Wally: Overstimulated Drabble
CW: Vomit
Summary: Reader gets overwhelmed at their welcoming party.
---
Your past meal laid splattered across the bright patchwork grass. It left a burn in your throat, and you groaned.
To say you felt bad would be an understatement, there was a pounding behind your eyes. Sweat dripped off you. You groaned, shutting your eyes tight.
Today had started off good. You had finally finished moving into your new neighborhood, sure you were the only human but that wasn't so bad, right?
Wrong.
These puppet folk didn't understand the limits of the human body. That horned girl has nearly ripped your arm out of its socket in her excitement to show you around the neighborhood.
You were practically tossed around all day and at the end, you were invited to this living house called 'Home' where a welcome party was thrown for you.
You were grateful, of course. Everyone was so, so kind to you, showering you in gifts and praise. But it was all so... Overwhelming.
Thankfully, the party was nearing its end. The sun was going down and everyone was beginning to lose their energy. You took this moment to escape the thundering laughter and much too friendly touches and escaped into Home's Backyard. A forest.
As you stumbled deeper and deeper within the woods, the sounds grew more silent and you released a breath you hadn't known you were holding.
It came to you all at once.
Vomit spews past your dry lips, gasping for air.
Too much. It was all too much. The bright colors, the constant flow of voices. Guilt racked your mind. They were only being friendly. Yet you couldn't help but feel bad. Your head hurt. And you were tired. Your body shook and trembled beneath you.
"Neighbor..? Is that you? Why'd you leave..?"
A monotone voice approached you from behind. It was Wally's. The man who was somehow okay with living inside a sentient house.
"I'm fine, " you called out, your voice hoarse, "Go back inside."
"But I don't want to. It's a bit too loud in there. Julie and Sally have taken to karaoke."
Sounds horrible, you thought to yourself.
The grass crunched under Wally's shoes, "Did you come out to take a break? You were looking a bit pale in there."
You stood back up, turning to find his voice .
"... Yeah. Sorry. I'm just.. a bit overwhelmed at the moment."
"That's okay too... They're like this whenever someone new moves in."
Wally's figure revealed itself to you, lax as always.
"It's getting dark out. Let's go back inside. I'll tell them that it's time to go home for the day."
You perked up, "I-! That isn't necessary! They're having fun, I dun wanna ruin that just cause I'm a little overwhelmed."
Wally just shook his head.
"You're not the only one. Home is starting to get tired too.. It's not neighborly to overstay your welcome.. Come."
Wally's felt hand slipped into yours, "It's important to let the people around how you feel, Neighbor. Or else nothing will change."
Wally spoke barely above a whisper. You appreciated that. He led you back to Home.
"Let's not make your first memories here sour ones, hmm?"
---
A/N: Inspired from last night when I had too much sugar and felt like actual garbage. I feel like the world of welcome home would be a sensory nightmare. Anyways, Wally, Howdy, and Eddie are up for requests.

the thing that gets me about the, "oh it's quick bc it's war, it's more realistic," defence for soap's death is 09 ghost's and roach's deaths were abrupt as well but they were still treated with dignity
ghost screams for roach and tries to kill shepherd before he’s killed. we the player get to sit and watch with a dying roach
roach tries one last time to get the dsm even though it’s hopeless. we see the way they throw ghost's body, the rising dread as they spread the fuel. the hatred for shepherd drags out when he flicks the cigar and lights it and the screen slowly darkens, music swelling as he gets away with it and roach finally dies as well
we hear price scream through the comms and the devastating realisation hits that if he'd called just a little earlier, they might have lived
that is how you do an abrupt but dignified death that respects the audience
mw3 is how you throw together a rushed and disjointed climax and hope people swallow it
#soap dies from an out of character decision from price not letting him kill makarov in the helicopter#when price has had no qualms for the past two games to bend rules and make the choice he thinks is right not the one thats correct#and an out of character decision from soap to stab him in the shoulder instead of the head or just shooting him since he thought he was dow#theres no reaction from anyone apart from ghost and price saying his name#gaz just calls price to disarm the bomb#then they stand there looking at soap as price calls in a debrief#theres no anger no devastation no lighting the fire of revenge#theres no music nothing to symbolise this loss not only of a main character that we love but a character we /play as/#theres nothing in the writing the characters the music the atmosphere to push this as an emotional scene#hes just there#makarov doesnt come across as a true villain to be afraid of and angry at#hes just a guy that shot someone bc he brought a knife to a gun fight#all of this after stripping soap of his main kill and personal enemy with a pathetic excuse#which was already insulting#but to bring graves back from the dead then hammer home four seperate times that soap is 100% dead? that felt targeted and deliberate#it wasnt a meta choice to prsent his death as realistic#stories arent meant to just be realistic theyre supposed to evoke emotion#this was a poorly written death in a poorly written story for a rushed campaign and theres nothing else to it#coming out of my cage and ive been doing just fine.txt#cod mw3#mw3 spoilers#john soap mactavish#soapghost#soap cod#simon ghost riley#ghost cod#captain price#kyle gaz garrick#call of duty#we’re a team. ghost team

2 in one day lets gooooo
[stuffing, tummy rubs]
"You gonna be ready?"
"Hm?" Val looked up from his book.
"We're meeting Mary and Tito at five," said Connie. "I'm thinking maybe ten minutes."
"Oh! Yeah, I'll be ready," said Val, sticking a bookmark between the pages.
Val was, in fact, not ready. He'd forgotten entirely about their dinner plans with Connie's friends. Ordinarily, this wouldn't present much of an issue; Val was flexible. Ordinarily, in fact, he wouldn't have even forgotten in the first place. Today, however, it had simply slipped his mind, and not even half an hour ago he'd eaten a very late lunch which had left him feeling pleasantly stuffed. He set his book down and went to change. Giuliana's wasn't a particularly fancy restaurant, so he wasn't worried about dressing up. What he was worried about was the conspicuously bloated tummy he was sure he'd inevitably wind up with. Even if he only ordered something small, he had a big lunch sitting in his stomach. A salad alone might be enough to push him over the edge. He put on a comfortable pair of pants, making sure not to fasten his belt too tightly, and a dark sweater which was a couple sizes too big. Looking in the mirror, he quickly neatened up his graying hair, then returned to the living room.
They met Mary and Tito outside the restaurant, and the couples greeted each other warmly before going inside. Connie had been good friends with them since high school, and though they kept in touch, they rarely had the opportunity to meet up. Val, as a result, didn't know them well, but he always enjoyed spending time with them when the occasion arose, and he especially enjoyed seeing Connie so happy. The conversation was in full swing before the four of them even made it to the table. Their waiter, a small, friendly man who introduced himself as Sunny, led them to a booth, distributed menus, and left them to think.
When Sunny returned, Connie was surprised to hear Val order only a salad. While Mary and Tito placed their orders, she turned to him, concerned.
"Are you sure that's all you want?" she asked quietly.
"Yeah, I'm not starving tonight," he said.
"Oh, come on, Val, live a little! I think you're watching your figure too much," Mary teased playfully. Val smiled at her, rolling his eyes.
"Oh, alright," he sighed, taking a quick glance at the menu. "Can I add a cup of New England?"
"You got it," said Sunny, scribbling down the addition. "Be right out!"
Connie, Mary, and Tito returned to their conversation, and Val listened happily as the friends caught up with each other. Although he wasn't hungry, the thought of the clam chowder was becoming more appealing, and when Sunny returned with their food, he was happy to see it. In fact, he was a little sorry he hadn't ordered pasta like everybody else. Still, he knew it was for the better.
The salad was bigger than Val had anticipated. Along with the chowder, and several bites of pasta which Connie insisted on sharing with him, it was more than he'd bargained for, and by the time their plates were cleared, he was absolutely stuffed. Fortunately, his oversized sweater concealed his bloated stomach, but his pants were growing snug. When Tito asked for a dessert menu, he began to worry.
Connie slipped an arm casually around his waist, letting her hand rest on his belly. She was surprised to feel how round it was. She glanced up from the menu.
"Do you want to share something?" she asked him. He looked at her, and she subtly gave his stomach a knowing pat. She knew how persuasive his sweet tooth was, and it wouldn't have been the first time he gave himself a tummyache eating an entire dessert on top of an overstuffed stomach.
"Only if you want to," he said.
"Yeah, I'm a little full. How about lava cake?"
"Sounds good," said Val, smiling softly at her. She gave him a gentle squeeze and passed the menu back to Mary.
The lava cake was perfect for both of them; Connie loved chocolate, and Val enjoyed the warmth. It was much bigger than the average lava cake, which meant Connie didn't have to sacrifice too much of her dessert. It also meant Val ate a little more than he wanted to. It took only a small chunk of the cake to push him into tummyache territory. With a quiet sigh, he set his spoon down and let Connie finish the rest.
As the group stood to leave, the feeling of fullness in Val's stomach became even more apparent, and he rested a hand on his belly as they left. He held Connie's hand with the other. Smiling, she kissed him on the cheek.
"Hey, Val, looks like dessert really did you in," Tito chuckled, giving his tummy a playful pat. Val smiled sheepishly and shrugged.
"Oh, Tito, leave that poor man alone," scolded Mary. She turned back to Connie and hugged her tightly. "It was so great seeing you two again!"
The two couples said their goodbyes and went their separate ways. Connie took the keys, and spent the ride home periodically reaching out to rub Val's sore tummy.
"So, what's the story?"
"What story?"
"I mean where was your appetite? I know I always say you eat like a bird, but no way were you that full just from soup and salad."
"It was a big salad," he said, looking sheepishly up at her. She gave him a skeptical look. "Oh, alright. I forgot we were going out. I ate right before we left."
"Oh, Val!"
"I'm sorry!"
"Oh, honey, you should've said something! No wonder your tummy's so bloated," she said, rubbing his belly.
"I'll be alright," he said. "I just can't wait to get changed and lay down."
"I'll bet. Maybe I can kiss it better." She slipped a teasing finger under his sweater, and he shivered at the cold touch.
"You've got a cure for everything, don't you?"
"Sure do."
