This is my opinion on why I believe the GA doesn’t see Byler.

Before I begin, I just want to say I’ve been a Byler fan since Season 1. Season 2 cemented my feelings about them. Season 3 crushed my soul. And season 4 at first watch made me feel pessimistic but eventually optimistic. As a gay boy myself I can’t help but see the whole show through Will eyes (he is me) and can’t help but fall in love with Mike. I mean he did so much for Will in the beginning, how could you not love Mike for that.

The relationship between the boys really does take a turn for the worse coming off S2 into S3 because Mikes character kind of does a 180 in terms of Bylers relationship.

Anyway. Talking about S4, we see A LOT of the CA plot line from Wills perspective. And I think this is key to people not seeing Byler. Wills feelings are made very clear. He’s depressed, traumatized, he doesn’t fit in, he is well aware of his homosexuality which brings stress and suffering and the tremendous disappointment that he has in Mikes character, yet he can’t help but love regardless. With that said, Wills POV is bleak, and coming off the back of S3 it’s easier and, I would say necessary, for his character to believe that Mike doesn’t love him. The pain of letting yourself believe they do love you only to be rejected, is very hurtful. And I don’t think that boy can handle more pain so it’s safer for him to deny the hope. Will even says “I’m not going to fall in love.”

Mikes actions also play into this. Will does not see Mikes love for him. He can’t hug him, is dismissive, he argues and blames Will at Rink O Mania, he wrote to El but didn’t seam to call Will, makes the whole trip about El, isn’t attentive to Will at all, and even when Mike apologizes for obsessing over El- every one of their conversations is still about her. Again this is Wills POV. I will say Mike does give him hints and mix messages for romantics feelings but like I said, how is Will suppose to trust? Is Will just reading into the flirting because he wants it so badly? It needs to be direct otherwise Will and the GA won’t see it or believe it.

Obviously there are a lot of hints for Byler, and I believe 100% it will happen. I’m choosing to trust the hope even though Will isn’t able to.

My point is I think Wills painful POV cannot be underestimated even if straight viewers dont like Will you can’t deny how powerful it is. Will literally helped Mike say I love you to El because he doesn’t have hope for himself. I think straight viewers use his hopeless as evidence for why Mike and El will end up together. It’s interesting that you hate Will but Will plays a role in convincing you of Milevens endgame. What they don’t understand, other than all the Byler evidence, is that Will is wrong! Mike does have romantic feelings for him and Mike will get there! Because Mike doesn’t need to find himself he needs to return to the person he’s always been. He showed us who he is and it’s the person he was in S1 & S2 and we see it when he’s with Will!

Fun Activity You’d Really Like to Get Into: Book binding!! I think it’d be so neat. I’ve got this hand bound journal that I sketch in and it’s one of my favorite things. I’d love to learn leather work and how to make your own paper! This just combines those two in a perfect way.

Last Video Game: Played? Stardew Valley! I will marry Harvey or Sam come hell or high water. Now, watched about eight hours of lore videos over? Faith: The Unholy Trinity. Horrifying game. Delicious lore. SO good. Father Garcia, my beloved <3.

Last Comic/Graphic Novel: Truthfully, it was the garbage, totally inaccurate comic called “Samson: Judge of Israel” for my Old Testament class but I don’t wanna talk about that unless you want me to rant about modern Christians reading Jesus into the Old Testament where He shouldn’t be read into (*rasa frasas in Catholic Religion Major*). I will say that the art was stunning in it though. The last one I read out of choice was Blue Exorcist! I don’t think I’m caught up with it anymore but that is my favorite manga of all time! I'm just going to randomly throw out things that I thought about while gathering screen caps. Some of them are things you guys have probably noticed, but I pay so much attention to the forefront of what's happening that sometimes little things get lost in the background (or they also go too quickly). I'll do it play by play, starting with Addict.

Like, okay, I know this scene happens. But I love this screenshot. I really hope we see more of Travis in future seasons, since he was big in the pilot and Addict. He obviously works at the studio, he's obviously obsessed with Angie, I need more.

T(h)rusting 101. Huehuehue. I knew that they all scribbled things on the other banners but I never noticed this until later.

Getting into Masquerade, which I could obviously deep dive a thousand times. I know I'm always on my ValAngel bullshit, but you can't tell me that this is the face of a man who hates his abuser. This is the face of a man who is heartbroken. Those first two photos? Him being shown his contract? He hates himself for signing it out of love. The one where he has the black eye, he doesn't look appalled or disgusted or angry that Val hit him, but genuinely looks crushed. And then every other face in this frame like...Angel is absolutely terrified. I know he puts on a bravado and all this stuff but I think sometimes people lean into the persona so much that they forget that underneath it all is a scared man who hates himself for daring to think anyone could love him. And every expression in this scene is just....so beautiful.

Look at this happy family portrait. I keep seeing that Huskerdust isn't end game and they're supposed to just be close friends but there's too many little hints for me to buy that (and it isn't even my main ship.)

This reminds me of the scene in 2 Minutes Notice (I wish I could find the exact frame) but right before Fizz decides to use Mammon's name and make it known it's about him, he looks down. Like he's considering it. Doubting it. I love that we see this little flicker in Angel and it isn't just pure rage. It's him deciding if it's worth it to stand up against his abuser, which obviously in the end he literally states that it was. But this flash of a second gives so much to his inner thoughts without them being said out loud and dfjsfldsjldsf. These little things get missed if you're watching because they're so fast.

Everyone always focuses on Husk in this scene but CAN WE TALK ABOUT CHERRI IN THE BACK? I read someone somewhere write that she wasn't there to watch her friend get abused because she was too busy with the random guy in the sex room but she is RIGHT THERE and she is PISSED. As the one person who has watched Angel have so many break downs because of Valentino, I imagine her rage against this man is huge and I really want to see them interact to some degree.

Another one of those that we always talk about Husk's face here but Angel....omfg. These two men want to bone each other but are taking it slow, you cannot convince me otherwise.

I have been having a lot of doubts about how I play Angel lately. If I play him too soft or too emotional. Then I remember, I'm playing him post S1 most of the time. He's grown up so much. He's so much more emotionally vulnerable. And I get adorable screenshots like this that help me to realize that yeah he's just a big fucking softie trying to keep himself from being hurt, and I adore him for that. Anyone who says they hate Angel probably based him off the first few episodes, and that just...that isn't who he is. It never was.

Ok, I know I'm a little late but ever since I got my furry Boi I've been OBSESSED with him!! Anyways, let's hop to it.

He has an undercut. (YOU CANNOT CONVINCE ME OTHERWISE!!)(Just look at his design and look at the back of his head under his hair) (it's there.)

Also ever notice how his hair just curtains around his head?

His reason for this is because of how thick his hair was (due to his furry animal lineage). And seeing that it was a big pain in the neck (literally) he just sheared off the back side of his head.

He let's Collei groom his tail on occasion (only if she notices he looks tired and offers to do it for him) but he never let's her touch his ears. (Then again Collei's never asked for it)

Surprisingly the diamond and green pattern stuff on his tail is natural fur growth.

He sheds. And there's a "shedding season". Usually it's during the hot summer days in the rain forest. He's usually able to keep it under control. But of course that doesn't mean that a good puff of furs or two make it out of his hut.

He hates thunder storms. Probably because they're just bad for his ears. But as a child he was deathly afraid of them.

He was a botanic prodigy. Everyone in his family was a scholar and lo and behold, he mastered at alphabet being only a year old.

It's a super rare sight if you've ever seen him flatten his ears. And when they're flat, he's so short! Also he kinda looks like a girl.

He's never been outside of Sumeru.

His favourite color is yellow

He's owned a pet bird once

Tighnari is able to go "into heat" but avoids this by taking some old remedic medicine his family has made for this. And no one knows about this about him.

He can communicate and understand other foxes. (Just Like Gorou)

He can purr. (Yes Fennec foxes purr go look it up.)

He's hug his tail or use it as a blanket if it ever gets too cold.

He is an absolute master at table top games. Play him anything. Chess, checkers, cards, monopoly, you'll lose. The only way to win is if he let's you win. (A privilege which was given to Collei)

He likes sipping on the nectar of flowers.

When under the sun for too long his skin gets dark pretty quickly. But it also reverts back to it's original tone at the same pace.
