Is Aiden bisexual? No hate or problems with that I’m a lesbian myself but just curious I’ve seen him in a few gay roles and he seems slightly fem so just wondering
While he has never said "I'm straight", I'm pretty sure he's just straight.
He's played many gay characters. I was waiting for him to be harassed for playing gay characters while being straight and while he hasn't been harassed yet that I know of, he has recently been asked about what he thinks about being a straight man playing gay characters.
This was his answer one of the times:
"It just depends – if there are people from a certain bracket of society who never get to play themselves then that is an issue. Then you had the debate about whether Hellen Mirren, a non-Jewish person, should have played the former Israeli prime minister, Golda Meir. If you got into all of that, actors would be quite limited in what they can do – and you shouldn’t be limited by your religious background or your ethnicity or your sexual preference.”
If he were bisexual, I'd think he'd stand up for himself and say, "I'm not a straight actor playing a queer character."
Several people over the years have wondered if Aidan was bisexual because he's played so many gay characters, but I'm 100% positive, in my own opinion, that he's straight.
And here's why:
He's never been linked to a man romantically. He's never said he's interested in men. (But he is an open ally to the LGBTQIA+ community. His trans son is a part of that community.) Also, if you watch his kiss scenes with women vs. men, it's beyond obvious to me that his kisses with men are very mechanical. Nowhere near as sensual as when he kisses women. To be honest, anon, his kisses with men are awful lol If I had to judge his kissing ability based solely on his kisses with men, I would think he was a shitty kisser. I really would. A lot of people think his scenes in Queer As Folk are hot, but they're so not. And it's not because he's kissing and having sex with men, it's because he looks really fucking bad at it. Maybe the people who think it looks good don't have much sexual experience? I dunno but it looks like shit.
Also, any time he's ever mentioned boyhood crushes, or being a horny teenager, he only talks about pining after women.
Because of his roles, and because yes, he is a bit effeminate, many people have asked the same question.
I'm pretty sure he's just an old, straight white man. But a pretty damn cool one.
#seriously he and i would make a great couple#hes a fem straight boy and im a masculine straight girl#people always think im a lesbian when they first see me#cant judge a book by its cover#not all stereotypes are accurate

im swinging at the hornet's nest tonight, chat.
i got beef with "popular" fanon LanceTris and SPECIFICALLY people in the fanbase with how they treat Tristan
im just gonna smack down the rant i went on in a discord so. between you and god if you hit that read more
Taken straight from Discord:
"i need to do more. GwenTris. Lance has my brain so I keep doing GwenLance. I. should do more LanceTris too because im sick to death of the way the fanbase is doign it by making Tristan so fuckin like GGGHHH
I KNOW CANON MAKES HIM SUCH A FUCKIN TWINK BUT FANBASE MAKES HIM FEMBOY OR JUST STRAIGHT FEM AND IM VIOLENT
thats my funky lil sweetie baby boy
hes just GHHHH hes coming into his own, hes a TEENAGER hes UNDERSTANDING WHAT IT MEANS TO BE A PERSON STILL
AAAAAAA
i think he needs just. the teeniest bit more of him being capable of biting back, yknow?
like everyone makes him to be a pushover HES NOT
he can has and WILL THROW HANDS
he outgrew that fear. hes not AFRAID TO DO IT. he KNOWS HE CAN FUCK A BITCH UP IF HE WANTS
people forget he's a FOIL to LANCELOT
theyre STUPIDLY SIMILAR. ITS SUPPOSED TO BE LIKE THAT
DIFFERENT HARDWARE, SAME SOFTWARE
people forgetting why "Rivals to Lovers" and "Rivals/Lovers" are interesting in the first place drive me INSANE
THIS IS WHY I COULDNT STAND YUGIOH SHIPS (Skipping that bit)
all my issues with YGO rival ships are the exact same as what i have with fanon LanceTris
and a little bit with canon Lancetris
urgh i HATE the people who just MAKE TRISTAN HIGH FEMME AND THEN YOU GET THIS FUCKIN URGH GIRL TRISTAN THATS A WHOLE OTHER THING AND PEOPLE KEEP PUTTING IT AS THE SAME. IF YOU WANT FEM TRIS MAKE FEM TRIS LEAVE MY BOY ALONE
they just need to LEAVE MY BOYS BE TRISTAN IS VICTORIAN AGE MASCULINE AND ILL FIGHT FOR THAT
Lance and Tristan are Battle Couple and Rivals like????? theyre supposed to have each other's back, theyre supposed to Fight to Flirt, theyre both flustered by the fact they think the other is cool
theyre AWKWARD and silly about it and too in their own heads to be straightforward about ANYTHING but they still UNDERSTAND EACH OTHER"
anyways yeah im swinging at the hornet's nest, i know this series is so fuckin hit and miss with staying in character and so many of them just. don't have much going on aside from plot device power but FUCK DUDE at least TRY to give Tristan more than just "Love Interest" for a personality
AND STOP SUPER FEMINIZING HIM, YA'LL ARE AS BAD AS ANAKABA WITH YOUR WEIRD FUCKIN FETISHES
#fandom critical#4kota#specifically talking about how the fandom treats Tristan#it is kinda disjointed but im also just huffed up#ive been thinking this for MONTHS#also yes i am shit talking

TWST GENDER AND SEXUALITY HCS
thanks again for submitting stuff on twitter! i tried to include everyones hcs somehow but also keep it true to my own hcs. again this took forever so sorry for any writing/grammar inconsistencies
⚠️ warnings: i typed the word "transmascpilled" with a straight face, light chapter 3 spoilers!!
last updated: oct 6, 2023
HEARTSLABYUL 🥀
Riddle: Unlabled Questioning Asexual, Transfem (she/any)
because of her parents i think her identity was the last thing on her mind
after going to nrc they found out about... expression?! crazy i know
started to cautiously experiment with his identity, but isnt very open about it and is still figuring himself out.
Ace: Cupioromantic Bisexual, Cisgender (he/him)
is always getting "crushes" on people (he cant tell the difference between platonic and romantic love)
after pining for someone for like a week he gets a little "OHHH" moment
asked cater about it, got laughed at, and was directed to the lgbt wiki
despite this he can feel romantic attraction! he just feels very little. is deuce's qpp/possible romantic partner
Deuce: Pansexual, Gender curious (he/him)
hasnt really thought about his identity much but after some research (an Am I Gay Quiz) he realized he was pansexual
still figuring out his gender
type of fellow to say "HIS PRONOUNS ARE THEY THEM" /j
Cater: Queer, Transmasc NB Genderqueer (he/they/any)
@/heartslabyulian on twt explained it better than me but the resistance against his mom and sisters about "being like them" (feminine) is so transmascpilled
also i think theyre just having fun expressing themself like who cares? wear a skirt, dont bind, grow out and dye your hair, use fem terms, literally just go crazy
Trey: Cisgender Bisexual (he/him)
male/nb preference
pretty confident in his identity but isnt opposed to experimentation
SAVANACLAW 🥩
Leona: Unlabled, Intersex GNC Transfemneu (she/him)
lions are one of natures queerest animals
i think he wouldnt care too much about gender presentation
i was inspired by that gay lion in kenya (as well as the real lion king) and have come to the conclusion that leona kingscholar is bisexual (bangs gavel)
Ruggie: Pansexual, Agender/GNC Transfem (he/she/they)
read a fanfiction where ruggie used she/her and i havent been the same
expresses herself how she wants but doesnt really align with any gender
im conflicted if he would be agender or nonbinary SIGH
Jack: Panromantic Asexual, Gender curious (he/him)
still figuring out his gender just give him a minute
sex repulsed ace, hes really uncomfortable w the topic and thought of sex
all he knows is he likes boys alright
OCTAVINELLE 🐚
Azul: Bisexual, Intersex Transfem (she/he)
i think one of the reasons azul wanted us to get that picture from the museum so bad is not only cos hes self consious of his younger self but because he looked "more masculine" and he just really hated it
me when im in a depressed and self conscious competition and my opponent is azul ashengrotto [insert enel one piece shocked face reaction image]
Floyd: Unlabled, Genderfluid (he/any)
doesnt care for labels he just wants to have fun in the sun!!!
type of guy to go "im a boy but a girl but a Man but a pretty princess but also a mud eating warrior but also--"
just like me fr
Jade: Aromantic Asexual, Agender (they/he)
fucking battery
look i get its probably stereotypical to hc the typically "stoic" guy to be triple A but just hear me out: i dont care (also jade isnt even stoic he is such a silly guy!!)
its MY headcanon account and EYE get to choose which anime boy i project on
SCARABIA 🌞
Kalim: Lesbian, Transfem Genderfluid (she/he)
she has lesbian eyebrows okay?
always sliding around from fem to masc, his outfits often reflect how hes feeling
blink and she switches from ultra pink miniskirt sparkly frilly femme girly teengirl into a baggy pants oversized band shirt beanie wearing 7/11 mountain dew big gulp drinking Creature. seriously iconic
Jamil: Bisexual, Nonbinary (they/he)
they dont have time to worry about their identity
he has BILLS to PAY
but seriously they never got the time to do any self reflection when they were younger and after their OB they were able to fully come to terms with and explore their identity
POMEFIORE 👑
Vil: Queer Polyamorous, Genderqueer Transfem (she/her)
said this already on twitter but she/her vil is so real
figured herself out even before NRC
i dont have much to say about pomefiore as a whole tbh like theyre just Gay it just makes sense?
Rook: Pansexual Polyamorous, Agender (they/them)
this is the one hc i will never ever budge on
i cant explain myself. rook is just agender okay.
the panpoly bit is because he sees beauty in everyone and wants to share beauty with everyone (and he wants potential romantic partners to share beauty with each other as well)
Epel: Gay, Trans man (he/him)
also took an Am I Gay Quiz
asked vil about her identity and for advice on finding himself and stuff
he came out to leona as trans during practice and leona was like "okay? me too? now do 30 pull ups?" and epel was so happy
IGNIHYDE 💀
Idia: Bisexual, Nonbinary (he/they/xe/it ++)
i think lilia canonically uses he/they pronouns for gloomurai. im not fact checking this i will just saw someone on twt say it once and choose to believe
probably found out he was bi after playing an otome game
list of neos: xe/it/exe/cy/vi/byte/if/gore
Ortho: Experimenting (he/it/neos)
someone on twitter said ortho was that ""cringe"" baby queer who is constantly changing his identity and trying out different pronouns
and it reminded me of myself when i was 12 and named myself ""moth"" 😭 so its canon now
idia is supportive and uses his heaps of money to buy new pride flags/pins for whenever ortho comes to a new conclusion
DIASOMNIA 🐉
Malleus: Pansexual, Agender (any pronouns)
doesnt care about gender constructs, but in a way thats like "human gender doesnt make any sense so you can perceive me any way you want and it literally will not matter i dont care"
didnt even realize that going by different pronouns and wearing fem clothes was considered to be out of the norm until being introduced to human society
Lilia: Unlabeled, Agender (no pronouns)
again for fae gender isnt a construct as much as it is for human societies
id imagine lilia doesnt really mind using he/him pronouns after learning about those constructs but really doesnt care for them
Silver: Lesbian, Nonbinary (he/him)
when lilia took silver in, lilia didnt want to get too close to him, so lilia just used he/him on silver as a bitter reminder that silver isnt fae (contrary to raising silver without pronouns like he would typically for a fae child like malleus)
but then lilia got attached anyway LOL but the he/him stuck
kalim and silver are nonbinary lesbians in love
Sebek: Questioning, Questioning Nonbinary (he/him...?)
hes like "STUPID HUMANS AND THEIR GENDER" but at the same time is secretly questioning if its okay to use she/her pronouns, wear a wig, and put on makeup
because his dad is a human he got pronouns and grasped the concept of human gender constructs but was also able to experience his moms side of not caring about it

@letters-to-lgbt-kids' 22 Questions for Nonbinary November!
1.Which labels do you use? Transmasculine, nonbinary, genderqueer, nonbinary trans guy, transmasc. (only counting gender labels)
2.What are your pronouns? he/they! No preference.
3.How old were you when you came out to yourself as nonbinary? Uh... idk exactly but it was like a year ago? ish? depends on whether you count the other 3 times i came out to myself lmao.
4.What’s one thing you’d like to tell your younger self? "hey there's actually a Reason you hate being called pretty and avoid mirrors like the plague and really want a flat chest. Wild, right"
5.Is there a myth about nonbinary people that annoys you the most? that we're all unaligned and want to be androgynous. I DO want to be andro, in the sense of being fem and masc at the same time, but others don't. Also, i'm masc-alligned.
6.Is there a nonbinary celebrity you look up to? This might be cheap lol but Demi Lovato, i like their music, so... yeah.
7.If you’re out, how did you come out? I am not ~technically~ out. But my friend knows; i was like "hey i think im transmasc" and she said "ok cool". but i came out to my family and it was. interesting lmao
8.Is there a gender-related pun you like? non-beenary. Also: trans people should handle the money because everything we do is a transaction im so sorry
9.Do you have friends who identify as nonbinary, too? friend-ish people, yeah. Also i have a friend who jokes she's "{name}gender" and says he is ok with literally any pronouns so... we may have an egg here.
10.Do you have a favorite lgbt+ character? Hmmmm Nico Di Angelo is my namesake but i honestly can't pick lmao.
11. Lgbt, lgbt+, lgbtqa+… which one do you usually use? Queer. I have a long, long post explaining why, but i hate being called LGBT unless you also call me queer lmao
12. How do you explain the term “nonbinary” to people who have no idea what it means? "i do not vibe with gender". or, "boy is here, girl is here, no gender is here, and i am here" *points between boy and no gender*. they usually get it
13.Tell us a fun fact about yourself (gender-related or random!) i am absolutely obsessed with books and if you want a book of any genre or type or trope just ask me via asks or anon and i will throw ALL THE RECS at u
14.How did you find your name? I stole it from Nico Di Angelo <3
15.If you’re in a relationship, how did your partner react to your coming-out? I'm a single pringle who doesn't wanna mingle lol, but my FRIENDS were all pretty good (except one. she's a transphobic asshole and i kinda hate her now)
16.Do you prefer partner, datemate, significant other or something else? i mean i've never dated and don't really wanna but my theoretical partner would call me boyfriend or partner in crime. the "in crime" would not be optional and i would not date someone who would object to it
17.A piece of advice for questioning kids? don't treat labels like they own you. E.g. if you ID as straight then really wanna date a boy/girl/ur gender, don't jump thru hoops explaining away that emotion--just use bi or pan or something else that fits. Also, it's ok to change labels!! i did like 20 times before i settled on my labels i've been using for about 8 months now!!
18.Which flag(s) do you use? nonbinary, genderqueer, aroace, bi, trans, transmasculine, asexual, aromantic. Look em up urself, tumblr won't let me post the images
19.Any tips for bad days? read a book. write a story. draw a picture. it doesn't have to be good, just do it. it helps
20.Do you have a favorite nonbinary blog on tumblr? i like @neopronounsmybelovaed, @lgb-positivi-t (not NB specific tho), and @letters-to-lgbt-kids (also not nonbinary specific tho). idk i havent seen a lot of NB blogs--reccomendations are appreciated!
21.Feminine, masculine, androgynous - or none of those things? i would like to be all of them at once but also femme but also manly masc boy but also 'my gender is gay and my sexuality is nonbinary' but also do not percieve me but ALSO-- (u get the idea)
22. What are your three favorite things about yourself? ah fuck uh. i like my writing. I like my ability to usually find good friends. i like how i will literally consume All The Information related to the things i like (in other words, talk to me about the raven cycle or writing pls).

ok so thiz iz a very good point that id like 2 talk abt rn so THANK U for bringing thiz up actually <3 and dw youre alright !! thiz iznt wrong or anything itz just pointing out something i missed.
smthn i see often iz people gendering them based off what pronounz the creatorz use . sure yeah ok ill give you that, alan doez say he/him in avg for the stickz, HOWEVER comma i was mainly talking abt the main seriez and minecraft shortz since thatz usually what people will be watching for content on Just the stickz
HOWEVER ID ALSO LIKE TO SAY youre right! people who HAVE seen it may use he/him since thatz what alan usez! i am not saying thiz iz wrong in any way, but also people have to remember that pronounz do NOT equal gender! i personally may use they/them for the stickz while seeing them az nonbinary, but nonbinary individualz are not stuck with ONLY they/them! they can use neoz, she, he, it, or anything else they use, including no pronounz at all! [and other languagez pronounz! i only speak english so i cannot speak on thiz part myself but from what i know many languagez have more than just two setz of pronounz, or even just one or none!]
so the point of my post waznt that people CANT use he/him or she/her for the stickz, itz that i personally am just annoyed with the need to GENDER them. a lot of the timez when i see ppl present the characterz az femininely or use fem/masc pronounz, itz grouped in with their GENDER, which iz not explicitly stated !
now im not saying you CANT hc them az different genderz! theyre just stick figurez, itz not a big deal. i just personally find it annoying when people, esp cis people [though absolutely no hate to you, i promise, youre Fine] insist on the same concept. ive seen a lot of ppl portray purple az a girl and overly feminine, and usually theze people ship them with mango and portay HIM az overly masculine. ive seen ppl portray either blue or yellow az a girl and then ship them with the other, still a boy in their characterization. but never both at the same time.
and with purple i have a sneaking suspicion that itz because of their COLOR. purple az a color iz often associated with feminine traitz and or girlz. i garentee you if there waz a pink stick figure theyd get the same exact overlyfeminine treatment by the fandom.
so the point of the post waznt to say you CANT, itz just that i personally find issue with the pointless gendering, usually to make some kinda of straight passing pairing.
id love to see more fem headcanonz! just. not with the same overused onez with no point but to ship them with someone.
tldr; az a tranz person i really hate the pointless gendering of the stickz, esp since pronounz =/= gender. however i understand that itz inevitable that people will do it, esp since alan usez he/him for the stickz, and itz not a big deal to me. i just personally dislike when people do it in unnecessary wayz for stereotyping based off colorz or for shipping.
AGAIN. I REITERATE. THIZ IZ NOT ME SAYING PEOPLE CANNOT DO THEZE THINGZ. ITZ JUST ME PERSONALLY NOT LIKING IT.
#long post#thiz got unnecessarily long on accident whoopz my bad#i hope thiz makez sense though on my view on thiz topic. thiz also appliez to general canon nonbinary/genderless characterz in other media#since usually ppl use similar reasoning or such to gender them#so#kitkat chitchat

Ugh when she says "Im still a lesbian cuz I'm a 5/6 gay" then you're not a lesbian... Like if you can be married to a man then you aren't! And "if you think boys can be feminine and girls can be masculine gender doesn't exist" you can he as masc or fem as you want but if you're dating a man, no matter how feminine he is, you ain't a lesbian
this made me realise that by her standards im probs in a hetero relationship or smth if she thinks her relationship isn’t straight since she wears suits & her husband wears dresses lmaooo 😭😭 these peoples’ standards are so backwards honestly.

Hi, this isn't a request, but how do you deal with Gender Dysphoria? Like, the really bad kind
not many of the other mods felt comfortable answering this, sorry, and i dont experience physical gender dysphoria - BUT i got in a person to offer you some advice, i hope this helps!♡
for physical dysphoria:
well, depends on what you mean by really bad!! if its the kind that makes you feel sick to your stomach and feel terrible when the bits that “label” you femme/masc looking- but can be fixed with an aesthetic change- I usually dress as much as the look i’m going for. androgyne, masculine, feminine. when going masculine i wear masculine t-shirts, a size or two too big so it is slightly baggy, masks the bumps and curves, and chuck on a jumper, and baggy, straight cut jeans. greasy hair makes u look surprisingly masculine, i’ve found when looking fem i’d go with probably the opposite? I’m not sure, i don’t usually dress feminine, but when i am feeling fem, i wear skinny jeans, and a basic woman’s section shirt, or singlet
if the Dysphoria is the kind that is even worse, where just knowing that you have bits that don’t match, don’t fit, makes it feel like your skin is crawling and you can’t go out in public, or WORSE, i moreso go with wearing my binder(if mtf if you have inserts in a bra, maybe? or something similar) and i layer up as much as possible whilst still being relatively comfortable. guys shoes, jeans, long-sleeved baggy shirt. etc. if you don’t have access to those, then i’m not sure, other than wearing plain and loose clothes you have access to.
you just have to keep in mind that it’s not permanent, your inability to present how you want. managing as much as you can for as long as you can is my best advice until you can change how you’re seen.
for social dysphoria:
i tend to ridicule society by reminding myself that it is societys bullshit that causes me to feel this way, for other people to view me as fem/masc rather than the gender i identify. its not their fault, its not my fault, its ye olde days and how dresses are for girls and blue is for boys. i tell myself fuck them, fuck what they think, im probably only going to see these random strangers maybe once in my entire life, they dont matter
however, if its close family, and you are out to them, correct them as politely as you can (unless theyre being aggressive/ignorant) and inform them, no, i am [x] gender, dont matter how i dress, i am x gender. they either accept it, question it, or reject it. and frankly, please dont let the ignorant assholes remain in your life, theyre poisonous.
a person calls you she/her when you go by he/him, and you want to correct them, then do it. tell them. its not their fault; they were raised to believe x means y, but z is completely ridiculous. its not their fault thats how they were trained and ‘brainwashed’ by society..
bc thats it; your main aggressors are societal perspectives. its not the people themselves, its how they were raised/taught to think by society.
functionalist perspective: everything is interconnected to make society balanced and work better. “clothes are designed specifically for genders” “colours are assigned to genders” “women must work in hospitality/with children because they are nurturing” - aka, stereotypes are in place to make things “work better”
According to functionalism, society is a system of interconnected parts that work together in harmony to maintain a state of balance and social equilibrium for the whole.
conflict perspective: everyone is split into different groups (such as race/gender/orientation) to fight for power/control/resources “men are superior to women” “nonbinary people are snowflakes” “PoC arent as important as white people” - aka some groups of people are put down to make other people more important/keep them in power
The conflict perspective views society as composed of different groups and interest competing for power and resources. The conflict perspective explains various aspects of our social world by looking at which groups have power and benefit from a particular social arrangement.
symbolic interactionist perspective: x means y, therefore i can assume things from behaviour/appearance/opinion/etc “dresses mean girl” “being emotional is feminine” “strength is masculine” (this is all bullshit) - aka stereotypes are in place so we can make assumptions without actually asking the person
Symbolic interactionism also suggests that our identity or sense of self is shaped by social interaction. We develop our self-concept by observing how others interact with us and label us. By observing how others view us, we see a reflection ourselves that Cooley calls the “looking glass self.”
hope this helped ♡

for your consideration this pride month:
A non-binary, bisexuals probably homophobic opinions on gender and sexuality
for starters, i’d like to say this is just my personal opinion and i don’t expect anyone to actually read this other than maybe one friend i have on tumblr and people i specifically send it to, but in the event that this blows up because ya know, it’s the internet: I’m not trying to invalidate anyone’s gender expression, sexuality, person opinions, labels, or thoughts on the community. this is just how i personally view everything concerning LGBT from my lived experiences.
to begin, i think that there are two main opinions from people in and outside the community over the number of labels we use and they generally fall into these categories either: “we have too many, these fucking snowflakes” and “i don’t really care, you do you” there are very, very few actually “”snowflakes”” that use the terminology we’ve all seen and had opinions about. therefore, why is it still in use? why do they have their own pride days in the month? well, from what i can see, my best guess is the definitions of everything are very muddled and the minute differences are expanded upon in ways that simply do not make sense to me.
for example, the sheer number of words we have for an attraction to multiple genders, while they all have their own differences, why can there not just be an umbrella term and people describe their individual sexual desires to the people they need to define it to. just to make my case here’s the words i’ve found:
bisexual
pansexual
omnisexual
polysexual
queer
all of these words have a basic meaning of attraction to more than one gender that it is inconceivable to me why we need all of them. if there’s discourse around how bisexual doesn’t just mean two, then why does poly exist? and if there’s discussion about bisexuals not always have a gender preference then why do pan and omni have distinctions? to me personally, in a perfect world, we need zero labels, but how we live today, we need the labels. if straights and gays aren’t equal and we take away the distinctions, they’ll never be equal. but stemming from that, i have qualms with words like this that feel like preferences over an actual distinction in sexuality. because the argument from the community (which i 100% agree with) is that you don’t Choose sexuality, things that feel like Choosing demean the entire system. things like bi where you see gender feel to me like “when looking for a partner, i Choose based on gender” definitionally and maybe that’s a misinterpretation of the word choice because in dating and sex everyone has to experience choice, that’s consent, but really you fall in and out of want instead of saying “i’m looking for a 5’4 blonde girl that has freckles” because as much as you can have a wish list it will never be fulfilled in the way you intend because people don’t bend to specifications. and maybe that thought process of not looking for a gender or a set of attributes makes me pan, but that’s not how i identify, so this is where we get to the point. if people don’t identify with the words that most describe how they actually feel because there’s another word that explains them, why do the words exist in the first place!
this is why it took me 4 years to actually come to the conclusion that i was bi. 1. because of the sheer number of words to describe how i was feeling but 2. if bisexuals can have any split between male and female attraction (doesn’t have to just be male and female but for examples sake) if i am not split 50/50 that would fall into the realm of poly and omni. and 3. girls are cute but are girls like date cute or are girls just like delicate cute (but that’s beside the point)
now i think i continue to beat a dead horse if i go into discussions about asexuality and all of its subgroups 1. because i’ve proven my point with multiple gendered love and 2. that’s not my community i would get something wrong and that’s not my intention. but GENDER!! FUN!!
so anyway that i go into this is going to sound offensive and it will get kind of rude but it’s out of pure inability to comprehend most of this. if someone wants to educate me, go right ahead.
NO ONE UNDERSTANDS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN GENDER IDENTITY AND GENDER EXPRESSION
gender identity is the gender you feel. the sex. male, female, non-binary.
gender Expression is how you interpret that label. things like demi girl and gender fluid feel in this category to me because you Cannot in any case change gender day to day. period.
you are allowed to dress more masculine and feel more comfortable masculine one day and feel more comfortable feminine another. that’s not your gender changing!!!!! that’s just PREFERENCES!!!!!!! that’s Choice!!!!!!
what i’ve always understood in my heart the way to tell if you’re feeling a shift in expression or in identity is these 3 categories: perception, privates, personality. the three Ps (i did just come up with this)
are you worried or uncomfortable with someone using a certain name or set of language that hints to gender (such as queen v king) [the pronoun discussion is for later i don’t find it appropriate to include it here] this is perception
do you dislike something being a part of your body, not because you find it ugly, uncomfortable, or unnecessary but because you Want the Parts of Another Sex. for example there’s a difference in “oh i wish i didn’t have a uterus because i hate periods” and “i wish i didn’t have a uterus because the thought of that being a part of my body makes me feel sick because i want *male anatomy*” that is privates
and finally, personality. just because you’re a tomboy doesnt make you trans. just because you like dresses or skirts as a boy, doesn’t make you trans. everyone’s personality and individualism is what makes this difficult. you’re allowed to have interests that are “of the opposite gender” that don’t make you trans.
and something that i feel is an important distinction and will lead us into the pronouns portion, and this sounds rude but it’s not, it’s the truth. there are a lot more people that claim ftm than mtf. there just simply are, and the problem with that arises with a lot of women are upset about the condition of being a woman in today’s society, with all the pressures, expectations, lack of rights, etc etc that they would rather be perceived as a man. they would rather be a man to avoid the constant taunting of women and as much as that’s relatable, being fed up with the human condition of womanhood DOES NOT MAKE YOU TRANS. all of the “she/they non-binaries” that arise today that have no problems with being identified as a woman in public, that have no want to change their physical bodies because they want the ones of the opposite sex, and act Like A Woman *are not really trans* because that demeans every aspect of what it Actually means to be trans and honestly it’s kind of insulting to be someone that experiences extreme gender dysphoria to just see people with the desire to be less of a woman out of, here’s this again, Choice, when really they’re mad about society. and oh boy is it completely valid to be mad about the conditions of women, and it is valid to identify as she/they or he/they. it’s just, the distinction between people that actually experience gender dysphoria and the ones that don’t like the way that boobs make the world interact with them.
ALSO WHAT THE FUCK ARE NEOPRONOUNS????? i don’t get it. i’ve never understood it and i don’t think i ever will but like, bold claim, furries and otherkins aren’t Part of the lgbt community???? and i might be mislead on what neopronouns actually are but the only time i’ve seen them actually used are in cases with otherkins and the like wanting to be referred to as pronouns that correspond with their *preferred species* which is a whole other can of snowflake worms that i don’t have time to get into today but like,,,in my humble opinion, i feel as tho he she and they kinda cover the spectrum. you’re fem identifying, she/her. boom, solved. ur masc identifying he/him. lovely, awesome. you feel in between, they/them. great. excellent. you have kinship with both femininity and androgyny she/they (or vice versa he/they) but like IM NOT CALLING SOMEONE LIKE “”BUNSELF”” CAUSE YOURE A BUNNY. THATS NOT HOW LANGUAGE WORKS???? this is only a phenomenon of the english language because most latin languages DONT EVEN HAVE A THEY/THEM FOR EVERYDAY CONVERSATIONS. and we have the AUDACITY to come up with this stuff???? i don’t- i don’t get it. like i speak spanish (i’m not a native, i’m still learning so don’t roast me if i say something incorrect) and it’s nearly impossible to find a way to refer to yourself as a they/them because the words simply don’t exist. i’m lucky enough to be okay with he/him pronouns but in languages and cultures were every single thing you interact with is labeled with a gender there’s simply no time to come up with and incorporate things like Neopronouns when we can’t even find a way to express the basics in another language... and the whole point of the LGBT community is to be inclusive to everyone no matter their sexuality, gender, race, ethnic background etc etc but this is something that quite blatantly leaves out most of the World.
anyway, these are some of my opinions. feel free to ask questions and ignore typos. once again i’m open to education, but this has been my ted talk.
