Etrian Odyssey Homebrew?
I wonder how possible/doable it would be to translate Etrian Odyssey stuff to dnd? Because I kind of want to figure it out.
I think most of the classes would be fairly easy to map to already existing classes (Landsknecht = Fighter, Protector = Paladin, Survivalist = Ranger), but there are some more out-there ones that would need some work, like the War Magus and Hexer. And some that are technically races by shown more as classes so I would probably change those to races.
And the various in-game races would be run to make usable as, you know, actual playable races! (And not just the ones you actually get to play as in EO5.)
Not to mention the spells/abilites that are “class” specific and the many cool monsters...
So, uh, to my fellow EO players who also play dnd, got any suggestions for how to map them to a potential Homebrew to play?

Since Etrian Odyssey Collections have been out for a while, where new and old fans have finally been able to try their hands at the three classics, I'm curious to know if anyone's favourite game have changed. The last time I did this poll, Untold2 was the winner. Let's see who the winner of this poll will be~

I think one of the best things about the Emerald Grove is the sheer variety of FOEs.
There’s the Ragelopes, of course. Such a classic that Heroes of Lagaard let them rule over an entire floor. (The Fafnir Knight didn’t, because it embraced the dinosaurs.)
And then, depending on the version you play, there’s either Kuyutha, which is a more aggressive Ragelope, or the Boulder Boar, an ambush predator that is technically visible in the overworld, but will mostly just make you paranoid about rocks.
On the third floor, you meet The Shadow That Reaps Everything, who cannot keep a consistent English name between titles. It’s been named a lot of things, from Stalker to Indignant Mantis.
And once you’ve passed a floor of those, you meet the wolves. Of which there are two kinds.
I’m not sure any other Stratum in the series quite meets the biodiversity of the Emerald Grove, FOE-wise. The Ancient Forest might try, though. It depends on how you count things that are related to bosses.

#365DaysOfVGM Day 38:
Labyrinth I ~ Primitive Jungle [Dungeon: 1F-5F] (Etrian Odyssey II: Heroes of Lagaard, including the FM, Piano, and Untold versions [2008/2014])
It expresses risk, beauty, and melancholy, kinda hard to describe.
Thanks to TheLinkToThePast (Discord) for introducing me to the music of this series! It’s yet another worthy highlight of the DS in the music department, with its full-fledged use of FM Synth
(Length before loop [All]: Nearly 3 minutes)

I’ll never get over how gorgeous and just genuinely fun to get lost in the dungeons of the Etrian Odyssey series have been.
I adore the use of flower imagery in a diverse range of environments; even barren wastelands have some signs of plantlife, even if it’s dead plantlife, and environments totally inhospitable to plantlife have some kind of pseudoflora, and I love how subtle difference in those environmental details were actually used to mark things like secret passages.  And o, the attention to light, peaking thru canopies and water and glass and cracks in the wall... and how everything just glows~!
I love how the first three vertical labyrinths all had their own internal themes of progression: climates getting warmer as you go deeper, until you reach the warm beating heart of the labyrinth; seasons passing, the dungeon dying and being reborn from winter to spring, as you climb higher until you breach the changeless, Eden-like Forbidden Wood, atop a flying castle (playing with themes taken from Daoist, Wuxing/”5 phases” theory); and descending thru the water’s depths, ocean floor, thermal vents, and ancient sunken abyss...  It all gives a sense of distinct escalation --of impending doom, like a teetering tower, growing unsteadier still with every move toward progress.
And although it’s a bigger subject all its own, I’ll never get over how well thought out and just meticulously placed all the enemies are in their habitats and the clever details of how they interact with their environment and their cohabitants; from tree monsters throwing acorn monsters, to monsters eating one another for health, to FOE with unique movement styles like flying or swimming across gaps impassable by the player.  It’s not just good game-logic, it’s good world building and reinforcement.  It’s not about piling on history or exposition, but in reinforcing the structural integrity of the world-- everywhere you look the world adhere’s to its own logic, and it is sturdy!  It’s exactly the kind of world that you can get happily lost in.

Seriously, the history of the new Alchemist portrait is really interesting.
At first glance, she very clearly takes after one of the Hero portraits from Nexus, just with her hair grown out a bit. For once, it’s incredibly unlikely to be the same character, though, as this is earlier in the timeline, and the Alchemist is roughly the same size as everyone else, while the Hero she takes after is Very Smol.
She also seems to have stolen part of her color scheme from one of the Schoolgirl DLCs, but that’s a bit less relevant.
But this gets really interesting when you look at potential origins of the Hero portrait. See, that sort of hat and hairstyle has appeared in the series before. As concept art for EO2U for a potential reappearance of Frederica. (Whose pigtails in The Millennium Girl match those of the Hero pretty closely)
Some of the potential implications this has for the Alchemist:
The Smol Heroine is actually an adult who got shrunk sometime between High Lagaard and Nexus.
After Nexus, the Smol Heroine trips and falls through a time portal back to Etria.
The Alchemist is the Smol Heroine’s aunt or something. (Most reasonable answer)
In this universe, Ricky gets decanted and promptly decides that she’d rather learn alchemy than attempt to reinvent munitions.
