater planning powers to prevent unauthorised development by travellers", furthering the ongoing clampdown on the civil rights of our country's GRT people
surge funding for the armed forces
deliberate target to be europe's largest arms exporter by 2030 no i am not fucking joking
sabrerattle at the 'Axis of Hostile Actors' (russia, china, iran), giving a catchy name to the other side of this little cold war of theirs
abuse the permanent un council seat as much as possible
"we will push for a two-state solution in the middle east - our long-standing position has been that we will recognise a palestinian state that is most conductive to the peace process" [oxymoronic – SEE ME]
roll out broken windows policing
mandatory minimum of life for 'most heinous murderers', prohibit parole for rapists
not enact Leveson 2 and allow the press hate speech and corruption to continue, proceed with centralised renegotiation of BBC funding with all statecapture (or the effects of the threats thereof) that may entail
half-baked national service proposal. look, they know they're gonna lose so they've come up with this faff to win over their base. all 18-year-olds (no specific enumeration given so i'm guessing it means from yer 18th birthday to 19th birthday, interfering with exams and start of uni) forced to do one weekend a month 'community volunteering', or get one of 30k places in the military (out of a typical annual cohort of 400k) for a year, so the troops get distracted from their warcrimes by being forced to do childcare lmao. the compulsion to do this is not enumerated, with one rogue minister suggesting fines could fall at the feet of the parents of these adult people. takeaway: this is total nonsense and they don't have to make it make sense so who cares
legal cap on work and family visas, screen migrants for health conditions and force them to pay if they need treatment, do the rwanda concentration camp scheme, ban asylum seekers from countries 'that don't work with us', mass deportations of illegals [clarification needed]
LEAVE THE EUROPEAN COURT OF HUMAN RIGHTS if it finds against the rwanda concentration camp scheme
expand the NCA with a focus on being the hostile environment
promote the imperialistic ambitions of the anglosphere and english as the cosmocratic imperial lingua franca
only 30k of the so-called 'national service' would in the military, so basically forcing the military to do daycare
commitment to continued strikebreaking and union-busting
force landlords to evict "antisocial" tenants in a 'three strikes and you're out' policy
ban mobile phones in schools
pledge for a Bad Internet Bill to restrict online content, 'carefully consider' the bertin review to implement hostile measures against pornography
🌱CLIMATE ?
build new gas power stations and accelerate oil and gas extraction in the north sea
treble offshore wind, in line with labour's proposals
invest £1b into green energy – a pathetically small amount
approve more nuclear reactors
carbon credit scheme for imports of materials
restrict the mandate of the climate change committee
force solar power stations to be a minimum distance from another solar power station 'to protect rural landscapes'
allow nimby organisations to prevent onshore wind
reverse the ultra-low emissions zone expansion
slowly work towards a deposit-return system
a new national park. a new one. a. one
🗳️DEMOCRACY ?
"we remain committed to the first past the post system for elections, maintaining the direct link with the local voter. we will not change the voting age rom 18. we will maintain rules to tackle voting fraud, including the requirement to show id"
"we believe the governments in Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland now have the right balance of powers"
"we will bring forward legislation to reapply the entirety of the trade union act 2016 (ie restricting the rights of unions) to wales. and a welsh conservative government would reverse labour's plans to expand the senedd" [relevance - this isn't a manifesto for the senedd election]
expand the useless sticking-plaster combined authorities, give powers first to Tees Valley in bare-faced partisan corruption
🏳️⚧️REACTIONARY AGENDA
"biological sex is a reality. the overwhelming majority of people in this country recognise that. it has been more than a decade since the equality act was passed by a labour government. it has not kept pace with evolving interpretations and is not sufficiently clear on when it means sex and when it means gender. the next conservative government will introduce primary legislation to clarify that the protected characteristic of sex in the equality act means biological sex. this will guarantee that single sex services and single sex spaces can be provided, for example in healthcare and sports settings, to ensure women and girls are protected"
"in recent years, an increasing number of children have started questioning their gender, the consequences of which are still unknown. parents will have a right to know if their child wants to be treated as the opposite sex and schools will have to involve parents when it comes to decisions about their children"
"attempts at so-called 'conversion therapy' are abhorrent. but legislation around conversion practices is a very complex issue, with existing criminal law already offering robust protections. in light of the cass review final report, it is right that we take more time before reaching a final judgement"
"we will work to strengthen the relationship between schools and parents, including by delivering new legislation which will make clear, beyond all doubt, that parents have a right to see what their child is being taught in school [they made it bold not me] and schools must share all materials, especially on sensitive matters like relationships and sex education. this builds on the progress [citation needed] we have already made, having updated relationships, sex and health education guidance to introduce clear age-limits on what children can be taught [the rightist outrage at 'sex education for five year olds' is literally stuff like gay people exist so don't bully billy two-dads for having two dads, which is of course fucking unacceptable to the daily mosley] and guarantee the contested concept of gender identity is not taught to children [clarification needed -- or not, because the vagueness is the point, it's Section 28 two, terrorising the entire public sector into silence about anything the daily mosley might clench their pearls about]."
commitment to implement the cass review, ban the private prescription of puberty blockers, accelerate the increasing prohibition of their NHS prescription, fight 'ideologically-driven care' and follow 'evidence' (in the context of the case review meaning absolute prohibition and literal torture)
stop public sector DEI [clarification needed]
'not allow the word woman to be erased'
🤔STRAIGHT UP NON-POLICIES
a load of stuff in the manifesto, especially in the economic section, is just 'maintain funding for...', including 'maintaining' the living wage (ie without even making it legally mandatory), and do ongoing plans instituted by public sector organs that wouldn't be theirs to organise
the so-called 'triple lock plus' or 'quadruple lock': the triple lock legally mandates three possible minima for the state pension, depending on which is highest. it's currently below the tax-free personal allowance, but it is forecast to go above the current personal allowance at some point, which would mean pensioners would start paying tax on the income above the allowance. the tories have made a huge song and dance about raising the personal allowance for pensioners in line with the triple lock. George W Bush 'Mission Accomplished' energy. they're trying to present 'removing' this weird and unhelpful discrepancy as a 'tax cut', even though it is currently not a 'tax' and would be easily rectified by any incumbent government facing this situation by just raising the allowance, because all pensioners would cause a hell of a storm were the government to forget to solve the discrepancy. and it totally ignores any possibility of the personal allowance being raised anyway
prevent first-time buyers from having to pay stamp duty! except there's been a 'temporary' lien for years so this is nothing
'maintain the ban on prisoners voting' is listed as an actual policy

Would you ever write a historical fiction story? Would you ever write one of those Non-fiction But Artistic Liberty stories? Would YOU ever write a Fated Mates story?
Would you ever write a historical fiction story?
I would love to find the inspiration for one because I truly love research. That's probably one part of higher education that I deeply miss. The Hades/Persephone novel sorta had some of those historical fiction elements, but it's too firmly in the category of mythology to be considered anything else. In truth, I most love historical fiction that has a tinge of fantasy, magic, or magical realism to it. Yangsze Choo's Malaysia novels, The Book Thief narrated by Death, Like Water for Chocolate, those have all really stuck with me due to how wonderfully married the historical is with the fantastical. Knowing me, I'd gravitate to a 1920s mafia story, something pertaining to the Golden Age of Piracy, or that sinful, gothic, immortal romance with Count Saint-Germain set in Victorian London (thanks, Code: Realize). I think the only other historical figure I've ever been intrigued to write about is Vlad Tepes, hardly original.
Would you ever write one of those Non-fiction But Artistic Liberty stories?
No. I don't even have to think about it, really. It's a miracle that I ever read anything nonfiction, and always with the intention to learn. Writing it sounds dreadful. I'd want to be Profound and Intellectual, but without being able to lean on emotional impact and my silly goose tendencies (I can't not slip into something comedic if I see the timing for it), it'd just come out Very Researched but Very Dry. It's kinda funny because I just waxed poetic about historical fiction; surely this is but a hop, skip, and a jump away? Yeah, straight into a ravine, feels like. Now that I think about it, all the best ~Based on a True Story~ things I like are all screenplays, and I never got close to learning that craft.
Would YOU ever write a Fated Mates story?
Sure, if I could break everything about it that's mainstream. "Mates" would never be referred to, even in a soulmate context. No A/B/O-lite shit. I'd rather just show it instead of ever say it. I would want people to read it, declaring that these people belonged together no matter where or what or who they were. So, honestly, I see a work with two characters whose existences are always linked, for better or worse. I see a lot of time skips, of existing in different periods, states, genders, worlds. A lot of tragedy with their time cut short, with death, with fleeting opportunity. Of one being alive while the other is waiting for them in Limbo, in Elysium, in Yomi. A lot of hope, too, with rebirth, with seeing each other again and falling in love anew, however brief. And then, there are the times where they don't fall in love. Where they're only friends for a season before going their separate ways or bitter enemies until death, each falling to the other. But always, always that spark of recognition. I know this person. I've seen those eyes before. No matter what, they cannot escape each other, but even when that realization is its most bitter, still, there is a strange kind of peace to be found in it. After all, isn't it a relief to have your existence be for a purpose, even if it's for someone else? To know you can shout into the universe and always hear that one person shout back, even if it's late? Even if it's just the once?

“In diversity, there is beauty, and there is strength” – Maya Angelou
What a wondrous thing it is when people come together and help each other. After all, if we were meant to be alone, there wouldn’t be other people in this universe with us (there wouldn’t even be other universes… but that’s a story for another time). This week let’s zoom in to crowdsourcing: the internet’s version of everyone coming together to help each other.
Though the term itself is pretty self-explanatory, I’m going to clarify it for the context of this discussion. Crowdsourcing is a tossed salad of opinions and ideas from people of various backgrounds, usually who are not affiliated with large brands. Today, crowdsourcing has transformed mere opinions into catalysts for progress. So now the question is, how does crowdsourcing impact innovation and problem-solving across industries? Let’s look at the Malaysian examples of how crowdsourcing has impacted the technology, education and creative industries.
☆。*。☆。☆。*。☆。☆。*。☆。
Tech This Out
Firstly, let’s look at Petronas’ Technology Challenges (Petroliam Nasional Berhad 2023). In the 15th Technology Challenge the inspection technique of non-metallic underground piping, showcased collective innovation. The challenge drew participation from diverse local and international entities, culminating in Electro Scan Inc.'s victory with the "Machine-Intelligent Pipe Condition Assessment" technology. This groundbreaking solution, using a low-voltage, high-frequency electrical current, eliminates the need for excavation when assessing non-metallic pipes. Petronas' recognition of this technology underscores the collaborative effort in advancing inspection methodologies.
Similarly, Malaysia's dedication to 5G progress is exemplified in the "Malaysia's 5G Innovation Challenge" (Low 2023). Ericsson's role in deploying a second 5G network highlights the country's commitment to embracing cutting-edge technology. Challenges in 5G deployment, such as diversity and complexity, prompt a two-pronged approach. Engaging with the broader ecosystem and initiatives like Open Radio Access Networks (Open RAN) prove instrumental. Manufacturing partners, like Jabil, significantly contribute by providing cost-effective and efficient production solutions. With over half of Malaysia's populated areas now covered by 5G, the evolving ecosystem anticipates rapid growth, fostering innovation and collaboration between wireless entities and manufacturing partners. The future of 5G in Malaysia appears promising, with collaboration playing a pivotal role in this technological evolution.

The Study of Studies
Another notable sector is the education industry. Malaysia's adoption of the Inclusive Open Educational Resources (iOER) National Policy (UNESCO 2023) and the widespread availability of Massive Open Online Courses (MOOCs) (Department of Higher Education & Ministry of Higher Education 2023) exemplify crowdsourcing by tapping into the collective wisdom of diverse contributors. OER, shaped through a multistakeholder approach involving experts from 20 Malaysian public universities, civil society groups, and various institutions, demonstrates collaborative efforts to create inclusive and equitable educational resources.
Likewise, the extensive array of MOOCs, drawing from 20 local universities and engaging over 500 thousand students, showcases the collective contribution of educators and institutions toward accessible and free online learning. Both OER and MOOCs underscore Malaysia's commitment to crowdsourced educational content, where the collective input from various stakeholders enriches and democratises the learning experience.

The Artsy Creativity
The creative industry has harnessed the power of crowdsourcing through platforms like KITA BUAT and community-made street art in Malaysia. KITA BUAT, established in 2019, serves as a global hub connecting artists, gamers, musicians, and YouTubers. It enables them to showcase their creations on various mediums like wall prints and fashion apparel. Through KITA BUAT, individuals can open their stores, fostering a sense of community and self-expression.
Community-made street art, prevalent in cities like Kuching, showcases vibrant murals and graffiti, transforming urban spaces into dynamic canvases. Initiatives like the #Tanahairku Street Art project, supported by Petronas, unite artists nationwide to express their love for Malaysia through vibrant creations (Bong & Cheng 2019). These projects, such as 'Wild About Kuching' and 'Leaping Feline,' portray unity, heritage, and cultural diversity.
Both KITA BUAT and community-made street art exemplify how crowdsourcing in the creative industry empowers individuals, fosters collaboration, and transforms public spaces into vibrant reflections of shared identity and artistic expression.

Now What?
Malaysia's crowdsourcing initiatives in tech, education, and the creative sector showcase the power of collaborative, community-driven efforts. From solving industry challenges to fostering inclusive education and vibrant street art, these endeavours reflect a collective spirit. So let us all explore these initiatives to witness the transformative impact of crowdsourcing in shaping a dynamic and innovative future ︵‿︵

Is social media useful in spreading information on covid-19 in Malaysia or your country? What is your opinion?
Gif from giphy
Hi there! This week’s blog is about public health and we will dive a little about the coronavirus disease, also known as covid-19 and in days gone by, named 2019 novel coronavirus. Coronavirus was first spotted at one of open air “wet market” in Wuhan, China. Afterwards, during that time, there was an assumption that there might a coronavirus originated in one of lab in China as a biological weapon. However, the newest reports concur that the coronavirus is not an engineered virus being developed to become a biological weapon.
What is social media role during coronavirus issue?
According to (Abbas et al., 2021), people usage time on social media is higher than usual during COVID-19 pandemic period since social media is the only platform where people can search for health information for their own and their loved one’s benefits. Due to global crisis and health disaster during the pandemic, social medias have become the most welcome relief for people.
(Abbas et al., 2021) also stated, typically, users will create or share about health information that already available via local or international sources as their response to an international public health issue.
As social media platforms can bring impacts to people, people also need someone who can share their own life experience or their knowledge about health issue and shared their experience or knowledge about health information. This method called peer support. The peer support concept on social media is referring to health information that will help people to know more about Covid-19 pandemic issue. People will be searching for health-related news regarding to Covid-19 pandemic in their social media account, for example the most common one is Facebook. Since Covid-19 pandemic brought “culture shock” to the world, people will be searching for the detailed health-related update and stay keep in touch with family, friends and peers. Public communication and interaction searching for accurate information and opportunity of Covid-19 to create proper virus prevention on social media. Since social media provides the latest news and trustable information to the world, social media have become the central role in answering in global health crisis issue.

Social media and electronic government (E-government) role during Covid-19 pandemic in Malaysia

First Covid-19 case detected in Malaysia after three individuals had a close contact with one individual in Singapore. They had their trip into Malaysia from Singapore on January 24th 2020 and tested positive on January 25th 2020. After that, on the February 4th 2020, the very first Malaysian was tested positive Covid-19 after he returned from Singapore and started to cough and had fever.
During the pandemic time, the Ministry of Health of Malaysia take advantages of social media to educate and spread the awareness to the public about the Covid-19 precautions. On 18th March 2020 until 18th April 2020, the Malaysia Government implemented Movement Control Order (MCO) to control the Covid-19 from widespread.
During the entire period of Covid-19, social media accounts for example like X (previously known as Twitter) and WeChat were used to share the updates about preventive measure and healthcare. After Tan Sri Muhyiddin implemented MCO, the media started to actively using the #stayhome hashtag to spread the awareness. The government of Malaysia come up with enough latest information to the public via the Official Portal of the Ministry of Health Malaysia, verified Facebook page named Kementerian Kesihatan Malaysia posted about the Crisis Preparedness and Response Center (CRPC) and Telegram channel named CPRC KKM.
The Malaysia government also launched one application that can only used on mobile named MySejahtera in April 20202 to help all the users to keep track of their health progress, helping the authorities to collect the latest information, check in location and come up with the most essential and fast reply.

Now, if you ask me, i would definitely say yes. I do agree that social media is useful in spreading information on Covid-19 because through social media is the way that Ministry of Health Malaysia can reach out to the people since gathering is not allowed during the MCO period. People will depend on social media to stay connected with their family or friend and also to get the latest update regarding to health issues.
