Alfa Romeo Carabo
The Carabo project was a collaborative effort between the Italian manufacturer and the Bertone styling house: a partnership which had previously borne fruits that included the 2000 Sportiva and BAT concept cars of the mid-1950s. The basis of the Carabo was a chassis numbered 75033.109 which was, more specifically, that of a 33 Stradale road car. Despite sharing mechanicals with the Tipo 33 race car and since being recognised as one of the most beautiful cars in history, Alfa had trouble finding owners for the Stradale due to its steep asking price of around $17,000. As a result, five of the Stradale chassis were passed to Italian carrozzerie: two to Pininfarina (used for the 33.2 and Cuneo concepts), one to Italdesign (which became the Iguana concept), and two to Bertone – the other being used as a basis for the 1976 Navajo concept.
The H-shaped tubular chassis supported an all-aluminium 1995cc engine which was designed by Carlo Chiti and, incidentally, was the first Alfa Romeo V8. The fuel-injected, longitudinally mounted motor used chain-driven camshafts and red-lined at 10,000rpm, despite being detuned to 230bhp from the Tipo race car’s 250-270bhp. This granted the Carabo a top speed of 160mph and the ability to dispatch the 0-62mph sprint in 5.5 seconds, with the power being sent to the rear wheels through a six-speed, syncromeshed, transaxle gearbox designed by Valerio Colotti.
Because of its underpinnings, designer Marcelo Gandini had the opportunity to create a car that would revolutionise the automotive industry for many years afterwards. The engine being mounted amidships allowed for a pointed front end, while the ground-hugging poise inherited from the Tipo race car meant the car was under a metre tall at its highest point. Combined with the squared-off rear end, these characteristics inspired countless wedge-shaped designs of the 70s and 80s, and also gave the car its name and colour: Carabo is derived from ‘Carabidae’, a family of ground-beetles with a distinctive green and gold colour.
The principle of the wedge-shaped profile was used to eliminate the high-speed aerodynamic lift troubles of the Lamborghini Miura, which Gandini had penned two years earlier. However, his innovative cerebration didn’t stop there: as well as having headlights hidden beneath active flaps, the Carabo was the first concept car with front-hinged wing doors, later used by Gandini when designing the Lamborghini Countach and since assuming the ‘Lamborghini doors’ meme. As well as inspiring the revolutionary raging bull, the Carabo clearly also lent styling cues to the Lancia Stratos Zero concept car, which in turn inspired the iconic Stratos HF. Unsurprisingly, the Carabo remained a one-off, but its revolutionary styling dramatically steered the automotive design industry onto a radically different path – one which produced some of the landmark cars of the 20th Century. Even those who can’t look favourably on its apparent aversion to curved surfaces should take a second to appreciate its legacy; after all, would an Aventador have quite the same drama without its ‘Carabo doors’?

So…..a few months ago I convinced my sibling to let me make the NPMD characters on the sims, just for laughs. Well that snowballed into creating all of Hatchetfield. And over the course of this some iconic things have occurred in the game that we’ve decided we need to share with the fandom, so welcome to our Sims blog! -👁️
Tumblr media
The main point of this blog is that during the months we’ve been playing we’ve acquired a lot of ridiculous screen shots as we try to make a “plot” of sorts.
Things to keep in mind:
We have stuck pretty close to canon, but this is our versions of Hatchetfield. We have our own headcanons and fave ships, if you don’t agree that’s totally cool, but please keep it civil if you disagree.
(I like to call our version of HF the happy ending version, you know, if everything went sort of right)
We are still in the process of making every character(there’s a lot)
Not every character we have put in gets played, our main sets we play with are the Nerds(+ Steph & Max), Paulkins & Ted.
We might take some liberties with the characters because we prefer to play a relatively unmodded game. (I don’t have it in me to go CC hunting rnow-⏳) At the moment we just have command center & a high school classmates mod for ease of control.
Some of our sims are from scratch & some we found on the gallery then made edits to.
Posts about the game/gameplay will be tagged #thehatchetsims.
There are two of us running this blog! Since we're siblings + controlling the sims feels very lords in black behavior, we started referring to ourselves after our favorites, so on this blog we're going by Tinky ⏳ & Blinky 👁.

Lancia Hyena Zagato
The Lancia Delta Integrale HF Evoluzione II is perhaps the holy grail of rally homologation specials. It’s an icon of a bygone era, and chopping one up to build something of your own would be considered the ultimate form of automotive sacrilege.
Of course, that hasn’t always been the case. Back in 1990, Dutch classic car collector Paul Koot decided that his boxy little hatchback would be far better off as a svelte coupe. Having made a few sketches, he approached everyone’s favourite bonkers Italian design house...
Two years later, Zagato finally showed the world its handiwork. Hand-built from aluminium was a stunning, stocky little body with the marque’s infamous double-bubble roof and a completely bespoke carbon fibre interior.
The Delta Integrale’s rally-bred running gear remained – under the bonnet was the same 2.0-litre turbocharged four-cylinder engine, although power was upped from 215bhp to 250bhp – and the whole thing was 120kg lighter than the original.
Christened the Hyena, Zagato made plans to put its redesign into full production. Fiat, though, was not having any of it, and refused to supply Zagato with any base chassis. In the end, Koot went and bought finished HF Integrales only for Zagato to strip them back to bare shells. Madness.
As you might have guessed, this made Hyenas really rather expensive (list price was around the same as a new 911 Carrera at the time) and only 24 examples were ever completed.
That makes them rare beasts today, though, and it’s not often that one comes up for sale.

Unique Skyrim Guard Armor
I wanted to think of how different holds should have different armor, especially in the wake of a civil war and lack of central authority. I created all these using HeroForge, so was somewhat limited by resources and sometimes a lack of irl inspiration. I did try to add some rust here or there to add the soft-post-apoc feeling that Skyrim tried to have.
Tumblr media
Whiterun - went with a more Mongolian look, with the closest thing to lamellar armor HF has, and a focus on bows and farther ranged weapons. Whiterun's focus on horses and flat plains makes the mongol comparison feel apt.
Tumblr media
Windhelm - Went with a heavier look with a Russian inspiration, based on Eastmarch's location and climate, it feels right to have these guys look big and intimidating.
Tumblr media
Dawnstar - As a plain of snow and coast, feels right to have the Pale guards be the closest to that iconic Viking look. The cream/yellow color of the cloth is based on their actual armor. I did consider to maybe make them more like the Sami, but I wasn't sure about it. This also feels right for the Hold that's more a bunch of sticks than anything.
Tumblr media
Markarth - This is my fave design mixing Scottish highlands clothing with some Inca inspiration while still keeping the colors of Markarth. Makes sense for a mountainous region, and one rich in metal and dwemer armor. This is partly inspired by @elbiotipo's idea of Reachmen inspired by Inca.
Tumblr media
Falkreath - This one is a bit basic, went for gambeson with a gothic plate. I'll be honest, was hard to consider a decent design for a hold known at best for like, hunting and having the biggest graveyard. Cold damp and miserable feels like the english and so thats what I went for.
Tumblr media
Morthal - For a dark swampy terrain filled with skeletons and spiders, a light armored guard with a torch and heavy staff felt appropriate. Although honestly, feels like they should be wearing simple peasant's garb more likely. No real inspiration for this one, just a bit of vibes.
Tumblr media
Riften - This was essentially "we pressganged some petty thieves outside the guild to keep quiet on the street." with a scary mask added for looks and to keep the identities of those thieves safe from guild retribution. The head wrapping comes from dark elf refugees whose protective wear became common in the city.
Tumblr media
Winterhold - Okay so I know the Jarl doesn't like the college however fuck that we need make Winterhold interesting - so you see a lot heavier gear for the intense cold and alpine environment along with a dragon staff you see in the game. Feels like it makes sense, alone in the wilderness with rampant ice elementals, no one's going to refuse a staff that makes fire.
Tumblr media
Solitude - I'll be honest I made this at 4am. Roman inspiration obv but also thought it be funny to just stick the more modern knight helmmet to show how hodgepodge every hold is, even solitude.
