The Mount Hermon ski resort (Hebrew: אתר החרמון) is situated on the south-eastern slopes of Mount Hermon, a few kilometers off the Purple line, in the Israeli-occupied Golan Heights, Israel. The site is surrounded by the Hermon nature reserve. While the nature reserve is open year-round, the ski resort is open only at the peak of winter (usually January–March), when enough snow is accumulated on its ground.[2] It has a top elevation of 2,040 metres (6,690 ft), going down to 1600 metres, with an area covering about 2,434 dunams (243.4 hectares).[3]

The first lift was installed in 1971, largely with assistance from the Jewish Agency for Israel, and the resort first opened to skiers in December 1971.

On March 14th, 2011, Palestinian children diagnosed with cancer visited Israel's only ski resort located in Mt. Hermon, northern Israel. The children, accompanied by parents and family, enjoyed the snow and slopes along with IDF soldiers from the Alpine Unit. Their trip to the Hermon was made possible by Civil Administration, the Israeli body responsible for administering and coordinating civilian and humanitarian needs in the West Bank. The children are undergoing treatment at the Augusta Victoria hospital in Jerusalem. The Civil Administration's Health Coordinator, Dalia Bassa and the Commander of the Alpine unit jointly organized the trip. The Alpine Unit is an elite unit of reserve soldiers who undergo intensive training particularly in the Mt. Hermon region. The unit carries out regional defense tactics, shooting while skiing at high speeds, snowmobiling, and riding Sno-Cats

Ownership of the resort is controversial. The resort is operated and held by 32 families of the Israeli settlement of Neve Ativ. The families have no property rights in the land and they have not paid the Israel Land Administration for its use in over a decade.[6]SPNI accused resort operators for charging illegal fees.[7] In 2010 the Movement for Quality Government in Israel appealed to the Supreme Court of Israel against the Israel Land Administration. In the appeal Neve Ativ was accused of holding the area of the resort without any valid contract, violating the public's interest and the Israel Land Administration law.[8]

In 2004 police arrested four senior workers at the resort for allegedly ordering the arson of a competing snow equipment rental business in Majdal Shams.[13] According to allegations the four offered two fellow resort workers a sum of 40 thousand Israeli new shekels each for setting fire to the competing business. Additionally resort workers allegedly harassed visitors who rented equipment from the rival shop.[14]

This was the fourth of seven motels built by the Franklin bros, the others all in Las Vegas: The Franklin (aka Ferguson's), Lucky, Valley, City Center, Golden Inn (demolished), and Orbit Inn (demolished). El Rancho Boulder is the only one consistently open and maintained in its original form.

this overwhelmingly kind ask came in three pieces, and I am posting only the question here, but rest assured that i read and treasured the second part as any author must treasure the high compliment of having ruined someone's life, a little bit, in a fun way. please pay your taxes! i hope you have found the scrunchie.

(3) And for my question: Draco has a pretty significant cognitive dissonance when it comes to Hermione + her muggle parents, and his blood supremacy, that he's only just began to confront. BARELY. Her being the exception to most of his rules in general helps that. How has writing that cognitive dissonance been? Have there ever been points where Draco's thinking made you uncomfortable, or mad? It's easy to be sympathetic to him in this fic but still.

the answer to this is: yes, definitely! or rather, it's the kind of thing that i would find uncomfortable if i weren't making him do it. an author has an almost dictatorial control over her relationship with her characters, so i can't ever really be as angry at my draco as i would be a character in someone else's story, or god forbid a real person, because he is, after all, my draco. it's like riding a roller coaster when you control how fast it goes: i can hit the gas or the brakes, but i can't then be shocked when we accelerate. that being said, draco's thinking about hermione's blood status is the kind of thing that would absolutely rub me the wrong way. from a personal perspective, when they have arguments about it, i'm usually on (or mostly on) hermione's side; i think this is just one of those issues where draco's position is not justifiable on any grounds not related to "i am used to doing this bad thing and many people have done it also." now, there are definitely cases where hermione gets up in his face and says some unkind things about him and his parents. but the imperfection of her communication style doesn't impute the perfection of her argument, which is, essentially: "my parents are human beings of equal value to yours, and you should treat them and me as such." and frankly, draco's so entrenched in this belief system that it's hard to imagine her ever getting through to him unless she's willing to drop the civil guise, from time to time, and get in his face. (major spoilers for book four down below, by the way.)

the cognitive dissonance of draco's position on muggleborns vs. Hermione specifically is embodied by that little word in the middle: versus. hermone is a special case. in any and every context. gradually, we've watched the meaning of that evolve from "special mudblood" to "special Gryffindor" to "special witch" to "special Person," full-stop. as long as hermione is the exception to every rule in draco's life — and it kind of helps that in a lot of ways, she is — he can frame his changing stance not as a fundamental shift in philosophy, but as an acceptable bit of rule-breaking. he thinks he's doing what narcissa suggested he do at the end of book three: just handwave a little bit. it's fine, we're not burning Parliament down, i'm allowed to have this.

but hermione keeps putting pressure on that, because — and i love her for this — she refuses to be that for him. she doesn't want to be his exception. she doesn't want to be his "acceptable bit of rule-breaking". she's not his fucking manic pixie dream mudblood. she wants him to be better, and like her open-eyed and open-armed for what she is. and if he's not going to do that, then he's at least going to know why she's mad at him when he doesn't! so by the end of book four, that crystallizes in the first true breakthrough of the book: hermione tells him, listen, i am a muggle-born and that matters, and i care for you, but if you don't believe me, this is the end of the line for us. and because of various things he's been through, many of them at her side, draco is finally able to make that connection: hermione is special and she's muggle-born, and those two things are allowed to coexist. they have to be, because if they can't, then he isn't allowed to have her. and then, immediately after, we see his resolution in dumbledore's office after viktor's death: it's not a regression to "hermione is special and that's why it's okay to bend rules for her," but a progression to: "hermione is special and so am i, and that's why i can break all the fucking rules i want to, because they can't matter if they get between us." this is not what we would call an extremely healthy world philosophy, but in his defense, he's fifteen and traumatized, and also recently discovered the life-altering properties of Being On The Right Side of an Era-Defining Social Conflict. he's still processing, to say the least.

▪️PROTEST - AGAINST HAREDI DRAFT - demonstration on Highway 4 near Bnei Brak shut down the roadway today.

Someone Edited My Drawing and Sent Me Hate. Hey Sclae and unotuno73. You're not funny. <3

So I got 2 notifications on Pinterest from this Sclae person, one of which they saved one of my created pins. Which was one of my older drawings. An OC named Hermone.

Then, in the second notification, they replied to one of my comments on someone else's post. It was of an OC that looked very similar to mine. So I made a satire joke about how there wasn't any originality left in the world bc nearly all OC's that aren't a creature are similar. ( Like i said, this was satire. But from the look of my replies someone didn't understand that. )

Anyway, this person followed me on Tumblr. Then, they sent me 2 Asks.

This unotuno73 person sent me another 2 Asks. This is 4 Asks in all.

Each one contained a different picture. These pictures were ( I'm assuming ) Hate memes. In each meme, the picture above, my OC- was featured in each of them. I don't know how old these kids are, but judging from the Skibidi Sigma memes that are contained in each photo, they must be pretty young. ( I have a feeling that both accounts might be the same person on some alt acct )

Now this is plain disrespectful to me, my art, and my OC. I don't appreciate this.

Endearing, I must say. But not very original. However, these editing skills are mediocre but have room for improvement.

I don't even know what to do with this. All I know is Lin Manuel Miranda did not deserve to be included in this Skibidi Brainrot.

I will say this. This is directed to @sclae and @unotuno73.

( Before I say this, I'm saying this as a person who takes these Asks as cyberbullying. I don't know if this was the intention or some twisted way of showing that you liked the art. If you meant this as appreciation and NOT bullying, please tell me!! )

Even if you guys don't realize it, this can hurt people. Genuinely, please don't disrespect artists and their hard work this way. These characters I create are my own creation, and I don't like them being used in this way. I am not young enough to understand these memes and what they're supposed to mean, but I am old enough to make the mature decision and try and nicely correct them publicly. These memes did not hurt my pride. But if you keep doing this, especially to artists that are younger, more sensitive- you can really hurt their feelings and possibly mental health. I don't know what you are going through irl, but I can say that no one deserves their art to be made fun of this way. If I receive any more things from you, I will block both of you.

This is aimed for EVERYONE WHO SEES THIS POST. PLEASE DO NOT ATTACK THESE USERS. THEY ARE MOST LIKELY MINORS AND DON'T REALIZE WHAT A DIGITAL FOOTPRINT IS. I just wanted to make this known publicly to them and everyone who has done or is thinking of doing something similar, that this is not cool or funny. Like, at all. Artists, whether they still be learning and studying their craft, or masters, do not deserve to be made fun of. No matter what age. Old or young.
