Countdown Cameras (8) : The Valley of the Fallen The camera vantage there is out of the way, despite having a trail that leads to it. The bridge at the forefront is different and there are a few details absent but there isn't much difference otherwise.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The detail with the bird sculpture is an asset that is used in other parts of the world.

I did a little bit of climbing xD The big horus tentacle is also way more mossy than during the countdown. I'm not gonna say no to more moss, however. More moss is always good. xD

Of course the main difference, ultimately, is the total absence of a stormbird. At least we get sneaky giant bat instead…

I played around and recolored this to complement @robo-dino-puppy's VP here, but this is an actual photo of what lies

The geography of the Horizon games doesn't match up exactly to the real world, so parts of No Man's Land represent areas much further west than this. However, the No Man's Land Relic Ruin is the Zion Human History Museum, which is actually INSIDE Zion National Park. Just outside the park is the town of Springdale, Utah, and the vista beyond is what you see here.
It was much less orange in person.
Hope you like it!

I hope you've been enjoying
Sacred Land Summer
I plan to round it out with reblogs of my Old Ones Guides* to various locales within Aloy's homeland, as well as reblogging more of you all's on-theme virtual photography, fan art, and more. Come September, I'll finally be moving on to highlighting other lands in the world of Horizon.
I'd love to do more collaborations like I did with @robo-dino-puppy, so let me know if you'd be interested in teaming up!
I expect I'm going to be quite busy in the coming months, but rest assured, I have many adventures in store for you down the road!
Your friendly neighborhood
Horizon travel guide,
GentlyRowan

These are just a few of the shots I got in the northern Devotee Camp in the Burning Shores area. While it’s no small detail by any means, it is worth noting that this is clearly Tenakth architecture, with touches of Quen architecture located primarily in things like the lights. Of course, seeing as this is a Devotee Outpost, all the people found here were Quen, just like the rest of them. This raises one question- how did these Devotees get the outpost? For this, I’d say one of two things- Either the Tenakth previously stationed there left, or were killed. Regardless of how it happened though, it is interesting seeing how Tenakth and Quen architecture look in the same area.

Ooh I also have horizon 3 thoughts/predictions!
I think Vast Silver is gonna be involved somehow maybe to combat Nemesis, or possibly in a dlc like we had Cyan from Frozen Wilds? Since it’s the final game it seems likely they’ll finally have Aloy meet this mysterious elusive AI.
Also thinking Elysium will be the ruins location (like how we had the Alpha’s place in HZD and Thebes in HFW) since we’ve heard about it but not found it yet
I was also hoping to finally explore Oseram territory when looking for these old world weapons, seems Oseram delving could come in handy there. Depends if they’re gonna introduce more new tribes across the sea like the Quen or further explore the ones they have currently, maybe both? Like half the map is across the sea/Quen territory and half is the mainland 🤔
It’s exciting to think about anyway! Can’t wait for your thoughts!
I totally agree about VAST SILVER and Elysium. They're one of the very few oft-mentioned threads left hanging since the beginning of the series. I do think their plot relevance will be connected--VS involved in whatever befell Elysium--but even if they're not intertwined, they'll be integral.
I'm thinking we'll have to befriend VS to be a boon in our efforts against HEPH and/or Nemesis. Given 1) VS's disposition in the Burning Shores datapoint and 2) Elisabet's (therefore Aloy's and Beta's) connection with Anita Sandoval--therefore VS's potential development re: AI and the illegal Turing number--there's a lot there to be explored.
As for Elysium, I'm betting it'll be part of The Claim. Since The Claim was originally intended to be part of HZD, there's an overwhelming chance that it'll be involved in HFW. Petra for ealdorwoman PLEASE. Also, there's hints that point to Elysium being there. It's "within miles of" GAIA Prime, per HZD datapoints, which could put its ruin in The Claim.
As for new tribes--I genuinely hope we don't get any. At all. We already couldn't give all of the existing tribes their due in HFW (where were the Banuk?) and to add more in H3 would be unnecessary bloat, given the scope of what the game has to accomplish.
Related to that last point--and potentially a very, very controversial opinion--I don't think we'll be actually seeing Quen lands. Londra's data at the end of Burning Shores gives us five places to investigate, some we've seen, some we haven't, all in the same geographical vicinity as the regular map. (One of the looks to be near Malmstrom Air Base...HELLO BAN-UR!) Given that we have to deal with HEPH and Nemesis and bringing together all of the existing tribes--to handle the Quen revolution just doesn't fit. Plus the decentralization from the last two games is dissonant, to place half the map there...not to mention some of the continued problematic optics that would come up if the revolution turns into Aloy's Doing. Save that for a future spin-off.
...or, more likely, I do believe a contingency of the Quen will be coming to us as H3's primary human enemy (as the Eclipse or the Rebels). GIVE ME LOYALIST FEDERA.
I personally think the map will be centered on Meridian, extending to the Sacred Land in the east, with a somewhat condensed map of the West to Legacy's Landfall--with new areas of The Claim and Banuk to the north.

About the Project
Tumblr media
It all started out as more of an in-joke. The classic “haha…but what if…” really got us, what can we say.
Tumblr media
So many fans, myself included, discovered these games over the course of the pandemic, and many more joined into the community in the months that followed the release of HFW. Fans were making photomode compilations, editing together character videos or location gifs, creating more art and transformative written media of our blorbos than ever before. Our love of the game deepened with exploration of the world and interacting with the characters, and engaging and connecting with other fans of beloved companion characters, new and old. We had an incredible year of making new friends and making new things, all of us bonding over these games we all love so dearly.  We were having the greatest fun, and the drive to create would ebb and flow, but the desire to engage with the community never fully dissipated.
Always a calm before the storm, isn’t there? And like Aloy facing the storms and inclement weather on the horizon, the fandom community was about to face some challenges as well.
After a spike in internet discourse regarding the flashpoint options at the end of the DLC – and its implications for the direction regarding romance in future games – many fans were dealing with mixed feelings barely a month after it was released. So, we all hunkered down, did our best to make light of the whole situation, and searched for something — any kind of motivational inspiration — to wait these rough tides out. Fandom is inherently built on community, and there are so many good things about the pockets of community we have made with others over the course of the last few years. In searching for solidarity, we have turned out stronger for this project in collaborating and uplifting those around us.
In an effort to give back and put out some positive energy back into our fandom space, we’ve come together as a community to create something for everyone to enjoy. This crazy project was born out of taking an offhand idea and turning it into a serious endeavor, and the ride thus far has been so fun.
The premise of our game is an exploration of Aloy’s mental and emotional state through the mechanics of a visual novel. Our adventure takes place around 3 months after the events of her adventures in the ruins of Los Angeles. During this time, she’s been recovering from an injury and poring over datapoints with Beta and Sylens, searching for anything to help prepare for the looming threat of NEMESIS — until she receives a message regarding a companion’s goings-on that piques her interest. Facing physical challenges and emotional choices, Aloy will be in for an adventure unlike any she’s experienced before.

Once you are able to access the base, over time, you will find more items left by the different characters you meet and team up with. That alone is a nice little detail, but I wanted to talk about what if we’re going off of the contents, appears to be a compost bin of some sort. What really caught my eye about this bin though would be how it appears to be made. While the idea of a compost bin seems more like something that the Utaru would create, the structure and materials are closer to that of an Oseram creation. The biggest giveaway for this would be the fact that instead of being woven, like most containers in Utaru settlements, it is instead made of wood and held together with metal.
