i decided i wanted to write a hybrid full plot summary of the mother 2 novel and an analysis, but thats WAY too much work for me to do, so it’s on the back burner for now. however there’s something in the book that compares ness and pokey in a way that i SUPER like, and it makes me appreciate some aspects of the novel despite its really flawed flaws.

i already summarized the portion of text in my draft, so here it is: its explained that ness’s father is away on a business trip managing his food chain “ness burger.” the reason it exists at all (and is named after his son) is because ness’s father made a burger to his picky son’s liking, and it was a hit with the locals. he later got tied in with a contract that placed him into a lot of debt under a man named aloysius minch (thats pokeys father, but you know that), and most of his profit is siphoned to him. minch has a very successful chain of supermarkets, which supply ness burger. he plans on decreasing the quality of the burgers and letting the gossip fly from there. he wants ness’s father to become insecure of the brands ability to be successful, then coax him into selling the business to him, where then he will rebrand it to “pokey burger” and restore the quality of the product.

i honestly like that. i dont know if this detail will be mentioned again, but it highlights the difference between pokey and ness’s relationships with their fathers. ness burger was founded simply out of a fathers love for his son, and aloysius saw that love as an opportunity to take advantage of another person and profit. then he wants to rebrand it and mimic another family’s father-son relationship, like performative love. it’s SO jarring that aloysius doesn’t actually do anything different. just uproots an unsuspecting father and slaps his own sons face over his family business so he can say “hey, son! look at me being such a selfless father, giving you your own burger joint.” cause pokey im gonna be real with you thats a little tragic. it couldve been executed better, but i see it and i like it…. im still appalled by an authors ability to make a game series called “mother” about characters relationships with their fathers 😭

meet my new Dandy's World OCs: Arthis the paint bucket, Lex the runner, and Vermon the heart !!

Arthis (he/it) is a happy-go-lucky Toon with a bubbly personality! He's an artist so his imagination always runs on high gear, and he always seems to find light and inspiration no matter how dreary the situations he might find himself in ... After all, he believes that everything that happen's all a "happy accident!"

Lex (they/them) is a boisterous Toon who's all about exercising and staying fit! They enjoy working up a sweat in all the things they do, even if the task may be as mundane as sweeping the floor.

Vermon (he/him) is a caring physician who looked after the wellbeing of the guests and staff of the Gardenview Center. He was also responsible for the health of his fellow Toons and, as a Main Character, was a star who helped kids learn the importance of staying healthy!

An incident that led to the Gardenview Center closing down, had left Vermon in pretty bad shape, however. Ichor has badly disfigured him both in body and mind—his once bright personality diminished and he became uneasy about himself and others around him, fearing the day he eventually loses control of himself and succumbs to the corruption.

Disney PJO is mellow

post with spoilers, duh. srly I doubt I'm thinking anything new, but I need these thoughts out of my head!

i recently watched Season 1 out of curiosity (i know, so late) and wow! first impression is how they mellowed out almost everything. I'm re-reading book 1 to double check my impressions and coulnd't get past chapter 3 without writing this post, because the changes in tone are so drastic!

HUGE POST BELOW kinda rant-y

First things first: I adore they decided to cast age aproprite actors, make the insanity they go thorugh obviously insane! (im englishing well)

That said: Percy in the books is an angry lil shit! Boy was ready to throw down with anyone and everyone. Series!Percy barely has a funcionting personality. Not dishing on the actor! When the character is supposed to be angry and angst-y, I can see him doing his best <3 My critique is with the writing. It seems they decided to make Percy more approable and relatable as a "good kid" as opposed to a traumatized ADHD student with consistent behavioural issues. It happened in the movies too. Movie!Percy got to be snappy because the actors and audience were older, but not nearly the level of rage and disrespect a 16 year old could have.

Given how mild series!Percy home life is vs book!Percy I don't mind as much as the the series develops because it looks like character development after repeated murder attempts.

Which brings me to point 2 - the reason I can't get past chapter 3: SALLY FUCKING JACKSON! She's a saltless cracker, overgrown teenager still wheeping over her summer romance with "the guy"! I knew the fandom had glorified her, I've seen some posts "hey, did you actually read the book?" And I hadn't since middle school, so my memory was clouded, but fucks sake! I was drinking the emo Kool-Aid to forget that mess of a plot hole. Thank fuck they rebranded series!Sally. She actually has a personality and seems like to know what is what and try to prepare Percy as a demigod who will outgrow her protection.

The diner flashback scene in which she talks to Poseidon helps her "I knew all along" know it all attitude, which doesn't work in the books because as far as she explains it: she and Poseison did the do, she got pregant and they never saw each other again. No reason to be greek mythology geek, definitly not enough to know about camp and the lastest breaking news in the mythic world.

(Poseidon's involvement creates some morality questions for me, some "how are we going to handle some topics later on" issues when episode 3 comes up, but more on that later)

I blinked and missed the reveal that she married Gabe to protect Percy, and the cascading logic of how her different personalities affected that marriage is mindblowing.

It affects the type of Gabe she married, therefore, how much of his abuse was Sally's fault. Series!Sally has agency and talks back, the kind of woman I can see attracting a god. More importantly, if she's making the decision to deliberately put her beloved son in contact with a nasty person whose smell will deter monsters, she won't put up with a monster herself, rather a loser who might as well be stanky trash sitting in the corner for too long. B

ook!Sally just doesn't sell that kind of confidence and since the books are first person POV we have to postulate that over the years Sally fell victim to Gabe's abuse (resulting in her lack of outstanding personality) and justified staying in the relatioship as "protecting Percy", which makes her complicit. Which is not great mom. And I do remember later in the books its resolved off screen and she "marries a nice guy, florishes as a person and has his baby". Errrr.... It's fiction, and I don't care for the mother character abused for the sake of her child to be saved by another marriage and have another child.

3: don't have much to say about Groover, I love him every time. <3 Book!Grover whines more and is a bit of a coward, while series!Groover is more like the sweet resilient pacificist that chooses non-violance. (and a twelve year actor saying "I'm 24" to Ares was hilarious!)

4: WILL ANY INSTALMENT WILL EVER SOLVE THE MYSTERY OF CHIRON AT PERCY'S PRIVATE SCHOOL?

He is the one functioning "trust worthy" adult in the entire camp and he leaves for months at a time to teach at private schools? Leaving behind, I don't know, teenagers and a drunk god to look after the smaller ADHD kids with powers all year round? Does no one see a problem with this? *side eye*

As a plot device it only serves to give Percy A SUPER POWERFUL SWORD WITHOUT HIM EVER HAVING BEING TRAINED FOR IT, and to have Percy trust him before arriving at the crazy camp that regularly send children to their deaths.

(AND THEN THAT PONY HAS THE AUDACITY TO PIKACHU FACE WHEN PERCY IS REAVALED POSEIDON'S KID WHEN ITS IMPLIED THE ONLY REASON HE WAS AT THAT SCHOOL, AWAY FROM HIS OTHER HUNDRED UNDER AGE CHARGES, WAS TO PROTECT PERCY THE BIG THREE KID NO ONE KNEW WAS A BIG THREE KID)

I will probably have more thoughts as I reread the book. I think I will write my impressions of series!Annabeth before she turns up in the next chapter so I have a more controled before and after impressions.

so far, overall, I was bored up until episode 3 with Medusa, and boy! that's when you can tell Uncle Rick is involved in the production process. After the first book series being critized for lacking diversity, he did his homework on many polarizing subjects which I appreciate being talked about in middle grade books/ series. And I think that will bite him in the ass when it polarizes the fandom in coming seasons and Disney cuts him out.

hey everyone! i apologize for the lack of activity on here! my personal life and work has just taken a toll on me both mentally and emotionally, ive been working on things here and there plus doing more personal art for myself and its been nice BUT ive been thinking about potentially renaming my brand. i love osodemiel but i just think it may deter ppl away if they dont get it immediately SO im making a poll to help decide what direction i wanna go in !!

another thing, related to my last announcement post, the free shipping option will become unavailable starting the new year of 2025! i go a bit more in depth in this post BUT i wanted to add to that as i will be attending college starting Jan. 6 and need to save as much money to pay for my classes. Hey guys! finally got a update again! there was a delay about a week ago since I got stuck with figuring out how to make Leo playable in this demo. while I could use a global value or flags to resolve this, I wanted to use events that make it easy to remember instead of using values or flags I decided to copy the test level and make it up into 2 separate scenes so we can switch Meryl and Leo!

Now with that issue out of the way, all that needs to be done left is to make finishing touches with the other 2 modes. There won't be any changes to the controls with item or sound tests, only the background color and additional music and few items to be added for the test! there might be new features to be included but for now this is all I can say!

Im posting here to let my followers know this is not dead and still ongoing. hopefully will be done tonight or tomorrow morning depends how Im doing!

the delay was taken up by ripping things from n64 game Conker for another side project which you will find out on my Rare Unofficial blog! This blog is for Earthbound related works only so lets stay on topic about that here lmao.

By the way, I have good news but it might not sound much. Gavin Thomas's portfolio site is back on just recent but currently no Oddity yet. He mentioned a website for Oddity couple years ago which might happen soon since he is currently active with doing sprite art for a mentioned "demo". Gav even predicted that Oddity will come around 2025 and thats next year! but its currently hard to believe at the moment as its still too early for them to announce anything after many years of broken promises, lies, and so much show off plus the team done a bit of abuse with bullying and ghosting around their community and I just happen to be one of their "victims" since I was on their Discord! :(

Oddity staff should be considered notorious, full of secrecy, toxic individuals, and poorly mismanaged! If I were the team, they should give up their game since its no longer the "Mother 4" we wanted anymore and even someone else said that the whole "rebrand" was only excuse to further delay their game and anger their followers! It makes you wonder how a fan project from 2008 could still go on this far when it was once handled by a much more friendly, loving, caring, and more social group back in the day before stupid Pastel came to ruined Azure's project that could been faithful for a Mother 3 follow up but as it already turn out, they screwed up and not anyone else besides that other group https://mother4.org/ ever accomplish a single Mother 4 attempt!

and thats why this project happen, I'll be the very first to make Mother 4 happen for real because I have all the time and THE GUTS to make my own follow up for Mother 3, a game that will never likely continue unless another company buys the EB franchise one day.

While this version of Mother 4 won't be accurate to Oddity's changed storyline, the characters and setting will remain the same because this project was meant to kick off Mother 4 from when it was last seen as a EB fan sequel before the rebrand with everything I gathered from what was already been known so far as of 2019.

The leaks made a excellent resource I wish this could been done the same with Kirby Cosmic Chaos (another fan project we also lost) but since theres nothing leaked from that other fan game we're screwed with Cosmic Chaos anyway lol.

Theres also very few leaked things found from the other Mother 4 but its not much. This project is to serve as a makeup from the mistake that both Mother 4 teams failed to provide or done yet, they hardly stay in touch with their community and let alone not sharing a single demo! Thats why Im doing this, the very early demos is to serve the followers here to give them a idea how the game will be played like. they are only proof of concepts and does not show the exact look of the game once I get down to the bigger versions of this project!

I had a few confused people in the past few weeks who mistaken my game for what it is. I want to clear up that the demos was something I would do with all my other previous projects since 2006. I always start with experimental demos and this shows! the experimental demos is to test the controls, sound, and other important features we might see in the finished game but at the moment you will have to enjoy what I can provide for now. I don't have all the resources to make a complete Mother 4 yet but at least whatever we got from the leaks can help with my own version of Mother 4 lmao.

By the way, I plan on going back to Starmen.net since Earthbound Eternal is still very inactive with fewer people online there. I used to update my project there but now my main page would be both Game Jolt and Earthbound Eternal as I have no better place where to share my games! :(

Mediafire would be a risky choice as I heard some files went missing on Mediafire plus Dropbox has limited space and only useful for personally sharing files privately with a friend or community.

Internet Archive would be another great choice but Im currently unable to share stand alones there due to virus total scanning them there and calling them malware when they are not! Im only able to share project files there so if you got your own copy of clickteam, you can make the stand alone yourself to run the game that way! However I like to stick with Game Jolt and Earthbound Eternal to release my EB games and demos!

Yeah it's sort of a mess I'm actively editing right now tbh, as I go through the midst of this Self-Realignment Ritual/Public facing Rebrand?

Its been a long time since I edited Tumblr themes so I'm doing a sloppy job of it. TBH I'd suggest people interested in my Homestuck content just use my blog as a link to the Apocryphon right now, since it's the most relevant and interesting thing I've done by far atm. Like I've said previously, I'd be happy if people just started talking about that with the #Pumpkin Path or #Pumpkin Track tag. As far as Im concerned, everything else on my blog ATM is a distraction.

Alternatively if they're looking for my analysis work, I'd suggest peeps try checking out my Medium profile. That was always where my best work was hosted; I never managed to port it all to Youtube practically and Tumblr just wasn't as good at letting me use images to supplement arguments.

I have major essays on Rose and Kanaya, Dave and Karkat, Jane Crocker and Gamzee Makara, Dirk Strider, the whole Active/Passive Class system, and Homestuck's influence from stuff like Gnosticism, The Neverending Story, and Earthbound/Mother 3 on there. Heck, there's even an essay or two on non-Homestuck subjects, like my ZEAL-published piece on BOKTAI: THE SUN IS IN YOUR HAND (2003) Of course there's also always the Youtube channel, and content should be getting started up again there relatively soon as well. By nature its also a bad idea to change branding too much on youtube, so fans of optimisticDuelist specifically can expect that house style to mostly stay the same, with maybe a surprise or two inside the framing of Youtube videos themselves (;3)

My tumblr is not exactly in a state for public consumption yet and I'm mostly using it as personal catharsis/to mess around and cope. I'm not even reblogging/posting much Homestuck, i seem to be defaulting to reblogging Boktai and other stuff like that instead atm! I don't expect that to change very much for the time being unless I start engaging with Pumpkin Path discussion or fanart, but that hasn't manifest on Tumblr basically at all yet.

i just wanted to share about where ive been for the past couple months. My life has just been super busy. Ive graduated with my first degree, moved away from home for the first time, working on my second degree, and have been doing so much stuff irl. With all this happening streaming and youtube have kinda fallen to the side sadly.

I dont know what my schedule is gonna look like for the next couple months but I do want to get back to streaming and making videos. Im not sure how often that will be but be warned it wont be super often as i still have so much irl stuff to do lol.

also, i didn’t add this in the anon because i didn’t think there would be enough space, but another thing that was popular was creating “i survived” images in relation to events going on or around quotev

for example, people would do “take overs” by changing their profile themes to something specific and joking around with it it. people would frequently make “i survive blah blah takeover” images afterwards because they were fun and brought people together. i saved two from when dreams face reveal was streamed (as the dsmp fandom and haters were two commonly clashing communities on q)

both of these were made by a user called fiykiiier who was the closest anyone ever got to being actually famous on quotev, so minor tangent about that

fiykiiier was pretty popular and the blueprint for humor during 2022-2023. he frequently partook in take overs, interacted with everybody on feed regardless of carrot or westie status, and made MANY callouts on users. fiykiiier deactivated his account after having a falling out with a friend and came back for a temporary amount of time before being nerfed by the admins (for some mysterious reason). his rebrand wasn’t as big as it could have been, but it’s the most i’ve seen people acknowledge the existence of a user simultaneously whether it be talking about him in the past or when he came back.

other than fiykiiier, user antipositive is considered “famous” for the fact they have 36k followers, but besides that they’re a forgettable face and haven’t been very relevant besides people on twitter disliking the way they constantly joked about being q famous

i’ve been in the fandom since may 2023, although i’ve been casually watching the show since season 1 came out.

i’ve only watched the show like 3 times total except for, mainly, the aaravos scenes (look don’t @ me HFJSKJFDSK) or for screencap reasons aaand i haven’t read through much of the bonus content </3 [puzzle house, tox, etc…. though i believe i do know most of the important bits :) ]

i'm kinda lazy and am a slow reader buuut i do like making fic, meta, code, art, uhh probably whatever you can think of i'm down to make it. actually, i'm not super familiar with 3d art. so. not that. rip

my fav characters are aaravos, viren, terry, claudia, and callum, and crow master (tho every character has their merits) —tier list

i generally do not take interest in ships outside of viravos & kimditi, except in specific contexts: ie, the relationship dynamic affecting how characters will be manipulated

if you’re going to call proshippers groomers keep that shit to yourself. i’m friends with some and saying stuff like that is not ok i don’t like incest, underage, aged up, or noncon, so you won't see any of that on this page, but —everyone deserves a safe space to do what they want if it’s not harming anyone 👍 also depending on how u look at it like viravos is a weird ship for age differences, dubcon depending and all that too so yeahhh :) —>

i try to operate on a don’t like, keep scrolling, basis: outside of people with the same stance, the occasional salt and sometimes being a hater in a lighthearted way (or i hope that’s how it comes across), i kinda keep my opinions to myself. but if someone is bothering me for what i post, i'll hear you out but i'll defend myself. + if we’re mutuals / interact a lot and something i did made u uncomfortable or upset, please let me know! Feedback is important-it’s the only way people can grow and change. At least, if it’s considered.

i'm picky with blocking ppl. generally, it's fine to disagree with me about things. even if certain things bother me abt someone in fandom as long as we can still connect over something else it's usually not a deal breaker by any means. i favor blacklisting content and tags.
