Wait so do Arthur and Alice exist at the same time?

They can! I don't mind the idea of 1P, Nyotalia, and 2P coexisting because it's impossible for one individual to represent every aspect of a nation. I also don't mind when Nyotalia and 2P are relegated to AU status though. Ultimately I'm fine either way, it's not something I'm ride or die on, if you get what I mean.

In terms of Alice and Arthur, I think Arthur is "more important" to their government. He's the "default" choice for official business and work, which is a recipe for contention between the two and an unsure sense of belonging for Alice.

I've never really been fond of heta characters being a vessel for a collective conscious of citizens, so I guess that's how I can justify there being multiple personifications of a nation. Funnily enough, I was never really fond of Statetalia (which is ironic considering reading a fic series with a U.S. state OC protagonist is what led me to minoring in creative writing in college).

I like the idea of found family and people brought together by unfortunate circumstance (EX: being immortal with ties to the land and people of the place you were "born" in with no possible way of escape). Especially when it's the only thing bringing that said of group of people together.

I'll be transparent and admit that so far my ideas about Alice have been shaped by interacting with other people in a RP server, particularly the other England muns (Though I'm considering leaving just bc I prefer literate based roleplay and I'm having a hard time clicking with a chat based format).

Though maybe my stance on this comes from my inability to write nationverse right, lol. I can't handle the pressure of large quantities of responsibilities myself, so figuring out how to handle writing a character who is literally the embodiment of land, government, and citizens has been hard to connect with. I like reading nationverse and historical fics, but they're not something that's easy for me to understand from a writer's POV, if that makes sense?

Sorry if none of this makes sense kasdjlsdjlakj I have a tendency to contradict myself because I like to consider all of my options
