Cullen (taking lyrium): I am bound to the Inquisition. I will serve until I am no longer needed.
Cullen: I always wanted to be a templar, to protect people. After Ferelden, I served out of fear… and because I was compelled. I thought if I removed the part that kept me chained, I would find my own purpose again. There are templars who have been through worse. Once your sacrifices are made, is there no end? Are you leashed until the day you die, or lyrium takes your mind away?
Cassandra: Mages have made their suffering known, but templars never have. They are bound to the Order, mind and soul, with someone always holding their lyrium leash. Cullen has a chance to break that leash, to prove to himself—and anyone who would follow suit—that it’s possible.
i see the words 'bound' 'chained' and 'leash' and black out and start barking

"Blood dripped from her hands as she brandished her scepter of thorns. The inquisitors had unfortunately found what they were looking for, a real witch, and they would pay dearly for it"

ysayle’s backstory of having to literally run for her life from the calamity and that she was very nearly just a number that Didn’t Make It to ishgard or was turned around at the gates of judgement to die bc space is limited and she is unimportant is only used as an aside rather than the very real horror that that’s a huge, major reason as to why ishgard is Like This right now, why the brume is overflowing and there’s not enough food or supplies to go around even for nobles, and why aymeric can’t keep control over his own people

So, between Ul'dah being so corrupt it's almost a joke and the weird catholic elves of Coerthas being FUCKING INSANE with literal Inquisitors running around throwing people off cliffs to prove their innocence in death, I'm starting to think Eorzea is, maybe, not a great place to live. I mean, sure it has angry gods and monsters, but what fantasy setting doesn't? It's beautiful, but my GOD, good luck finding a place to live even with other PEOPLE that doesn't fully suck.
I stand by my decision to join the pirates because the corrupt ones there are like, you know, the bad kind of pirates who maraud and rape and pillage, and we can just kill them easily as they crop up. They're not deeply entrenched oligarchs or theocrats who can't be eradicated. It's not IDEAL, but it's our best option so far.
So in addition to burning Ul'dah to the ground, we're also going to raze Elfsylvania and start fresh, it's a bad one, you don't really come back from literal witch trials, I still think somebody should have killed and eaten all the puritans, maybe then we wouldn't have Texas.

honestly the chantry is so funny. yeah god is real but he doesn't like you or you or you or even us. there is no promise of divine love or acceptance he will not care no matter what you do. don't even bother praying it's not gonna do anything. and that's your fault. that being said if you don't join our church we will kill you and sometimes we will kill you even if you do

🍓 vio!
I've mentioned before that Vio does not fit the Kingmaker Aasimar mechanics. He isn't the default aasimar, he's an Archon-blooded aasimar with darkvision (the trait replaced by the halo in 1e) and rather than a spell-like ability, he has healing tears!
Similarly, he would be a Divine Paragon archetype Cleric or a Faith Hunter/Preacher archetype Inquisitor (both archetypes at once).
[ 🍓 for a random fact about an OC! ]

First chapter is up and ready!
A Lord of Fortune tasked with the capture of a highly infamous artifact, stumbles upon something or rather someone just as forbidden. Plunging her into a conflict she had never imagined was occurring in the first place. Now burdened with a mission she never asked for, Elle must assist a writer named Varric Tethras to put a stop to catastrophic plans set in motion by a God of Legend, while her own shadowy past hastens to catch up with her. A wolf weaves in out of dreams, bending the veil to his will. There is no mercy in grief, no pity in regret. He searches, targets as vast as constellations threading the night sky. No one is safe. The world waits with bated breath for his next strike.
