Jobs are hard…humans are harder
Part 1, Part 2, Part 4, Part 5
Danny was bored, there was no other way to describe it. School wouldn’t be starting for another month and he barely knew anything about this world, which unfortunately meant he didn’t know anyone in this world. No one but Diana that is, and the nice old lady next door who sneaks him candy. Unfortunately Diana spends half the day at work and as such Danny was bored. You can only watch the news concerning meta human rights before you go mad. True she would be home soon, they would have dinner and talk about her day, hopefully with no calls for Wonder Woman.
Danny groaned as he flopped over the side of the couch, trying to come up with something to do. Diana found him like that, half hanging off the couch, asleep, with the news playing in the background. With a chuckle she silently creeped over to the side of the couch. With groceries in one hand, she grabbed Danny by the back of his shirt and lifted. He startled awake as she lifted him to eye level.
“You do know I’m not a cat, right?” She smiled
“Really? I couldn’t tell, you play the part so well.” She snarked back setting him back down on the couch. “I’ve got the ingredients for dinner, wanna help?” She asked.
Danny nodded, slowly rising from his place on the couch. “Sure, what’s for dinner?”
“Spaghetti, grab the cutting board and start cutting the onions for the sauce.” Danny grinned
“Aye, aye Captain!” He said with a laugh. He grabbed his tools and got to work. “So how were things at the museum?”
“Things are going steady, with the new exhibit up and running we are getting an influx of visitors. It’s nice seeing the younger generation taking an interest in history.” Danny paused
“By younger generation, do you mean my age or Mrs. Gertrude’s age?” He asked with a raised brow.
“Very funny, back to chopping you. Garlic is next.” Danny laughed but did as he was told. “Speaking of your age, you turned 16 recently right?” Danny nodded. “There’s a position open at the museum, it’s nothing to hard, just leading a few tours. It may not be your ideal way to spend your time, however it would give you a way to get out and make some friends before school starts. As a bonus, you’d be getting paid.” Danny slowed his dicing.
“It’s better than anything I’ve come up with. But… I don’t know, maybe?” Danny shrugged. “I’ll have to think it over. I’ve never had a real job before, mostly just helping out around the lab. What’s the job? ” Diana gave him a sly grin.
“No pressure, they’re looking for someone to help run the space show. Of course, if you aren’t interested…”
“I’d get to run the space show?!?!?” Danny interrupted “Scratch that, I’d be getting PAID to run the space show?!?!” His face was split in a giant grin. Diana laughed.
“You would be getting paid to HELP run the space show. That means assisting guests, answering questions, doing a bit of clean up and anything else Dr.Scott needs help with.” Danny was nearly vibrating with excitement. “The application is in my purse, which you can fill out After we finish making the sauce.” Danny grinned and got back to work. Between the two of them they managed to get the sauce on the stove in record time.
While the sauce cooked, Diana gave him the application and she walked him through his new information. As they were talking they were interrupted by the news announcing a break-in at a bank nearby. Nothing to draw Diana from helping Danny… until they announced that the perpetrator was Cheetah.
“Danny, I’m so sorry. I promise I won’t be gone long.” She apologized. Danny shrugged giving her an understanding look.
“It’s all good, I can’t t lol you how many times I had to tell run out on my friends because a ghost attacked. I’ll be here when you get back and dinner will be ready. Stay safe, okay?” And off she went. Danny finished up the application, excited at the prospect of getting to tell people about SPACE. Once he was done he turned up the news to see how Diana was doing.
He watched as she fought like a true warrior, no hesitation, not a single motion wasted. The way she interacted with Cheetah though…seemed oddly familiar. The back and forth… there was no way.
He pondered on the thought as he got up to start the pasta. There was no way, right? That seems like the kinda thing you tell someone. It was possible of course, but well... only thing to do is ask.
About a half hour after Danny's "epiphany" the spaghetti was done and Diana was walking through the door. Once the food was served, Diana poured herself a lovely cup of wine. Of course she did this not realizing how much of an utter gremlin her newly acquired cousin was. She had fully settled into her seat, taking her first sip of wine when Danny decided to confront her.
"Are you dating Cheetah?" Diana spit out her wine, coughing as she tried to clear her throat.
"I'm sorry, care to repeat that?" she asked
"I asked, are you dating Cheetah? It's fine if you are, no judgement here. I mean, Ancients know I have some crazy exs, and gender has never been an issue..." He stops as he takes in the look of confusion. "What?"
"How... exactly did you come to that... interesting conclusion?" She asked. Danny shrugged.
"Honestly just the way you guys were bantering. Reminded me a lot about how me and my ex fought, sure she didn't know we were fighting, but I did." He said with a straight face. Diana couldn't help it, she burst out laughing.
"No, cousin, I am not dating Cheetah. Though we were once close friends." she said with a smile.
"Oh, okay then." Danny blushed. "Sorry for assuming."
"All is well, I will admit that among the women of Themascyra such things are commonplace. I too am not bothered by gender." she smiled "Now come, eat your food. I will be bringing you to the museum tomorrow so you can turn in your application. I’ll even show you around where I work.”
“Sounds great! Can we stop by the space exhibit? I wanted to check it out even if I don’t get the job.”
Diana smiled “That should be fine, I don’t actually have work tomorrow so barring another alien invasion we should have the day to ourselves.” Danny nodded and started to take a bite of his spaghetti.
The fork was halfway to his mouth when he froze “What do you mean ANOTHER alien invasion?!”
———————
Danny was practically vibrating with excitement, the meeting with Dr. Scott had gone well, and Danny had to be physically dragged out of the space exhibit by Diana once he realized they had a full section with an interview from a real live Martian! Next on the list to do was checking out Diana's section of the museum, then they would get ice cream like civilized human beings.
As they approached her section the woman at the desk looked up with wide eyes.
"Why Diana what a handsome YOUNG man you've got here, what's your name sugar?" she proclaimed with an obvious wink. Danny blushed, while Diana laughed.
"This is my cousin Danny, I told you about him. Danny, this is Doris, the world's best receptionist, I don't know how I'd survive without her." She said with a smile.
"Oh I'm sure you'd soldier on somehow. How're you like'n the museum Danny? I hear your lookin to work with Dr. Scott." Danny grinned.
"It's great! I turned in my application today and we did an impromptu interview, which I think went pretty well. We were just headed over to check out Diana's new exhibit."
"Oh well don't let me hold you up. You enjoy yourself hun." she said with a smile. The two headed further into the exhibit as Diana explained what it was she did at the museum. The more they explored however the more Danny was quite clearly trying to keep the grin off his face. It wasn't until they were walking to the ice cream parlor that he explained the cause of his glee.
"I just can't get over the fact that you are an ancient greek demi-god, telling people about ancient greek mythos as though it was nothing more than a religion, y'know like a liar. You are being paid to lie." Diana raised an eyebrow.
"It's not technically a lie. Many people worshiped the gods and so it was in fact a religion, I simple choose to leave out the fact that they were real." Danny grinned.
"Agree to disagree, now let's get some ice cream." the two walked through the doors of the unsuspecting ice cream parlor and, after much debate, each ordered a whopping ten scoops of ice cream. Which they then proceeded to eat at one of the tables, in less than 15 minutes, with no visible signs of brain freeze.
(The girl behind the counter might having an existential crisis as this was after the teenage boy talked the fully grown woman out of fifteen scoops. They don't even have fifteen flavors!)
All in all it was a good day.
------------
Danny was not having a good day. He was slumped over the table in the break room as Diana patted him on the shoulder.
"Three tours in one morning, with two more after lunch! And every single one had a Jeremy!” Diana quirked an eyebrow.
“A Jeremy?” Danny nodded.
“That one kid who tries to climb on all the exhibits and refuses to stay with the group no matter how many times his chaperone scolds him.” Diana gave him a solemn pat on the back.
“I know of them well, though for me, they will always be Misty. Don’t worry though school will be starting soon and the tours will slow down a bit.”
The timer on Danny’s phone went off and he groaned, taking one last swig of his toxic sludge from his thermos he dragged himself out of his seat. "Yeah, yeah, but then I'll be going to work AND school. I'm so happy I dropped heroing in this world, I don't know how you find the time!" Diana shrugged "I'm gonna swing by the coffee shop in the geology section after work with Travis, you want anything." Diana thought for a minute.
"Call me when you get there, depending on the rest of the day I might get a Frappuccino or solid black coffee with three shots of espresso." Danny nodded.
"Ah yes, the nectar of the gods, you got it!" He said with a grin as he took off. Diana smiled, happy that Danny was finally making friends, before she threw away her trash and headed back to work.
-------------
By the time the end of their shift ended Danny had found a second wind. The last group of the day had been very well behaved with not a single Jeremy in sight, and all enthusiastic about SPACE! Travis was trudging along behind him in shock as he watched the teen who looked like he was going keel over not even an hour ago, seemed like he was about to start floating. He shook his head in disbeief.
"Danny, my man you are not human." He said not noticing Danny stiffen. "I wish I had your energy." Danny gave him a stiff laugh.
"What can I say? I just really love taking about space. I mean, considering the amount of known extraterrestrials currently active on earth! I can't understand how anyone could not be into space." Travis shrugged.
"Eh, it pays the bills at least." The two walked into the coffee shop, looking at the specials.
"Dude, you're 17, what bills do you have." Travis shrugged.
"I pay my phone bill, plus I'm saving up for my car." Danny nodded accepting the answer.
"Fair enough, hey you go ahead and order. I'm gonna call my cousin and see what she wants." Travis smirked.
"The hot cousin who runs the Greek exhibit? For her I will get all the coffee." Danny rolls his eyes as his phone began ringing.
"Calm down lover boy, she's way out of your league." a laugh sounded from the other end of the phone as Diana picked up. There was a slight commotion outside the café.
"And who is out of his league, exactly?" Diana asks, Danny smirks as Travis frantically shakes his head. Things started to get louder.
"Oh just this girl he's got a crush on, we're at the café. Did you decide what kind of day it is." Diana hummed on the other end, but before she could answer a security guard went flying down the hall. "What the hell!" he shouted. Danny ran over to the guard ready to help him up as Diana frantically tries to find out what happened. Before he can say anything though he feels a pressure against the back of his head.
"Look who's tryin to be a hero boys!" comes the shout from behind, Danny is roughly grabbed by his arm with a gun to his head. He started to shake as the attacker laughed. "Now we don't want any trouble y'hear? We're just gonna grab that pretty rock over there and be on our way."
Danny watches as the security guards point their guns at the thieves as the start to break down, a display on Dunite? Danny looks at the thieves confused. What could they possibly want with a fertilizer? Heck the only reason he even knew what is was is because he got bored waiting for his coffee! Danny flinches as the gunman pushes into his head harder.
"Not so brave now, huh kid?" he says with a smug tone. "This is what happens to heroes." he is practically shivering at this point as the gunman laughs. "Look at this! He's shaking in his shoes." Danny on the other hand has begun repeating a mantra in his head, practicing an inordinate amount of restraint.
'Don't break the human, don't break the human, Don't BREAk the HuMan!'
Danny clenches his fist in annoyance as the gunman continues to blather on about something called Kryptonite? and making his boss happy. He wasn't really paying that much attention, repeating his mantra over and over again. His concentration only broken by the gunman suddenly being jerked away. He turns around to find none other than his cousin standing behind him, sans glasses, in her full Wonder Woman armor with a rather angry look on her face.
It didn't take long for her to disarm and capture the criminals, with a quiet remark about a Frappuccino as she passed by Danny. She turned them over to the police before flying off, only to rush over to him minutes later frantic talking loudly about how worried she was. Travis ran to his side, shaking with fear.
"Are you okay man? What were you thinking! You could have been killed!" Danny gave him a sheepish grin.
"Honestly? I wasn't, sorry for scarring you dude." Diana put a hand on his shoulder.
"Danny? They need you to make a statement, you'll have to speak with security as well before we head home okay?" she asked in a soft tone as if he might break at any moment. And Danny might have believed the concern as well, if it weren't for the hidden mirth in her eyes. Danny nodded along saying bye to Travis before heading over to the police.
It was a full hour of telling the same story over and over again, to different groups before they finally let him go. As they walked out of the museum Danny drooped his shoulders. Diana wrapped an arm around him.
"I know you can handle yourself, grandfather told me that much, but are you okay? That was probably a bit upsetting." Danny groaned.
"That was embarrassing! I could take them all down in seconds, without even breaking a sweat if it weren't for one thing." Diana cocked her head to the side as Danny visibly deflated.
"Perhaps the fact that you don't want to be a hero?" Danny huffed,
"Well that and... you have to promise not to laugh." Danny said with pleading eyes, Diana used a finger to cross her heart in agreement. "I've... never actually fought a human before." Diana snorted "Hey! It's not funny! All my enemies were ghosts, none of which held back by the way. The ghost hunters always used ranged weapons or traps, no real need for confrontation!" he whispered harshly as they made their was down the sidewalk. Diana burst out laughing at Danny's expense.
"It's a little funny, you've got to admit it." Diana fought to calm herself. "If you'd like, I have plenty of experience fighting humans, I could give you some tips on not killing them on the first hit." Danny's eyes widened.
"Seriously?!?!?! That would be awesome! When can we start?!” Diana laughed as they approached their apartment.
"While I love your enthusiasm, I have a meeting with the team tonight, and I am responsible for monitor duty tomorrow morning." Danny frowned as they made their way through the lobby to the elevator. Once inside he spoke up.
"Aren't we supposed to be having dinner with gramps tonight? How's that gonna work out." Diana shrugged.
"I'm sure we'll find a way. I don't think he will accept an excuse of 'not enough time.' Speaking of which, you wouldn't happen to know what's on the menu, I may have a strong stomach but I think ectoplasm is a bit much."
Danny shrugged, "No idea, but it's not like he's gonna serve blob ghost stew or something. I'm sure he'll make something you can eat.
--------------
Clockwork looked away from the screen showing his grandchildren with a sigh. Slowly he took the pot filled with stew and set it aside...
Perhaps he should defer to the Lunch Lady's superior knowledge on this particular challenge.

Uncle Vlad AU
AU where Vlad actually gets along with the adults in the Fenton household pretty well. The Problem is the Teachers. (And ghosts. But mostly the teachers).
Maddie:
He and Maddie have been flirting awkwardly since they were 10 years old because it was funny when adults did it, and never stopped. Neither means anything by it.
Yes, Mr. Lancer, Jack does know that.
No, we do not need you to send Danny home with the Scarlet Letter. There is no affair. You know what, if you spent this much time protecting my kids from bullies, we-
Good mom, ok? She is! Sure, she gets distracted by work a lot, but she's not intentionally negligent, and she does her best. She just isn't able to connect with Danny the way she can with Jazz.
Jack:
Thinks the awkward flirting is hilarious. Regularly eggs on both his wife and BFF. Hides out at Vlad's to watch football games.
ADHD solidarity with Vlad. Two bros chillin' on a Packers couch, oi, asshole, did you just fumble in the first kickoff! Yeah, he did, which reminds me,did you want to come by for-
Jack was supposed to be there to ask Vlad for help on the portal. They have watched the Bears beat the Vikings, made plans for the weekend, managed to cook an entire meal, and it's not until 2 days later that Jack remembers. (Am I projecting my ADHD? You better bet )
Like Maddie, he isn't intentionally negligent, he just gets distracted super easily. He does his best, but often fails. A true himbo: strong of body, giant of heart, dumb of ass.
Vlad:
Died 20 years ago, but also recognizes that putting his face into a portal to another dimension wasn't a great idea.
Reiterates lab safety constantly despite consistently breaking the rules.
"Remember, children, do not eat or drink in the lab."
"Um. You're drinking ectoplasm right now, though."
"And I'm dead! I can get away with it!"
Despite this, neither Jack or Maddie know he's dead. Plasmius? "Cool costume!" Loses a hand that grows back in a day? "How'd you get that illusion to work?" Jokes about being dead? "Ha ha, yes, we get it. You're dead inside and like grim humor."
Neither Danny or Jazz- who do know- are allowed to tell their parents, because, "come on, guys, don't ruin a 20 year experiment for me! I wanna know how long it takes!"
Vlad is "independently wealthy". As in, he robbed a bunch of billionaires, and has blackmail on twice as many.
So as not to draw too much suspicion, he's a writer. Mostly trashy romance novels or technical manuals. There is no in-between.
Danny:
Dies. Immediately joins Vlad in death jokes. Jazz: You NEED TO talk about it! Danny: IDK, Jazz, I'm still pretty shocked. Get it?
Vlad: Hey, I gotta go visit dead family for the holidays, wanna come with?
Danny: Is that where you go every year? What do you do?
Jazz: Please don't make a ghost joke, please don't make a-
Vlad: Yeah, well, we go haunting, play games, decorate the cemetery, you know. Just get into the holiday spirit, and have a damned good time.
Jazz: I'm calling the Ghostbusters.
Starts learning how to fight ghosts- Uncle Vlad helps, of course, and- DANIEL PHANTOM, WHY are you HERE, and not in math class?! GO.
Nobody knows why Vlad's so chill about the death thing until his family comes to visit- turns out, his mother's maiden name was Addams. Yes, those Addams'.

Mario Kart - Katsuki Bakugo X Female Reader
Title: Mario Kart
Katsuki Bakugo X Female Reader
Additional Characters: Mina (Mentioned), Sato (Mentioned), Izuku (Mentioned), and Momo (Mentioned)
WC: 1,400
Warnings: Slight suggestiveness and Katsuki got dem feelings and hates it.
It was stupid. Bakugou knew that for sure. He couldn't be in love with you. That was not the feeling that he felt. Nope. Not admitting it. But, oh god. He's never felt this way for anyone before. Bakugou wasn't even sure when it started. Maybe during the tournament? Or maybe before? You were just so amazing and strong. And then you helped with saving him from the League of Villains.
Bakugou had been running from his feelings since you both first met. That's for sure. When you offered to train with him, he thought it would be best if you both worked together. You could both improve a lot more easily if you did. Of course, he wanted to get closer to you, but he didn't want to ruin things between the two of you.
Even his "friends" had realized that something wasn't right. They, mostly Mina, had noticed how different Bakugou acted around and towards you, especially how he'd talked about you.
Mina still didn't know everything, but she knew enough. The fact that he didn't lose control in front of you meant that he probably liked you, at least a little bit. She hoped it wouldn't take long for him to realize how much he really cared for you. Then, hopefully, he'll end up confessing to you.
She couldn't have done anything without her friends though. So, it was their job to try and get Bakugou to confess.
~~~
He loved you. He absolutely loved you. That's what he told himself as he walked down the streets of U.A. High. At least, that's what he tried telling himself. It wasn't working. Half his mind was saying it was just a dumb crush, while the other half was saying it was love. Love. What he felt for you. How you made him feel. Everything. All of it.
He was going to tell you too. He decided that after everything he had seen and heard, he owed you the truth. It wasn't fair for him to keep all these thoughts bottled up inside. Now that he knew everything, there was no point keeping them a secret anymore.
As he walked back into the dorms, he froze when he say you. You were talking to Mina and Momo, smiling and laughing. You were so pretty. Nope. Nope. Nope. He couldn't do it. Glaring, he scoffed, scolding himself. He felt weak. You made him feel weak. He hated feeling weak.
He turned around, walking away. He needed some time alone, to think. His heart was pounding.
~~~
A few days later, you sat in the main room, on a beanbag, reading. Your friend, Izuku, was in the corner, playing on his phone. Sato was in the kitchen, cooking something. You weren't really paying attention to either of them. You were thinking about something else. Or... Someone.
You were in love with Bakugou. It was true. You knew it. No matter how hard you tried to deny your feelings, they still remained. You loved Bakugou so much. You wanted to snuggle up next to him, cook next to him, go out together, spend every single day by his side. You'd do anything for him.
And you were scared. Scared that you'll lose him if you told him. He was your friend. As good as a boyfriend could be, you couldn't risk losing him. You'd rather stay friends than risk losing him by confessing your feelings. You can't possibly imagine life without Bakugou around.
As you read the final page of your book, you sighed happily. It was a good ending.
~~~
Bakugou was sitting at his desk, resting his hand on his cheek as he stared at you, sitting diagonally from him. You were looking up at the board, occasionally looking down and writing in your notebook. Bakugou sighed, rolling his eyes.
You looked up, looking behind you, smiling shyly. "Hey."
He smiled back, waving his hand lightly. "Hi."
"How are you?"
"Fine," he said, shrugging.
"Miss L/N, what's the answer to question three?" Ectoplasm, asked and you blushed, embarrassed.
"Sixty-four."
He nodded. "Good."
You turned back around to Bakugou, "What're you doing today?" You asked, whispering.
"Nothing," he said, shaking his head. "I don't have any homework or anything like that."
Smiling, causing Bakugou's heart to skip a beat, you nodded. "Same, wanna hang out after?"
He smiled shyly, nodding. "Sure. I'll text you later then."
"Okay," you replied, returning to your work.
~~~
"Awe! Come on, I was so close!" You whined as Bakugou's car passed yours; straight through the finishing line.
He rolled his eyes, smirking, "You suck at this."
You huffed, pouting, "Don't say stuff like that."
"Well, you suck at this," He retorted, pressing 'next round' on the screen.
"Again? Just so you can beat me again? Why can't we just play something else?" You asked as you looked back to the screen.
"Because you're too damn competitive," He said, smirking. "Besides, you need practice."
You smirked, pushing his shoulder, "I'm the competitive one?"
"Yup," he chuckled, clicking the button.
"All right, I'm sorry. It's just..." You trailed off, sighing. "I hate losing."
He smirked, "No surprise there." He spoke as he slid into first place.
"Argh!" You stomped on your foot on the floor. "Why do you always have to win?"
"Seems like your more hotheaded than I am..." Bakugou teased.
You frowned, "Yeah well, I'm not an idiot. I know you're better at this game."
"Of course I'm better than you," he said smugly.
You laughed, "Of course you are." You shook your head, "I still can beat you when we spar though."
Bakugou shrugged, "Yeah, but only like thirty percent of the time."
"Well, I can't let you have all the fun," you said sarcastically.
"Oh please," he scoffed.
"If you always lose at this game, why did you suggest it?" He asked and you shrugged, feeling bashful.
"I dunno," you said, looking away. "Maybe because I got bored?"
Bakugou lowered his eyebrows, admiring your side-profile as he observed you. "No, you would've made me play Minecraft or some crap."
"I would have but then you would whine the entire time cause I beat you at PvP." You said, grinning.
"So, why did you choose Mario Kart?" He asked, and you sighed.
"I dunno... I knew it's your favorite." You shrugged.
"Hm, you make note of my favorite games?" He smirked. "Is that a sign of how much you like me?"
You giggled, "Please, how could I not like you?"
Your eyes widened, and Bakugou's did too.
You were not supposed to say that.
"Umm... I mean..." You laughed nervously, "I've liked you for a really long time."
You took the words right out of his mouth.
He was glad you confessed.
You really took one for the team.
"Really?" He questioned, raising his eyebrow.
You nodded, "Yes, really." You said, still smiling.
"That's... Good," he said, smiling shyly. "I... I like you a lot too."
"Really?" You questioned, your eyes widening.
"Mhm," he grinned, leaning over.
At first, he was hesitant, unsure of how you'd react. But, when he saw your smile and your short nod, he finally kissed you. You kissed back, holding into his hair, your hands moved down to his neck, grabbing his shirt tightly as he held onto your cheeks. Though Bakugou had a hard outer shell, his lips were so soft.
He pulled back from the kiss, looking into your eyes, smiling warmly. You returned his smile, hugging him tight, squeezing him in an attempt to keep him close.
"I love you, Katsuki," you whispered softly, nuzzling into his neck.
Bakugou felt himself blush, the way you said his name made his stomach fill with butterflies. "I love you too, Y/N."
You smiled, kissing him once more. This time, just a peck.
"What should we do now?" You asked, wrapping your arms around his neck.
"I'm not sure," he said, holding you close. "We could play Mario Kart again... Who knows, maybe I'll let you win."
You laughed, "Orrrr, we could watch a movie."
He smiled, "Yeah, sounds good."
He pressed a quick kiss to your lips before standing up. "Do you want to go to my room?"
"What's wrong with my tv?" You teased, with a laugh.
He smirked, "Nothing, just your neighbors next door are loud, and mine aren't."
You nodded, "Fair enough." Remembering Mina's karaoke nights in her room next door.
"Okay, but I need to be back before lights out."
You followed behind him, keeping your hand on his waist as you walked up the stairs.

Chapter 2: Chilled Conversations
As soon as I opened the front door, the sound of shouting and explosions greeted me. I made my way up to my bedroom to drop off my book bag and then headed to Jazzs' room. I entered without knocking and found my sister sitting on her bed with headphones in and surrounded by homework.
"Jazz," I called, trying to gain her attention. When she doesn't acknowledge me, I try calling her name a little louder, "Jazz." Not being in a waiting mood, I walk closer to her and wave my hand in front of her face. She continues staring at the page as if nothing is there. I look towards my hand just to make sure I didn't accidentally turn intangible on the way over.
I couldn't keep in my sigh when instead of my hand being at the end of my arm, the only thing there was an empty sleeve. For some reason, my powers have been slipping away from me more often recently. I thought I was over this stage of the ghostly experience already. Focusing on becoming tangible, I waited until my hand came back into existence then gently pulled one earbud out of her ear.
As soon as it came out, I had her full attention, " Little brother," she greeted. Then, she looked at me, signaling that I should tell her what I wanted so she could get back to her work.
When I didn't answer her right away, she pushed away from her things and patted the side of her bed, allowing me to sit down. I readily take her invitation as I flop down onto her bed and lay back to stare at the ceiling. She studied me for a moment and let out a sigh, "what's wrong this time? You haven't hurt yourself again, have you?" I don't answer for a moment as I try to get comfortable before answering, "It's nothing like that. It's just.." I pause, thinking of how to go about this before deciding that it wasn't worth it, " Never mind, it's been a long day, that's all." She turns back to her work and gathers it all together before placing it on the floor and laying next to me.
" Okay, and?" she says, prompting me to go on. I thought about not telling her about anything at all, but the silence broke my resolve. I put a hand up to my face and rubbed my eyes before telling her about my day, leaving out the ongoing argument I have with Sam and Tucker about my ghost powers and the talk with Mr. Lancer and Ms. Tally.
I would rather deal with the lingering anxieties about both of them than come clean to Jazz. She always means well, but she can be a bit of a mother hen. I don't know why she does it, but she constantly analyzes all of my arguments, and if I told her about the meeting, I would be doomed to relive the whole thing. She is always asking questions. I blame the fact that she is a budding psychologist.
As I tell her about the hallway incident, I notice Jazz slowly turning red. It wasn't long until her face resembled her hair. Once I got to the fact that I had to stay after school because of my tardiness, she was scowling and had a fist full of bedding. " You told her, right? You told Ms. Tally why you were late, didn't you?" she interrogated, I shook my head no, and she let out a sound of frustration. " You can't keep letting Dash and the others do you like this! It isn't right you do understand that don't you?"
"Well, what else was I supposed to do?" I mumble to her. She sat up quickly, starting to lecture, "Tell somebody! But, seriously, Danny, if you let this go on, you're going to be in more trouble than detention." I couldn't think of anything to say; she is right after all.
" I said that I didn't tell Ms.Tally during class, not that I didn't say anything at all." Jazz looked relieved as if I finally got some reason in my brain. " So what are they going to do?" she asked impatiently."The teachers are going to keep us separated in classes, but besides that, I'm not sure what else they are going to do." she looks put out, " that's it?" I nod my head, yes, and she lets out a small groan, " well, at least that's better than nothing."
Even though this is a good thing for me, it is still worrying. What if other people start getting messed with? What if the next person that gets picked on can't take it? I would rather be the A-Lists punching bag for the rest of high school if it means that everyone else is left alone. I'm left by myself to my worries as Jazz goes back to her homework, and I go to grab mine. I end up doing my homework in her room with us both, enjoying each other's presence and silence.
By the time dinner comes around, Jazz is finished with her things, and she comes to look over mine. The only things that she was unable to help me with are astronomy, math, and science. Unlike me, STEM classes aren't her area of expertise. She can breeze by any other type of class no problem, but these classes are something she has to try to excel in.
Once Jazz is satisfied that my work is up to par, we head down the stairs into the kitchen. When we get there, it is empty. The only sign that anyone else is home is the array of sounds from the lab connected to it. I open the lab and take a peek inside. My parents, Jack and Maddie Fenton, are hunched over a table filled with different mechanical parts.
I go down, double-checking to make sure I'm completely visible and grab their attention. " Hey, Mom, what's for dinner?" She startles and drops the part in her hand, then looks up at me. " Oh, hey sweety, when did you get home?" Unfortunately, the lab doesn't have a clock, so I can only estimate when I answer, " A couple of hours. It's almost nine O'clock. Are we going to have dinner?" By the time I am done answering, Mom has already gone back to her parts. I stand there for a couple more seconds before interrupting again, " Mom?" Finally, she answers me absent-mindedly, " Maybe later, go upstairs. We will talk about it later."
I rush back into the kitchen, look at my sister, and give her a solemn nod, and then we get to work. We go back and forth between cabinets, the fridge, and the stove as a well-oiled machine. It doesn't take long before dinner is finished and is hitting the table. While I wish we could make dinner as a family, I can't help but feel that only Jazz and I should handle the food. Dad can't make anything more complex than a peanut butter sandwich, and Mom, well, let's just say her cooking is a bit unique. Just about every time she makes something, the food ends up having some kind of side effect. The food is either glowing or has come alive.
I suspect it's some kind of weird ecto- contamination.
While everyone is supposed to decontaminate themselves before leaving the lab, if they have messed with ectoplasm, Dad has difficulty remembering to do so when fudge is involved. At least when Jazz and I make it, there is at least an 80% chance that it comes out normal. I may have once or twice accidentally contaminated food when I was sick before, but since then, I have been extra careful not to do it again. I don't like having to fight my food for dominance.
This time Jazz went down to the lab and brought back our parents for dinner. As usual, dad stuffed his face as soon as we sat down, and mom brought back her latest gadget to fiddle with. We eat in silence until, "So, Mom, what did you do today?" Jazz asks, attempting to make small talk. Mom hums in thought for a short moment before, " Mostly just working in the lab today. We were trying to figure out how that ghost has managed to get our Fenton Thermos to work. He was at the Nasty Burger today; you should have heard those poor people over there. They were convinced that menace was there today to save the day!" She looks between Jazz and me and tells us seriously, " Just you two wait, it won't take long now for that thing to mess up. Once people start to see its true ways, everyone will know that all ghosts are evil."
I discreetly make eye contact with Jazz and signal that I want this conversation done with. A look of understanding is in her eyes, and she steers the conversation away from ghosts to some psychological thing that I don't understand. I quickly finish eating and head to my bedroom. It doesn't take more than ten minutes before Jazz comes in and shuts the door behind her. She leans up against the door and looks at me accusingly, " So the Nasty Burger, why is this the first time I'm hearing about this?" I started my defense immediately, " I told you about school and what was wrong earlier. It's not like you asked for a play-by-play of my entire day." She continued to glare at me until I mentioned that it was only the Boxxy.
" I don't see why you give him that ridiculous nickname, you're only getting him madder." I looked at her with fake surprise, "I make Boxxy mad oh no, it's not like I want to annoy him or anything." She gives me a look, and I roll my eyes back at her, " come on, it's not like giving him a nickname is going to hurt anybody. Maybe lose a couple of boxes, yes, but I make sure to bring them back." Jazz turns around and leaves with a huff.
I spent the rest of the night going back and forth between playing doomed and chasing the odd ghost that has made its way out of the zone. Since my parents have been held up in the lab, I have been unable to let go of the ghost I had previously caught throughout the past day or so. So finally, just before midnight, I make my way to bed and hope to make it through the night without any more interruptions.
I wake up hours later, feeling ice running through my veins. When I open my eyes, I see a pale blue mist escaping my mouth and into the room. I groggily sit up and look through my window to see the mechanical ghost rushing towards the house.
I let my transformation bubble over me and phase through the wall just as an ectoblast flew past me. I create an ecto-shield around myself and rush out to the middle of the street, away from FentonWorks and closer to the ghost. This ghost is immediately recognizable, with his armor being a staple piece of his being.
"Ghost child," he says in greeting, while I respond with my normal amount of displeasure, "Skulker." He prepares his weapons while spewing out his regular monolog, " This will be the day I, Skulker the Greatest Hunter in the Ghost Zone, claims your pelt welp." He pauses for a moment as if imagining something and then says a little out of character, "You know you would look perfect hanging in front of the fireplace. Maybe I'll only put half of you at the foot of my bed." He hums to himself while I stare dumbfounded, "decisions, decisions, oh never mind, I'll figure it out later. Prepare to die welp." He starts shooting his ecto-rockets and regular ectoblast immediately, hardly giving me the time to dodge them.
" I have been telling you this for months, first off EWW," like, gross, " Second, what is your problem it's like 3 in the morning!" Skulker just laughed and kept shooting. I noticed how much damage was happening to the neighborhood around us and did my best to lead him to an empty lot not too far away. It didn't take long as we were flying at speeds around 100 mph ( 161 kph). We exchanged ectoblasts and kept our shields around ourselves until one of us either lost too much energy or broke the other's shield.
My breath was quickening, and I was becoming less energized. The back and forth went on for a while, and both of us were tired. Both of our shields were starting to show some wear and tear, with small cracks running through the ectoplasm. Skulker's shield broke first, shattering like glass and leaving him defenseless.
I rush forward with the Fenton Thermos in hand and get ready to suck him up when he sets off another ectoblast that grazes past my face. The pain makes me hesitate, and Skulker pushes away from me, creating distance once again. I huff in annoyance, causing a spike of ice to fire out of my mouth and into the ground. Skulker and I both look towards the ice, me in shock and him in apprehension.
"W-What was that?" I ask breathlessly, still in shock; Skulker didn't look any better, gaping at me. I go up to him and slap him in the face, grabbing his attention. "What Is that?" I asked him again. He looks back and forth between the spike and my mouth and then goes closer towards the spike. He pokes it and then immediately takes his hand away. "It's solid ice," he informs me, "just touching it brings chills down my spine. How did you do it? " he asks in wonder.
"I don't know," I stammer out, " but can I guarantee you I plan on finding out how." We float in the middle of the lot for a few more moments before I ask, "Truce for the night?" He nodded his head, yes, and then I brought up the thermos once again. Skulker looks at me with dread, "Any chance you will let me get back to the Zone on my own?" I smirk at him and let out a small laugh, " No," I laugh once more, "Not a chance." I say as I suck him up into the thermos.
As soon as he is back in the thermos, I stop laughing, and my face turns into a grimace. My cheek is bleeding out a mixture of ectoplasm and blood, while the rest of me is in the middle of blooming into an array of bruises.
I look back at the ice and break a piece of it off, planning on taking it with me to study it. However, once it breaks off, the ice starts to turn powdery and crumbles into my hand. I look at its tiny crystals, mesmerized as it melts away. Before leaving the lot, I take a survey of the damage. Most of the ground has burn marks covering it, and the area around the spike is frozen over. I look away in shame at the damage before flying away.
On the way home, I turn over, floating on my back, and look up at the stars. With my enhanced eyesight, I can see them better than the naked human eye, almost as good as a low-quality telescope. The stars have always mesmerized me, taking my breath away. Every time I see them it's as if I get lost in their brightness, their shine. I would give just about anything to be among them. Instead, I take my time floating on home, trying to enjoy the sight for as long as possible.
Once I get to the Fenton Works sign, I float back to my room intangibly and drop through the floor to the lab. I empty the thermos and look around for the first aid kit, then go back upstairs. Luckily for me, my parents have already gone to bed, so my presence wasn't noticed.
I bandage the side of my face and check the rest of my body before heading back to bed, hoping to get some more sleep.
Unfortunately, by the time 6 AM came around, I had no such luck. Twice more, I had woken up by my ghost sense going off. Even though they were just a couple of octopuses and other animals, they still took some time to gather up.
Once I get ready for school, I rush to Jazz before she heads out the door and persuade her to let me ride in her car to school. Once we were settled in, I fell asleep, but it didn't take long for us to arrive, but I was gone to the world. Jazz had to resort to poking me in the ribs to wake me up.
"Late night again, little brother." She says, already knowing it to be fact. I let out a cautious yawn and rubbed my eyes, "What gave me away? I ask groggily. She runs her hand through my hair in a calming motion as she replies, " well, between wanting a ride and the new injuries," gesturing to my face, " it wasn't hard to guess." We sat there in silence for a little bit, with Jazz running her hand through my hair and me leaning onto her. We don't leave the position until we hear the warning bell ring and hurry out of the car.
I wave to my sister, " have a good day." She smiles at me and tells me the same, but before we separate, she grabs my arm and turns me around to face her. "Remember to remind your teachers about the A-List," I nod to her, " if they don't do anything when the class first starts," she tells me seriously. "Okay, okay," I reply, "come on, we're going to be late. Jazz gives me a quick hug then rushes down the opposite hallway.
I'm almost to English when a hand comes out of nowhere and knocks me into the wall. The impact had my body crying in agony as it put pressure on the bruises going across me. I look up with pain in my eyes to see Dash and a couple of his cronies boxing me in. I try to see past the jocks looking for a teacher, but I couldn't see a thing with them towering over me.
Dash didn't even say a thing before he delivered the first punch. I take a couple more as the other two keep me in place before we hear the shout of, "Detention!" The others turn around and move just far enough apart to see Ms. Tetslaff the P.E teacher coming towards us. She is a tall, intimidating woman with light brown hair and blue eyes. I don't think I have ever seen her out of gym clothes, and she lives to keep the A-List in trouble.
Once she comes in front of us she corners me while I start sputtering excuses, " well you see-" I started to explain before she cuts me off. " Get to class Fenton, now you Baxter are going to follow me to my office," she turned to look at the others, "You two as well." All of us looked at her as if she had lost her mind, but Dash still looked to be in denial as he showed no sign of worry at being in trouble.
I rush off to class trying to make my way to class before the bell rings and Ms. Tetslaff changes her mind. I make it into the classroom just as the bell rings and go towards my normal seat as Mr. Lancer Calls out to the class, "Before you all get comfortable I need you to gather your things and move to your new assigned seats." The class let out a sign of displeasure. Everyone went up to the podium and another set of groans were heard. I take a look and see that all of the A-List were separated. I checked for my own name and to my joy Sam, Tucker, and I were still grouped together with the only difference being that we were brought up to the front of the room.
This is going to be a good day.
All of my classes containing students from the A-Lists were given new seating arrangements giving me a new hope for my grades. So far classes are quieter but nothing else has seemed to change. Many of the A-List were called out for making a scene in class and hopefully things keep getting better.
It was at lunch that my luck ran out as I once again came face to face with Dash Baxter. " You must have thought that was so funny, didn't you Fenton?" He says accusingly, I tried to stay neutral but I still couldn't help the look of mirth that is planted on my face. Finally he is being held accountable. Dash was getting closer to me when one of his buddies called him off reminding him that he was in trouble and that he doesn't need to get into anymore.
Half way into lunch was when Jazz appeared. She sat down at our table, put her elbows on it, and laid her chin in her hands. She looked at me with the fakest smile that I have ever seen and said in a sing-song voice, "Oh, Danny, is there something you forgot to tell me about yesterday?" I started to pale as she went on, "Oh, I don't know, maybe the fact that you told Mr.Lancer and Ms.Tally about a little ghostly occurrence?" If her look could kill I would be a pile of mush.
"Danny," Sam interjects, " what is she talking about?" looking at me suspiciously while Tucker is stuffing his face looking between the girls I start to crack under pressure. "Whaz et uhg detesuin yezteraay?" Tucker inquires with his mouth full.
" well you see… it wasn't exactly a detention," Sam and Tucker give me a betrayed look, probably thinking the worst, " I thought it was, I swear," I tell them sincerely. " Ms. Tally brought me to Mr. Lancer's office and wanted to ask me about my attendance, grades, and stuff." I Look at Jazz in the eye trying to convey that I didn't see any harm in my words, " I didn't know they would talk to you I swear! I was only trying to be honest." Her anger lessened at my words but the hostility is still there. " I only told the basics, nothing in detail I swear!"
"What exactly are you going on about?" asked Tucker, having his mouth free of food for once. Sam nodded her head agreeing with Tucker wanting an explanation. I put my head in my hands and said, " All I did was say that the house is loud and that it can be hard to sleep, and that some of the ghosts have an unhealthy obsession with us." Sam looked thoughtful, " Well that doesn't sound too bad," Jazz amended ", but then again I guess you could have done worse."
"Hey," I exclaim offended, " you're the one who said honesty is the best policy. It's the truth… not the whole truth but not a lie either."
Jazz gave me a look telling me that I am all forgiven but said, "Next time a little heads up would be nice."
"I'll keep that in mind."

His brain. He remembers small details extremely well, and is practically an encyclopedia when it comes to alchemy.
98. Something that they regret?
How awful he used to be to everyone back home. He got a lot of pushback on his dreams and who he was, so he lashed out. Even though there wasn’t much he could do there, he still regrets hiring his family and wants to try at a relationship again with them (lol good luck).
99. Biggest accomplishment?
How is this different from “Greatest Achievement”?
100. Create your own! (Why is his alchemy so different from the norm?)
Because he’s trying to do something much more along the lines of modern medicine as opposed to just potions.
101. (Bonus!) Why is he in Skyrim?
Because it’s rather lacking in the medicine department compared to the other provinces, so he decided his talents would be best used there. Obviously, his family protested, but he went anyways.

Puppeteer Headcanons
K so this mans has been living in my head rent free since I first laid eyes on them (like 2013) so here are my headcanons about their backstories, personalities, and more. Some are inspired by the original stories and lore, some are inspired by other bloggers, some are me self-projecting. Warning there are mentions of dark themes so keep caution. Also i am not a writer, (im sorry) @creepy-bi-day enjoy!!
Puppeteer~
Backstory:
Puppeteer was born as Jonathon Blake on July 23, 1974
Mother was Hispanic, dad was American. He grew up speaking Spanish and English. He also never really got along with both sides of the family cause he’s mixed (they didn’t like that). They kinda preferred his siblings.
had 4 younger siblings (3 girls, 1 boy). He was 4 years older than the second child.
ever since he could walk he was obsessed with musical theater. For a while his family was able to Johnny to theater camp. Stopped after the 3rd child was born due to financial reasons
parents were working full time to take care of their family. meant Johnny was basically acting like a 3rd parent. good news was he was able to take care of all 4 of them and meet their basic need of being fed, staying clean etc. bad news it meant that he was taking care of them 24/7 and was constantly tired and not taking care of himself. Started to develop symptoms of depression, but couldn’t get help due to the stigmas around mental health + he’s a guy.
got worse in highschool when his work load increased and he wanted to do more in drama and music but couldn’t cause he had to take care of his siblings. He also didn’t make many close friends except for one girl in his drama class Erma.
Erma was his best friend and they started dating in their second year of highschool. She helped him as much as she could with his mental health, their studies, and even helped babysit some days. They brought out the best in each other.
Erma loved dance and wanted to become a ballerina, but her parents tried to keep her focus on studies. They did allow her to take theater which she also loved. Her parents were very strict and controlling so she had to hid her relationship.
It wasn’t until the second child turned 13 (johnny was 17), when she started to help out more with the other three siblings (12f, 9f, 7m). Thanks to her help and now they were in a better financial position, johnny was able to join plays and bands which had afterschool practices.
He was really good. He discovered he was born with perfect pitch and was able to get the lead in a play in his final year. This was also when he was able to score a scholarship so some of his uni fees would be paid for.
he decided to major in theater and wanted to go on Broadway or at least become a drama teacher
however when apply for uni, Erma’s parents discovered their relationship and they offered Erma a choice, break up with johnny or else they wouldn’t pay for Erma’s schooling. They hated johnny mostly due to racism and the fact that he wasnt going into a “stable career”. Erma choose to break up with Johnny but didn’t want to tell him these reasons cause she knew that it would upset him. So instead she told him that she’s fallen out of love and wanted to break up.
Johnny agreed mostly to make her happy, but this started his spiral downwards.
Johnny didn’t have any friends other than Erma, he also went to uni in a different city so he didn’t have his family there. His depression got really bad, and he ended up isolating himself and failing first term. He decided to kill himself via hanging. Problem is he wasn't heavy enough to kill himself right away, so he was suffering for hours.
He spent his last few hours allowing himself to finally “be selfish” and allowed himself to be angry at his family, Erma, and his overall life.
due to this anger, he was able to come back as a ghost, wanting others to feel the same pain as him.
when he came back he was able to change his body into his idea of a perfect vessel, some improvement were making himself taller, better hair, clear face, smooth voice, bigger dick. and now feeds off of negative energy
Personality:
cold-hearted, cunning, manipulative, a smooth talking, somewhat charming. this is the very carefully crafted version of Puppeteer, He’s the guy who could talk you into doing anything, mostly stuff like jumping off a bridge
however once you get close to him, you see more of Johnathon than puppet. He is very protective of his close friends, will fuss over them and scold them if they aren’t taking care of themselves
good luck getting there tho. After Erma he really had a hard time opening up to ppl due to his fear that they will all leave him at one point.
Powers:
he feeds off of negative energies, the more trauma the better (finally imma a snack), so he usually influences his victims into a deep depressed state where they off themselves. However once he started hanging out with the creeps (mansion au), he really didn’t need to do that since everyone is a lil fucked up. He just feeds off a little bit of everyone, so that no one is really affected. At this point, he probably has enough energy to outlive the fucking queen
He’s a ghost so he can levitate at most like 10 m above the ground, and if he focuses, he can go through walls and become invisible.
he has golden strings due to the ectoplasm inside of him (make his eyes and mouth glow to). This strings are like limbs, They are tough to break but if you do its gonna hurt him a lot. They can extend up to 60 ft, and are about 1 cm thick.
Fun Facts (cause idk how to categorize these)
lots of trauma, need therapy. he feels a lot of shame for what happened and only opens up to his very close friends. again born in 70′s, theres the toxic masculinity and some internalized homophobia.
still a theater kid!! love musicals and can still sing and play guitar. His vocal cords are a lil more sensitive cause the whole hanging thing, but as long as he warms up, can has the range baby. also has Macbeth memorized
can still cook. while he doesn’t like his past and doesn’t need to eat. He wrote down all of the recipes he knew and will sometimes make them again
dick is 6.5 inchs soft 7.5 hard, i know y’all wanted to know. if also like 6′2 tall. tall big boi
i hc him as pansexual. yea he rather died again than admit that he loves someone, but he won’t care about gender. he still is cis tho.
he does fuck. not often but occasionally. slightly lower sex drive than average
grunge king. he grew up in poverty and he great at diy. very leans more punk grunge but can be soft grunge depending on his mood. love beanies and his hair is a little longer than chin length with lots of layers. He is tempted to shave off the sides of his head tho. also has grunge and punk music on his playlists.
bad with tech. like the opposite of ben. gets called an old man since he couldn’t figure out how the tv remote works.
he doesn’t grow facial hair, doesn’t like the look.
acts like he’s too proper to cuss, but he does.... a lot
experienced some racism while growing up so he does say ACAB
probably has some piercings or tattoos or both
still is depressed, has some tough days, but doctor ej gets him pills to help and he has a good support system
shit this was a lot so Helen is next with another post. ill get into their friendship and relationships with other in a whole new post if yall like it. someone tell me if this gives joy cause i could write an essay on this man

how I'd rewrite Danny Phantom
forever salty that elmer glue ruined such a good concept so it’s my territory now
Ghosts are dead, 100%. The science behind it is very paranormal investigation-y but the Fenton family is ten thousand times better than the other “ghost hunters” of their time.
Also, there are some ghosts that come from metaphorical deaths. I.E. Pandora, she technically didn’t exist but when the Ancient Greek culture died out, so did the gods and goddesses. They’re not technically ghosts but they are ectoplasm-based, so they get lumped in with them.
The Fenton family has been a bit dysfunctional for the past four years (10-14 for Danny, 12-16 for Jazz) because it took four years for Jack and Maddie to build the ghost portal. Jazz took over and learned how to really clean the house, while Danny learned how to cook. He’s not the best, but Danny can definitely make some good Ramen from scratch.
Maddie and Jack realized a bit later that the portal had overtaken their life and feel really bad for abandoning their kids, and when it didn’t work they tried to rekindle those relationships. Even with it working, they still do.
We all know what happened when the portal finished; it didn’t work. Because Jack put a switch on the inside that should’ve been on the outside, not the “on-off” button. The switch was loose and when Danny knocked into it, the portal turned on, because it was just waiting for a little spark-- like how when a cord is not totally plugged in.
This was the beginning of summer, around the end of May, and a month after it was technically done. Danny (no stranger to the hospital, he’d been in a few times when he was younger because he was born two weeks premature) was in the hospital until August, a few weeks before school started. He was exempt from his eighth-grade exams and passed all of his classes, so the district let him slide.
Danny doesn’t have an ice core. As cool as it is (pun intended) it makes no sense in the narrative. Like, he was electrocuted, and he’s got the “ghost-stinger” ability, why would he have ICE POWERS? He’s got an electricity core instead (slightly inspired by the electric undead oops).
His ghost sense is less of a mist and more of a gut feeling, and he literally becomes a static electricity magnet.
Danny’s character is a bit closer to the show.
He's quiet around strangers, but open with his friends. Trust thing.
Still made fun of for being the kid of two weird parents, but he’s honestly used to it by high school. He’s also bullied for his autism and ADHD, but he’s been bullied for them for about ten years so he’s used to it.
Still wants to be an astronaut-- science is his best subject, second to math. History is his third-best, he hates English and Gym class.
He’s tiny and scrawny, like a toothpick. It comes from being a sick child, though after the accident he’s able to lean out and gain a bit of “muscle”.
After the accident, he gets a bit paler than he was before and doesn’t tan. There’s also a Lichtenberg scar covering about half of the right side of his body from the accident, going from his fingertips, up his arm and over his chest, neck, about down to his knee.
He’s incredibly self-conscious about it but it doesn’t hurt, weirdly enough. For the “first season” he covers up and wears a lot of sweaters and long-sleeves.
His pulse and body temperature are much below normal. The hospital was concerned with this after the accident, but after a few days of him seeming fine, they had to drop it. Danny can also hold his breath about five times longer than a normal human.
Is he half-dead? Yes, technically. Does he not try and think about his mortality? Yes.
He enjoys puns and jokes still, though he makes them more as Phantom.
Speaking of Phantom, no, he doesn’t go by “Danny Phantom”. Just Phantom. He is trying to avoid dissection from his parents, you know.
Phantom has no scars from the accident, the only thing that he has in common with his human half is the mole on his cheek, but it’s green now (because yes, both halves have freckles!) because of his ectoplasm. He’s much more floaty, and if you don’t focus on him he looks like he’s made of television static. He also has little fangs.
You can see his details better up close, and the longer you spend with Phantom, the more details you can see. All ghosts are like that, their energy is on the fritz all the time and human eyes need to adjust to it to understand certain features. The only reason Sam and Tucker know him right away is because they watched him, y’know...
Danny is asexual, only realizing the identity in the middle of freshman year when Sam literally had to explain that yes, Danny, sexual attraction is a thing and not made up. (Based on my own experience.)
Sam and Tucker are both different in this story, but they still remain Danny’s only friends. They have other friends, though.
Sam is still goth.
She wears all black and even dyed her ginger hair black. There aren’t many surviving photos of Sam with her natural hair, she made sure of it.
Sam is like... punk-goth? Punk-goth-grunge? She identifies as goth, but her clothes can fit all three categories, really.
100% bisexual, has bi pins all over her bag. Out to her parents, who are slowly trying to understand. She doesn’t mind they/them pronouns, either, and her gender identity is just a shrug with middle fingers.
She knows a lot of the LGBT students at school and is the vice-president of the GSA she helped found.
Both Sam and Danny had a mutual crush on each other through half of freshman year and all of eighth grade, Sam decided that she’d rather be friends and Danny realized it was mostly him wanting to be friends.
Sam is vegan. She isn’t as pushy about it as she is in the show (I feel like it was extreme and really made fun of vegans/vegetarians, I know it’s a kids show but still) and all of her family is vegan, too. She’s big on animal rights, but recognizes the line to not cross.
Her family is also Jewish, like in canon.
Though she did campaign and successfully get the school cafeteria to have a “Tofu Tuesday” every other week, so that’s something, at least! (And where Mystery Meat would start)
Still mourns My Chemical Romance, into all music like that.
Tucker is still a “nerd”, but he doesn’t get picked on by the jocks for being a nerd.
He’s pretty hipster, too. His red beret is now a red beanie, and he has naturally curly hair poking out. He loves his natural hair, he just loves the beanie.
His “nerd” seems from his technological abilities. He has the latest smartphone a month after it comes out, and always has a “tablet”/iPad knockoff in his bag. He knows how to take things apart and sell them for money, and is also pretty good at programming.
Tucker DEFINITELY has a gaming channel. He only has about 3,000 subscribers, but that’s still pretty good. His most-popular video is him talking about the Indie game industry. He might try and program some of his own games (ahemPhantomfangameahem)
He loves meat, just like in the show. He jokes about it a lot with Sam, and Sam jokes back. Sometimes they can lead into fights if neither are in the mood, but both of them are pretty good-natured about it.
Tucker is a ladies-man, and a man’s-man, and a nonbinary’s-man-- he’s pansexual. Doesn’t figure out that’s a thing until he stays behind school one day to help Sam with the GSA, but once he does he’s out and proud. Still flirts terribly, though, but now no one is immune from his terrible flirts.
Scared of doctors and needles-- had a bad experience as a child, projects it on everything medicine-related. Tries to avoid taking medicine at all cost, unless it’s really severe. Hates flu season, can be a bit of a hypochondriac/germaphobe. Has one of those Bath and Body Works hand sanitizer things on his bag.
Out of the trio, he’s more terrified of the ghosts, though after a while he gets used to them.
The A-Listers and school remain mostly the same.
Wes Weston is 100% a thing.
The A-Listers are more preppy than before, and definitely try and get away with what they can with modern fashion-- at least, Paulina and Star will. Dash and Kwan are a bit fashion-deaf (Kwan. Owns. Crocs.)
They’re still jerks and Dash still picks on Danny a lot, but the teachers are more competent and he can’t get away with more physical stuff unless no one is looking. Dash is probably a victim of his own domestic abuse at home and takes it out on people-- totally wrong and not moral, but he doesn’t think there’s much of an option. Only Kwan and Paulina know about his situation.
Kwan is pretty smart and strong, but he dresses like a disaster. He mostly sticks to wearing his letterman jacket and a black t-shirt and jeans, but if he ever has to “dress-up” or wears something else, it’s awful. Cargo shorts galore. Crocs. Someone get the Fab 5 to help him, please.
Paulina is pretty prissy, and doesn’t like getting dirty often. She’s a cheerleader and she’s good at it, but she’s only second-in-command of the squad, or however that works. She doesn’t mind, less work for her to do, and the person in charge enjoys it a lot. Paulina tends to make fun of Sam and Tucker’s clothes often, and like the rest of the A-Listers, everything listed above for Danny (sans the Phantom thing). Once Phantom becomes big, she gets a huge celebrity crush on him, probably has ten different Stan accounts for him.
Star is the head cheerleader, and enjoys every moment of it. She also enjoys math, and she’s really good at that too. Of the canon characters, only Danny can keep up. She isn’t good at much else academia-wise, though she does enjoy a bit of biology and forensics. Much smarter than most people think-- it will astound you.
Valerie is a part of their squad at first, only because she, Paulina and Star live in the same neighborhood. After Valerie moves to an apartment, their friendship falls apart after a big fight-- this is entirely not ghost-related, by the way. Vlad only contacts her after learning that her dad was hurt in a ghost attack and Phantom wasn’t there to help, and emotionally manipulates her. She becomes the Red Huntress and hunts Danny, and they do date for a few months before calling it quits. I’m not big on shipping, per say, but if there has to be a canon endgame, it’ll be these two.
Wes Weston. He’s technically canon? I guess? But also fanon? Either way, having a character like Wesley Weston trying to expose Danny as Phantom and always failing is hilarious, but can also introduce other things into the series as well. How does Wes know? Is he like, psychic, or something...?
Oh, and Vlad.
He’s much more emotionally manipulative. Danny was really considering having him train him in ghost-powers and stuff until Vlad made an off-comment about Jack, and Danny saw through the act.
They’re very much enemies. Not frenemies, but enemies. Danny is terrified of Vlad, but doesn’t want him to hurt his family.
Vlad, above all, wants a family. He missed out on those years being in and out of the hospital because of his own, botched accident, and he has scars all over his face from the “ecto-acne” that he hides with makeup.
He’s equivalent to Elon Musk, but less of a weeabo. DALV Corporations has a lot more stock in experimental sciences, though, including paranormal investigation. When he learns that Jack and Maddie had successfully created the Ghost Portal, he puts a lot more funding into their projects and reconnects.
Still got the creepy Maddie-crush. Does get a cat named Matti, though (no connection or correlation, shut up, Daniel). Hates Jack because of his own accident, and begins to despise him even more for not noticing the scars left on Danny’s accident, too.
Less of a vampire in ghost form. He has a fire core, which makes a lot of his ectoplasm heat-based. Probably has laser eyes that Danny desperately tries to emulate but alas, cannot. The only reason he has a leg up on Danny is experience, not strength. He was only blasted in the face, not the whole body, after all.
At some point there’s probably an argument with Vlad and the Fentons and he decides “screw it” and makes an offset of DALV that focuses on ghost-hunting.
No Mayor thing, but he does move away from Wisconsin to live in Amity Park.
Amity Park is... Well, it’s something.
It was already a pretty creepy town before the ghosts get involved.
It was already a pretty creepy town before the ghosts get involved.
There’s always been unexplained murders, disappearances, and strange lights in the sky that no one could identify—a lot of hints towards something other-than-ghosts existing, which makes sense.
Amity Park is much weirder after the ghost portal opens. Not because of the ghost attacks and their ghostly superhero, but because the veil was torn a bit, and it was felt throughout the town.
On the moment of Danny’s accident, there was a massive power outage, and they become a bit more frequent to everyone’s dismay. Much of the older residents of the town are against ghosts—if excepting Phantom, on occasion. The younger residents are more open to the undead spectres, though, and are much less afraid of them.
Phantom becomes a youth icon, and his twitter account that started off small and as a joke gets him national popularity.
Tucker, naturally, rides this wave and gets a giant boost in YouTube subscribers, especially after he posted a few videos with Phantom. No one questions this except the A-Listers, who just want to know howhe did this.
Okay that’s enough of an info-dump I don’t want to spoil everything. I’ll probably post this stuff on my ao3—calling this story “Hero Complex” for now, still working on the title.

Do u have any UA teacher headcanons? Like about their interactions with each other or background info? Idk it's kinda fun to think about what they get up to out of class. I really like that drawing Horikoshi did of Nemuri, Yamada, Aizawa and Yagi drinking together.
Honestly haven’t though too hard about this but I’ll try,
- Nemuri, Yamada, and Aizawa have been friends since high school, and won’t let each other forget it. They have so many embarrassing stories about one another, and are not afraid to drop them on the other faculty and students. The kids know their teachers did something to mess with one another when it’s “story time” in class.
- Blood King goes back and forth on how he feels about Aizawa’s teaching methods. On the one hand, his harshness helps weed out the slackers and prepares the holdouts for the cruel realities they’ll face later in life. But on the other, it’s presumptuous to assume you know right off the bat whether or not a child has the potential to grow and improve. He personally likes the challenge of problem kids like Monoma.
- A lot of alumni have kept contact with the UA teachers. Before security was tightened, it wasn’t an uncommon sight to see a random young pro in the halls around lunch or right as classes end. Some took the time to visit everyone, others suck to their favorite former teacher.
- Most of Lunch Rush’s hero work outside of UA revolves around community service. He supplies food to the homeless or displaced disaster victims. He probably teaches cooking classes for low income families. Students not in the hero course go to help him to get service hours.
- I imagine Thirteen’s quirk would run down their suit pretty quick, so it would need to be replaced fairly often. They time the replacements to near the end of the school year so graduating hero students can sign/draw on it.
- They’ve made a game out of embarrassing students they bump into in public. Everyone is in on it. Thecurrent lead with the best story is Ectoplasm. He ran into Tokoyami and his mother while out shopping one day. Both of the bird-headed kid’s parents are apparently huge fans of his, and she invited him to dinner on the spot. He went of course. Got their special apple pie recipe.
- Though we mostly see Hound Dog angry in canon, I picture him to be a friendly, articulate guy when he’s in a good mood. They wouldn’t let him be the guidance counselor to dozens of traumatized young heroes otherwise. His quirk gives him sensitivity not unlike a service dog, so he’s always on top of breakdowns. He always has the best snacks, and prides himself on having the comfiest couch on campus in his office. All are welcome to come speak to him, though most are too afraid since they’ve only seen the mad dog side. He keeps detailed records for the students he feels to be at-risk, and isn’t hesitant to bring up the possibility of them seeing an outside therapist should he fell they need one.
- Most of the current staff were hand-selected by Nezu. Once he became principal, he slowly began replacing the old guard with his choices. His reasons are unknown.
- Toshinori revealed his true form to everyone the first staff meeting after he was hired. Needless to say, everyone was shocked. Too shocked to really react. Most of the UA staff is fairly young, so All Might would have been around for most of their lives growing up too. Even for those who weren’t fans, the image All Might has always been a constant. An untouchable feature of the landscape. Seeing that undone probably took a couple days to process.
- They all warmed up to the soft-spoken scarecrow man pretty fast. Everyone invites him to fun stuff outside of school; both because they want the guy to feel included, and hey, who wouldn’t want to hang out with the greatest hero of all time?

For my birthday, my little sis’ said she would make a digital pic for me!
Bottom right is what i started planning it out with, and it morphed into what it is now! It was a mashup of lots of my fav characters. Still a WIP, but she’s the best!
See OC description below the cut!
Origin: This guy’s name is Criss, as in Criss-Cross. He’s technically a Ben 10 alien, but forms by pulling the essence/soul of various characters from other universes. Probably was originally a result of some universe-ending problem that was Ben’s fault to begin with (dimensional surge?). They’re pretty stable now.
Looks/Pieces: Main body is Genos’ machine body (OPM). He has Astro’s red boot-feet so he can actually fly (Astro Boy). Hair is a combo of Killua's and Deku’s, plus Edward’s braid (HxH, bnha, FMA). Right eye is Sebastian’s red demon eye; left eye is Rin’s blue one (Black Butler, Blue Exorcist). He’s wearing Danny’s white/red shirt with the wings of freedom and Eren’s jacket (DP, AoT). Those are Deku’s pants and belt. Hard to see are Ladybug’s and Chat’s miraculous ring and earrings (Miraculous Ladybug). He also has Rex’s goggles (Generator Rex). Obviously, Ben’s Omnitrix is on his wrist (Ben 10).
(not pictured) Mach 5 car with Voltron symbol. It acts kind of like a Voltron lion/Bumblebee fusion plus gadgets. This car is actually an overlay of Kevin’s car. The first time Criss waves his hand over Kev’s car and wills it into being, Kevin is horrified.
(not pictured) inside the Miraculous is a Kwami mixture of yin/yang.
Personality: He’s a flirtatious dork with a strong sense of justice and a knack for being a jerk sometimes. He can be REALLY scary when he wants/needs to be (’cause of Sebastian, Killua, and Eren) but it’s rare. He’s impulsive most of the time but is a thorough thinker under pressure. He’s got a bit of MPD because there are literally 13 people inside of his head. They all speak out of the same mouth, so he sounds insane 90% of the time, but they sync together in stressful situations. Criss tends to overthink in stressful situations, so Gwen and Kevin are there to ground him.
*Puns and Snark are a given with this bunch*
Has perks like: KILLING INTENT via Killua and RIGHTEOUS ANGER via Eren. Plus: an extra bonus of SADISM courtesy of Sebastian
Criss is a complete idiot most of the time, but in the middle of battle, he’ll just start talking about theoretical physics and trigonometry. Gwen doesn’t really know how to deal with him. (2)
They’ve got an. odd. collection of knowledge.
“How are we supposed to know what human beings are made of?”
“What, like it’s hard?”
He’s got like, a surprising amount of common sense considering all of the doofuses that make him up. Marinette helps w/that a lot.
Extra Perk: He is the ULTIMATE negotiator.
Adrien knows how to work the business man/fashion scene. The boy has got a walk.
Sebastian is awesome at the intimidation factor, but Deku makes him seem really trustworthy.
Ben, Rex, and Rin keep him low key and #relatable.
Marinette is the only one of them who has any kind of emotional maturity. She good at reading people too. The only reason any of this works. Keeps them on task for almost everything.
Merging: Criss is a mesh of essences and memories, but all inside are aware of what is going on. When in separated by ‘verses, they have almost an empathic/telepathic link where they can sometimes send pulses/images down the link. Every once in a while, one of them can ‘pull’ on the essence of someone else to help them. However:
In order to fully merge, all of them of must agree, but it’s usually not a big deal; it’s pieces of the characters’ souls that are transferred, not their bodies. It doesn’t really affect what they are doing atm unless it’s super complicated.
Weaknesses:
The Ultimate Klutz, unfortunately. Sorry Mari. Very ADHD and seems to have a pretty severe MPD, for obvious reasons. Kind of off-putting as a person. Extremely draining form when in combat, Ben will sleep for days afterwards.
Powers:
Obviously, Criss has got Super-strength from multiple people and exceptional sneak ability and balance (most of the time).
Danny:
- ectoplasm blast
- can briefly become intangible but not invisible
“Why are you all so friggin’ dense???”
- can fly a space ship
“Why are you looking at me? I don’t know how to fly an Earth space shuttle!”
“I do!”
“YOU DO?!”
“How?!?”
“Simulations.”
“...We’re all going to die.”
Rex:
- able to transform legs into a bike
- can talk to machines
Astro:
- legs can fly
Ladybug:
- creation power helps with [inventory] power from the Gamer
- Because Criss has both the earring and the ring, he is technically a god. (1)
- Marinette’s stubbornness overrules all, and she can take control of Criss completely when they’re being really annoying. Sebastian occasionally assists. The two of them have the ability to literally shove everyone back to their home dimension, leaving behind an intimidating, girly version of Ben with red eyes. Ben’s still there but he’s been silenced by fear.
Edward:
- can do alchemy
“Wait, we can do magic?”
“No.”
Rin:
- He can COOK! It’s actually really good, and Gwen is pretty tempted to keep him as Criss.
Kevin: “Since when can you cook Ben?”
Criss: “I am a man of many talents.”
Also Criss, immediately after: “They’re my talents, Kitchen Failure.”
- Demon fire
- can perceive/talk to demons
Chat:
- Cataclysm
- The unmatched ability to perch on top of/in lockers, waiting to scare anyone with great relish.
HILARITY to be found in this ‘verse:
a. Someone asks his opinion on something and he literally just freezes from indecisiveness.
b. He’s like half a foot taller than Kevin, and Kevin is pissed.
Kevin thinks Criss is way cooler than Ben tho’ so it’s cool.
c. On one instance, one of the guys has been forced/dared into wearing something hideously embarrassing in his home ‘verse. Cue him being horrified as he’s pulled into Criss in a time of crisis, thinking it will transfer with him. Turns out that their shared body is more made up of their mental images than anything.
“Why’d you seem so worried when you showed up?”
*sends mental image*
*muffled snickers and exclamations and an overall sigh of relief*
d. (1) It’s a thing with him, like his war cry.
“I have the power of God and anime on my side” - said in the midst of battle
Gwen and Kevin. Need It To Stop.
“You dare defy your God?!?”
“Shut up Ben.”
“It’s Criss!”
Sebastian hates it. Therefore, when ever Criss yells it, he rolls his eyes at himself. It’s a little bit hilarious.
e. A lot of them are SUPER excited at the idea of aliens. Some; not so much.
“A-Aliens?!”
“I thought they were EVOs, but clearly they’re from outer space.”
“Cool!”
“Eh, I’ve dealt with worse.”
f. Sporadic cursing via Edward. and fake cursing via Danny
“You frigging fruit loop!”
“What?”
g. Randomly, one of them will just give a full-body shiver and say “Oh, this is disgusting.”
h. (2) Criss actually has a modicum of common sense, so Kevin is really impressed at first.
“Wow, it’s almost like you’re a real, rounded person!”
*Eren screams*
“Never mind.”
I. They get a lot of awkward questions.
Some Behind-the-times Surfer Dude: “So, like, are you a boy or a girl?”
*silence*
Criss: “I am a GOD!”
Kevin, absolutely done: “SHUT UP”
. . .
Gwen, later: “He’s technically right, you know.”
Kevin, nearly crying: “Yeah, but denial is the only thing keeping me going at this point.”
J. Sometimes, Criss gets SUPER DUPER excited, for various reasons.
Deku, about other heroes/aliens,
Adrien, about anime,
Sebastian, about cats,
etc.
It’s slightly adorable, slightly disturbing.
K. Criss randomly starts talking about fashion, mostly due to Marinette, and shows surprising prowess
Gwen, vaguely disturbed: “Um, have you seen your outfit?”
Criss: “Yes and I hate it.”
L. Criss can and will have conversations/arguments with himself out loud for hours on end. They can be about anything. Literally. Anything.

Ice, His Best Friend
Day 3, “Ice” - enjoy!
Ice. His best friend.
Even before he developed the ice powers he was quite fond of it.
He always loved ice cream, he could eat tons of it. He always needed to check if it wasn't contaminated with ectoplasm, but it was standard procedure with everything that was ever put in the refrigerator. Obviously after the Accident it stopped being a problem. He even began to look for the contaminated ones, the ectoplasm helped him heal and was a great source of nourishment.
Then there was the snow, and everything he could do with it. He loved to watch it fall from the sky in the light of the street lamps, he loved watching children plying snow fights, he loved each and every thing, snowmen, igloos, ice skating...
And by extension, he loved winter. The month when his ghost sense stopped being a problem, when he could wear long sleeves without anyone questioning him, he finally wasn't feeling like he was burning alive...
Christmas were in winter, but it was a small price to pay for three months of snow. At least the holidays gave him a chance to spend some more time outside while his parents were arguing.
He loved ice. He loved space. But the most he loved ice in the space.
There was plenty of ice in the space! A huge part of the Solar System was made of it. There were comets, rings, moons and even dwarf planets! And some of the ice was even older than the Sun itself!
Once he took a trip into the space to see some of it personally. He figured he was justified in using the powers the Accident gave him to reach he stars, as the same powers caused his grades to forever lock him on the surface of the Earth.
He took a quick glance on the moon and soared through the space for a bit. He found a comet flying through the System, made almost entirely from ice! And thanks to his intangibility he was able to get really close to it!
It was one of the best days in his life.
His love for the ice is the reason he was so ecstatic when he found out about his ice powers. Now he could make it snow in his own room or prompt snow fights in the middle of the summer or prank people or-
Well, it didn't all go as planned. His powers were working excellently, but he just couldn't make time for any of the fun stuff. He was shocked when one day he realized he was using them mostly to make ice packs.
And it wasn't even to prank anyone! It was a normal ice packs for his injuries.
He wished the ghosts would give him a moment to breath, a moment for not even fun, but barely a bit of sleep.
Sometimes it felt like he was moving purely out of spite and his hero complex.
Ice was good for him. Ice was the one thing he loved, the one thing he craved, the one thing that never let him down. Because how can an inanimate object let you down?
Few years after the Accident Clockwork announced he deserved a lair in the Ghost Zone. Which was... Disturbing to be hones. He never had any desire to get a lair, but who was he to argue with Clockwork?
So he went to the Far Frozen and asked if they would have anything against him making his island nearby. He had multiple reasons to do so - Far Frozen was far from any enemies (and potential enemies) he had in the Zone, their closeness meant he was safer in case of an attack, he would be close to Frostbite and the Infinity Map, and, of course, everywhere nearby was a very comfortably low temperature.
He nearly jumped when they agreed, barely restraining himself, but he did hugged every Yeti in close proximity.
His island wasn't very big, just enough to contain a small house of the size of his room. It was all made of ice, but he had no problem with that - the food he sporadically brought was kept from expiring for way longer than in the real life.
Once he invited Sam and Tucker over, but even in their thickest winter coats the temperature was unbearable for them.
Jazz came once too, but she only complimented him on the decor shoot the look he knew meant "oh no now I know something that might be disturbing but I must keep quiet because the person in question isn't ready for it", and asked to get back home.
She didn't say what she observed and he wasn't pressing.
It wasn't like his love for the ice was something bad. After all, it was part of himself. He couldn't really ignore it. Even his body started reflecting it! His temperature was way lower than that of a normal human. His eyes were compared to shards of ice countless times, and sometimes he found some frost in his hair when he was in ghost form. And it came in handy from time to time. The ice sculptures he made from it got him a few good marks! And he no longer needed to spent money he didn't have on models of space shuttles, he could make his own!
The food wasn't appealing to him anymore, but it wasn't really his fault. His father couldn't really cook, and whatever his mother did was extremely hot. Each time he ate something hot he had troubles digesting it.
If it depended on him, he would only eat ice cream, the more contaminated the better.
The day he discovered he could do his own ice cream was one of the happiest ones.
He didn't realized something was wrong until one day when he actually attacked somebody whom he saw as a threat for his ice sculpture. It was... Disturbing experience to say at least. He was supposed to have the hero complex, wasn't he?
But when he told this his sister she just made a sad face at him.
"Oh, Danny," she said while moving to hug him. "Your obsession isn't fighting ghosts."
He felt ice in his veins. He knew where it was going, and he didn't like it in the slightest. She move away a bit and took his hands without flinching at their temperature. Looking into his icy-blue eyes, she dropped a bomb that made him freeze.
"Your obsession is ice."
