Welcome to the second ever official y-vent (y-vna's own twist on events hehe), celebrating almost 3.5k followers and our approaching 1 year anniversary of this blog!

Disclaimers/tws: some gorey images & mentions of most likely death/anything to kind of do with that since it's a dark Halloween oriented event. If you might be uncomfortable with such, please dm me about it, be cautious joining, or don't join!

Also event has quite heavy inspo from events made by @fairytopea and @sugarish (a lot by Vivi actually, and I swear I didn't mean for it to become so similar in the end, I hope that doesnt bother anyone) kind of unintentionally, my ideas just happen to be kind of unconsciously influenced a lot by them since I enjoy their creativity. more than three of the same images on a moodboard of another entry can be considered copying, depending on the situation if the images are generic, idol pics, or ones provided by me.

deadline is going to be 28th of October. Do not panic if it isn't enough time, the extended last chance for submission will probably close 1st of November, since I was definitely not be posting winners until maybe a few days to a week after the first deadline.

Only one moodboard submission will count. You are allowed to post techincally as many as you would like, however you have to choose only one that will count in the final judging.

You may ask for another option if you are struggling with the one you pick. For example if you pick apathy (that one is gonna be hard I hope people can make that one work) and really can't work it out, you may have one more retry and send another ask to @s-pirits (make sure to specify you dont want the one you already got before).

Make sure to credit anybody who originally owns the resources you use! If you refuse to comply by adding credits when asked, you will be disqualified.

You know what'd be funny? What if Nezu was in Anyone?

Not the case, he doesn't know about the Thief, but the server. Basically while everyone else at school is working so hard to catch Anyone, Nezu is ignoring all of that and gleefully existing on the server, using its favors with no remorse and giving them out with his high intelligence.

When Izuku finds him out, Nezu will point out that Anyone seems low on funds and that he has many lucrative offshore bank accounts with a truly massive amount of income each year if he's interested...

They would have! They were already dipping their toes into that particular water, Dipper making the first move just sped things along.

I think in an alternate scenario where Dipper didn't do the do, either: everything pans out the same with minor differences, OR: He's in a way less chipper mood when Ford arrives. Which means he's a lot more cagey with Ford, doesn't accompany his uncle when he breaks the curse. And since he didn't tell Ford where it happened, it comes out of nowhere when the thing's broken - but it's also done with less deadly intent. Which makes Bill (surprisingly, even to himself) alarmed, because, shit, Dipper just up and collapsed right next to him, did he just die? - and when Dipper survives despite the odds against him - Ford doesn't find out who Bill is, due to Dipper not wanting to hang out with him all that much.

Overall, these two idiots would be given a lot more time and space to bicker and argue and flirt for long enough that they get Domestic again, before they get freaky.

The Data That Powers A.I. Is Disappearing Fast

For years, the people building powerful artificial intelligence systems have used enormous troves of text, images and videos pulled from the internet to train their models. Now, that data is drying up. Over the past year, many of the most important web sources used for training A.I. models have restricted the use of their data, according to a study published this week by the Data Provenance Initiative, an M.I.T.-led research group. The study, which looked at 14,000 web domains that are included in three commonly used A.I. training data sets, discovered an “emerging crisis in consent,” as publishers and online platforms have taken steps to prevent their data from being harvested. The researchers estimate that in the three data sets — called C4, RefinedWeb and Dolma — 5 percent of all data, and 25 percent of data from the highest-quality sources, has been restricted. Those restrictions are set up through the Robots Exclusion Protocol, a decades-old method for website owners to prevent automated bots from crawling their pages using a file called robots.txt. The study also found that as much as 45 percent of the data in one set, C4, had been restricted by websites’ terms of service. “We’re seeing a rapid decline in consent to use data across the web that will have ramifications not just for A.I. companies, but for researchers, academics and noncommercial entities,” said Shayne Longpre, the study’s lead author, in an interview.

My first YR post in a while because I suddenly got a theory…

What if queen Kristina is a nod to Sweden’s real life queen Kristina?

Let me explain…

During the 1600s, Sweden was led by it’s very first queen, Kristina, who inherited the throne after her father’s passing. She was suppose to rule the country until her death, be a Protestant Cristian and of course, marry a highly placed man with whom she could get children that would inherit the crown after her.

Instead, she never got married, was rumored to be in love with her lady-in-waiting, eventually abdicated in order to move to Rome and become Catholic, and gave the crown to her cousin.

Sounds familiar?

Either, Lisa was heavily influenced by Kristina’s story when writing the script, or she had already written it and was like “Hasn’t this happened before?”.

Nonetheless, just like very few things in YR is there by a coincidence, I don’t think naming the queen Kristina is an exception. Considering the meaning of some of the other characters’ names (Willhelm = “volition” + “helmet”, August = “to increase” / “great”, Felice = “happy”), I believe the names were chosen wisely, all with some sort of hidden meaning.
