@herohair I'm not sure if this is a reply to my post, but if it is I would just like to clarify. I don't agree with what Jeremy did. Mocking a f/f ship, even one that is not canon, is a demeaning thing to do.  Although casts do mock noncanon m/f pairings, these pairings almost always end up being catered to (example: Klaroline), and therein lies the difference. So yeah, I won't deny that homophobia played a factor in this.

 That being said, I don't believe Jeremy or Melissa are inherently homophobic. I think they both have heteronormative views on the world because they are straight. However, I also think both of them want to be supportive allies, which is why I made my post. I think they have to be educated. They need to listen to their LGBT fanbase, but no one wants to listen to those spewing hateful things. Hateful comments aren't going to make a positive impact on anyone.

I have seen some very informative and helpful posts on this, don't get me wrong. Posts that are critical but explain why what they did was inappropriate are very appreciated. Unfortunately, I've also seen a lot of people posting things that are just plain awful. When I wrote my post, those were the people I was referring to. (If I'm not the "Jeremy fangirl" you were referring to then this is embarrassing lol...) That's just my personal opinion. You're entitled to yours.

Sorry it took me so long to reply to this. I was at work when you first replied to my post and I didn’t have time during my lunch break to accurately respond to it. First off, it your post actually wasn’t the one I was talking about lol. The post I was talking about was made by a blogger with some sort of K*ramel URL and based on the wording of her post, it seemed very likely that she was straight. Unless the post is overly offensive, I don’t normally go off like that on a post made by another LGBT+ person on subjects like this because they have a right to their opinion on it, even if I might not agree with them. 

I don’t think what Jeremy did was purposefully homophobic but I do think it’s possible to have internalized homophobia and to be homophobic without realizing it, which I think played a big part in what happened. And as a lesbian, i’m just tired of straight people having this view on f/f or m/m relationships that they’re some sort of unreachable abnormality instead of just a ordinary relationships that m/f ships are allowed to be seen as. 

I also don’t think it’s the job of LGBT+ women to educate a grown man (or a grown woman in Melissa’s case) on what is or isn’t homophobic. It’s something that he should try to educate himself on. And people are allowed to not like him or be angry at him over this. (The death threats are taking it too far though, I will agree with that). I haven’t read his second apology so maybe i’ll change my opinion on him a little if I read it, but as of right now, i’m not a fan. 

But yeah, my initial post wasn’t about you! I hope you know that I don’t have any beef with you, even if we might have some opposing views on this :)

Work in Progress Wednesday!

It’s my first WIP Wednesday post!

In honor of Good Omens Season 2 - I know, we are all trauma bonding together and I love it - I want to share my second (!) foray into cosplaying from this series. My first foray will come tomorrow, but for now - someone who didn’t so much as fall as saunter vaguely downwards.

Note: This is not the wig I will use; this is my glorious HeroHair (http://www.HeroHair.con) custom Tenth Doctor wig with a red filter purely to test makeup and contacts.

And the progress on the S2 leather waistcoat and Henley. As much as I’d love to rock that turtleneck 🥵 I do not have a long enough neck to pull it off.

Waistcoat is made by me from garment grade cowhide and cotton sateen.
