My Yakuza Man
Translations may not always capture the exact nuances or tone of the original text. Expect grammatical errors and inaccuracies.
One night, after missing the last train due to overtime, I chose a different route home and found myself frozen on a pedestrian bridge.
Nobunaga: "To think I'd run into the likes of you in a place like this."
Ahead, a group of men dressed in black stood at the top of the stairs, glaring at each other.
Shingen: "Pretty weird coincidence, isn’t it? Though, I would’ve preferred meeting a lovely lady rather than a bunch of scruffy men."
Kenshin: "Stop talking nonsense."
Kenshin: "It's not just the executives; even the leaders of the clans are here. This is a perfect chance for a fight."
Masamune: "The same goes for us in the Azuchi clan."
Mitsuhide: "Yeah. Shingen and Kenshin of the Kasugayama Clan. And Kennyo, who's rising as a third power."
Mitsuhide: "Plus, we have the arms dealer Kicho and Motonari. Quite a gathering, I must say."
Kennyo: "The location isn't ideal, but it looks like there's no avoiding a fight."
Motonari: "Ha! If we're going to do this, let's do it with a bang."
Kicho: "Seems there's no escaping a clash."
(Are those swords they're holding? Are they filming a scene?)
(There's no one around right now, but…)
Mai: "Ah!"
I backed away and lost my footing on the stairs.
???: "Whoa!"
A strong arm reached out and caught me from behind.
Keiji: "You alright, miss?"
Mai: "Y-Yes."
Keiji: "If you stay on the edge like that, you might fall again. Come here."
The man who helped me smiled brightly and guided my confused self to the center of the pedestrian bridge.
Keiji: "You're lucky I'm here, huh?"
Hideyoshi: "You’re late."
Kanetsugu: "If anything, this woman is unlucky for ending up in a situation like this."
Keiji: "Hey, don't be like that! We'd all feel bad if an innocent woman got hurt because of us, right?"
Sasuke: "You have a point."
Ranmaru: "True!"
Mai: "Um, excuse me."
Mai: "Are you guys civilians?"
They looked at me with blank expressions.
Mitsuhide: "Oh? Do we look like ordinary citizens to you?"
(Ugh, now that I look closer, they're all pretty handsome but have an intimidating vibe.)
Ieyasu: "If you think we're just regular, law-abiding citizens, then you're seriously off the mark and not paying attention to the danger around you."
Mai: "So, in other words, you're not ordinary, law-abiding citizens?"
Mitsunari: "Yes. That's how it is."
(He's the kindest-looking one, and he confirmed it!)
Kenshin: "Ridiculous. Woman, get back. You're in the way."
Hideyoshi: "Lord Nobunaga, please step back!"
Nobunaga: "I'll leave it to you, Hideyoshi."
The man called Nobunaga was about to strike, but Hideyoshi unsheathed his sword and blocked the blow.
Yukimura: "Hey, you! You're gonna get hurt!"
(What am I supposed to do with that warning!?)
Keiji: "Don't panic, princess."
Keiji: "We need you to stay here until we're done, okay? We need a witness."
With a sharp breath, he thrust a spear from behind me.
I was startled, but the tip of the spear was stopped by a man standing in its path.
Yoshimoto: "Good grief."
The spear's sharp trajectory was expertly deflected by an iron fan.
Yoshimoto: "Keiji, you're a scary man."
Keiji: "I’ll probably lose to you, for sure."
Despite their gentle, almost otherworldly voice and bright smiles, the two men kept fighting.
(These two are really scary!)
Motonari: "An opening!"
At that moment, a crack suddenly appeared in the concrete beneath my feet.
I cautiously peeked down and saw a bullet lodged in it, making my blood run cold.
(There's no sound, though. A silencer?)
(But the power behind that shot—wait, this isn't fake!)
Ranmaru: "Geez, that was close."
The young man who avoided the gunshot jumped up onto the railing.
However, his slender body seemed to wobble for a second.
(Watch out!)
Instinctively, I forgot my fear and jumped toward him.
Ranmaru: "Whoa!?"
I pulled him with all my strength, and we both rolled to the ground.
Mai: "Are you okay!?"
Ranmaru: "Y-Yeah."
Mai: "Thank goodness."
Kenshin: "What are you doing?"
Mai: "I should be the one asking you that! What the hell are you all doing!?"
Mai: "You have to value your lives!"
A wave of relief hit me, followed by intense anger.
Seeing them stop their fight in shock, I came back to my senses.
(I yelled without thinking.)
(But I don't think I said anything wrong.)
Kennyo: "This young lady has a point."
Mai: "-----!"
Kennyo: "If we continue fighting in a place like this, we might end up involving others."
With those words, the others started nodding in agreement.
Kicho: "I agree. We've gotten a bit too carried away; perhaps we should save this for another time."
Motonari: "Tch, guess the moment's ruined."
Mitsuhide: "Value your lives, huh?"
Mitsuhide: "To bring up such a normal principle in this situation is interesting."
Yukimura: "It's so normal that it actually makes her stand out."
(Wait, am I being teased? Or are they just exasperated?)
Nobunaga: "You're an amusing woman. I like you."
Nobunaga: "How about becoming the woman of the Azuchi Clan?"
Mai: "What?!"
Everyone: "----!"
Mai: "N-No, thank you!"
Masamune: "Now, now, hold on."
(Ah!)
The man with an eye patch casually lifted something from my chest.
(My employee ID! I forgot I still had it on!)
Masamune: "Mai, huh? Cute name."
Mai: "G-Give it back!"
Masamune: "Nah, don't feel like it."
Mitsuhide: "Not only are you a witness to tonight's events, but you've caught Lord Nobunaga's interest."
Mitsuhide: "We can't just let you go."
Hideyoshi: "You guys, take it easy on her. Hey, are you hurt anywhere?"
Hideyoshi: "We owe you for helping Ranmaru. We'll have to thank you properly later."
Ieyasu: "You're way too reckless. Are you an idiot? I've never seen anyone like you."
Mitsunari: "Indeed. Your brave actions really moved me. I want to know more about you."
Ranmaru: "Thanks for saving me earlier, miss! I was so surprised."
Mai: "U-Um."
Keiji: "Haha, you've become quite popular! I'm feeling a little jealous."
Shingen: "You're a brave and kind-hearted young lady. It must have been fate that we met tonight."
Kenshin: "Hey, woman. Mai, was it? I'll remember you."
Sasuke: "Lord Kenshin, you're scaring her. Sorry about my boss. Maybe I could apologize on his behalf sometime?"
Yukimura: "You're like a wild boar, huh? No offense."
Yoshimoto: "Indeed. The look on your face as you ran to protect him was beautiful—captivating, even."
Kanetsugu: "You're a reckless woman. You should've just ditched everything and run for your life. Are you a little pup who acts without thinking?"
Kennyo: "But that honest spirit of yours shines brightly to people like us."
Motonari: "Agreed. You're so pure and sweet that I almost feel like crushing you underfoot."
Kicho: "You poor thing. You're getting all the attention from these troublemakers. You've even got me curious now."
(This can't be happening.)
They spoke to me one after another, leaving me in shock.
Nobunaga: "Don't think you can escape, Mai."
Mai: "…..…"
I finally realized that these men, clearly part of the underworld, now knew my face, name, and workplace.
(What's going to happen to me now!?)

Ikesen Boys React to Tattooed MC pt 1
This was an ask from @otomedad that I just had to write. I did some reading up on the history of tattooing in Japan and there was so much that I found super interesting. So! Here goes, starting with Nobunaga, Hideyoshi, and Masamune! Approx. 1500 words.
Nobunaga
“What’s this, fireball?”
You feel Nobunaga’s breath tickle your shoulder blade, his lips so close they almost brush your skin. For a moment, you don’t know what he means. It’s hard to think when parts of you are being ‘claimed’, afterall. But you smile as the memory comes back to you. Sitting on a stool, arms braced on the counter in front of you, with the buzz of the tattoo gun in your ear. “You like my koi?”
His fingers brush the inked design, tracing the outline of the leaping fish. “It is very well done.” He does not sound pleased, though he’s trying to hide it.
“You don’t.” A slight pout draws your lips out and down.
Nobunaga stills behind you, so motionless that you don’t even feel him breathing. Just as you are about to break the silence, he wraps his arms around you, pulling your back against his chest. “It is part of you, so it is beautiful.” His chin rests on your shoulder, just above the tattoo in question. “Why did you receive this mark?”
There is an unexpected tension in his voice, and you laugh to ease it before explaining. “I got it after I graduated from design. It represents my struggles, and my determination.” You turn your head to kiss his cheek.
He regards you with a serious expression, tense despite your affection.
“Do you really hate it?” You can’t help how vulnerable you feel as you meet his carnelian gaze.
“I told you. It is beautiful, as you are. But . . .” He pauses, a slight grimace crossing his expression. “I do not like that someone marked you. Someone else claimed this -” He leans back to spread his hand over the koi. “Every part of you is mine.”
“Are you jealous of my tattoo artist?” You grin, unable to hold back. “You know I picked the design and the colors and everything, right? He was just some guy with a good flash book . . .”
Nobunaga’s frown does not ease, though you know that he’s aware this is ridiculous.
You snuggle back against him. “Alright, alright. I understand. If you could do tattoos, I’d get one from you, ok?”
Something mischievous flickers in his gaze and a slight smile turns up the corners of his mouth. “Yes. This is acceptable.”
You aren’t sure what he’s accepting. Nobunaga can’t do tattoos, right? Right? Whatever questions you have disappear as his lips find that sensitive spot at the back of your neck.
Hideyoshi
You roll up your sleeves to start working on the kitchen’s herb garden. The day is warm and sunny, promising a hot afternoon. It’s a good thing you’re starting early.
About an hour into the weeding, Hideyoshi stops by with a tray of cool water and a wide straw hat. He kneels beside you. “You know it’s bad for your skin to be exposed to sunlight for so long. Even in the morning, you can’t -” He stops midword, his mouth hanging open.
“Hm?” You look up, dusting your hands off. Before you can ask anything else, Hideyoshi grabs your elbow.
“What is this?”
You realize he’s pointing at the serpent tattoo on your forearm. The snake curls over itself in a complex circle, with the head pointing at your wrist and the tale toward your elbow. “Oh! Erm,” you give an embarrassed laugh. “That.”
“I knew you couldn’t be trusted.” Hideyoshi holds your arm up, inspecting it. “A thief. I should have guessed. What prefecture is this? Where are you really from?” The questions come lightning fast, his usual gentle lecturing tone replaced with a hard, brittleness that does not suit him at all.
“A thief? Are you serious right now?” You try to yank your arm back, going from bewildered to angry.
Hideyoshi pulls you up to standing. “If you won’t answer my questions, maybe you’ll answer Mitsuhide’s.” He glares at you. “I can’t believe I - I called you my sister!”
You take a breath, trying to hold in the tears suddenly threatening at the corners of your eyes. Sister. Why was this man so infuriating? First putting you in the sis-zone, and now accusing you. As if you hadn’t shared so many sweet moments. Almost-kisses. Holding hands. “Why are you freaking out about my tattoo?”
“It marks you as a criminal.” He sighs, looking away. “If you’ll come clean with me, maybe we can -”
“Come clean? Hideyoshi, I told you I’m not from here. In my ah, my village, people get tattoos because they like the way they look.” You wiggle your arm in his grasp. “This one means the cycle of life. Birth and death. Look at it!”
Hideyoshi slowly turns back to examine the mark on your arm. “It is . . . very finely done for a - a punishment.” He purses his lips. “And I do not know of a prefecture that uses a snake . . .”
You nod emphatically. “Exactly. And you know me. Hideyoshi?” Your tone brings his gaze to your face.
He studies you for a moment. Then his grip loosens on your arm, the pad of his thumb stroking your inked flesh. “I may have, um, jumped to conclusions. My apologies.” A breath, then, “Sis.”
“Thanks.” You take your arm back, feelings still hurt.
For a long moment, neither of you says anything. Then he drapes an arm over your shoulder, pulling you to his side. “Let me apologize properly, after work tonight. Stop by after your bath and I’ll rub some oil on your arms and legs.” Hideyoshi’s cheeks hold a faint heat. “A brother should care for his sister when she’s working so hard.”
You know he knows there’s nothing brotherly in the touches you share, but you nod in acquiescence. Then you pull away. “The garden won’t weed itself,” you say.
He grins. “I suppose not.” Hideyoshi’s hand takes yours before you can take a step. “It’s nice. Your tattoo. Once I really looked at it.”
“Thanks,” you smile back, feeling a little better. “I’m looking forward to my massage tonight.” You give him a cheeky wink.
Masamune
You splash to the river’s surface, sputtering from the water in your mouth and nose. Masamune laughs beside you, his strong arm holding you up above the roiling surface of the water as the current pushes you both downstream.
“Maybe next time we should look for a bridge,” you shout to be heard over the river.
“Nah. Where’s the fun in that?” Masamune’s blue eye gleams with unfettered joy as he pulls you toward the opposite shore.
Once you hit the bank and crawl out, you flop back onto the grassy hillside. “Fun? Not drowning is fun. And now I’m soaked.” You glance over to see Masamune already stripping down, laying his clothes out to dry.
He grins when he sees your expression. “What’s the matter, kitten? Tiger got your tongue?”
“Pffft.” You sit up, ignoring the way your face heats. You shrug out of your kimono, very aware of how thin your linen underclothes are. Especially now that they are wet and clinging to your skin.
Masamune’s appreciative look does not help. He grins unapologetically. “I should come out this way more often. Great view.”
You throw a clump of grass at him and jump up to run. He chases you, laughing, and catches you pretty quickly.
His laughter stops with a sharp inhale. “Are you hurt?”
You realize that he’s noticed the ink on your side, a tiger in the midst of peonies. The red, pink, and orange probably look like a wound beneath the opaque cloth. “No, nothing like that.” You carefully tug the linen up to show him your tattoo.
“Wow.” His eye is wide as he takes in the art piece. “Gorgeous.” His calloused finger brushes the skin on your side, sending a shiver across your belly and up your ribcage. “It’s like a painting.”
“Thanks.” You feel more than a little self conscious, but also gratified by his reaction. “It’s supposed to be, like, fragility and strength? Together?” You find yourself a little tongue tied, too focused on his warm hand touching you.
Masamune finally looks up, catching your gaze. “It fits you, kitten. Strong and fragile.” His expression is more serious than you’re used to. A deeper emotion moves in the depths of his blue eye.
The urge to kiss him is strong, but you resist. You tug the cloth back down and step away, heart beating frantically. Masamune likes to flirt, you think, that’s all. You wrack your brain for a witty comment and come up empty.
He smiles, drops his hands. “Our clothes should dry out soon, and then we can continue on.”
“The temple better be awesome. You’ve talked it up too much to take anything less than.” Your destination is safer ground, you think, jumping right into the new topic.
Masamune laughs. “There’s not another like it anywhere.” Something about the way he says it makes you wonder if he means the temple you’re traveling to or something else.
“Worth the trip then?”
He catches a bit of your damp hair and twirls it around a finger. “I’d say this trip is already worth it.”

Hello! I love your headcanons!
Can you do hcs
Where the warlords make their baby cry (you can pick the gender!)? Like they accidentally gave the baby a scare while playing with them or maybe while disciplining them?
I saw the rules and you say 5 warlords at max
So I'll just pick my top favourite qwq
Mitsuhide, Kenshin, Kanetsugu, Nobunaga and......uhhhh Ieyasu!
Thank you so much!
This is so adorable! Thank you for the request!
Warlords accidentally make their babies cry.
Oda forces.
Nobunaga Oda.
Nobunaga isn’t really used to taking care of children, but he makes an effort to be more gentle and kind when you both have a baby girl. His voice is naturally deep, and it seems impossible to make it softer than it is, but surprisingly the baby seems to feel calm when he speaks.
The problem is when he uses his commanding voice, it happened during a war council when he decided to look after your daughter. The moment he spoke in a commanding tone, the began crying, which made him panic mid council. Took sometime for him to be able to calm the baby with his softer voice. You needed to come to the council comfort the baby before Nobunaga offered her Konpeito.
Mitsuhide akechi.
So, mitsuhide can be a bit frightening with that fox like smirk and deep voice, but he could school his face to seem softer for the baby girl. Naturally it wasn’t that hard for him to change his expressions into the one he wants. But the moment he decided to tease hideyoshi while smirking, he felt his daughter whimpering in his arms.
That made both him and hideyoshi panic to calm her down and make her laugh, which made mitsuhide’s attempt to tease loose its effect. Eventually Mitsuhide would give the baby back to you, feeling like he needed to improve as a father.
Ieyasu Tokugawa.
Ieyasu is terrible with children, but he would make an effort to learn when you both had a baby boy. He would need to learn how to speak more softly, how to be less sarcastic and so on. Well, it was his turn to watch over the baby, but he had to work.
Your baby is only learning how to crawl, so he keeps an eye on him while working. The problem is, he notices the baby messing with some herbs and naturally panics, which made him take it from the baby immediately while saying “don’t touch that!”. It was out of concern, but it obviously made the baby cry, which made Ieyasu pull him for a hug and try and comfort him. You would find them both cuddling.
Uesugi-Takeda alliance.
Kenshin Uesugi.
Kenshin is intimidating to everyone who meets him, yet he is the softest with you and your baby girl. His daughter is so small and seems so unafraid of him that he promised himself that he would never let her see his more intimidating side. The problem is, a situation comes up that forces him to scold his soldiers while taking care of his daughter, and his sharp glare and threatening tone makes her cry.
Kenshin immediately looses his posture and tries making his daughter smile, though it required your help eventually and the bunnies to calm the baby down.
Kanetsugu.
Kanetsugu has a resting face that naturally scares people, mostly because of how serious and intimidating he is, he does take a bit of it after his lord. When you both have a baby boy together, he does try to soften his expressions, though it seemed hard for him to change this aspect. It didn’t seem like his son minded it much though, he was always calm or giggling at kanetsugu, which seemed to catch his father off guard.
When he was scolding some vassals on their poor job and how they needed to improve to be able to serve lord kenshin well, the baby began whimpering because of how scary he looked. However, Kanetsugu didn’t panic, but calmly changed his tone to a more calm one to calm the baby down. With how calmly he handled it, you were very impressed with his ability to handle situations like this.

little excerpt from the current ikesen JP collection event:
Everyone’s attention was immediately drawn to an adorable little girl standing before the entrance.
Sasuke: …Who is that child, Hideyoshi?
Kanetsugu: His daughter?
Keiji: You didn’t tell me you had a secret love child, Hideyoshi!
Hideyoshi: Of course I don’t!
Yoshimoto: Then, whose child is this?
Girl: Huh?
The girl, who had been turning her head this way and that to look at everyone, tilted her head to the side in confusion.
At that moment, Ranmaru appeared to come to a sudden realization, and haltingly voiced a question.
Ranmaru: …Hey. Doesn’t that kid kind of look like Lady Mai?
Keiji & Sasuke: Eh?
Mitsuhide: An excellent observation, Ranmaru. However, this is not Mai’s daughter.
Hideyoshi: Hey there. Now that everyone is here, can you say your name and how old you are again?
Hideyoshi knelt to speak kindly to the girl, who nodded enthusiastically as she grinned.
Mai: I’m Mai! I’m four!
Everyone: !?

This request came in via DM from @vegecatto. Thank you for the request! I had a lot of fun writing this one! Especialy since you picked my faves! So glad we share some faves haha!
It is my final request in my 400 follower celebration (there are a couple of anon requests that weren't fully in line with the rules of this event, but I will answer them separately from this event later).
400 Follower Celebration
Smut prompt: Suitor reacts to mc/reader teasing them in public
Suitors: ikesen Motonari, Nobunaga, & Shingen
NSFW 18+ content (though not explicit really, more suggestive)
Motonari
Motonari was always teasing you and making you go red-faced. It never mattered to him where you were or who was around. He LOVED getting a reaction out of you. You always protested it, but you both knew you loved it, you would just never admit it aloud. Just once though, you wanted him to know how it felt. You wanted to give him a taste of his own medicine. So you devised a plan.
You go out with Motonari on a date in the next port you arrive in. All dolled up in a special dress from the west you had picked up on your travels (and modified). The dress was much more revealing than your usual kimono. Showing off cleavage, a bit of leg, and more of your arms.
“What d’ya think yer wearin’?” He asks, his red eyes wide.
“Just that pretty dress you bought for me.” You answer with a grin as you move to lace your fingers with his gloved ones. “Now come on pirate boy, show me around town. We’ve got lots to see.”
As you two walk around the town, you decide to be a bit more flirty and handsy with Motonari, as he usually is with you. While looking through the shops of the port town, you casually brush against him. Even pinch his ass a time or two. You find reasons to bend over low in front of him. You watch him grow increasingly more frustrated as your day goes on, but he’s a stubborn one. He knew what you were up to the moment you stepped off the ship in that revealing dress. He’s doing his best not to give in.
While sitting at a tea house together, though Motonari is eating and drinking nothing, you can’t help but to try to fluster your handsome pirate again. As you sit beside him, you reach a hand over to his thigh, fingertips tracing lazy patterns up his leg, getting ever closer to what appears to be a growing bulge, though staying just shy of it.
Motonari’s cheeks are red and he lets out a groan. “That’s it. I can’t take yer teasin’ anymore.”
The next thing you know, he’s leaving money on the table and then picking you up and throwing you over his shoulder. He carries you to the closest inn and gets a room where he throws you down on the bed and quickly climbs atop you. “I’m gonna pay ya back fer all o’ that, flower girl. You better be prepared to handle the consequences of yer actions.”
You grin as he kisses you and roughly begins removing your clothes. This is exactly where you wanted to be…and you enjoy the “consequences” as Motonari teases you and pounds you into the mattress.
Nobunaga
Nobunaga is never afraid to say whatever is on his mind. It doesn’t matter to him who is around or if you are in the middle of the council or a banquet. He will keep you close during those times and he will give you little teasing touches. It usually results in some jokes and comments…mostly from Masamune and Mitsuhide…and the awkward cough and light reprimand from Hideyoshi.
You decide that Nobunaga needs to learn what it’s like for you when this happens. So, you make it your mission to make his face red in the middle of a banquet. You always sit next to him. It makes it easier for him to tease you, but tonight, YOU will be doing the teasing. You offer to refill his cup, making sure that you find ways to brush against him as you do.
You “drop” things as an excuse to bend over in front of him and find many reasons to give him teasing touches.
“You’re being rather bold tonight.” Nobunaga tells you, an amused smile on his face.
You feign innocence. “I’ve no idea what you’re talking about.”
Nobunaga chuckles. He is clearly enjoying this and can’t wait to see how far you’ll take it. He can’t wait to see what you’ll do next.
You decide to up the ante a bit and lean your head against him as you sip your sake. You pull the collar of your kimono open slightly and start fanning yourself. “It’s a bit warm tonight.” You say.
Nobunaga’s eyes are on you. He pauses with his sake cup held midway between his tray and his lips. “You have taken this too far.” He murmurs before putting his cup down. “It is time we bid you all goodnight.” He declares to the room as he stands up, taking your hand and pulling you up with him.
Whistles and laughter from the others follow you as Nobunaga makes a hasty exit with you. He pulls you into a secluded hallway, your shared room being too far of a distance as far as he is concerned, and pushes you against a wall.
“My lucky charm has decided to test me greatly.” He says before diving in and capturing your lips. His hands work their way under your clothes, fingers reminding you who claimed your body and heart so long ago. He takes you right there in the hall against the wall three times before you two make it back to your room, where he spends the night teasing you and making you writhe in pleasure.
Shingen
Shingen is always so affectionate with you. Giving you sweet kisses and caresses, holding your hand. He finds excuses to touch you. Tucking a stray strand of hair behind your ear. Wiping some sweet syrup off of your cheek while you two are enjoying a snack. Though he never really takes it too far and you really can’t complain about his affection. But there is a part of you that wants to drive him absolutely wild. You want to see what limits you can push with him. So you decide to experiment.
First you start by popping in with the maids during councils Shingen is attending. You insist on serving him the meals, making sure your hand brushes his. You wear your kimono in a slightly loosened way so that when you kneel down to place the tray in front of him, the collar opens a bit, exposing your cleavage. You give him a coy smile before walking away.
After his councils have concluded, there is a banquet and you happily attend it with him. As soon as you walk in you make your way over to Shingen and plop down in his lap. His gray eyes widen a moment, but he smiles warmly at you, wrapping his arms around you.
“My goddess is feeling bold tonight.” He says before kissing you on the forehead.
Yukimura is grumbling and red-faced just watching the two of you.
During the banquet, you stay in Shingen’s lap, making sure you wiggle a little bit more than you normally would. You touch him more, a hand on his arm or chest, nuzzling against his neck… tucking his hair behind his ear as he does to you. Shingen is eating it up! He is LOVING this SO MUCH.
Though he does eventually reach his limit when you lift the hem of your kimono up slightly, revealing more of your legs than normal. He scoops you up into his arms and stands effortlessly. “Goodnight everyone and enjoy the banquet.” He declares as he carries you out and to your room.
Once there, he is sitting down and holding you in his lap once again. Though he turns you to face him so that you are straddling him. He lifts a hand to caress your cheek. “Have I not been paying enough attention to you, my goddess?” He asks just before capturing your lips with his. He spends the rest of the evening giving you ALL of his attention by paying special attention to every sensitive place of your body and making you cry out in pure ecstasy.

And may I also request touches #2 with Mitsuhide? I love doting on that man so much!!
Thank you for this request - sorry it took me so long to get to 🥺
Blue Christmas - Mitsuhide Akechi x Reader (ikemen Sengoku)
A/N: Day 4 of my Twelve Days of Christmas. Also part of my New Year, New Celebration follower celebration.
Pairing: Mitsuhide Akechi x Reader
Prompt: running fingers through hair
Word Count: 562
Tags: fluff
It was a cold and blustery day in December as you strolled through the streets of Azuchi. Your hands were filled with bags brimming with gifts for all your friends, including an extra special one for Mitsuhide -- a small porcelain mouse.
Christmas was one of your favorite holidays – the lights and the trees and the family dinner of fried chicken were just some of the things that made this holiday so special to you. You had thought this year would be bittersweet, as it was your first away from home, but it had been anything but so far. Christmas might not have come to Japan yet, but there was nothing stopping you from bringing the spirit of the holidays here.
You had planned to sneak out that afternoon under the ruse of needing to go to the markets in search of new fabric – it was the perfect excuse to go shopping alone to get everyone’s gifts.
And then you ran into Mitsuhide.
“Where’s this little mouse running off to this early?”
Close. So close to freedom.
After you informed him that you were going to the market to pick up some new fabrics, you were shocked when he asked if he could join you. Of course you said yes – who would say no to their boyfriend – but now you were in the unenviable position of trying to evade the kitsune somewhere in the market as you purchased the presents.
As it turned out, Mitsuhide was meeting someone in the markets, so it was easy for you to shop in secret. After spending an inordinate amount of time perusing various shops to find the perfect gifts – down to Nobunaga’s favorite konpeito, sorry Hideyoshi – it was finally time to return home to the castle.
One moment you were hurrying through the streets of the markets in Azuchi, and the next, you were lying flat on the ground. Cheeks warm with embarrassment, you sighed, your bags lying scattered on the ground around you. Your only saving grace was that no one you knew witnessed your fall.
Or so you thought.
Your stomach twisted in knots as you looked up into the crowd and spotted a familiar head of silver-white hair, suppressing a groan as he approached.
“Little mouse,” he said, offering you his hand in assistance. You slipped your hand in his; he easily pulled you up to a standing position. His eyes flickered over your figure, assessing any injuries. He reached out a hand, tucking a stray lock of hair behind your ear. His hand lingered, his fingers grazing your still heated cheeks, his touch comforting.
“You really do need to watch yourself,” he chided, his eyes fixed on a patch of ice on the ground. “It certainly would have been a blue Christmas if you had hurt yourself.”
You turned to him, your eyes wide with awe. How did he know about Christmas? You hadn’t said a word about it as you were waiting until the 25th to surprise everyone. So who told him?
He gazed at you knowingly, his golden eyes twinkling like familiar Christmas lights. He huffed a small laugh, and as if he was reading your mind, he pulled you close to him in a warm embrace, his fingers running through your hair as he held your face close to his heart.
“Lucky for you, I was here to help.”

The Warlords- Dad Headcanon: Hideyoshi
Hideyoshi my beloved <3 The man deserves a vacation into my arms or at least a decent lunchbreak, >Girl dad like Shingen, but "cursed". >5 daughters, all somehow seeming to take after their uncle Mitsuhide in one way or another, at least in Hideyoshi's mind. >Wouldn't trade them for all the sons in the world though. >Professional at playing pretty princess dress up. >Starts fighting off and worrying about boys at a young age. Sees his 4 year old daughter holding lets sayyyy little Nobunaga Oda Jrs hand in the castle gardens and nearly decides to switch sides just to get away from them. >Such a bragging parent. “well myyy daughter managed to hide the sweets this week and it took lord nobunaga double his usual time to find them.” >Meanwhile, the only reason Nobunaga found them was because one of Hideyoshi's daughter's is a master negotiator. >They suckered Nobunaga for some ponies in exchange of goods. >Thrives for his father daughter dates. He makes sure to do something special with each of them individually every week, even if it's something as simple as fixing her hair while sitting outside as they talk. >Takes all 5 on monthly father daughter outings to the local tea house. >Wants his daughters to stay as far away from war and fighting as possible so struggles when they start becoming interested in what he does. >Ropes Ieyasu into teaching them archery as a distraction and some basic protection skills. ".... Two horses, a new set of Kimonos, and a kitten." The little girl looked up at her father innocently. "That's all I asked for this time!" She sips her tea.
Hideyoshi sighs, rubbing his temples."Girls, you can't just say no to Lord Nobunaga and try and negotiate things with him! He's our Lord! Its not nice."
"But dad! You say no to him all the time! We were just trying to help!" his oldest daughter chimes in, the other 3 nodding their heads eagerly."He was trying to get into the candy again! So we hid it!"
"And instead of telling me so I can stop him you blackmailed him?!" Hideyoshi looks at them incredulously. "What in your right mind possessed you to do that?"
"Uncle Mitsuhide said to make every moment an opportunity! He thought it was a good idea and even helped by showing us a good hiding spot!"
Hideyoshi sighs, running his hands through his hair anxiously. "Of course he did." He groans, but he can't help but let a small smile slip onto his face as his girls giggle around him... "

An Evening Snack
I started this fic for @lorei-writes and @wordycheeseblob wish upon an aide event with the passion prompt but I stalled half way through and just finished it recently. It's also different from the others I did for the event and not exactly what I wanted but close enough. I'm still not as comfortable with Ikesen yet but I'm getting there so it was good practice. Kyubei and Chimaki 'talk' about Mitsuhide and Mai over a snack. Pure fluff WC approx 865.
It was late at night and as always Kyubei was taking one last walk around the manor ensuring it was secure before retiring to his room for the day. As he completed the familiar routine he came to a pause at the entrance.
Is that-?
Hmm?
Is what what?
…No, it's nothing.
In truth Kyubei wasn't all that surprised to see the hairpin adorning Lady Mai's hair, in fact he had been praying he was right. Kyubei continued on his rounds, unaware he had started humming to himself until he reached his final stop at the gardens. In this spot too he found himself pausing and remembering the events of the day.
I was the one who delivered it to Lord Mitsuhide while he was imprisoned.
What?
I asked if he needed anything before he left. He said there was only one thing he absolutely had to get…I believe it was his intent to give it to you upon your return to Azuchi.
“Even though I had just been in the dungeons my heart was uplifted as soon as I saw that hairpin, and knowing that was the most important thing to him at that moment…”
Kyubei let out a long breath and was about to head back into the manor when he heard rustling in a nearby bush.
“Chimaki, have you come to visit again already? I'm afraid I have to inform you that neither the Lord or future Lady of the manor are at home right now.”
Chimaki’s tail flicked at Kyubei’s words.
“Lady of the manor.”
Sighing, Kyubei sat down on the steps and looked up into the night sky.
“My lord has always been alone in the shadows, never concerned with the consequences of the way he's chosen to live his life but now…Now he has finally found someone.”
Chimaki moved slightly towards Kyubei and sat down, looking up at him with big eyes. He laughed knowing what that meant and began to rummage around in his pocket finally pulling out a hand towel that held some rice balls.
“Is this what you're looking for?”
Chimaki let out a small chatter and her tail swished elegantly around her.
“Hehe I thought so, guess I know you pretty well now.”
Kyubei tossed one of the rice balls to Chimaki and she began to eat.
“I like to think I know Lord Mitsuhide well too, I've served him a long time after all. He’s always been passionate about the things he does, giving everything of himself in the process. So much so he doesn't even usually bother to take care of himself beyond the bare minimum. Now there is finally something he truly wants for himself, that makes him happy and is a better use for all his passion.”
Kyubei bit into his own rice ball.
“At first I wondered, just what it was he was planning with her. Never expected that it would be this, though I doubt he expected it either.”
Kyubei let out a soft chuckle and turned his attention up to the stars again.
“I worried about him, his way of life was going to end up killing him one way or another. I don't think he will be in such a hurry to sacrifice himself anymore. Did you know Chimaki, he has already declared his intent to marry her to Lord Nobunaga and Lord Hideyoshi?”
Chimaki looked up from her rice ball and blinked at Kyubei.
“I swear it's true, of course at the time he was using it as cover to keep his other deeds undiscovered or so he said anyways but as I said I know Lord Mitsuhide well.”
Kyubei gave Chimaki a cheeky smile and she seemed to smile back at him.
“His passion and kindness always come through in the end, you just need to know what to look for. I suspect Lady Mai has figured that out as well by now.”
The smile left Kyubeis face replaced by a worried frown.
“She is perfect for him, and the only one who is capable of saving Lord Mitsuhide from himself. I hate that she has to carry such a heavy burden alone…”
Kyubei sat silent for a moment then tossed his barely touched rice ball to Chimaki.
“He's so close, she's right there and all he needs to do is not let go of her.”
Kyubei sighed as he ran a hand through his hair. He closed his eyes and sat in silence for a long moment as Chimaki watched him curiously. Finally he let out another sigh before standing.
“She's survived him this long. All I need to do is have faith, right Chimaki?”
Chimaki stood stretching her front legs and letting out a small raspy bark.
“Exactly, it will all work out.”
Kyubei gave a small nod to Chimaki before he walked away. Chimaki watched and waited until Kyubei was gone and then she laughed while shaking her head.
Of course it will all work out silly man!
A sadly sweet smile flashed across Chimaki's face brought on by something she left unspoken.
We kitsune take care of our own after all, even if this one does happen to be human.

Caught
When you and some of the IkeSen boys get caught being cute ft. Mitsuhide, Ieyasu, Motonari, Kanetsugu
Mitsuhide:
It was early one summer morning when Mitsuhide had woken (Y/ n), though they had no business that day the rest of the Oda forces would be coming over for breakfast and lunch to check out the new garden Mitsuhide had put in as an anniversary gift for his sweet fiancé. They still had a little time before the rest of the group showed up, so Mitsuhide had decided to take his time with brushing her hair, he's done it many mornings especially on days where there was no rush or an absolute rush. He could only quietly chuckle at her sleepy expression in the mirror, eyes softly shut as she tried not to fall asleep as his fingers moved through her hair with the comb he'd run through each section. "You can rest your eyes if you'd like little mouse~ We still have some time before we have to meet the others out in the garden, so I can pick your outfit if you'd like to get a few minutes of sleep." He watched her (E/c) eyes peak open in the mirror, glancing up at him a moment before a sweet smile spread on her cheeks. "No that's fine, you've been doing a lot for me, and I like spending the mornings with you." She smiled and leaned back against him a moment, her head resting on his shoulder as his arms came down to wrap around her waist. "What can I say? You look so adorable when I spoil you little mouse." Mitsuhide pressed a kiss to the side of her head, nuzzling the spot as he closed his own golden orbs to relax with her for a moment in the warm morning air. Neither noticed the various pairs of eyes that watched from a crack in the door that led to the garden, the group had arrived early and had approached the door to give their greetings when the noticed the couple had yet to fully stir. They took the rare opportunity, Hideyoshi especially, as they had always been curious how he treated her behind closed doors. It was no secret that their princess adored the kitsune like male, she would fist fight someone for that man. (Something they got to witness firsthand; the only thing more surprising was how unsurprised Ranmaru was as he cheered for her to whoop their ass.)
Granted Hideyoshi was just a worry wart, he had always wanted to see some sort of physical proof that Mitsuhide's love ran just as deep as (Y/n)'s. So, to witness this quiet moment of peace between the two, seeing the care he took when brushing her hair and peppering kisses across her neck and cheeks. The look on his face was one no one in the Oda forces had ever seen, it was like spotting a white peacock amongst a vibrant forest. The group moved away from the door to give the couple their privacy, waiting til they were sat amongst the picnic set up to discuss what they witnessed. "Told ya he was mad for her Hideyoshi; I've seen this man lose control because her life was in danger. Nothing stirs that beast, the way she does." Masamune chuckled as he sipped on some tea the servants brought out, Nobunaga could only chuckle as he had heard Hideyoshi complain many times about various aspects of the silver fox. "It is comforting, don't get me wrong I know Mitsuhide loves (Y/n) but her devotion is absolute. So, it's nice to see the love she has for him mirrored." Hideyoshi chuckled with a relieved smile, the group watching as a white fox slipped into the garden and made its way up onto the porch. It stopped near the crack in the door, giving some soft chirps before it squeezed its way through. They of course knew Mitsuhide had Chiamaki, she would often lounge about the garden when they'd come by to deliver messages and the like. It was only a few more minutes before the couple came out, (Y/n) carrying Chiamaki carefully in her arms. They like the others were in their regular wear, comfortable and ready to enjoy some food and each other's company. "Good morning, everyone, I hope we didn't keep you waiting." Mitsuhide had stepped off the porch first, careful when helping her down, keeping a hand on her lower back as he led her to an open spot between Ranmaru and Masamune. "We haven't been here long so no worries, so what do you think of the new garden Lady (Y/n)?" Ranmaru smiled to his dear friend, watching her giggle as she sat Chiamaki between herself and Mitsuhide, the latter of which giving the little fox some head scratches. "I love it, I really wasn't expecting to come back from the hot spring vacation to find a whole new garden." Though she was still waking up, her happy energy had everyone laughing. They were surprised at first too, but after today they likely could never be surprised by his love for her again.
Ieyasu:
(Y/n) smiled as she and Ieyasu approached the closed doors of the main hall, a war council had been called while they were in town. Something they had been alerted about upon arriving back to the castle, before going inside the young woman tugged his hand to stop her blonde lover so he hadn't touched the door yet. Of course he stopped, turning to look at her as he quirked an eyebrow silently. With a grin the young woman glanced around before holding up a finger she beckoned him to lean down. It was out of sheer curiosity that the blonde did so, too distracted by his lover's antics to realize they were being watched through a crack in the door. He had leaned down to about her height when soft hands suddenly cupped his cheeks, pulling him further down as her warm lips pressed gently to his forehead. His face bursts a bright cherry red, staring at her with wide astonished eyes before they narrowed affectionately, and a soft smile stretched on his face. He chuckled a bit, pressing his forehead to hers, his lips opening to give her a playful scolding. At least until the doors to their left slammed open, the two were quick to jolt away from each other to try and pretend as if they weren't just flirting in the hallways. But the smirks on Mitsuhide and Masamune's faces told them that they had been caught, with NO room for excuses.
"So lad, when were you gonna tell us you had went and got all grown up on us?" Masamune chuckled, looking between the two startled lovers. Both of which wearing cherry red faces, looking guilty beyond all belief as the other warlords looked on at them with soft knowing grins. "I'm so glad to see you're having a good day Lord Ieyasu, you must have really enjoyed shopping with Lady (Y/n) today." Mitsunari spoke up, his angelic smile as innocent as always. (Y/n) almost wanted to laugh, but Ieyasu's eyeroll showed he was less than amused. "Yeah, I was having a good day there for a while." His eye twitched as Mitsuhide began chuckling, no doubt he wouldn't be letting the younger blonde live this down for a while. "Ieyasu, if you'd like a moment to come to terms with your need to part with (Y/n) for the duration of this war council you could always ask." Nobunaga called from his dais, watching the group with a wide grin. To (Y/n) he looked like a proud father, but to Ieyasu he looked ready to tease the hell out of the blonde at the next banquet. Likely later that night since Keiji came back from one of his most recent missions, hence why the war council was taking place. "Can we not do this right now, let's just get this council over with and hear what loudmouth has to say." Ieyasu glanced between Masamune and Mitsuhide, even if they had gone rather easy on him today, he was still done with it. "Come now, no need to be embarrassed. There's no shame in loving your woman." Mitsuhide spoke up, the other warlords returning to their seats as the couple passed the fox man on their way inside. "I'm starting to think you just want to fight." Ieyasu glared at Mitsuhide as the silver haired man made his way to the spot on Nobunaga's direct left. But before he could respond to his younger, Hideyoshi had spoken up. "Alright, knock it off Mitsuhide. We have some important information to discuss, so save it for the banquet." Hideyoshi couldn't help the way the corners of his mouth twitched up, making the blonde groan in irritation. But that had successfully brought the teasing to an end, after a good laugh the war council had started. But the twitch in Ieyasu's eyebrow had (Y/n) smiling to herself in thought over how easy it was to read him. Already knowing he was preparing for the torrent that would surely come his way at tonight's banquet, she'd have to make sure to enjoy some drinks with the show.
Motonari:
(Y/n) smiled in her spot next to Motonari, they had went to visit the Oda and were lucky enough to be there at the same time as Ieyasu and Masamune. Nobunaga had hosted a banquet so everyone could catch up. (Y/n) had made Motonari's food herself, knowing he wouldn't eat anyone else's coocking. When Masamune first noticed and questoned, the pirate claimed that her cooking was the best and he wouldn't have anything less. Something that had made her heart soar and caused the men in the room to chuckle at his flagrant affections. She had been pouring him drinks through the night, the sake had been sweeter than normal, and it made it easier for her to match him drink for drink without even noticing. Because of that she hadn't a clue as to when her cheeks had flushed, or her mind began to swim. She tilted her head some, smiling as she listened to her lover and Nobunaga discuss trade and foreign countries. Ever since they had begun this alliance the two had actually started to get along more and more with each meeting and drink. It made her happy, knowing the man she loved was getting along so well with her found family. Quietly moving forward, Motonari hadn't noticed her until she had curled her arm around his and pressed a bit closer. He did his best not to blush, glancing at her curiously as she leaned her head on his shoulder. But still he carried his conversation, ignoring the glances he got from the other warlords as they took notice to the affection. When Hideyoshi came to speak with Nobunaga the pirate turned to looked at her once more, his lips quirking up. "Someone's being bold, getting handsy in front of your friends?" He raised an eyebrow, watching her glassy eyes drift over as a sweet and lazy smile spread across her cute puffy face. "I can't help it, you're so smart it's cute." She giggled, a soft slur to her words though it was still easy to make out.
Motonari's face went blank with surprise, sure they had drunk their fill before but in those times her affection had been shyer and sweeter. But it seemed the energy of the party brought out her bolder side, as she didn't seem to care that her friends could see. "I am not cute, you're just drunk." He frowned, though it looked more like a pout, reaching up a gloved hand to playfully pinch her cheek. "Deny it all you want, but you won't fool me.~" She winked at him, her warm hand coming up to grasp his before she placed a kiss to his palm, batting her lashes at him as she gazed up into his eyes. A light pink came to the top of her cheeks, the dreamy look on her face making his chest feel flushed and heavy. "You need to drink something, here." He spoked quickly, murmuring as he reached for a glass and filled it with water. He was gentle in placing the cup in her hands, crimson eyes locked on her form as he made sure she didn't drop the glass. Despite his flustered state, he didn't try to move away from her. In fact, after she sat her cup down his arm had curled around her waist and pulled her further into his side. "You're not gonna be able to tell how cold you are when you're drunk like this, so stay close that way I can keep you warm." He looked off the side, swallowing down his glass of sake as he glared at Mitsuhide who watched the two with a teasing smirk. As if to spite him and prove he wasn't flustered he pulled her in his lap, staring Mitsuhide in the eye with a challenging smirk as she giggled at his sudden affection and leaned her head back on his shoulder. "See, told you. Cute." Motonari looked over at her, raising an eyebrow as he nipped at her ear. A giggling yelp escaped her as she leaned forward, her hands coming up to cover her ears as he held her tight around the waist. "I don't wanna hear it from you brat, now pick something to eat. With all the drinking you've been doing we need to get some more food in your stomach." He smirked at her, enjoying his playful revenge. He knew they were being watched, but at this point he couldn't bring himself to give a damn. If anything, he was establishing dominance, proving she was his and he'd be damned if anyone thought that would change.
Kanetsugu:
Today was delivery day for (Y/n) and so she had been out in town, running about the area to drop off her commissions. Some of the orders had consisted of multiple kimonos, because of this one of her seamstress friends had decided to help her. Meanwhile Kanetsugu had a half day when it came to work, he was meant to be in a nearby town doing a quick check of its status, but it had gone so smoothly that he had gotten back before noon. Deciding to take advantage of the good weather he had gone out into the castle garden to read a book, resting against a cherry blossom tree that sat beside a small koi pond. He didn't know where all his lover would have to go, since he had left before she officially got up for the day. So, he decided to wait for her return, already knowing she'd be tuckered out as she was with every delivery day. It was about an hour after lunch that (Y/n) returned to the castle, she had been on her way back to their shared room when she spotted her silver haired lover in the garden. With a tired smile she made her approach, something he noticed immediately as he seemed to look before her feet had even touched the ground. "That's the poetry book you got in town the other day, isn't it? How is it?" She approached him, watching him with a soft smile as he observed her. "Pretty good, it's mostly new poets so it's been rather interesting." Kanetsugu watched her approach, pulling her into his lap once she was close enough and chuckling to himself at the surprise yelp that escaped her. Though she quickly melted into him, folding her legs against his as she leaned into his chest. "Your feet must be hurting, I heard from Sasuke you had so many orders you needed help carrying them." He spoke softly, gentle hands removing her sandals and resting them nearby as he lightly massaged her feet as best he could to relieve some of the tension, the pleased hum that left her reassuring him he was helping. "Yeah, this month was busy. I had a lot of requests for a wardrobe worth of kimono, but now that I've finished that batch of requests, I can take a break. Technically an order from Kenshin, but I was gonna take one anyways. The weather has been so nice I've been wanting to nap around a bit." She closed her eyes, basking in the warmth of his embrace as he readjusted them, so he was leaning further back against the tree. "Yeah? Then go ahead and take a nap. I'll wake you when it's dinner time." He rubbed soothing circles on her back, watching her sew for hours sometimes made his own back ache. He knew how much she valued her work.
"Alright, that sounds nice….*Yawn* After dinner we should have a drink and star gaze, the sky has looked so pretty these last few nights." She snuggled closer to him, her kimono almost like a blanket as he kept her held close to him. His book resting beside her shoes, long forgotten in the warm air of the quiet day. It was only a few hours later that Sasuke came looking for them, stopping short when he noticed the two sleeping against the tree. The ninja watched his friends sleeping soundly, considering turning around and leaving. But before he could Kanetsugu had begun to stir, amethyst eyes glancing around blearily. Only to stop on Sasuke and widen, his pale cheeks flushing pink when he realized they had been caught in the garden. Sasuke's hands came up, a quick motion to signal peace. "I won't tell anyone, I promise." He spoke quickly, not wanting to irritate the so called "man of the house" any further than he already had. Kanetsugu gently cradled the back of his lover's head, slowly sitting up to not disturb her sleep. "What did you need Sasuke?" He spoke flatly, trying to force down his embarrassment while looking around to figure out the time. "It's almost time for dinner, everyone is already gathered. Lord Kenshin sent me to get you, since you weren't there first like you usually are." He looked off to the side, not wanting to further embarrass the male by staring at just how carefully he was holding Sasuke's sleeping friend. Honestly Sasuke was happy for both of them, there was never any doubt that Kanetsugu would take care of his dear friend. But moments like this had him cheering them on louder, he'd fight someone for trying to break up his OTP if he had to. Something he and Hime would joke up when it was just them talking in the corner of a banquet, they'd often share drinks as Hime fawned over Kanetsugu and the things he had done recently to make her smile. Of course if the wisteria scented male knew of these conversations, he'd probably never trust them alone again. "Alright, let Lord Kenshin know we're on our way." Kanetsugu sighed out, waving the other male off so he could rouse his lover for her well earned meal.

Chapter 34 - Dereliction of Duty: Maybe Mitsunari and Okatsu should have let someone know where they were, before Hideyoshi got worri... Too late.
Mitsunari x OC; Nobunaga x Mai
Previous Chapter
Logline - In order to protect a political alliance, Katusko and Mitsunari must pretend an engagement. But this “all business” arrangement is threatened by a coup against Nobunaga… and by feelings.
From the Military Notes of Ishida Mitsunari…
Okatsu is asleep. Not the restless sleep that plagued her when we were in Genba castle – she appears relaxed. She curls up into me the way Kitty does (I hope this will not cause a problem with Kitty when we return to Azuchi, as I intend to continue sleeping with Okatsu). I believe she is happy.
I am certain I am… this happiness is something I never expected for myself. In fact, I did not realize that people could experience this depth of feeling.
She says that I don’t need to be more than I was… but that doesn’t matter. I already am.
We are-
She is awake.
Wait… who is at the doo-?
I’m not sure what woke me up. It might have been the sun, slanting through the window at an angle far too high to be morning. It might have been Mitsunari’s fingers as he traced a line from my cheek to the corner of my mouth.
It might have been the sound of running feet and angry voices…
Whatever it was, by the time the door slid open and-
Hideyoshi…
Mitsuhide…
Nobunaga…
and Mai piled into the room…
I was awake.
“Where the hell have you two been?” Hideyoshi yelped it over Mai’s apologetic, “I tried to stop them.”
“Oh my.” Mitsuhide leaned against the wall. “There was no need to take your fake engagement all the way into a fake honeymoon.” He sent a mocking look toward the pile of disheveled bedding that was mostly covering us up. “That is rather going far and above the call of duty.”
I refused to cower in front of either Hideyoshi’s disapproval or Mitsuhide’s teasing. At least Nobunaga seemed to be taking things calmly – ok, well, he seemed amused at Hideyoshi’s bristling and Mitsuhide’s sarcasm… so… calmly amused.
With perhaps a slight bit of bravado, I rearranged the blanket to confirm that the important bits were covered, then said, with equal bravado, “If you believe anything here was faked, you don’t know Mitsunari as well as you think.”
That, at least got smiles from Mai and Nobunaga, the expected scowl from Hideyoshi, and well, no response at all from Mitsuhide.
“During your activities,” Hideyoshi sounded like he was choking on the word, “did it occur to either one of you that we might be concerned over your well-being? At least once in the past ten days, you might have considered sending word of your safety.”
Mitsunari froze, although he had grabbed my hand and did not let it go. “I am sorry, Lord Hideyoshi. I did not realize so much time had passed.”
Mai actually snort-laughed at that.
As I didn’t want Mitsunari to get into any trouble (any more trouble), I turned to Mai and Nobunaga who, hopefully, would understand the subtext of my explanation. “For the majority of the time we were unaccounted for, we were in a situation where it was not possible to send a message.” And… probably best to gloss over the past three days since we had arrived at this Inn.
The two of them spent a moment in silent communication. “Understood.” Nobunaga nodded to himself. “Make yourselves presentable, after which we will discuss current matters- not the least of which will be to commend your performance in repelling Iekane’s forces.”
Put like that, it sounded like we had successfully pitched a project to a client, rather than, almost singlehandedly holding off an insurrection for three days… but, details.
Then Nobunaga turned, and more or less propelled Hideyoshi out of the room. Mai winked at us and followed. Mitsuhide paused at the door then asked, “I take it you were searching for Akihira.”
“Yes, sir.” Even naked, Mitsunari hadn’t dropped his formality. Of course, it was possible that Mitsunari had forgotten he was naked. “Unfortunately, even his more regular contacts were not able to locate him.”
Mitsuhide rubbed his chin and looked at me. “That suggests that you might be in need of a new master.”
“Okatsu has no need to employment.” Mitsunari pulled me closer to him so quickly I almost didn’t have time to pull the blanket with me (yeah, he had forgotten that we were naked). “I am able to take care of her.”
Oh dear.
It seemed that we did still have a few issues to work out. None of which were worth discussing while Mitsuhide was in the room.
Why was he still here?
“I believe I heard Nobunaga calling for you, Lord Mitsuhide.” Blatant lie, but I should get credit for saying it with a completely blank face.
“You must have excellent hearing.” Great. Trust Mitsuhide to want to stick around to tease us both.
“I do, in fact.” I looked around for something to throw at him, but came up empty handed. “Perhaps any discussion of future employment should wait for Nobunaga as he did make a prior offer.”
Go away.
Besides which, I doubted I could work full time for Mitsuhide without wanting to kill him – and I would be surprised if he didn’t say the same thing about me.
“If you wish me to leave, Brat, you need only to ask.” He made a show of looking at his nails as if to suggest that he was only sticking around because he had yet to be dismissed.
Beside me, I sensed Mitsunari about to object to the term, ‘brat,’ so I imitated Mitsuhide’s bored tone. “Lord Mitsuhide, you have permission to take your leave of us.”
“As you wish.” He bowed and left.
“Okatsu-”
I placed my fingers on Mitsunari’s lips, until I was certain Mitsuhide had left and was not lurking in the corridor as he had when… Wait- what was I remembering? I was suddenly hit with two blurry flashes of memories. In one, I ran into a corridor carrying a bundle of clothing and nearly collided with Mitsuhide. Before I could sort though that, it was replaced by another image, another corridor, this one red and black, garish almost, that spun dizzily around while Mitsuhide scooped me up and said something about a head injury…
Neither of these things had happened.
Had I just gotten a flash of Katsuko’s memories? Of Kayten’s? Or of another of the so-called alternate’s?
I rubbed my eyes, trying to push away the invading pictures. Was this what Kayten had to deal with all the time? No wonder she was so… difficult.
“Okatsu?” Mitsunari looked at me with concern. “You appeared to be … in pain.”
Oh, he was so, so much better at understanding my emotions these days. Of course we had just spend the last seventy-two hours exploring each other physically and emotionally – basically it had been a love language immersion class. “I’m fine. Just remembering a … weird dream.”
Maybe it would be good idea to think of the other Katsukos’ lives as a dream. Otherwise, I might end driving myself crazy for real. Had any of the other (sigh) alternates gotten flashes of my life? If so, I hoped they had enjoyed the last three days.
I know I certainly had.
Keeping my smile (and probably leer) hidden, I watched as Mitsunari got up and gathered the clothing that was scattered around the room. Oh. He did have a nice butt. Not quite Captain America level, but, darned close. Oooh. I can now objectify my fake fiancée!
Hm… was our engagement still fake?
Mitsunari turned around and caught me staring. “Okatsu, I love you, but I do not wish to keep Hideyoshi waiting. If you continue to look at me like that, that is certainly what will happen.”
“Understood. My apologies.” I needed to get dressed too, of course. At least for me, I had a change of clothing that I had grabbed before leaving Genba. Poor Mitsunari was stuck in the clothing that had gotten rained on.
Aside from a couple of corner of my eye glances at my maybe-not-fake fiancé, I managed to get up and get dressed, without pulling Mitsunari back to bed for round twelve.
Once I was dressed in Katsu-the-messenger’s clothing, I noticed Mitsunari was regarding me with a frown. “What’s wrong? Does this hakama make me look fat?”
“Fat? You are perfect, no matter what you are wearing.” He pulled me in for a quick kiss. “It is only that when you dress this way, I remember your work can be dangerous.”
Oh right. We do still need to settle this first (sorry Hideyoshi). “It can be, but I can take care of myself.” I put my hand up to stop his automatic protest. “Yes, I know you can take care of me as well. But I like what I do. As much as I love you, I wouldn’t be me if I sat around all day and did nothing.”
And then, because he still hadn’t responded, I hugged him tighter. “Anyway, I don’t even know who I will be working for. Nobunaga may want me to work as a translator.” But hopefully not all the time. It could get pretty boring to be stuck inside with papers and such. “As for Mitsuhide, I don’t think he would really ask me to do anything dangerous – he has his own spies and Kyubei for that.”
“I hope you are correct.” He kissed the top of my head. He was still holding on tightly, so I don’t know how much of that had gotten through.
“We have time to figure it out.” That was the best perk – since I had arrived in this era, I had been in a sort of limbo, while I searched for Toshiie and a way home. But now, I was home, and I knew where Toshiie was. If I could only figure out what had happened to Aki, it would be perfect. Although at least I knew that there were other people looking for him too… other versions of me looking for him. And since the other versions had also been trained by Aki, surely one of us would find him.
“Where are your sandals?” That was the first question from Hideyoshi once we had all crowded into Nobunaga’s rooms for a debriefing session.
Mitsunari looked down at his feet, as if he hadn’t realized they were bare (quite possibly he hadn’t). “I seem to have misplaced… oh.” At the last minute, he finally must have remembered they were now a pile of ash.
“We tried to dry them off after they got soaked in the rain, and they fell in the firepit.” I kept my smile as innocent as possible. Hideyoshi seemed satisfied with the explanation, but Mitsuhide gave me a look that suggested he knew what we had been doing while the shoes went up in smoke.
“Something will be found for you to wear before we return to Azuchi.” Nobunaga waved his hand in the air as if such a problem was beneath his notice. “If we can find nothing that fits, perhaps Mai can help.”
“Of course. Also,” Mai turned to me with a frown. “Shohime said she would pack up all your things and bring them to Azuchi.” There was a note of hurt in her voice.
Right. When I left, I had abandoned the clothing she had made. I hadn’t meant to hurt her feelings, but obviously I had. “I’m sorry. I would have loved to have taken them with me, but I thought I was returning to a life where they would not have been used.” Not a lot of call for formal kimonos in modern Japan. I mean, I could have worn one on special occasions, if I had been a special occasion kind of girl. But. I wasn’t. “I did take the blue-green one with me. I couldn’t bear to part with it, even if it would have been impractical back in our village.”
Mai continued to look a bit pouty, but she didn’t say anything more. Looks like I had my work cut out for me to repair that relationship.
Nobunaga gently stroked her arm before moving the conversation along. “I am given to understand that your former employer went missing after the Battle of Genba?”
“Yes… my father, in fact.” No use hiding it at this point, especially since Hikosane had already told Mitsuhide. To conceal it from Nobunaga after that would be disingenuous. “My intention was to look for him near our home in case he had somehow made his way back there. However the place was deserted – even his chatelaine was gone.” And where was Fume anyway? Another thing I would need to investigate. I mean, I didn’t like her, the feeling was mutual, but I hoped she was ok at least. “Our search led to a location where communication was impossible. Once we exhausted the search, we came here and intended to send you a message today.”
Hopefully they would never discover that we had arrived on-
“The innkeeper noted that you and Mitsunari have been here for three days.” Hideyoshi delivered that tidbit in the tone of an outraged parent… a.k.a his normal voice.
Thank Okitane. See if I send you a Christmas card this year.
“I am sorry, Lord Hideyoshi.” Mitsunari punctuated that statement by bowing low to the floor. Should I do that too? “This was solely my responsibility, as Okatsu is not used to having people concerned about her.”
The objection to this characterization of myself as a lost, orphaned waif (though ‘orphaned’ might be technically true) froze on my lips when Hideyoshi turned and gave me a gentle smile. “Okatsu, from now on, please understand that there are people who will worry if you are late or missing.” Then he… patted me on the head.
!
I must have looked surprised at the gesture, for Mai turned and stage whispered, “You’ll get used to that.”
“Monkey is correct.” Monkey? Nobunaga nodded at Hideyoshi. “You were instrumental in the Battle of Genba, and we will continue to consider you a Princess of the Oda, if that is your desire.”
Well, I could do without the Princess designation, but now wasn’t the time to protest. “I would like to continue living in Azuchi, in whichever capacity you would find useful. Thank you, Lord Nobunaga.” Because it seemed like the proper protocol at this moment, I followed that up with a respectful bow.
“Excellent. I am certain your knowledge of the Nanban language will be useful indeed.” He nodded to himself and I had a dark visions of a future filled with paperwork and official diplomatic functions.
That was fine. If I could be with Mitsunari, I’d eventually figure out how to arrange my days to my satisfaction (my nights, clearly, would be very satisfying). “As you wish, sir.”
“It’s settled then.” Nobunaga waved us out of the room. As I made my escape, I heard Nobunaga and Mai making plans to visit the Inn’s onsen.
I managed to avoid turning around to advise them that it was worth it to wait until night, when the stars over the vista of the mountains spread across the horizon like a velvet blanket. Nobody needed to know exactly how Mitsunari had spent our second night here.
It wasn’t… completely settled.
Hideyoshi wanted to talk to me. Hopefully this wouldn’t be an ‘offer I can’t refuse.’ Mitsunari had been willing to stay for moral support, but I turned him down. If the conversation grew uncomfortable, I didn’t want him stuck between myself and his lord.
I accompanied Hideyoshi into what was at some point going to be a very nice garden, though at the moment it was just a jumble of rocks and mud. We walked quietly for a little while, picking our way to the driest points. He’d called this meeting, he could begin it when he was ready.
“You were originally planning to return to your home with your brother – what made you change your plan?” Hideyoshi brushed some invisible dust off a large stone and gestured for me to sit.
I sat.
Of course, now, he was looming over me. “Mitsunari asked me if I would be permitted to come back and visit him – and I realized that if I left, there was no guarantee that I could return. My village is … not very accessible.”
“You come from the same place as Mai. She mentioned that.” As always, Hideyoshi’s voice softened when he said Mai’s name, and I, in my newfound happiness, was reminded to step very carefully. It wasn’t only the physical path that was full of obstacles.
Nor was I sure that he knew exactly where, or more specifically, when we were from. “Mai and I discovered we came from the same place, but my brother and I had to leave it seven years ago, so she and I had never met before.”
To be honest, I believed that Mai and Nobunaga really ought to bring Hideyoshi (and Mitsuhide at least) into our confidence, or we would continually having these awkward conversations. “My brother decided to return home and originally I intended to go too. But when Mitsunari told me how he felt… I couldn’t leave him.”
Even the memory of his touch on my cheek brought back that warmth, and the expression he had had on his face would be etched into my mind forever. Without my permission, a smile invaded my face. Feeling embarrassed, I turned away from Hideyoshi.
“I’ve never seen you smile… not like that.” Hideyoshi’s voice sounded strained. “I believe your feelings for Mitsunari are honest.”
“They are… but isn’t that Mitsunari’s business?” I understood that Hideyoshi felt somewhat parental toward Mitsunari – pretty much everyone in Azuchi did as well. But my feelings were mine. Mitsunari’s were his. What we chose to share with each other were ours.
Hideyoshi hesitated, and I could almost see the gears grinding in his head. “I only want to… Mitsunari … he’s … not… experienced.”
Well, he was more experienced now than he was three days ago… but I was curious to see where this was going and in any case, I wasn’t going to volunteer any information about my sex life with Hideyoshi (or anyone else, not even Mai, although I was certain she would eventually ask).
“He’s always been brilliant, but in certain ways he’s very young.” Hideyoshi seemed to be dancing around some extremely annoying ableist language here, and once again, just like that first day in the garden of Azuchi, I found myself annoyed on Mitsunari’s behalf.
“Inexperience and ignorance isn’t the same as stupid. Mitsunari is a genius, he is kind, and he makes me want to be-” I stole Mitsunari’s phrasing, “More than I was. He may appear to be unfocussed and absentminded, but he takes everything in and saves it until he needs it. Stop treating him like a toddler… he’s not… he’s a man, and the best one I have ever met.”
Whoops. Did not know that had been building up. Sorry Hidemama.
He turned red, then almost purple, at my impoliteness before the words eventually sunk in. When he finally spoke again, he sounded very very tired. “You. … Are correct. I beg your pardon. I only wanted to reassure myself that you won’t break his heart.”
“I know that, Lord Hideyoshi. That is why I didn’t stab you with this fan.” I indicated the war fan that would be carried with me everywhere from now on.
“But perhaps that was simply the story I told myself.” He got that far off look in his eyes again, and I wondered if what he was really afraid of was an empty nest. Then he shook himself out of it and looked at the fan and sighed. “A war fan? I suppose it’s better than you wandering around with a sword stuck in your obi and an arsenal strapped around your legs.”
Well, still had all three knives on me, but what he didn’t know wouldn’t hurt him. “It was a gift from Mitsunari, so I’m not giving it up without a fight.”
“It was? It seems he knows you better than I thought.” He laughed, finally. “I suppose we’ll need to train you how to use it.”
“Sure. I look forward to that.” Being allowed to continue all my training was important to me. “I honestly don’t want to be any trouble. I have every intention of being useful.”
He nodded. “I am aware of that.” He turned us back toward the Inn. “I suppose I should help find Mitsunari a pair of sandals… er, do I want to know what really happened to them?”
“You… really do not.” I fought back the impulse to be embarrassed about that by concentrating on the feeling of cold wet feet.
Apparently he was able to figure it out anyway, because that response prompted a courtesy cough. “Well. Then. Why don’t you pack your things – I’d like to get us all back to Azuchi before Keiji accidentally knocks it down with that cannon that he stole.”
Ooof yeah. Good idea.
He turned back to me. “When you pack, put the wet things on the bottom of your bag so the damp won’t get everything else wet.”
I know. “Yes, sir.”
He turned. And then back again. “Check the room twice before you leave – Mitsunari often forgets things.”
Sigh. “I will, Lord Hideyoshi.”
Once again he turned… and then back. Of course. “See if one of the tea maids can help you put your hair into a more… tamed… style.”
Yes. Yes. “Will do, sir” Yeesh could we leave this Inn and spread out so that we aren’t all on top of each other? The trip back would be excruciating with Hideyoshi micromanag…
Oh.
Hell.
Mitsunari lived in Hideyoshi’s manor.
If I moved into his quarters, I would effectively be living with my mother-in-law.

Mitsuhide Akechi Sequel
Translations may not always capture the exact nuances or tone of the original text. Expect grammatical errors and inaccuracies.
Spoilers ahead. Not a full chapter translation.
With a pale face, Sasuke nodded.
Sasuke: "The fact that Mitsuhide's name is starting to disappear from the travel guide suggests that possibility."
Sasuke: "If Mitsuhide vanishes from the stage of history, the cause of divine punishment will be gone, and you'll surely return to normal."
The trembling of my body suddenly stopped.
My fingertips had gone so cold I could no longer feel anything.
Mai: "Thank you for answering honestly."
Sasuke: "Mai, what I just mentioned is just one solution. It's not the only definitive answer."
Mai: "Yeah, I know."
(But it is the most straightforward solution.)
Mai: "I'll try to forget about this and come up with other ways."
Sasuke: "Okay. I'll keep looking into it, too."
Sasuke: "So, Mai, please don't dwell on this alone."
Mai: "Thank you."
Unable to say yes, I simply expressed my gratitude.
Sasuke: "!?"
Sasuke: "Mai!?"
A flash of distress crossed Sasuke's face.
(I'm disappearing again!)
I quickly pulled out the necklace and rang the bell.
Sasuke: "Mai!"
Mai: "I'm fine, really!"
I shouted at the top of my lungs, wishing my voice would reach him.
Mai: "You take care too, alright? Thank you, Sasuke."
Perhaps he barely heard me, but Sasuke nodded in response.
Sasuke: "Don't forget, you have so many people on your side."
Mai: "Yeah!"
As I watched him walk away, I could no longer stand and collapsed to the floor.
Mai: "I'm okay. I'm okay. I'll definitely be okay."
I kept telling myself that over and over again, trying to muster the strength to get up.
(I'm scared, but even so, I'm glad I was able to face it.)
(Because now, I know how to avoid the worst outcome.)
This world no longer has a place for me.
The ground beneath me has disappeared, and I'm falling endlessly into darkness.
Fear engulfed me from the tips of my toes to the top of my head. And yet, at the same time, a glimmer of hope emerged—a way to protect the person I love.
(It's strange.)
(Even though the thought of the future terrifies me to the point I can hardly breathe...)
At this moment, I feel the happiest I've ever been in my life.
(Loving someone is full of contradictions.)
Ranmaru: "I've brought Lady Mai."
Nobunaga: "Well done, Ranmaru."
Nobunaga: "You're there, aren't you, Mai?"
Mai: "Yes."
As I replied, the soft chime of a bell echoed, and Nobunaga nodded in acknowledgment.
The warlords, fully prepared for battle, wore determined expressions.
Scanning the hall, I quickly noticed the absence of someone I wanted to see.
(Mitsuhide isn't back yet.)
Although he'd been visiting whenever he found the time since the strange events began, he remained as elusive as ever. I haven't seen him since yesterday.
Hideyoshi: "Mai came all the way here, and yet, where's that guy?"
Mitsunari: "Lord Mitsuhide won't be participating in this campaign."
Mai: "I see."
(So, he's off somewhere, hatching another plan.)
I offered a quiet prayer in my heart.
(I hope Mitsuhide can accomplish whatever he's aiming for.)
(And also, happiness and peace.)
Nobunaga: "Keiji, what's the situation with Kicho and the others?"
Keiji: "They've left Sakai and are advancing toward Azuchi."
Keiji: "According to reports from the scouts, the enemy forces are twice our number."
(That big of a difference!?)
Hideyoshi: "We can't divert forces from suppressing the rebellion. We'll face them with a select elite group."
Masamune: "Perfect. My sword's itching for some action."
Masamune spoke with a fearless grin, but my heart pounded uncontrollably.
(I'll never get used to war.)
(I mean, how could I? So much blood will be spilled.)
At this very moment, thousands, perhaps even tens of thousands, must be on the verge of screaming, consumed by the fear of losing someone precious.
(I'm one of them.)
(This pain of loss transcends enemies and allies.)
Just imagining the heartache of losing someone made my chest feel like it was being crushed.
Ieyasu: "Mai, I bet you're making a sad face right now. I can tell, even though I can't see it."
Mai: "Ieyasu..."
Ieyasu: "You don't need to worry about unnecessary things."
Mitsunari: "Lady Mai, we'll return safely. Every single one of us."
Mitsunari: "Knowing that someone is waiting for us gives us strength."
Mitsunari's words were met with nods of agreement from everyone around us.
Mai: "Okay. I'll wait for you guys."
(I'm glad I decided not to run away.)
Even though I was almost like a ghost, there were still people who needed me.
(We're not needed because we're useful; we need each other simply because we want to be there for one another.)
Keiji: "Well then, let's go make some noise!"
Nobunaga: "Do not falter, any of you."
Everyone: "Yes!"
[Mai's Room, a few days later]
Mai: "Kicho and Motonari aim to undermine Lord Nobunaga's power and keep the rebellions going."
Ranmaru: "Judging by how easily the enemy army retreated, that's likely their intention."
(They aim to disrupt the peace of this world itself.)
Mai: "But why? There's no benefit in that for Kicho or Motonari."
Ranmaru: "I have no idea."
Ranmaru: "Times like this make me wish we could consult an expert in scheming."
Ranmaru muttered this with a look of pure frustration on his face.
(Does Mitsuhide know about Kicho and Motonari's movements?)
Ranmaru: "Lady Mai, if Lord Mitsuhide comes here, will you let him know?"
Ranmaru: "Tell him Lord Nobunaga and everyone are waiting for him. He needs to show up."
Mai: "Alright, I will."
After Ranmaru left, the only sound that remained was the howling wind outside.
(It feels like a storm is coming.)
The room started growing darker, so I lit a candle, but the draft caused the flame to flicker wildly.
My shadow, dancing along with the candlelight, appeared faint and thin.
(I don't have much time left.)
(Mitsuhide hasn't returned to Azuchi yet, so tonight's my chance.)
(I need to do whatever I can to avoid the worst outcome.)
I gathered only the bare essentials and wrapped them in a cloth bundle.
As I was preparing to leave—
???: "I'm coming in, Mai."
Mai: "!"
Masamune stepped into the room, his eye fixed intently on me.
Masamune: "What are you doing?"
(How could he show up at the exact moment I didn't want anyone to see me?)
I forced a smile, desperately trying to hide my panic, and turned to face him.
Mai: "Just tidying up. I had some free time, so I thought I'd organize a bit."
Masamune: "Liar."
Mai: "Huh?"
He strode toward me in large steps, leaning in to meet my eyes directly.
Masamune: "You're planning to disappear, aren't you?"
(How does he know?)
I clutched the small bundle I'd just packed tightly to my chest.
Masamune: "Thought so."
Before I could even think of an excuse, he spoke with absolute certainty.
Masamune: "I had a bad feeling, so I came to check on you. Looks like I was right."
Masamune: "Now that I've caught you, explain yourself."
Mai: "............"
Masamune: "Relax. I won't tell Mitsuhide."
He even guessed why I hesitated to speak.
Defeated, I gave in.
(There's no way I can deceive him.)
(I can't tell him everything, but if I don't speak honestly, he'll never forgive me.)
I lowered my gaze, searching for the right words.
Compared to Masamune's bold and vivid shadow, mine wavered like ink dissolving into water.
Mai: "Being near yet unable to connect is just too lonely."
Masamune: "............"
Mai: "If I know I'm no longer by everyone's side, maybe the pain will someday fade away."
Mai: "The sadness of not being able to touch someone, the pain of not being able to help, I thought that if I could just keep the good memories, that would be enough."
Masamune: "............"
Mai: "If I can't change the fate of disappearing, then at least I want to put an end to it myself."
Masamune: "So, you're going to leave here alone and say nothing?"
Mai: "Yeah."
(What scares me the most isn't the thought of becoming a ghost.)
(It's the thought that Mitsuhide might realize that if he disappears, my strange condition will be cured.)
I've come to believe that he would throw his life away without hesitation to save me, having loved me with such unrestrained devotion.
(If he disappears from this world, that would be the worst possible outcome for me.)
Mai: "Even if I leave here, I think I can somehow survive. I've been given enough strength to do that."
Mai: "Once I leave Azuchi and settle down, I'll send a letter."
It felt like a gaping hole had opened up in the center of my heart, and a dry wind was blowing right through it.
Masamune: "I understand your resolve."
Masamune: "That being said, I'll ask you again."
The intensity in Masamune's eye grew even stronger.
Masamune: "Is there no way I can steal you?"
(Masamune...)
(Was he serious about this?)
Mai: "Thank you, Masamune. I'm really grateful that you're trying to help, but there's nothing that can be done."
Mai: "I can't even control my own heart freely."
(Even if it's just for show, I can't be with anyone other than Mitsuhide.)
(I can't lie to my feelings, not even for a second.)
In this world, I fell deeply in love.
Love has become my backbone.
Masamune: "I see. In that case, don't back down, Mai."
Mai: "-----!"
Struck by his commanding voice, I quickly lifted my head.
Masamune: "Even if the bullets run out or the sword breaks, as long as you don't turn your back, there's still a chance of victory."
Masamune: "You stay where your heart belongs, even if it's by force."
(Where my heart belongs…)
The strength drained from my body and the small bundle I was holding dropped with a soft thud.
The gaze that pierced the depths of my soul pried open the feelings I'd buried deep inside.
(I...)
Mai: "The truth is..."
Masamune: "............"
Mai: "The truth is, I don't want to go anywhere!"
Masamune: "Mai..."
The scream I let out never pierced the air, and my wavering shadow finally disappeared.
Still, I couldn't keep it bottled up any longer.
Mai: "I want to be by Mitsuhide's side, not knowing anything about my fate. I want us to live together!"
(I won't give in to this fate. I won't lose.)
I let the tears flow freely.
I wasn't sad. I was just so angry.
Masamune: "Are you crying?"
Mai: "Yeah, sorry."
Even the sobs I couldn't control didn't reach him now.
Masamune: "Cry as much as you want."
Masamune: "Once you've cried it all out, you'll be able to fight again."
Masamune smiled and placed his hand gently on my head.
The motion of his palm as he stroked the air above me was incredibly kind.
(He's patting my head.)
Masamune: "If you try to leave again, this time, I'll take you from Mitsuhide by force."
Masamune: "And it won't just be me. Hideyoshi, Ieyasu, Mitsunari, Keiji, Ranmaru, and Lord Nobunaga—they'll all come for you."
Mai: "T-That's..."
Masamune: "If that bothers you, then stay here."
Masamune: "Understood?"
Mai: "Thank you."
(I hadn't considered the consequences.)
(If I leave Azuchi, there will be people I'll make sad.)
(I've been cherished far more than I realized.)
Fear and happiness crashed into me at the same time, leaving me frozen, unable to move.
No matter how much I pretended to be strong, my heart shattered, revealing my weakness.
(I guess it's okay to still be uncertain.)
I'm determined to avoid the worst possible outcome, and I won't hesitate to do whatever it takes to prevent it.
(Maybe I can stay here just a little longer.)
As I stood there, unable to move, Masamune quietly let me cry as much as I needed.
In the hallway, a shadow listened intently to the sound of muffled sobs.
Mitsuhide: "..........."
Without saying a word, Mitsuhide quietly left the spot without meeting Mai's eyes and departed Azuchi.
A few days later, thick clouds covered Azuchi at night.
As the rain gradually intensified, the brightly lit hall of Azuchi Castle was filled with the gathered Oda warlords.
Nobunaga: "You're back, Mitsuhide."
Mitsuhide: "Yes."
Surrounded by generals in full armor, Mitsuhide, wearing an immaculate kimono with no stains, stood out more than usual.
Mitsuhide: "I was a little late due to personal matters."
Hideyoshi: "You left the battle against Kicho and Motonari and still show up here as if nothing happened."
Mitsuhide: "It wasn't a problem without me, was it?"
Mitsuhide: "In fact, the Oda army won in less than a day."
Hideyoshi: "Don't start making excuses."
Hideyoshi stood up, veins bulging on his forehead, and angrily confronted Mitsuhide.
Hideyoshi: "What were you doing leaving Mai behind?"
Mitsuhide: "I said it was a personal matter."
Hideyoshi: "I'm asking what exactly that matter was."
Even as Hideyoshi grabbed him by the collar, Mitsuhide maintained a cold smile.
Nobunaga & Ranmaru: "............."
Masamune & Keiji: "............."
Ieyasu & Mitsunari: "............."
The gazes of everyone gathered pierced through Mitsuhide as the sound of rain from outside grew louder and more intense.
Hideyoshi: "Speak. What were you doing?"
A growl-like voice escaped Hideyoshi's throat.
No one in the room attempted to stop him.
Mitsuhide: "Let go of me. I won't be able to speak if you choke me."
Hideyoshi: "............"
Once Hideyoshi released his grip, Mitsuhide straightened his collar.
He then walked past Hideyoshi and approached Nobunaga, bowing deeply.
Mitsuhide: "Lord Nobunaga, I wish to resign from my position as a general of the Oda army."
Nobunaga: "..........."
Hideyoshi: "Ha?"
Masamune: "What kind of evil scheme is this now?"
Mitsuhide: "That's something I cannot say."
Hideyoshi: "You..."
Masamune: "Can't even tell us, huh?"
Ieyasu: "A rather honest answer for someone like you."
Mitsuhide: "I won't deny that."
Mitsuhide: "I can't say more, but I do thank you all. I appreciate everything you've done for me."
Hideyoshi: "Cut the jokes. It's not the time for that."
Keiji: "I don't think it's a joke. You should know better than anyone that he's not joking, Hideyoshi."
Mitsunari: "He's not someone who will listen to persuasion."
Mitsunari: "Even if you try to reason with him, he's already got his rebuttals lined up."
Mitsuhide: "You're sharp, Mitsunari. With you here, the Oda army's plans are in good hands."
Ieyasu: "And what about Mai? Does she agree with you?"
Mitsuhide: "I'll tell her myself and make her understand."
Ranmaru: "Do you really think she'll just accept that?!"
Ranmaru: "What happens to Mai if you leave?!"
Mitsuhide: "Mai and I are separate people."
Ranmaru: "-----!"
Mitsuhide: "Mai will follow her own path."
The warlords fell silent, and Mitsuhide quietly looked around at each of them before standing up.
Mitsuhide: "Well then, this is where we part ways."
Nobunaga: "Mitsuhide."
Mitsuhide: "Yes?"
Nobunaga: "Have I strayed from my path?"
Mitsuhide: "No, never."
Mitsuhide: "It's simply that our paths have diverged."
Without looking back, Mitsuhide opened the door and left the hall.
The incoming dark clouds unleashed a violent rainstorm upon the castle.
[Castle's Hallway]
Masamune: "Wait."
Mitsuhide: ".........."
At the voice calling after him, Mitsuhide paused.
The cold hallway was dark, and the night air seemed to cling to both of them.
Mitsuhide: "I thought our conversation was over?"
Masamune: "I still have something I want to ask."
The murderous intent in Masamune's voice made Mitsuhide turn around.
His gaze, sharp as a blade, met Mitsuhide's.
Masamune: "It's your choice to part ways with us for the sake of your ambition, for your own righteousness, but have you truly severed your ties with Mai as well?"
Mitsuhide: "That's exactly what has happened."
Mitsuhide: "If you intend to take her, now is the time."
Masamune: "........."
Masamune: "Eavesdropping again, I see. Always a fine hobby of yours."
Masamune: "Are you really serious about this?"
Mitsuhide: "Of course."
Masamune: "Then you're a fool."
Masamune: "If I could take her, I would have done it long ago."
Mitsuhide: "Don't get so down. It's so unlike you."
Masamune: "You, on the other hand, are acting so much like yourself that it's almost nauseating."
Mitsuhide: "Take it however you want."
Mitsuhide: "Tonight, our connection will be cut."
Masamune: "Is that so? If you're so sure about it, then..."
With a smooth, fluid motion, Masamune placed his hand on the hilt of his sword.
Masamune: "I'll cut off your limbs to make sure you don't leave."
Mitsuhide: "I'd appreciate it if you refrained from that."

Hello! Can i request for some Mitsuhide angst leading to fluff maybe?
It can be a misunderstanding leading to an argument or something qwq
Thankyou!
I love your fics btw! And happy new year!
Happy New Year to you as well, nonny! I hope you love this one too ^_^ Mostly fluff, a little light angst, approx 800 words.
Mitsuhide frowned. His little mouse was furious. She stood an armslength away, her back stiff, shoulders squared, brow creased and jaw tight. “You’re so cute when you’re angry.”
“I’m not angry.” Her fingers curled into a fist, clutching the fabric of her kimono.
“Of course not. You just like making that face when you’re happy.”
She glared at him. “I’m not happy either. Just . . . frustrated. I wish you wouldn’t lie to me.”
Mitsuhide sighed. He wasn’t lying. Not exactly. Just leaving something out. And for good reason. “I’m not lying, little one.”
“Right. And the moon is made of green cheese.” She looked like she wanted to stick her tongue out at him. Instead, she took a breath. “Fine. You’re not lying. I’m not angry. Nobody is anything. And I have stuff to do.” With that, she turned on her heel and stalked from his office.
He watched her go, feeling an unexpected tightness in his chest. He did not want her to be angry with him. But there were times he couldn’t simply share everything he knew, and this was one. Masamune had extracted a promise, afterall.
Two days and many cold glares later, the time had come for all to be revealed. It was a good thing too. Mitsuhide wasn’t sure he could handle another day of getting the cold shoulder. His little mouse was one snarky comment away from kicking him out of their shared futon.
She saw him approach, but pretended to be too deeply focused on her embroidery to notice him.
“Come with me,” he said when he was close, and held out a hand to help her up. Mitsuhide felt a flutter of relief when she accepted his hand.
“Where are we going?” She eyed him with suspicion. Deserved, he thought.
“Just for a little walk.” He smiled.
She furrowed her brow. “I can tell you aren’t being honest but I’m not sure what the lie is. Where are we really going?”
Mitsuhide brushed a fingertip across her cheek. “Trust me?”
“I . . . I do.” She took a deep breath. “I know you wouldn’t let me get hurt. And you wouldn’t keep something from me unless you have to. So. Fine. Lead on.”
He wanted to kiss her, but he could tell she was still too annoyed with him to want the kiss. Or to allow herself to want it, anyway. That was alright. Delayed gratification made the prize all the sweeter. His golden gaze lingered for a moment on her lips in anticipation.
She seemed to sense the gist of his thoughts, her cheeks heating. “Well. Come on. You said you wanted to take me for a walk.”
“My apologies, little one. I find myself sometimes lost in you.” He gave her a genuine smile, as rare as a shooting star. Mitsuhide led her through the mansion, a meandering walk. One that led them inevitably to the garden.
“Fireball.” Nobunaga greeted her from where he sat, while Masamune rushed over to hug her. Hideyoshi, Ieyasu, Mitsunari, Ranmaru, and Keiji were there and they cheered her as she stepped out.
“What is this? It isn’t my birthday . . .” She blinked at the gathered group and the tables piled high with her favorite treats.
Masamune chuckled. “You really don’t know, lass?”
“Am I so easily forgotten?” Nobunaga gave a small frown.
“No? But . . . I really don’t understand. Is it a festival day I forgot?” She turned to Mitsuhide, hoping for a hint.
He took pity on her. “Today is the anniversary of your arrival. You stumbled from the flaming temple with Nobunaga leaning on your shoulder, remember?” He playfully poked her forehead.
She gaped for a moment, her entire face going hot. “I didn’t realize . . . oh - oh! This is the secret you’ve been keeping? Mitsuhide?!”
“It is.” He bent down and finally claimed the lips he’d been missing for days. A long, sweet, slow kiss. Impolite to the gathered company, perhaps, to flaunt his wealth in this way. But he’d been denied far too long to allow mere courtesy to stay his desire.
“You are impossible,” she gasped when he finally let their kiss break for breath. She smacked his arm, then hugged him.
Mitsuhide smiled his crescent moon grin. “I take it you are pleased then? And I am forgiven.”
“Yes,” she laughed.
Masamune cleared his throat. “If you’re done with each other, how about you take a seat and try out my new dessert?”
Hideyoshi tsked. “Stop distracting her, Mitsuhide. You have to share her with us sometimes.”
“Yeah, princess. Come take a seat so we can all eat,” Keiji shouted.
She did, sitting with Nobunaga to one side and Mitsuhide to the other.
Ieyasu rolled his eyes. “This is so unnecessary.”
“But isn’t it nice,” Mitsunari exclaimed.
“It’s very nice,” she interjected, squeezing Mitsuhide’s hand lightly. Her gaze, when she turned to him, was full of joy. Some secrets, he thought, were worth keeping. Especially when making up with his little mouse promised to be so much fun.

Hello there. May I have an Ikesen request?
How do you think the Warlords would react to a witch MC? (I'm a big fan of The Vampire's Diaries and The Originals TV series). Thanks ☺️
Hello! A witch mc, huh? I think I never really wrote about one, thank you for the request!
Witch MC.
Oda forces.
Nobunaga Oda.
Nobunaga could tell there was something different about you, a mysterious air that surrounded you. He noticed that the moment you saved him from the fire, when you rushed out of the temple with him, it was as if the fire moved out of the way.
There was also your knowledge over herbs, he even thought you might have been a healer and that you would fit in as Ieyasu’s student. He found out the truth after interrogating you personally, Nobunaga was curious after hearing about strange “medicines” that you were able to make (AKA potions).
Hideyoshi Toyotomi.
Hideyoshi, as usual, kept his eyes on you since the very beginning. He could swear he saw you make a vase levitate, hideyoshi was about to help you carry it since it looked heavy but stopped on his tracks. Of course, it was for a split second as you carried the vase yourself.
He wasn’t one to focus on believing in the supernatural, but he also didn’t disbelieve it. Hideyoshi wondered if you could pose a threat to Nobunaga, but his mind changed after you prepared a special medicine for him when he got sick from overworking himself. It worked like magic as it made his fever go away immediately. Well, whatever you were, you didn’t seem to have bad intentions.
Mitsuhide Akechi.
Mitsuhide was naturally curious about you, since you showed up out of nowhere and saved Nobunaga. But he felt intrigued the more he investigated you. Your strange behavior by talking to animals, how you would manage to make objects disappear when no one was seeing.
Different from Nobunaga, he does his interrogation in a way that puts you on a spot, as if he is just making an innocent question. You are forced to reveal your identity, which would seem absurd had mitsuhide not seen with his own eyes. Considering your abilities, he will think about dragging you to one of his missions.
Masamune date.
Masamune found out on accident, he was going to the kitchen so that he could make dinner, but noticed that it was busy. He would have approached you had he not seen the strange ingredients you were using. Upon further observation, masamune saw smoke and bubbles emerging from the pot you were using to cook, or at least he thought it was cooking. Once you were done, he became curious about what you made.
Imagine his surprise when you appeared with a special kind of medicine for the soldiers that were still heavily injured that made them recover very fast. While that will make him confront you about what exactly you were making, he will just want to know as he was grateful that you used your knowledge to help the soldiers. What you made was really a healing potion.
Mitsunari Ishida.
Mitsunari was a bit more oblivious to the signs that you were a witch, though it wasn’t because he didn’t notice. It was more because he didn’t want to sound rude by questioning you. Sometimes you would come back with quite the different herbs for the medicine you were able to make, there were times he could swear he saw objects levitating.
He could be wrong, but he thought he saw you turn a bandit that cornered you into… a frog? Nevertheless, he was aware of your powers, though he pretended to not know for your sake.
Ieyasu Tokugawa.
Ieyasu was skeptical when nobunaga said that you would be helping him with the other healers of the castle, he didn’t trust you could handle it without proper training from him. However, he changed his mind the moment he saw the results of your medicine, it helped the injured soldiers and sick vassals heal immediately. He studied medicine for a long time, so it’s natural that he was surprised by how efficient you were making herbal medicine.
It hurted his pride a little as well, since he never discovered anything like it before. But, he could put his pride aside as long as you could show him how you made your so called healing potions.
Ranmaru Mori.
Ranmaru would discover of your abilities after he caught you making a whole decorative pot that was broken disappearing before his eye. He was about to turn around the corner to greet you when he saw you using magic. He preferred to keep a low profile and hide before you could notice him.
Being a ninja, it wasn’t hard for ranmaru to sneak around without being noticed, though he believed that, despite what he saw, you couldn’t possibly be a bad person. That’s why he would act like nothing happened until you were more comfortable sharing your secret with him.
Keiji.
Keiji knows how it feels to hide a part of yourself to stay safe, though in your case it seemed like something much bigger than a part of your personality. Just like you would inevitably find out about his two faced nature, he was able to discover your powers as a witch. In a way, both had blackmail over each other, which would create a connection and a bond between you two.
Besides, it’s not like he didn’t find your powers fascinating, so he was far from scared.
Uesugi-Takeda alliance.
Kenshin Uesugi.
Kenshin isn’t someone who would overreact or be surprised by supernatural things, as long as he could fight it, he was happy. Although you did manage to catch him off guard a bit. In the middle of a fight, he saw you using your magic to throw the opponent flying away from you.
To him it was unexpected, but that didn’t faze him to stop fighting. After defeating all of the enemies that caught you two off guard, he won’t waste time questioning you about how you were able to do that. And after getting his answers, he will ask (demand) that you use your powers again.
Shingen takeda.
Is this the power of an angel? Dramatic quotes aside, it won’t take long for him to discover of your abilities, there is nothing that can be hidden from this man after all. But he would keep a secret for your safety, he knew how stressful it was to keep something hidden from others.
You would feel so grateful that you would dedicate yourself to create a healing potion powerful enough to heal his sickness (it was only natural that you would be able to notice that he had an illness). Words just can’t describe how grateful he would be.
Yukimura Sanada.
Ah, he knew it! You are an evil witch who will turn him into an animal! Since the moment you two met, he was already calling you a sorceress for being able to charm people with your personality (that isn’t magic, just social skills). But to actually get a confirmation that you are a witch will make him feel very weary of you. It will take time for him to understand that you aren’t a threat.
Of course, eventually he will let himself go around you, seeing that you would turn him into a frog.
Yoshimoto Imagawa.
Yoshimoto wouldn’t pry in your affairs in any shape or form, after all he respected your privacy. So, even when he noticed some suspicious activities coming from you, he decided to give you the benefit of the doubt, not sure if he would regret it later. However, your never did anything to harm anyone in Kasugayama, he would trust you no matter how strange some of your actions were, just like he trusts sasuke (despite not having the best of relationships with him).
Even after finding out about your powers, he will treat you like a real celestial maiden (kind of like Shingen would, must be a family thing).
Kanetsugu.
Kanetsugu always kept his eyes on you from the moment you arrived at Kasugayama castle, being weary that you could be dangerous to Kenshin (though he highly doubted you could harm him). He was always stern, which made you be more careful about using your powers near him.
Though, even after he catches you using your magic, he won’t throw you in the prison cells. However, that does not mean he completely trusts you. For safety reasons, Kanetsugu will be glued to you, almost like you were his prisoner just to ensure you wouldn’t use your magic against his lord (eventually it won’t be bad at all to have him always by your side though).
Sasuke.
Sasuke would be one of the first ones to find out that you are a witch, one because he is already familiar with the concept since he is also from the modern world, and two because he could easily put two and two together to understand what you were. It all started after he goes to see you by going to your celling. He will accidentally catch you using your magic when you think that you are alone in your room.
He will apologize first of all for sneaking in like that, which will be followed by a million of questions, some of which include participating on a research of his own.

Babysitting Warlords and the Littlest Princess (Part 5)
Part 1 | Part 2 | Part 3 | Part 4 | Part 5
From a collection event where Mai gets turned into a child.
---
Mitsuhide's smirk deepened as Mai continued to sit in silence.
Mitsuhide: Mai, can you hear me?
Mai: ...
Mitsuhide: Oh my, no answer. It looks like the little crybaby mouse cried too much and now she can't talk.
Mai: !? Mai: I'm not a crybaby!
Mai rubbed her eyes hurriedly.
Mitsuhide: And this mouse has sat down for so long that her legs have fallen off and she can't stand up anymore. Such a shame.
Mai: They didn't fall off!!
Rising to Mitsuhide's bait, Mai wobbled to her feet defiantly.
Sasuke: Making fun of someone so much that they go along with exactly what you want... Truly something only Mitsuhide would be capable of.
Ranmaru: There are better ways to go about it! Ranmaru: I'm sorry, Mai. Did you get lost in the castle? It must have been scary. Ranmaru: How about we play together? I want to be friends with you.
Mai: Really?
Ranmaru: Of course!
At Ranmaru's confirmation, Mai's eyes brightened. And it was at that moment that...
Nobunaga: There you are.
Nobunaga, along with Hideyoshi and Yoshimoto, had caught up.
Yoshimoto: Mai, about just now... Yoshimoto: You didn't want all the konpeito for yourself, did you? You wanted more so you could share with everyone, am I right?
Mai: ...
Looking at the jar of konpeito that Yoshimoto was now holding out to her, Mai nodded shyly.
Hideyoshi: I'm sorry, I didn't realize.
Nobunaga: It shall be as you wish, then. Everyone will have konpeito.
Mai: ...Yeah! Everyone should get to eat yummy things!
Seeing Mai's bright grin, everyone else also began to smile.
...
After all the warlords had regrouped and konpeito was passed around to everyone...
Mai: Let's play Red Light, Green Light!
Ranmaru: What's that?
Kanetsugu: Is that code for something?
Sasuke: No, it's a game from our hometown. One person is it, and they stand somehere far away from the others with their back turned...
...
Mitsuhide: An interesting game.
Mai: I want to be it!
Mai excitedly ran over to stand next to a tree.
Sasuke: She has knowledge of the moder-- our hometown, despite being this young. That is most definitely Mai.
Ranmaru: Huh, did you still doubt it?
Sasuke: Not quite. But there was no definite proof, so...
Mai: Come ooooon!! Let's play!
At Mai's urging, the warlords gathered in the garden. Until Mai turned back to normal the next day, they all took turns to look after Mai. But that's a story for another day...
