The more I tell people about Hana the more people ask me if she is autistic. I always knew she was autistim-coded but upon looking closely? Hana's whole thing with premonitions the stars, and being a "zodiac" could very much be a product of rigid thinking, hyperfixations, and how she masks to fit in with others in her niche.

She "says the wrong things" and is disliked for how blunt she is, how picky she is with food, how inflexible she seems. In chapters where she gets stressed, she will have paragraphs where she thinks and thinks but she does not say anything. And when someone asks why she is not talking Alope remarks "Hana doesn't answer sometimes". When she was younger she had "tantrums", her parents did not take them seriously and babied her. Hana only starts the story bc she doesn't want to be coddled anymore she wants to be taken seriously... but she tends to mask real parts of herself to do so...

I really like this comic bc even tho its Hana and Alope being cute, it also shows Hana's fatal flaw.

The whole time Hana won't stop talking about fanged fish... even tho she is on a "date". Even tho she and Alope are level 35+ in the first stratum. More than enough to even solo everything there. "What if something else pops up that we haven't seen before?"

It's good to be vigilant. But Hana's vigilance is always pulling herself away. Always "what if?" And not making the most of it. Her first instinct is to exclude herself from participating bc she thinks Alope will be safer that way.

This is her biggest problem. She thinks she keeps others safe by being guarded- alone.

And the comic is so nice to me bc... Alope is aware of this and caters to her.

When she taunts Hana it's to get her involved. Hana can't put her finger on why Alope makes her feel comfortable. But it's this little way Alope always brings her into activities.

Alope will always include Hana bc she knows Hana wants her safe. And she wants Hana safe. But not lonely like Hana thinks she has to be to be safe. Alope knows what that is like... so she wants Hana to feel safe with her. :)

Anyway last note: I like how when Hana expresses she's worried she wont be able to protect Alope, Alope gamified it... "who can kill more of the fish" lessening Hana's worry about it happening... Alope's exclusive use of "we" when talking about it so Hana does not feel like she has to deal with the fish alone. THE WINNER GETTING TO PICK DINNER... bc she wants to have dinner with Hana after this. Oh Alope... you will always be famous and romantic.

Hana- A red squirrel. I mean. Look at her!!!

Alope- Big wet dog (vibes) or…. a shrimp bc I can’t fight da facts

Alope is a genus of shrimp. But also there is a breed of dog called Alopekis 😭…

Enid: Stray cat that is evil unless you have food. Enid actually is based off of a cat body language wise

Tank- Donkey bc he’s an ass. (IM NOT SAYING THAT TO BE MEAN it's also bc he is smarter than he looks like a donkey)

Ignis- Bear. I look at him and I think of a brown bear…

Ember- gives pony energy.

Bonus Members:

Magnolia- Hummingbird. Just based on vibes…. Also a group of them is called a charm or a bouquet. 🥺

Izem: His name means lion. I would say lion. But I like to think he has a more active role in his pack. The other big cats are solitary tho and I think that's not who he is.

Patri: Raven… might give him a pet raven that would be cool as hell. I just know he'd talk it up as a raven.

Kise: fox fox fox.... fox zoomies

Smiley: Makes me think of penguins... I like her being a Smilodon too. Smileydon.

Caspian: Polar Bear. Yes because she is tall and white.

I have 4 versions of etrian odyssey 3 now :) EO3DS on my iPad (Addiction)

This time I actually decided to try Ragnarok’s rival guild’s build forrealsies. It’s kinda fun n new for me. The most jarring thing is that I don’t have a Tank. (Like a Hoplite OR Tank, my Arbalist.).

First I’m ever using a farmer in main party. Hebe is actually heavy lifting. She has bandage to keep Dezerte’s HP full so Dezerte can passive heal, and she’s landed sleep a few times with lullaby… She’s gonna get strange seeds so Zero (Zodwa) can use bind cut later too :3 She also tanked the great lynx when I’m p sure Ignis couldn’t at first?

I’m playing eo3 ds… but there’s a lot more this team could do in HD methinks. But I don’t wanna use anymore of my saves on there atm…

It kinda reminds me of my first eo3 party when I was little. Sword gladiator, sov, zodiac is probably what’s doing it for me.

First time w/o a monk and Hana in a main party 😭 I miss her. Will probably add her to the back up characters tho bc I miss her.

”Where’s Caspian?” Omg I did not think you cared that much. She does not join until b7f for. Plot reasons.

“Where’s ryouta?” He does not join until b2f? And he joins randomly. I’m not playing the HD version rn bc I got this just to map on my iPad, so I have a placeholder portrait for him…

This only really leaves Lance now. Out of the main 6... but I'm debating whether he is the mysterious "you" character. I always imagined it as "you" plural but it could be interesting to have Lance drive the story and animate decision boxes.

They have almost reverse arcs and meet each other at the intersection which is why it's so jarring 😭 Mary is becoming scarier and Caspian less scary.

Caspian is vexing and scary in Oracle of Stars you will hate her 😁 vs Mary. You can never hate her but something is happening!!
