It's 12am time for another Arthur Suckening analysis but also not really ig
No spoilers (that I can think of) but I'm pulling from my knowledge of all 6 episodes that are currently out.
Anyways I don't think Arthur is or could be a father figure towards Shilo n Emizel. At best he's a big brother figure and even then that wouldn't be right now. He feels more like a mentor or when you have an older friend or coworker that you really get along with and you know they kind of take care of you in the way that they know you're younger so it's instinctual. Is this anything?
But it shows with how Arthur really is just trying to guide them. Responsibility is there but it's less, parental and more trying his best to guide them so they'll survive and not make the same mistakes he did or be caught in his own crossfire.
Shilo and Emizel don't really need that kind of figure in their life either I think. Like yeah the Everything with Shilo but I also think that it would be healthier if he didn't just gain a new parental figure since he seems to be heading more into an arc of independence and reflection. A guiding hand is needed but sometimes it's better if it's not a parental one. I think Emizel would throw up if someone thought Arthur was his dad. He wants to be king of all vampires and I believe in him but it's once again not needed for him to have a parental figure but more of a mentor or guide. You could argue that that's just what a parent does but I'd argue that the way Arthur does it has more of a disconnect. He's not helping them because he sees them as his own boys or his younger brothers but because he sees them as his younger self and is trying his damnedest so they don't end up like him.
The relationship the three have is more akin to the twins having picked up some guy to be their friend and now the guy won't shut up about morals and wisdom. They obviously care for each other but only with Shilo and Emizel is it familial. I'd also say that Arthur wouldn't even want them to see the boys as family due to what happened with his family anyway.
Is this anything?
