so this is the famous "buddy daddies" anime
Hideyoshi and Mitsuhide - What if they were babysitters?
One of the personal glamor bonus stories from Hideyoshi's 2023 birthday fest event:
A cute little cry pierced through one calm afternoon.
Baby: Waaaaaaaah!!!
Hideyoshi: There there, I'll change your diaper now. Hideyoshi: Mitsuhide, I'll handle this, so you warm this up.
Hideyoshi passed Mitsuhide a container of milk that the baby's parents had entrusted to them.
Mitsuhide: Understood. I've prepared the hot water. Leave it to me.
Mitsuhide took the container and dipped it into a pot of hot water.
Hideyoshi: Hey, if it's too hot it can cause a burn.
Mitsuhide: I know that.
Hideyoshi: Make sure it's about room temperature.
Mitsuhide: Mmhm.
The two of them proceeded with their respective tasks.
Mitsuhide: Room temperature…? This should be enough then.
Mitsuhide retrieved the milk container from the pot of hot water, wiping it dry with a washcloth.
Baby: Waa, waa.
Mitsuhide: You look like you're in a good mood.
Hideyoshi: He's better now that he's clean. Are you done with your part?
Mitsuhide: Yes. Just checking the temperature.
Mitsuhide tested the milk by dabbing a drop onto the inside of his wrist. After confirming, Hideyoshi took the milk from Mitsuhide and started to feed the baby.
Mitsuhide: …He's cute.
Hideyoshi: Of course he is. Babies are innocent. Unlike some people.
Mitsuhide: Why, I wonder who you could be talking about?
Hideyoshi: It's obviously you.
Mitsuhide: How awful. Such a sharp mouth, even though you're acting so paternal right now.
Hideyoshi: Paternal, huh… Well, I suppose it's natural to feel like that when you start taking care of a baby.
As the peaceful moment continued, a different baby tugged at Mitsuhide's sleeve.
Mitsuhide: …Hideyoshi, this little one looks hungry.
Hideyoshi: How can you tell… is what I would have asked you, but you're probably right. It's the middle of the day after all. Hideyoshi: Just wait a bit. The baby food is…
Mitsuhide: I've just finished preparing it.
Hideyoshi: That's pretty good.
Mitsuhide: I'm used to this kind of work.
As he spoke, Mitsuhide spooned out the baby food onto some plates.
Hideyoshi: …Even though you've got no sense of taste, the food you make is surprisingly popular with the kids.
Mitsuhide: I'll take that as a compliment. Mitsuhide: Now, say "aah".
Mitsuhide lifted a spoon towards the baby's mouth, and it happily started to eat.
Baby 2: Mo! Mo, mo!
Hideyoshi: Hm? "Mo"? Does he mean "no"?
Mitsuhide: Surely he means "more". Here you go, another spoon for you. Eat up.
Hideyoshi: You're a natural at this, aren't you?
Mitsuhide: Not as much as you.
Mitsuhide smirked as Hideyoshi smiled wryly, and offered the baby another spoonful of food.

Mitsuhide sighed, Hideyoshi had yet again cornered him in the hallway and demanded that he swear his loyalty to their lord. As fun as seeing Hideyoshi riled up was his constant paranoia was getting to be quite tiresome. After a moment of thought, an idea flickered through Mitsuhide’s head and a scheming smile played across his lips, a smile that Hideyoshi did not miss. Crowding even closer to Mitsuhide, Hideyoshi slammed his hands on either side of the wall, caging the other man in between his arms.
“Is something funny?” Hideyoshi growled.
“Not at all,” Mitsuhide replied, but despite his words, his smile only grew larger. If riling the other man up this way was getting old then he would just have to find a different way to rile him up. Mitsuhide placed his hand on Hideyoshi’s chest and leaned inwards, bringing his lips close to his ear. “It’s just if you wanted to press me against the wall so badly you could’ve just asked.” Upon hearing those words Hideyoshi pulled away from the shorter man faster than one could blink with a flushed face and a scandalized expression.
“I-.. wha- T-that’s absurd! What are you saying!?”
“Am I wrong?”
“Of course you are!”
“Well with how often you seem to want to trap me between your arms, I was beginning to think that these interrogations of yours were just an excuse to get close to me. Though I must say, that blush your sporting doesn’t help convince me in the slightest.” At that, Hideyoshi blushed harder and turned his head in a vain attempt to hide it. Mitsuhide again stepped close to Hideyoshi bringing his hand up to his racing pulse.
“You may deny it but my offer still stands,” he said with a smirk and nothing short of bedroom eyes. Hideyoshi sputtered and then turned and stomped off, muttering curses along the way. Mitsuhide watched him go with a look of amusement. He may have just found his new favorite game.

VALENTINE’S DAY DOUBLE FEATURE
You can find all other IkeSen works of mine here or become a Patron of mine! NOTES: Thanks to @selenecrawford, @jennacat84, and @kerriescreativecorner who hung out and made the suggestion for these prompts! I hope you enjoy this Valentine’s Day Double Feature. God knows I needed some cheering up for this.
It wasn’t terribly uncommon for him to just… show up at the house. Masamune was like that. He was just as likely in the state as out of it, in town as out of town, on the porch as on the roof.
No, the strange occurrence was him in a suit.
“What’s the event?” She asked, very aware that she was in her sweatsuit. “You sure didn't give me warning about anything fancy.”
Masamune fixed her with his Cheshire Cat grin. “Am I supposed to?”
“If I was supposed to get dressed up for something, then, uh, yeah.”
“Get dressed for something,” he announced gaily, letting himself inside. “I’ve got a surprise for you.”
Frankly, she wasn’t quite in the mood. Still--if Masamune wanted something, Masamune usually got it.
Damn his charm.
“How fancy are we talking?”
“Fancy enough,” he replied cryptically, flopping onto her couch. “Just something real nice. Can I fiddle with your switch while you’re changing?”
“Guess so. I… I suppose I’ll be right back.”
Fortunately, she got ready quickly. He was barely floundering his way through Rainbow Road when she emerged from the room again, clad in a sparkly black dress and black flats. “Are you gonna tell me what’s going on!”
“Nope!” And he leaped to his feet, offering her an arm. “Come on. You won’t hate it.”
“That’s not exactly promising.”
“That’s my motto: Keep your expectations nice and low. It makes the surprise better.”
Somehow she allowed him to steer her into the car (which he’d borrowed from Hideyoshi--”Can’t be taking a lady in a nice dress on the back of my bike, he said, so here we are”) and onto the highway. Lights flashed and rippled by. The city fell away behind them, replaced with the wide open skyline and the far-off mountains, the fresh breeze slipping through the windows. Masamune flipped on a playlist full of his favorite songs and hummed along to them as they went, and something about his deep voice filled her heart to swelling.
But that was just Masamune. He had that easy, beautiful, serene way about him. It was indescribable.
At long last they pulled off the highway and on to some backstreet. She rolled up the window to keep dirt out of the car. “Where are we going?”
He just grinned. “You’ll see.”
Eventually they pulled up to a dark field. Masamune parked and flipped off the headlights, kicking open his door before she could ask again--and then her door was open, his hand inside. “C’mon.”
“What’s going on?”
“I told you! You’ll see.”
She fixed him with a pout but trusted her hand to him anyway. With a smile, Masamune pulled her from the car and cupped his hands over her eyes. “Keep ‘em shut.”
“I have no choice like this.”
“Good Kitten. Hang on.”
At last he released her arm. She remained rooted in place, jiggling her knees in the cool night air. Masamune hummed, then swore, then finally--
“Okay. You can open’em.”
And when she did--oh! A thousand little tea lights sat in tiny glass votives around a picnic blanket. Masamune casually flipped on a speaker, her favorite music echoing around the empty field. She laughed despite herself, putting a hand over her mouth.
“What’s all this?”
“A bribe,” he announced with a grin. “I’ve got a dinner waiting in the trunk. It’s your favorite.”
“But--” She waved a hand to keep away the tears threatening her. “But why?”
“So here’s the thing.” Masamune crossed the field to her and took her hands in his. God, he was so warm. “I kinda dig this girl. She’s a good friend of mine, and I think she deserves to be treated right.”
“You’re not serious.”
“As the grave, Kitten. I really mean it.”
What was she supposed to say? She rubbed her eyes, but he leaned forward and planted a kiss against her cheekbone. She stammered another laugh. “I didn't think--I didn't realize--you like me?”
He took her hand and crossed it over his chest. “Cross my heart and hope to die. This a good enough bribe for you, or should I step it up for you a little more?”
“I dunno,” she managed, “I dunno if I can say yes unless you dance, or something--”
Silly her for thinking he wouldn’t. Masamune swept her up in his arms; she squealed and held on as he spun her around, setting her down into a perfect, flawless waltz. The stars wheeled overhead. Together they made their way around the blanket, hand in hand, her head thrown back with a laugh and his smile infectious in the tea lights.
“I surrender,” she gasped. “I give up. I surrender. It’s good enough.”
And then he was toe to toe with her, his hand cupping her chin. “Just good enough?”
Silence. The speaker paused as he smiled, tucking a strand of hair behind her ear. “Can I make it even better?”
“I mean,” she murmured, shy suddenly, “If you want to.”
Masamune Date tasted like a lot of things--like the sky before a fall storm, like the back seat of a motorcycle in the wind, like hot chocolate and mint juleps and lip balm he used compulsively. Her breath hitched and he claimed her mouth again, scarcely leaving her time to breathe.
“Be mine,” he whispered.
“Yes,” she answered back. “I already was.”
---|||---
The first Valentine’s Day, Hideyoshi thought it was a joke.
“Very funny.” He tossed the card back onto Mitsuhide’s desk. “I’m fine without one, you know.”
“Are you really?” Mitsuhide took it between his fingers and turned it with calculating slowness, those sharp, glowing eyes laughing at him. “Are you really? You seem stressed, Toyotomi.”
“If I seem stressed, it’s because you insist on vexing me.” Hideyoshi frowned. “Don’t you have someone else to mock for Valentine’s Day? Nobunaga is single.”
Mitsuhide just shrugged and tucked the card back into his desk. “I didn't want to give Nobunaga a card.”
Hideyoshi turned back to his work and tried not to think about it.
---
The second Valentine’s Day, Hideyoshi wasn’t certain who left the card. He almost thought it was Mitsunari, judging by the cute design--but the man shook his head and pointed to Mitsuhide’s desk.
“I think Mr. Akechi left it there.”
“Goddamnit,” Hideyoshi mumbled. “He did this last year.”
Nobunaga glanced up from the nearby water cooler, brow cocked. “He did what last year?”
“Picked on me.” Hideyoshi waved the card. “He must think it’s funny.”
Their boss paused thoughtfully. “I’ve never known him to waste money.”
“That’s true,” Mitsunari agreed. “He is quite frugal. I can’t picture him using a card as a joke.”
“Then why wouldn’t he sign it?” Hideyoshi asked, floundering. “You know him. He’s forever coming up with new ways to get under my skin.”
The other two shrugged.
---
The third year, Hideyoshi was on his way out of the office when Mitsuhide held up an envelope between his fingers.
“Post for you,” he drawled.
Hideyoshi stared, disbelieving. “When are you going to stop making fun of me?”
Mitsuhide’s perfectly sculpted brow just arched. “I’ve not a clue what you’re referring to.”
“You did this last year,” Hideyoshi pointed out. “And the year before. I can’t figure out what you’re doing. Do you give the others letters? No, right? Why me?”
“Whyever not?” Mitsuhide posed right back, extending the envelope to him. “Are you going to accept it, or no?”
Hideyoshi ground down his feet. “Not unless you tell me what’s up with this little game.”
“Game? Whoever said it was a game?”
He almost lashed out, but something in the seriousness of Mitsuhide’s gaze stopped him. At last--slowly--he reached out and accepted the card.
“Thank you,” he managed.
“You haven’t even read it,” Mitsuhide chuckled. “It could be a terrible joke, for all you know.”
“I don’t think it is,” Hideyoshi argued aloud, opening the package anyway. Sure enough, inside was a simple, neatly adorned card. No signature--once again. “Thank you.”
---
The fourth Valentine’s Day, Hideyoshi didn't wait for Mitsuhide.
It was nearly closing time when he got up, shuffling through his drawer for the last effects of the night. Mitsuhide’s shadow fell over the desk, but he was quicker still.
“Here.” Hideyoshi produced a card, his throat dry, and held it out to the man. Mitsuhide’s yellow eyes went wide with shock. “For you.”
Mitsuhide opened his mouth, then closed it. At last--after what felt like an eternity--a real, perfect smile slipped over his lips. Hideyoshi’s heart beat so hard he swore the other man could hear it.
“Thank you,” he murmured. “And one for you.”
“Thank you.”
Mitsuhide went to tuck the letter into his coat. Hideyoshi cleared his throat. “I actually wrote you something.”
“Did you?” And out it came again. Those long fingers fiddled with the envelope, tearing it open in a neat line. “I take it you want me to read it now?”
“I--err. Yeah.”
He peeled out the card--a pretty thing with white lace and blue flowers. Mitsuhide smiled again, flipping it open--and then he laughed out loud.
“Come on,” Hideyoshi managed, stifling his own laugh. “Come on. It took me a long time to think of that.”
Mitsuhide’s grin spread. He scanned the card again. “‘Roses are red, violets are blue, this shit is dumb, dinner for two’? Are you quite serious?”
Hideyoshi managed a couple of desperate nods. “I--I think I finally got the picture. Kind of. I think that’s the picture. I could be wrong--”
Mitsuhide laughed once more, then reached out and tapped a finger against Hideyoshi’s mouth. The man fell meekly silent. “When and where?”
---
The fifth Valentine’s Day, and Hideyoshi pulled up to the office just in time to see Mitsuhide lock up.
“Greetings.” Mitsuhide didn't even turn before acknowledging the other man, spinning on the ball of his foot. “And here I thought we weren’t doing anything tonight.”
“I did say that, didn't I?” Hideyoshi hopped out of the car with a sheepish smile. “I was hoping to catch you off guard.”
“You didn't.” Mitsuhide smiled anyway. “Make your dinner reservations where I can’t hear them next time.”
“You weren’t even in the same room.”
“The walls have ears, dearest.”
But they drew together, and Hideyoshi wrapped his arms around Mitsuhide’s waist and pulled him close for a tender kiss.
“Roses are red, violets are blue,” Hideyoshi chuckled, “Rhymes are stupid, but I love you.”

So, this happened.
It was stuck on my laptop, scanned and waiting for colours, but since today is @yunohawkeye‘s birthday, I have finally put the comic together.
(Please don’t comment backgrounds ^^’ it’s my first attempt to do digital colouring, I’m a traditional “artist”…)
