Hi hi! I'm going to answer a couple of different video based asks all in one post because they all follow a similar theme~!

Oh yes! It was one of the first videos I watched when I decided to be brave and finally join the fandom! I remember really liking it, though I don't remember the video contents itself well...!

Heh! Heehee! It's still quite a lot of fun! Years later, I can notice clearly now that this video relies very strongly on what I understand is a controversial/outdated interpretation of Void lore based on the EN translation which is...well, it's the Star Allies English Translation... (As for the details of WHAT it got wrong, o~hhh, I'm not going to get into the Void stuff ~ You'll have to go to other Kirblrs for that! I'm too busy with fixating on my personal blorbos! XD ) However! The end bit about who Kirby is and what Kirby represents? That part of the video remains golden and is something I am 100% in agreement with!

Edit: I realize now you said "videos" and if they're the ones I'm thinking of, then I think I did watch the whole series back then and enjoyed it very much! Sorry for not giving my modern day thoughts on them individually. I didn't want to make you wait too long on this!

AH! I just saw this one a few months ago and YES! Yes yes yes! Ohhh, yessss! I agree! It's funny to watch this one back to back with Designing For's video about how the early games were kind of empty fluff compared to the lore-heavy Kumazaki era when Star Warper highlights one of my FAVORITE things that's been gone for so long!!

...I would be SO happy if they focused more on this kind of "natural" world building and character exploration. I suppose, if I have one criticism of Kumazaki, it's that he maybe TOO MUCH of a writer? It's okay to focus where he specializes in, and he's really good at it, but I hope that Star Allies "micro cutscenes" mean we might get them back in a new title, rather than a "last nod" to Kirby history...

This reminds me, I never did anything with this (got swept under by RL) but I came away from this video thinking that I would LOVE to make a series of cutscene animations for the games that don't have them! Just imagine what silly things Kirby or the rest of the characters are getting up to before handing the action back to you!

(Gosh... I don't think I have the experience necessary for this but... with all these collabs, I wonder if anyone would be interested in forming up a collab to make cutscenes for the games that don't have them? I don't know if there's that many animators in the fandom, maybe splash images would be enough? ...Interesting thought?)

But one last enthusiastic yes! As an outspoken fan of, "Show us the daily life of the people in Dream Land PLEASE" this video speaks to me. And I'm glad others feel this way!

I KNEW THIS WOULD BE THE CAKE SCENE! I LOVE THE CAKE SCENE! Honestly, I don't know anyone who doesn't just burst into kittens when faced with the cake scene...! It's so cute...! vvv

Speaking of the 25th Anniversary Concert, I have to share my other favorite moment and unfortunately I can't find the full video to refresh my memory (...pulled down for copyright, maybe?) but there was one silly moment when they asked Kirby how old he was, like HIM not the series, and he's like "...I'm 25! ^o^" and of course, it's silly and ridiculous and everyone laughed and for those fans who see Kirby as a very young child, it is just the picture of a child being silly and saying whatever but...as someone who always saw Kirby as growing up with me, I beamed a little with pride? XD

And I think that's the way it should be, maybe? The things Kirby says can be as interpretable as Kirby themselves! ...Reminds me of another quote from Kumazaki that he didn't want Kirby speaking (in Japanese) in the globally streamed 30th Anniversary concert as they did in the 25th because he wanted everyone across the globe to "understand Kirby equally." That if he talked in just one language, a limited number of people would understand him, and everyone should be able to see themselves in Kirby!

It was a very sweet gesture - even though I myself missed hearing Kirby talk in Japanese! Ahh well, at least I'm surrendering my bilingual priviledge card for a good reason! XD

These are soo~ooo cute! And you're so right! Kawata-san's Kirby really is perfect! I say that feeling the same way about Oomoto-san's Kirby too though...! They're all perfect! This kind of voice (and short skit style) would be perfect for a series of official shorts imo! The kind of ones that occasionally get released on Twitter and the like. (Not that I don't already love the animations made by Courtesy!)

And ahhhh, it's so nice to hear Kirby speak full sentences too~ I really, really enjoy this interpretation of Kirby! I can't believe it's from as far back as 1994! Amazing! Truly amazing!

Which of the beast folk are most likely to mate with humans? Like what about big cat beastfolk? —anonymous

it'd be fangedfolk, since they're canine (dogs) and are most attracted to the humans'…hm , simplicity and openness, i suppose you could say? and possibly treefolk (primates). i based my beastfolks' basic common grounds with irl animals, as canines are pack animals and dogs are more emotionally connected to us. as for primates, humans have evolutionary connections, similar social intelligence, and the shared abilities to solve problems and such.

that said, while fangedfolk are the most likely to have a human "companion", they are also most likely to have a poly pack with their human. whiskeredfolk (feline) are probably in the top-middle of that list, if we were to have a most-to-least likely ranking, with toothedfolk (rodents) due to their prey/nervous natures and seafolks (aquatic) on how dangerous/rare they are to communicate with, at the very bottom. the reason why i feel the whiskeredfolk being in the top-middle is that they can be fairly arrogant and being independent, but adores the complete attention their human can give them and how easily they are to manipulate.

that said, this is extremely generalized list, since the list is not really factoring in specific sub-groups under these categories, such as lions being social animals and are more likely to acquire a human lover, cheetahs more likely to need a service human pet to help with their anxieties, maned wolf being solitary type, etc. and other facets, like countries/areas, cultures, when/which eras, political affiliations, etc.

I see an annoying girl running toward me from the distance, waving her arms in the air like she's totally oblivious to any attention she might draw to herself. That girl is Sayori, my neighbor and good friend since we were children. You know, the kind of friend you'd never see yourself making today, but it just kind of works out because you've known each other for so long? We used to walk to school together on days like this, but starting around high school she would oversleep more and more frequently, and I would get tired of waiting up. But if she's going to chase after me like this, I almost feel better off running away. However, I just sigh and idle in front of the crosswalk and let Sayori catch up to me.

“hhh...haaahhh...I overslept again! But I caught you this time!"

“Maybe, but only because I decided to stop and wait for you."

"Eeehhhhh, you say that like you were thinking about ignoring me! That's mean, [player]!"

"Well, if people stare at you for acting weird then I don't want them to think we're a couple or something."

"Uh-huh! I was talking about how I'm worried that you won't learn how to socialize or have any skills before college. Your happiness is really important to me, you know! And I know you're happy now, but I'd die at the thought of you becoming a NEET in a few years because you're not used to the real world! You trust me, right? Don't make me keep worrying about you..."

"Alright, alright... I'll look at a few clubs if it makes you happy. No promises, though."

"Will you at least promise me you'll try a little?"

"Yeah, I guess I'll promise you that."

Why do I let myself get lectured by such a carefree girl? More than that, I'm surprised I even let myself relent to her. I guess seeing her worry so much about me makes me want to ease her mind at least a little bit - even if she does exaggerate everything inside of her head.

The school day is as ordinary as ever, and it's over before I know it. After I pack up my things, I stare blankly at the wall, looking for an ounce of motivation.

"Clubs..."

Sayori wants me to check out some clubs. I guess I have no choice but to start with the anime club...

"Sayori...?"

Sayori must have come into the classroom while I was spacing out. I look around and realize that I'm the only one left in the classroom.

"I thought I'd catch you coming out of the classroom, but I saw you just sitting here and spacing out, so I came in. Honestly, you're even worse than me sometimes... I'm impressed!"

"You don't need to wait up for me if it's going to make you late to your own club."

“Well, I thought you might need some encouragement, so I thought, you know..."

"Know what?"

"Well, that you could come to my club!"

"Sayori..."

"Yeah??"

"...There is no way I'm going to your club."

"Eeeehhhhh?! Meanie!"

Sayori is vice president of the Literature Club. Not that I was ever aware that she had any interest in literature. In fact, I'm 99%% sure she only did it because she thought it would be fun to help start a new club. Since she was the first one to show interest after the one who proposed the club, she inherited the title “Vice President”. That said, my interest in literature is guaranteed to be even less.

"Yeah. I'm going to the anime club."

"C'mon, please?"

"Why do you care so much, anyway?"

"Well..."

"I kind of told the club yesterday I would bring in a new member... And Natsuki made cupcakes and everything... Ehehe..."

“Don't make promises you can't keep!"

I can't tell if Sayori is really that much of an airhead, or if she's so cunning as to have planned all of this out. I let out a long sigh.

“Fine... I'll stop by for a cupcake, okay?"

“Yes! Let's go~!"

And thus, today marks the day I sold my soul for a cupcake. I dejectedly follow Sayori across the school and upstairs - a section of the school I rarely visit, being generally used for third-year classes and activities. Sayori, full of energy, swings open the classroom door.

"Everyone! The new member is here~!”

"I told you, don't call me a 'new member--'"

Eh? I glance around the room.

"Welcome to the Literature Club. It's a pleasure meeting you. Sayori always says nice things about you."

"Seriously? You brought a boy? Way to kill the atmosphere."

"Ah, [player]! What a nice surprise! Welcome to the club!"

"..."

All words escape me in this situation. This club......is full of incredibly cute girls!!

“What are you looking at? If you want to say something, say it."

The girl with the sour attitude, whose name is apparently Natsuki, is one I don't recognize. Her small figure makes me think she's probably a first-year. She is also the one who made cupcakes, according

Sayori says that quietly into my ear, then turns back toward the other girls.

"Anyway! This is Natsuki, always full of energy. And this is Yuri, the smartest in the club!"

“D-Don't say things like that..."

Yuri, who appears comparably more mature and timid, seems to have a hard time keeping up with people like Sayori and Natsuki.

"Ah... Well, it's nice to meet both of you."

"And it sounds like you already know Monika, is that right?"

"That's right. "It's great to see you again, [player]."

Monika smiles sweetly. We do know each other - well, we rarely talked, but we were in the same class last year. Monika was probably the most popular girl in class - smart, beautiful, athletic. Basically, completely out of my league. So, having her smile at me so genuinely feels a little...

“Y-You too, Monika."

“Come sit down, [player]! We made room for you at the table, so you can sit next to me or Monika. I'll get the cupcakes~"

"Hey! I made them, I'll get them!"

"Sorry, I got a little too excited~"

"Then, how about I make some tea as well?"

The girls have a few desks arranged to form a table. As Sayori mentioned, it's been widened so that there is one space next to Monika and one space next to Sayori. Natsuki and Yuri walk over to the corner of the room, where Natsuki grabs a wrapped tray and Yuri opens the closet. Still feeling awkward, I take a seat next to Sayori. Natsuki proudly marches back to the table, tray in hand.

"Okaaay, are you ready?...Ta-daa!"

"Uwooooah!"

Natsuki lifts the foil off the tray to reveal a dozen white, fluffy cupcakes decorated to look like little cats. The whiskers are drawn with icing, and little pieces of chocolate were used to make ears.

"So cuuuute~!"

"I had no idea you were so good at baking, Natsuki!"

“Ehehe. Well, you know. Just hurry and take one!"

Sayori grabs one first, then Monika. I follow.

"It's delicious!"

Sayori talks with her mouth full and has already managed to get icing on her face. I turn the cupcake around in my fingers, looking for the best angle to take a bite. Natsuki is quiet. I can't help but notice her sneaking glances in my direction. Is she waiting for me to take a bite? I finally bite down. The icing is sweet and full of flavor - I wonder if she made it herself.

"This is really good. Thank you, Natsuki."

"W-Why are you thanking me? It's not like I...!"

(Haven't I heard this somewhere before...?)

"...Made them for you or anything.”

"Eh? I thought you technically did. Sayori said--"

"Well, maybe! But not for, y-you know, you! Dummy..."

"Alright, alright..."

I give up on Natsuki's weird logic and dismiss the conversation. Yuri returns to the table, carrying a tea set. She carefully places a teacup in front of each of us before setting down the teapot next to the cupcake tray.

"You keep a whole tea set in this classroom?"

"Don't worry, the teachers gave us permission. "After all, doesn't a hot cup of tea help you enjoy a good book?"

"Ah... I-I guess..."

"Ehehe, don't let yourself get intimidated, Yuri's just trying to impress you."

"Eh?! T-That's not..."

Insulted, Yuri looks away.

"I meant that, you know..."

"I believe you. Well, tea and reading might not be a pastime for me, but I at least enjoy tea.”

”I'm glad..."

Yuri faintly smiles to herself in relief. Monika raises an eyebrow, then smiles at me.

"So, what made you consider the Literature Club?"

"Um..."

I was afraid of this question. Something tells me I shouldn't tell Monika that I was practically dragged here by Sayori.

"Well, I haven't joined any clubs yet, and Sayori seemed really happy here, so..."

"That's okay! Don't be embarrassed! We'll make sure you feel right at home, okay? As president of the Literature Club, it's my duty to make the club fun and exciting for everyone!"

"Monika, I'm surprised. How come you decided to start your own club? You could probably be a board member for any of the major clubs. Weren't you a leader of the debate club last year?"

"Ahaha, well, you know... To be honest, I can't stand all of the politics around the major clubs. It feels like nothing but arguing about the budget and publicity and how to prepare for events... I'd much rather take something I personally enjoy and make something special out of it. And if it encourages others to get into literature, then I'm fulfilling that dream!"

“Monika really is a great leader!"

Yuri also nods in agreement.

"Then I'm surprised there aren't more people in the club yet. It must be hard to start a new club."

"You could put it that way. Not many people are very interested in putting out all the effort to start something brand new... Especially when it's something that doesn't grab your attention, like literature. You have to work hard to convince people that you're both fun and worthwhile. But it makes school events, like the festival, that much more important. I'm confident that we can all really grow this club before we graduate! Right, everyone?"

"Yeah!"

"We'll do our best."

”You know it!"

Everyone enthusiastically agrees. Such different girls, all interested in the same goal... Monika must have worked really hard just to find these three. Maybe that's why they were all so delighted by the idea of a new member joining. Though I still don't really know if I can keep up with their level of enthusiasm about literature...

"So, [player], what kinds of things do you like to read?"

"Well... Ah...

Considering how little I've read these past few years, I don't really have a good way of answering that.

“...Manga..."

I mutter quietly to myself, half-joking. Natsuki's head suddenly perks up. It looks like she wants to say something, but she keeps quiet.

"N-Not much of a reader, I guess..."

"...Well, that can change..."

What am I saying? I spoke without thinking after seeing Yuri's sad smile.

"Anyway, what about you, Yuri?"

“Well, let's see..."

Yuri traces the rim of her teacup with her finger.

“My favorites are usually novels that build deep and complex fantasy worlds. The level of creativity and craftsmanship behind them is amazing to me. And telling a good story in such a foreign world is equally impressive."

Yuri goes on, clearly passionate about her reading. She seemed so reserved and timid since the moment I walked in, but it's obvious by the way her eyes light up that she finds her comfort in the world of books, not people.

"But you know, I like a lot of things. Stories with deep psychological elements usually immerse me as well. Isn't it amazing how a writer can so deliberately take advantage of your own lack of imagination to completely throw you for a loop? Anyway, I've been reading a lot of horror lately..."

"Ah, I read a horror book once..."

I desperately grasp something I can relate to at the minimal level. At this rate, Yuri might as well be having a conversation with a rock.

"Really? I wouldn't have expected that, Yuri. For someone as gentle as you..."

"I guess you could say that. But if a story makes me think, or takes me to another world, then I really can't put it down. Surreal horror is often very successful at changing the way you look at the world, if only for a brief moment."

"Ugh, I hate horror..."

"Oh? Why's that?"

"Well, I just..."

Natsuki's eyes dart over to me for a split second.

"Never mind."

"That's right, you usually like to write about cute things, don't you, Natsuki?"

"W-What? What gives you that idea?"

"You left a piece of scrap paper behind last club meeting. It looked like you were working on a poem called--"

"Don't say it out loud!! And give that back!"

"Fine, fine~"

"Ehehe, your cupcakes, your poems… Everything you do is just as cute as you are~"

Sayori sidles up behind Natsuki and puts her hands on her shoulders.

"I'm not cute!!"

"Natsuki, you write your own poems?"

"Eh? Well, I guess sometimes."

"Why do you care?”

"I think that's impressive. Why don't you share them sometime?"

"N-No!"

Natsuki averts her eyes.

"You wouldn't...like them..."

"Ah...not a very confident writer yet?"

"I understand how Natsuki feels. Sharing that level of writing takes more than just confidence. The truest form of writing is writing to oneself. You must be willing to open up to your readers, exposing your vulnerabilities and showing even the deepest reaches of your heart.””

Do you have writing experience too, Yuri? Maybe if you share some of your work, you can set an example and help Natsuki feel comfortable enough to share hers."

"..."

"I guess it's the same for Yuri..."

"Aww... I wanted to read everyone's poems..."

We all sit in silence for a moment.

"Okay! I have an idea, everyone~"

"...?"

Natsuki and Yuri look quizzically at Monika.

“Let's all go home and write a poem of our own! Then, next time we meet, we'll all share them with each other. That way, everyone is even!"

"U-Um..."

"..."

"Yeaaah! Let's do it!"

"Plus, now that we have a new member, I think it will help us all get a little more comfortable with each other, and strengthen the bond of the club. Isn't that right, [player]?"

Monika smiles warmly at me once again.

"Hold on...there's still one problem."

"Eh? What's that?"

Now that we're back to the original topic of me joining the club, I bluntly come forth with what's been on my mind the entire time.

“I never said I would join this club! Sayori may have convinced me to stop by, but I never made any decision. I still have other clubs to look at, and...um...”

I lose my train of thought.nAll four girls stare back at me with dejected eyes.

"B-But..."

"I'm sorry, I thought..."

"Hmph."

"[player]..."

"Y-You all..."

I...I'm defenseless against these girls. How am I supposed to make a clear-headed decision when it's like this? That is, if writing poems is the price I need to pay in order to spend every day with these beautiful girls...

"...Right. Okay, I've decided, then. I'll join the Literature Club.”

One by one, the girls' eyes light up.

"Yesss! I'm so happyyy~"

Sayori wraps her arms around me, jumping up and down.

"H-Hey--"

"You really did scare me for a moment...”

here's a quick rundown on astarion: gay vampire spawn (not a vampire. like a demo version vampire. a "lesser" one but don't let him hear that) who has been kept for 200 years by his master as a slave. guy (who was an actual vampire) carved him up, tortured him and forced him to lure victims into his manor. astarion has been abused in so many ways i'd hit some sort of character limit if i listed half of them. he was only allowed to feet on rats and small vermin in the sewers. poor little meow meow astarion is now free due to [game story] reasons and seeks power and revenge -- he's an edgy fuck with a lot of swag and no moral compass. bro is a menace and loves causing problems on purpose. [slight spoiler] he will literally try to suck some of your blood like a day or two after you meet him and unless you succeed a skill check he'll just keep doing it until you die. if you resurrect yourself afterwards he'll go like "ooooh ooopsie sowwy! i wouldn't kill you if i knew you'll be back teehee can we forget about this? ;) <3 don't fucking kill me". he's such a good fucking whumpee you don't even know. it's insane. i don't want to ramble but he's almost everything i've ever wanted from a character like this in a large scale rpg. [slightly bigger spoiler] despite being the go-to "fuckable" character who everyone finds hot as hell (both in-universe and online) he's HORRIBLY traumatized by his sexual experiences from when he used to be a slave and when you romance him a good portion of his storyline revolves around trying to make him realize that he's more than just a slab of very attractive meat. he hides his feelings behind a facade of "evil tumblr sexyman-esque" mannierisms and getting to finally peel it back and see him for the poor wet cat that he is is so fucking satisfying. [an even bigger spoiler] i loved watching him cry when he finally gets to confront his former master. pristine content. there's so much more to his character (and this game in general) but if you ever need to justify spending full price on a new videogame release, there's nothing better than bg3. if i could choose one game to beam directly into the brain of each whumpblr user, it'd be this one.

No idea about anything, maybe it has incredible gameplay and i just dont know. Dont tell me if it does itll just make ms sadder bc that would absolutely make me wanna play it myself. Some pros and cons of Fallout 76 I personally feel after playing roughly 60 hours (and counting) in no particular order

Pros:

- the weapons are fun! I love the instrument melee picks and I hope to see more goofy weapons

- not being able to pause changed up my playstyle a bit- it was easy to use Apex as a format of putting aid and weapons to hotkeys, and made me finally use the favorites feature in Fo4, which makes things a little easier

- the map is stunning. I love getting lost in Appalachia’s forests and just… exploring things. There’s still that wonderful environmental storytelling everywhere, made even more quirky with Literal Mothman and the weirdest mutated creatures I’ve ever seen (though to be fair, I’ve only played 4 mostly, and I am making my way through Vegas and 3)

- but seriously. Frogs??? Giant bees?? I love it

- there’s still people alive and kicking, and it’s nice to have random new events and new content

-I love the new options to make tea and interesting new recipes

-having the game be default survival but not Hard scratches the itch I like from having characters have basic needs while not being punishing

-there is an option to attack other players, but I’ve only met nice players so far! There’s also a system to punish aggressive pvp players

- The Survivor Stories I’ve found from dead NPCs have genuinely made me emotional. My heartstrings are being played like a fiddle! In a good way.

-I really liked building in 4 and I’m glad they brought it back!!

-I like the radio host!! She’s sassy and sweet and enjoyable to listen to. I hope they give her many more lines and songs in the future than what she has now. And I hope we get to meet her!!

- the diseases are an interesting bit of worldbuilding and make my character feel more human like everyone else

Cons

- The Scorchbeast. Hhh

- no seriously. You know how in Skyrim how dragons generally scaled with the area difficulty? And you had tools to easily combat them?

- picture that but…. like if a level 50 dragon could just roll up on your level 15 dragonborn at any time. And also brings a horde of Dragur with it

- I Do Not Like The Scorchbeast :(

- the lag…..

-It’s to be determined if Vegas or 76 randomly crashes more, but so far 76 is winning

- especially just…. trying to log in. It doesn’t crash, it just stays in lovely Betheseda Stasis 70% of the time trying to enter the game

- the small loss of loot when you die is barely annoying enough where the feature feels kinda… unnecessary?

- Some items expire over time that aren’t food, like government supply requests, and I don’t know if they ever tell you this.

- paying caps to fast travel isn’t… bad tight now, but I could see it being an issue in the future as costs go up the farther you need to go. Why? Who are the caps being paid to?? At least have some lore reason behind it :(

- 76 isn’t intended to be played as single player and it shows… but man do I miss having companions traveling with me.

- The NPCs aren’t terribly shallow, but also… I’m not super attached to any of them either except for the radio host and maybe the Overseer. I like them! But it just feels like Bethesda put them there exclusively to give something to do with ur fallout buddies for some reason, with not much depth behind it. Bethseda, I like your storytelling too, not just aesthetics

- I hope bundles and stuff return to the Atom shop eventually and aren’t just… gone forever once the timer runs out…

Part 2 eventually maybe? Who knows!

Would I recommend the game overall? If you have a buddy to play with or just like environmental storytelling more than anything else, sure! It’s pretty solid imo, and isn’t nearly as bad as what I heard about it at launch

Basicallyy firstt, Blurry got mad at me and made a callout post on me for drawing suggestive content/making a joke fic of his OCs when he did the same thing with one of his ownn (drawing wisee), after which he and his friend Cultc0re made false accusations about me being a proshipper to try and slander my name 'cause I ship two villains together in my web show who are unrelated adults in a consensual relationshipp (when Blurry was actually the one who romanticizes abusee, aand Cult is a proshipper despite how many times she tries to deny itt). He also complained about how I have a "school shooter OC" when he has an OC who's a full on executionerr, hhh

Thenn, a doc dropped on Blurryy, exposing him for being a hypocritee, gatekeepingg, aand romanticizing abusee (Ooohh, aand he also bought 1,000$ worth of characters from an artist who's a proshipper who drew CP and n*zi artt aand made false grooming accusations about mee). In that doc it was also shown that he stole my best friend's outfit designs for his OCss, acting like they were his when they weren'tt. In his "defensee", he only gave her credit for them on the day the doc dropped to save facee aand he was using retracted statements from my bestie in said "defense" to make himself look betterr

After thatt, I apologized for the draws and the joke fic by taking them down aand privating the ficc, to which Cult reblogged it and twisted the narrativee. Every single time Blurry "apologizedd", he only said that his behavior was wrongg, never that he was truly sorryy, mmm

Finallyy, the callout post droppedd, exposing him for ableismm, guilt-trippingg, lyingg, aand hypocrisyy. After 2 parts of it droppedd, Blurry started deleting his accountss. Quickly after the full post droppedd, Blurry tried "apologizingg", buut he lied in his "apologyy", not really meaning anything he had said aand admitted he was doing it to save facee

Playing favorites

I'll be honest, I do play favorites with my OCs, though that does NOT mean I am nice to them TvT

My favorite OCs: In no particular order. Ning Yun// Ning Yun was first created to be part of my girlfriend's world which is based off of ancient China, as well as an Asian themed country in a fantasy world I am co writing in, but he unfortunately had to be removed since my writing partner wants a soft magic system, and Ning Yun is hardcore magical. He was made a while back, and with Black Myth Wukong existing and me digging into Chinese stuff, since my girlfriend is obsessed with it (/pos), I suddenly recalled Ning Yun's existance. I grew up on Naruto, so the nine-tailed fox has always been one of my favorite beings, and I honestly love foxes in general (THEY ARE SO CUTE WHEN THEY LOAF VFBDUVBAHDB), so Ning Yun was originally a nine-tailed fox deity.

He was originally meant to be a guardian of trees which contained fruit of knowledge (Kinda like the tree of good and evil in the garden of Eden), and he had little foxes and enfields with him. In the Ning Yun bio, you will see that I did revamp him in the end. I gave him a new backstory and world entirely. The only similarity is that he is still connected to knowledge and had fox companions ^^

Eugene Valentine// Now this one is a newer OC inspired off of the Apothecary Diaries, but only when it comes to being a courtesan. He perhaps has one of the most fucked up backstories that I have EVER given an OC. Like, second to Kalma/Theodore Miller, who was a test subject, and Kenneth Averidecci, who is based off the horror stories I've heard about the music industry and the 27 club. Eugene was, quite honestly, born partially from my disdain for.... certain things they claim can't be done to men (sometimes i really hate my fellow women -_- I refuse to talk politics however). Which, is a personal thing for me considering how it completely denies the existence of trauma that a member of my family has. Eugene is meant to be one of my prettiest male OCs (i have so many male OCs...), which, of course, is matched by his story's dark content hhh

Robin and Rhian Hill// The stories that touch me the most are those that deal with family bonds, found or blood related. Hence why Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood is my favorite anime of all time, and why Train to Busan absolutely destroyed me emotionally. I have strong family values, and Robin and his younger brother Rhian are the fictional manifestations of that. Robin is the elder brother who only has his little brother when it comes to family. He always tries to protect him, to guide him, and make sure he's happy and taken care of. Robin is the brother that would sacrifice everything if it meant Rhian would have a better life than they have now, without a second thought. Rhian cares for his elder brother, worries about him, and hopes that they can find a place where Robin won't have to struggle for them both to survive. Honestly, it's hard to write them, because of how emotional I get when I think about if my baby brother and I were in that situation as I write it. They are a pair, and you can't have one without the other.

Aleczander Valentinovich// Aleczander is that villain character that I simultaneously want to kill, but adore because of how much I enjoy writing his fucked up antics. Aleczander is an ancient vampire from one of the Rus vikings that settled modern day Russia. He is the sort that has lived so long as a vampire, that his humanity is gone, and he looks down on us lowly humans and sees us as toys and meat for the slaughter. He is highly intelligent, more knowledgable about our history than we are (He'd laugh at some historians and professors), and is the sort to sink his claws into the very minds of the poor people he changes into vampires, just to toy with them till he breaks them like marionettes on blood strings. He's my vampire boogeyman, and I somehow love him and hate him for it XD He is also one of my oldest OCs, and lives rent free in my head. For now, that is all I have, I hope you enjoyed reading my starting list of favorite OCs ^^

shamir is a mage who also happens to be a dreamer, so a mage with a stronger connection to the fade (spirit world) making him more susceptible to possession & also just. he sleeps a lot more than your average guy bc of it, bc the fade is also where dreams take place. & all that. he was made tranquil bc of it (the rite of tranquility basically lobotomises u. prevents u from using magic but it also severs all ur ties to like... ur emotions pretty much. it fucking sucks. mages are severely oppressed in dragon age) but bc he had befriended a spirit in the fade during his child/teen years the spirit was able to restore his mind... by staying with him once they'd found him again (it is VERY hard for a spirit to find a tranquil mage due to um. Their lack of connection to the spirit world. makes sense i think). he's now also the saviour of the world & has many many unstable emotions & many many powerful magicks. & he's fucking crazy unrelated to any of that he will do Anything to save his loved ones he doesn't give a fuckkk. <- pattern in my characters say what. his boyfriend is the most normal guy there is his best friend is an Evil Scary Witch (i think u would find her hot) the boyfriend & best friend hate each other but tolerate each other's presence bc "if shamir likes you i can't really shut you away". also he has weird queerplatonic shit going on w like so many fucking guys its a little funny

percy is um. well he has the regular background all hawkes have (refugee who's fleeing his country with his family bc uhhh ahhhh evil monsters ahhh!!! scary ahhhh) & is canonically a rogue, but in my beautiful mind he is a mage covering as a rogue. this is partly a subtle nod to the fact i do NOT want his sister to die (sorry to his brother. who has to die every playthrough.) & partly bc i just fucking love mages dude i LOVE mages. & dragon age 2 focuses a lot on what happens to the mages so. hhh ALL of them... okay the vast majority of the players can be explained away with just "physical prowess enough to make them a threat in individual challenges but dumb as bricks and would not be able to strategize themselves out of a bad spot"

this is abt to get long lmao so I'm putting individual ppl under the cut

nate is the most obvious first boot I honestly feel bad about it. bumbling, socially awkward, has NO idea how to assert himself without being an asshole about it (in the rare instances when he does assert himself at all), and even if he's smart enough to be a great strategist (which he absolutely IS), he can't convey it well enough to convince his tribe to overlook his (probable) lack of challenge ability. most of the time, people don't want to draw harsh lines in the sand on the very first vote so they can pretend everyone's getting along and still friends, so nate would be a sort of freebie vote that it'd be easy to agree on.

beard is too much of a follower. what ted says to dr sharon abt him is, "that man has had many lives, many masters." he's very comfortable being led by people with stronger personalities, and even when he disagrees with their calls he will still execute them like a perfect little lackey. the thing about beard is that I think he'd go VERY far in a season of survivor! I think he could EASILY make it all the way to the end! but I just don't think he can WIN. he's genius-level intelligent and SO strategically savvy, but more than that he is fiercely loyal. he'll attach himself to the right person (or the wrong person, as it were), and even if he is whispering in that person's ear all the way through, he would be TOO content to let them take all the credit, he wouldn't push back against them if they disagree with his plans and make a lesser move instead (the whole beginning of 'beard after hours' is him berating himself for not standing up and making the hard calls even when he knew they'd be better), he wouldn't turn around and slit that person's throat at the end to further his own game, and he would make himself socially impenetrable to everyone else. nobody could get close to him, nobody could like or understand him, he'd probably be seen as good collateral if the opposition couldn't strike directly at whomever beard works with, and if he DOES make it to final tribal, I think he'd have a very difficult time convincing the jury that he deserves the credit and the limelight. he wants to win, I just don't think he believes he deserves to.

ted and roy actually would have the exact same problem, which is "physically and strategically competent, but so FUCKING ANNOYING to live with that they get booted for the sake of tribal quality of life." roy would isolate himself socially with his aggression, and ted...

ted is the antithesis of what a "good survivor player" ought to be, which I actually think could work to his advantage in a number of ways? like I think more typical players would find him incredibly unpredictable because he's sharp enough to see what the best moves are, but generous and self-sacrificing enough not to make them. like, there's a reason he's a coach and not a player. there's a reason he says that he doesn't measure success in wins and losses. if he could survive the first few votes, his social game would be AMAZING-- the entire first season of the show is about him wearing rebecca down through the sheer magnitude of his friendship! lesser survivor players would be so endeared to him that they couldn't fathom voting him off, but they're the ones who are getting picked off in his stead. moderately savvy survivor players would not trust a single word out of ted lasso's mouth; there's no fucking way a man can be this kind and this sincere, not on survivor, it's just not possible, he must be plotting something MASSIVE, we have to strike first before he gets his chance. and the truly brilliant survivor players would realize that he IS genuine, he IS sincere, he IS loyal and giving to his core, and that's DANGEROUS. you can't let someone like that make it to the end or they'll take your million dollars. best to shut it down at the jump.

and above all that, I just think that ted... ted would thrive in the pre-merge, in the tribal portion of the game, he's SO team-oriented, but post-merge, in the individual game... perhaps if he had a solid alliance he could also feel that way about, then it might suit his temperament, but ultimately I think he just. wouldn't want it badly enough. I just think the significant majority of people would be vastly more self-interested than ted would be, so they'd take the shot first.

higgins is an interesting midpoint between all three of nate, beard, and ted, in that he's a henchman through and through even when he disagrees with his boss, he's a pushover who'd be seen as a liability in physical challenges in the early game, and he's off-puttingly friendly and polite to the point that nobody would trust that he's being sincere even though he absolutely is. early boot, maybe second or third.

maybe it's just because I've got cook islands on the brain, but jamie (esp season 1 jamie but like. season 2 as well lmao) would play A LOT like early ozzy. an arrogant wonder-boy who's good at everything (did you know there's literally a survivor casting archetype called the "amazing ace"?), with a heart-wrenching underdog story (playing for richmond, that is), an absolute beast in challenges, a huge threat but always immune, he'd win his way to the end but ultimately be beaten out in final tribal by someone smart enough to have dragged him along as their meat shield the whole game.

and as for rebecca... g-d. this one I think hurts me the most because she has everything going for her, she doesn't have a single one of the problems I've listed for anyone else, but I do genuinely believe that rebecca still loses. she's strong and she's smart and she's assertive and she's ruthless and she's sociable and she's a great liar and she's ambitious and she's ADAPTIBLE (she immediately bounces back after not getting the sun to run the photo of ted and keeley and comes up with an alternate plan that will still serve her own endgame, and by g-d being able to roll with the punches and change course is the single most important thing a survivor player can do), but rebecca still loses.

even if we set aside the fact that survivor on the whole is not particularly kind to women over 40... season 1 rebecca, especially early season 1 rebecca, is spite-motivated to the point of self-destruction. she will set her sights on one target and she will be relentless in her effort to get that person out and it'll make her so myopic that she won't see her own end coming immediately afterwards. nobody on that tribe wants to be her next victim-- better get rid of her once she's proven what she's capable of.

she's also dreadfully insecure in the wake of her divorce and when her polished veneer cracks enough to let it show (how many days of being rained on do we think it'll take for her to slip? my guess is five), some people will see it as the vulnerability that finally allows them to connect with her on a human level, while others will see it as a threatening endgame storyline and an exploitable weakness.

there are some juries, particularly old-school juries, that wouldn't vote for her in the end purely based on the fact that a million dollars is just a drop in the bucket to a woman like rebecca mannion welton. that would be a real shame, and a disservice to the game she would have had to play just to make it that far.

what's more likely than that, though, in my opinion, is that rebecca... loses the drive to win. I think that somewhere along the way survivor stops being a game that she is playing, stops being a competition, and instead becomes a journey of personal growth through adversity. I think she, like ted, stops measuring her success in wins and losses. I think she proves herself more capable and resilient than she ever thought she could be, and that is worth more to her than the money or the title of sole survivor, and she stops fighting for it. and maybe the jury admires that, and gives it to her anyway, rewards her transformation. or maybe they don't. maybe they view it as a concession, a forfeit. but I'm not certain that that moment of revelation happens at the final tribal council. I think it happens just before. I think it happens after the final immunity challenge, and she tearfully and valiantly allows herself to be voted out just inches from the finish line. I think rebecca is the fallen angel of the season, and she goes off to the jury with her head held high, which is nice, and so very noble of her, and the fans would be DYING to have her play again but she wouldn't, because she'll have gotten everything she could have wanted out of her survivor experience, and she doesn't need the crown on top of it.

Seriously though, for me agre is right up there with pet play. It's such a good combo of humiliation and forced helplessness but leaves situations pretty open ended, so you can find yourself up to your neck in fluff or accidentally reach a bad end. The cg being able to do whatever they want, whenever they want while you're at their mercy is such a nice touch.

There are just so many ways for a caregiver to take advantage of you in those scenarios either with classic restraints, old fashioned conditioning/mind break, or even drugging you so you're way too high and content to fight back.

And no matter how nice or mean the caregiver is you just know that your chances of ever being independent again are 0 and you might as well get used to your new lifestyle.

Yes!! It really is. Although I like to think agr3 lends itself to a softer approach (... or does it? hmm 🤔) - at least on the surface, nothing soft about being crammed into a diaper by someone against your will. And that contrast can be so... delicious. But I find it harder to apply it to certain characters - you can slap pet play on almost anyone, but agr3 - tricky (just for me, though. I've read stuff where I went ‼😳 their mind, omg - because I've never considered that specific thought.). Before I got that Overhaul ask yesterday I couldn't think about him in that sense - and I still don't think it'd be more than the occasional punishment for him. It's hard. And I also think some would aim for an 'older little', and some would like a more ambitious age, where it's not quite clear where you're at. Some would just go for it for the humiliation, not the caretaking. And so on and so forth haha. Actually writing it out is a little harder but I might just put out more than the Erasermic fic (respectfully looking at some other characters as we speak haha) Mh and that last paragraph is especially juicy 🥴 I love the thought of an overly mean car3giver, especially when they act all bothered by it on a daily basis. There is just something about it hhh (But I also love sugary sweet, borderline delusional cgs and imo that is SO Mic. At least my Mic haha.)

What can I say? I just freaking love post-canon Rivalshipping with them being awkward adults with Feelings. This fic feels very domestic and natural. I love them bonding, developing relationship and just being casual. The Kaiba Brothers dynamic is also to die for! I love the slice-of-life feeling in this. Some scenes can be borderline suggestive and slightly steamy but nothing too-heavy! This isn’t completed yet but it’s still worth a read!

The Beauty That Remains by reyisawesome - Rate: M. AU.

GOOD, GOOD AU FOR RIVALSHIPPING AAHHH!!! It’s so rare for any AU stories for Rival, and this one is Very Fitting! It’s horror and there’s slight violence, but the kind that’s very fitting for YGO. It’s like a mix of canon-story into an AU. Rival started out not in very good terms at first but it turns out to be one of the sweetest Rival fic ever! Life being a public idol-figure sure is hard, and it’s getting a toll into Yugi’s mind and wellbeing. Pressure from the media, pressure to live up to others’ expectation, his own insecurity, feeling like he will forever live behind Atem’s shadow. Not only that but there’s also his growing crush for Seto freaking Kaiba. Wonderful. This really hits hard, personally for me. I really like this fic and Yugi’s struggles!

Soulmate AU in which they discover their soulmates~ And Rivalboys are soulmates~~ They didn’t believe it at first because they’re the epitome of “polar opposites”, and absolutely makes No Sense to be together, and as SOULMATES, nonetheless?? Is this a joke? But nope, it’s real, and it’s just fun and cute with them discovering things up. I really enjoy reading it.

It’s also a Rivalshipping-focused Flare, meaning it focuses on Rivalshipping development. It’s an absolute gorgeous FANTASY SCI-FI STORY FILLED WITH WARMTH AND FEELINGS. The Rivalshipping development is top-notch and if you love a Kaiba who just Loves Yugi and protective of him, this is a good read for that. Atem doesn’t appear much, but the fic isn’t finished yet, and I think Prideship moments will appear soon so for you Pride fans, you don’t have to worry.

It’s one of the best written Rival out there with solid development to all characters, and solid development to the supportive characters / side-relationship too. They’re going to a beach house together with Mokuba and his school friends. It’s a very heart-warming bonding fic with lots of fun but of course including some drama too because this is RIVALSHIPPING, they gotta be like That.

Fantasy AU with magic and superpowers! Really beautifully written and a very nice pace. Yugi is Mokuba’s tutor and their dynamic is really cute and fun. Fantasy AUs is very rare to find for Rivalshipping and this one is such a gem! <3 Their dynamic especially with Mokuba is just the best <3 They’re like a small family! Personally for me, Mokie is the highlight of this fic! He’s so hardworking and caring and just So Cute!! This story will also include some Action, and the build-up is really nice!

Your Love Will Kill Me by Pharaoh_Ink & shadow13 - Rate: M. Canon-verse (DSOD)

WOWOWOWW!! A yandere!Kaiba story! With gorgeous Slow-Burn and delicious Tension <3 It’s a more chilling alternate route from DSOD, story about the Love that is borderline Obsession. It’s really great, and get you on edge at times <3 This fic is ofc not for everyone, and you really have to read the tags and warnings first. If you can handle this kind of story, I think it’s really great <3

Japanese youkai, like kitsune, bakeneko, etc. In this AU, Kaiba is a nine-tailed fox (kitsune), and Yugi is a cat spirit (bakeneko), and you might think “youkai? then is it horror?” NO!! in fact, this is just one of the Cutest, Most Fluffiest AU I’ve read!! Alright yall im gonna say it. send me hate and unfollow me and block me and shit if you want, but im gonna stand by it

the “cringe culture is dead” crowd is often hypocritical, and with awfully specific kinds of online communities. By that, I mean the very same communities the cringe culture crowd targets as well. Let’s take an example I have seen the most rampant hatred towards for no real reason other than the content itself is a little dorky.

If I said “Sanders Sides,” would it make you flinch? “But that’s different!” No it’s not. Remember when Thomas Sanders got a shit load of hate on this website for [checks notes] saying ace people were welcome in the LGBT community and ALSO admittedly making a dumb mistake that wasn’t rooted in any form of hatred but a legitimate slip-up, but he owned up to it and pledged to do better, which he actually did in the future by being more careful? I feel like that’s where all this bullshit all started. I remember before that when Thomas Sanders was just this quirky vine star who everyone was either fond of or indifferent towards. I was on the fond side, because he was this expressive theatre kid making fun vines with his friends and it got through the drag of waiting until 5pm every day in school for my dad to get off his teaching/admin work there and 2 hour bus commutes to work. He acted like my friends and I, and his sense of humour is very similar to my own. 

I mostly stopped watching him after I moved out, not because I don’t like him, I guess I just stopped. Don’t have to violently hate something to stop consuming it, guys. Hell, you can even still actively like it! That’s okay! I still LOVE doctor who, but I don’t really watch it anymore because I didn’t have the time, and now I’m so far behind that it kind of intimidated me out of catching up, and that’s OKAY!! 

Also, I don’t know anything about sanders sides, but I have noticed a few points yall like to bully people for: being “cringeworthy,” the fact that Thomas is now 30 and still making his content, and that the fandom behind it seems quite young/queer/many of them exhibit the behaviors of autistic/ADHD folks with a special interest/hyperfixation in his content. I’m not saying yall consciously bully them because of that, but the correlation in what you like to point out is quite stark. So let’s hit these points one at at a time, yeah?

-Yes, Thomas is 30. That’s how time works. If you trace it back and do the math, he would have been in his mid-20s when he started making his content on vine. That’s... still not that old. You can be creative and quirky at any age, you don’t magically lose your drive to create and become a desk jockey when you hit like... 25. You’re allowed to have a personality, and keep the traits you like from your younger years even if they might seem “childish.” Acting like he’s cringey because he’s 30 and still makes colourful OCs is harmful to everyone involved, because it perpetuates this idea that you have to throw away your personality and the things that make you happy, and foots the notion that life after youth is lesser and awful, yet anyone who doesn’t subscribe to that idea is a social deviant. I PROMISE that mindset will do nothing but hurt you in the long term. 

-”Cringeworthy” content is not fair game to bully people for. I thought we agreed that bullying kids that like Fortnite is a shitty thing to do, because even if we don’t understand the hype and find the game itself kinda weird, we knew what that felt like when adults did that to us with Minecraft. We liked Thomas Sanders vines, so why is it somehow different when kids like his new content? “hhh he made weird pose in purple eyeliner with emo haircut” so what?? and??? He’s playing a character, that’s what he does. We should know that about him after seeing his old content, and even if he wasn’t, are you seriously going to shit on someone for acting “weird” when this website’s demographic is overwhelmingly made up of the kind of people who get that same ostracizing behavior from greater society and come here for an escape?? 

-And this same point applies to his fanbase: I don’t give a shit if they act “weird” for that same reason. See above for what the demographic of it seems to be from what I’ve seen. “Don’t bully kids for liking ‘cringe’ things or acting in ways that might seem ‘strange’ but don’t actually hurt anyone because oftentimes what you’ve been taught is bully-worthy behavior is the symptoms of autism/ADHD/queer kids having fun exploring their identities!!” you FUCKING hypocrites.

28. Who should have been a companion but wasn’t?

I think last time I did these asks I talked about Kirsty? and I still stand by that, I love her. she would have been so much fun as a companion. but this time I'm going to throw in Molly from Evil of the Daleks as well!! I just find her super endearing even though she doesn't have much screentime. she's shown as adventurous and clever and bold enough to challenge the lie that Victoria's in Paris.

and I think she would have had fun dynamics with Two and Jamie as well - we don't get much of her with Two, but she clearly sees him on the same level as Maxtible and Waterfield and is a bit flustered and nervous interacting with him, so it would have been fun to have a character who was kind of. similar to Katerina in a way, with a little bit of push-and-pull between a companion who's expecting the Doctor to act in a particular social role, and a Doctor who's adamant that they're something else entirely. and Molly has a little bit of that gentle tension with Jamie too, in the scene where he's insisting she use his name, and the way she's a bit intimidated by him but also wants to look after him. I love Victoria dearly of course but it would've been interesting to see them pick up Molly instead!

30. Who did you not used to like, but really like now?

oougfjhkd idk omg!! I think I came to most eras of the show with an expectation that there's something good about everyone. Clara definitely grew on me but that's more to do with the writing and the fact that she's a more interesting character in s9 than in s7 (which isn't necessarily a bad thing!! like Moffat made some Dodgy choices obvs but I also don't think it's the worst thing in the world to have her unfold to the audience, and in many ways she grows and changes quite naturally). in terms of classic who, maybe Peri? not that I didn't like her when I started watching her episodes, but I didn't expect to like her as much as I did.

34. Best two-parter?

the first one that jumped into my mind was World Enough and Time/the Doctor Falls and. yeah I do genuinely think they're brilliant episodes and probably my favourite new who series finale. the shift away from 'the series ends/the Doctor regenerates after a universe-ending disaster' was such a breath of fresh air.

The Stolen Earth and Journey's End are also super fun to me. like they're just so silly and fan service-y that I can't help but love them. + I have really fond memories of just having gotten into Torchwood, going on holiday and having no wifi to rewatch it, so watching that two-parter just for the Torchwood content.

there's a lot of others that I like though! the Empty Child/the Doctor Dances, the Magician's Apprentice/the Witch's Familiar, Hell Bent/Heaven Sent. even ones like the Rebel Flesh/the Almost People and Under the Lake/Before the Flood have some cool ideas in them, though they're not really top of my rewatch list.

42. Favourite series?

HHH okay favourite new who series is definitely s10. I'm lesbian.

tempted to say s4 for classic who? all of Two's serials are strong ones (I mean. there's not really a Two serial I dislike except the Space Pirates), I love Ben and Polly, and the War Machines and the Tenth Planet are really good as well. the only one letting the side down for me is the Smugglers honestly, and that's mostly because I hardly remember it rather than me thinking it's bad.

s5 and s6 are close contenders though!!
